Cold and Dampness: Cold weather can lead to increased joint pain and stiffness, especially when combined with damp conditions. The drop in temperature may cause synovial fluid in joints to thicken, making movement more challenging.
Changes in Atmospheric Pressure: Fluctuations in barometric pressure during winter can affect the pressure inside joints, potentially leading to increased arthritis pain and discomfort.
Reduced Physical Activity: Colder weather often discourages outdoor activities and exercise, contributing to joint stiffness and weakened muscles, making arthritis symptoms more noticeable.
Seasonal Changes in Diet: Changes in dietary habits during winter, such as consuming more inflammatory substances, could potentially worsen arthritis symptoms. A balanced and anti-inflammatory diet is crucial.
Vitamin D Deficiency: Reduced sunlight exposure in winter may lead to lower levels of vitamin D, essential for bone health and immune function. Some studies suggest a link between low vitamin D levels and increased arthritis symptoms.

Meet my doctor! Dr. William Gibbs! @wgibbsmd spotted my severe vitamin D deficiency and saved my life. With me spending day after day in studios and on airplanes, I was suffering from lack of sunlight. Dr. Gibbs diagnosed what my regular general practitioner overlooked for years! I was severely deficient. When you are deficient in vitamin D and a person of color, it is important to get your blood checked throughly. I went to Dr. Gibbs for a second opinion. My regular GP said that everything was fine, but I still didn’t feel good. Dr. Gibbs assessed me and discovered that I was suffering from Low D levels days after my regular GP diagnosed me as being in perfect health. I was misdiagnoses for years. For those who are not aware, vitamin D is actually a hormone that regulates all of your hormones throughout your body. When those levels are low one can decline fast. He also discovered that my thyroid and testosterone levels were affected as well and quickly prescribed a regimen that slowly built up my thyroid function and every other important hormone in my body back to normal levels. I immediately lost 16 lbs and I am now I not only looking good, I feel good! Thank you Dr. Will Gibbs at Grand Central Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center for sharing your brilliance with me. 🕺🏾We need more doctors like you! #weneedmoreblackdoctors #drwilliamgibbs #vitaminddeficiency #grandcentralphysicalmedicineandrehabilitationcenter (at Grand Central Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cee-y_QssKq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
