So a while back I created a noodle restaurant/bar in Fallout 4 that was inspired by the Wall Market in Final Fantasy 7, I wanted it to look run down just like the slums in ff7. My goal was to make the whole settlement in this style but just never finished!

Ended up replaying Wall Market 3 times--twice to beat Hell House on Hard (had to reset the chapter to refill MP before the Colosseum), then again because I didn't go back into the Colosseum immediately to get the missing Aerith challenges I needed to unlock the final Combat Simulator challenge. I wanted to do Chocobo Sam's side quests anyhow, since I did Madam M's the first time--anyhow, I ended up watching the cut scenes a bunch of times. 1st, I love Madam M. Tried all the massage options while I was at it. I'm a sucker for the yakuza aneki type, she's hot af, she's angry, she's a domme with a sadistic streak, she can cuss a blue streak when she's pissed. <3 Also kind of intrigued by the past dalliance with Chocobo Sam, who's clearly still at least a little hung up on her (how could he not be?). 2nd, Leslie. Why are you making the side characters so hot. The face, the hair, the voice. I couldn't skip his scenes--he's too pretty. Stop it. It might be hard shipping him because of that plot thing, but come onnnn.

There ain't nobody in Midgar who can speak quite as many languages as the working guys/gals/enby pals of Wall Market.

I was thinking about whether or not Shinra Co, under Rufus' dad, would have actually paid someone to communicate with the locals of the areas they colonized, and decided....no. No, they would not. Bc unless it was about the Cetra, Shinra Sr. would not spend money on shit he didn't see as immediately profitable.

Also, like he actually gave a shit about those people. Look at everything that happened in those areas they turned into reactor towns. His disregard is obv af.

...I mean? Maybe there are a few multilingual Shinra employees, but they're gonna be people from that family background, or people like Reeve (or the TURKS), who recognize the usefulness of it.

BUT ALSO. Considering the general level of competency from the executive board? Even if some claimed a degree of fluency in a 2nd language? Trusting them to get a translation correct even half the time would be like trusting Google Translate of the early aughts. You just...don't.

So, then. Back to my point.

Who WOULD find being a polyglot profitable?

Honeybees/Honey Boys & Madam M's masseuses.

These are people, in a densely populated metropolis...a city, in fact, that is seen as The Place To Go (think: NY or LA, or London, or Tokyo, etc).

They are, if not actually escorts, then broadly in the sex industry.

Given that, you never know who is gonna pass through your door, gil in hand, ready to spend lots of money. On you, specifically. It would be bad fuhkin business to not make every assurance that you could accommodate your potential customers.

So yeah. Wall Market set has gotchu covered, whether you want a dance, a massage w a happy ending, or a letter sent to that one elder aunty who never quite got the hang of reading/speaking Common.

Did they take the Group Room out of the Honey Bee Inn at the Wall Market?? Kept going back and forth trying to select it and nothing popped up! Had to use the Fuck Room and go through the nervous breakdown, which I guess is more plot relevant, but maybe I want to roleplay bottoming in a gay bathhouse orgy!
