Big Mama must have lost some serious standing in the yokai underworld because it’s gotten apparent that she keeps being beaten by a small group of teenagers and the occasional rat man, and when it’s not them then she’s taking L’s from her own schemes working against her.
And in the ensuing power vacuum, the Hamatos accidentally become the most feared crime family known to all the big bads of the Hidden City.
After all, they’ve publicly outplayed Big Mama multiple times, a couple of them have taken out the heads of two of the most well known criminal organizations, one took out Heinous Green, two are responsible for the destruction of Witch Town, they have ties to both the infamous Baron Draxum and Captain Piel, they won the Doom Dome death race, they’re Battle Nexus Champions, they’ve displayed insane feats of power and defeated impossibly strong enemies, most of them have been to jail, and they regularly mingle with humans.
You can just imagine the notoriety they’d accumulate from word of mouth alone.

Prompt 216
“So we all know that Damian is trying to sneak in a new animal, right?”
“I mean, yeah, he only starts sneaking around like that when he’s sneaking something he shouldn’t be, and the box was pretty obvious…”
“Are we going to ask about it or…”
“Nah, plausible deniability when Alfred or Bruce inevitably finds it.”
Later, Duke will regret listening to Dick and Steph, because there is now a massive fucking dragon glowering down at all of them from the back yard with nine heads. Each of which do not seem pleased. It might be time to question what Damian might have brought home this time…

Jasmine is knocked out and kidnapped. Her brother (or siblings?? We could add in Dani and Dan) has to save her. She comes to and knows he’s arrived when a radio turns on by itself (because spooky vibes… it’s all about presentation) and starts playing Teenagers by My Chemical Romance.

Carrying Cas is one of, if not the most intimate gesture Dean could ever bring himself to do for him, it’s the closest they could ever be, and it’s only when Cas is DEAD and he’s ALONE and there’s nobody else to see—not even us—that he gets to do that.

I’m so sorry to be the one to remind you but. Regardless of if you ship them or not, Nancy wanted to fuck Steve in season 1. She went shopping for cute clothes to wear on a date with him, she wore a new bra when she went over to his house, she told him to turn around and took her top off in front of him. She wanted to fuck him!! I’m sorry!!!

my jgy thoughts have been expanding and adapting and roiling and toiling etc etc etc and all of it is coming down to me affectionately marveling at this character. he’s cut-throat. he’s cunning. his kindness leaves lasting impressions. his mercy is what predates his demise. he’s one of the few cultivators who helps those in need. he will sacrifice them if it benefits him. he loved. it didn’t last. it killed him. it orchestrated his downfall. he’s a genius. he’s paranoid. he compartmentalizes. he splits the world into who he would sacrifice and who he would not. people he loves and people he would sacrifice are not mutually exclusive. he’s filial to a fault. it was all for his mother. he is a study in assimilating to survive. the results vary. he manipulates the herd mentality to his benefit. it is turned against him. he is killed for the one thing he didn’t do by the one person he wouldn’t sacrifice. it is still somehow better than what the hive-mind cultivation world would have done. i love this tragic kaleidoscope of a character.

the frozen ii ending makes me soooooo angry like the whole POINT of frozen i was that elsa learned that she could rule arendelle with her powers and with anna by her side!!! literally in the bway musical she sings ‘i know i’ll never see that sunny day / when this trial is finally through / and it can just be me and you’ like. elsa WANTS to stay with anna
and they try and explain this somewhat in into the unknown, with the ‘who knows deep down i’m not where i’m meant to be’ but. WHY isn’t she where she’s meant to be. all of the first film was her learning that she belonged in arendelle and her powers/herself wasn’t something to be afraid of. why isn’t she meant to be with her family? with her sister who’s been desperate to reconnect with her? why doesn’t she belong where people readily love her and accept her and want the best for her?
and then, what about anna? there is no mention of her wanting/being ready to be queen in either two films. we don’t even see the offer on screen; we don’t get the sisters’ quiet, vulnerable conversation where elsa admits to wanting to live with the rest of the nature spirits and anna offers to take her place as queen. we don’t see anna begging elsa to stay in the forest because she can rule if elsa’s happier there. we never see their dialogue. it’s just so sudden. is anna once again just going along with what her sister wants? is elsa isolating herself all over again? we just don’t know. they both seem happy, but there’s barely any indication that it’ll lead up to that point.
it just makes no sense for either of their arcs, or their previous wants/needs. if they were meant to stay together, why separate them again? they just got each other back. and now they’re alone again.

so um anyway jiang cheng canonically does not consider wei wuxian a servant—let alone “just a servant”—and does not treat him like one. idk where this idea came from but it is factually untrue.
in fact, jc repeatedly indicates that he thinks wwx’s station is on par with other gentry, that he likes the idea of being part of a pair with wwx, and even jokes with wwx, mocking the notion that wwx could be a servant.
after wwx was taken in, they were functionally raised as equals, and there is nothing in their interactions as youths that indicates or even hints that their relationship was master/servant instead of simply childhood friends.
and obviously wwx is not sect leader, so yeah, he is expected to defer to jc after the war, (and that’s not an inherently bad thing, that’s how leadership works) but jc lets him get away with SO much shit that Would Not Fly if wwx were a servant (or treated like one). if jc only regarded wwx as a servant, there is literally no reason to be as lenient as jc was with wwx’s loose canon tendencies.
i’m sorry, but there is simply no valid reading of their relationship where the dynamic of their relationship is master/servant. their relationship simply is not built on obligation, as much as they both try to act like it. this assumption undercuts a huge amount of context and motivation, leaving nonsensical character decisions and gaping plot holes. there is no mdzs unless they care about each other as individuals.
#jiang cheng#mdzs#mdzs talk#mo dao zu shi#moi#not to mention the fact that we literally never see wwx ever acting in the capacity of a servant#jc basically never asks anything of wwx#maybe ‘please don’t insult our colleagues (who are also our elders and have more power than us) to their faces’#or like ‘please refrain from picking fights with people we’re trying to establish professional relationships with’#up until wwx defects whenever someone started poking at wwx’s behavior jc just shut them down. ‘that’s the business of the jiang sect.’#and some of y’all have the audacity to claim that jc didn’t do anything for wwx#that he didn’t even care#it’s appalling#i’m super tempted to tag as canon jc#but i will. refrain.#begrudgingly.#i absolutely hate it when ppl insist not only that jc didn’t care abt wwx#but that wwx. didn’t care about jc.#that wwx’s side of things was entirely out of obligation and he did not care about jc as a person in the slightest.#like imma be real w u chief: wwx does not come out of this assumption looking good#in fact he looks like a real grade A asshole#bc if he DOES think he’s just fulfilling his duties then why tf would be flat out lie to jc about their relationship#and if he has a duty to the jiang sect. why the fuck isn’t he doing it. yeah yeah he gave up his core sure.#but it costs zero dollars to NOT antagonize ppl ur sect is trying to built rapport with#it costs zero dollars to consider the political fallout for your sect before you do risky shit#like a wwx that is sticking around out of ‘obligation’ is a real fucking dick#like. either make an attempt at fulfilling your actual obligations or like. just leave??#i mean jfc it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that he does in fact care about jc#and jc does in fact care about wwx#um anyway

So because I am crazy and insane, I went ahead and played against Al-Haitham numerous time in order to figure out ALL the cards that are apart of his deck.
You see, when m*hoyo creates decks for our playable characters, multiple things obviously come into play:
- Do the cards synergies well with one another? - Does the element duo open interesting event card and/or action card? - Do the character apart of the deck know each other/have a good relationship with one another? - What character card are currently available? - etc.
You know, basics. Not every point have to check out, of course. But most do. Kind of the way a non-sweaty player would think. And so while I was surprised and delighted to see Cyno in Al-Haitham deck, I had to rationalize my delusions.
"Oh, it’s for electro resonance. The card he’s playing bursts down his opponent. He will need the energy." Okay, very true rational me, but then again, why Cyno? Based on your assumption, would Raiden’s card not have been more sutible? Perhaps Kujou Sara who thrives in quicken decks…
"Maybe because his deck takes advantage of sumerian event cards which only activates when two character cards are from Sumeru" True true true. Damn. Perhaps, you are right. I’m just delusional, but I am content… unless. Isn’t D*ri from Sumeru? Which raises my question again…UGH. No no actually, you are probably right. Most certainly right, rational me. But I must see him use it myself. To appease my insanity.
So I played against Mr Scribe. Only to beat him in four rounds. So I matched us again. And again. And again. I think our longest match was 11 rounds? No matter. My point is, he did not use a card which REQUIRES two sumerian. Not once. He sure damn used the electro resonance card though, I can assure you that!
I even went to check other characters decks, keeping in mind what event/action card were available when they came out. And like, if I can grossly summarize, you have type
A) They are lowkey meta decks (i.e. Wanderer)
or type
B) They are definitely… decks (i.e. Klee)
Guess where I would categorize Al-Haitham’s deck? He’s soooo likeeee (it’s type B by the way). I’m probably trying to rationalize it because I genuinely thought he’d do something so stupidly meta and he just… did not? And even if he did, I thought it would have a strategy that isn’t "rely on Cyno’s card when all turns to shit". Like sir! Please stop making me like your pairing more and more it was not supposed to be like this.
