It's Samhain in three weeks. It is the most known of all the Celtic festivals. Not only because it is mostly celebrated as Halloween but also because it is the witch's new year. In case you didn't know about it, I have some brief information on what Samhain is and what you can do to celebrate.

If you ate the favorite dish of a deceased loved one, what would that be?

Mine would be "Schlachtplatte," a traditional German dish that can be roughly translated to "slaughter plate". It's a hearty, meat-heavy meal that typically consists of a variety of pork products and sausages, along with side dishes such as sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and sometimes mustard.

Hoje é dia da “Runa do dia”. Todas as terças feiras, durante 25 dias, vou postar uma runa e seu significado. Hoje vou começar explicando o que são as runas e sua origem. Na semana que vem, vou explicar as formas de jogar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As runas Vikings são um alfabeto mágico utilizado pelos antigos povos da Europa, especificamente os nórdicos, para fins mágicos, incluindo adivinhações e previsões. O nome runa vem do antigo norueguês "run", que significa mistério ou segredo. Este "run" teria vindo do antigo alemão "runa", que significa "aquele que sussurra", que também veio do radical indo-europeu "ru", que quer dizer "coisa misteriosa e secreta". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As runas eram uma escrita alfabética simples que podia ser adaptada para vários usos: comemorativos, jurídicos e práticos. A magia foi uma aplicação que os Vikings lhe deram. Os caracteres rúnicos também eram especificamente uma escrita nórdica. Na Escandinávia se desenvolveram sinais característicos, muito simplificados. A escrita rúnica consiste mais em linhas retas que em linhas curvas, e geralmente se pensa que foi desenvolvida para gravar em madeira. Rapidamente as runas foram usadas em ossos, metais e pedras. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No inicio da era Viking, o alfabeto continha apenas 16 letras, mas elas não bastavam para representar todos os sons das línguas nórdicas. Por esses motivos, o alfabeto rúnico modificou-se, totalizando as 24 letras conhecidas hoje. Custom “boar tusk” blade done!! This one has the customers name in runes along the blade instead of boar tusk like we normally do for these.
