So I've heard that Grimes' performance was a little less polished than her in-game projection as Lizzie Wizzie. I can appreciate that a little. Not really caring though. There's something else much more meta going on here I quite appreciate. Spoilers Follow:
================================================
So... We know that Lizzie's boyfriend was suspected of cheating on her. And that's why she hired us to look into him and get confirmation cos the jealousy of the fellow she loved was fucking with her creatively. Sure. We get it. The heart wants what it wants, right?
Except her boyfriend is some rich privileged creep who's had everything handed to him his whole life. And we find out that he's not so much cheating, but planning to back her up to an artifact with an Arasaka rep, somewhat like Johnny was. Only he wanted to make edits to her archived personality after the fact. Non-consensually.
Creep.
But we also know that Grimes' hyper-privileged boyfriend used to be Elon Musk in RL. No accounting for taste I suppose. That said, does anyone find it extremely satisfying in the meta-sense to help Grimes' character find out what a scumwad the Elon-Analogue is in game and help her break up with him? It's almost like getting to give Elon a swift kick in his one-percenter nads in effigy. And honestly, that feels damn good to me.
And if you long to never die
Baby, plug in, upload your mind
Come on, you're not even alive
If you're not backed up on a drive
I read this as having been made in 2018. Was this made for / and-or considered by CDPR to include in the game soundtrack? It'd seem pretty damn appropriate.
can we talk about how Will had zero interest in Jack catching the Ripper and didn't hide it? baby girl was just fangirling in the cases like "yesss, it's definitely the Ripper 😌 look at this masterpiece. good luck catching him tho"
"haha Bepo is the weakest co captain!! He's a big baby that cries!" ya, and that's why Law has him as co captain. Law has lived such a violent life of seeing people that care for him dying and being used for others personal gain that having his most trusted man be a person that hates to hurt others, is a bleeding heart of care, that seems to really respect Law's choices and orders is perfect for Law. The others in his crew are like this, but not to the level of Bepo which we need to realise is why Law wants around him
i don't think the background art in mob psycho 100's anime adaptation gets nearly enough love. it's full of mundane objects depicted in the most exquisite watercolors.
like this electrical pole here. with its giant soup can-like transformer and attendant power lines against a cloudy twilight sky, all shot through with vibrant pink and lilac and creamy butter yellow.
not only does this painting–and it is a painting–bring new meaning to the phrase 'golden hour', it's still one of the most glorious things i've ever laid eyes on. and you might pass one of these utility poles every day without a second glance. since seeing this image? i haven't been able to.
this is a single frame of animation. there are hundreds of thousands more in this series, maybe just as beautiful. i wanted to call your attention to this one. just because.
it reminds me to pay attention.
to notice, and keep noticing, the beauty in ordinary things (and beings!).
