Okay, y'all have got to start paying attention to Sam Wilson!!

This show is not about Sam being a support character to whatever Bucky is going through. Sam has his own story, his own struggles and his own trauma to deal with.

Sam is getting shit all over for handing out the shield. He did what he thought was right! As Steve would have done. He didn't feel ready, he didn't think he was fit for the job, whatever it was, he chose to do what felt right to him. Then he had to witness the Shield being passed to some random strong soldier. Imagine how he feels when he actually meets John Walker and realizes how he's not the guy to become the new Captain America. But he doesn't get a say, he's not part of the "choose the new Cap" committee and he's witnessing something that definitely feels wrong to him for soooo many reasons.

Moreover, he's struggling to adjust to the 5-year time jump too! He has Sarah and his nephews back, everything has changed and he's trying to hold on to his family's legacy by keeping the fishing boat.

And the elephant in the room. Sam is black. He might be an Avenger but he's still black. The show goes on to point out the struggles of a black man in racist society. He goes to the bank for a loan with his sister, having all the documents and papers required, he gets treated with suspicion and all "yeahh... I can't help you". Even after he's identified himself as the Falcon, an actual avenger, he's still turned down. Tbh, the showrunners could have done more than that. We live in the times where Black Folks are fighting for their lives, they're getting killed, they're being denied their rights! I'm sure you could have done better at pointing and addressing at the obvious.

And then there's police brutality. Cops in a presumably black neighborhood see black and white guys quarrelling and instead of intervening for both sides, they presume the white guy is in danger, so yeah!! Let's check in on him, he can end up getting hurt, BEWARE OF ANGRY DANGEROUS BLACK GUY, ROUGH HIM UP ONCE IT IS TIME. What the absolute fuck man! I was angry!!! And nobody is talking about it! You should be talking about it, you should scream at the top of your lungs! But instead, you're choosing to obsess over sambucky having their thighs touch in therapy. I get it. But, no I do not.

Do not get me started on Isaiah Bradley. Sam is so rightfully angry at not being told that there was a black super soldier, a hero who handed the winter soldier his ass, was not only erased from history but also imprisoned and turned into a lab rat.

Sam is a really important character. His development is really important, his struggles are valid. He has trauma to deal with too. He should be getting 2 times the attention Bucky gets. We're living in a time where Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate are happening. There's a show addressing the struggles of Black people (even if in my opinion they can do better) and you're literally pushing it under the rug.

UNACCEPTABLE!
