Hunter and baby Cece making breakfast in bed for reader? 🥹❤️
CECE MY BABY!!!!
My Sunshine (Sergeant Hunter x Pregnant Reader)
Notes: pregnant reader, Hunter third person POV, co-starring Cece, the Batch lives on Pabu where nothing bad happens to them ever.
Hunter always woke early. Perks of being a soldier. You, however, we're sound asleep, and Hunter didn't want to change that.
As the sun began to peek through the curtains, Hunter carefully rolled you in your side to face him so that the sun wouldn't hit your eyes. You mumbled in your sleep, so Hunter stayed still for a moment to make certain you stayed asleep. When his hearing told you that your heartbeat was steady and relaxed, he gently kissed your forehead, tracing his thumb along your pregnant swell.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum," He whispered, and he swore you smiled in your sleep.
He eased his arm out from under you and slipped out of the room. You'd been up all night with the baby kicking unceasingly, and he wanted to do something for you. Omega had spent the night at a sleepover with Lyanna, so that left Hunter himself and Cece to rouse your spirits.
When he opened the door to the nursery, Cece was already standing in her crib, holding onto the railing. She began to jump the way smaller kids who didn't quite have the strength or the cognition to lift their body off the ground did, bending her legs to bob up and down as she giggled at the sight of her buir.
"Good morning, sunshine," Hunter grinned, nuzzling his nose against Cece's.
Her dark curls were messy, slipping out of the little pigtails she wore yesterday because she refused to let you take them out before she went to bed. She grinned at Hunter, showing off her two prominent baby teeth, and squealed as Hunter scooped her up out of the crib
"Shh, we can't wake Mama, alright?" he cautioned, placing a finger on her lips. Cece replied by grabbing her Buir's lips and squeezing it like one of Wrecker's stress toys.
"Yes, Shh," Hunter mumbled, though his lips were mushed together. Cece was extremely pleased with herself.
She was quiet as they made their way down to the kitchen of their small hut. The home Hunter had built for you in lower Pabu was no Senator's apartment, but it was perfect. It was round and domed like the rest of the huts on Pabu, and tall enough for two floors. The top floor had room for three bedrooms, one for Omega, one for Cece, and a master bedroom shared by you and Hunter. The bottom floor was one large room, divided between a kitchen and sitting room, with an entryway that opened up to a shaded patio, facing the ocean that perfumed your life.
The stairs were only wide enough for one person to walk at a time, and the railing wasn't quite installed yet, so you insisted that Cece be carried up and down the steps until she had better balance. Once Hunter set her down, she took off like lightning, babbling about toes (toast) as she explored the kitchen.
She reached the breadbox on the counter, tossing it on the floor like an errant tooka, and began to sift through the loaf to find the bed slice of bread.
"Hang on there, ad'ika," Hunter knelt over her, gently prying her fingers from the bread slices and putting them back in the box. "What if we made flat cakes for breakfast instead?"
"Toes?" Cece said. She still forgot to pronounce the extra "T" at the end.
"Better than toast. And we'll make scrambled eggs and some bacon from that supply ba'vod'u Echo dropped off last week."
"Toes!" Cece reached for the breadbox again, and Hunter sighed.
When Cece had a slice of toast sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar to satiate her, Hunter helped her into her little play apron and sat her on the counter so that she could help. First, he heated up the griddle and mixed the batter for flat cakes, pouring them into perfect, even circles. He tucked Cece's tiny, sticky hand into his around the whisk as they scrambled the eggs, adding handfuls of vegetables and cheese to taste.
"Yummy yummy!" Cece tried to pour the bowl of eggs into the pan all by herself, but Hunter quickly intervened.
"No!" Cece insisted, trying to pull the bowl away from her buir.
"You can't pour it unless I help, ad'ika," He said sternly, even as Cece's bottom lip began to quiver.
"Do you want to help?" Hunter asked. It took all the willpower he had in him as a Sergeant to not give in to the glimmer of tears in his precious daughter's eyes. How could he not admire her stubbornness and desire for independence?
"Help," Cece said in a small voice.
Hunter set the bowl aside and gathered his sunshine into his arms, gently kissing the crown of her head.
"It's not that I don't want you to help, Sunshine, but the griddle is hot, and I don't want you to hurt yourself. And if you make a mess, that's no fun to clean up, is it?"
He never knew if Cece could actually understand what he was talking about whenever he tried to explain things to her logically, but the tone of his voice always seemed to soothe her into a more agreeable mood.
"Do you want to help, Cece?"
Cece nodded against his chest, her arms making their way around his neck.
"Sowwy boo," she whispered.
"It's okay Cece, I'm sorry too."
Hunter realized too late that the messes on both their aprons were now mixed together, but it didn't matter. He helped Cece pour the eggs into the pan, wash her hands, lay the bacon the griddle, and wash her hands again. Each successful task was punctuated by a high five and a pleased giggle from Cece.
Hunter heard you getting out of bed around the time the pancakes had finished, so the two of them set out some eggs, bacon, and flat cakes on a plate.
"Something smells amazing," You said. The bags beneath your eyes clashed with the energy you put into your voice.
"MA!" Cece squealed, reaching out to you with grabby fists. She scooted forward, off the counter and into Hunter's waiting arms.
"Did we wake you up?" Hunter asked sympathetically. The moment that you were within arms reach, he pulled you close, kissing your lips and reaching around to massage your back.
"No," You sighed out an answer and patted your bulging belly, "The little one was way ahead of you."
Cece stuck out a hand and smacked it against your stomach.
"Baby!" she squealed. She was very proud of herself.
You laughed softly, cupping her cheek in your hand, "That's right, sunshine, that's where the baby is."
Hunter chuckled. Between Cece, you, and the baby, he was cradling his entire world in his arms.
But Hunter could sense that the longer you were on your feet, the more your legs trembled.
"Sit down," he urged, gently pushing you towards the couch, "I'll bring you your breakfast."
"No, let me help," You insisted.
"It's almost done already, there's nothing to help with."
"I help!" Cece said.
"Oh! You did?" Your face flushed with embarrassment as your feet fidgited nervously. Hunter couldn't bear the thought that you felt inadequate. Cece helping had been for fun, not because he necessarily needed it.
Hunter sighed, reading your mind as easily as he did the day you confessed your love for him.
"Go. Sit." He grunted, bending down to your ear.
You grinned deviously at him and folded your arms.
"Is that an order, Sergeant?"
Hunter lightly swatted your bum and turned to put Cece in her highchair with some a sippy cup full of bantha milk. "It is when you're pregnant, Cyar’ika."
You rolled your eyes, but took a seat on the couch. It was much more comfortable than the kitchen chairs. Hunter handed you your plate, along with a glass of fresh meiloorun juice, which soothed your throat and had you stretching your feet out to the other end of the couch. Hunter was just dragging Cece's chair over so that you could eat together when the door was thrown open.
"Cece!" Omega burst through the door and ran over to her niece.
"Mee-ga!" Cece sounded out the name carefully, kicking her feet against the high chair and waving her arms so that she knocked over her sippy cup. It wouldn't have spilled anyway, but Hunter smoothly caught it with one hand.
Omega boosted Cece out of her chair and gave her a big kiss, regardless of the food smeared across her face.
"How's my favorite kih'vod?" Omega asked, nuzzling her nose against Cece's.
"I thought I was your favorite kih'vod?" Hunter protested.
"You're too big," Omega insisted. "You can't be my ori'vod and my kih'vod."
"What does kih'vod mean?" Lyanna asked, setting her bag next to the door.
"Hi Lyanna," You smiled at her wearily, "Would you girls like some flat cakes?"
Omega propped Cece against her hip and grabbed a plate for herself and Lyanna.
"Kih'vod is the Mando'a term for a person considered to be a younger sibling. It's a bit of a diminutive term, but one of endearment." she always sounded exactly like Tech when she was explaining something, and it always made Hunter proudly puff out his chest like a mother nuna when she did that.
"It's a bit like the word ad'ika, for little one. Kih'vod means little sibling, and ori'vod means big sibling!"
"Oh. Cool!" Lyanna took her plate and began to stack it high with the flat cakes.
"Ki-va! Ki-va!" Cece said. She grabbed a flat cake from Omega, tearing it apart with her bare hands.
You tensed at the mess she was making, but Hunter gently placed his hand on your back, drawing circles between your shoulder blades.
He leaned over and whispered, "That's what the apron's for," tickling the hairs in your ear and making you giggle.
"Are you two talking about things you shouldn't?" Omega asked in a sudden, sharp tone with her hands clasped over Cece's ears.
Lyanna gasped dramatically with a hand on her chest, "And in front of the baby!" she leaned over, placing her hands over Omega's.
"We are not!" You protested.
Hunter's hand slid down your back to tickle your ribs and you suppressed a squeal at the featherlight touch.
Omega frowned at you with a twinkle in her eye.
"Can Lyanna and I take Cece down to the beach today?" She asked.
"Yes," Hunter replied before you could even think it through.
"We should probably go with-"
"Ask Phee and Tech if they want to join you," He interrupted.
"We will!" Omega swiped a wet cloth across Cece's face to clean her off, and the three of them had disappeared before you could protest.
Hunter smirked as you turned to glare at him.
"Now you can get some rest," He teased.
"Hunter-" You tried to protest, but he placed his lips firmly against yours, taking the plate from your hands. Despite the baby's active morning, you had managed to eat half the eggs and most of the flat cakes.
You sighed against his lips, sinking back against the couch cushions. As quick as a moon-yo, Hunter slipped behind you and placed his hands under your stomach, gently lifting your belly off your hips.
"Oh rightthererightthere-" You sighed even deeper again, leaning back against his chest. Hunter caught your lips in another kiss and you enjoyed the brief sensation of not having to carry the baby for a moment.
"Was this your whole plan?" You accused wearily.
"Maybe," He admitted, rubbing circles on your stomach, "Is it wrong to want you to be able to rest?"
Much to Hunter's delight, you had no objections to that. Without protest, to settled in on his lap, resting your head on his shoulder, giving him perfect access to kiss the apples of your cheeks
"I love you," You murmured as his lips brushed yours. Hunter nuzzled your hair, pleased with the sigh of relief that brought from you. He would make a thousand breakfasts to see you this peaceful.
"I love you too," He murmured, "I always will."
