What other kinds of food do the tribes make?

haha, admittedly, i'm not well versed in any of the foods across all the tribes. frybread is just a bit of a special case in that it's something we all tend to share. the foods from east coast tribes, to west coast tribes, to the tribes in the plains, and even tribes from different parts of alaska all vary so much.

one thing i know that links most coastal tribes is fish, salmon in particular. east and west coast! (though in my opinion, pacific salmon is a million times better than atlantic salmon-- atlantic salmon tends to be way more fishy than pacific haha)

but then there's differences even within tribes depending on if you grew up on the reservation or in a village, or outside one. my family is all "city natives". my uncle who grew up in the village loves to give the family grief for being city natives, even though the city in question was sitka, alaska and like........it's not a City-city lmao

the only tribe i'm comfortable saying anything regarding food is my own, and even then, only more "modern" methods from my family specifically. if i were to ask my family to give my friend a "tlingit meal experience" it would absolutely include fresh (or only recently frozen) salmon and halibut. the salmon itself would depend on whatever is running, pinks, kings (chinook), coho (silvers), or sockeye. I personally don't have a preference, but my family insists king salmon is the best. the salmon would be grilled, and the halibut baked. if they thought i was trying to "impress" my friend, they would probably even serve halibut cheeks (the best cut off of the fish, and the most expensive cut). if the family was lucky with the crab pots, probably some king crab or snow crab depending on the season. herring eggs, which is one of my absolute favorites but ONLY when it's hot and fresh. the second they start cooling down they're disgusting lol. it's hard to describe the flavor, since the eggs are harvested by putting hemlock branches in the water for them to lay the eggs on, then boiled and like. doused in butter. it's a very mild fish and herb taste, and the texture is pretty fun. moose meat of some kind. usually my family does moose burgers, but sometimes moose sausages. reindeer sausages are usually made with breakfast, but i don't really care for them since my uncle always overcooks them and they're dry. rice with all of it. probably dried seaweed, too, but that one it always hit or miss for me. idk what it is about the different places my aunties harvest it from, but sometimes it's super fishy and strong, and other times it's nice and i enjoy it. and then berries. Salmonberries and blueberries, usually. Salmonberries are a type of wild raspberry. i love picking them in the summer, the family usually makes a whole day of it. in the summers we have them fresh in a bowl with sugar and evaporated milk, or on top of salads. most of it goes to making salmonberry jam, though. super sweet and one of my favorites. if the berries are frozen, they'll make this...jell-o salad? it's like, raspberry and cherry jell-o, and a few other things. i'm. not sure. i've only eaten it, never made it lmao. my REAL favorite is when my auntie makes a cheesecake that's topped with a salmonberry reduction. the blueberries are so interesting bc like...store-bought blueberries just do not taste the same. wild blueberries taste so much better. we usually just make them into jam, or have them fresh on salads.....or my aunties torment me by making blueberry pancakes (which is a post for a different day lmaO)

other foods that i know i've seen during different potlatchs would be fish stew, fish head stew, fish heads, (we don't waste any part of the animals we consume lol--like basically every tribe, we value being stewards of the land. we never owned the land, we belonged to the land) seal, seal oil, clams, oysters, a million different ways to prepare kelp, and just about a million different ways to prepare any of the meats i mentioned, along with plenty of other things that are maybe more family specific haha

This is in Wyoming but it's really part of the same place as a huge huge engine section and nobody noticed it it's still can't see it they still cannot see it. And it's kind of annoying cuz he doesn't want to talk about it and people keep asking and then they don't look at it so wondering why people are doing that and come to find out they don't want to know

So it took him the task and he said you don't want to know we need to know why and we did find out a lot of people cannot handle this program at all if you don't understand it so we are now trying to find out who and why because we find out that's ridiculous there's a bunch of people running around saying they can't handle it and we do it to do they are saying it to say something and we're saying something back

-the flotilla made it out there around 4:00 p.m. yesterday the whole thing and just sat there and just sitting there now and the crabs are being cleared out down south yes there's a huge pile of them literally and this big huge pile is he eaten by smaller crabs and they kept on hitting them this pile was very huge and they made it into a pile because they would crawl over there and just kept shooting them and they got on the pile there are five mile crabs that climbed up in the middle of the thing and it's like most of the crabs no it's about half went to this pile and the pile is getting smaller and smaller has a whole bunch of little ones eat it and little ones are about 20 ft across and they started shooting the little ones and more big ones are coming it's going to keep going like that it was a giant pile now it's small and tons of little ones are going after it and the shooting them and underwater too and the big ones are coming over and it's a lot of work

-the entire West Coast is clear of muck all the way out 150 MI to the shelf edge and it's dropping they mind very fast because they have equipment and they have tons and tons of stuff to mine out but to go through it pretty quick and in the sand believe it or not they just pull the sand out and sift through it and they've been going all the way to the bottom now they're going to open up all these tunnels and the sand is going to sink into the holes after they pull the ships out they'll pull the diamonds out and sand will sink into the holes and close to shore won't be that deep but about a mile it'll start down in pretty deep possibly very deep but really the shelf is not that deep so I think it'll go down to about 800 ft at 5 MI and 150 miles or 100 miles it will be about a thousand feet deep to 1500 ft deep right now it's only about 800 ft deep out there and yeah it's going to lose that much see it it's going to go way down and it makes a big difference usually the tidal wave would be about 40 or 50 ft but with the drop of the harbor it could be 60 to 70 ft that's pretty big and it would now make it probably all the way to shore in about 20 ft and wipe everything out it'll be several of them if it would drop all that before the golf it'll make you here and be like 8 ft or less probably less it's going to be a decent nice safer place the water will drop it'll flow out easier right now it's flying out of the rivers and it's drawing water it's flowing so well and it's dried a lot of water but it's fully out it's flowing out and it's blasting a lot of the muck out. It's probably down to 2 ft maybe 80 ft from the center of the harbor and it's probably about 8 ft last week and between this week and that last week but it really is because of the mining from the last couple days it dropped most of that and it's dropping more rapidly right now they're about halfway done the whole thing I'm pretty soon though excavate out here it's going to really drop the water level and Sarasota and fort Myers are almost mined out and because of that the water goes left and right that's a weird effect it does work but it goes out and the water spreads out and it doesn't blast the trough so it slows it down oddly enough it started doing it already out to see about 50 miles and it's dropped about 10 ft and the water is going that way a lot and pretty soon they'll come in and it's going to drop all the way and the river will empty and harbor and it will be where it should be it's really strange that you're reducing the water and then the water starts increasing and it's going to rain today it's not going to make it any easier time because it's dropped so much and it's over full still and we calculated is more water in the river but there would be anyways and there be flooding like every day and we didn't move as it is it's too close

-we have several other things to announce and one of them is Hera and Zeus and having a better time and but it's because of current events and has nothing to do with his status here of their horrible horrible people and it's true this guy Trump needs to leave and he's going to fairly soon today is not going to be his day last night they had the fight in Los Angeles and it was Terminator 1 the movie and today the movie continues and it's still Terminator 1 they did not have the finale of the tanker and they think it's very weird its in the movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a few more jobs and it is Tommy f and he has to try and get Sarah Connor so this is mission for some reason and it looks that way and he just stops the fuel tanker and temporary and it's his clones body on the outside is not true. It's not plastic and they're using humans and they are using a system to do it and they're Macs bodies. Most people are going to be terrified when they see what it is and the clothes are going to be attacked and they're going to flatten them

-the sudo empire is beginning an attack in the eastern hemisphere after attacking in the West they have laid ways to more basis of the morlock and last night in this hemisphere and they did hit about 20% more really makes it about 60% and it hits private basis or civilian bases really and about 20% more there and I know it's about 10% more and up to 30%, they're actually hitting them pretty good in there going to get beat up and Ken is getting revenge and today is pissed off because the copper is grabbed him and he hates them it was up in upstate New York now it was part of Massachusetts and they're up there both of them tried to tell who people are until you get near them I just driving around and the cops came and started harassing him told them go away. And they would not and he escaped of course but the more like learned the valuable lesson they started s*** with these people and if you want to grab them you're probably going to get hurt that's not free and a lot of people said this one says if you go near me and you're threatening you're going to get f***** up and this is them but then they figure out some other people when it comes down to it almost everybody that comes near him and threatens gets killed including the ones that been here they're bunch of jerks and truthfully it is a really really juvenile stuff to go by and threaten it kind of deserve it getting hit it's happening quite a bit today we're putting APB on people for us to pick up and we're going to keep doing it until they're in, can't stand them anymore.
