During my recent trip to Kanab, Utah, I was blown away by the scenery. This wasn’t our first visit, but it’s like I forget how absolutely gorgeous it is every time. The landscapes and the rock formations there are among the most stunning in the United States (with all due respect for other equally beautiful places).
My painting teacher presented me with an interesting challenge. Instead of focusing on specific subjects, I am encouraged to explore the interaction between water, color, and paper. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of how these elements flow together. The result will be abstract, which is something I’m not all that interested in, but that’s ok. I’ve found that every attempt I’ve made so far reminds me of the natural world, particularly the captivating rocks I saw during my trip to Kanab.

Been hard at work making a booklet for people interested in trying out watercolors. This'll be available at vancaf and I'll be selling ebooks/pdfs! It's very much about the basics but I hope it's helpful and accessible!

*insert rant about daylight savings*
On the bright side, I've readjusted to digital art after 3 or so weeks. And I still got it!
[dango doughnuts] are something I felt compelled to draw after seeing some Dunkin Donut holes on a stick and thinking, maan. I kinda want mochi doughnuts now.
[palettemix1] was named with the possibility of making more pictures in this type of style. If there's one thing I figured about quickly mixing watercolors, it's to not be afraid of a little mess. And don't be so stingy with supplies if you're gonna use them. A dab of damp paper towel could keep the mess from getting to out of hand.
I'm also loving how the symbol-type signature looks. Peer closely and you could see a hint of red and blue in it, which I will pull from each art's color palette.
Still fooling around with [FISH YES], but it'll be finished sooner than later!

I’m a trash YouTuber and didn’t include any actual captions even though I clearly took the time to write, “Turn on Captions” in the beginning of this video. 😂😂😂
ANYWAY.
This is a real-time “journal with me” I posted a few days ago. I’d intended on adding captions, but life just got so busy and it was getting old… So I published it. DERP. LOL. I also just didn’t feel like telling anyone it went live. … so I didn’t. 😂 I’m enjoying creating just for fun and not really worrying about whether people see my content or even LIKE it tbh.
I like watching long videos like this while I work on art, journal, or play with my stationery, so I uploaded an extra long one for all of you to enjoy too. :) You can just play it in the background while you work. 🥰

A while back, I found this picture of my son. It was taken while hiking at The New Wave in Page, Arizona. I knew I needed to paint it. It’s SO him. And at the same time looks like an ad for western wear.
I did a sketch at first and sometimes I think I should have just settled for that because every time I tried to take it to a larger sheet of paper, it really did not work out.
Here’s the sketch:
I love the rocks.
After I got a ton of inspiration for getting past some rough spots on my most recent attempt at my painting group. I love those peeps. Seriously, the New Mexico Watercolor Society is the best.
This is still unfinished. (I think I always say that.) still have some tiny details I want to work on, but I love it!

The first time I’ve picked up a paintbrush in a while. I decided to try out a painting of pills with watercolor. It’s been years since I’ve painted, so don’t mind the terribleness.
