Six of crows is perfect for many reasons but one of them is because it's Victorian. I cannot express my love for that period, it's so fascinating to me, and adding fantasy to it? ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

Whats with these Victorian period Mc and us not knowing their true name? Robin Swift? We wouldn't be able to pronounce it. Ciel Phantomhive? Huh, that's his older brother name (all we know is that maybe our!Ciel's name means star in translation). William Moriarty? Apparently, only Sherlock and Louis know his true name (according to manga that is)
I see the pattern here

Abstracting all of the colonialism, and sexism, and racism, and conservative gender roles, and massive capitalist inequality, I've always been weirdly drawn to Victorian England. Upon analysis, I think that about 90% of this is because I think that steam locomotives are cool, and the other 10% is because I like Sherlock Holmes.
