Dear Maggots, I have only been a Maggot myself for about 3 years now but I'd like y'all to weigh in on some thoughts I've had about the recent albums, being .5, WANYK, and TESF.

After watching a YouTube video that had the opening second of every Slipknot song, from early days to now, I came to a realization. From pre-MFKR until AHIG I noticed what had to be 95% of the songs had something in common. I could recognize (the songs I had heard before) instantly in the first second. Even the more obscure ones by casual standards. I could recognize I Am Hated, Me Inside, Three Nil, Danger - Keep Away, Gehenna, etc. and I could recognize these obscure songs from just 1 second of the start. That of course goes double for the more famous songs of their's.

But when we got past AHIG and entered .5, I noticed that a lot of the songs either started silent or started with techno noises. Nothing that I could tell apart from the other. It seemed like a fluke when WANYK came up and most of the songs had a recognizable start. But then TESF followed and almost all of the songs' first second was silence or weird alien noises.

So I ask a question to you other Maggots, elder or not: Is a lack of that impactful start to a song part of why Slipknot doesn't feel the same as they used to?

Uhhh I was babey when I first started like actively listening to Slipknot. I wanna say like 8-10.

this one it looks like an awful family photo and i love it. also shoutout to the one shoot of all of em in the suits but technically it’s not the Whole Band so. Y’know.

34. do you have/want any slipknot related tattoos?

I don’t have any yet but I def want some! I plan on getting a mask done for sure, not sure about anything else. Heavily considering making my big forearm piece to cover a bunch of scars a SK/maybe Stone Sour tattoo? Idk
