I really don’t want swtor to shut down it’s the only eu thing that’s active we have left
I knew these asks were going to start coming in.
So for those who haven't heard, it was reported, and then later confirmed by Keith Kanneg on the forums, that EA is "selling" SWTOR to another developer, Broadsword. For those who want to read the article discussing it, you can read here: https://www.ign.com/articles/star-wars-the-old-republic-development-third-party-bioware
TL;DR -- It's not shutting down. The servers are going to stay active for a while
There's a few points to note here:
If I understand things correctly, EA actually owns Broadsword. So EA is in fact not actually offloading a property, I think what's actually happening is BioWare Austin itself is being divvied out and would not be surprised to see if that branch is shut down
At least half of the SWTOR dev team is part of this move, so the key things to keep an eye on is which members of the dev team are moving. If the narrative staff is kept intact, then we have more story ahead of us beyond what's been written, and they've confirmed we're getting 7.3, 7.3.1, and 7.4. It's important to note that their production timeline is generally a year out from things being written, so story-wise, if they have narrative staff, we'll likely still have some story drops ahead of us
SWTOR is profitable (it hit over $1 billion in profit several years ago), and I will admit I don't have the best understanding of video game finances, but my impresion it was far into the black and maybe not an enromous cash cow, but a decent consistent revenue stream. EA is a publisher that is about profits, so as long as the game is profitable, even if there's not new story drops, the game will stay online
Disney has seemingly taken a recent interest in SWTOR after mostly ignoring it after its acquisition of Star Wars, even going so far as to finally acknowledge the general KOTOR/SWTOR era in their presentations last year at Celebration. Does this ultimately mean anything? I don't know, but SWTOR is one of the longest running current properties with a stable player base. They're just as interested in profit as EA. Probably another indicator that the game will keep running for a while.
Other properties that Broadsword operates, such as Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online, are old games. Ultima Online was released in 1997, and the servers are still active. So like, I think regardless of what happens in regards of the story, we're not losing the ability to log in and play the game
Long term subscriptions - I remember reading, and forgive me, because I've long forgotten the source, that a key indicator if the servers are going offline is to also keep an eye on the six-month subscription option. Basically, if suddenly the only option for subs goes down to one month, that's when to worry about being able to actually play the game.
This is probably not about SWTOR, but BioWare as a whole. It seems there's a leadership issue at the main Alberta office that's causing issues. This is likely an Anthem issue all over again, but Anthem this time happens to be the Mass Effect and Dragon Age properties. Unfortunately, BioWare Austin looks like it's going to suffer the consequences of that, even though they've been running a tight ship overall compared to the rest of the branches. I feel for them. This sucks.
Now I'm not an oracle, I have no idea if this is ultimately a good or bad thing for the game itself. There's a lot of evidence for both sides of the coin, so right now the best thing is to wait and see. We at least have the promise of the next two patches. Let's focus on enjoying that, and celebrating what we love about our silly space game.
If you love the game, keep playing it. Spend money on it, and keep it profitable and it will stay around. Be kind and supportive of the devs, who regardless of how this shakes out, are going through a major transition. But immediately decrying an active game's death and going into doom and gloom is not going to help things.
Will we get more story beyond 7.4? I do not know one way or the other. I hope we do, but it's hard to say for certain on that front. But I do believe we'll still have our toons and be able to replay all of the released content for quite a while to come. Again, for now I'm just going to enjoy my favorite game, and support it as long as I have it. Even if this inevitably means it's going to change.

how della lost no nut november
contains: mutual masturbation, playful death threats (pls it’s just besties being besties)
"Do you wanna have some ramyeon in my room?" Sunoo asked Della when they were packing up after the concert.
"With Riki?" of course not- Sunoo has ulterior motives.
"No, he wants to do a live later. Probably gonna use Heeseung-hyung's room."
"Ahh okay then. I'll just drop my things off and meet you there," step one; get her alone. Done.
❅◦❆◦❅◦❆◦❅◦❆◦❅◦❆
"Woahh, not bad at all," Della looked around the room with raised eyebrows. "Did you clean things up or was it actually this tidy?" she sat down on one of the beds. "It smells really nice too," step two; set the room. Done.
A bit of cleaning, sprayed cologne everywhere, played some nice background music, dimmed the lights. Perfect
"I cleaned things up a bit, but not much at all," he prepared the cup noodles. "And it's the new perfume I bought. Smells so good, right?"
"It really does."
Sunoo had a game plan. He did not want to join in on the dumb triple N challenge like the others, but that did not mean that he didn't make a challenge for himself.
He is not losing his virginity just yet, but he is going to be the one to make Della lose 3N.
"I have some of this if you wanted to give it a try," he took out a can from the fridge. "It's really popular here. Alcohol's at 3% and it's really sweet. It'll taste just like soda."
"Like beer?" she went to stand next to him. "I don't like beer or soda, baby."
"Yeah, but-"
"I'll give it a try. Don't worry," step three; loosen her up a bit. Done.
"Are these sweatpants new? I've never seen you wear them before," she eyed his grey sweatpants.
'Oh right, I forgot about these. Jake said Della loves when we wear these.'
'He told me that there's a trick to create seduction effects with these. Just wearing them isn't enough,' Sunoo recalled.
"Oh I borrowed them from Niki. I'm thinking of getting a pair," she nodded her head slowly.
"You should. Suits you well," forgotten step four which was supposed to be step two; wear grey sweatpants and follow Jake's tip. Done.
"Finished! Do you wanna put something on the TV while we eat?" Sunoo placed the noodles and drinks on the table.
"I'm good. The music's nice," everything is going right so far. "A toast to Osaka?" she raised her can.
"Toast!" he clinked his with hers.
For awhile, nothing much happened afterwards. They chatted while enjoying their food (and Della's tiny sips of her drink) but that was it. It was pretty much like two best friends hanging out instead of a couple.
So Sunoo had to escalate it.
"I just realised your nails are back," he reached to grab her right hand. "How'd they grow so fast?"
"Ah, these two are fake. See?" she showed him the proof. "Got them done just before we came here."
"It's so pretty," he said in his deep voice while stroking the hand lightly.
He could feel her eyes on him, but she remained silent, as if she was admiring him. Step five; get her to get in a makeout mood. Done.
He then slowly raised his eyes to make eye contact without changing his position. The action made Della look away when her cheeks started to tint (even more).
Step six; just fucking go for it.
He grabbed her chin to bring her in for a kiss. Just something slow and soft that leaves room for escalation.
One of her hands went up to Sunoo's cheek and tilted her head to the side. She could feel her heart doing flips when she heard him sigh.
She moved on top of his lap, adding tongue into the mix and hugging him close. There wasn't any grinding involved, but she could definitely feel something poking down there.
"Can I suck you off?" she rested their foreheads together.
"Yeah, but-" he paused a bit to swallow. "I wanna make you feel good, too," he held onto her thighs and carried her to his bed. "Can we?"
Suddenly the fact that it was November completely flew out of Della's mind.
"Of course," and that's how her shorts and panties disappeared.
Sunoo turned the two around so that she was the one on top, and loosened the drawstring of his pants. Della had her lips attached to his neck whilst her hands tried to push down his bottoms. She didn't go far, so he had to remove the rest himself.
"Mmm," her left hand immediately brought itself to the semi-hard-on. She could feel him get more erect as she slowly started pumping. She could feel herself getting wetter, and his beautiful moans only worsened it.
Della is incredibly fucking horny, she needs stimulation now.
"Sunoo," she almost sounded pathetic, trying to grind onto his bare thigh.
"I'm right here- come here," he breathed out. His hand travelled behind her to reach her heat. He couldn't reach in enough to finger her properly, but he could easily rub her folds.
"Ahh," she let out a high-pitched moan, resting her head on his chest. She adjusted her position so he could actually reach the clit. "Fuck! Right there!" and as always, he could locate himself with ease.
"Go a little faster, darling," he groaned out. "Fuckk, there we go," he whined and used his free hand to pull her in for a kiss.
"Sunoo-ya," she pulled away with a gasp. "More, please."
If he could, he would've kept them in the same position, but since Della wants penetration, he would have to be on top.
There was a time when they tried mutual masturbation in that exact position, and it did not turn out well.
So that's exactly what he did; he flipped them over again. Wasting no time, he immediately enters two fingers into her wet entrance.
"Sunoo ahh!" she threw her head back and unconsciously pumped faster. Her mouth let out moans after moans, unable to shut up for even a second. "You feel so fucking good!" of course, she never forgets to praise her baby.
Della's head was empty. She could not comprehend how mutual masturbation could feel that good. It felt as if it was her first time.
Suddenly she gave a loud gasp (and one that sober Della would be embarrassed about). The familiar knot in her lower abdomen was building up incredibly quickly, and she knew that she was going to cum any second.
"Are you close?" Sunoo breathed out. If Della's eyes had stayed open, she would have caught the smirk on his face.
"Yes- please!" her free hand went to cover her mouth.
"Go ahead, you don't need my permission," he leaned down to plant kisses on her neck's sweet spot.
"SHIT! Ahh!" she held his head in place and squeezed her eyes shut. Her pumping hand was getting sloppier but she was trained enough to not stop or accidentally squeeze too hard. "Sunooo!" she cried out as she reached her high.
"Good girl," Sunoo said in a low voice, slowing down and lifting his head up to kiss her lips. He removed his hand to continue playing with her clit lightly. "I'm close too, keep pumping."
Della was still panting hard, but her brain cleared up enough to focus on giving an amazing handjob.
"Agh fuck!" now Sunoo was the one who was slowing down. He was nearing his orgasm, and it was coming fast. "You're so fucking good at this- ahh," his chuckle was cut off by a whine.
"Are you close, darling?" Della grabbed his working hand and rested it on her collarbone. "Relax, let me take care of you."
"So close, Lala. Any second now," his head floated above her chest to hide his face. "FUCK! Shit! I'm cumming!"
"There you go, darling. Good boy," she caressed his hair as ropes of cum spurted on her stomach. "Thank you," he lifted his head up so they could connect their lips.
"Thank you too, darling," he pulled away with a smile. "Let's clean u-" Della's phone suddenly started ringing before Sunoo could finish his sentence. "Go pick that up. I'll clean you up," he gave one last peck and stood up to grab some tissues.
Incoming call: Hubby ❤️
"Hello? Jaeyun?" Della immediately put the call on speaker to not leave Sunoo out, especially after what they just did.
"Uh- Della, where are you?" Jake's voice filled the room. Straight away, Della knew that he was not alone.
"The hotel room.. Why?"
"I'm with Heeseung-hyung, Jay and Sunghoon. We had a little discussion and came to an agreement," Sunoo and eyed each other as the former continued to clean up the mess he made on her abdomen.
"Mhmm?" Sunoo held back a laugh. He knows exactly what face his hyungs are making. 'They're down bad.'
"We decided that our triple N will be a competition on who can get you to lose first," and that's when it hit Della. "'Cause to us, it's just more rewarding," SHE FUCKING LOST NO NUT NOVEMBER.
Her eyes shifted to Sunoo's face in panic, only to find the guy smiling innocently.
'You fucking bitch,' she mouthed, making him look away to avoid laughing out loud.
"Hello?" Jake questioned.
"Jakey, are you on speaker?" Della looked into Sunoo's eyes with rage.
"Yeah, we can hear you," Jay spoke up.
"Guys... How do I put this..." she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Prepare to get yelled at. "I... lost..."
"WHAT?!" she looked at Sunoo again while mouthing a 'fuck you.'
"Alone?!" Heeseung's voice boomed.
"Uhh..." Sunoo couldn't contain his giggles anymore, leaning against Della's chest.
"Sorry hyungs," he grinned.
"WITH SUNOO?!" "KIM SUNOO?!" "WHAT?!" "SUNOO-YA?!" all four hyuppas said altogether.
"I'm sorry guys but it just sort of... happened.." Della tried to explain. How can she get out of this? "I didn't even realised that I los-"
"Della. My room. Right fucking now," Sunghoon cut off in a dark voice before hanging up.
"KIM SUNOO, YOU DID THIS ON PURPOSE?!" Della slammed her phone on the empty bed-space next to her. "I'm gonna fucking kill you!" she sent multiple playful hits on his back but kept him on her chest.
"I won 3N!" Sunoo just couldn't stop giggling. "Thank you, darling!" he cuddled into her. "And please don't die tonight! I hope my girlfriend stays in one piece!"
"I'm going to kill you!" she playfully choked him. "I can't believe I lost just like that and with someone who didn't even participate!"
"YAY! I'M THE KING OF NOVEMBER!" Sunoo cheered, unbothered with the hands on his neck.
"RIP Kang Della. Born in Seoul, 2003. Died in Osaka, 2022."

One BOSAS take that really gets on my nerves is the idea that Coriolanus never loved Lucy Gray. While there are some points to make for it, there’s a lot more to say about the story as a whole when you see it through the lens that he did.
Number one: The idea that Coriolanus never loved Lucy Gray makes zero sense and completely undermines how his relationship with her shaped his relationship with power, and his personality in general.
Let’s first look at the “present” (the main time BOSAS took place). Coriolanus is immediately attracted and drawn towards her, and continues flirting with her later. He enjoys the kiss before the games very much, and literally gives her his mothers compact. He also says that he’s never felt that way about anyone else before, so even if what he feels isn’t actually love (and who are we to decide?) if he thinks it is/was that’s good enough, because it influences how he feels about the whole thing in the end. These examples aren’t enough to conclude, as love is based on way more than just desire, so let’s continue.
Now, the “future” (after the huge fight, and the rest of the years up until Katniss’ games). This proves so much more than the “present” stuff. Firstly, there’s the fact Coriolanus was willing/ready to spend the rest of his life with her, if he hadn’t been accepted into officers school. You can still love people and put your career first, which is what he did.
He was also happy that Lucy Gray believed they were written in the stars and therefore forever intertwined (which they pretty much were), which if you didn’t love someone would be a pretty heavy thing to be told and put a lot of pressure on the relationship as a whole. Instead, he sees as a positive, even if he doesn’t believe it and the reason why is kinda weird.
Coriolanus, again, had never really been in love or even a relationship. The only other mention of past romance we get from him is a dare that Festus put him up to, involving lots of posca and some encounter behind an alleyway that got him the reputation of a player. That’s it. This whole romance thing is pretty new for him, so even if he wasn’t actually in love, he thought he was, and that means the same for him.
Let’s look at how it means the same for him. It’s gonna be quick (I think). Coriolanus vows to never love again. He hates the control it has over him. This alone is enough to convince me he truly loved her- the fact that he nearly went with her to live alone in the wilderness (although the fact he could’ve been arrested probs helped some too). He was well aware of what him loving her cost him, and that’s enough to convince me he did.
I see a lot of people quote the fact that he was unloving towards the fact that that he never loved at all, but we have to look at that as cause and effect instead of seeing it as the same wavelength if that makes sense. Like because he loved her, he knows not to love again, NOT he won’t ever love so he never loved her. Plus, we know he’s capable of love due to Tigris, we just also know he doesn’t value it and cares about his career more, due to Tigris again.
Also, I’d like to add on the fact that Coriolanus was excited to see Lucy Gray at the hob, wanted to spend time with her, and met her family. Like yeah these don’t mean love, but some of y’all are out here painting this idea that he never even liked her and that’s just SO wrong compared to love, which at least has a lot of layers and I can understand both sides.
We also know Coriolanus, after Lucy Gray “betrayed” him, says that he should marry someone he has no chance of loving. So, he did love her because he learned his lesson about love in general from her. He learned that he will always choose the capitol/power over love (how Lucy Gray shaped his relationship with those feelings and made them more clear), and that he really did love power lol.
In conclusion, while his feelings were clearly complicated, he did love Lucy Gray, and that shaped a lot of the story, both his own and Lucy Gray’s.

what im about to say is going to surprise a lot of people at first, but hear me out, i promise im going somewhere with this.
even though the snowgrave is an evil thing to do, removing someone's agency, seducing them into committing murder by taking advantage of their trust, causing them pain in order to make it easier to do... noelle actually comes OUT of the route a more developed person.
this isn't to say snowgrave is doing her a kindness, god no, but... you notice how different she acts regarding kris when all is said and done? she actually cares to notice something is wrong with them. then, questions why she didn't notice before. then, she decides she's going to DO something about it. this is something she doesn't do on a normal route (not yet, anyway) and is something which not only requires caring about the emotions and behavior of others, but also being confident enough in her ability to handle things that she's going to risk her own safety in order to help kris!
why does this happen? well, i think its gotta be the fact that snowgrave was fucking traumatic for her. and the thing that caused the trauma wasn't a big scary threat, it was herself. her own lack of care, her own lack of moral principles, her own lack of self-confidence which led her to be so easily manipulated. i'm not victim blaming here, she didn't deserve it, she wasn't asking for it, and i dont think she enjoyed it. but if noelle hadn't been so easily manipulated, snowgrave would've been impossible. what's more, it was by her own hand that everything happened. we just sat on the sidelines encouraging her. that's gotta fuck you up bad, realizing what evil you're capable of if you don't check yourself. thus, both due to the fact that having the maturity of a child enabled her abuse, and the fact that surviving through the abuse requires fortifying herself, noelle comes out of that experience changed into someone at least a little bit more grown. more empathetic, more confident, more capable of taking care of herself. you know, despite the trauma. she is forced to overcome.
but all this is kind of useless, right? you know, because of the trauma. of course forcing people into horrible situations forces them to either overcome or suffer the consequences, but then you commit moral atrocities and end up with a bunch of traumatized people who might suffer long term side effects and potentially end up less stable as a result. so, how can we take this and apply it to NOT murdering people?
well, the core principle here is the following. people grow when faced with adversity. whether they succeed for fail, they come out of the experience changed. they will have had new experiences which they can use to better overcome new challenges, they will have aquired new skills, they will have learned new things. the greater the adversity, the larger the potential gains, but also the larger the potential for long term damage which negates those gains. whether or not you fail is irrelevant to whether or not you will come out of an experience broken. pushing yourself harder than you can handle will come with a lot of pain to heal, even if you succeed. its just like fighting enemies in a game. the higher level enemies you fight, the better loot and more XP you get, but the less HP and MP you have.
noelle has faced very little adversity in her life, thus her imaginary PERSONAL GROWTH LEVEL is still very low. there are (prior to snowgrave) three main things which have caused her strife. the neglect and abuse of her mother, the loss of dess, and rudy's sickness. her mother's abuse was a formative experience for noelle, which taught her that to keep herself safe, she should simply obey what other people tell her. in the game of personal development, noelle lost the fight, gained a little experience, but got too scared to fight the boss again. what she learned from that as a child is that conflict is scary and that she should avoid it wherever she can. bad lesson to be taught so young. the loss of a family member is a lot even for adults to take, let alone neglected children. as happened with her mother, noelle came out of the experience beaten, and became too scared to try and overcome. so, she gained a little experience, and learned another lesson. rely on other people whenever you can. she was small and afraid and couldn't take care of herself while dealing with dess' loss, but even years after the fact she hasn't taken that step back out to face the world herself. she's still level one in the game of personal development. and rudy's sickness is also of note, in how it causes her to avoid progressing the main quest in the aforementioned game altogether. what noelle wants now is total escape into a world with no stakes, one where nothing can touch her. she wants escapism, because she doesnt knoe how to handle adversity, because she never grew emotionally past the level of a child.
so, what does noelle really need, if not murder? well, what she needs is a small, managable level of adversity, something preferably with some level of urgency, but that doesn't actually require more of noelle than she can give. the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance METAL GEAR RAY fight of the game of personal development. what noelle needs is...
Queen!
that's right deltarune people! i have successfully reproduced The Thing Most Of You Probably Understood Because It Was Literally The Whole Point Of Chapter 2! that standing up to queen helped noelle develop! woo!
but, lets actually look at what's going on mechanically here. queen has indeed threatened the lives of noelle's friends if she resists. the consequences for failing to resist however is being queen's slave. its scary stuff! but as soon as noelle actually stands up to queen, and says "NO. I do not want to do this!" ... it all stops. Queen goes "Oh Okay Sorry LOL" and just leaves Noelle alone. this encounter demanded that noelle do something small, something scary, but not something she wasn't capable of doing. and it rewards her massively for doing it, by completely ending the conflict, probably making her feel like a badass, and teaching her a valuable lesson, which is that she is strong enough to stand up to adversity, and that by trying, she can succeed. this is exactly the kind of thing which would prime noelle to grow more as a person, to start working up over time to face The Big Three.
...that is, if it weren't for susie telling noelle it was all just a dream. that immediately does critical damage to the integrity of the lesson, because now noelle likely thinks (subconsciously, anyway) that the reason everything worked out so well is because it was a dream, a pure fantasy where she got to go on a Totally Romantic For Real ferris wheel ride with susie. if she tried that stunt for real, noelle is thinking, surely it wouldn't work. real life is hard, real life is scary. it may have only INCREASED noelle's desire for escapism!
that's not to say that it didn't help a little bit, im sure it has, but it still put a serious dent in her development, a dent that might hurt everyone later down the line. noelle not being told it was a dream would have substantially improved her relationship with kris, shown her she's more capable than she realizes, ended her ongoing weird thing with berdly, probably helped her see susie as more than just an object of affection, maybe even given her a sense of pride in being a hero. but, because of susie's need to keep people at arm's length, because she fears people getting too close, noelle has to forget. it really sucks.
all this to say, noelle better get some god damn character development in her or she might end up causing more catastrophes to happen through inaction. and also don't abuse troubled youth, it isn't actually very helpful.

I guess this is in regards to Forward but Never Forget but maybe also Mal de Mer: Does Silco ever regret meeting Mel or does he realize she serves a purpose in his life maybe one that no one has filled before? Does he recognize how she affects him and does he appreciate it?
His feelings for Mel are, and will always be, deeply ambivalent.
Chiefly because, as we will learn in FnF, the end of their affair triggers a chain of events that must be managed, mitigated and otherwise manhandled, to get the outcome he desires - for Zaun, and for the future.
He wouldn't say she serves a purpose 'no one' has filled before - in his mind that is, and will always be Jinx, and everything she embodies as Zaun's next generation, and in his private life.
He will, however, admit that she's a challenge - an intellectual rival, a sparring partner, a kindred spirit who understands his vision. He's never had anyone like her before (re: purity of purpose rather than pedigree) and the fact that he enjoys her company and finds her intolerably attractive is just the icing on the cake. The two of them do not see eye to eye on everything, but it's a point of pride that he is, for the first time, compelled to re-evaluate his positions and beliefs, and in turn, the direction he intends to steer Zaun.
At the outset, he'd say their affair served a purpose. Down the line, as his relationship with her develops, he'd say his sentiments are an inconvenient side-effect, but that he can navigate his way around them, and make the necessary choices (spoilers: he's full of shit).  By the time he 'finalizes' the relationship in the 'Mal de Mer' AU, he rationalizes it by saying that she makes his life more interesting than he'd expected: more exciting, more unpredictable, and in many ways more dangerous.
Silco in FnF is a high-stakes roller at his core - high risk, high reward. But while he knows the odds, and can play them well, the house will always have an edge.
Mel, in all her wealth, beauty and privilege, will always have an edge.
It's not a fact he enjoys thinking about, and which he buries, for the most part, under the weight of his ambitions and the demands of the moment. But it eats away at him, as his feelings for her grow and become less easy to manage. He wants to believe that her affection is real, but there's a voice in his head that won't shut up, telling him that it's too good to be true, and that she'll never be able to commit to his plans for Zaun, or be loyal to him in the way that he needs.
After all, she's a Topsider, and a Medarda, and a woman whose purview and priorities center purely on her own city's enrichment.
.............Also, she's still in love with Jayce.
The result is that he's always either holding back, or setting traps for her, or making contingency plans. His trust for her, and his faith in her, waxes and wanes like the tides. Sometimes he feels as if she awakens a part of him that's been sleeping for so long he's forgotten what it's like to live without its presence. Other times he feels as if he's looking into a mirror, and seeing only his own hungriest, shallowest and basest impulses reflected back at him.
Mel's own traumas and trust issues complicate the equation. She always feels that she has to find her footing in a world where everything she does, says and believes is under threat, and her sense of self is in constant flux. In her mind, Silco is is a dark echo of her mother: someone whose devotion is conditional, who keeps score of every choice she makes, and who will jettison her the moment he stops seeing value in her.
The result is that they're always gaming each other, and it's an exhausting dance to a well-worn tune:
"I can't trust you. Prove that I can."
"How can I trust you when you never tell me the whole story?"
"What if I told you the whole story, and you left me anyway?"
And round and round they go.
Sex is one of the few means they can count on to cut through the noise, and bring them closer together. The physicality and vulnerability of the act tends to drop their guards. The games here, rather than tests of trust, are an actual bridge towards intimacy: he's one of the few men who can evoke an honest, unfiltered response from her, and she's one of the few women who can break open his crooked shell and evoke a peculiar tenderness in him.
It's the closest he comes to being his boyhood self.
It's the closest she comes to being her girlhood self.
Naturally, the aftermath leaves them susceptible to all the doubts and insecurities they're trying to keep at bay. They're most likely to have open and honest conversations in bed, just when they're drifting off to sleep. But they're also the most likely to have full-on screaming matches, when they wake up, because they're struggling to return to their familiar, more easily navigable roles, until the next time their desires overwhelm them.
As Silco puts it, in FnF, the price for Mel's company, and its pleasures, is 'exorbitant.'
He'd pay it a hundred times over, though. Even if he never got a single decent night's sleep again.
They're not soulmates; nor will they ever be. But there are all these threads of their pasts that keep pulling them to one another, so even when they're on opposing sides, they can't help but orbit one another, because their minds are too much alike, and their passions are too entwined, and their mutual influence has altered them both too profoundly for them to ever be indifferent towards each other.
So, to answer your question: no, he does not regret meeting her.
There is very little Silco regrets, period.
As to whether he realizes how she affects him, and does he appreciate it - in his own way, yes. It's why he keeps her close. It's also why he holds her at arm's length, and will not give her his heart, no matter how much she cajoles or demands it from him.
And when he does give it, it will come at the heels of total, absolute surrender from her.
It's a tall order.
But then, as Mel's observed, he's a very demanding man.

Triangle Strategy
Tumblr media
My obsession since a month. I finished all the routes and played so many hours, I'm finally ready to present it to you and I hope my review will pique your interest and that you'll join me in this then xD (because I LOVE IT TOO MUCH).
Triangle Strategy is a tactical rpg that also flirts with the narrative genre, in which you juggle between fights, cut scenes and choice phases that will influence the fate of Lord Serenor and the future of the continent of Norzelia. Let's say it right away, I devoured the game; I haven't enjoyed a tactical game this much since Fire Emblem 3H! The game has a lot going for it, both in terms of gameplay and narrative, but there are a few disappointing points that could have been better executed by Square Enix.
❤ The story is excellent, very well written and very engaging. The geopolitical conflict is coherent, and we don't just see everything through the eyes of the MC, there are also side moments to follow the plot from other points of view. It's easy to see that the game isn't at all Manichean; each character has their own vision of the continent's prosperity, and as a result, nobody really embodies evil or good. There's a real maturity of writing here, making TS not at all predictable or cliché. ❤ This feeling is reinforced by the choice system, since in wartime, no choice is fair to all, and concessions have to be made. This makes it almost heartbreaking to decide. The game offers us 2 forms of choice. First, dialogue choices to reinforce your character's convictions, revolving around 3 main themes: Morality, Liberty, and Utility. Then, scenario choices that will influence your game, based on a debate with your group; in fact, the convictions you've strengthened will help you win debates. It's an essential part of the story, and adds a lot of spice, if I may say so, as well as replayability (4 endings, including a "true end"). ❤ Let's talk about combat. The tactical aspect is fairly basic and easy to learn. On the other hand, it offers real diversity in terms of combinations. Each recruit has their own combat specialities (2 archers will not have the same attack and defense characteristics, and will have very different skills too). As a result, you really get caught up in studying the field, weather and enemies to come up with the best possible strategy. What's more, the game offers a fair amount of challenge in certain battles, so you'll sometimes have to start them all over again, which really pushes you to persevere and find the best possible combinations; it was extremely addictive for me. ❤ In terms of artistic direction, the 2d-hd pixel art is really beautiful, with superb lighting effects and depth of field. ❤ For the audio, the game is already fully dubbed (Japanese or English), which greatly strengthens our attachment to the characters and our immersion in the story. I played it in Japanese and recognized some big names in dubbing, so it really is a top-quality cast. Now I'd like to turn to the thing that most amazed me about this game: the music. Composed by Akira Senju, whose music for FMA Brotherhood I already greatly admire, he created here an absolutely incredible soundtrack! All the themes are memorable and effectively accompany the atmosphere of every moment in the game. I can say without hesitation that this soundtrack has immediately become one of my must-haves <3
+/- The group's main characters are very likeable and pretty well developed over the course of the game. It's a pity that this is not the case for the other units in our group. Their recruitment is done in a very expeditious way (the characters are accessible as soon as you've increased your convictions enough) based on a short scene like, "Hi, I've come to fight by your side". And then you unlock 2 extra stages if you raise their stats enough, and that's it…at least in Fire Emblem, the appearance of secondary units was done through combat, which allowed us to learn and test their skills, it was much more useful. +/- NG+ is really cool if you want to keep playing and unlock new characters or scenarios. On the other hand, why doesn't the option just appear in the menu, it's pretty confusing to launch (because yes, I relaunched another day and had forgotten about the little explanatory window, but come on!).
✖ Some combat animations are quite slow, and you can't really get past them even when speeding up. ✖ The exploration phases are not very interesting (only 2 phases have a real impact on the scenario, otherwise it's just to recover items). ✖ The game's OST is neither sold on Steam, nor accessible on Spotify or anything else, I want to tear my hair out in frustration. PLEASE SQUARE ENIX, LET ME OWN THIS MUSIC!!!! (;;)
As you can see, after 80 hours of play, Triangle Strategy is for me an excellent game in its genre, thanks to its narrative and strategic qualities, and I can say that I felt a great sadness to have finished it x') However, I'd recommend it to those who like to read, because yes, the dialogues are rich and abundant, and I think that might put off a lot of people expecting more combat and less blah-blah.
As far as I'm concerned, it's this balance between narrative and combat that gives this game its charm and strength, and which I'm sure will convince other lovers of the genre. I'm convinced of it.

After a little futzing I realized I was off with my previous post, the Guard Cap in IS2 will in fact go higher than 200K.
Anyway enjoy Skadi Gaming
Tumblr media
Math under the cut since it's definitely possible to take this even further beyond
So rather than a set HP cap, the guard cap can proc 99 times per map before it stops increasing an operator's HP any further. It also works off of the current base HP going into the map, which factors in any HP-increasing items you've picked up along the way.
(As a side-note, it seems like any HP increasing items will only scale with the original base HP, otherwise things would get a lot more ridiculous. I've noticed the numbers don't always line up exactly though, so there might be some discrepancies)
Skadi has a maximum base HP value of 4166, and as far as HP items in IS2 we have:
Silent Squad: +45% (6040) Spearhead Squad: +15% (6669)(Nice) Noxious Hemostatic Agent: +20% (7502) First Aid Kit: +35% (8960) Unknown Instrument: +50% (11043) Bend Spears - Advancement: +40% (12709) Blademace: +10% (13125) Bladedance: +100% (17291) Stand-in Actor: +3% (17415) Abrupt Realization: +5% (17623)
A final HP value of 17623, before any skills or passive effects kick in. for context, my Skadi had 10,600 HP before I started redeploying to get the picture above.
Now if we factor in Specter the Unchained and her level 3 module, which gives all abyssal hunters an additional 33% max HP...
18,997 is the final number we get. If we do the math right now that adds up to 487,818 HP. But we're not done yet. There's more.
Aak S2 M3: +80% (Works off of original base HP before artifact buffs) Heidi S3 M3: +30% of Heidi's max HP Skadi S3 M3: +130% (Works off of base HP after artifact buffs)
This brings us to a final, absolutely bonkers wild HP value of 514,434. At which point I assume the game just loads in her health bar as

Hearing that you play OPTC... What's your favorite Sabo unit in there?
You know that I can't pick only one favorite Sabo unit now (& I'm not saying that because I'm indecisive). 🤭
I'm honestly going to do it like this:
2 Favorite Non Sugo units
2 Favorite Sugo Units
There's a few that I'm not counting, as listed in this post here. I wanted to include honorable mentions (1 non Sugo & 1 Sugo) as well. But I can't fit more pics or animations & I don't have much to say about those two. So I'm going to put them in a different post as well.
Anyway, here are my favorites that I have & like. They're not in any order by the way!
First Favorite Non Sugo Unit:
Bitter Refinement/Sweet Dignity
Tumblr media
These two are one of the very first Treasure Map event units we ever got in the game, & it's honestly an endearing unit. I remember having this in my team along with the Christmas Cavendish unit that I also got from Treasure Map. I personally loved the theme & aesthetic. The outfit is lovely, especially the addition of the little dragon on the tie.
I was surprised to know that they gave this unit additional abilities later on if you raised his level limit. He was actually one of the very first units to be given additional abilities. Raising it to the max basically had given his special ability the additional effect to heal the team with 15,000 HP.
Speaking of his special, the animation is really cute despite being on the shorter side. Just look at that smile!
Tumblr media
Currently, I use him whenever he is a boosted unit for an event or whenever Valentine's Day comes around. Personally, I wish they made a figure of this specific unit holding the plate of sweets he has in the art because I just love it so much!
Second Favorite Non Sugo Unit:
An Unlikely Alliance/Back to Back Fire Fists
Tumblr media
I have to admit, the more I look at Stampede Sabo in general, the more fond I am of the outfit he's wearing. But yeah, this is the one Stampede Sabo unit we have in this game & I just love using him whenever I can.
He basically boosts the attack of three character types, & he's yet to get any additional abilities for his level limit as of now. Still, I do enjoy using him on teams I make up for fun & when he's a boosted character in events.
His special animation is pretty short compared to others, but it does look very nice overall.
Tumblr media
A part of me kind of wished he was a Sugo Unit. I just think him being voiced would've been nice. But I'm more than fine with him being a Clash Unit (even though I struggled a bit to get him several times to raise his level limit).
Alright, now for the Sugo Units.
First Favorite Sugo Unit:
Brotherly Bond/Fiery Bond/Declaring Battle Against the Gods
Tumblr media
Yes, all three of these are technically the same unit, but they're separated in the character log. This is because the first two came out first. We got the super evolution of the unit later on (last year actually). The fact that it also changes the typing of the unit is amusing. It's actually one of several super evolutions to do that.
But if you were to ask me which one of these three is my favorite, it would actually have to be the super evolution.
I absolutely adore this unit so much, even though he's not considered good in the current meta. A lot of people on my friends list there like to use him as friend captain & that makes me happy to see. Pretty sure it either has to do with the fact that their teams are the types he boosts or they like his super type special.
Also, seeing him all angry in the art & the animation just gets my heart feeling a certain way. I just love a man who will do anything for those who are close to him, okay?
Tumblr media
Though I will admit that his optional effect isn't too drastic though (I'll post it later).
Second Favorite Sugo Unit:
Reunion with His Little Brother/Flame to Protect His Little Brother
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This unit is one of the Anniversary Units. Still a pretty recent unit in the game too as he's only been around for about 8 months or so.
It's safe to say that I have a lot of love for this unit in particular. Though I'll be honest, there's another unit that's tied with this one. But I'll talk about that unit in the next post I do.
Not only is it referencing a moment that honestly makes me cry, it's also a really wonderful unit that I enjoy using as Captain. This especially goes considering that I like using the units he boosts.
He has quite a wonderful animation too! Compared to other animations, this one had a bit more work put into it (& I don't just mean length wise either).
The fact that it's just that sequence of him dealing with the Marines is so funny. It makes me so freaking happy because of how much I loved that moment. It's another reason as to why I like having this unit in my current main team.
Tumblr media
By the way, this isn't the only animation this unit has. They also gave him a special animation for when you complete a super tandem with him & a few specific characters!
Tumblr media
The thing is that, again, he's an anniversary unit. So he only comes around whenever they have an anniversary or half anniversary banner. But I'm not exactly in a rush to raise his level limit. He's good as is with what I was able to do in terms of boosting his stats up. Just need to raise his potential abilities.
Overall, I love all the Sabo units I have on the game & I can't wait for any future ones they give us!
Also, if you guys want the animations alone in the posts along with the unit's pics, then I'll gladly do that when I can!

Are, Were
Corpse Husband x Reader (Gender Neutral)
Warnings: Arguments, Friendship fallout, Swearing
Genre: Friends-to-Enemies-to-Friends-to-Lovers, Minor Angst and Romance elements, Fluff, RPF (Real Person Pic)
Summary: The ups and downs of Y/N and Corpse’s friendship displayed through four key chapters of their lives.
Requested by z Anon. Hi dear! Thank you so much for your request I’m so sorry I haven’t bee able to get around to it sooner but here it finally is and I hope you come across it even after all this time and if so I hope you enjoy the read! Love, Vy ❤
We are friends
“What if I make an ass out of myself?!“
“You won’t! God, Y/N, I promise you everything will be just fine. Dave and Felix are gonna love you.“
When you heard that Corpse’s friends were coming to California for some convention, you were initially excited mostly because that would mean having a chance of running into them at said con which you’d be attending professionally, as a part of a gaming panel especially for developers.
However. However, when that chance, small unlikely chance, was to be made into an arrangement by your best friend Corpse, you started freaking out. See, you can handle a brief interaction consisting of minor chit-chat exchange and a picture taken. What you can’t deal with is having to spend some extended time with them in the same room.
For starters, Felix has been your idol since you can remember the roots of your internet presence. He’s the one who motivated you into gaming and became your role model. That being said, your brain has convinced you that being around this human for longer than two minutes would result in you embarrassing yourself one way or another and you most certainly do NOT want that. Of course, Corpse has tried to call this theory for its flaws countless times but has had no success.
Secondly, there’s Dave who, apart from being yet another role model and inspiration for you, is also a great crush of yours. Hell, just the thought of being in this guy’s vicinity scares the bejesus out of you for the same reason as before but amplified. You can picture your red face and ears, your constantly fidgety hands and bouncing leg and overall awkward composure and posture as a side-effect of your fluster.
In short, you expect exactly what you said - to inadvertently make an ass out of yourself.
For Corpse, who’s been friends with those two for quite some time now, it’s a hard concept to grasp but he can bring himself around to understanding it. Does he still try to dissuade you? Yes. Will it work? You’re set on it not working, but if he does you’ll be damned.
*    *    *    *    *
He failed, to your delight, he did. He’s just now accepted defeat and man was it the most relieving thing to hear.
However, little did you know, he wasn’t done trying. In fact, you catch him red-handed in the act of scheming as you’re packing for the trip to the convention tomorrow.
“Yeah, their name is Y/N, Y/N L/N. They're a developer, you can catch them at the ‘World Building-Breaking Bounds’ panel. Suggest it to Felix, I’m pretty sure he’d be interested in meeting them.“ You overhear this little conversation on your way from the bedroom to the bathroom while your visitor’s sitting in the living room, sprawled out on the couch like the place is his. Although he’s trying to watch his tone, he’s not doing a particularly good job with it. “I promise you their work is of high quality.” A small pause follows which you can barely stand as you grow antsy in the hallway, “Ok, ok, I might be a bit biased because we’re friends, but they really are a gem. As a person and as a developer.”
Typically, you wouldn’t be the happiest with this endeavor. Of course, you appreciate the gesture and know that he’s doing it with the best intention and you happiness in mind, but you’d be a little prissy about it, for certain. You’ve climbed the ladder all on your own all your life and have grown distasteful of help, especially when you’re given it without any notification or question beforehand.
However, this time, you can’t find it in you to be the least bit upset. In fact, you catch yourself smiling as you force your feet to continue carrying you in the direction of the bathroom - a trip you’ve already forgotten the purpose of. Although, when you think about it, it’s probably got something to do with that last line.
It’s most definitely got something to do with that last line.
We were friends
It’s a tale as old as time - a fallout built on a mountain of pettiness with no real sustenance. One can think they’ve gathered everything about the story just by listening to one of the parties despite the other telling a similar tale with little knick-knacks that pain the first person just as badly.
In each other’s eyes, they’re probably exactly that - horrible people and even worse friends.
But, when you start comparing the two, that is if you ever get to hear both sides, of course, you’d know that it’s a simple case of miscommunication that has accumulated to a spontaneous combustion that could’ve very easily been avoided by just talking about the problems when they arose instead of shoveling them atop the already high-risen pile of minor not-completely-resolved conflicts.
That’s what’s brought you and Corpse here - a forever of miscommunication, or lack of communication entirely, and just an hour of arguing. And just like that, the friendship seems to have collapsed.
Allow me to show the readers how it comes off from different perspectives - aka what your friends heard and what Corpse’s friends - aka Dave and Felix - heard regarding the matter.
He’s so fucking full of himself! He thinks he’s allll that! Might as well have looked me in the eyes and called me incapable!
They are such an infuriating know-it-all! Condescending, sarcastic, mean, two-faced...
He had no right to bring my career into all that mess! Actually, no, I’m glad he did because what the hell did he think was gonna happen?! Hello?! I’m a game developer, he’s a streamer. He’d be nothing without my industry!
They think they’re so high-and-mighty, that they somehow ‘made’ me! I owe my following to several people, I’ll be the first to admit, but Y/N’s not one of them!
And if he thinks he has any moral high-ground when it comes to life decisions the he doesn’t
They don’t know
A
Damn
Thing
Yeah, neither of you know a damn thing, as it would seem.
We are friends
“My car’s getting fixed so be on the lookout for a silver Nissan instead.“ Corpse says over the phone as he paces his apartment, one hand holding the phone, the other brandishing a cloth against the specs of dust on the kitchen counter and cupboards.
“You got a rental specifically for us? You know we could’ve taken a taxi instead?“ Dave replies from the other line. Him and Felix have just landed and are still navigating airport customs due to some passport issue and a luggage mix-up, giving Corpse enough time to finish cleaning up the previously dingy and messy living space before he drives to pick them up.
“Um...no....“ Throwing the cloth in the trash, Corpse secures the phone between his shoulder and ear as he busies his hands with putting on his shoes in the foyer, “I borrowed it from a friend...“
“Corpse, if you bring it back with a single scratch I’ll fucking MURDER you!“ From the living room echoes a voice that inevitably gets picked up by the phone. And is also inevitably recognized by Dave, a fact Corpse is well aware of before the Brit even utters a single word, cringing slightly at the fact that he’ll have plenty to explain now that the tea’s been spilt.
“Was that Y/N?!“ The older man catches on in an instant as expected, prompting Corpse to think fast.
“Idon’tknowbye!“ And just like that he hangs up the call.
“Did you hear me!?“ your voice remerges, this time quieter and closer because you’ve ventured down the hall, “If you bring back Harlow with a single scrape...“
“You’ll bury me alive with cactuses.“ He cuts you off, finally managing to slip his foot in the forsaken shoe, “Don’t worry, I’d never dare bring harm to a car, not one I helped name, at least. Harlow the Nissan will be just fine in my company!” With a fleeting wink, he’s out the door, your car keys in hand.
“Thank you for the cactus idea, Jigsaw!“ With that screamed down the stairwell, you make a point to close the door quietly as if that will cancel out the yell all the neighbors undoubtedly heard through the thin walls.
*    *    *    *    *
“You best get to talking.“ Felix, who’s got stuck in the backseat due to Dave calling shotgun first, sticks his head between the two front seats as the vehicle comes to a slow halt at a red light.
“There’s nothing more to tell! They apologized, I apologized, that’s that. Now we’re partially roommating while their apartment’s getting sprayed for roaches. I don’t understand what more do you want.“ Corpse complains, feeling more trapped than ever with these two childishly curious and annoyingly persistent grown-ass men in a car that is factually more spacious than his own.
If only it were a Tesla and he could just ditch them, knowing they’d still get to the apartment safely.
“We want the truth and all the details because, love, you aren’t shitting anyone.“ Dave interferes, obviously siding with Felix. “If you and Y/N have anything in common is how stubborn you both are sometimes.”
“Most of the time.“ Felix corrects him.
“Most of the time.“ Dave repeats for emphasis, forcing Corpse to drop his head against the steering wheel.
“We’re friends again, that’s all that matters, isn’t it? Isn’t it enough for you?“ Corpse understands the curiosity and the involvement these two want to have. After meeting you at that convention about a year ago at this point, the three of you kindled a close friendship, binding all four in the same circle which means that when problems arose between you and Corpse, Dave and Felix immediately tried to help mend the situation any way they could, not only on your and Corpse’s behalf, but so they wouldn’t you as a friend either. They felt you growing distant during the few months following the fallout up until this point that they’ve finally been caught up on the fact that the bridges have been rebuilt.
“It’s more than enough, it’s lovely, in fact, but...“ Felix trails off, clearly having not thought this through before he had started talking.
But luckily Dave is there to pick up where he left off, “You know us Brits like our tea. So start spilling.”
In that very moment, the light changes to green, giving the driver of Harlow the Nissan an excuse not to reply and step on the gas. An activity that’s busied him enough to not catch the look his two friends exchange as to say ‘you’re thinking what I’m thinking?’
And man were they thinking correctly...
We were friends
“Guys you’re slowly losing me here, this is the most exercise I’ve had in years“ Jack complains from his spot walking between Corpse and Felix.
He’s been in the warmth of the San Francisco sun less than twenty-four hours and is already getting his ass kicked by it. Corpse has taken him, Felix and Dave on a tour through the more private places in the city where they could all easily go by incognito and man is he not having it. Of course, he’s exaggerating the exercising part, the exhaustion so is so prominent because of his massive jet-lag but he refused to go to sleep when he arrived this morning so this is what he gets in return.
“Oh no, no you don’t. You better pull those energy levels back up to meet Y/N. They’re probably the only person capable of matching your energy levels.“ Felix warns, poking the Irishman in the side, hitting a ticklish spot that immediately has him jolting upright from his slumped walking posture.
“Yeah, my USUAL energy levels, not when I’m running on an empty tank.“ Jack argues, swatting away the threatening hands of his friend. “Who is this Y/N person anyway? I never completely grasped what you were talking about. I’m so out of it, I haven’t been to string anything together.“
Dave huffs, “Where’s that Top of the Mornin coffee when you need it?” This collectively provokes a laugh out of all four of them. He follows that up with an actual answer to the asked question: “They’re our friend.”
“Actually, they are Corpse’s friend. Dave and I were just adopted into the dynamic. You’ll see, they’re a wonderful person.“ Felix adds.
Therefore prompting Corpse to throw his two cents into the ring.
“They’re not my friend.“
The simultaneous halt of two pairs of feat causes a scraping sound to echo in the humid air, soles of four shoes scraping against the asphalt.
“What?!“ Seems the two weren’t gonna cut the synchronization there, now speaking in unison as well.
“You heard me.“ For the smugness with which the sentence was said, it’s surprising that both men are still in shock while Jack is just confused. And sleepy. Not a good combination to be dealing with their crap.
“Yeah we heard you, that’s why we’re fucking dumbfounded!“ Dave points out, his voice sharp.
“Hey guys, can we at least sit down to have this conversation?“ Jack attempts but there’s no answer to his plea. There’s no room for it amidst the tension that’s risen between the two downright furious men and their smirking friend.
“So?“ Corpse has the audacity to mutter
“So?!“ The two repeat like a set of angry parrots, creating a sight Jack’s brain is loopy enough to find utterly comical to the point of breaking out in small fits of laughter.
“So what? What’s so wrong with a friend becoming something more?“
Now that shushes them up very quickly. Although the confusion has deepened, at least the anger has subsided.
And Jack’s still laughing in the background, now leaning against a lamp post. No, hugging a lamp post.
“What?“ “What’s that supposed to mean?“ The questions, while again spoken simultaneously, at least don’t match fully. But the Irishman still cracks up harder.
“You heard me.“ The cocky little shit smirks AGAIN.
“Corpse, if you say that one more fucking time, I swear to-“
Dave’s threat is cut off when the man in question raises his hands up in surrender, “Fine! Y/N is no longer my friend because they’re now my romantic partner, ok?! Significant other or lover, if you will. There! Can we all calm down now, please?”
And everyone has indeed calmed down, at least for a second. A second filled with sizzling silence, waiting to explode with excitement when the information is processed by the three brains.
Surprisingly enough, the first to do so is the fuzziest of the bunch. And it clearly has processed it in an equally fuzzy way.
“Corpse and Y/N sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G“ Jack sings and now it’s the other three’s turn to crack up into howling laughter on the side walk which would be more than enough cause for a few odd stares had they not been the only ones there.
That’s right, dear reader, our protagonists are done playing the Are, Were game. You, Y/N, are a lucky person and so is your boyfriend. God forbid you had strung your friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story any further, you would’ve given Felix and Dave a synchronized heart attack.
All is well, the end ;)

Character bingo: tinker Tom
skjsbdhskfkdnjdjd my first post self destructed before i could actually post it but i’m going to attempt a rewrite T-T
Tumblr media
thomas “tinker tom” weatherby is my baby precious. my adopted son. i’d shrink him and stick him in my pocket and give him scavenged wires and screws to play with and protect him with my life. he’s just so clenches fist great.
and the thing is, he’s one of the most upbeat at HQ, but he’s got easily one of the most tragic stories out of all the humans in the railroad. his family farm was wiped off the map by an institute grenade, and he was recruited 2279, but he was such a genius that he basically got immediately promoted to HQ. however within a year, he was beginning to show a level of psychological instability that was worrying carrington, who attributed the problems cropping up to the stress tom was under. dez ultimately decided he was too essential to let go, but you can tell by what she says about it at the time that the guilt was eating at her (“god help me, i’m keeping him on”). the more stress he took on, the more he hit the chems, the more unstable he became. the others are genuinely concerned and don’t know what to do, but i doubt any of them are qualified enough to know how to help him.
he’s just a sweet guy and deserves a better hand of cards than the shit one life dealt him. i wish there were options to help “side” characters like him with personal stuff the way you can with some of the companions. i genuinely can’t imagine how many nightmares and night terrors he has on a regular basis. his family farm was wiped out by the institute, he was at the switchboard, he’s witnessed so much death and destruction, and he’s barely keeping it together as is. i think that’s why most of the HQ crew lets him get away with so much. i mean, he injured terry testing the railway rifle, (terry’s also suffered other ill effects from tom’s tests) but that doesn’t stop the others from helping him out even if they don’t understand it. you spend enough time in HQ bumping into NPCs in your way, the “tinker tom’s got me doin’… something” starts to brand itself on your brain. they don’t know what the hell it is they’re helping with, they’re just going with it.
also, obviously, deacon’s pretty soft on the guy. jokes about being reluctant in having to tell tom he was right about the aliens. leaves little notes to troll tom on his terminal. comes along on MILA missions even though they are, by definition, up really high, and he has a fear of heights which he’s very candid about. the fact that he likes it whether you choose to take tink’s shot or not tells me he gets why you might not want to take it (because frankly it’s insane), but he also likes if you play nice and go along with tom’s conspiracy.
if we would have gotten the option to help him with any of his personal issues, that would have made me really happy. even if it just meant convincing him to seek help from a doctor with a little more tact and expertise in psychology than carrington. hell i’d take just being able to get him a teddy bear to sleep with. i know games have serious limits, but even if they did a little side quest that was actually personal, i would have enjoyed that.
TL;DR i really love tinker tom and he’s yet another character i’ve adopted

I think at the end of the day, no matter how much you may love Limbus Company; I feel like you probably understand and agree with the concept of the idea that it absolutely could have just been another $60 full release game like LoR or LC rather than being a predatory "name your own price" title gacha game that was sold to us as "we want to give you something back for funding our future projects" when we have no idea what projects, if any; are even being worked on that aren't LCB and what the fundraising goals are for those.
Like I'm not even going to get into the whole discourse of what happened a bit ago revealing the fact they're not just an "uwu small indie group" anymore and all that because that doesn't even change anything here.
Limbus Company isn't inherently a bad game at all, sure I don't necessarily care for (or even understand fully) the mechanics at play in it's system; but those mechanics are made infinitely worse when you bring in the FOMO. FOMO that is, inherently; and entirely unnecessary. With seasons, time limited gacha, and side story events that constantly demand more of your time; and if you care to complete them easier or collect/have everything the game has to offer; your money. I get it, you can use your friend's characters so then you just have to befriend a whale or two and you should be fine right? Well no, there's limitations on that; and even if you go that route you don't keep those characters.
With some of the characters just being inherently better than others the game DOES become harder (even if it's able to be done by some top player entirely F2P that's not the point. I ran LoR where I only used the starting deck and 1 librarian up until Love Town, that doesn't mean it was easy or that you SHOULD play that way! It drove me insane but it was a self imposed challenge and I never even cleared Love Town that way given how the game functions) for players who don't want to shell out and buy gacha; and yes they do give you a good amount of pulls and if you happen to be unlucky that's just tough. You get what you get and try to make the most of it if you won't hand over your money.
So then let's go back to the idea that, when you do give your money to PM they're using it to further produce more of what you love, right? Well... kind of? If you exclusively love Limbus Company then sure. Those of us who got left behind and don't have everything we need or don't understand the system well enough can't even get to the current story chapters because the game's difficulty is fucked if you don't bother to learn it extensively enough. Now I don't have anything against a hard mobile game but at least in the past if you weren't good at the management simulator or you didn't understand how to build a deck; us mod creators and the like had you covered. Now you're stuck looking up videos on youtube or reading posts on tumblr that you just kind of have to hope aren't fandomizing half of the information.
I don't know man it feels fucked to me. I'm glad people enjoy Limbus and all that, but I feel like we're not going to see another mainline actual single player non-micro transaction game from PM and that feels shitty after loving this franchise for years. I feel like my special interest was taken from me by the company who made the damn thing in the first place all because I wasn't able and willing to shell out hundreds of bucks since I happened to be in a rough spot during it's launch.
Which is all the more upsetting since I genuinely do like the characters, the music, the atmosphere and setting of Limbus Company; it seems cool and I was really excited to have a continuation of Lob Corps after effects on the world. It's a shame I won't ever get to experience it.

My Thoughts on 6.5! (Note: Spoilers.)
Hey everyone :)
A little background on me - I'm a new player as of late Shadowbringers from World of Warcraft. I know, I know! A scary WoW player. Rest assured, I'm a roleplayer, and not an elitist. I did like PvE content in WoW, but I prefer story building and roleplay. I'm an author, after all!
Anyhow, with that in mind, I admittedly wasn't a huge fan of 6.5 MSQ. What was intriguing about the 6.x series was how Zero's character was challenging the notion of voidsent being just evil in the MSQ. We've seen instances in side content where this is the case, and in fact emphasized - a lot of All Saint's Wake stuff comes to mind (speaking of which, where's the info on it for this year? I'm dying to know!). However, in this instance, Zero's story in my personal opinion really did not end well at all. It was the typical 'defeat dark with light' and 'cure the void'. We went from a half-voidsent hero with a cool, unique aesthetic to just another paladin. I don't mind stories where a darker character goes lighter... in a vacuum. When it's repeated over and over and never in the reverse, to show the 'dark' stuff can be used for good too, though, it gets SUPER old. Why can't we have a paladin/light user switch to 'dark magic' and be a hero? (I know it happens a lot in side content, but I'd want to see it as a highlight of a story for once.) The "Warrior of Darkness" thing they did in Shadowbringers was super neat! But it was, all in all, in TITLE only, not actual lore. The Warrior of Light/Darkness didn't switch unless it's your OC lore that it happened.
All in all, I was disappointed. Any nuance she had went out the window with that generic, predictable ending, and Golbez's arc was waaaay too rushed to be satisfying at all. One could argue he's the 'good void user' or something, but I honestly don't buy it. Meanwhile, Zero's character design changed greatly too. I rolled my eyes hardcore while her scythe broke. Sigh. Plus, what happened to Zero's camp where she was helping voidsent? Voidsent not (as) aggressive? I wanted to see more of them and help them... with Zero (before she became a paladin). They just... left that there. No closure at all. Ugh. One could say everyone there was killed by Barbariccia but i thought they were all freed once she was slain?
Anyway, I was told 6.5 was a callback to FFIV or something, but I've not played any other games and have no interest in doing so. FFXIV has my interest and the reliance on nostalgia in stories is kinda meh. I dunno. Maybe these portions of the game aren't for me, but it's just... disappointing. It doesn't make it a good story. To me, it just wasn't.
(For WoW fans - the story reminded me of Calia & Lothraxion. Somewhat of the blood elf story as well. I'd say Lightforged Draenei, but they're not the dark to light trope so much as just fanatical light users.)
I liked the Myths of the Realm better, but I've seen the community voicing their distaste for what happened, and while I actually enjoy a huge chunk of it, the ending left me feeling very hollow. I've figured out why that is now, too.
I think one of my 'dislikes' even if I like the overarching story of the Myths of the Realm is that we just met everyone, and they all left. I sort of wish it was more 'hey we need a break, can you help us so we can take it? We want to become normal mortals for a little while and learn more about the world in person'. While remaining the gods and gathering power again so they can help more effectively.
I dunno. That would have been a more satisfying ending for me as opposed to them all essentially dying and leaving us with… no gods. It just feels really sad that after all these near world-ending exterminations, now the gods leave. I understand why - they need a break. But yeah… I kinda wish it was done that way 😭 Because I hate meeting a character, loving that character, seeing personification of very powerful entities… and having to say goodbye right away. It just feels really sad. I guess that's the point, but yeah.
I don't mind they were originally people and morphed by beliefs, but I also wish there were hints that peoples' faith were forming new gods (that again - would retain personalities and humble-ness stuff.)
Because after thinking about it for some time, it just feels kinda sad that they're needed the most now, after the world was nearly exterminated, and now they're saying goodbye :s It feels like now more than ever is the perfect time for them to do what they'd understood they should be doing for the world and helping people.
Alternatively, choosing new gods/passing the baton onto someone to help. Choosing your own fate is great and all, but with many people being faith-based (something I don't see as a bad thing - but I'm polytheistic irl) it would have felt better. I would have really enjoyed this option, it could have started a new era and still upheld the faith of the people of Etheirys. To include the tribal deities as well, as opposed to just strictly putting down peoples' primals.
Anyhow. Endwalker had its ups and downs to me. I don't hate it, it was the first expansion I played through with everyone else, after all. Ultima Thule was interesting, I wish we saw more of it. Hated Garlemald at first, but then the sidequests and RP with my friend really opened my eyes and showed me far more nuance with them in general, which was neat. The ending boss was lackluster, and I thought Zodiark was being built to be a WAY bigger threat than he was.
I know it's trendy to hate on Endwalker, and that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm just sharing my thoughts on why the postpatch story felt really off and disappointing to me. I left WoW Shadowlands because of the horrible, abysmal lore. I really hope FFXIV doesn't take that path, and Dawntrail is treated better.
We're going into it with some rushed, 'tied up loose ends' and a favorite part of the game for me with much intrigue (the void) essentially 'to be fixed fine and dandy' or something. I dunno... it just... meh. It does remind me of my disappointment with Shadowlands, and just how horrible that was fucked up, but not as badly, at least.
FFXIV has the benefit of housing for RP though, and me and my RP partner taking our own paths in the story with super intricate plotlines, so there is that. A lot of the side quest content has been phenomenal even if MSQ has let me down bigtime lately. I still love this game and will be playing it. After all, I need to grind PotD and get my Necromancer title on one of my OCs. That...and grind a bunch of my alts up through EW. I know, I'm a crazy alta-holic.
Oh! I will mention one thing I did like about the postpatch EW story though. The dragon, and Vtra being reunited with his sister. That was pretty neat, I did like that. Super cute, and lovely. Good riddance to Zero who I originally adored and was intrigued by, and who now is just another paladin. Hello to a new dragon friend, I guess.
Edit: Also, I probably am coming across as someone who just 'hates the light'. I don't, and think it can be cool to depict either fire or warmth in the light, and the 'light at the end of the tunnel', but when it's repeated over and over as 'the light will defeat the evil darkness' in common media including beyond FFXIV, it just gets tiresome. Again, I'm coming from WoW, which is another game utterly notorious for doing that. We also see it in D&D. It's a common trope in FFXIV in general and I adore seeing signs that hey, maybe this portion of the story will break it, only to be disappointed.
At least we got to see Sin Eaters as bad in ShB. Hell, I'd even like to see some sin eaters take the lore-route of voidsent - some being good, some being bad. It sucks that there currently isn't any lore for that right now, so in that case, I would like to see some nuance and development there, because it'd be really cool to see variants in that aspect too. Trust me, I wish for the 'I hope the extreme end of this can be good as well' too.

TV Show - CSI: Las Vegas
Tumblr media
As mentioned in the last post about Dr. House, I felt like watching a crime series. The temptation was strong because Prime added the first three seasons of Rizzoli & Isles to its program. But I decided to go with CSI: Las Vegas because it's been longer since I last rewatched it compared to Rizzoli & Isles.
Right in the first two episodes, I notice a lot of details, and I might end up writing a lot about them. Let's see how long I can keep it up!
One thing that stands out right away is the age of the series. And by that, I don't mean a specific year but the aspect ratio, which is still in 4:3. 16:9 will come later, but I can't remember exactly when. I'm curious to find out.
Catherine Willows already shows character traits here that will later drive me crazy. I remember finding her very demanding in the later seasons. She always comes up with arguments to bend the rules so she can break them later. However, in the successor format CSI: Vegas, she becomes interesting again.
During the autopsy scene where Grissom and Nick help, you could see the eyes of the millionaire blinking. I always find such details interesting. Sometimes you can see the "corpses" moving their chests, the carotid artery pulsating, or a body part moving. If I remember correctly, some shots use a still image to avoid such mistakes.
We still miss important characters like Super Dave and Doc Robbins. But one person we see very early on is the firearms specialist Bobby!
I also noticed Grissom's mood during the dummy experiments, which reminded me why I find him so intriguing. He's a man of facts, and as the series progresses, he becomes less and less able to deal with society and its quirks.
Voices are another topic because we have two very distinctive voices right from the start, one of which stays with us. Holly Gribbs is voiced by Sandra Schwittau, who is the German voice of Bart Simpson, played by Nancy Cartwright. Nick Stokes (George Eads) is voiced by David Nathan, who is not only one of the most distinctive German voices but also the regular voice of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.
I'm thrilled to be back in Vegas, to see how everything unfolds, what cases they work on, and what questions arise. Because I already have one question: Even though Warrick was overseeing Gribbs since she was new, no one asks what happened to the officer at the crime scene where Holly was shot. Sure, Brass was reassigned, but that's about it. I find it extremely strange. (Although I'm aware that this is used to show the tragedy surrounding Warrick's character!)
Otherwise, the first season is always the most interesting because this is where the series is still finding itself, and many things are still changing. There's a lot to discover and admire, especially when it comes to the development of the characters.
I'll also thoroughly enjoy all the special effects because many of them were created without CGI, and practical effects are still among the best because they are tangible and provide a sense of depth that CGI simply can't achieve. I know, it's a big debate, but it's like photography. Digital photography is great, no doubt, but that final step to achieve exactly what's possible in analog photography is still missing. It's not much, and I know both sides very well, but it's just that tiny bit that's still missing!
In the German version, when Nick talks to Sanders, it's briefly mentioned or asked if Sanders is already playing the "Football game on Dreamcast." Once again, it shows that someone involved in writing the dialogue didn't have a clue. That always annoys me. Either video games look terrible in movies/shows, or they mix up everything and leave out details.

Hi again dearie~ Sorry but I don't know if you posted anything about it, but, do you have any of your beautiful theories on as to Why, the MC doesn't remember making the deal with Jack when they met him?
It's really raking my brain on if it's important, that they remember or not, and as to what caused them to forget and the reason behind it....
Gosh, you really flatter me with such high praise. Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy my theories so much. 💖
The fact that MC can’t remember what happened is quite interesting. We, the players, are given glimpses in both versions of the demo of at least some of the initial conversation between MC and Jack. The fact that we don’t get to see it all and that MC forgets it hints to me that whatever happened that day resulted in their special bond.
There’s not enough clues to indicate what exactly happened, but I do have my own personal headcanon that I’m using for Sunshine in Hell. I’ve briefly mentioned in past theories among other topics that I think Jack and MC made a deal that created a bond between their souls. Specifically, they have a piece of each other’s souls.
The reason why I think this is because of the threatening monologue Jack gives an unknown person. He mentions that a piece of him is in a place the person can never reach and it’s growing bigger and stronger. In the “no” route he “taking some part” of MC. I think this piece mentioned in both cases is a piece of their souls, which creates the connection.
Considering consent and Jack being literally unable to do anything MC doesn’t want is a big part of the story, this leads me to believe that MC willingly agreed to this exchange. They can also choose to end the deal at any time.
Now... given Jack might be able to make MC black out, as we’ve seen after their conversation with Ian, it’s possible that he intentionally made them forget the deal. This would obscure the details of it and the limits of what they both can do while minimizing the risk that they might choose to end the deal.
However, what I personally believe happen was that it was an unintentional side-effect of the deal. Jack has spent the past 40 years having his soul tormented in hell. MC has not had their soul meddled with. I think having a piece of their souls exchanged was too much for MC to take and they blacked out from the pain. I mean... we’re talking literally taking a piece of their soul and replacing it with someone else’s. Trauma from intense pain can lead to memory loss, hence why they forgot their first meeting with Jack and the deal they made.
Why it doesn’t cause the same amount of pain in the “no” route when Jack is taking more is probably because their souls are already bonded. It’s possible that he could make the process painless at that point, as he did surround them in a thick cotton candy haze that made it hard for them to think. It might even have been done specifically to avoid making them experience the same level of pain as before when making their bond deeper... with their consent of course.
Why doesn’t Jack tell them the deal? Well... I think we can all agree that MC would have probably freaked out suddenly having a giant clown in their apartment without any memory of who he was or how he got there. If he tells MC about the deal without them remembering that they agreed to it might make them choose to undo the deal, thus sending him back to hell.
Jack can’t let that happen.
Sure Jack is keeping secrets from MC and in ways lying by omission, but someday they’ll understand... they just have to trust him. It’s for the best. He just wants what’s best for them, and what’s best for them is if they stay together... forever.
Anyway, this is just what I think is going on. I could be totally wrong here. We’ll just have to see when the full game comes out when the truth is finally revealed...

mShenko appreciation post...
So... I usually (ejem... better said always, if I'm being honest XD) choose femShep in Mass Effect.
Long story short, I like to play characters in my own gender... Kinda helps a lot with the immersion, despite the fact that I look nothing like my main Shep. And, in the wise words of my brother: "If I'm gonna have to stare at an ass for hours of gameplay, I prefer it to be a woman's ass" (Nothing against men ass' on my part though... I mean, I'm a Kaidan stan 😳😳😳 but I'm week when it comes to females curves ehehehehehe sue me XD)
Anyways... Butt thing aside, I always play femShep. And the same femShep, Mio Shepard. Because I got the fanfic writer disease back when I was like 13 years old and I haven't found the cure yet, so... All I play, write and draw (because I didn't have enough obsessions already lol) related to the main ME trilogy is about my main shep and Kaidan.
I swear I'm about to make my point, stay with me for a little longer XD
Thing is, with the launch of MELE, I decided to see the mShenko romance for the first time (yep, first time... I imagine you can already tell, but I'm that kind of person that once she likes a game, she plays it a 1000 times but always in the exact same way and making the same choices in every single run).
So here we are, a year later, and here's the post about it 😅😅😅
As I told you before, I tend to focus on fShenko. I love the Shenko fandom as a whole, but from what I've seen and from the people I follow, fShenko is in need of more help, support and content than mShenko (I may be wrong here... but the moment your femshep likes dudes people tends to scream at you why you shouldn't be with Kaidan and my mission in life is to always be there to reply that idgaf about how many aliens they think I should bang XD)
Said all that, mShenko.
It's fucking awesome.
Period.
Like... Truly amazing.
Mesmerizing.
Tumblr media
(sorry... I had to XD)
I may be biased here, because Kaidan's arc with his sexuality is very similar to my own, but, the whole "At the end of the day, I'd love you no matter what gender you were" is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my whole life.
I was also very surprised by the amount of differences there were between both romances... Both of them top tier. And, against all my expectations, I can comfortably say that they are equally good. So if you love Kaidan and you've only seen one side, I really recommend you to check the other (learn from my mistakes ehehehehe although I think I've enjoyed mShenko 10 times more than I would have before making a few discoveries about myself... so I'm kinda happy it took me so long. Now it feels more special to me <;3)
fShenko has all the young, pure~ish, forbidden, cute and heart-racing vibes in ME1 *chef's kiss* and then (after a bit of angst) you have the mature, long-lasting, I'd die for you romance that we all deserve.
mShenko, on the other hand, is more Kaidan focused in my opinion, which I truly like, and his realization of what is love (🎵) and what Shepard really means for him, which I find extremely cute and beautiful.
And I'll admit, I'm the first to complain about Bioware (perks of being a forever resident of the shenko vortex) but I have to congratulate them on the way they wrote mShenko in ME3.
I really thought it would be ultra cringy and forced, because that kind of evolution is not the easiest to write, but I was sooooooo wrong and I'm sooooooo glad that I was. So yay~ to Bioware on this one!
So, yup... I wanted to do a quick post and here we are now, an hour later ehehehehehe 😅😅
Anyways, and to wrap this up, just sharing an opinion (or ten) here... I was just thinking about it today and I felt like writing a post about it (there's always room for more Kaidan appreciation posts <3).
If you ever wanna talk with me about our beautiful canadian marshmallow pm me, tag me, etc. If you respectfully disagree, feel free to tell me how you feel about all of this in a comment. And if you disrespectfully disagree (I don't think that's a term that exists but I'm gonna use it anyways XD) feel free to ignore me and go on with your life, it's not that difficult.
That's all, I think...
Hope you have a lovely day/night.
Imma go to bed and read some fanfics before I fall asleep.
bye bye!!

The lack of origin for the Inquisitor is a crime. And the fact they made the Conclave a menu screen was so disappointing. The Warden's story is impacted by how their origin played out (like a Mahariel does not want to leave their clan but Brosca happily goes with Duncan). We know Hawke's backstory and what brought them to Kirkwall. The Inquisitor? Complete blank slate. And unless you headcanon a lot during the playthrough, they remain such for the remainder of the game.
I mean, we are given a huge amount of freedom with the Warden, which to be fair would be really hard to do with Quiz what with Bioware having to pay four separate VAs to voice each and every line; the Warden not being voiced allows for a lot more varied dialogue than is feasible when you have VA salaries to take into account. Whether or not they want to be a Warden or not, whether they want to be a hero or not, whether they want to leave their home or not, you can take every Warden in any direction you want! Their origin will colour the events of the story, but ultimately it's the player who decides whether they're happy, furious, miserable, or what about the situation. Hawke is considerably more set, I mean they can only have three personalities, and their backstory is pretty well fleshed out in canon (which might be part of why I like them the least of the protagonists). But Quiz really is completely blank. Even the dialogue options are usually pretty bland! You're not allowed to be more than mildly quirky at most! One thing I do like about DAI is that that blankness does create a huge amount of room for headcanoning and writing your own story for your character (I love Alaris just so damn much, Blorbo from my imagined better version of DAI), but if you'd rather enjoy your character in the game you'd better like 'blandly nice and diplomatic', 'blandly funny and sarcastic', or 'blandly blunt and aggressive', because that's all you're getting!
And poor Quiz really does get shafted by Bioware's determination to paint the Chantry and Templars as heroes, since it leaves them cut off from the important characterization point of the Warden and Hawke that is "mages or Templars"; either Quiz is a good little Chantry pet (which... gets uncomfortable fast if you play a non-human and/or a mage), or they can at most make a few vague comments about how maybe the Templars aren't perfect and maybe mages aren't pure evil that they'll drop the second they face pushback from one of Bioware's special favourites. It leaves them feeling either hollow and spineless or just not very nice. And a side effect of the lack of any real in-game personality leaves them often feeling vaguely resigned to the situation at best even if you play them as cool with the Herald of Andraste/Inquisitor stuff, which just leaves the whole situation at best only slightly uncomfortable since Quiz never seems to actually choose to take part in the Inquisition (and of course if they try to choose not to take part they're forced into it by the in-universe characters around them and the game never addresses that again, which continues to be just so bad, the fact that Duncan will force the Warden to join up whatever they say, do or want is an important part of his character but Cassandra will all but openly say she'll give you to the Chantry for execution if you refuse and then the rest of the game just goes "Aw she's a big softie really :)" about it, come on).
