what colour are your eyes?: a mixture of blue, green and grey that looks puddle-coloured most of the time.

tell me about your pets/your dream pet: after 15 wonderful years, our family dog paul (i named him that when i was five lol) unfortunately passed away in august 2023, i loved that dog more than most people. (there were some pictures of him here, but i got nervous that someone i know might see this so i removed them lmao). i'd love to get a dog or a cat at some point later in my life, but not now or any time soon.

share some interesting fact about yourself: i'm genuinely incredibly boring, so much so that i had to ask for help to find an answer here. the council decided on the fact that i know how to ride and own a motorcycle and am also a member in an mf in my hometown.

what was the first fandom you were a part of?: i guess the first time i was properly involved with fandom in any capacity was during my teen wolf days.

do you have any phobias?: i don't know if it's bad enough to be considered a phobia, but i'm terrified of heights. there have been several instances of me breaking down crying despite trying to keep it together while being in very high places (usually while having to climb dodgy stairs in very high buildings, among other things).

are you a picky eater? if so, what food can't you stand?: YES! and i hate it because it's so so limiting and annoying. i am incredibly sensitive regarding taste and texture and i have to physically force myself to hold back visceral reactions to foods i don't like. it'd probably be easier to list the foods i can eat tbh.

do you eat the burger and fries at the same time or one after another?: first some fries, then burger, fries, burger, fries, finish the burger, finish the fries. anything else is weird (what the fuck do you mean you eat them completely separately, liquid???)

winter or summer: winter all the way. i sweat easily, my body generally doesn't cope well with heat and i prefer bundling up and being a little cold over feeling too warm.

I love kenku and am so glad to finally play one. They are literally just little guys, to me. In the official lore, they are flightless and can only speak by parroting what other people say, but I found the second bit to be a bit too limiting for a player character. Instead, Yonder can speak more or less normally, but they are an uncanny mimic of others' voices and, when they're not paying attention, sometimes slip into the voices of others, including those who are no longer alive.

Anyway, in terms of the meme, the question of whether I would ever kill them off is interesting because uh. The short answer is yeah, maybe, lmao. They are actually quite afraid of dying and the associated rot and decay. However, they are currently trying to resurrect their dead family members (their older sister in particular), and since they are a character in a horror campaign, there's a good chance that will all end with them either dying (perhaps in order to take their sister's place) or becoming something that transcends life and death, in which case it's arguable whether they would be "Yonder" anymore.

🌂 What genre do they belong in?

I think Keet is pretty well suited to the adventure genre that she's in, but I have also said before that she kind of behaves as though she were a shounen anime protagonist lmao. Very power-of-friendship (and violence) kind of girl. Perhaps paradoxically, she also wouldn't be entirely out of place in some kind of horror/dark fiction, as we know now that her memory loss is due to her having died before and, long story short, she now sees dead people and has unlocked wacky psychopomp abilities that she doesn't know what to do with yet.

❤️ What is one of your OC’s best memories?

They have a lot of remaining good memories of the princess whom they loved and protected as a knight. While she had several lovers, including among her knights, she had various little ways of indicating in front of everyone that Onyx was particularly favored, and they remember all of those.

✂️ What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

In the first game that I played with them, there was a moment when an enemy hit them with a psychic attack of sorts that made them relive their single worst moment. As I told my GM at the time, what they saw was not discovering the princess dead, not being sentenced to death in the tar pits, but falsely confessing to the dead under torture.

I'm going to answer the question about Aisling under the cut due to spoilers. IRL people who play with me do not look please and thank you ckjdvbdvabg

When they were still a teenager, Aisling was imprisoned for killing a guard during a botched heist. Without going into detail, they spent a couple of years there (prior to breaking out and fleeing the city-state) being almost constantly dehumanized and abused in ways physical and psychological. Also, before all this happened, they had some pretty impressive fire powers, but as a prisoner, they underwent a ritual that prevented them from ever being able to channel that magic properly again. The magic still exists, though, and without a way to escape, it can do (and has done) a lot of internal damage to their body that is sort of reminiscent of certain autoimmune conditions. All of this combined means that, obviously, her life has been permanently changed in ways that she had no control over, and she simply cannot do a lot of things that used to come easily for her previously. (On top of the chronic pain, she struggles a lot with social phobia and borderline agoraphobia, for example.) Basically, no longer physically confined but constantly reminded of the limitations imposed on her by her experience, etc. etc.

Ok today I'm doing a hot take.

I'm not convinced psychologists are actually evidence based for anything to help people.

There are several reasons that someone can be mentally ill, usually it's either due to childhood experiences, or because of some form of pain (physical, emotional, spiritual, social which include financial issues).

The first one is probably not fixable, but it can be managed through concrete actions like not having some form of pain described earlier, and meds.

The second one is theoretically fixable through different means (theoretically because unfortunately we live in a place in which those things are not always available for all).

CBT THERAPY does have an effect because it doesn't target the mental illness itself, but the way it presents itself (for ex, for phobias linked to generalized anxiety). I think but I haven't checked enough, that DBT THERAPY has a similar way of handling symptoms for BPD that also works. So it doesn't cure mental health issues but it gives keys to deal with them. It's like glasses to make you see, but it doesn't fix your eyes. Once you get your glasses, you no longer need to go to the optician. You learn how to do shit, then you apply it. It's not linked to the psychologist having a special power/med/surgery that gives you healing, it's linked to a specific approach of things you can learn and then apply for yourself. You could use a book too, and it could theoretically give you the same results against your issues (it's better to be accompanied, but you get my argument).

Psychologists, in the broad sense, are usually listening, offering advice sometimes, judging you other times, making you wonder about things or feel your feelings. Anyone with an active listening stance can do that, and everyone with that stance will have a beneficial effect against pain. That positive effect you get from those psychologists is probably not linked to the fact that they have a specific skill linked to being a psychologist, but only because they're here with someone who is in pain who can empty their bucket of stuff being wrong to them. It's important that it's not a friend because they might offer non-friend perspectives and challenge some assumptions or views in a way a friend could not. Or it can be a confidant for very private things. It's someone "more neutral".

I'm saying this, mostly because I finally understood better why some psychologist saw my volunteering as some kind of "stealing their job" as I'm doing exactly what they do. I'm just listening and being there for someone's pain. Which has an evidence based effect against pain, reduces anxiety and depression etc etc.

So yeah my view of psychologists has yet gone even more negative lmao

Barley has a phobia of bugs (the only exception is spider’s because his aunt had them as pets )

Barley doesn’t purr often unless he’s around cats he is close to because he tries to betray himself as a horrifying badass but in reality he’s just a friendly guy if you were to drop something somewhere he’d help you with getting it up

when his children are like: “father what was it like when you were a Kit?” He just says he’d rather not talk about it and is like “ask your dad about his kithood instead”

he has social anxiety so it’s hard to preform at times but he takes his anxiety meds to try to calm down

Miles Edgeworth: What is your biggest fear?

That's a tough one. I don't really have any big fear, mostly lots of little ones. I get anxious about everything, especially social interactions. I'm afraid of getting caught up in internet drama, of walking in the city at night, and I'm a profoundly non-confrontational person. I'm also afraid of the way the world is going, and I detest interacting with legal authorities, like doing red tape and bothering with bureaucracy and stuff. But I can't say I have any big phobia or things that keep me up at night besides those things.

Mia Fey: Are you good at teaching people new things?

God no. I don't think I am. I love sharing things I love and things I can do, but I don't think I'm good at it.

Franziska von Karma: What is your most valued possession?

Oh that's a tough one. Probably my tablet because it's a work tool more than anything and my everyday life would be much less practical if I were to lose it? I would also be very sad if I lost my teddy bear. There are several gifts I love very much, like a very cool mug with a cute owl on it, or notebooks with little notes from friends in it. But I don't have one big favourite thing.

Steel Samurai: Favourite TV show?

Another really hard one! I don't watch much TV. Last show I watched was Wednesday and it was really cool!

Manfred von Karma: Are you a perfectionist?

Not really, although I used to be without realising it. I'm a performing artist, so I strive for perfection in that, but I know that perfection is an unattainable ideal and I'm pretty good at being satisfied with what I achieve one step at a time. It's taken a lot of work for me to get there, but now I am happy with the results I obtain even if they're not perfect - sometimes because they're not perfect. I just have a vision that I try my best to realise. It's about the road of endless learning to me.

A couple years ago, I've also realised, and that was a huge realisation for me, that feeling guilty for failing to do everything you should have done - for not doing enough, for not doing it right, for starting things too late - actually makes you perform less well, so it's counter-productive. Since then my life and my stress levels have decreased dramatically. I've learned to consider my real skill levels, and not the ideal skill levels I would have if I were a machine that never set a toe out of line. It's also allowed me to practise much more serenely, and thus more efficiently.
