Somethin’ Stupid: Bo Sinclair x male!reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: homophobia, angst, nickname usage.
A/N: And to your right you’ll see “ The Hardest Sinclair Confess your Love to” :) I started writing this one before Vincent’s and finished it after ;) go meeee
“So, my house tonight?” You look over at your classmate, he smirks and nods.
“Sure, we’ll meet at the front, gotta drop my keys off to Vincent.”
You’d known Bo from a distance your whole life, always watching and observing him and his twin from afar. Mom and dad always told you to be careful with boys like him. They’d get you into a lot of trouble and up until your sophomore year you agreed with them. Bo always started fights, he was always threatening someone or making sure they regret everything they said and then some.
He was a complete dick to everyone. Even people he deemed his friends.
You always avoided him until he became unavoidable your sophomore year, when he was sat right next to you for being a trouble maker.
You thought you’d been cursed or some shit. Bo was always thought to be dumb, that he made his brother do the work and he sat around waiting for the answers.
Well, that wasn’t a true, not even a bit. Bo had engaged more with you than any of the partners you had in the past. He communicated, joked, did his work. Everything you needed in a partner.
So like Bo and Vincent you two became inseparable.
-
“Nah Sarah’s just always a bitch. Tried to say some shit to my brother last week cause she was walking too slow in the halls and Vincent went to pass her. It’s been how many fuckin’ years? Still don’t know how to walk in the halls.”
You chuckle as you write down what you and Bo are gonna say for your history presentation.
“You should see Amanda and Jack. They walk slow and if they aren’t walking they’re all this.” You jokingly stick your tongue out and fake making out with the air. Bo let’s out a laugh you’re sure all of Ambrose could hear, his laugh is absolutely contagious. Not even a second later you’re laughing too.
“Oh god yeah. Should see them at parties, holy shit you’d think they’re exhibitionists or some shit.” Bo scrunched his nose, you squint and raise a brow.
“What’s an exhibitionist?”
Bo drops his face and you swear your see him blushing. He coughs awkwardly. “You really wanna know?” He asks, you nod.
“If I didn’t wanna know I wouldn’t ask. I mean I’m guessing it’s something to do with sex.”
“Yeah, they like, get off on havin’ sex in public. Fuckin’ each other, fingerin, suckin’ dick. All that.”
You nod your head, officially grasping the word.
“Where the hell do you learn these words Bo?” You slightly joke as go back to your work.
Bo shrugs. “Books.”
You stop again.
“Really?”
You knew Bo was actually extremely smart, he just never seemed like the type to have time for books, especially with him job shadowing at the gas station more it just seemed like he had his head in the hood of a car more than in a book.
“Yes, and stop looking at me like that I find time. Usually when I’m about to go to bed.” Bo shoves you lightly, your pencil runs across your note card and you frown.
“You’re rewriting this one.” You say.
“I absolutely am not, I have to finish writin’ down things on our poster. Your fault anyways for thinkin’ I don’t read.”
Your lips purse and you shove him back. He laughs and you two continue working on your project.
-
Dinner had already passed and now you and Bo were sitting in your room watching a movie on the TV your parents spoiled you with for your birthday.
“You gotta college picked out yet?”
You shrug. Bo’s been on you more than your parents about college. Saying how far you could go and how you’re more than smart enough for it. “Just waitin’ on acceptance letters s’all.”
“Least you got a few you applied to. You better send letters and call when you go.”
You look over at Bo and smirk. “What? Are you gonna miss me or somethin’?”
Bo looks away. “Don’t make me talk about my feelin’s I ain’t good at that.”
You let out a laugh tilting your head against your mattress and shake your head.
“I guess I’ll just have to admit I’ll miss you then. Unless…” You trail off, your heart clenches a little at the thought.
“Unless?” Bo moves his face in your view, looking at your face as it’s lost in thought. You look back at your friend laying on his stomach.
“You wanna come with me? I mean everyone needs a mechanic! We could be roommates and you could work for someone then end up opening your own shop, I can graduate from computer sciences and do what the hell I’ll do with that! Can move to a house too cause God knows if I’ll ever get a wife, maybe you will though you seem like you would and-“
Bo puts his hand on your shoulder, he smiles, but something about it is off and your stomach curdles. You wanna puke up tonight’s supper.
“Let’s slow down a bit yeah? You don’t need me going out there with you, wherever the hell you’ll be- don’t say you will cause it ain’t true. Also I gotta take care of Vincent and Lester, you know my Ma ain’t doin’ too well, especially after Victor past. I would wanna go with you more than anything but I can’t. I’m sure John is gonna give me the mechanic shop too after he retires. Don’t think that I don’t care for you after all this cause I do and everything you said sounds amazing, I just can’t leave and I don’t want you stayin’ either. Your life doesn’t revolve around me and I’m trying not to be selfish and wanting you to stay.”
You frown and look down at your hands, Bo takes his hand off your shoulder and gets up, the bed groaning as he stands. He moves around the bed and to your side, sitting with his knees bent and arms on them, playing with his dad’s ring.
“Bo.”
You two look each other in your eyes, your mouth opens, then closes. You can just say it. You’ll say it and get it over with. You basically already confessed. But he rejected you and he’ll reject you again. He’ll probably make fun of you. Think of you as an idiot and you’ll be embarrassed. He’ll tell someone and it’ll spread around and everyone will look at you in disgust, you’ll be ridiculed and hanged. Your corpse kicked around.
“Blue?”
Your eyes focus back in on him. “I love you.”
Your voice can’t go above a whisper, it’ll falter and break. Bo keeps staring, he won’t stop staring, why won’t he stop. Say something fucker. Anything, so you know your fate.
“Why?” His eyes are glassy. “Why do you say things like this? You’re gonna make it so much damn harder when you leave. Don’t you understand that?”
You look down but Bo is quick to take your face in his hands. “Don’t look away from me Blue. You said it and now you’re gonna deal with it.” Bo leans in, kissing your lips. You kiss back and wrap your arms around his neck.
“I’m gonna come back for you Bo. I’m gonna call you every day until I come back and your brothers can come with us too and we’ll live in some big house in buttfuck no where and we can be us.”
Tears escape your eyes and Bo quickly tries to wipe them away.
“Sounds like a plan. Then no one has to know.” Bo holds out his pinky
You take your pinky with his.
“No one has to know.”

Rules:
Tumblr media
I only do requests for TWST/PJSK/MILGRAM
No heavy angst/angst without happy ending
No NSFW
No proships
No racism/sexism/Transphobia/Homophobia
Yandere stuff depends… I think the idea is interesting, but frankly I can’t stand when it’s romanticized. So, it’s really iffy.
I do not write for the following characters:
TWST / Ace, Deuce, Trey, Cater, Jack, Leona, Jamil, Kalim, Rook, Not platonic Ortho, Silver, Sebek, not platonic Grim, all ships. I will only take simple requests for Idia (Its hard to explain why okay?)
PJSK / The ship Kanamafu, L/N, VBS, Nene, Ena.
MILGRAM / Mikoto (Listen. I’m just scared I’ll accidentally incorrectly write his DID.), Shidou, Kazui, Kotoko, any of the novel/manga characters.
PGR / Okay there’s a LOT of characters so uhm. I’ll just state the ones I write for! I write for: Pulao (Only platonic), No.21 (Also only platonic, but since I genuinely have no idea how I would write romance for her), Lucia (her writing will be smaller because shes the one here I know the least about), and Liv! Very small selection of characters, I know, but I simply don’t know enough about the other characters to write for them.
I have very specific rules about NPC's/Side characters. They have to be in a few stories, have to be in the eng translation for pjsk/twst, and I have to actually know them... Actually, I'm just gonna state the ones ill do:
TWST / Che'nya, Neige. (Mmm I really wanna write for Gidel and Fellow Honest but I know basically nothing about them, i just like their character designs and I read two fics about them and they've stolen my heart... Ill go read an eng translation of their event soon enough.)
PJSK / MAI MAI MAI I LOVE MAI PLEASEEEEE REQUEST FOR MAI, Riho.

Here I mention both fiction books and nonfiction. Opinion is purely subjective
This is all for you my fellow Tombstone fans. Thank you for being here
upd. second part here  and third part here
Disclaimer: I can read and understand English perfectly, but unfortunately  I write only with the help of two translators, mental anguish and God's help
Doc Holliday The Life and Legend - Gary L. Roberts This is a great biography 10/10. I recommend
Wyatt Earp - Casey Tefertiller This is a great biography 10/10. I recommend. This and previous biography are must have
Inventing Wyatt Earp - Allen Barra  It  is both a biography and a great research into Wyatt’s mythological image through years and generations. But a little warning, the author VERY LOVES Wyatt, be careful of little whitewashing of history. Author ship docatt, i swear
Murder in Tombstone - Steven  Lubet This is an INVALUABLE book with the analysis of the trial of the Earp brothers and the American judicial system of late 19th century. I wanna kiss author’s hands
The last gunfight - Jeff Guinn The author does not focus on personalities, but rather explores the historical context and the reasons that led to the Tombstone shootout. This is also an invaluable nonfiction book. He sneers a lot and jokes in the course of the narrative  both over the debunkers and the whitewashers. Author ship docatt, i swear
The Earp desicion - Jack DeMattos the book is entirely devoted to the description of the fight where Wyatt refereed the legendary s h i t s h o w between Robert Fitzsimmons and Tom Sharkey in 1896. Good neutral book
The Earp brothers of Tombstone - Frank Waters Author claims that his book is nonfiction true story. But this book is a F U C K I N G DEBUNKER  B U L L S H I T. HELLO FROM 60S-70S. Really, Frank Waters can suck my dick. I am RAGING. It is full of foolish exaggerations and outrageous lies that pretend to be based on Allie's Earp (Virgil’s widow) memoir (she hated her husband's brothers, especially Wyatt). and the Cowboys are Good Guys (™). You can read this book just to understand how much my ass burns
Wyatt Earp: a vigilante life - Andrew C. Isenberg Haha debunker pseudo-nonfiction shit again. The author uses a lot of unreliable far-fetched sources and has a hyperfixation on masculinity. Also he suffers from internal homophobia. I have a feeling the author jerks off on Wyatt and hates himself for it
Doc Holliday, the gunfighter - Matt Braun Actually, a really good fiction book written very pleasantly and close to the real life truth, about John Henry’s transformation into Doc
The fourth horseman - Randy Lee Eickhoff This book is even better written than the previous one. An interesting half-truth about Doc, a good fiction. A slightly mystical explanation for Doc’s luck and his known volcanic temper. Author ship docatt, i swear
Black hats - Patrick Culhane Very nice fiction book on the adventures of Doc’s son and elderly Wyatt during prohibition. Alcohol, gangsters, Al Capone. A son is a carbon copy of his father, which causes Wyatt some fEeLingS and nostalgia. I cried. And elderly Wyatt is HoT. Apparently, Kate fucked halfdead Doc in his final days in Glenwood
The winter wolf - Richard Parry This book is pure fiction about the adventures of Wyatt's son from Mattie. Unlike Doc's son, Wyatt's son is an idiot. I wanted to smash his head against the wall. Repeatedly. Dumb shit
Doc - Mary Doria Russel and Epitaph - Mary Doria Russel F I C T I O N. Doc started well. These books even concentrate on Doc's being a dentist. He makes Wyatt dentures (in this books father knocked out Wyatt's front teeth many years ago, so Wyatt NEVER smiles). I also suspect that this Wyatt is likely somewhere on the autistic spectrum (it is popular trope in  tombstone fiction really) and has an anger control problem. At first author seems to ship Wyatt and Doc, but at the end of the Epitaph, the author remembered that she was writing a sEriOuS wOrk, not a slash fanfic. And made a completely ugly ending. But the chapter of Wyatt’s fury road is BEAUTIFULLY  written.
Bloody season - Loren D.Estleman It’s a slightly dull fiction book about Tombstone events. The author has hyperfixation on dicks, on the color of dicks, on urination and defecation processes. And Doc is wifebeater (i hate this trope). But sometimes there are good jokes here. Sometimes
Trouble in Tombstone - Richard S. Wheeler Nice simple half-truth fiction retelling of the original events. The scene of the last goodbye is heartbreaking. Author ship docatt, i swear
Gunman's rhapsody - Robert  Parker Not bad fiction book. This Wyatt is likely somewhere on the autistic spectrum too. And he has a weird attitude about killing people. He doesn't give a flying fuck. For him, killing a man is like going to a grocery store. But it's interesting to watch
The frontier world of Doc Holliday - Patricia Jahns The half-fiction book started out pretty good but ended in the deepest hell. The author loves John Henry Holliday very much, but dislikes Doc Holliday. Even more, she dislikes Doc Holliday in a duet with Wyatt. And she loves when Doc suffers. The author can suck my dick
O.K. - Paul West The book started out pretty good but ended in the hell too, damn. Very loyal to Wyatt, Doc follows the Earp clan, because he senses that brothers will soon have problems and wants to die in such a way that he will be remembered. But then the author did something to Wyatt's character. Wyatt turned out to be a duplicitous perverted asshole with a craving for moral exhibitionism. I dropped the book, sorry
I have read quite a few more articles, but they are all short and same, so I see no reason to mention them here
I'm in the process of reading another book now Dodge City - Tom Clavin so I don’t know yet what can be said about it.  I have few books in the plans: Tombstone travesty - Jane Candia Coleman, Bucking the tiger - Bruce Olds

top 5 ships! ♥️
F E E L I N G S
1. rarijack
okay so. rarijack was like. my first real introduction to gay was via ninjago fanfiction i accidentally stumbled upon, but it wasn't a great fic so i didn't think much of it. then, i found myself shipping rarity and applejack even tho they were both girls. i didn't know why, and for awhile, i just. didn't think about it and simply shipped them. but this has been a comfort ship since 2013. it fills me with great joy and makes me all giddy and flappy hands and like. it's the epitome of opposites attract and being able to love someone... somepony despite being so different, learning to love what they love simply because your partner loves it. it's understanding someone on such a deep level that you can say "honestly, i don't know why you're giving me your frowny eyebrows". like. f r o w n y e y e b r o w s. to know someone so well that you can tell the different moods by their eyebrows. it's being willing to give up what you want for love, wanting the one you love to take care of themself. putting their happiness above your own until they make you take care of yourself... i just. i love rarijack so much. they are everything to me. my internet friend beth made me two rarijack stickers on redbubble and they're my favorite stickers on my laptop.
2. zukka
is anyone surprised? they mean so much to me. i love them so much. they're so important to me. sometimes, i self-project onto sokka so much that it reminds me that i'm worth loving, if that makes sense? there's so much good in zukka, so much learning and self-discovery and recovery and pure love and just. okiuhgyfdgyhuijop. my brain isn't working great right now, so that's all imma say for now, but i have so much more that i can say. brain just says no :/
3. renga
is anyone surprised? to be honest, renga is a lot of self-projection??? like. i want a langa in my life. ftgyuhioiuygfg as dumb and selfish as that may sound, i just love the way that they love each other. it's so passionate, but so natural. they love eachother and naturally as they breathe. they both brought each other happiness and meaning. reki gave langa the spark of life he was missing and langa gave reki someone who genuinely cares about what he has to say... there's just so much good and pureness in it. i love them. so much.
4. jetru
oops. jetru came out of nowhere and stole my heart. just. the potential that they have is so good. i love writing for them and i love thinking about them. they always give me this warm glow in my chest. i love this dynamic and how they would both love each other so passionately and just. ahhhhh i am so excited to write you happened verse jetru edition when i have the time because i have Ideas <3
5. jack & goldilocks
so, they're from my favorite book series, the land of stories ! i love them so much. goldilocks is a very important character to me, and her love story with jack is just so sweet and wholesome. i don't really have too much to say here because i just genuinely love them so much.
i'm doing six cause i wanna sorry
6. kiane / howzer & gilthunder
so, i don't think you know them, but kiane is king and diane from the anime seven deadly sins and howzer & gilthunder are as well! kiane is canon, the other is not but it always makes me so happy and giddy! kiane makes me feel so many good feelings! it's falling in love all over again and loving each other even when they're so far apart. they're just so pure and mean so much to me. and i headcanon howzer as gay but suffering from internalized homophobia / a maybe homophobic father and he figures it out around like s3 of the show, and gil is bi and i just love their chemistry and the way they interact and ahhhhhh wish they were canon:/

Man same, extra weird when they insist that Jack and rosemary are both cishet and make Felix's crush creepy??? I always thought of it as one sided at best and Jack is bi just never felt that way about Felix. Though I'm trans and bi myself and could like talk about internalized homophobia and Felix thinking his crush internally was gross and pushing that negativity on jack by accident (brushing him off, passive aggressive) but also I only trust myself and a handful of others w complex LGBT narratives,,,
its kinda really weird cuz it comes obvious to me when people dont see jack n rose´s as like, nuanced enough to get narratives that arent pretty run of the mill sweetness or tragedy, but also they are an idealized couple , but they are flat, but if jack n felix were together, they wouldnt be flat, but they are doomed for obvious reasons, like man i just wanna see character analysis of these characters without sidelining Rosemary out of the equation because her character is Brutalized Dead Wife n Mom , even when it comes from lgbt writing these stories so far, these are people that still kinda have tunnel vision and "slash" fandom mentality thats been ingrained out here for decades , where teens see m/m relationships as some sort of forbidden fruit while also being extremely normalized in these spaces to just , fetishize and treat gay men (and women too) as a trope by itself to project a lot of trauma and Thinking they are being subversive , but also , often perpetuating homophobia, misogyny and racism at it, like listen i am not expecting for fic writers to always know what they are doing , but im just saying theres weird correlations i notice in way too many places

Oneshot #3: Jojo’s prayers
Description: Jojo's been acting strange lately and Elmer wants to find out what's wrong. (Pairing: Jelmer; canon era)
words: 1727
warnings: internalized homophobia, paired with homophobia triggered by religion - I am not religious myself, so I hope I got nothing too wrong and I offended no one (if I did, I'm sorry and feel free to tell me)
A/N: I don't really know what to say to this but I got this idea and I couldn't help but write it down because I haven't really seen any fics about the Jojo/Elmer pairing. If you have wishes or complaints or opinions on this, feel free to comment (a comment would actually be really nice because I'm still in the process of figuring out how to write in English).
I hope you enjoy,
Sincerely, me,
Lélodie
-----
Usually, Elmer slept at home with his brothers but since two of them had caught a cold, he was staying at the lodging house to prevent getting sick as well. Right now, he was sharing a bed with Albert. The redhead normally shared his bed with Race but Race had been planning to stay over at Brooklyn for a few days anyway.
The only problem was that Albert really liked to touch while sleeping. Not that Elmer hated touches but he found it hard to fall asleep when Al's arm was nearly suffocating his chest. He contemplated waking the redhead up, however, he didn't want to disturb him while he was peacefully sleeping.
Elmer sighed and tried to turn around a bit so that he could breathe better. In the dark, he could recognize the outlines of Jojo's bed that was right beside the one he shared with Al. Jojo was an unusual guest as well. He was staying with the nun's that raised him most of the time but lately he simply didn't seem to want to return to them. He had become strangely quiet in general, Elmer had noticed.
Now, however, Elmer could hear him talk. He nearly missed it, because it was more of a murmur but after he concentrated really hard, he noticed that Jojo was talking to himself in Spanish. Was he sleep talking? In this moment, Elmer wished to be able to understand Spanish. But with his brain half asleep he even had hard times understanding English.
Curiosity was growing inside him. What would Jojo say if he wasn't able to control his brain-to-mouth filter? Elmer nearly groaned. He should stop thinking about Jojo as much as he did the last few months he had realized that maybe – just maybe – he felt more for the boy than he had originally intended to. But it wasn't his fault that Jojo's smile was addictive and his unpredictable bluntness nothing less than charming.
A few moments passed and Elmer tried to come up with the courage to softly call out to Jojo. On the one hand, he didn't know if Jojo was truly asleep and on the other hand, he wasn't even sure what he wanted to say.
But he hadn't gotten the chance to raise his voice before Henry was calling from the opposite wall. “Quiet! Some people's tryin' ta sleep.” A dump noise – he had even thrown a pillow in Jojo's direction.
“Perdón,” Jojo whispered back. So he had been awake then.
-
The next night, Elmer had trouble sleeping again but that wasn't Albert's fault. Instead, his head was spinning because he was thinking about the question if he should follow Jojo or not. He had heard the other boy getting up a few minutes ago and was worried. Jojo had seemed very pensive all day and hadn't even cracked a smile at Race and Albert's shenanigans at the circulation gate. Elmer missed his smile. But he didn't want to risk invading Jojo's privacy by kind-of-stalking him.
Once again, he didn't even get the chance to do anything any more. Albert was turning around in his sleep, throwing his arm over Elmer's chest, his leg over Elmer's and rested his head on his shoulder. Elmer laughed a little at the snoring noise that Al let out. Then he decided to just ask Jojo what was wrong in the morning.
-
According to Jojo, everything was alright. That didn't mean that Elmer believed him. And so he tried to untangle himself from Albert as gently as possible when Jojo once again snuck out at night. He found him kneeling next to the door outside, cradling something in his hands that looked oddly like a cross.
“What's you doing here?” Jojo looked at him with an indescribable expression on his face. Was he angry? Confused? Surprised? Elmer couldn't really decipher it.
A blush spread over his face. “I was worried an' wanted to see if ya were in trouble.”
“I's not in trouble, thanks. Ya can go back -”
“Why's you praying? I mean, I know that's not so strange but I's never seen you pray before.” At least, Elmer suspected that Jojo was praying, considering his kneeling position and the cross between his fingers.
“I -”, Jojo began, not quite sure what to say. Silence. Elmer didn't dare to put pressure on his friend and so he simply sat down next to him, kicking around a little stone with his feet. After a while, Jojo asked: “Can I be honest with you?”
Elmer didn't know if he should be surprised or hurt. “Of course ya can. You can trust me. I thought ya knew that.”
“I do,” Jojo exclaimed and for a moment it seemed as if he wanted to grab Elmer's hand but eventually, he decided against it. “It's just... I haven't talked ta anyone 'bout this. Not even Jack.”
“It's alright. Ya don't have ta tell me if you's not ready, Jojo.” Elmer smiled at him and his heart fluttered when he saw Jojo cracking a small smile as well.
“You's always so patient, it's annoying. I mean, not annoying annoying but cute annoying.” Jojo sighed. Then, the small smile was gone. “I have ta tell anyone 'bout this before I explode. So. Here it goes. Ya know, next to the convent, there's a house an' there was living a man who died a while ago. An' some day, I heard the nuns talkin' an' they was sayin' that the man was... a queer. An' they seemed so disappointed an' so I talked to another nun 'bout it an' she told me that it's not really bad if you's likin' boys if you's a boy. But actin' on it's sinning.” Jojo fiddled with the cross in his hands. “I don't wanna disappoint God, ya know? He has given me so much – all of you boys an' I know that there's people who have it better than we does but... I wouldn't wanna loose what I have now.”
Elmer wanted to punch himself in the stomach so that the fluttering would end.
“So I apologized and I prayed for His forgiveness. Like I's said, I don't wanna disappoint Him. But...” A deep breath. “I can't not act on it any more. Ya know what I wanna say?” Jojo didn't even dare looking Elmer in the eyes, instead fixating the street with his gaze.
Elmer felt like the breath was knocked out of his body. Had Jojo really just told him what he thought he did? “Would ya say that Racer's a disappointment?”
Confused, Jojo looked up at him, still not quite meeting his eyes. “Why would I...? Race's a bit of a danger to himself most of the time but no, he's not a disappointment. But did ya realize what I just -”
“Why do ya think Spot's letting a 'Hattan newsie stay over this long?”
It took a while but soon, realisation dawned on Jojo's face. He still seemed to be at a loss of words, though, so Elmer kept on talking: “You's not alone, Jojo. Many of the other boys fancy another boy but that doesn't make them any less worth of God's love, does it? They don't hurt anyone. They's spreading love and acceptance. That's a good thing, don't ya think?” Hesitantly, Elmer reached over and began to rub Jojo's back. Carefully, as if the other boy would break under his touch. And indeed – Jojo didn't break but Elmer could feel him slightly trembling.
As he was looking more closely, he could even see tears glistening in the corners of Jojo's eyes. “Oh, Jojo,” Elmer sighed and moved to wrap his arms fully around the other boy but Jojo suddenly leaned away from his touch.
“I's not... You's right but that doesn't mean that it's alright if I... Ya know?” Jojo stuttered a bit, more and more tears forming in his eyes.
“It's only a hug, Jojo. A hug's not a crime and it's not actin' on somethin' an' sinning,” Elmer said but he leaned a little bit away from Jojo to give him the space he needed.
“I know. But with you... it wouldn't be only a hug with you, Elmer. You understand?”
Elmer did understand. It took everything in his power not to stand up, run around, sing and hug the world. Jojo liked him back! Maybe it wouldn't be easy in the beginning but maybe... just maybe they could make it work. “I understand,” he answered, a little out of breath and smiling once again. “Just so ya know... For me, it also wouldn't be only a hug. But it's alright. I'll just sit here. Take all the time you need.”
“Thank you.” The light of the stars that were hiding behind a cloud until now was illuminating Jojo's face, framing his smile and dancing over his head, making him look like either an angel or a saint. Elmer couldn't have been more happy than in this moment.
-
The next night, a small voice startled him. “Elmer?”
Elmer turned around, glad that Albert hadn't already begun to cuddle him. He was met with Jojo's face, only centimetres away from his. “Yes?”
“Can ya... Can ya hold me while I's sleeping?” Jojo seemed so unusually unsure although he had been his smiley self all day again.
Elmer couldn't help but ask cautiously. “What does God say to this?”
Only now did Elmer realize that Jojo was fiddling with the cross from the day before in his hands. “I... asked him to tell me what's right in my situation. An'... An' then the stars were shinin' down on you an'... I think that's a sign. That maybe he isn't mad at me.”
Elmer chuckled. “Nobody could stay mad at ya for long, Jojo.”
“I knows, I's a real sunshine, ain't I?” Jojo laughed.
From the opposite wall, they could hear Henry murmur: “What's a boy gotta do to make you shut up?”
“Sorry, Henry. We'll be more quiet now,” Elmer apologised. Then, he turned back to Jojo. “Go on, I'll be with ya in a second.”
-
“Elmer?”
“Yes?”
“I's glad I got ya.”
“I's glad I got ya, too.”

Thoughts on Jamie Johnson 5x08
I actually don’t even know what to think. You guys don’t understand. Do you know how serious this episode was? It was so serious, that my afternoon nap was delayed so I could write this post. And only important things stop my head from hitting the pillow.
Last week was Dillon’s glorious coming out, a beautiful moment to put an apex to all the tension between Dillon and Elliot. This week, Dillon’s coming out continues, for better or for worse.
I love how *all* of this episode centered around Dillon coming to terms with being out/being outed. It underlined the significance and severity of the moment. Somebody check up on Patrick Ward’s back because he was carrying this episode, and I know we’re all here for Dillon but he truly is the most fascinating character on the show.
Delliot getting ready to see each other after the previous day’s shocking events was such a cute scene. We all know that the characters on this show tend not to feel any way about anybody romantically, so just seeing those two try to look/smell nice for somebody they may feel some-kind-of-way about...ah, there goes those memories of mine again, haha.
And of course, I for the most part like Elliot’s role as someone who’s a little bit more experienced and can help out a baby gay like Dillon. Elliot being so different from everybody else we’ve met thus far on the show not only makes him fascinating to us, but to Dillon as well. On the other hand, I did not like that 1) Elliot almost immediately went and told Ruby and 2) after helping out Dillon with his gay journey, he mayhaps yeeted off into the sunset.
Ya know, if Hansard and Harry and Indira and Molly and Savage and Wozza and Jethro and Jack’s awesome dad and the different-somehwat-prominent-black-male-extras-on-the-team-each-season didn’t exist, I would have more faith that Elliot might have more of a role in the story moving forward. But this show has proven time and time again that if the character’s name isn’t Jack, then once the story is done with you it’s done. At this point in his journey, it maybe isn’t the best idea that Dillon get involved in a relationship. That makes sense. But to maaaaaybe reduce Elliot to a m*****l n***o? I don’ like det.
It *seems* from what the show has presented thus far, that the only narrative purpose for Elliot to tell Ruby about Dillon is so that [both in-story and in the writer’s room] Dillon can have a reliable shoulder to lean on who is [and this is the important part] not Elliot. With him out of the picture, now Dillon’s go-to is Ruby if he needs a sounding board. And I have no idea why that’s the story-angle they’re going for. Perhaps Elliot threatens the status quo, which is “all of our characters are hopelessly, eternally single.”
But who knows, maybe I’m completely wrong and these last couple of paragraphs are irrelevant. Maybe not.
SN: Seriously, this show’s ships is definitely an interesting writing decision. Thinking about all the ship inequality thinkpieces that came out of the Andi Mack era, let’s talk about how the only canon het ship on this show that may give you feelings like Delliot is Jack and that rich guy whose name I’ve already forgotten.
Do you wanna know what? Today was the most sympathetic I’ve ever been for Liam, and yet in this episode he did the most despicable thing he’s ever done. Well, maybe I’m not sympathetic per se, but at least I realize that he’s just another victim of his father’s emotional abuse. You know, Joseph’s brothers felt neglected too, and I never said “well maybe their father could’ve treated them better” when they sold their brother into freakin’ slavery. There has to be a line between seeing Liam as a victim and seeing him as just plain evil. Or maybe it’s a Venn Diagram. Either way, I’m still not a fan. I wonder what redemption for this character looks like.
I just like that this show was so unafraid to go there. It is completely unprecedented in any TV show intended for children/young teens...at least to my knowledge. I’m gonna make it very clear that I’m not trying to downplay other shows’ accomplishments, but coming out really is an internal and external journey. One is how you feel about yourself, and the other is how others react. This is my opinion, but some shows have really got the internal part down (DOAFP was GOAT-tier with this one); however, when the time comes to do the external part, the show either doesn’t go there or kinda just limps over the finish line. Does that make sense? Am I just rambling?
I think of all the programs that I’ve watched, this show has already done the best job of reconciling those two aspects of coming out. Besides The Fosters, perchance. Some people will be right by your side, others may need time. Despite all of the blatant and frankly disgusting homophobia that we saw on the program, the show made it clear that this is just what I said: a journey. There may be hope yet.
Also in this episode: Eric feels bad, because he did wrong and also because his “friends” are being generally dickish to him, and Jamie is also here to tell Dillon he did phenomenally at the cup (which, just a portion of that energy would’ve been great yesterday for the entire team, but go awf Mr. Johnson). I guess I should take away that Jamie and Dillon are in a way better place than they’ve been before. Great.
So there ya go. I must say, that was probably a Top 3 episode of this TV show. Which is why that preview for next week made me say, “Okaaaaay…” So wait, are Boggy and Jamie just like BFF’s again? Are we gonna address the nonsense that Jamie was spewing last week? Are Kat and Zoe just friends like that now? Are we gonna address the nonsense that Zoe was up to last week? WAIT, Freddie wants to spend time with just Alba and Eric? ARE WE GOING TO ADDRESS THE NONSENSE Y’ALL WERE ON LAST WEEK?
I will keep going to bat for Eric, idc idc.
See ya next week. Off to take my nap.

For the bad things bingo, what about an e.d or coughing up blood involving the delanceys and the newsies? Like the newsies find out that one of the brothers (or both) have an e.d or catch one of them coughing up blood or something.
Okay!
I wasn’t really sure what to do for this one, since I really don’t write the Delanceys all that often anymore. And I know some people don’t like giving the a redemption arc, which... I don’t fully understand, but it is what it is, I suppose.
Anyways, this is set in really whatever time period ya’ll want. It’s pretty vague and pretty short but it does have one or two homophobic slurs in it, so beware!

Prompt: Coughing Up Blood
Fandom: Newsies
Characters: Morris Delancey, Jack Kelly, Racetrack Higgins, Oscar Delancey (mentioned), Weasel (mentioned)
Words: 1k+
Summary: Hiding is hard. It always has been.
Bar Fight
He had no idea how he ended up here. Sitting against the wall of the bathroom at Jacobi’s bar.
He hadn’t meant to defend anyone. It was never in his nature. He’d been conditioned not to. He’d been conditioned to not care. Him and his brother.
If someone couldn’t fight back for themselves, they deserved to be beat. It’s what Wiesel always said.
But that kid… he didn’t deserve to be spoken to like that. He didn’t deserve to be hit just because he was trying to be happy.
“Morris…” somebody called. Morris tried to open his eyes. But it didn’t work. “Morris… we called an ambulance. N’ we called Oscar… but ya gotta stay awake. God, please just stay awake…”
The kid sounded frantic.
“Racer, take a breather—“
“Let go of me!”
Morris coughed. Something tasted horrible.
“Jack, he’s coughin’ up blood!”
“Race, go out n’ let those cops take your statement. I’ll be out in a minute…” For a moment nothing happened. “Tony, now,” the other man eventually stressed.
It was a long moment before Morris heard someone shuffle away. And someone else helped him sit up. “Okay, Morris just breathe for me…”
He hadn’t meant to get in the middle of it. But the look on that kid’s face had been so familiar.
”Oh are you married?”
“No… it’s… it’s just a promise ring… he gave it ta me before he went into the military right after high school… he’s comin’ back in a few weeks—“
“I’m sorry, did you say ‘he’?”
The young bartender looked up. His blue eyes were a bit frightened when he realized what he let slip. He shouldn’t have to be scared of it.
That’s what caught Morris’s attention.
“Um… yeah… yeah, it’s my boyfriend,” he stated, clearly trying to be brave and failing. His coworker, his foster brother, Morris remembered, had just gone on break. The kid was out here alone. And he was now avoiding eye contact with the big stranger.
Morris had been coming to this bar for years now. It was the best one in his hometown. Good music, good beer and easy to access. Only problem was, everyone he went to high school with was there too. Some of them even worked there.
“I’m sorry… is there someone else working tonight?”
“I’m the only one not on break…” the kid stated, wanting away from the situation.
Morris took a sip of his drink, swallowing hard as he tried not to make it obvious that he was fully invested in this conversation.
“I’m sorry, I’m not going to give my money to some fag. I think what you do is disgusting and I won’t support it.”
Morris flinched at the ugly word, looking up at the boy who he used to steal money from in high school. Race had been a freshman. He’d been a senior. He was sure he’d bullied the kid into doing homework for him from time to time.
Maybe that’s why Jack had always started fights with him back then.
The man could remember walking through the halls with his brother, watching all the other students duck their heads, hoping they weren’t their next victim. Sometimes Morris wished he could go back and change it.
After all, the only reason he picked on those kids is because Wiesel couldn’t know that he was just like them. Scared. Alone. Terrified.
Queer.
He felt sick.
“Uh-hm… m-my… J-Jack will be back out in a few minutes… I’m—“
“Is that your manager, cause I wanna talk to him.”
“Okay… he’s just gonna be a few minutes…”
“I’m sorry, are you stupid too? No, I asked to see your manager. You’re disgusting and I will not be finishing my night talking to you. In fact, I’ll be taking back the tip—“
“S-sir, please, I’m not hurting anyone… I’m just tryin’ ya do my job—“ Race stuttered, trying to reason with the man.
But the stranger stood, knocking over his stool as he did so.
Morris winced, picking up his beer, almost heading towards the door, unable to watch this, before he heard the definite sound of a fist connecting with flesh.
He froze at that, like so many others did.
He willed himself to just walk away. This wasn’t his fight. If Race wanted to win, he could.
“Get offa me!” the boy cried.
Morris hadn’t spoken to Race in years. Despite frequenting the bar where he worked, he made it a point to talk mostly to the waitresses rather than the bartenders. He didn’t like to think about what he’d done to that poor kid.
No doubt the boy still hadn’t forgiven him for any of it.
Morris wouldn’t blame him.
He heard the kid scream.
And he couldn’t just walk away this time.
The young man took another swig of his beer before setting it back on the counter and turning around to find Race struggling against an iron fist tightening in the front of his shirt. The man’s arm was reared back for another hit, probably to match the swelling right eye.
Morris let out a breath and let instinct take over for the first time in his life.
And suddenly he was on top of the man.
Or the man was on top of him.
He just couldn’t remember.
“Hey, hey, are ya with me? Cmon, man, I know we ain’t never gotten along, but ya still got a life ta live…”
Morris coughed again. This time he could feel the blood that dripped from his lips. “Wh-where’s Oz?” he asked, his voice small and weak.
“He’s comin’. But we gotta get you to a hospital—“
“Jack—“ he was cut off by another fit. Jack’s hand came down on his back. It was an odd feeling. He’d never been comforted by anyone other than Oscar. The second someone tried, he’d clam up and shove them away. But not this time. “I-I’m sorry—“
“Delancey, you mighta’ been a real dick in high school, but I’m pretty sure ya just saved my brother's life, so let’s just call it even, alright?” Jack rushed out. Morris let his eyes slide open, just able to make out the blurry image of the guy who used to be his nemesis. He looked almost frantic. Morris let out a breathy groan when something pressed over his stomach. It felt soft, like a sweatshirt of some kind. He tried to push the hands away. But he was too tired. “No, man… c’mon, you ain’t goin’ down like this. That guy was drunk. Ya really wanna die by beer bottle?”
It was almost a joke. Morris laughed. “B-betta’ n’ how y’r g’nna die…” he choked out, his hands over Jack’s as he tried to help stop the bleeding.
“Oh yeah? How’m I goin’ out?” Jack challenged, a relieved smile on his face when he found that Morris was still smug as ever.
“Pr’obly gonna jump off a buildin’ on a dare…” he slurred.
Jack shrugged. “Hey, that ain’t so bad. Least people will know I ain’t chicken, right?”
Morris grunted as the pressure increased. The door was pushed open and Race rushed back into the room. “The ambulance just got here! Morris, you’re gonna be okay—“
The kid was cut off as EMTs rushed in and ushered him out of the way. Jack tried to move, but, in a move of desperation, Morris reached back for him, and Jack took his hand. “Hey, you’re gonna be alright, man…”
“J’st… wan’ Oscar…” he breathed.
“Oscar’s coming, Morris. Promise,” Jack assured, giving him a nod as he was maneuvered onto the stretcher and the team began to rush him to the ambulance.
“‘Kay…” he breathed as they began to strap him down.
Race bit his lip as he watched them take the man away. Jack put an arm around his shoulders to steady him but the kid was still trembling. “H-he defended me, Jack…” the twenty one year old let out shakily.
Jack nodded. “Yeah, kid… I know…” he sighed out.
The pair watched the bully as he was rushed back through the bar, clinging to life.

... claws my way up from hell once more and vomits onto the dash.... hello. its nora. i used to write rory bergstrom, but if u were here before that u might remember me as greta or alma putnam or..... som1 else.... an endless carousel of trash children..... this is finn, who i actually wrote for an early version of this rp abt 5yrs back now...... grits teeth..... so forgive me if im rusty i havent written him in a long time but seein honey boy gave me a lotta finn muse n im keen to get Back On The Horse yeehaww...
DYLAN O’BRIEN / CIS-MALE — don’t look now, but is that finn o’callaghan i see? the 25 year old criminology and forensic studies student is in their graduate year of study year and he is a rochester alum. i hear they can be judicious, adroit, morose and cynical, so maybe keep that in mind. i bet he will make a name for themselves living off-campus. ( nora. 24. gmt. she/her )
shakes my tin can a humble pinterest, ma’am....
finn has a bio pasted at the bottom (n written in like.... 2015.... gross) but it’s long  so if u don’t wanna read it here’s the sparknotes summary..... anyway this was written years ago n a lot of it seems really cliche and lame now but..... we accept the trash we think we deserve
grumpy, ugly sweater wearing, tech-savvy grandpa
very dry sense of humour and embraces nihilism.
if ron swanson and april ludgate had a baby it would be finn
he was raised in derry, just south of dublin.
from a big family. elder sister called sinead. he also has a younger sister (aoife), a younger brother (colm), and a collie named lassie because his father lovs cliches (finn hates cliches but loves his dog).
his father was a pub landlord and his mother worked at the market sellin fruit n veg when they met but got a job as a medical receptionist when she had kids cos it meant she cld be there with them in the day and work nights.
his parents met when they were p young and fiesty and rushed into marriage cos they were catholic n just wanted to have sex. his family were literally dirt-poor, but they had a lot of love i guess
hmmmmm his relationship w his father wasn’t the best cos i can’t write character who have healthy relationships w their parents throws up a peace sign. yh, had a pretty emotionally distant, alcoholic violent father n so gets a lot of his bad habits i.e. drinking as a coping mechanism and poor anger management from him BUT anyway
as a kid he was never very motivated in class, he always had a nervous itch to be off somewhere doing something else. struggled under government austerity bcso there just wasn’t the resources to support low income families where the kids had learning difficulties n needed support. fuck the tories am i right
his mum suggested he try sports to help w his restless energy but he was never any good at football so he took up boxing and tap dance instead. he took to tap dancing like a fish to fuckin water. as adhd n found this as a really good way to use his excess energy in a creative way
had a few run ins with the police in his early teens for spray painting and graffiti, but he straightened himself out n now actually considering becoming a detective inspector??? cops are pigs.
he had a youtube channel where he posted videos of him tapdancing and breakdancing as a kid, basically would be a tiktok boy nowadays, n had like... a small fanbase in his early teens. attended several open auditions unsuccessfully, until he was finally cast in billy eliot when he was fifteen.
during billy eliot he began dating an italian dancer called nina. they became dance partners soon after and toured across the republic with various different shows (inc riverdance lol the classic irish stereotype). their relationship was p toxic tbh, they were both very hot tempered people and just used to argue and fight all the time.
he went semi-pro at tap dancing, and nina couldn’t stand being second best so she moved back to italy with her family. ignored his texts, phone calls, etc, eventually he was driven to the point where he used his savings to buy a plane ticket, showed up at her house and she was like wtf?? freaked out and filed a restraining order accusing him of stalking.
he was fined for harassment and then returned home to derry, but after the incident with nina he quit dancing for good and finished his leaving cert before heading to university in the US to get as far away from nina and his past life as poss. and basically since he quit dancing to study forensics (death kink. finn cant get enough of that morgue. just walks around sayin beat u) he’s become a massive grump and jsut doesn’t see the good in people any more.
u’ll find finn in an old man bar drinking whiskey bc he is in fact an old man at heart or sat on his roof smoking a joint, drawing wolves and lions and skeletons and shit, playing call of duty or getting blazed or at the corner of the room in a house party ignoring everyone and scrolling through twitter. is a massive e-boy. always up-to-date on memes and internet slang. has reddit as an app on his phone
not very good at communication. rather than solve his issues by talking, he’d prefer to just solve them through fighting or running away from his problems hence why he has come halfway across the world to get away from an issue which probs cld have been solved w a few apology emails.
takes a lot to phase him, but when his beserk button gets pressed he can become a bit pugnacious like an angry lil rottweiler. in his undergrad he was in a few fist fights but doesn’t really do tht any more as he doesn’t condone violence.
in the previous version of this rp he was hospitalised like 5 times. pls, give my son a break. stop tryin to kill him. he literaly got a bottle smashed over his head and bled out all over his favourite angora rug that was the only light of his life
works at the campus coffee shop n always whines about how he’s a slave to capitalism. always smells of coffee
lives off campus with an elderly woman named Marianne, and basically gets reduced rent bcos he makes her dinner / keeps her company. they have a great bond
fan of karl marx. v big on socialism
insomniac with chronic nosebleeds
cynical about everything. too much of a fight club character 4 his own good n has his head up tyler durden’s sphincter
always confused or annoyed

full bio (lame as fuck written years ago..... pleathe...)
tw homophobia
born in quigley’s pub on the backstreets of sunny dublin, young finnegan o'callaghan was thrown kicking and screaming into the rowdy suburbs of irish drinking culture. the son of a landlord and a fishwife, he never had much in the way of earnings, but there was never a dull moment in his lively estate, where asbo’s thrived, but community spirit conquered. at school, finn was pegged as lazy and unmotivated, though truly his dyslexia made it hard for the boy to learn in the same environment of his peers and only made him more closed-off in class. struggling with anger management, finn moved from school to school, unable to fit the cookie-cutter mould that school enforced on him, though whilst academic studies were of little interest to the boy, he soon found his true passions lay in recreational activities. immersed into the joys of sport from as young as four, finn was an ardent munster fan and anticipated nothing more than the day he could finally fit into his brother’s old pair of rugby boots.
his calling finally came unexpectedly, not in the form of rugger, but through dance. to learn to express himself in a non-academic way, he began tap dancing, finding therapy in the beat of his soles against the cracked kitchen tiles (much to his mother’s disgrace). it wasn’t a conscious choice, finn just realised one day that dance was something that made him feel. a king of the streets, finn made his fortune on those cobbled pavements – dancing and drawing to earn his keep. by default, finn became a street artist, each penny he earned from his chalk drawings saved in a jam jar towards buying his first pair of tap shoes. though many of his less-than-amiable neighbours called him a nancy and a gaybo, finn refused to quit at his somewhat ‘unconventional’ hobby, for the young scrapper found energy, life, and released anger through the rhythm of tap. soon he branched out into street dance, hip hop, break dancing, lyrical, his days spent smacking his scuffed feet against the broken patio into the night.
when he was thirteen he took up boxing, and as expected, his newfound ‘macho’ pastime conflicted with his dancing. the boxers called him ‘soft’; the dancers called him ‘inelegant’. he felt like two different people; having to choose between interests was like being handed a knife and asked to which half of himself he wished to cut away. he couldn’t afford professional training in dance, with most schools based in england and limited scholarships available. instead, he made the street his studio, racking up a small fanbase on youtube. when he was fifteen he made his debut in billy eliot at the olympia theatre in dublin. enter nina de souza, talented, beautiful and italian; ballet dancer, operatic singer, genius whiz kid, and spoiled brat. she was selfish, conceited, hell bent on getting her own way, and every director’s nightmare. finn fell for her like a house of cards. he’d always had a soft spot for girls who meant trouble. and so their hellish courtship began.
by the time they were seventeen, the two young swans had danced in every playhouse across the republic. they were known in theatres across the country for their tempestuous personalities, their raging arguments with one another, their tendency to drop out of shows altogether without any notice, yet the money kept rolling in and the audiences continued to grow. for three years, their families continued to put up with their hysterical fights followed by passionate reconciliations. he was too possessive, and she was too wild. their carcrash of a relationship finally came to a catastrophic halt when nina broke off the whole affair and returned to italy with her family. for months finn tried to contact her, yet his phone calls, texts, facebook messages were always ignored, until finally he was driven to drastic measures and used his savings to get a plane to her home town. when finn turned up uninvited at nina’s house she freaked out – and rightly so – she contacted her agent, accused him of stalking her, and had a restraining order placed against him. finn was arrested, held in a station overnight, and charged with harassment before he was allowed to return to dublin.
after the incident with nina, finn lost the fight in his eyes. he became far more hostile, far less likely to retaliate with his own fists, and picked fights not for the thrill of feeling his own fists pummel another into a wall, but for the sensation of his own brittle bones cracking. he dropped his tap shoes in a dumpster, stopped talking to his friends, followed his father’s advice and went back to school to complete his leaving certificate. a few short months later, and finn was packing his bags, saying his bittersweet goodbyes, and travelling half-way across the globe to be as far away as possible from his past self, his mess of a life, and most of all nina. it seemed somehow ironic that the boy who had been cautioned by the garda so much during his youth for spray painting, busking without a liscence, and raucous parties would become the grumpy, aloof overseas student studying a degree in criminology; that his once reckless spirit could be crushed so easily.
of all things that finn could be called, straightforward would never be one of them. ever since his first days in atticus, the boy was pegged as hostile, hot-headed, cynical, rude. he seemed to spend more time in his thoughts than engaging in conversation. like a ticking time-bomb, finn’s anger was of the calm kind, liable to explode without a moment’s noticed. his unpredictable personality make him something of an enigma to those who aren’t amiable with the lad, though hostile as he may appear, he harvests a good heart. loyalty lies at the centre of his affections, and whilst his friends are few in number, he makes a lifelong partner. somewhere within finn, there’s still some fight left, but mostly he has recognised that his hedonistic lifestyle did little to leave him fulfilled – mostly, it just emptied him out – and over his three years at university has resigned himself to a nihilistic predicament.

Omg I love your writing style so much ❤️ It always hits in the right places 😏 As I see you have requests open may I ask for historical AU with Taehyung being a nobleman son and his and reader's wedding night when they never (or barely) saw each other before a wedding? You know they don't know each other but they have to do it 😩 If you don't feel like writing this anything else with Tae will be fine with me 😉
My Word To Treat You Well [M]

Appalling. Twenty or more people would offer you a hundred bucks to know whether Prince Taehyung was good in bed or not.
Probably to sell the juicy secret to The Daegu Herald or Gyeongsang Sentinel for twice the money. You’d get extra pay for revealing what he was into. Meanwhile, you yourself wondered about that. The cash went past your gloved hands under mid-July’s oppressive evening heat, waiting for the crowds to disperse with your relatives departing, too. The tedious diplomatic talks, over-the-top banquets, shrill music, and painful dances were over. Familiar stars shed soft lights on the rattling carriages that headed north from the Kim Palace. That was the only thing good about this day. It was hard knowing Ilsan was so far away. You mother, widowed Queen Choi, had left you with a plea to all the strength you possibly have. And she must know how it is.
You were looking forward to throwing your heeled shoes into the palace pond, not fucking the Crown Prince. He had been acting arrogant with his friends all day, tripping waiters. In fact, you thought he was Daegu’s number one blockhead. Next to his unruly partner in crime: Yoongi from the local Min family. He loved to harass and mock the elderly guests while Taehyung laughed along. The Min clan wears their blue emblem with such a toxic haughtiness, even Prince “Phony” Jimin of Busan wouldn’t compare. Thankfully, the latter had remained absent today and didn’t make things worse. Because that Min guy was already prickly, a textbook bad influence to Taehyung. The kiss in front of the altar had been enjoyable, that was true. He didn’t smell, he didn’t use tongue or teeth, he kept it short and smiled courteously. The Prince was attractive and well-dressed, sure. That was good enough down the aisle. He wouldn’t start too many dances either. But Kim had soaked up the aristocratic mannerism so much, at the ball it felt like he wanted to own this place. Which he didn’t. Namjoon was still the one in charge in both this province and the palace. It seemed like the Kim patriarch’s iron rule had raised a glaring thorn in his crown. And you had to deal with him now: In bed. It’s a cruel world.
Prince Taehyung comes waddling along the marble corridor with relative unease. He seems aimless, maybe drunk. Prince Prick is not with him. They had been glued together the entire day, more than you were supposed to spend time with Taehyung instead. On the one hand, protocol breach would cause atrocious chatter. On the other hand, having Taehyung off the hem of your hanbok frankly was congenial. Maybe Yoongi was quite a convenient figure on this chess board. You’d keep that in mind. Waiting for Taehyung to arrive was awkward enough. But as he just stood there blank-faced like a statue for a solid minute, you took the liberty to just drag him to your chamber by the lapel. What a huge moron. He lands on the canopy bed quite frightened, but it leaves you cold. “Let’s just get it over with,” you tower at the lower end of the bed, “you whip your cock out, shove it in three times, dump your jizz so Daegu gets an heir, and we’ll go to bed. Me, I’ll just pretend I’m dead.”
Taehyung looks even more flabbergasted. You don’t know if it was the language or the directness. Probably both. You let yourself fall right next to him, kicking off the nasty restrictive shoes. The chambermaids had at least managed to remove your bride headpiece and the ridiculous, scratchy ceremonial wig. It was one of the major reasons why you hated marrying in summer. They also fidgeted at your head to wipe off the goo that was supposed to be face paint before you snapped and sent them away. They should enjoy the evening and not bother with your oh-so costly attire that was only designed to trouble you anyways. It didn’t even look as beautiful and regal as what Taehyung had worn. He was all the rage while people slandered you the second you were out of sight as your mother had remarked. It was just important that he was married. It preserved the patrilineage and elevated his status, not you as the wife and new member of the family. The future Queen of Daegu, in fact. But they didn’t seem to respect that.
That way, they had “decorated” you. Criticizing all sorts of things about your appearance. Nobody in Ilsan had bothered, thought something was not right or good-looking. Nor did you. Queen Choi had insisted beauty was not a female ruler’s most important asset. It was power, plain and simple. That is what rulership is about. She warned you that the house of Kim had more double standards. You yourself didn’t think making a Princess less confident and secure in herself was particularly benevolent. Nose too long, hands too broad, voice too loud, height too tall, hair too coarse, eyes to narrow, skin too tan, hips not wide enough for having kids? All they wanted was a weak, pregnant fairy glued to Taehyung’s side by day. And a mute fuckdoll to keep his dick wet by night. You weren’t wrong saying you would play dead. That is how passive they wanted you to be here. And as anxious and self-conscious as possible, that no deeper thought about this rotten palace would ever cross your mind. “My ears are too ugly for me to have authority!” thought no king ever.
You undress ripping away the satin, pearls, embroidered sticks, emeralds, ribbons. All the layers of hanbok have to go. They land on the floor while Taehyung remains dumbfounded. Once the work is done, you’re in the underwear that’s been itching and sweaty all day. You lift the blanket, then roll your eyes at the Prince. “I’m kidding. Move, I want to sleep. Everything hurts.” You’re about to blow out the candle on your nightstand that Taehyung finds his words. “Hey, I’m sorry,” he murmurs, “I had hoped you had fun with us today.” He looks depressed now. “It’s arranged, this is not cloud nine,” you reply, “Good night, I don’t need your fake concerns.” Taehyung jumps up from the bed. “At least put on something comfortable, Princess,” he points to the showy wardrobe left to the entrance. “You just wanna see me naked to jack off while I sleep,” you growl, pulling the blanket tight over your chest. Taehyung rummages in the wardrobe, then tosses over a plain, long nightshirt. “I’ll go to the other chamber until you open.”
And indeed, he slips into the adjacent dressing room and closes the door shut. He turns the key, flicks it into your boudoir underneath the door. You quickly change into the green gown in a dark corner. It’s light and cooling. You tiptoe across the room and yank open the door after you unlocked, suspecting to catch Taehyung while he eavesdrops or looks through the keyhole. But no, he’s sitting at the window in a chair watching the night sky, startled at the vehement entrance. “Y/N, what’s wrong?” he whines, pale and daunted in the moonlight. “Nothing,” you snarl and return to bed. He just follows reluctantly. Where did insolent Prince Taehyung go? It has to be another joke or farce. He had entertained everyone with offensive shenanigans all day.
You curl yourself together at the farthest possible point from him as he comes to lay down. Soon, some of his warmth sneaks across underneath the blanket. Disgusting. The topmost dipshit of Daegu is in the same bed as you. That alone makes you want to puke. On Namjoon’s throne, at best. He raised the scum. For a while, everything remains silent. But the heat, moonlight, and his breath won’t let you sleep, let alone his mere presence. Who knows what he does to you when you don’t pay attention any longer. You would be glad to pass the night without getting groped at least once. After what felt like hours, you just wind back and forth. At some point, you accidentally ram him hard in the flank with your elbow. The following whimper sounds so horrifying that you jolt up in a cold sweat. “Please, please don’t hurt me,” he trembles, holding his ribs in pain. Serves him right. “I didn’t want this either. He beats me already. Please don’t hurt me, please!” He’s almost bawling. You’re quite impressed by these acting skills. “Calm it Kim, I was just trying to turn around. Can’t sleep, thank you very much.” - “Me either… I’m very sorry!” Now you bellow at him. “Sorry, sorry, I’m sorry all the time. Are you no longer mean or what?” Taehyung looks like he might as well wet himself any second. The guards might have heard, but you’d be happy to get thrown into a cold jail cell. “Y/N, if I’m not acting like that I’ll get hit,” he answers, pulling down the impossibly high neckline of his gown.
Oh.
Fuck.
Green and blue marks — everywhere. One above the solar plexus looks new. Taehyung notices you staring at it. “He did it so I would promise to be tough with you tonight,” he says, covering his chest once the shame becomes too unbearable. “It’s really all an act?” - “It’s how everyone here does it, it’s normal. But we shouldn’t speak about it…” - “And Yoongi? Jimin?” - “They’re not like that when we’re alone,” he affirms, “it’s all to play along. Jimin got shoved down the stairs by his dad last week. He broke his leg just because he refused to marry an unknown woman. Yoongi’s dad threatened to do the same. All three of us have to marry this year, it’s protocol. Jimin got denied medical attention by King Park. That’s why he’s not here.”
Now you get why Taehyung showed up dizzy and shut down after you grabbed at his suit. The dressing room reaction was similar. He’s not drunk, or anything like that. The King just gave him a heavy disciplining minutes before he appeared in the corridor. And Jimin — there’s no way the life of the party would stay at home without something this severe going on. It’s Prince Taehyung’s wedding, after all, the event of the year. They really pushed him down the stairs. You can’t believe it. He could be dead by now. The southern royals are as fucked up as you suspected, just in a way that’s… ten times worse than you’ve seen at the ball.
There’s a legitimate reason as to why you thought they were all completely unlike themselves. It really is a tragedy behind the scenes. You enclose Taehyung in a caring hug while he’s crying his eyes out, your nightgown soaking it all up. “I have to apologize, too,” you soothe while he hangs feebly in your embrace. The tears slowly disappear after you’re petting his hair, mumbling excuses. His body feels slack and empty. You suggest going outside to visit the small palace garden. Walking through the solemn corridors barefoot, hands intertwined, it feels much closer to how you wished your day should have been like. The guards at the main gate appear quite surprised to see you walk around at such a late time. But both stand tall with a nod and the obligatory congratulations as you state the destination. Taehyung hides his swollen eyes behind his bangs as you inform them. They let you pass without resistance.
You seat your husband on the edge of the central fountain. The surrounding roses, hydrangea, and dahlia flower beds emit a tranquilizing haze, along with the bubbling water and warm summer breeze. Your throbbing headache says goodbye. Walking on the tingly grass is a welcome relief, too. There are no clouds above you, the sky is lucid. The Prince looks up sighing deeply. “Taehyung, you like the stars, too?” He nods. You point out your favorite constellations to each other. Boötes, Virgo, Scorpius. Cassiopeia, too, she’s among the easiest to spot. Taeyhung looks handsome and frail in the tender moonshine. He’s really a beautiful man, rivaling the stars. Or complementing them. You pluck a cream white rose for him to hold, and he is careful with the thorns. “That’s for scaring you.” You pick another, coral red. “For the elbow accident.” A third one is bright orange and yellow. “To heal your chest.” You lean close to his face for the fourth flower – your mouth brushing over the bridge of his nose, then uniting your lips. “And this, Prince Kim, is my word to treat you well.”
Back in bed, you’ve cast away the heavy blanket and gowns. The clear moonlight has come to serve as an advantage now. Taehyung’s head is buried between your legs, tongue curling up and down gently. His large hands cup at your hips with fondness. You’re mindful not to put pressure on his upper body while you’re above him, facing his feet. His chest looks times worse than what you’ve seen when he first showed it. There are thin scars on his legs, too. You hope that every kiss mends them just a little bit, even if it’s just inside his heart. Taehyung tastes balmy and mellow when you circle your tongue around his length. It’s fun to plant your lips on his tip to sink down swaying right and left with your head, feeling his serpentine veins brush past the corners of your mouth. That’s a dick you’ll keep wet three times a day when the mood is right. He’s magnificent, better than all the savory cakes from the buffet. You regret having rejected a bath in your imperious fury earlier, now feeling ready to earn the title: Most obnoxious and smelling Crown Princess that the kingdom has ever seen. But Taehyung doesn’t care one bit, indulging you with graceful little flicks and dips at your clit. It’s so amazing. Maybe you’re not as malodorous and unbearable as you think. Because you’re comparing yourself to the sky-high golden standards of Taehyung. Which is probably what Namjoon’s mind control aims for. Then you will indeed think you’re just a meaningless fairy puppet by sheer comparison. That, you realize, is something to cast away. Taehyung is Taehyung, a wonderful delicate person and spouse. You are you. Queen Choi’s most unyielding daughter, to-be sovereign among her ranks of power, and impending defender of the Prince to install justice. Namjoon will pay for every mark he left.
After sunrise, you already have to confront a perverse mob of “two hundred bucks? three hundred bucks?” fanatics led by chief servant Hoseok. You command them to rather spend the money on sending Prince Park a proper doctor. They swallow the bait, pester for details. You know better not to get hanged for treason on your first day as Princess of Daegu. Instead, you send them off with a trusted contact’s name at Park Palace, knowing they will not stop until they discover the truth. If they can expose the secret on their own, they’ll think they’ve invented it. And then comes the craving for big money, and more investigation. Especially the Daegu Herald is predictable in that regard. You hope the story blows up. Someone has to take care of Jimin. Maybe you should send a letter.
The throne room is the next obstacle. You’re glad there was no breakfast yet so you are maximum ill-tempered. A heavily bearded King thrones golden at the very end, and almost loses his crown when you enter without bowing, still in your plain dress. But he catches himself – back to the fake smile, fake words, fake posture. “Ah, this is what I call a regal sense of duty. A good early morning!” he says jovially. His own father must have slapped him into this demeanor. They’re all despicable. This is the generation where it ends. “The whole palace talks about your tryst. Everyone is impressed by the Rose Prince! Truly a man. Making such romantic gestures.” You’re angry that someone watched and couldn’t keep it to themselves. But then again, the palace harbored many guests tonight that had been equally restless and curious. The garden is public anyways, and visible through many windows. But it seems like everybody had twisted the story around and pretends you’re not even part of it. “I’m not here to talk about that. I have a request, actually.” - “Oh sure Princess, go ahead?” Namjoon falls somber now. “I’m not happy with this situation,” you furrow your brow. “Just like I expected it to be,” he huffs into his beard, “Well, we can always nullify the marriage after a certain time. But that needs a special legal procedure and at least two produced infant heirs. I advise you to wait anyways. Taehyung will become a good man for you even if you don’t like him now.” This place is truly hell. Produce an infant heir. King Namjoon has lost his mind. You fortify your stance before the throne. “I wouldn’t divorce because of Taehyung. I would divorce because of you. I’ll take him back with me to Ilsan.”
“Because of me? You wouldn’t dare. I have organized the best wedding of the last fifty years. Kim Seokjin is not ready to become the Crown Prince yet! Taehyung is the heir. You have to be his Princess. The alliance with house Choi is important for trade, too.” - “All the reasons to leave. Without heirs. Just with Taehyung. From your words, I can tell he’s not as important to you as the lineage and your reputation. Nor am I.” The King looks like he is about to combust. He can’t hurt you. Taehyung needs kids and Daegu resources. “Choi, what do you want?” he bursts out, hammering his staff on the ground. “Stop beating Taehyung. And don’t treat me as secondary. That’s all I ask for.” - “But this is protocol!” - “Then why do you keep it hidden when it’s all fine and necessary?” There it is. The King is gritting his teeth hard. Who would have known the doll bride would have this much leverage. “I’ve sent a giant horde to Park Palace. If you don’t put King Park and King Min in their place and abolish the protocol, they will. If my mother comes to know about it, Ilsan and the Northern Kingdom ban trading gold, silver, spice, and silk. Say goodbye to your dynasty and alliances.” - “You’re lying…” - “Then wait and see. It’s the truth. The crowd just left. Jung Hoseok called in sick today, didn’t he? Guess why.” - “Stop, stop the crowd! We’ll revise the protocol all you want, just stop the crowd!”
For five hundred bucks, Hoseok gets an in-depth story about the ‘Rose Princess’ garden tryst. With a lot of embellishments and inexplicable plot holes, but still immensely detailed. Two days after, even the notoriously stuck-up Gyeongsang Sentinel readers send you presents after Hoseok sold them the story for a fortune. The five hundred bucks you spend for the messenger on horseback who had raced to the neighbor province, calling back the wild mob headed to Busan. Instead of you having to write a letter, Crown Prince Jimin sends you one instead. His leg has received treatment by the kingdom’s most expensive doctor. His father begrudgingly appointed him. Jimin is delighted to marry his lover in October – the beloved childhood friend and son of Busan’s Grand Duchess, Jungkook. An adoption is already on its way. The public is nowhere near as enraged as Jimin’s father had dreaded. Jungkook is very popular for good looks and charm and already well-known as Jimin’s second half. Queen Park appears to be very excited, too, especially since lifting the protocol has impacted her beneficially.
You’ll have to live with the fact that King Namjoon cares about grandchildren more than Taehyung’s less “tough” side or, well, you. That you hope will change with time. But he busies himself with Seokjin instead of you where his prospects fall on fertile ground, and Queen Kim keeps an eye on it. At least he is happy that Jimin’s marriage does take place and has decided for the family to travel to Busan in late September. Taehyung has developed a habit of walking in the park with you often in the meantime. Also, you meet with the citizens on the farmer’s market by horse. Huge masses of people gather to see and talk to you. Namjoon had security concerns and sent fifteen high-strung guards along. But Taehyung allowed them to stroll on the market (you called it “patrol”, tongue in cheek), keeping only the four that seemed not exhausted from being constantly yelled at by the King. It was about time anybody left the dusty walls of the palace. Many had only seen you in the drawings of herald papers and heard mostly peculiar stories save the garden one. After a pleasant afternoon you buy Taehyung fresh apples and tangerines, pick up the guards and ride towards the forest. There, you spend time with Yoongi who has earned your nickname of “Prince Perfect” after some initial misunderstandings. Together you practice arching or swim in the river, and discuss wedding presents that Jimin might like. You’re very happy with Taehyung who’s always watching you with a beaming smile, and glad that he’s able to wear normal necklines again.
My, this was a great prompt as usual. Thank you historical Tae anon (I’ll just call you this way) for the request. Asks: Always welcome my sweet cubs 🐯 I love you. - Caro

Rooftop Confessions || Beverly Marsh
Tumblr media
Requested? Yes, by baby jay!!! @strang-ersclub
i'm going in for another request but write this when you're not busy or if you even want to, oof. imagine with stan or richie where him and reader are on the rooftop at night (listen to 3 am - Finding Hope) just talking about whatever, eating cheap pizza, and that's when they first realize they love each other :)
I asked personally and she said i could make this into a Bev x reader so get ready folks this is gonna be some gay shit
Bev x reader
Warnings: gay, mention of abusive parents, mentions of suicide, mentions of homophobic parents
Bev climbs the fire escape to the roof, pulling herself up and looking around for the girl who said she was gonna be there. It was 3 am and (y/n) had ordered cheap pizza from the family owned pizza shop at the corner of 1st and Main. She had decided watching the stars and thinking about nothing would be a great idea. Bev sees the girl lying on a blanket in the left most corner of the roof and makes her way over. (y/n) looks over to see the redhead walking over with a hand in her jeans.
“Hey,” Bev breathes, lowering herself to lie next to (y/n). (y/n) scoots to give the girl room, sitting up and handing her pizza. “What made you think of coming up here?” Bev asks, starting to eat the cold pizza; she hadn’t eaten dinner yet. She looks at (y/n) watching her search for words, (y/n) lies back down.
“Oh, I guess I was bored one night and my parents were at a dinner party so I couldn’t do anything with my dad. I decided to smoke so I went outside and decided to climb the fire escape so the smell wouldn’t get to little Jack up a floor and I made it here. I come out almost every night I can’t sleep, just looking at the stars,” (y/n) says, Bev moves her gaze from the girl and to the stars, Bev watches the stars in silence, thinking over things she’s been terrified to say.
“Bev?” (y/n) asks, her eyes still on the stars but playing with her fingers, Bev looks at the girl. (y/n)’s were twinkling as she stared at the constellations. “Have you ever thought you weren’t who you were? That what you were confident in something you thought about yourself but you’ve found out differently?” (y/n) asks, her words quiet as she avoids Beverly’s eyes. Beverly blinks at (y/n) confusedly.
“What do you mean?” Beverly asks, staring at her. (y/n) sighs before pushing herself up and crossing her legs. Bev sits up slowly, watching (y/n) as she overthinks. “(Y/n)?” Bev asks quietly after a few minutes of silence.
“It’s kinda like, when you think you’re one thing, and you’ve lived as if you are this one thing but you know deep down that you aren’t,” (y/n) says, looking at Beverly who stares back, think over her words. “My brother, he uh, jumped off the bridge when he went away for college because he found out he was gay. My mother was so against it she threatened to divorce my dad and take me away when my dad said he was okay with it. So my brother… jumped to save me from abuse,” (y/n) says looking down at her lap, tears shining her eyes. “I don’t wanna end up like my brother Beverly,” She mumbles looking up at the stars, swallowing nervously.
“Are you… (y/n) are you gay?” Beverly whispers, crossing her legs and facing (y/n). (Y/n) sniffs before laughing bitterly, shaking her head.
“Yea… I am,” (y/n) says, she loses her bitter smile. “I don’t know what to do,” (y/n) confesses, looking at Bev again. Bev searches the girls eyes, wondering if she should confess as well. Option one; she could confess and it would bring the two girls together. Option two; not say anything about being gay as well and have (y/n) suffer thinking she was in the closet alone.
“Well, I know you’re not alone,” Bev mutters, smiling softly at the girl. She went with option one. “(Y/n) my father is a homophobic, pervert, and I have to live with the fear of being found out and I could die. You have the fear of being found out and killed by your mother and or homophobia assholes. You are not alone,” Bev explains. (Y/n) launches tackles Beverly into a hug, them falling onto the hard concrete of the apartment building.
“Thank you,” (y/n) whispers, pushing herself up and hovering above Beverly. “I should probably get some sleep, goodbye Bev,” (y/n) smiles and rolls away from Beverly, leaving her there on her back, shocked. That was the closest they had been in a while.
Bev takes a deep breath and leans back up, looking around. (Y/n) was gone, probably climbing in her bed right then. Bev stands up and makes her way down to her apartment, relief and fear on her mind as she thinks about what they had both confessed.
“What do you think about New York?” (Y/n) asks, Bev tilts her head and leans it against the half wall to protect people from falling off the roof. They decided the school would be more fun and they had found a way to climb to the top after reasoning with the janitor.
“Hmm. Any reason for New York?” Beverly asks curiously, looking back down in her lap which had a notebook and a bucket list had been started. She writes New York, right under ‘straighten Richie Tozier’s hair’.
“My father would talk about how much he wanted to go to NYU for photography but my mom wouldn’t let him. I have the same interests as him anyways and a love for the arts,” (y/n) explains, “I think I want to go for his benefit and honor,” She finishes, toying with her necklace. Bev stares at (y/n) with a small smile before looking back down at the paper and writing ‘- photography and honor’ right next to New York.
“Hey Bev?” (Y/n) suddenly asks, Bev looks up at her to see (y/n) already watching her. “Have you ever kissed a girl?” Bev goes red and looks down. She had, Hannah June, an exchange student, they had kissed behind a tree at the quarry. Hannah had left two years ago but Beverly never actually forgot about her.
“I have, have you?” Bev asks back, looking at (y/n) with a questioning gaze. (Y/n) turns away, glancing at the stars, completely avoiding Bev’s gaze as she did a couple nights prior.
“No,” (y/n) says just above a whisper. “I haven’t even kissed a person let alone another girl,” (y/n) shakes her head and picks at her jacket. Bev looks forward, thinking over her moves.
“Do you want to try?” Bev asks quietly. (Y/n) snaps her head towards Beverly, shock on her face.
“You-you want to kiss me?” (Y/n) asks, adjusting herself to completely face Beverly. Beverly does the same and smiles softly at the shocked girl.
“Yes,” Beverly giggles, “do you want to kiss me?” she asks. (Y/n) swallows nervously, pulling her sleeves to hide her shaking hands. She nods quickly, causing Beverly to smile.
“Okay, just relax babe, it’s not gonna hurt you,” Beverly calms (y/n) down, resting her hands on (y/n)’s.
“Yes, but I don’t know how,” (y/n) confesses silently, her words wobbling with anxiety. She didn’t want to fuck this up, she didn’t want to find out she didn’t like kissing girls when she had already planned everything with Beverly. Bev smiles and scoots closer to (y/n), kissing her cheek.
“It’ll be okay,” Bev whispers, bringing (y/n)’s face closer. Their breaths mix together as Beverly cups (y/n)’s cheek. (Y/n) closes her eyes softly and Beverly does the same before pressing their lips together. (Y/n)’s lips were soft and tasted like the grape chapstick she had put on hours before, Bev learned to absolutely love that taste. Bev’s lips were chapped but (y/n) didn’t mind when she raised her hand to Beverly’s hair.
They pull away slowly, (y/n)’s eyes still closed, not wanting to leave the moment. Bev opens her eyes and blushes at the wonder on (y/n)’s. “Can we do that again?” (Y/n) whispers, opening her eyes and gazing at Beverly. Bev smiles before pressing her lips to (y/n), pushing her to the ground playfully causing the two girls to laugh.

Unaccepted // Joeck
Word Count- 1548

A/n; This is my first time writing something that isn’t including a reader, tell me what you think and please leave feedback if you have any x
PLEASE NOTE; I DO NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM BELIEVE HELEN IS HOMOPHOBIC, THIS IS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS IMAGINE.
Requested; Yes, THIS IS NOT AN X READER. THIS IS JACK X JOE.
req; Joeck request: Jack is upset because his mum didn't accept his sexuality but he doesn't wanna tell joe so he just pretends he's ill. But Joe wakes in the middle of the night to find Jack crying on the balcony and he breaks down and tells Joe everything. Joe comforts. Lots of fluff please xxx
-
Jack couldn’t believe it. He didn’t want to believe it. His own mother.. The person who’d been there through thick and thin. She didn’t approve of him. She was disgusted by him. He had never once thought his mother of all people wouldn’t approve. Conor assured him dozens of times; “She’ll accept you no matter what, Jack, but tell her when you’re ready.” He’d say. Well, apparently, Conor was wrong.
Today, he was finally ready to tell his parents about his sexuality. He’d known for years, but had only had relations with girls, despite his thoughts telling him he felt no attraction to them whatsoever. Now, that he had his first boyfriend, and after 4 months of sneaking around with him, Jack was ready to tell his mum and dad about his sexuality. They’d been pestering him about settling down with a nice girl, and he eventually let it slip out. His dad wasn’t really surprised, as he’d suspected it for years, but didn’t say anything. He stood up and engulfed Jack into a hug, accepting him immediately. His mother, wasn’t so friendly.
“What?” His mother said, a mixture of shock and disgust laced into her words. “You’re.. You’re gay?” She spat, eyes wide. “I should’ve known. I always knew there was something wrong with you.” She muttered, looking away, unable to look at her son anymore. “What? Mum, please..” Jack stuttered, eyes watering. “Don’t, Jack. Just.. don’t. I think it’s best you leave.” She said, leaving the room.
“D-dad?” He stuttered, brokenly. “I’m sorry, Jack. Give her some time.” He said, sympathetically. “I’ll talk to her, don’t worry. She just wasn’t expecting it, is all.” His father tried to comfort him, but they both knew she wasn’t one to change her opinions so easily. Without another word, Jack left his parent’s house, jumping into his car and driving out as fast as he could without breaking the law. He couldn’t stop the tears blurring his sight, so he pulled over (when it was safe, of course), and cried. He couldn’t bring himself to stop.
He’d been sat in the car for half an hour, simply crying. He’d lost his mother’s support; she’d always been his rock, and now she was gone. He sighed, his tears stopped and he was probably dehydrated. He didn’t feel it, though, as he was focused on the aching in his heart for his mother. Biting his lip, he looked both ways, front and back, then pulled back onto the road and made his way back to his shared flat with his boyfriend.
When Jack entered the flat, he was relieved to see Joe was filming a video and wasn’t paying him much attention. He went straight to the bathroom, splashing his face with water and cleaning himself up. He put on a brave face and pretended it was alright. He didn’t want to tell Joe; it would not only break him to re-live the memory; but he didn’t think he could bare to live with the broken look on Joe’s face if he told him. No, he’d keep to himself. At least for now.
He took a deep breath and left the room. Joe had just finished wrapping up the video he was filming, and smiled as Jack walked into the room. “Hey, Jack. Weren’t you supposed to be visiting your parents today?” Joe asked, furrowing his brows in confusion. “Mum got ill, had to reschedule.” Jack said, surprised he didn’t break down. “Oh, is she alright?” Joe asked, concerned. He’d met your parents before, though, the circumstances were quite different then. He’d got along great with them, when you were just introduced as friends. Now, he didn’t want to talk about it. “Yeah, just a little bug. It’ll pass, dad said.” He told his boyfriend, lying through his teeth. He hated lying to Joe, but he couldn’t bear telling him, it was too soon.
“Oh, okay.” Joe could easily tell something was wrong with Jack. He wasn’t himself, but Joe wasn’t one to push. He was patient, and confident Jack would tell him in his own time. “Well, do you want to film a video then relax and have a stay-in night? We can get Nando’s and put on stupid movies we can make fun of and stuff?” Joe asked, hopefully. Jack tended to cut himself off when he was upset, Joe hated it, but respected his way of dealing with it. He only wished Jack would open up to him more.
“I guess.” Jack muttered, earning a frown from Joe. “We don’t have to, if you don’t want to?” Joe was getting more concerned now, Jack loved filming and nights in with Nando’s. It was their tradition, when one of them was upset they’d cuddle on the couch and laugh at stupid movies, mocking them and posting unflattering pictures of each other on their snapchat and instagram stories. “No, it’s fine. Let’s do it.” Jack said, walking past Joe to set up the camera. Joe frowned deeply, but sighed and helped Jack set up.
Throughout the filming, it was quite obvious Jack’s heart wasn’t in it. He wasn’t making the cute, sarcastic, or funny comments he usually imputed through the video. He didn’t even laugh at the countless jokes Joe made, and Joe had enough. “Alright, what’s wrong, Jack?” He asked, sternly. Jack looked surprised. “What?” “You know exactly what, Jack. You aren’t laughing, you aren’t making jokes, and you usually love filming videos; you look like you’re forced to be here. Are you okay?” He asked, in a demanding tone. He hated raising his voice and being demanding of Jack, but he only wanted to help.
“I’m just feeling a bit under the weather. Can we just watch a movie?” Jack asked, and Joe sighed. “Yeah, of course.” He said, hiding the disappointment in his voice. They set up a comedy movie that had terrible reviews, neither of them knowing the name of it, and watched as Jack cuddled into Joe’s side. They had already ordered and finished their Nando’s. Usually, they’d watch movies like this and make jokes throughout the whole movie, but Jack hadn’t said a word. Jack was completely uncomfortable. He wanted desperately to tell Joe, but didn’t know how. “I don’t feel well. I’m just going to edit.” He said, getting up and leaving abruptly.
Joe didn’t know what to do. Jack loved his privacy, not liking to burden others with it, but he was never this distant with Joe, and it was worrying him. At this point, it was quite late, and Joe was exhausted from the long week. “I’m heading to bed.” Joe said to Jack, who was sat in the office. He nodded, “G’night.” No hug, kiss, or anything. “G’night, Jack.” Joe muttered, defeated.
Two hours later, it was almost 2am. Jack had long since turned off the computer, and was now debating whether to sleep on the couch or with his lover. He felt different; his mother’s opinion meant so much to him, and it was destroying him. He walked outside onto the balcony, hoping to clear his thoughts, but ended up breaking down. He cried. It was 2am, and here he was, crying on the balcony. Joe woke up, hearing traffic. Jack must’ve left the balcony opened. He slid out of bed, sighing, but froze when he heard the sounds of not only traffic, but sobs coming from the balcony.
Joe walked out, and he was sure his heart cracked then and there. Jack was on his knees, hands on his face, sobbing into them quietly. Joe ran over, wrapping his arms around Jack. “What’s wrong, Jack? Please, please tell me.” He pleaded, he couldn’t stand seeing Jack this way. “My mum hates me.” He managed, breaking down again and spinning around, crying into Joe’s shoulder.
“Why, Jack?” Joe asked, confused. He’d known all about the close relationship between Jack and his mother; he couldn’t possibly figure out why Jack thought she hated her. “For me being gay, Joe! She hates me for being gay!” Jack sobbed, his grip on Joe tightening. Joe tensed. It was his fault. “Jack, I’m so sorry..” Joe genuinely had no idea how to deal with this; his parents were happy with his sexuality.
They sat in silence for a while, Jack simply crying into Joe’s shoulder as he rubbed a soothing hand up and down Jack’s back. Once his crying slowed down, and he only had a few tears running down his reddened cheeks, which Joe wiped away with his hands. “Let’s get you to bed, Jack. Tomorrow we’ll ring Conor and have a lazy day in; ice cream and all. I’d say let’s have it now, but I ate all the ice cream earlier and it’s almost 3 in the morning.” Jack nodded, sniffling.
Joe walked Jack to the bed with a hand on his lower back, guiding him over to the bed. Joe tucked in Jack, running around to his side and climbing in, opening his arms for Jack to cuddle into, which he gladly did. Joe stayed away, running a hand through Jack’s hair until he felt his breathing even out, and smiled a bittersweet smile. “I’m so, so sorry Jack.” Joe whispered, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Alex woke up being blinded by the morning sunlight coming from the window, he wasn’t used to open the curtains after he woke, or open them at all, but maybe…
“Jacky?”  he closed his eyes, rolled and wandered his hands around he bed, no one was there.
He sat up all of a sudden searching for Laurens on the room “Jack” without Laurens in sight Alexander worried yet he took for granted that John was still on the house.
Alex pulled out a pair of pants from a drawer and walked downstairs stopping by a sweet -and slightly burned- smell.
John had been making pancakes for Alex; he was pretty concentrated on cooking the pancakes that he didn’t hear Alex coming from the back.
“Hey, Jacky?” Alex tried to place his hands on John’s waist.
John gasped in terror and punched the place his fist guided him, unfortunately, that place was Alex’s nose.
“Fuck! Alex, what the hell?!” John screamed while rubbing his knuckles and kneeling before Alex who was laying on the kitchen’s floor.
“John” Alexander groaned as he sat, he proceeded to place his hand on under his nostrils to see if there was any blood. There wasn’t any “what the fuck, honestly”
“I have quick reflexes” John answered cupping Alex’s face with his hands and examined it “and you scared me” he pouted.
Alex blinked a few times “I’m sorry babe” he said lowering his voice and pulling John to a kiss.
John pulled out “the pancake will get burned” he giggled.
“Yeah” Alex said before giving John a peck on the lips.
John stood up to check the pancake while Alex laid in the floor for a few more seconds. He stood up and walked to where John was cooking.
“Aren’t those quite enough for us?” Alex said wrapping his arms around John’s waist.
“Well,” John flipped the pancake “technically yes” he looked back at Alex “but I had already made the batter and I didn’t want to waste it. This is the last one.”
Alex nodded “do you cook daily, John?”
“Not really, just when Henry is too busy and can’t do shit” John suddenly sounded irritated “that’s when I cook for my siblings” he cleared his throat.
Alex kept silent, not leaving John’s waist, he then remembered something “Jack, now that we’re in like, the topic-”
He was interrupted by a “huh?” From Laurens.
“Yeah, uhm, are you going to call your dad?” He left John’s waist to place the dishes on the table.
John took out the pancake from the pan and placed it on a plate “why would I?” He turned around, one plate on each hand, each plate had three pancakes “I mean, for what?” He said as he placed the plates on the table.
“I don’t know,” Alex said as he sat down to eat “maybe to tell him that you’re still here?”
“I mean, he actually knows I’m here you know” he said in an uncaring tone.
“Okay,” Alex began to pour maple syrup on his pancakes “but if you don’t, he will”
John clenched his jaw and arched his eyebrow “I may call him, but later” he took the maple syrup from Alex and both began to eat.
Alexander had already finished when John was halfway through the second, he was appreciating John, his boyfriend, he had never felt like this with anyone, not with Eliza nor Thomas, he had felt similar but not the same.
“Alex” John swallowed his pancake.
Alex sat upright, pretending he hadn’t been looking at John for the past few minutes “Yes?”
“Why did you invite me yesterday?” John asked.
Alex widened his eyes and babbled, unable to form words.
“I mean,” John interrupted before Alex could even talk “it’s not that I’m not comfortable or anything, I love being here with you, I just want to know why only me and not the others too”
“Well,” Alex sighed “first it was because I don’t like being alone,” he explained as he looked down to his lap “because the moments I’ve been alone have been-” his voice cracked as images from the past flew on his mind “the worsts of my life” Alex tried to hold back the tears.
“Alex, sorry, I didn’t mean to-”
“It’s okay” he looked back up to Laurens “those memories are in the past” his eyes were full of tears.
“Wanna talk about it?” John offered.
Alex shook his head but broke into tears. Laurens stood up and helped Alex to the couch on the living room.
They sat there for some seconds, Alex holding tight on Laurens and crying on his shoulder. Alex tried to calm down to be able to speak “I remember-”  he hiccuped “my dad leaving” he cleaned his eyes with the back of his hand “I remember it perfectly, John” he raised the volume of his voice.
John couldn’t do anything, he didn’t know what to do, he just listened. He had heard some rumors about Alex’s past on Nevis, he had never paid attention to them though, but he was about to finally know the truth.
“I remember my mom and dad screaming to each other, I was alone in my room hearing and I decided to go out and-” Hamilton paused “-then, the front door slammed shut, my mom fell to her knees and cried, I went back to my room and-” he paused “I never saw him again” his voice was lower.
“Alex I-I didn’t know-”
“And my mom,” Alex wrapped his arms around himself “when I was twelve sh-she died” the tears had gotten back “we had a fever between other things, I honestly thought it would be the end for both of us. She was holding me and suddenly-” he couldn’t handle it anymore “she was gone and I was alone”
John held Alex, tears forming on the corner of his own eyes “Alex, I’m sorry” he truly didn’t know what to do.
“And the second reason” Alex said against John’s chest “was because I wanted to tell you that I liked you in a special way” he let out a small laugh.
“How did you plan it?” John asked, still holding Alex.
“I actually thought something would occur to me throughout the day” Alex pulled out, drying his tears with his hands “but I couldn’t form anything”
“And here we are” John took Alex’s hand and interlaced his fingers with Hamilton’s “right?”
“Yes,” Alex rested his head on John’s shoulder “my boyfriend”
They stayed that way for a while in comfortable silence.
“Alex, I’m afraid”
“Of what?” Alex crossed his legs in a meditation pose on top of the couch causing distance between them.
“Of my father” John said turning to face him “how am I going to go back there and tell him ‘oh hey dad I was with Alex, who is my boyfriend now’ and not get kicked out?” He explained “Who will look after my siblings if I get kicked out?”
“I don’t know, but I’ll be with you” he placed his hand on John’s thigh “On Monday, after school, I’ll go to your place and we’ll tell him” Alex gave John a reassuring smile “is that okay?”
“Yeah, I would like that” John leaned forward and rested his forehead with Alexander’s.
They were about to kiss when a phone rang.
Alex glanced at the T.V in front of them, next to it there was a wire phone “it must be George or Martha, prolly to check on me” he got up from the couch “it’ll only take a minute”
John watched as his boyfriend checked the number that was calling on a little screen on the phone and frowned.
Alexander answered the phone and before he could even say ‘hello’ a male voice started screaming “Woah! Man, calm down” Alex said through the phone.
“Who are-” the voice seemed to have interrupted again “Oh”.
John kept watching with curiosity.
“No, he’s not exactly here-” Alex said “he’s, uhm, taking a shower” Alex regretted giving such an unconvincing argument “It’s your dad” he whispered covering the speaker of the phone.
“Shit” John muttered.
“No, I swear! He’s taking a-” Alex frowned again, making a confused expression “no we’re not- what does that even mean?!” Alex was really confused about the words Henry was using “look sir, when he gets out I’ll ask him to call you, bye” and with that said he hanged the phone.
“What was that all about?” John giggled.
“He asked me if we were sinning, John, he fucking asked me that!” Alex said loudly but also laughing.
“Yeah, he tends to say none senses like those”
“I think you should really call him” Alex went back to the couch with Laurens.
“I’m taking a shower, I can't” John said teasingly.
Alex laughed out loud “yeah, but I don’t want him to call George”
“Okay, I’ll call him, but first-” He simply kissed Alex “I’m going outside, I don’t want you to hear”
“Okay” Alex answered simply, laying down on the couch.
John headed upstairs to Alex’s room, where his phone was. Once he was downstairs again Alex was looking at two slim boxes that appeared to be movies.
“I’ll be right back, ‘lex” John said opening the front door.
“Yeah, I’ll watch a movie if you don’t mind”
“Sure, I’ll catch up later, babe” John went outside and called his father.
“Answer, answer-” John murmured as he waited for his father to answer “answer, ans-”
“Jonathan Laurens” His father said in a serious tone “what the hell have you been doing”
“Just hanging with Alex” John tried to act innocent, like if that had ever helped with persuading his dad “we haven’t done anything that you call ‘wrong’”
“I bet you’re lying to me” Henry responded “I bet that you weren’t ‘in the shower’, I don’t even want to know what you have been doing”
“We haven’t done anything wrong, I ALREADY TOLD YOU” John was losing his patience and the call had just started, he hadn’t done anything wrong though, he was just loving the man he loved.
“Don’t raise your tone to me, young boy” he cleared his throat “I had to take the day off just to take care of your siblings”
John laughed “is that a bad thing?! You’re finally bonding with your children!” John was trying to not scream too much, but the rage didn’t allow him “after my mother died I’ve been the one looking after them, you rarely spent time with us!”
“Don’t change the topic!” Henry screamed, anger more than obvious.
The argument kept on and on, points and actions being discussed when suddenly John thought he could put an end to it.
“Okay-” John hesitated but finally made the decision “you want me to spit out the truth? I’ll do it” he took a deep breath “I’m Alex’s boyfriend, since yesterday”
“Jonathan, that’s not sain!”
“Why not? I’m in love and he’s in love”
“John, it’s not natural” Henry punctuated each word.
“But he loves me and I-”
“I want you home right now or you will never again enter my house!” Henry was screaming and in the background it sounded like Martha, John’s little sister, asking what was going on, before John was able to say anything Henry hanged the phone.
“God damn it!” He sat on the steps in front of the house, crying desperately, sobbing and cursing, he felt despair ness and hatred flowing through his veins, he just didn’t know what to do.
John felt like everything was tearing apart, he was barely managing to calm himself down, and crying in the street wasn’t something he wanted to keep doing right now, so he weakly walked back to the Washington’s house and pressed the doorbell. He thought Alex had no clue for what he was about to open the door to, and he felt bad for it.
