With over 250 stunningly iconic images and personal reflections from Abloh’s inner circle, including Nigo, Naomi Campbell, Luka Sabbat, Kendall Jenner and Kid Cudi, the book is the definitive chronicle of a partnership that redefined not only dress codes but their very vocabulary. Made in Italy, the Classics collection editions are available in two different silk hardcovers. One cover features a cartoon artwork from Virgil’s spring-summer 2021 show by cultural icon and artist Reggieknow, and the other cover is taken from Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton’s spring-summer 2022 spinoff show in Miami. Please note that the interior content is the same for the Classics and Ultimate editions.

LOUIS PHARRELL?!
LOUIS PHARRELL?!
I. REGIME CHANGE!
Rumor has it that Pharrell is set to become the new Menswear Designer of Louis Vuitton, following a successful run by the late Virgil Abloh.
Recently, KidSuper, the unorthodox Brooklyn creative, guest designed for Louis Vuitton during Paris Fashion Week this year.
I personally enjoyed his designs very much and thought he would be a perfect candidate to take over the mantel.
Others in strong consideration included, Grace Wales Bonner and Martine Rose.
Martine Rose, was amongst the crowd favorite to take over at Louis Vuitton.
Martine Rose, founder of her namesake label, which was established in 2007. Her menswear label found its footing in the late 2010s and have since collaborated with brands, such as Nike and Tommy Jeans.
As a designer by trade, Martine Rose, held the education credentials and the popularity, that would make her a front runner to take over as the menswear designer for Louis Vuitton.
So why Pharrell over everyone.
II.WHY PHARRELL OVER EVERYONE?
Pharrell, legendary producer and musician, has strong footprints in fashion. He his undoubtedly an influencer, even his sole existence helped Tyler The Creator find his footing, and he actually demonstrated success in fashion with Billionaire Boys Club/IceCream - co-founded with Japanese mogul NIGO®,  CHANELPHARRELL - limited partnership w/ Chanel during Karl Lagerfeld’s run, and his ongoing Adidas Human Race partnership to say the least.
But we have to address the elephant in the room..
Why Pharrell over “actual” designers? Is he actually ready to head a fashion house on his own? Will he rely too much on assistance from NIGO?
These are the questions that makes people doubt P’s capability to produce high quality collections, season after season.
Pharrell is no stranger to working with Louis Vuitton as he worked with the brand previously when Marc Jacobs held the reigns at the brand.
However it seems Louis Vuitton may be relying too heavy on star power and polarization than actual designing.
As much as we love Pharrell, I don’t think anyone actually saw this coming. I for one thought KidSuper had it in a bag. His designs felt like a direct sequel to the Virgil regime, keeping the similar aesthetics while still incorporating his distinct design features.
But if I learned anything, it’s don’t knock someone before they even get the chance to showcase their capabilities.
Where Pharrell lacks technically, I’m sure his passion and resourcefulness will overcome his weaknesses and allow him to produce collections true to him and profitable for the brand.
He would have to produce extremely horrible collections for this to be a failure because the power of LV’s heritage + P’s personal brand, whatever is made will be purchased regardless but whatever is made will be purchased regardless.
However, him and Louis Vuitton has to be ready for the automatic backlash/pre-conceived criticism that is sure to come to this partnership.
III. EMBRACING THE CHANGE
As much as we revere Virgil, his run at LV wasn’t met with rainbows and sunshine all the time either, the internet surely gave their (uncalled for) opinions and called him out multiple times,
Including when people were upset that the LV sneakers were nothing but AVIA sneakers with LV branding.
So, if this rumor holds true P definitely has an uphill battle against him but as one of our heroes in the culture,
We should root for his success no matter what and give him a chance first before launching the rocks of criticism at his face.

Founded in 1994 in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, Supreme made its mark becoming the most well-known streetwear brands ever. Stüssy
Stüssy is another influential classic brand that inspired many streetwear designers and brands over the course of decades. The Stüssy brand originated from the Southern California surf scene and skate culture. Shawn Stussy was a surfboard shaper at the time who was able to bring over his own personal style and individualism to the fashion scene which made his brand stand out. Stussy began his small graphic tee brand in the 80’s by having his signature logo screen printed on tees, crewnecks, and hoodies. Soon enough it ended up gaining immense popularity transferring into a wide range of streetwear the brand offers. The brand continues to thrive as Stussy is a driving force in the streetwear couture. As well by giving forward thinking designs while staying true to its California roots.
Here we have a fun pop of color to add for a streetwear look! A perfect casual fit yet stylish. This is from the latest Stüssy Spring '23 Collection.

A Bathing Ape (Bape)
Bape was founded by Nigo also known as Tomoaki Nagao in Japan in 1993 at the beginning of the streetwear movement. According to Nigo the company’s name is a reference to the Japanese idiom “A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water” used to portray overindulgent behavior which entirely captures the whole essence of the brand. Over the history of Bape it has remained a continuous trailblazer in the fashion industry. Bape’s strategy of hype and scarcity made their brand into one of the most desired streetwear brands who even got their name into the American hip-hop scene. As for designs Bape is known for their bold graphics, eccentric colors, stylized camouflage patterns, and a subdued touch of the Japanese kawaii culture.
Here we have one of the most popular collection pieces which is the Bape shark hoodie. The hoodie is light and breathable made from high quality cotton that features bright prints.

Off-White
Off-White is one of the main forces behind the fusion of streetwear and high fashion. Off-White is Milian based founded by Virgil Abloh in 2012. The logo he described as “the gray area between black and white as the color “off-white” to the fashion world. The logo has attracted an international fan-base with its signature black and white diagonal stripes printed on each of the brand’s pieces. Virgil’s integration of culture and couture has created a streetwear name known for innovative designs and forward thinking, ironic tags, distinctive prints, and high-profile collaborations. Such as Timberland, Levi, Nike, Converse, and Jordan. RIP Virgil Abloh
Here we have Off-White X Levi's 2016 fall/winter denim collection. This collaboration was a hit that showcased key pieces. Such as the image below of a frayed denim jacket featuring a bold yellow accent.

HUF
HUF is another brand that has been influential in the streetwear scene. Huf got started in the early 90’s and originally the nickname of Keith Hufnagel who was a loyal skateboarder in the streets of New York in the 80’s. He merged his passion for skateboarding and streetwear perfectly in a way that made his brand a hotspot for everything skateboards. It is known for its clean aesthetic, provocative designs, limited runs of products, and quality craftsmanship. They're a brand that has the spirit of skateboarding and street culture. Over the years, HUF has been committed to pushing the culture forward and not allowing it to conform to it.
Here we have one of HUF women's fall collection inspired by the '90s. Featuring earth-tones, patterns, and cozy materials. Capturing a great take on a relax comfy streetwear look!
