Forgot to post this yesterday but I managed to get out yesterday! We had a cold snap where it was super icy and snowed but it warmed up enough to warrant getting back to running!
I didn't go as far, but I did make it out. I'm slowly running more than power walking and it's showing through my run times! I started out with a whopping 17:00 pace and I'm a little less than 16:00 now!
Maybe by May I could run continuously for 20 minutes! That'd be neat!

Weighed myself this morning and I'm down roughly a pound, so my hard work is paying off!

✨💖 WELLNESS CHECK 4/4/2023 💖✨
✍🏼 DAILY JOURNAL:
Waking up — The noise of the early risers getting ready for work woke me up, and I couldn’t fall back asleep. The noise woke me up at 645 am. I didn’t grab my phone, so just laid there until 8 am. No feeling of unease this morning, thank goodness.
Before Breakfast — Did a weigh in. Struggled a bit with my self image, so took a look in the mirror and spoke sweetly to myself. It helped.
Up to lunch — I got my period today sooooo mood was down for most of the afternoon. I took my lunch break at 3pm; ate my grapes, journaled, and watched the nanny. Def helped with my mood.
🍱 FOOD JOURNAL:
Water intake — 96 oz
Breakfast — tbsp of honey & scrambled eggs to go. I cooked 3 eggs with maple hills 100% grass fed butter
Lunch — bowl of grapes & boulder canyon chips
Dinner — 100% grass fed beef burger & raw cheddar cheese. The family ordered KFC, so I ate some of their leftovers; mash potatoes & gravy - I could only eat a small amount of this because the taste was not what I remembered it to be 🥺

Did not workout today.

✨ WELLNESS CHECK 4/3/2023 ✨
✍🏼 DAILY JOURNAL:
I woke up feeling uneasy. Same as everyday for the past week. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and not getting a full night of sleep. I am at least getting 7 & 1/2 hours
I was feeling so emotional for most of the day. Journaled a bit to let it out. I usually crave my dinner every day but for some reason did not make me feel good tonight.
🍱 FOOD JOURNAL:
Water intake — 96 oz
Breakfast — tbsp of honey & scrambled eggs to go. I used the maple hills 100% grass fed butter & my eggs are the paisture raised type from vital farms.
Lunch — grapes and there was a cute lil celebration at work so had a baby piece of cake
Dinner — 100% grass fed burger patty, organic raw cheddar cheese, & a whole avocado

Hi there, I’m Tasha! ✨
If you have no idea how to navigate your mental wellness journey, or quite frankly don’t know where to start… well, you’ve come to the right spot. Even if you have developed your wellness rituals, yet you need support on those “off” days… yeah, I have a seat for you, too.
I’m a HTX native simply figuring out my own mental wellness through the many faucets of my life: work, home, spirituality, finances, physical fitness, and more. As a black woman, pursuing and creating spaces for safe wellbeing conversations has been my drive and passion. I AM an introvert, however. So these spaces tend to be small… family dinners, one-on-one conversations, phone calls… but simply having these spaces open are powerful. Regardless of size.
And that’s why I’m here. I don’t have things figured out 100%… but the first step is to talk it through. Sometimes, you have to experiment with some techniques to figure out what nurtures you. Then, you have to check-in with yourself… because life will often give you lemons to knock you off your game. We have to teach ourselves what to do with these lemons. So I say…
Let’s make lemonade together. 🍋
