What a series of questions! ;)

Safrona through the past 10 years has changed gradually, most by choice, some through augments and enchantments that most were never fully aware of - she was and is and will always be a creature of secrets. What has always been something she has grown toward through the years is a self-acceptance of the skin she is in, and becoming more comfortable or unafraid to let who she is simply be. That has always been her struggle, and she has definitely went through her phases of attempting to cover her truth. To be fully honest, the red-garbed Sin'dorei Courier that most know Safrona by is probably the biggest lie of an appearance - the fullest play of her masking.

And I think in my idea of her design and the gradual shift to void elf ties in to her character very deeply. As a Warlock, Safrona has always leaned toward the void side of things in practice, and as many taboos as she walked on she had felt it necessary to mask her self in many different ways. When the void elf was released as a race for World of Warcraft, it finally felt like a natural shift for her in appearance. So the full acceptance of who she is as a character has been realized, even as she let go of of other aspects of her facades. Fully existing as a void elf with no need of a cloak or hood? I think Safrona now is the most content and comfortable in her skin she has ever been. I try to show that now more than ever in my art of her.

Change and evolution has always been a theme for Safrona, as well as the necessary learning to accept what life for her has become. The years before she was a fleshed out elf in my mind are even more indicative of change in some drastic ways. But those secrets are ones Safrona is less forthcoming about; she is much more a woman of the present, than the past.
