Weebviews: The Promised Neverland Season 2 (Yakusoku no Neverland 2nd Season)
Tumblr media
Aired: Jan 8, 2021 to Mar 26, 2021
Episodes: 11
Manga: Yes
Genres: Sci-Fi, Mystery, Psychological, Thriller, Shounen
Studios: CloverWorks
Licensors: Aniplex of America
----
There is so much to say for this season, as I was THROUGHLY disappointed. I had read the manga when it was still being published, and thought it was pretty good. When I saw there was a second season announced, I got SO pumped. The first 3 1/2 episodes were sorta true to the manga, until episode 4.
First off, they cut super important characters that, in my opinion, was essential to the plot of TPN. Second, they cut about 5 arcs that really aided to Emma’s development. (RIP Goldie Pond)
The anime felt super rushed going from episode 4 onward. The story of Musica was so much more important than what they actually showed, and I was so disappointed.
What made me a little more disappointed, was the fact that there was a POWERPOINT SLIDESHOW of important characters at the end of the show, and it all felt so wasted and rushed.
Finally, the random use of Dutch tilts felt very very strange in the context they were put in, and gave the entire anime a weird vibe and feel.

My Anime List Rating: 5.80/10
Personal Rating: 2/10 (Im not even sorry about this)

A couple years ago I watched this for the very first time. I remembered it being really freaky and difficult to understand, and I finished it to finish it. I had gone and googled the entire plot because I was just absolutely confused by it.
Now, rewatching, I have some insights that I didn’t have before. The anime started off pretty normal. The main character was alright, sometimes really unbearable in the first episode, but alright. I really liked Nao’s character, and her story kinda made me a little sad.
Getting further into the anime, it started to kind of jumble and not make sense. At  some point MC goes through some weird time thing, introduces a new character, and then all of a sudden the new character is one of the most important??
What made this anime not that great for me, was the ending. It felt so.. rushed, and not coherent, and it didn’t give me a satisfying feeling. It felt so unnecessary for the MC to go through that, and it felt like the anime was ended abruptly. Give it a watch if you want, but it’s ok to not like it lol.

I first read Horimiya back in high school, around 2016. I fell in LOVE with this manga, and I even did a manga review on it (you can check my archive).
I had such high hopes for this anime, and the episodes up till episode 12 were GREAT, CHEF’S KISS. However, like what happened with TPN2, this felt RUSHED. The ending DID NOT satisfy, and I would honestly just read the manga.
There was so much they could’ve done (according to one of my sources) and there was so much development that could’ve been.
Tldr: read the manga for a better experience ^^

Weebviews: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Manga
Tumblr media
Published date: Feb 15, 2016- May 18, 2020
Volumes: 23
Chapters: 207
Genres: Action, Demons, Historical, Shounen, Supernatural
Author: Gotouge, Koyoharu
Serialization: Shounen Jump
/////
The first thing i’d like to start off is with what ultimately turned this manga into just an average manga series to me. It writing is purely mid tier writing (pls if you enjoyed KNY more power to you my friend.) To me, it was just like every other demon fighting series. It does have its strong points though, because of what Tanjiro goes through, but it truly is like a cookie cutter feeling to me.
The only thing KNY truly lacks is better writing. I for one didn’t find the ending of the manga satisfying, and what a lot of characters went through truly felt like a waste.
However, I did really love a lot about Demon Slayer, but really it was more based off of the anime’s animation and soundtrack, not the manga.
Just like any typical shounen, there are characters added to help the main character, and I liked most of them, but overall some were a little bland. I didn’t care for Zenitsu as much, because his personality reeallly triggered a fight or flight for me, but nonetheless I still thought he was an ok character. It is a little sad how a lot of characters had very little development, but the ones who got a shred of development were my favorites (Potential spoiler- Tokito is amazing)
The art was pretty ok, and the story overall is mid. KNY got most of its hype from the animation and soundtrack of the 2019 series, as well as the 2020 movie, but overall its a mid tier anime, and was severely overhyped.

Directed by:  Pyeon-Gang Ho, Masaaki Yuasa

-----------
OK, this anime is AMAZING. Science Saru’s shit makes me absolutely die because the two anime series that I’ve watched from them were absolutely amazing (DMCB being the other one)
For 10 episodes, this anime really pulls you in, and it really helps you focus on the main characters. What’s also really scary is some of the things that happen in this, can actually happen in real life and it lowkey gave me actual anxiety from it.
The multitude of different characters from different places (idk if they tell you this later, but the main family is a mixed family!), and how the story keeps moving with every episode made it easy to binge watch. One thing that I notice, is most people don’t like this because of the main character, and if that’s the reason you decide to dislike the anime, then that’s your decision lol, just please remember this is in the eyes of a child.
Although, I do have to say that the DMCB anime hurt me more in the terms of the sadness factors, but this anime made me tear up on multiple occasions

Ok! This is my second time watching through Mirai Nikki (OVA included) and BOY
First things first, I have a love hate relationship with this anime because of the major plot points.
I was also able to witness firsthand a first time watcher of Mirai nikki’s reactions, which I realized where the same reactions when I first finished this back in 2014. My friends utter hate for some of the worst characters, and his love for the better ones (aka EIGHTH, she’s the absolute CUTEST) and per his words “this super Mario sucks on ice”
Anyway, when I first started watching this, I absolutely loved it, and now my second time watching I realized I kinda hate it love it lol.
I would recommend this if you’re okay with MAJOR fan service cause they PUT A LOT IN, and if you’re okay with major amounts of blood and gore
But I did again enjoy watching it, so give it a watch :)

Oh my god this anime
I first heard this after watch a random video and these people brought the English voice actor for one of the kids, and I thought “ok I’ll give this a watch for weebviews”
And I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED
This anime messes with your brain HARDCORE
And I love all of the characters, they’re so interesting. The main characters are very strong leads even though they’re like 12.
I HIGHLY reccomend this anime. Be warned it does get pretty gruesome in the first episode but you will not want to miss out on the ending of the first season
I really hope that a second season is in the making but I am for SURE going to read the manga

I first started watching Bungou Stray Dogs in my senior year of high school and I remember being totally in love with it. I had shot through all of the first and second seasons, and totally forgot that there was going to be a third season.
However, being as I have a super short attention span, I rewatched the same 5 episodes. DO NOT get me wrong!! I love and will forever love this anime series, and this drop was COMPLETELY my doing!
But! do not let my idiotic drop stop you from watching this season, and I will for sure pick it back up when I iron my schedules out.

While season 4 was not my favorite season, I still think it was very enjoyable! I pretty much loved the first half of this. The big three are absolutely great characters, and some of them really stood out this season (cough mirio). Also lets not forget Red Riot, because that was a pretty cool scene in the raid. Eri’s story hit a little too hard as well, and I almost cried at some point from what my friends tell me lol (probably from the end of the arc HAH)
The license trainee arc was ok, didn’t care too much about it lol.
Moving on the the Gentle Criminal arc, I really didn’t care for it too much. Gentle is super funny, and although we’re getting a nice break from sandy mcgee and his lackies, he just wasn’t what I wanted to see.
The festival arc was cute, but honestly I’ve never cared for festival arcs in any anime. Don’t get me wrong, it was very enjoyable, and it has such a bop of a song as well as an opening! The one part that I will single out is with Eri, and I almost SOBBED.
This season, however, is what made me want to read the manga, so 1000% give this a watch. The soundtrack is amazing, pretty good writing, Good voice acting. Overall pretty good :)

Ok first things first, if you want to watch both seasons, you don’t have to watch past maybe episode 18, because that’s where the manga story ends and the filler begins. Season 2 roughly takes place after that and follows the rest of the manga for that arc. I kinda enjoyed it, but it could’ve done better in my general opinion.
I would recommend it if you’ve been eyeing it and wanting to watch it, but the manga is in fact much much much better, and I’ve found myself juggling from it and a certain jjba manga. But do give BE a chance if you’ve been wanting to!

Cells at Work honestly was a ride of an anime. It truly is. HOWEVER, I very much enjoyed it (given that I gave it a 9).
CAW started out super informative and super cute, and I really enjoyed it for the most part. I really like that the episodes are not linear, and you don’t really need to watch them in order, kind of like Black Mirror.
It started to get more and more intense, but very slightly, every time a new deadlier disease showed up, like the cancer cell episode
HOWEVER, you will be on your toes by the finale! It put me and 2 other people on the edge of our seats, and literally almost made me cry.
I very much recommend this show, and it’s available on Netflix if you have a subscription.
This may be a super short review, but I can’t really say much without a huge spoil of the entire thing lol. But definitely give it a watch! You won’t regret it, and its very educational if you’re looking into studying the human body and the like!

HOLY CRAP THIS SEASON.
I have been following SNK and its manga since the first season ended in 2013, and I was so pumped for this season to come out. Let me tell you, Mappa did GODS WORK. If you didn’t like this season for its animation, then IDK what to tell you buddy cause Mappa did it PAGE FOR PAGE.
The voice acting in this was so phenomenal, and the change of scenery we got in the beginning was a really nice change. I am absolutely satisfied with this, and with Mappa.
The story was EXACTLY how it was in the manga. I know we love Wit for beginning this series, but the little changes they made in the first seasons never sat right with me. I’m so excited to watch the second part, and I hope everyone is as well.
With the end of the manga happening today, I want to thank Hajime Isayama for crushing my hopes and dreams, and giving me something to look forward to every month. You may be the true SNK antagonist, but you played it well, and I would give anything to erase my memories and reread/watch this series. Thank you Isayama for the years and the tears, you truly are an amazing mangaka.

Publish date:  Dec 7, 1999 to Apr 8, 2003
Status: Finished!
Volumes: 17
Chapters: 158
Genres:  Action, Adventure, Shounen
Author:  Araki, Hirohiko
--------
Welcome back to another jojo’s post! Right after I finished watching Vento Aureo, I jumped straight into the manga for Stone Ocean!
Stone Ocean has some of my most favorite characters, and to top it off it has some strong ass female protags, like the woman herself, Jolyne!
The fights were pretty cool, and I absolutely love Jolyne, and all the main characters as well. There are 2 in particular that I really love, and I’m glad that they had some backstory added into the manga. The main villain was honestly really well written (IMO)
What I liked about the main villain, was how, just like the Part 5 villain, he was able to kinda conceal his identity for a long while. There’s also like a shit ton of memes about him lol.
I don’t really have much to say without spoiling the manga, but I very much enjoyed reading Stone Ocean!

To start with the anime series: It’s average. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, and they have some really great voice actors like Natsuki Hanae (Known for characters such as Falco in SNK, Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul and Kousei in Your Lie in April). However, I really thought that the overall writing of the show was average. I’ve seen some people straight up call it mediocre, and while I didn’t like the first half it was alright. What solidified it as having potential for me, was the Natagumo Mountain Arc. I absolutely LOVED that arc, and that’s where it felt like an actual series to me.
For the move: It was such a great movie oh my goodness! Unfortunately, I got a big thing spoiled for me (because some people don’t know how to put spoiler warnings on tiktok apparently.) but I still really enjoyed the movie. The 2 hours of watching, felt so much better than watching the beginning of the anime. The soundtrack was really on point, but the only thing I didn’t care for was the constant fighting and showing battles. Overall a very very good watch, and if you were able to see it in theaters I am jealous because we couldn’t do that where im at!
