Weird question, but I consider you the expert: what would be the Oldie Squad's favorite movies?
Not a weird question at all! I like this one!
Jellylorum has always loved epics and musicals and grand theatrical pieces - if it's big and gauzy and has dance breaks, she's all for it (and if it's a sweeping romantic, even better). Some of her favourites include: La Belle et Le Bête (1946), The Wizard of Oz (1939), An American in Paris (1951), The Happiest Millionaire (1967), The Phantom of the Opera (1943), War and Peace (1956), The Sword and the Rose (1953), and Singin' In the Rain (1952).
(For a more "modern" example, she would adore the two Mamma Mia! movies and Moulin Rouge completely unironically.)
Asparagus sat through Lawrence of Arabia (1962) twice (and only fell asleep once during the second viewing) and that's about all you need to know about his film taste. Those epics and dramas that Jelly loves, he's been known to crank up to eleven, and he also likes a good twist and turn around - something he can just sit and contemplate about for several hours while he disassociates from reality, you know? Some of his favourites include things like Anatomy of a Murder (1959), Rashomon (1950) (And Throne of Blood - 1957), Hamlet (1948) and The Red Shoes (1948).
It's not all long dramas and such, though. He also shares Jelly's penchant for musicals, and loves The Pirate (1948), Hello, Dolly! (1969) and Swing Time (1936), and will devour any bloated swashbuckler film he can get his paws on (The Count of Monte Cristo (1934) being a favourite, and he's never seen a Treasure Island that he didn't like at least a little).
Skimbleshanks has never had the best patience when it comes to films - particularly long ones - but when he does settle down, he much prefers movies that are quick paced and witty, and it translates much better in its physicality, if that makes sense; you don't have to necessarily understand what is being said to be entertained. If it makes him laugh, even better time spent. Some of the films he's actually enjoyed include The Kid (1921), Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Safety Last! (1923), and Oh, Mr. Porter! (1937). He's also been known to occasionally dabble in things like The Secret Garden should he happen to crack an eye open while asleep in the lap of one of the Station Master's daughters.
(But also contradictorily, Skimbleshanks is the type who probably hasn't actually gone to a movie theatre in 20+ years, but will occasionally pass by someone watching something and get accidentally intrigued and ask all sorts of questions - "What's she on about?" "He certainly likes to yell, doesn't he?" "Who's that? Why are they crying?" - but refuse the offer to rewind it)
Jennyanydots is in a similar vein with Skimble: not much patience for whole movies (yet she has infinite patience for the soaps though). She also has the pesky habit of guessing the ending within the first fifteen minutes or so, so it's not much fun for her. That being said, of the few movies she's actually watched, her favourites are Mary Poppins (1964), and Gone with the Wind (1939).
Bustopher Jones *also* quite loves Gone with the Wind, and others like Sunset Boulevard (1950), Roman Holiday (1953), and The Blue Angel (1930). He's a *big* diva type of person, and an admirer of good costumes, which - in his opinion - are far better in live entertainment than on a screen, but he'll take what he can get.
Hathor's taste in films is...eclectic is probably the best word for it - she likes a little bit of everything. She's really the only of the oldie squad members who actually likes thrillers (Asparagus will watch some of them with her, but he doesn't have the stomach for all of it. She doesn't quite embrace full on horror films as well, but she'll give anything a shot once) and science fiction (Jelly would be more the go to companion for these, but only certain types).
Some of her favourite movies include The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), The Last Man on Earth (1964), The Fly (1958), and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), but she also loves movies like Bambi (1942), Carmen Jones (1954), and The Shop Around the Corner (1940). She, much like Asparagus, will also consume just about any mystery film she can get *her* paws on. So honestly it depends when you catch her and in what mood.

as a desi girl myself DO IT🧍🔫
I WANT TOOO
but idk what to write?? like, i just go abt my day and think, “hey now what if lando were here?” and suddenly my brain is filled with thoughts abt lando’s desi gf teaching him how to cook biryani or feeding him food from her hand!! i’m certain he wouldn’t like authentic south asian food that much but bc of her, he starts to appreciate it a lot more!!
and they’d wear matching shalwar for weddings or special occasions!! he’d help put her bangles on, and he’d hold the end of her dupatta so that it doesn’t drag on the floor.
they’d sooo have an accidental ajab si moment where her dupatta catches on his friendship bracelets and when he doesn’t understand why she’s laughing so much, she’d make him watch a whooole bunch of bollywood movies, starting off with the classics then the kind of stuff she prefers. he’d watch them on the plane to and from races and message her while he does!!
i have SO many more thoughts abt it, and once i start thinking i can’t stop

Anonymous asked: Of all the many languages you speak which is your weakest one? Do you use those languages?
It’s privilege to learn any language that isn’t your mother tongue. As Ludwig Wittgenstein correctly observed, “The limits of my language means the limits of my world”. If English is our native tongue we put ourselves at a disadvantage because we expect every other nationality to take the trouble to speak it. There seems no incentive to learn a foreign language. We become lazy not just in language but also in other ways including our cultural enrichment, our imagination, and a misplaced sense of our self-importance in the world.
Tumblr media
Of the European languages I know, I probably think German would be my weakest. When I was in school in Switzerland you’re brought up in three languages: French, Italian, and German (even if the Swiss speak Swiss German). When I say weakest I mean I can converse fluently, but I don’t have time to read German literature in the same immersive way I would say with French literature or take any special interest in German affairs.
I would say I’m fairly fluent in French now but still prone to silly mistakes. I’ve been told that I can speak without an accent and that is heart warming to know, because that was always the goal once I moved here to France. I don’t really use French in my work as it’s a multi-national entity and so English is the default language of corporate world, but I’m speaking French pretty much the rest of the time outside of work.
I was extremely fortunate to be born into a multi-lingual family where Norwegian and English were spoken from birth. All my siblings were being versed in Latin (not Greek which came years later after doing Classics at university) by the time I was 8 or 9 years old because my father was a classicist and he felt Latin was the building blocks to mastering other languages.
All this occurring whilst we moved lived and moved around a lot in the world such as China, Japan, India, and the Middle East. When I was initially sent to one of the first of my English girls boarding schools I was horrified that most of the girls only spoke English. I thought I was the stupid one for only knowing 6. Boarding school, if nothing else, gave me a great privilege to hone in on the languages I did know and start to learn others.
My parents didn’t take the easy way out and put us children in international schools like all the other expat children. That would have been too easy given how tight knit the British expatriate community was out there. Instead we were left to sink or swim in local schools in places like Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan or Shanghai in China or in Delhi, India. It was a struggle but you soon find your feet and you stumble towards some basic level of fluency.
I’m fortunate that before Covid my corporate work took me often to the Far East and it was a great opportunity to hone what I already knew. The result is I can converse and take business meetings in Chinese and Japanese (though English gets thrown into the mix too).
Tumblr media
I would say Chinese is more of a struggle for me these days because I’ve not been back since before the Covid lockdown in 2020. Chinese is one of those languages that can easily melt away if you don’t get the chance to converse in it on a regular basis. Japanese less so, probably because the culture had more profound impact on me than Chinese culture.
Hindi is less of an issue because I have close Indian friends and also I watch Bollywood movies as well as converse with Indian immigrants here in Paris who have local stores. Urdu I learned through the backdoor because Urdu has a spoken affinity with Hindi (if you know Hindi then you know spoken Urdu, more or less, especially in Northern India and cities like Delhi where Urdu was born in the burnt ashes of Mughal India). Reading is another matter because they each use different scripts - Sanskrit for Hindi and Arabic and Persian script for Urdu.
Strangely enough when I was doing my tour in Afghanistan years ago with the British army, I would speak Urdu with local Afghans who served as official translators or were selling goods on the base. These Afghans knew Urdu because an entire generation of Afghan boys and girls grew up in refugee camps on the Pakistani border during the different phases of the Afghan war. I have very fond memories of their friendship and hospitality, but less so of the war itself.
With Arabic, it had lapsed woefully until I did a posting in Dubai in the past year (as catalogued in my blog) and I found myself suddenly remembering a lot and asking Arab friends. Soon I was able to hold my own amongst my colleagues and corporate clients. In these cultures it’s really hard to stay focused because so many of them speak very good English. So it’s hard to get them to stick with their own language because you want to learn from them - but they want to show off their English proficiency - and so you have to be polite but persistent to stick with Arabic.
If you’re learning a new language then I hope you stick with it. There’s almost nothing more rewarding in your life than the disocovery a rich culture through language. The key is to find a way to make it fun rather than a trip to the dentist chair for a root canal operation.

...some more desi!jon and martin hcs? for the soul?
Hello!!! Sorry for taking so long to answer, I needed to get into the right headspace lol
You know how it's a desi custom to like feed each other cake on birthdays? You do it with your loved ones especially so I'm imagining it's Jon's birthday and Tim insists on feeding him cake and he begrudgingly agrees then suddenly everyones feeding him cake and laughing and feeding everyone else and Martin really shouldn't feel like it's so intimate (indirect kisses as such) but it's a bonding moment for the whole archives crew
Jon is like insanely good at rangoli patterns, his grandma put him to work every festival season and it kept his hands busy for hours on end, building spiral patterns with vibrant powders. He lost some of it over the years, but in the Scottish Safehouse, he makes smaller patterns across the entrance almost as a sigil against everything they were being hunted by
Martin has a pretty good Bengali accent and is fluent, his mum refused to speak anything other than Bangla so he's kept it up all these years and gotten quite good at it to the point where he's sometimes mistaken for a native speaker
Jon has an atrocious accent and can just about get by in Hindi, he had been sat down by his grandma to try and teach him a couple of times over his childhood but he never could concentrate for long enough, his grandma shouted too much for his liking and he was a gifted kid so if he didn't get it immediately, he wouldn't do it at all
Jon's favourite Bollywood actor is Irrfan Khan cause he thinks he's super impactful and he loved him in Piku (but he grew up watching mostly old black and white Bangla movies directed by satyajit Roy like Pather Panchali)
Martin's favourite has to be SRK cause he's a classic and he grew up watching him and whenever he's sad he watches Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Chennai Express
They both adore 3 Idiots though, like they were both screwed over by the education system in different ways (Martin struggled with juggling school and caring for his mum so he ended up dropping out, Jon and his burned out gifted kid vibes), they understand the pressure to get a certain level of educated and a certain type of profession (they would've gotten it from judgemental relatives lol like you couldve used your intelligence to become an engineer and instead you work for a falthu place) and they definitely understand the mental health issues and the friendship between the guys reminds them of their own friendships over the years
Also that song "give me some sunshine, give me some rain" like one day Martin's humming it and Jon's like is that???? and then Martin starts singing it and they do a little duet (martin was classically trained in rabindra Sangeet so he has a smooth velvety voice and jons is decent) and then it can become a super angsty call back in MAG 200
That's all I got!! Thanks for the ask!!

In the music taste post you said
“I think the only think they disagree on is probably metal and such that has harsh noises, cause Jimmy can't mimic it without hurting his throat and it's a bit too much for his ears. Tango isn't a big fan of musical tracks either probably.” Does that mean Jimmy is a musical enjoyer? If so what shows or kind of shows does he like (aside from Mamma Mia)?
(Also, I apologize about the ask on your other account, I got mixed up and meant to ask it on this page. Ill make sure to ask on only this page unless you would rather me ask on the other page)
I dunno about atually going to the theatre very much since he lived out in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have the attention span for it, but in all universes Jimmy loves singing and karaoke to me (even if not very good at it) so musicals are a given for birbs.
Probably a lot of more big popular movies like classic disney musicals, footloose and grease, hairsprat for sure, little shop of horrors, maybe moulin rouge and coyote ugly? Also I feel like at some point he watched the cats movie with his friends and they dragged him to see the "good real show" and he still didn't get it but he remembers some of the songs. I think the only musical he's seen of his own volition is pirates of penzance and I think he probably knows wicked only from a soundtrack recording.
He likes mostly silly happy sounding ones, so I don't think he would like sruff like les miserables, phantom of the opera, or the dolls of new albion (though I doubt he would know that last one, he's very much a more mainstream sorta guy) and doesn't know any musical adaptations of movies like legally blonde and such. He mighta heard one or two of them from Lizzie but probably not. I also doubt he's heard very many foreign musicals so not any bollywood musicals or film red.
I'm going to give him the chipmunk movies and cds, not because I think it's something he would like but because I think Jimmy Solidarity trying to sing chipmunk songs would possibly be THE most painful sound imaginable that would test even Tango's patience.
I think Tango probably knows a lot of phineas and ferb songs and thats probably their one common ground, though Tango would probably never in a million years be able to find the tracks for it to play for Jimmy. Musicals singing is probably something Jimmy does more with his siblings and Pearl, and doesn't force Tango to listen to too many unless theyre having a karaoke night. There probably are some musicals Tango would loke if he heard them but I don't think theyre ones that Jimmy knows or likes, and I doubt Tango is willing to take a shot with them when he knows he doesn't care for them usually.

early 2000’s desi!johnny cade.
Tumblr media
obsessed with all of the classic bollywood movies.
i mean this era was the best for bollywood.
his favorites are kuch kuch hota hai, khabi khushi khabi gham, (these next few are late 2000’s but shh) jab we met, toonpur ka superrhero, and om shanti om.
bought the soundtracks for all of them.
late 90’s and early 2000’s was a big time for punjabi immigrants, so it’s possible he could’ve had more family or punjabi/desi friends.
i’d say he would be more open about his culture, because way less racism compared to the 60’s.
like he’d be more comfortable wearing kurta pajamas or things like that outside of his house or mostly brown functions.
he’s still sorta quiet about his culture, but not whitewashed.
i’m pretty sure it was said in the book that johnny would stay at two-bit’s house more than the curtis’ so i bet two-bit probably saw johnny in his element a lot.
like he would see johnny wearing shawls or kurta’s the most out of the gang.
also he put the mathews family onto punjabi snacks, like gulab jamun, matri, bhujia, samosas, etc.
his absolute favorite is chaat, but he doesn’t eat it much because he doesn’t know how to make it.
he always has some mehndi design on him, just for the fun of it.
usually really simple designs.
going back to the movie thing, since tulsa is a pretty big town, i think it would have at least one bollywood theatre.
so, he’ll go watch the new movies when they come out, and sometimes ponyboy will come with him.
if the movie doesn’t have subtitles he’ll have to ask johnny whats going on every so often.
thats all i got rn 👍🏾

Hi! Do you have any romcom (movie) recs? I feel like i hypothetically like the genre, but have a lot of trouble finding ones i enjoy. So many romcoms feel so formulaic (in a dead way) and misogynistic and stale to me. I think they’re a lot easier to do well in the context of a series because there’s actually time to build. Recently i thought rye lane and fire island were fun. I like kdramas when i have the time for all the episodes because i appreciate the build. I need chemistry— people who both convincingly like each other and seem like actual human beings. I thought you might have some good ideas! Thanks <3
HELLO LARGE VOICED ANON <3
I hope you weren't waiting on my recs all day haha i have been. hm. hungover af <3 (i'm going to leave kdramas off this list for now but if you would like specific recs for kdrama romcoms send me another ask and i can try to do them justice!)
I think this is a genre with underrated range! So one thing that I find very interesting about the genre of romcoms is that I think there tends to be a split between romcoms whose goal is, like, to be a fun lighthearted movie with a central romance, vs romcoms whose goal is to Say Something About Love in the vehicle of a funny movie. Both of these categories are represented on this list but for giggles i will not be saying which i think are which <3
anyway recs under the cut <3 i will link my tags for these movies if you want to take a look but be warned for spoilers ofc
I think for your purposes my primary rec would be Lovesick (aka Scrotal Recall). It's a (short) tv show so it would likely give you the chance to get to know the characters and see a slower build. In contrast to the frustration you've had with some more "formulaic" romcoms the writing in this show is very deliberately in conversation with romcoms of the past. Also it's just one of my favorite romcoms ever made so I rec it to everyone. The premise is that a young man, Dylan, is diagnosed with chlamydia and instructed to tell his past partners. Being a hopeless romantic (emphasis on hopeless), he decides to try to turn this into an opportunity to revisit relationships that didn't work out, and try to figure out where he's been going wrong. Two simultaneous storylines play out in each episode, the flashbacks to the exes (and breakups) and the present, where Dylan's best friend is getting married.
Older romcoms: When Harry Met Sally (ive heard this is divisive? but idc its SO funny and so well made), Moonstruck (a romantic-comedy in the operatic sense. also cher <3), The Philadelphia Story (katharine hepburn the woman u r. tw for a classic 1940s gag about punching ur wife in the face), Bringing Up Baby (screwball comedy my beloved), Roman Holiday (audrey hepburn is lethally charming in this movie), Dirty Dancing (someday ill write something this good and then You Will Realize), Much Ado About Nothing (i tend to enjoy either the danielle brooks shakespeare in the park version or the classic tennant/tate combo)
Teen romcoms: 10 things I hate about you (young heath ledger and young julia stiles ur welcome), to all the boys i;ve loved before (lana condor is ADORABLE), The Half of It (my other favorite sort-of romcom of the decade)
More recent-ish: Speed (like its keanu and sandra what more do you want), Strictly Ballroom (i used to watch this literally weekly as a child and I WAS RIGHT TO), Miss Congeniality (sandra bullock what u did for us all <3), Fire Island (thank u 4 my LYFE), The sandra bullock/channing tatum movie that came out last year (i forget what its called but he's so funny in it), Mamma Mia AND Mamma Mia Here We Go Again (beautiful greek islands, abba, cher, what more can you ask for?)
Indian/bollywood: Jab We Met (after dramatically quitting his job, Local Man somehow ends up escorting a woman he meets on the train while she attempts to elope with her boyfriend. aka classic screwball comedy heroine and Guy She Dragged Along For The Ride), khabie khushi khabi gham (multiple generations of romance and family drama featuring Kajol, the Most Beautiful Woman In the World), Band Baaja Baaraat (two wedding planners fall in love--great choice if you want to watch idiots ambushed by their feelings)
Other tv recs: Selfie (john cho and karen gillian in a show canceled far too soon)

@bollylion has a blind date with...
Nyrris the Dragonborn
Nyrris is a 9 ft. tall (274 cm), muscular dragonborn with dark red scales and spiraling horns. He has a long tail, a pair of wings (one of which is very holey and tattered thanks to a workplace accident—he can’t fly anymore), and some eye ridge piercings. He tends to dress in sweatpants and a tee-shirt regardless of the occasion.
Nyrris is, first and foremost, a cinephile. Like many dragons and dragonborn, he compulsively collects a particular type of thing to make a hoard out of, and Nyrris’ preferred hoard-items are DVDs and VHS tapes. He doesn’t trust streaming services of any kind not to remove their content at a moment’s notice (thereby robbing him of his hard-won treasures), and so is very invested in physical media. He loves all kinds of movies, but most of his collection is composed of 20th century American, German, and Japanese films—he’s slowly expanding into the world of Bollywood with your help!
Nyrris likes to work out. After his workplace accident, he had a lot of physical therapy, and has gotten accustomed to the staring and awkward questions while visiting his local gym. He trusts you not to “other” him with odd remarks about his injury, however, and encourages you to come to the gym with him. He likes the feel-good endorphins that come with exercise and is hoping that you will like them as well.
Nyrris loves to curl up on the couch with you to watch movies in the evenings. He’s seen all of the films in his own collections at least three times, and so is much more interested in your favorite movies than his own. Although he has a tough exterior, he has a secret fondness for romantic comedies and is riveted by the high drama and emotion of Bollywood romances. With your permission, he’s also started perusing your collection of romance novels as well, since he wants to try and figure out which ones will get film adaptations next.
Nyrris is a very warm person—not necessarily in personality, but rather in literal temperature! As a red dragonborn, he has a core of fire and is always very warm to the touch. Cuddling with him on a cold night feels absolutely wonderful, but on a sweltering summer day he’s almost too hot to hold hands with. He worries that you, as a non-dragonborn, are too cold most of the time and is always quick to offer a snuggle session.
Tumblr media
Your classic films club had a new member!
Who could it be? you wondered. A lot of the members of the club were significantly older than you, and you were secretly hoping for someone a little closer to your own age. It was your turn to host the biweekly movie night, however, and you had spent the afternoon preparing a variety of snacks so that everyone’s dietary requirements and preferences were satisfied.
All of the familiar faces filed into the living room, and John started fiddling with the HDMI cable attached to the TV screen. However, his actions seemed halfhearted; the new member was usually given the honor of selecting the movie for the first meeting they attended, and Nyrris (whoever that was) had yet to show up.
A quarter past eight o’clock in the evening, there at last came a heavy knock on your front door. You opened it and looked up… and then further up, toward the chin of a towering red dragonborn.
“Hi,” he rumbled. “I’m sorry I’m late. It’s weirdly hard to find vegetarian options for Korean takeout. Anyway, I’m Nyrris.”
“Did you bring food?” you asked.
“Yep. Emily told me in an email that there were fourteen club members, so I guesstimated how much everyone would eat… and I’m happy if people take leftovers home, really. I know I tend to overbuy when it comes to feeding humans—”
“It’s the host’s job to cook, so I’ve already made food for everyone,” you said.
“...Oh,” Nyrris said. He shifted his clawed grip on the bulging plastic bags full of takeout. “Well, this is incredibly awkward.”
You whipped out a reassuring smile and gestured for Nyrris to come inside. He had to stoop to prevent his horns from gouging holes in the ceiling, but made no complaint as he followed you to the kitchen and set down the bags. Everyone else came over to make their introductions as you two worked together to get the Korean takeout set up among the food you had already prepared.
“So what are you interested in watching, Nyrris?” John asked.
“It’s October, so I figured people would be in the mood for something spooky. How about the 1922 Nosferatu?”
Henrietta wrinkled her nose. “We did German Expressionist films throughout July.”
Nyrris paused, then said: “Sorry, I didn’t realize.”
“How about some romance?” you volunteered. “Maine Pyar Kiya is supposed to be one of the most sweeping and epic romantic movies ever made.”
“Why do you like Hindi movies so much?” John asked at the same time that Sam piped up with, “Rom-coms are boring.”
You narrowed your eyes at both men. You often found yourself disagreeing with Sam, who thought that Tarantino movies were the end-all-be-all of cinema, but John wasn’t usually like this.
“I think Maine Pyar Kiya is a great idea,” Nyrris said, his voice a firm baritone rumble somewhere far above your shoulder. That seemed to settle it, and everyone filled up their plates with snacks and filed back into the living room to watch the classic Indian movie. You found yourself sitting next to Nyrris, who’d made your couch creak alarming when he’d sat down. The heat radiating off of his scaled body was a welcoming warmth, and it was hard not to lean against him as the movie played.
When the credits finished rolling, everyone said their goodbyes. Nyrris stayed behind to clean up the kitchen with you and collect his takeout; he had indeed overbought, and the smaller members of the movie club had barely made a dent in the feast.
“Thanks for standing up for me back there,” you said once everyone else had left.
Nyrris chuckled. “No worries. That Sam guy sure seems like an entitled idiot, if you don’t mind me saying so.”
You snickered. “Nah, I don’t mind; he kinda is. Did you like the movie?”
“Oh, yeah, it was great—I really do mean that. I don’t watch many Bollywood movies.”
“Do you want to see more?” you asked, then felt your cheeks heating in a blush when you realized the implications of that sentence.
Nyrris grinned down at you, his horns brushing the ceiling. “With you? Anytime.”

Hiiii <3 I can't remember at all what scene had do re mi part 😭😭😭😭😭 but did you see rahul and anjali's first meeting? Also how are you liking srk so far (Rahul's actor), he is one of the greatest indian actors, especially in romance genre. Also how gorgeous Hrithik looks in this right?
Oh 😂 It’s the one where Krish is supposed to sing “Do-Re-Mi” with his class but they sing an Indian song instead (I thinkkkk it’s the Indian national anthem but not certain)
Yessss the first meeting! So cute how he sees her dancing 🥹 Though in total I feel like the romance needed a bit more development, because it was mostly just the bangle scene (which was fire 🔥) and then that long song ajsgdggsgs. And then boom they’re in love already. Though to be fair Rahul was in love with her on sight, and I guess that’s the style in Bollywood so it’s okay. They have good chemistry so we forgive 😌
Oh and also Anjali roasting him cause she thinks he’s gonna be her brother in law 💀💀
(Oh about that, were Anjali and Rukhsaar sisters or cousins? I wasn’t too sure about that. The way I understood it was that Rukhsaar just had a mom (DJ?) and Anjali just had a dad and after her dad died and Rukhsaar got married, DJ moved in with Anjali and Pooja. But I’m not certain, maybe there were more family members than that and I lost track 💀)
SRK is really good! Even though my mom first saw him and said he was ugly 😭 But he grew on even her ✨ He’s very charming and the dancing scenes definitely add to it.
Hrithik is sooo pretty in this. Though that outfit that looked like it was made from a black trash bag… 😭 Please stay out of those pleather pants honey. Other than that, ✨✨✨✨✨
OH BUT I WAS GONNA MENTION, that when you first recommended the movie to me I remember you were like “you may not like it, it’s very dramatic, lots of background music” and I was like well what can she mean, isn’t background music normal? And then I watched and I was like ohhhh. Yeahhhhh that’s a lot of background music 🤣🤣
Strangely despite having several moments while watching that I found kind of cringey, looking back on it the sum total is really good. I can totally see why this would be a classic, especially for someone who’s grown up with it. I’m going to go and try to finish it rn!!! 🏃🏻‍♀️
Also I’ve loved most of the songs, they are BOPS 💃🏻🕺🏻
