JAPAN. Hiroshima. 1951. A victim of the atomic bombing, years later.
Between 129,000–226,000 people died due to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Roughly half died on the day of the bombings. For months afterwards, large numbers of people continued to die from the effects of burns, radiation sickness, and injuries, compounded by illness and malnutrition. Over three-quarters of the dead were civilians, although Hiroshima had a sizable military garrison.

On the Salonica (aka Macedonian) front, Indian troops at a Gas mask drill.
In autumn 1915, after the fall of Serbia, Allied forces joined with Serbs to battle armies of the Central Powers and form a stable front throughout most of the war. It ran from the Albanian Adriatic coast to the Struma River, pitting a multinational Allied force against the Bulgarian Army, which was at various times bolstered with smaller units from the other Central Powers.
