You know. If Crocodad Real. How would Luffy even react if he found out. Like really, how the fuck would he feel about it.

'Cause like how I went over in this post (briefly at the end), we don't even know how Luffy feels about Crocodile as he is right now, so can you imagine how that bombshell would impact things

Like my running theory is that Luffy still hates Crocodile but maybe not quite as much as pre-Impel Down since he kiiinda owes him etc

And Luffy does not seem to give a shit about blood connections, at least not that much. Like don't get me wrong, Luffy's family are the people who were there for him when he was a child, those are the people he cares about and his bio-parents don't really matter. But also, honestly, I think the reason Luffy doesn't give a shit about who his parents are is because he doesn't know them. Luffy cares about people who he knows and likes, and while he doesn't give a shit about Dragon right now, it's arguably because he simply just doesn't know him. If the two actually get to meet and know each other, like if Luffy takes a liking Dragon, he'll probably accept Dragon as his dad and as his family. But on his own terms. It's up to Luffy to decide

And that's why like. How would Luffy react to finding out he has another dad and that one is fucking Crocodile. Because he already hates the man. It would not be happy news for him I'm sure

The other thing is that normally Luffy does not give a flying fuck about people's sad backstories. He didn't care to hear what happened to Nami and her village for example, because what really mattered was that there was a person he cared about who was deeply hurt and in danger and he wanted to help said person. And that's where I'm so torn. Because on one hand, it would be perfectly on-brand for Luffy to not give a shit of Crocodile had a sob story to tell. But also, I could imagine Luffy being so fucking confused over the news that he'd want to hear the truth of like, who what where how why, in detail. So that, you know, he could make his own decision and figure out if he wants to considder Crocodile is other dad or disown him.

Like, both feel like things Luffy would do

So really, would the real deciding factor might be just... the circumstances where Luffy finds out???

God knows, I can not imagine Crocodile himself telling Luffy anything ever. The kid already hates him, he knows it, so he'd probably think it'd be for the best if Luffy never found out

So how else could Luffy find out then?

As far as we know, the only other person who could confirm it would be Dragon himself, and considdering how he probably feels about his ex (see: Alabasta Coup Attempt), I can't imagine him wanting to talk about Crocodile to Luffy in lenght or in a positive light. Like I can't imagine Dragon wanting to tell Luffy at all is the point, not unless he wanted to like apologize to Luffy because it is arguably his fault Luffy and Crocodile fought in Alabasta to near-death to begin with. (Sidenote since we don't know how the break-up happened to begin with, it's totally possible Crocodile could've asked Dragon to never let their kid find out what happened to his "mom")

And now, this is where I'm gonna go completely off the rails, but. As I was wondering if there was any other way Luffy could find out...

S-Croc is made with Crocodile's DNA.

(And actually before I even go into S-Croc, super quick sidenote: If Kuma can extract memories out of people and allow other people to literally see them... Like I can't tell if Kuma's memories got absorbed by Bonney when she looked into them or if Kuma's Memory Bubble is still on Egghead, but if viewing the memories isn't the same as having them inserted into a vessel permanently... Like if Kuma isn't turbo-dead, could there be a scenario where we have Kuma (or S-Bear) yeet out Croc's memories and have Luffy just look into them? Because god knows Crocodile might just refuse to speak about it and that could be the only way to get The Whole Truth if Dragon doesn't want to talk about it either?) (Of course, Crocodile would understand just How Persistent Luffy is so if Luffy just kept on annoying him about it, Crocodile could maybe give up eventually because he knows he can't get Luffy to piss off until he spills the beans)

So currently the Strawhat's plan is for them to go and escort the Vegapunks to Elbaf (if nothing goes funny after the flashback is over, which remains to be seen)

2. There is the mystery of what sex S-Croc is going to be, because there is a possibility that if Crocodile is trans then his Seraphim could be pre-T (though this entirely depends on whether or not Ivankov's HRT changes even the DNA of person. Since it's MAGIC HRT I would prefer it to, not gonna lie, and I would not appreciate any "you may look different but your DNA will tell the truth!" rhetoric in the story but I may be asking too much from Oda)

3. And there's also the mystery of what Devil Fruit ability S-Croc might have, since all the Seraphim have been given Fruit powers, and we know Vegapunk can't replicate Crocodile's Sand Logia.

All things considdered, I think the actual, most likely known ability S-Croc might end up with would be like, Mr 3's wax powers (hilariously), mainly because I could imagine it being flexible enough to work in Crocodile's fighting style, so it'd be the easiest for S-Croc to adapt to (like if you can make anything from wax, then why not sharp blades to fling at people) (Also we know Vegapunk would have access to this power since Mr 3 was in Impel Down, when they also got Daz' powers)

But also I had joked before how it'd be funny if S-Croc was a Crocodile Zoan for no reason. Like it'd be fitting since Crocodile was already the Only Logia of the OG Shichibukai, so making his Seraphim the Only Zoan would be funny as hell (if it's even possible, which we can't say if it will/won't be). Additionally, making him a Crocodile Zoan would be hysterically on-the-nose.

(Sidenote: If there was a crocodile Zoan Fruit, what sub-category do you think it'd fall into? Like would it be Ryu Ryu like all the dinosaur-themed Zoans are, or maybe even a different model of Uo Uo (same as Kaidou)? Since "wani" could be considdered a different type of serpent-dragon, and if Vegapunk was researching how to recreate Kaidou's fruit, it's plausible he might've accidentally recreated some other related-fruit in the process or afterwards?? (Also since Kaidou's Uo Uo is a specific model (Seiryu) it would make sense if there was another Uo Uo model Fruit, and this could be an excelent opportunity to use it))

The thing about Zoans though is that, as it's been brought up once or twice before, Zoan fruits can kind of have a "mind of their own" and influence the user in unexpected ways.

Crocodiles are protective of their babies.

ALSO: The Seraphim do have enough personal will-power that they may (slightly) disobey orders they've been given. Case-and-point, S-Snake undoing the Petrification on the Strawhats after Luffy asked her to, since S-Snake is fond of Luffy just like Hancock is

Sidenote, it was kind of made a point how Vegapunk considdered his artificial replica of Kaidou's dragon fruit a compete failure simply because instead of a blue dragon, the user would turn into a pink one instead. So if Vegapunk tried to make a Seraphim of Crocodile, knowing full-well he couldn't even give the Seraphim the same ability as the OG, and then the Seraphim turns out the wrong sex for no reason?? I could see him being confused as hell and considder S-Croc "a failed Seraphim"

So really, all we'd really need to happen would be for the Strawhats to somehow encounter the remaining three Seraphim while escorting the Vegapunks to Elbaf. Mind you, IDK how that could even happen since as far as we know they've been deployed the Emptee Bluffs

And then just have S-Croc either disobey orders to hunt Luffy or even even have him be protective of Luffy (following that Zoan Instinct, one even he can't explain, it's just Instinct). Have Sanji be like "hey why the fuck is this one a girl, isn't it supposed to be Crocodile", followed by Vegapunk explaining this Seraphim was a failure for reasons even he can't understand

Then have Jinbei remember the conversation Crocodile and Ivankov had at Impel Down (suspicious considdering Ivankov's abilities and this "failed Seraphim"), and maybe if Crocodile had any involvement with the Revolutionaries and Robin was suspicious of him she could even bring that up

Along with any other minor details that may be bothering the crew about the whole deal

And so if the Strawhats and Vegapunk just put all their braincells together and rubbed them real hard, they could maybe come to a hypothesis as to why S-Croc is a "failure" and protective of Luffy, and maybe even a potential explanation as to why The Real Crocodile was protective of Luffy in Marineford for no fucking reason

And maybe, just maybe, Vegapunk could confirm that suspicion with a DNA test. All he needs to do is check Luffy's and compare it to Crocodile's.

Not sure Luffy would want to do the DNA test, like knowing Luffy he might prefer to just ask Crocodile in person if they ever ran to each other again

But boy, if he somehow did agree to a DNA test, and there was a match... oh boy

But again. This entire scenario is BEYOND off-the-rails. Technically plausible! But honestly if Luffy is ever gonna find out (assuming Crocodad Real) then it's gonna be from Dragon

There is no discussion, he will not let you stay on your home island, you are being part of his crew whether you like it or not, because he wants to live adventures by your side.

An accomplice in his food thefts directly or indirectly, he always gets you involved in his discussions with Nami, he uses you as carte blanche to get out of Nami's blows unscathed because she wouldn't hit you, she knew when you got into trouble and most of the time you were just dragged.

You got your first wanted poster (because of him) and he hung it next to his, Ace and Sabo's.

Law

Well, you weren't really his biological sister, but he treated you like one, he met you after Corazon's death. You were only a few years younger than him but you helped him when he came to your island, he was a tough nut to crack, but he needed someone's help to survive and you opened the doors of your house to him, well, those of the orphanage.

He found himself more attached to you during those teenage years because you were the only person who took care of him when he passed out from exhaustion after so many hours studying medicine.

Then, years later, he asked you to be part of his crew, you had no connection to the island, so you accepted.

Now, he's not the cuddly type, you'll just get a hug from time to time, maybe when you're sick.

You don't get special treatment, at least not in the eyes of the crew, behind closed doors Law can be more open with you, be prepared for nights talking about his concerns.

Say goodbye to having some kind of simple and fleeting romance, this man will glare at anyone who seems to have the slightest interest in you, first of all he has to do his research on that person.

Very afraid of losing you, considering you family, he doesn't want you to suffer the same fate as Corazon, so the 'Doflamingo topic' is completely out of your hands.

He keeps you hidden from all danger so you won't get a bounty on your head, at least not so soon, the last thing he wants is unwanted attention towards you.

Eustass Kid

Being related to Kid implies being related to Killer equally, the only difference is that you and Kid shared the same blood, but the three of you were basically raised together.

Unlike them, you weren't a fan of fights, but you had to get involved in them because of them, at least you learned how to punch.

Kid is a proud asshole and he can't let his image and ego get spoiled by someone weak, so put on a tough stance because even if you're not as brutal as them, you'll have to look it.

Facing the public, he is totally closed to any type of contact, the rude boys don't give hugs. You've had so many arguments with him because of it, sometimes you think he just doesn't love you because it's hard to show his love for you.

Killer always solves these fights between you two, he knows that you love each other but if you have something alike it's that you're just as stubborn, neither will give their arm to ask for an apology. He is the voice of reason for both of you.

Anyway, say goodbye to anyone who tries to conquer you, he will scratch out the eyes of anyone who wants to try to make a move with you, he is not going through those things, he knows how most relationships end and the least he needs is to see you cry for any useless bitch.

This leads to more fights because he's not even willing to negotiate if you can go out with someone he's been watching for a while for doing something suspicious.

The redheaded idiot cares about you, but none of that will come out, unless you're dying, because if he lives to see you dying he'll be on his knees crying like a fucking baby.

Age regression is a pretty niche thing to talk about, even more so back in the early 2000s. Gonna be real, bub, he's not gonna have any clue what you're talking about if you bring it up.

Seeing you regressed probably first happens as an accident, a stressful situation became too much and you just started acting differently. He wouldn't get it, watching you grow subtly more clingy and quiet, timid almost. He'd be concerned but he wouldn't ask questions at the time.

Assuming you brought it up later, he'd need you to explain it in at least three different ways, honestly. He's never personally experienced something like that(he thinks so anyway), which makes it hard for him to understand.

"Your brain just...makes you act like a kid sometimes? Why?" "Because my childhood was trash and it wants to find a way to cope. Being an adult is stressful, Bo." "...You got a point there."

After he's grown to understand it, he won't have any problems with it. Oddly enough, he'll slowly start to find it cathartic for himself. He'll find himself getting a lil dopamine boost whenever he starts noticing you doing something that signals you're teetering.

Won't indulge you in front of his brothers unless his brothers start to act kind of caregiver-ish. Bo don't share.

You will absolutely ruin the daddy kink for him. He can't hear the word in that context anymore and it makes him cringe when he does.

Bo doesn't like cartoons, he never really has. He's never really been a TV person in general, it tends to serve as background noise whenever he's doing something else. But he does have a habit of saying he won't be watching the show you're watching, then he'll just stand behind the couch, forgetting the task he was about to start.

Will probably tease you for liking My Little Pony, I'm not gonna lie. Nothing too mean though! He just likes making you all pouty.

He's kinda stingy about sharing you when you're small, but he'll allow his brothers to watch the show with you two if they want. Vincent probably likes the music, but he's not super into it. Lester might get more into it than you, actually, he likes pretty colors.

Vincent's favorite would be Twilight & Lester's would be a tie between Fluttershy & Pinkie Pie.

Once a group of tourists came into town in the middle of a long Two-Part episode and he missed most of it, so he drove into the city and just bought the CD of the entire season. FOR YOU, of course, TOTALLY NOT FOR HIM-

You turned back to the screen, watching the group talk about Fluttershy's "stare". With a little hum to catch his attention, Bo looked down, waiting for your words. "Who's your favorite?" You asked softly, voice picked up in pitch slightly. Bo rose an eyebrow and glanced at the screen. "Apple Jack, she's the only cool one." He said, unable to stop the smirk as you gasped. "Fluttershy's cool!" You insisted, turning to face him. "She's a wuss-puss, doll. Not cool." He taunted, chuckling as you tossed a pillow in his face. "Don't hate the messenger! I'm just saying the truth!" He chuckled as you smacked him with the pillow again, which he blocked with ease, snickering as you settled into his lap with a pout. "You take that back!" He held his hands up in a faux surrender position. "Alright alright, they're all cool. How about that?"

Your gaze narrowed suspiciously at him, slowly lowering the pillow back onto the couch. "Mmm okaaay-" "Except Fluttershy." Bo laughed again as your mouth dropped open in offense, blocking your hands from getting the pillow once more. Left without your weapon, he squeezed you tightly, leaving you unable to use your arms. "You traitor! Bully!" The man snickered as you fought against his strength valiantly, only to dramatically give up a minute later. "I'm too tired now. I'm sorry Fluttershy, I've failed you." You mumbled with a tiny frown. Bo rested his chin on top of your head with a chuckle. "I'm sure she'd appreciate your efforts, doll. Now finish your fruit, took me forever to cut'em into shapes, ya know." He said, grabbing the bowl. You hummed and tapped your chin as if you were debating, looking at the ceiling in thought. "My hands don't work." You said suddenly, dropping your hands into your lap.

Bo rose an eyebrow and tilted his head. "Oh they don't, do they?" He asked, watching you shake your head. "Nope, they don't work." You insisted. The brunet clicked his tongue and gave a somber sigh, putting a piece of fruit on the fork. "Such a shame." He said with an eyeroll, holding the fork to your mouth. You took the fruit and nodded intensely. "'S a shame!" You slurred, whining when he pinched your nose. "Don't talk wit'cha mouth full." He said, moving his head so yours could rest against his shoulder, getting another piece of fruit on the fork for himself this time. He looked back at the episode and narrowed his gaze. "...the hell is a cockatrice?" You laughed and shook your head, taking another strawberry off the fork. "You'll see, and it'll prove Fluttershy is the coolest!"

I remember all the handwringing over Reylo, how it would teach young girls that abuse was okay, how it would lead them to accept being mistreated, how liking him was as bad as a girl who thirsts over school shooters, etc. And yet look! Society has yet to become pro-abuse and the fans of the pairing who identify as women have not been murdered by their romantic partners en masse.

But despite this open contempt for the pairing, people also convinced themselves the only reason you could ship Kylo/any guy was hatred of women and not, y'know, trying to avoid the obsessed haters who had devoted anti-Reylo blogs for 5+ years. Also it was totally unhealthy of you to ship Kylo with anyone, said people with a dedicated blog where they discussed their hatred of a fictional man for half a decade, and you should get therapy for your sickness.

My personal least favorite moment of the the new trilogy fandom's plague of antis was them attacking a friend of mine. See, if you don't ship Finnrey, you're an anti-black racist (unless you ship Finnpoe in which case you are of course a misogynist fetishizing Poe, a space Latine). No one told my friend this, so she very obliviously drew some Finnlo, and all hell broke lose. People said it was like shipping a slave with a Nazi, that it demonstrated the dehumanization of black men by fandom, that it was akin to zoophilia since Kylo owned Finn, etc. It hit a peak of ridiculousness when someone self-harmed and sent my friend video of them doing so to show her how 'wrong' it was to ship the two.

My friend responded by contacting the parents of the person who self-harmed. Cue antis saying she was an adult harassing a minor. You know, because if one person is putting cigarettes out on themselves to spite someone on the internet and another person is saying "that's concerning", the latter is in the wrong, obviously.

I'm not even in this fandom but I support Reylo and Finnlo out of sheer spite at this point because I hated the manipulation and massive freakouts from the Finnrey crowd so much.

Sometimes people are going to ship something that's not your OTP and that's okay. It's not worth burning your skin off for.

Disconnected FNaF Rambles.

It turns out listening to FNaF 6 theme right before trying to go to bed was not a good idea and I had random thoughts about FNaF lore both incredibly early this morning and at normal hours. Enjoy.

Springlock Incident:

At what point did William get springlocked? Obviously at least five children died first. But had CC died yet? I know it sounds crazy, now that it's not 1am I can't as easily justify it as even a theory, but had the location closed by the time he got springlocked, idk.

Was William still able to speak trough Psychic Friend Fredbear after he got springlocked? What if Psychic Friend Fredbear was an early version of Glitchtrap that William created. Like... he put an AI into the plush and somehow or something.

Did Michael start bullying CC after the two became orphans? Where was William during all that if not springlocked? Was he off killing another child? Was he just chilling in an office with Henry discussing the future of the franchise?

Ballora:

Interesting thing I learned is that there's an Irish folktale monster called the Balor that unleashes destruction when opening its eyes. From this, we can obviously deduce that Mrs. Afton is Irish. Kidding. Mostly. But. I mean... Moving on from the Balor.

Obviously, there's some sort of connection between Ballora and Mrs. Afton (I'll just call her Clara because it's easier). After all those theories about their connection then putting a Ballora-themed STAFF bot at the STAFton family table is Security Breach? There's a chance that it's a red herring, there always is, but come on.

The does only provide more questions, if she definitely is meant to be connected, we can assume one of three things:

Ballora is made to resemble Clara

Ballora is possessed by Clara

Both.

We also don't know how exactly Clara died. I have heard that it's generally accepted that she drove off a cliff because that was something from the books, but nothing's been confirmed in the games. For all we know, William killed her and forced her to possess Ballora.

Circus Baby:

Even more of a mini theory, what if Circus Baby wasn't actually made to kill kids? Still capture them, of course, but not kill them. Killing them like that wouldn't have really made sense for Afton unless he was trying to figure out how many souls could possess an animatronic at once, right? Plus, just grabbing them probably generate a decent amount of agony already. If they were kidnapped, they could be put into other animatronics or experimented on.

So why did Circus Baby kill Elizabeth? Pretty much no evidence for this, but perhaps she was too old. I think it's generally accepted she was around 8 when she got killed, but I wouldn't put it past William to be targeting kids younger than that. Most kids that old were probably told to stay away and William stupidly thought they would listen.

Possession vs. Agony:

Is there a difference in the franchise? I can firmly say maybe! I think so. Most likely. I hope so. Agony results in Remnant which attaches to AI while possession just... ghosts possessing animatronic endos. Agony gives life to the metal while possession gives it personality, I think.

Gonna jump forward to modern FNaF for the last ramble. If Gregory was possessed by Glitchtrap, why would Vanny attack him? Is Vanny even attacking him? Maybe he was breaking free from the control. If you look at Vanny's jumpscare animation, she doesn't exactly look like she's about to kill Gregory.

But if not killing him, then what? Maybe by coming close she allows Glitchtrap to fully take over Gregory's mind and the jumpscare is just causing Gregory to become Glitchtrap's puppet?

There's seriously no aggression to it. Even in the trailer, she had a scarier jumpscare and earlier in development she even carried a knife! I have seen people say it was because they weren't 'allowed' because it was 'too violent', but was that ever confirmed? How do we know the story didn't change and back when all that GGY hadn't been thought up?

Moral of the story: Don't listen to FNaF music at 1am.

The Concierge

Will often have a hand warmer in their pocket. On really cold days, they will slip it into their glove to keep their hands extra warm to combat the stiffness.

Remembers people's names a lot easier than they do faces and will often just not call people by their name unless they know them well. It saves them the embarrassment, and unprofessionalism, of calling someone by the wrong name.

The Concierge's greatest strength and weakness is their loyalty. Ride or die, they will stand by your side. Even if you're in the wrong. They might question you, but ultimately they'll go along with what you want.

While coming across as having a nihilistic view of the world, the Concierge is of the firm belief that one good turn deserves another. And likewise that a transgression is owed another in turn.

They are very particular about the quality of their gloves - it must be thick enough to hide skin entirely, but thin enough that they can feel through them.

The Concierge's hands are very sensitive even with the gloves. They definitely like it when Sans kisses them.

Has never cared about their identity or their sexual preferences. They are what their handlers need them to be.

Has a very long history with the Manager that goes back to their days as an Emissary. Following the incident that ended their career as Emissary, they were offered the position of Concierge by the Manager. They accepted.

They're a workaholic. Doesn't know what to do if they have time to themselves with nothing on the agenda. They have been working their whole life.

Recovering alcoholic? Or just someone who doesn't like alcohol? Who knows. They're not going to tell.

Definitely has an audio fetish/auralism.

Sans

Very flirtatious and not afraid to spread his affections between his bedmates (at least until he starts to connect with the Concierge). Never had the same bedmate twice (again, before the Concierge).

The most sexually and romantically experienced of the three of them.

Serves as Asgore's Judge and spymaster. His network of spies extend past the monster community and into the human world. Money goes a long way.

Actually was really suspicious of the Concierge when he first met them - this actual person looks and feels more like a doll on strings, whose eyes are empty and dead and their smile so polite it can only be fake. It was so hard to get a reaction out of them that he really, really wanted to make them react to him.

Is as much of a slob as his other versions are, he just hides it a lot better. His room is an absolute pigsty. Everywhere else? Artfully messy without being disgusting. Somehow. Papyrus still hates it.

A functioning alcoholic in denial. Can't go a day without a drink. Rationalises it by saying that he only has one glass every day, but every other day it's a half a bottle, and the day after that a full bottle. Thinks he can go cold turkey but he really can't.

Not a fan of drugs, but can see that there's business in dealing/trafficking/manufacturing. Doesn't like to think that he's ruining lives with them, though.

The most ruthless and bloodthirsty of Asgore's lieutenants. Undyne and Papyrus would just kill them, while Alphys would keep them alive for experiments but ultimately is too soft to kill. Sans enjoys the bloodsport of it all and often requires Papyrus to rein him back in.

Very loyal to his brother. Will kill for Papyrus. Will die for Papyrus.

Loves the Concierge's hands because they kill so efficiently with them. He doesn't care that their hands have been weakened.

Secretly has a sock fetish.

Papyrus

The sensible brother.

Identified as aromantic asexual for most of his life. Men - meh. Women - meh. Unidentifiable gender due to the construction of their bodies and the nature of their being - meh. A wooden Concierge in a stunning outfit who can press him against the wall - smitten.

Despite his label, he's a romantic at heart. Wants to be swept off his feet by a gallant knight/prince/princess and doted on sweetly. Refuses to admit this to anyone and asking him this will result in a smackdown. He has a hidden bookcase in his room where he stashes his romance novels.

Really wants a cat but can't because he's terrified that the cat will choke on Sans' rubbish.

Learned to be ruthless and aggressive at Sans' knee, but he doesn't agree with Sans' version of aggression and his bloodlust. Believes that violence is the answer to all questions, but that violence should not be excessive. If he must kill someone, he will do so with one clean hit.

Loyal to the throne/monarch of monsters, not necessarily the person that sits on it. He greatly respects Asgore for leading them through tough times, but believes that Asgore makes for a better peacetime leader, and Toriel a wartime leader.

Has a good sense of style and will ensure that he dresses up neatly and nicely. His closet is massive and has a large range of clothes - most of them ones that he made himself. He definitely made some of Sans' smarter suits and repairs them when they get torn. Really wants to learn how to sew tactical lining so he can have a bulletproof suit.

He is more turned on by the mental aspect of the Concierge's dominance than he is the physical aspect. That being said, he really, really wants to be kabedon'd and/or pinned against the wall by the Concierge.

Very easily bullied. Secretly has a (gentle) humiliation kink.

Love your stuff, I had a question about your Caretaker Luke au. You've mentioned that if Luke chooses Anakin, he's essentially signing himself up for decades of loneliness and strained relationships with everyone in his family. Do you think that Anakin would ever have the self-awareness to recognize that he's hurting his son by being with him and either kill himself to spare Luke the burden or convince Luke to let the New Republic take custody of him, even if it means death? Idk, you have a lot of good takes on Anakin's general selfishness but I was curious to see if you think he's capable of making a decision like that.

Hi, thanks so much, I'm honestly really flattered that you like my interpretations of Star Wars!

I don't know if I personally think Anakin would be capable of getting to the point that he'd willingly remove himself as an obstacle for Luke. I don't think Anakin could actually make the choice to go back to the New Republic without Luke putting up a pretty major fuss over it. The decision's also already been made, so he'd have to get off the planet they're isolated on and go commit another crime in order to get the New Republic to decide to re-open the issue and given that Luke is supposed to be keeping him from doing EXACTLY THAT, this is not going to spare Luke from getting some consequences for failing. Which leaves one other option.

And I honestly don't know if Anakin could make that choice, at least not at the beginning of the whole affair. I think if Anakin is still wallowing in darkness because it's too hard to get himself completely out of it, he's not going to actually be able to make that choice. He wants to be with Luke, that's his primary motivator. He loves Luke, yes, but unless Luke's life is actively in danger, he doesn't seem to be inclined to actually go to that extreme. He WANTS to have that relationship with Luke, he WANTS to be father and son, he WANTS that connection. So even though I'm sure he recognizes that this can't be the life Luke actually wants, he'd be selfish enough to also relish in all this time alone with Luke, to know that Luke is effectively chained to him until he dies. Luke CAN'T abandon him, he can't go anywhere, he can't really maintain a lot of other connections or join the Jedi, and his focus is completely focused around Anakin.

And once Anakin finally starts to let go of some of that darkness and selfishness, I like to think he'd be able to recognize that dying in that way would hurt Luke and not be what Luke actually wants. He can't actually change the circumstances that are forcing Luke to be so isolated from the rest of the galaxy and his friends and family, but it's Luke's choice to stay. It's ALWAYS been Luke's choice to stay and the best thing he can do is respect Luke's autonomy. So once he's gotten to be less selfish, he still wouldn't make the choice to die just to spare Luke this burden because he's gotten to the point where he has to accept that the only alternatives available are all worse. He can't change what he's done, he can't change the fact that the Jedi and the New Republic don't trust him, he can't change that Luke loves him enough to take this burden on. All he can do now is make the most of this time they have together, to bond with Luke, to learn from Luke, to just... enjoy what life he has left, appreciate his bond with the Force healing from the damage he'd done to it, appreciate the world around him with new eyes, etc.

It's not perfect, for him or Luke, it's not the life either of them would have wanted or imagined for themselves when they were younger. But it is the life they've got, a life they've both chosen, for better or for worse. And Luke is a Jedi, learning to accept things as they are is part of the job. And Anakin isn't a Jedi anymore, maybe never truly was one in more than name, but he's trying really hard to be someone Luke might be proud of being related to, and that involves learning to finally accept things as they are rather than trying to force them to change to suit his desires. Nothing's ever perfect, that doesn't mean it can't be good.

Part of what Caretaker Luke AU ended up becoming was looking at how Anakin might react when forced into a situation where he's completely and utterly powerless, but without a lot of the pain that tends to come with that situation for him. He can't really DO anything in isolation, and he's hit a point where he doesn't even really want to. He doesn't really WANT to leave and go out in the galaxy and face what he's done, he doesn't WANT to lash out at Luke and lose the only person who still matters to him, he doesn't even truly want POWER anymore. And that's the kicker. For the first time in his life, he doesn't truly DESIRE power anymore. He's had it, more than once, in different shades and shapes, and it's really never done him any actual good. Having power and using it has pretty consistently led him to despair and loss, so he wants nothing more to do with it. A part of him probably does absolutely want to just nope the fuck out of there forever in the most permanent way possible, but a much larger part also desperately wants to stay with Luke and take advantage of the situation, so he can't even decide to die.

Which means all that's left is for Anakin to sit there and think about what he's done and figure out if he's got just enough strength left in him to face himself and let go. He's completely powerless to do anything but the one thing he's been running from his entire life. He might need a little help to actually do it, but despite everything, he DOES actually manage it. He lets go.

Bye bye old BTS

This video aged so badly, ngl..

Bighit and Hybe totally went the American popstar way in 2023 for 1 member. Good that they finally cracked into the US music industry bubble. Hope it helps the group as a whole with their 2025 comeback.

(For context, the above Boracity video explains how bts has been always snubbed due to their lack of US label push, lack of radio support, lack of playlist, spotify support, minimum remixes, fewer album versions, chart rule changes etc)

The problem is - they decided as a company (and with scooter) that the only way they can make it into the US gp, was to debut a soloist, with all english tracks (because there's no way US would accept more than 1 soloist from the same korean group singing korean songs).

One thing they got right was that the US GP would not embrace a whole Asian pop group. And releasing english songs is not something BTS would keep doing either, because they clearly have different individual ambitions. When it comes to pop, it's always the solo/ individualist culture in the US. It is much easier to sell one personality than sell 7 different ones to the GP. (the General Public, not army, not people who really get INTO bts and get obsessed).

So, I totally understand why they went for mainstream US popstar way for 1 member only and also because it aligned with his own personal ambitions.

But of course they made a couple of big mistakes-

1) Underestimating the popularity and OG fan power that can give chart ranks and achievements even to non-US promoted members and their music. (BTS have done it before with a korean song and jimin did it again).

2) While they paid attention to heavy promo, charts and playlisting for Golden, they failed to create a connection with the music- which seems highly non-personal and lacking in depth and has a non-interesting concept. The promo did do the work of making jk a common name, showcasing his talents and introducing him to the industry. But for a lasting impact, they have to create better stories with the music. Idc, army are acting too defensive when people are disappointed that he didn't write his songs. It's okay to not write, but the very least singers can do is connect to song meanings and relate to personal experiences during the promos. But thanks to idol culture, jk has never been able to talk about his dating experiences. Even in the interviews, it would have been nice to see him talk about how he related to the lyrics, what the concept was etc etc.

SILVER LINING:

The constant mention of 'ARMY' by JK in all of his US promo stuff. I do see Hybe's bigger plans here. JK is a medium to bring in new fans for BTS's comeback. When they look up JK's past content, they can't do it without learning about BTS. And it doesn't matter if you are a JK solo fan, you will still be called ARMY (BTS fandom). Hybe will still call you army, even if you are just waiting for more Jungkook music and Jungkook shows. But guess what, the next time these new fans get to see Jungkook will be at a BTS CONCERT. Not a Jungkook concert.

More thoughts..

JK concert will come immediately after though. Why do you think they increased the no. of tracks in Golden when the original plan was to release a mini album? It's to collect more songs for his name. A few more releases and he'll be ready to have his own concert.

Okay final thoughts-

Hybe is going the right way from a business perspective. But they have mismanaged a lot of things. Underestimated the power of individual members and fumbled their priorities. BTS are not underdogs anymore. They are big, and whether you like it or not, Hybe is going to move like a big corporation now, revenue being top priority, not artists. If they don't strike a balance between keeping OG OT7 fans happy, the significance of ARMY will be lost. Unless...they want that to happen and do not care about the fandom that moves on its own now.

And before you camp in my asks or comments, saying the same things about sabotage, company fraud etc, I am aware of it all. Please do share your opinions that can add to this discussion.

An Ode to Angie Beneviento

Okay, so this actually will be a semi-serious post. LIKE I know I don't usually post serious stuff unless its an angst edit HOWEVER it IS Angie's birthday and she actually is a very important character to me. Obviously not the most important character to me though, that's Donna, but that is another post for another birthday.

But... I really love Angie's route. And it's really important to me. And anyone who knows me knows that I'm not really an open person about serious stuff (I THINK?? sam if you read this tell me pleak) or I'm talkative, but I think this is worth putting out there. Especially because of how much it means to me.

I'm ace. Like this really isn't me coming out, like I've always kind of been out as ace?? But I never really said it either on here but like I am ace and I never tried to hide it at least. This is so odd like this is kind of like me coming out. But it isn't. BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT. I just need to say that so this makes more sense.

Seeing Angie just straight up say she's asexual just made me feel so happy.

I can't tell you a single other ace person in media that (that isn't Todd from Bojack or also aromantic), and just seeing someone really silly like me? That made me feel so nice.

I tried to wish away me being ace before. Like, completely fine with the gay and non-binary stuff for the most part, but being ace? Hated it. Like, I don't like ess e ex (I really don't want this post to be hidden because I used the word), nor did I ever really have an interest in it. And I didn't want to have an interest in it really. Kind of? It's complicated.

I wanted to be like the others really. I've had relationships before where I hate myself for being ace, because I have never had an ace partner, and I just will never be enough for them because of that (minus the one time I did have an ace partner, but they were very disliking of physical touch which I do love). I used to try to convince myself that I can just stop being this way, I can change for them, all so they wouldn't leave me. I was ashamed of being this way, despite being so usually proud of my other parts of my identity. There was even a time when one of my exes tried to convince me that I wasn't ace too, but definitely didn't make this situation worse. I just didn't like being this way.

Although, it wasn't as strong when I started playing Resident Lover + when I got into my current relationship. Like, I am fairly fine now. Yeah, I still kind of do feel bad for being ace but like? Who cares? I mean I do but I know them and I know she would never hate me for that, it's just perfect. I love them so much.

But I still always have those thoughts. And I'm not saying Resident Lover completely eradicated those thoughts... but they did help them.

Seeing Angie just... openly say she's ace and set her boundaries and MC just accepting it? It was like. Amazing. I never really saw something like that (Todd from Bojack does NOT count, he is a guy. And I am not a girl either but I feel closer connected to girls because they're so much sillier and nice plus also like Angie more).

It was just so nice seeing representation that I hadn't really seen before, and one where I could see a character get into a happy relationship with someone they really love, and it all work out. Angie helped me accept being ace, she's helped me being proud of it, unlike any character before (okay sorry Todd). And, it's her birthday. And not that many people in this fandom appreciate her. And I know not that many people in the fandom will read this (you guys hate long posts despite being in a visual novel fandom... what is this don't you guys love reading???), but I still wanted to share it. To share MY personal story and how Angie is important to me, and just one of the many reasons why this game is so important to me too.

Who is the toxic one?

I was so excited to play BG3. I didn't bother with early access cause I wanted to play it all at release. I downloaded mods for the game the moment the game finished downloading cause I prefer playing RPGs with mods. My main goal was to create a beautiful as hell pretty boy to romance that hot as bloody hell vampire Astarion. I wanted to create a character that would knock his socks off in the beauty department. Astarion was worth it.

Behold! My Durge, such a pretty boy, you wouldn't think he'd need to bang corpses.

I roleplay my Durge as morally grey, leaning on black. He's a dark guy, charismatic, a Shadow Sorcerer (mods) and a Bard. I spent all of Act 1 crafting what type of person he is, why he is making the choices he is making and for the most part, Larian has done a great job of providing the dialogue options and choices for me to do that. Whether I saved the Grove, Raided it, or left them all to rot, I at least felt like I was able to come up with reasons why my Durge would do it. Now I admit, that I created my boy to romance Astarion, but I had no idea what type of character Astarion was and I'm the type to get heavy into roleplaying my character so if the romance didn't happen, then it didn't happen. I'm not going to pick dialogue options just to please a companion nor would I use mods to fake a connection that isn't there, at least not on a serious playthrough.

Lucky for me, Astarion was all over my dark morally grey edgelord. They really did have a connection and I found that my Durge actually fell in love with Astarion to the point of wanting no one else but him.

Even if he felt that Astarion was only using him, picked up on that during the third sex scene (that was just a replay of the first sex scene and picked the cuddle option). Even if Astarion didn't feel the same, my Durge was trading his blood for the shred of intimacy that came with the act. I guess you could say he was prostituting his blood for intimacy. Even false intimacy.

So imagine my surprise when Astarion confesses that he was doing the same, but for protection.

I saw them as two lost souls who always dreamed of finding someone like the other and now that they did, they don't know what to do. They're both learning how to love and they're both terrified of losing the other.

Once again, Larian did a great job of giving me choices here. I didn't want to roleplay as Dr. Phil, knowing all the answers and what's healthy and right. My Durge was not a healthy person. He would question Astarion's attraction to him, and he certainly wouldn't tell Astarion that they shouldn't have sex. This leads to Astarion telling him that he could be so much more. This is something my Durge can believe in. After all, it was always Astarion who seemed to have great insight into my character, he's the one who notices Durge not feeling well, and the one who treated him with kindness after the Bard incident. My Durge also thanks Auntie Ethel for the same thing and its the reason he doesn't bother her when she can't help them with the tadpole.

Durge was ready to accept this new type of relationship with Astarion, something deeper and more meaningful. My Druge is a sexual guy, but sex meant nothing if it wasn't with the man he loved. Cuddling in the tent, talking for all hours of the night, these are the things I pictured my Durge and Astarion doing. Now sharing his blood wasn't for false intimacy, but true, real intimacy between him and his lover.

Astarion gives him the courage to fight to the death against Bhaal. My Durge wanted to live more than anything, and honestly would have just chosen to kneel and serve Bhaal had it not been for Astarion's passionate plea for him to not become Bhaal's mindless puppet.

My Durge wouldn't have been able to face Astarion unless he had a total Victory. So death it was.

When he was brought back, he knew he wasn't suddenly going to be a good little boy. He wasn't redeemed, merely given a second chance to live again, for himself, free of any other influence but his own. Once again, Kudos to Larian for giving me the options to roleplay this out.

Now we come to the infamous Ascension mission. Naturally, my Durge thinks ascension is for the best. He loves Astarion, wants to see him rise above Cazador, take his power for himself, walk proudly in the sun. Those spawn were dead already, they couldn't be released, killing them would be a waste and their souls would just wander the Fugue plains or wherever the faithless go. What did it matter if they were sent to the Hells? My Durge worried about Astarion's mental fortitude when confronted with the past, but once Astarion made it clear that ascension was what he wanted, then my Durge went into goblin mode to give him just that. Ascension meant ultimate freedom, security, and safety for the man he loved.

So far, Larian did a great job here and Astarion's speech after Ascension was breathtaking! Kudos to Neil.

Anyway, Everything was fine...well, Act 3 as a whole was leaving much to be desired, but other than that it was fine.

Then comes the long rest and the Astarion conversation.

I take a look at my options and see that everything is most certainly NOT fine.

For some reason, Larian decided to ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL over my Durge and assign motives to him that were not there before. I either ascended Astarion for Vampirism and Sex or I'm a massive fucking bitchass moralizing Karen who suddenly needs Astarion to "Learn a lesson" *Finger Wag*

Everyone keeps saying how Astarion becomes toxic after ascension, but I completely disagree, It's Durge/Tav who becomes the toxic party here. Sure Astarion falls back on Act 1 antics but that doesn't at all compare to the toxicity Durge can bring to the table.

He proves to Astarion that he was just a selfish fuck who wants only pieces of his body, either the blood or the penis.

He's a self righteous gaslighter who dumps the ritual all on Astarion's head.

This time, I have no way to roleplay this garbage, Larian does a total 180 on me, this is NOT the Durge I've spent hundreds of hours crafting, this is now Larian's Durge and now they are going to give him motivations and behaviors, to hell with your roleplay!

Honestly, if Larian was going to take over my character's personality like this, then why couldn't they just give me a voiced protagonist. Cause isn't this type of crap supposed to be what silent protagonists are meant to prevent? It's supposed to give you plenty of options without costing the studio and arm and leg in voice recordings. There are several dialogue options they could have written that all led back to the recorded audio.

"I want to be yours forever."

"I just want you to be safe."

"You gave me the courage to fight and I'm glad I gave you the courage to the do the same."

And let's say you get past the first gauntlet of crap dialogue choices, you're given more if you opt to say yes to becoming a vampire.

Reading his thoughts without his consent.

Then verbally and even physically attacking him.

And over what? His THOUGHTS! Not even words he says to you, but thoughts in his own private head that you choose to pry into.

And what do you get, that he thinks you're better than him. Apparently, that's an insult to people. It's clear that he has low self-esteem issues and the response to confirming those issues is to kick his balls, berate him, compare him to his abuser (With not a ounce of proof), tell him he'll be lonely without you...

Which btw is just abusive insane behavior. It's like telling your ex that if you don't want them then no one else will. Mind you, Durge knows Astarion has issues with thinking he isn't worth anyone loving, so you pretty much play on those fears. When I saw that dialogue option I couldn't help but think of Raphael's line at the start of act 3 if you say he wants your soul in exchange for the hammer.

"My My, you do think highly of yourself."

Granted, I'm complaining about dialogue options I didn't take cause I just started ranting here. But my point, is, which one of them is truly the toxic abusive partner here? Considering that ascended Astarion is punished for dialogue he doesn't say in everyone's playthrough, romances that the player isn't even experiencing.

Like someone telling me that ascended Astarion is abusive because of his romance with Karlach.

You mean this Karlach?

I'm sure that all things considered, she would prefer abusive Astarion to my Durge.

TL;DR Seriously, I didn't think I would write this much. If we're going to judge a character based on dialogue options, whether we take them or experience them or not. The clear winner of the abusive partner awards go to Durge or Tav without a doubt. The sheer amount of shit you can say to Ascended Astarion without him tearing your freaking head off is just crazy. That alone is testament to how much he loves Durge.

So far, I've had multiple playthroughs of this game (some of which I added to my retelling above cause it makes up my overall canon roleplay for my Durge), all romancing Astarion cause I can't stop and yeah I always ascend him. I just have to say, bad form on Larian's part. IMO, I don't need dialogue options to break up with Astarion as a mortal if I speedrun to the end, I need them to write in more varied options post ascension after the first long rest. Don't decide what my character's motives are, don't hijack my freaking character! Fix that Larian!

**I do not hate the devs, they did a great job on this game, I just think that taking over a person's character after 100s of hours of crafting who they are is a mistake. i : sometimes before sleep, he fantasizes about growing up with his actual family and how it'd have been if he could've gone to school, make friends and all the normal stuff. That his mother loved him and he had his big sister by his side. ii : he always gives into cravings. Should he wake up with a mighty need for unhealthy food, he'll get that. If he visits a fashion show and he likes a piece, he'll get it etc. He knows there's nothing he can't have, so why hesitate? iii : he has no drivers license and never even tried to drive.

Miriam Mead ( erased timeline ) : She was a mother he never had, a guiding light who didn't ever judge him for what he is while knowing full well what he's capable of. He not only respected her for accepting and caring for him, even if that meant saying 'no' sometimes, whereas the other satanists merely kissed his arse... he felt safe with her. Even though she was just human and couldn't really protect him from the wrath of the witches. Her loss was so unbearable for him that he commissioned a literal clone-bot of her; which he wouldn't have done for anyone else. The only person in that timeline who always had his back, no matter the odds.

Alice Turner ( @ravenskeeper ) : She was the wallflower in that book store who impressed him with her eidetic memory. They literally started their first encounter showing off to each other, and he wanted to dig deeper behind that reserved facade. Which he did. And found a soulmate, someone who doesn't judge him and teaches him things while he teaches her to live in spite of the cruelty she's faced throughout her entire life. They rub off on each other, probably not even noticing it most of the time; but they don't try to change one another. Which is the most important factor.

Sira Cruz ( @viiolencia ) : She's, he would say, his best friend. They understand each other on a level only the devil himself otherwise could, given their ties to hell. It's a lonely existence, but not if you can share its perks with someone— they're both callous and don't beat around the bush, while acutely aware of the brutality sitting in each their bones. Kill together, get intimate, play their little mindgames with one another and even get into fights. It's never fatal though. They know where they're at with each other and, ironically, hell connects them just as their experiences with family loss.

two things your character regrets.

i. getting outsmarted by the witches he thought he'd gotten rid of before starting the end. Self-explanatory, his biggest and most fatal failure which resulted in the 'new world' not even getting a chance to rise because Mallory made everything undone.

ii: making Constance hate him. Or if it's not hate, at least resentment and fear. While she wasn't a picture-perfect mother figure, with Michael she really tried within the frame of her flaws, but he drove her mad. At some age, he knew exactly what he did, noticed how he kept upsetting his grandmother and still... didn't stop. He never imagined her to throw the towel. And when she did, he was hit by realization that her love for him wasn't stronger than her fear of what he might do to her next. It still haunts him.

Interactions

Interactions are fun and great but I feel like people bitch about not getting them too often without even trying themselves to get interactions. And this is something I've been seeing and hearing about a lot more lately but no matter the platform I've roleplayed on, the fandom, the characters, or so on people always bitch about not getting interactions. And it's always so ironic because these people are the ones kneecapping themselves from getting interactions.

They'll complain about not getting interactions or having meaningful connections for their muses when, quite literally, it's their own fault. They won't reach out to people first, they always expect other people to come to them. They won't fill out peoples' interest trackers so people won't know who the fuck out of their muses they even want to interact with if they want to reach out to that person. They won't try to plot or chat with their mutuals to make meaningful roleplay connections unless this connection relates to a ship they like half the time. They'll give poor responses that basically make any ic thread hit the wall or make their thread partner not want to write it anymore.

You have to actually try to get interactions, you can't just complain about not getting them when you aren't even trying in the first place. You've gotta send someone a meme to start an interaction yourself sometimes, hell, even send them an ooc meme to show interest in their muse / them or to try and set up a muse connection like sending something in for a relationship / plotting meme. If you're too nervous to do that then at least try filling out their interest tracker if they have one, try liking any "like for a starter" or "like to plot" posts they make. Just anything to show interest.

Now, I know not everyone who complains about not getting interactions is the type of person to not try at all to start interactions themself. There are some people who reach out a ton and get nothing back, this isn't about people like that. This is about people who just bitch and get upset about not being interacted with but then never reach out to other people, the people who expect people to always come to them and do all the work to roleplay with them. Because I see those a lot. I've seen them on tumblr, I've heard about them from friends, I've seen them on roleplay games I go on and it's tiring. It's just always tiring to watch them get upset because nobody wants to interact with them when they don't try at all to interact with anyone or show any interest in interacting with anyone else.

I found Bret’s words before and after Armie’s name in that article problematic/concerning. Yet, I was not surprised in the least. Even just him comparing allegations against Armie to those against Kevin Spacey and the end results.

Glad to your thoughts on ‘The Shards’. If Luca is able to rework the adaptation to something more palatable then so be it. It would not be the first time Bret would be disappointed in someone not being faithful to one of his works when adapted to a movie.

Bret Easton Ellis has an old (Boomer generation), privileged, and misogynistic white male mindset that has not evolved. It was full on display in 2019 here:

Yes! He mentioned Armie and then suddenly Charmie fans are quoting him. This is not a person to be championing. 

That mindset that you describe is exactly what shines through in The Shards. I started to question why Luca has taken it on, I can't imagine there is anything in it worth saving, and I don't see where the challenge or the art is in it. It can't be the gay connection; the main character's sexuality is irrelevant to the story, unless Luca wants to deal with the lack of acceptance in the 80s compared to today, but I doubt Luca can take just that one aspect - be so unfaithful to the rest of the work -that he makes a good film out of it. Especially after what I consider to be an unsuccessful adaptation of Bones and All.

The article you included is pretty spot on, isn't it. "..raised questions regarding the depth of his critique". Yes, that's why I mentioned American Psycho in relation to The Shards. The former having tapped into a stream of consciousness that existed outside of Bret as the author, but the latter being an extremely shallow and sleazy exploration of nothing. Ironic? Satirical? Nah, just good old-fashioned sleaze. But of course even American Psycho can be condemned, as described in the article, through a feminist lens. 

For someone who makes his living out of the written word,  he seems to think that people's words and the things they say, especially prominent people, don't matter. I mean Trump was caught on tape saying groping women was one of the perks of the job so I can't understand where BEE is coming from playing the sexual assaults down. He admitted he didn't know what he was talking about and couldn't really defend himself. That attitude is really no surprise for someone with his mindset. 

I was wondering after I made that post, if I was wrong not to separate author from character. This article and your comments let me know I wasn't wrong. Thanks for sharing.

Something that bothers me is the church's attitude towards gay marriage. Technically, marriage should be eternal with two worthy people who love each other. But they accept marriages for time, with two unworthy and sometimes abusive people, who don't love each other and haven't followed these laws. And two worthy, gay people who are righteous and have followed all laws and commandments and "timeline" and are married for time, because they can't be sealed are the wrong, perversion of marriage. :(

I agree with you. Even if the church isn't willing to seal a gay couple, at least recognize our marriages the same as any other marriage that isn't sealed.

Here's my understanding for why the church does not accept gay marriages.

Point 1 - being sealed to a spouse necessary for exaltation

In D&C 131, the Church teaches that to reach the highest level of heaven, a person must enter "the new and everlasting covenant of marriage."

When Brigham Young added this phrase to the verse, he meant plural marriage, but these days we mean being in a marriage which is sealed in the temple

Point 2 - sealings are done so relationships endure beyond mortal life

D&C 132 lists things which won't endure beyond this life unless they're sealed, including "all covenants, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectation." It then goes on to give an example of the sealing power, the marriage of a man and a woman. If their relationship wasn’t sealed, then they aren’t joined after they’re dead.

Point 2a - what relationships can be sealed could be much more expansive than our current practice

The sealing power wasn't always limited to only a marriage between a man & a woman. In the past, the Church sealed all sorts of people to each other in a variety of arrangements, such as 2 men where one is sealed to the other as father & son even though they are not related and about the same age. There's even the time the Church sealed Jane Manning James to be a servant to the Joseph Smith family. There's no reason to think the sealing authority can't be used to seal gay marriages other than we choose not to.

Point 3 - The LDS Church believes the Law of Chastity only includes sex between a man & a woman who are married to each other, consequently the Church only recognizes opposite-sex marriages as legitimate. This understanding seems to be inherited from Christian tradition and not based on a revelation to the Church.

Consequence- The church accepts any legal marriage between a man and a woman (the main exception being polygamy, where someone is married to more than one spouse). The couple can be in full fellowship with the church even if they aren't sealed to each other.

I find it interesting that Jesus' teaching against divorced people being allowed to marry again is disregarded by the LDS Church, not only can divorced people marry again, but can be sealed to their new spouse. Personally, I think it's great that the choice was made to expand the blessings of marriage to more people, a recognition that excluding this group of people causes harm to them.

Because church leaders believe gay sex is never permitted by the Law of Chastity, it does not recognize gay marriages, and therefore can not be sealed.

A committed relationship between 2 people can bring a lot of blessings, including for gay people, I'm afraid the church tends to view gay marriages as a commitment to continue sinning and thus has had some really harsh penalties against people in such marriages.

The attitudes of church members and some leaders is softening. In 2019 a change was made so that a member in a gay marriage is no longer considered in apostasy, the 'sin' they are guilty of was downgraded to a 'serious transgression.' Consequently, a disciplinary council is no longer mandatory but 'may be necessary. Sadly, I think most local leaders still view discipline as necessary, but there are some stories of local leaders welcoming gay couples and not threatening any discipline.

i just don't feel all that connected with the fandom tbh and so i haven't been following much of anyone from it other than friends i know well and while i think ffxvi story is great for the most part, there are some that is left wanting. for one, it's about my big dumb man aka dion. i love him, man but i think my portrayal of him is vastly different and so it's not something i want to explore with someone unless i knew them well.

first of all, i find dion spearing olivier instead of the two fully grown adults who have been outright egging him to do tyrannical shit ( unless he already knows oliver = ultima, which is fine ) to be such a .......... pathetic behaviour on his part that i can't even bring myself to joke about it 😭 you're not telling me that he can hold himself back at two adults who talked down to him, and even proposing he go assert dominance after a truce is called and that every citizen who got caught in the conflict can get replaced. but when a kid say smth that is considered a mild version of the details the adults have been spewing. like why the hells is bahamut's ball so teeny weeny in this game. like why.

and while i do think the whole lmao dion killed a kid is funny as a meme during the first week of the game's release, i think it's snowballed to a point where i felt a little uncomfy because it's bringing out a lot of extra parts that i am personally uncomfy with seeing. but also nah .. i'm not going to give dion credit for taking down a kid ( who happened to be ultima, in which the fact was pure ignorance on dion's part until the second time ) just because he didn't manage to get an actual badass moment with shooting back at his father's twisted ideals and quite frankly, emotionally manipulative behaviour that dion truly deserves that crowning moment but was robbed from him. rip,,,,, it's ok i always have aymeric de borel from ffxiv

but i think it's good that he later admitted it was his weakness and his fault that ultima was able to take advantage of him because man .. how are you not aiming your spear at the actual tyrant who actually had sway over how things are carried out. like sure, he's your dad but shouldn't you be prepared for it or at least, expected the very realistic worst case scenario before starting quite a dramatic and eye-catching seige for everyone in the city to see? before storming your way over to the audience? like what, do you think your dad is just going to flip over a new coin at some talk no jutsu and getting rid of a child they can just later conceive again? after all that talk about how people can just be replaced?

and for the most part, sylvestre was taken out in the middle of the whole thing so god riddance, but i can't feel all that bad for dion being turned into bahamut later with ... pretty much everything considered and how a tyrant was taken out in the process. rip to the people who died in the middle of the conflict though.

last but not least, i wished dion lived so that he could actually face and properly address the things that happened. accepting that it is not fully under his control but also, he should've weighed his expectations better and make actual plans before calling up a seige. it had to be done sooner than later, for sure but definitely not in that sloppy ass way. and also facing the fact that sylvestre might have emotionally manipulated him since he was a child to have unwavering faith in him. instead, he died and sylvestre's behaviour was left up to ("oh he was under the unbreakable spells of his wife" get out of here alksjalsk) so ............. shrugs?? it's smth i'd like to explore but if i can't find anyone to write that with me, i'll just go to word docs as usual.

Regarding your last post, I thought the same while watching the behind the scenes of the MV. This is not a shade because I myself am not fluent in English and still need to improve a lot but to me it seems quite obvious Jungkook’s English isn’t as good as some Army like to pretend (I’m going to get call names…). I would say he’s around a low intermediate level, which is perfectly fine, he has a busy life so it doesn’t let him a lot of time to study. I guess his understanding is better than his speaking skills, which is usually the case for most of language learners, but orally I don’t think he fully grasps all the meanings and nuances and the slang etc. I just want to say again this is not me trying to belittle his abilities, it’s only my opinion, but to me it doesn’t look like he fully understands what he sings… his face expressions in that video, it looks like sometimes he was a bit clueless. I’m not saying he has no idea of what he is singing, obviously he got a full translation before accepting the project but he doesn’t look like he truly "feels" the lyrics and immerge himself in it. Idk, for me it lacks something and that video made me a bit uncomfortable. I know I’m being a bit dramatic but I can’t shake the feeling that the industry is using him for cash and immediate success without paying much attention to who he his, his personality, his artistry. And another collab is on the way with Kid Laroi apparently… I’m losing interest. I want to hear Jungkook on his own, with a song made only for him and that reflects who he is as a person and an artist. I miss that feeling, seeing him perform so honestly, when you can see on his face and hear in his voice how much he feels the song, how deep he goes to find the emotions and bring them to the surface. I truly hope there will be songs on his album that makes me feel connected to him again because at the moment it feels like I am totally unable to enjoy what he’s doing.

I don't even know if he bothered translating Jack Harlow's parts tbh. I remember one Run BTS episode where they had to sing their songs without using English, so they had to translate some lyrics to Korean, and, apart from RM, the members didn't even know what the English lyrics meant. I remember J-Hope being shocked, like, "So this is what this part means?", which was a bit wild for me since it was his song. Tbh, I don't bother reading the translation to most kpop songs. I only know what the tts mean because most MVs have subtitles now. If not, then too bad... Most songs have boring lyrics so it's often best if I don't know them. It's different for the artist, but I still can't be certain that Jungkook bothered finding out the translation to Jack's parts although he's the type to. Maybe he was so busy he didn't bother? Maybe he recorded his parts and only gave his blessing to the final version which included Jack's verses, without approving the lyrics beforehand. He doesn't seem the type to control what other people write in their own verses. Maybe he was too busy to translate the lyrics and only did it later? All seem to be possible options. The fact that Jungkook had to be coached to do the right facial expressions and gestures for his TikTok with Jack made it seem like he wasn't sure at all what the lyrics meant - at least then. It also makes me confident that he doesn't know what "rain, rain, rain" or "champagne, confetti" really mean. I think Jungkook cares more about melody and the vibe than lyrics.

Anyway, I don't think the industry is using him. He's not a victim anymore than anyone else. He's making his own choices, as much as someone in the industry can. Of course Big Hit loves the choices he's making because he's doing so well commercially, but I think he's made it clear that he loves what he's been doing. And if he's letting other people make choices for him, the blame is on him too, because he's in a position where he can say no.

I also want to hear Jungkook on his own, but, unless he's truly being pressured into only doing collabs for whatever reason, these are the choices he's making.
