Rewound Dream Chapter 1 Time to go back. pt 1
‘tick tock tick tock.' Went the clocks that hung on long fabrics, with the ticking of the clocks more fabric was made, this land was the time verse, this was Shifters home. "Tick, tock, tick tock~" A voice rang somewhat above the ticking of clocks. "Looks like outertale is doing well." The skeleton said as they touched the clock as it ticked away. "As expected..." They said as their smile slowly turned into a frown. "It's always the same.... " They said as they walked away from outertale and looked at the other clocks and watched them tick away. humming a bit they walked to a clock that was hanging from a pink cloth, with a smirk the skeleton reached out and stopped the hour hand of the clock making undernovela pause at a pivotal moment in the whole show. "OH COME O-O-ON!!!" The skeleton snickers when Error's scream reaches them. "Always love that sound~" they said as they let the hour hand go to continue the show. "As entertaining as that is...'' they walked away from the clock. "I want something different..." They said as they walked over to two glowing clocks, one teal like the night sky and one bright like the sun, the cloth that came from them were always twisting around one another. with a wave of their hand the cloths from the clocks whipped out to the skeleton and went taught as if it was on a loom and scenes started to show things currently happening. Dream and Nightmare were currently fighting like they always have and always will. The skeleton watched as Ink tossed Blue towards Killer who just laughed as he threw a knife at Blue who easily blocked it, only to be tackled by Horror as he rode on one of Dust's blasters. "Brother! Once again I implore you to stop this!" Dream begged as he used his bow to protect himself from two of Nightmare's tentacles only to get struck by the other two making him yell out in pain as the two tentacles wrapped around his neck and body and lifted him off of the ground. "When will you realize I will never stop! I will delve into the dark embrace of negativity!" He yelled as he started to slam dream into the ground only to drop dream to quickly get out of the way as Ink swung broomie making sharpened bones of ink shootout at him. "Ha! You really think we will let you do that!!" Blue yelled as he Blocked Horror's bone ax from crashing down on him. The skeleton that watched them soon had a wide smile spread across their skull as they snapped their fingers, the two clocks stopped completely.
on the battlefield the two groups stopped when their leaders stopped moving completely. Blue ran to dream and grabbed their arm and gave it a bit of a shake, well tried to, Dream was as solid as stone and didn't move an inch. Killer ran to Nightmare and started to wave his hand in front of his face as Dust and Horror tried to get Nightmare's attention.
"Oh no matter what you do you won't be able to wake them from their suspended state!" A voice called out to them, making the five quickly turn to the voice. "Ink.... I didn't know you had a brother..." Blue said as he took a step back. "I... I don't." Ink said as he held up his brush in defense. The skeleton just laughed as a grin spread across his skull. "Oh I am not a brother to you ink, I am a variant of you!" They said proudly as they spread their arms out wide before bending forward into an elegant bow. "My name is Shifter, Or shift if you so wish to call me." pt 2

care to elaborate on the miles venom arc?
YES okay so. the thing abt the symbiote is that (like any good corruption arc) it feeds on and amplifies the worst traits of a character, which is pretty straightforward in peters case - his biggest issue is his anger, usually manifesting via retribution (eg. "i missed the part where thats my problem", hunting down uncle bens killer), so his origin story is always the great power/great responsibility thing so he learns to temper that rage. what the symbiote does, practically, is force him to unlearn that foundational character arc and regress to his worst self
since the symbiote really really loves aggression peter parker is literally its dream guy but miles is a little more complex. hes definitely susceptible to that same anger (eg. wanting to "make kingpin pay", the entire sm2 martin li arc) but not as often and nowhere near as hardcore, so the peter playbook wont work as well for him (and also it would be fucking boring. weve seen that shit like 8 times already (not saying symbiote peter is boring i just think modern iterations need to explore new aspects to avoid treading the same ground constantly (sm2 does this very fucking well (also yuri lowenthal is a great va for peter like right up there with josh keaton (i think this many parentheses means im off topic (the adhd demon got me))))))
SO. whats miles' major issue he needs to overcome in his origin story? full disclosure i have not read the comics (but i heard they had some issues with his initial characterization anyway? which is fair enough tbh writing the successor to such an iconic guy is Fucking Hard) so TO ME PERSONALLY!! spider-verse miles is the definitive iteration of the guy and like. we all remember the whats up danger scene, his origin arc is overcoming self-doubt and learning to believe in himself ("its a leap of faith", "youre on your way, just keep going") which, alongside social anxiety (eg. the itsv "everyone knows" scene, sm2 "are you mad at me? it sounds like youre mad at me" dialog), seems to be part of some general anxiety issues. this is pretty well supported by the recent "the spider within" short film (which funnily enough is very fucking reminiscent of some sequences in kravens last hunt, not relevant but kinda cool) which also shows how miles responds by self-isolating, similarly to ps5 miles when peter ignores him
the symbiote can exploit his self-doubt pretty easily, the inherent power boost will do most of the heavy lifting to make him feel like hes not good enough without it - what if he runs out of web at the worst moment? what if hes not strong or fast enough to save someone? what if hes caught mid-costume change because hes so used to the suit changing itself? the more valid the (inital) concerns the better imo
the social anxiety is a tricky one but i think if miles traps himself in a doom loop of self-isolation he might spiral into genuine paranoia, which combined w/ the patented symbiote rage could lead him to lash out at people around him. "everyone secretly hates me so im gonna avoid being around people" -> "i feel alienated from everyone i know so im gonna avoid them even harder" -> "am i 'okay'? why would you care? what are you playing at? fuck off and leave me alone" -> "nobody wants to interact w/ me so everyone who does must have ulterior motives and is therefore a threat to me/my family/my city" -> "im completely isolated but bad things are still happening so people must be conspiring against me w/o my knowledge" -> "literally everyone on earth is out to get me and i need to fight them about it"
from there i think the ideal conclusion is pretty self-evident - miles takes a metaphorical leap of faith (calling back to the lesson learned in his origin arc) by actively choosing to trust someone, reach out and ask for help w/ removing the symbiote and dealing with the contemporary big bad (potentially his local peter variant bc hes got experience w/ symbiote removal and it would tie into the "leap of faith" motif but idk)
so tldr: a miles symbiote arc would be different to peters arcs in some (very interesting) key ways - rather than unbridled aggression he could be characterized by intense anxiety, manifesting as paranoid self-isolation and a sense of dependence on the symbiote suit, and would end the arc by reaching out for help in a symbolic leap of faith

Hello!!! You need to chat, I hear? If one might ask about your DC character designs- where did you find the inspiration for your moth and scarecrow designs? Which iterations of them?
YES I LOVE BEING ASKED ABOUT CHARACTER DESIGN STUFF!!!
So Killer Moth, my design for him has evolved over time for sure, particularly his suit when he’s still human.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The basic idea was there, but it wasn’t really polished yet and didn’t have much of an inspiration for it outside of his canon appearances.
I don’t remember HOW it hit me, but at some point it started coming to me that I could use tokusatsu heroes as inspiration, particularly Kamen Rider! Particularly the original, Zero-One, and then V3 for his belt. ☺️ It works out too because I do think he’d be a tokusatsu and kaiju fan haha.
I’m sure it’ll evolve more from here, I’m still not 100% satisfied with certain parts, but it’s gotten to a point I’m very happy with it. (:
His post-mothening design is pretty heavily based on his Teen Titans cartoon design!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First colored art of him + more recent ref + even more recent ref of his face design!! I still wanted him to wear a variant of his human costume but I also might design another costume for him like this… also detail I love to mention, his “eyebrows” are ocelli. (:
I also took a LOT of inspo from the Luminoths from Metroid Prime 2, and I’d been referencing them in order to draw him since I started mapping out my design for him. 😭 He’s also mainly based on Saturniid moths, but I especially looked at Luna Moths, Polyphemus Moths, and Comet Moths!!
Side note, but whenever I finally start doing more color outfits for Kitten, I’m planning on using the Rosy Maple Moth as the color inspo!! >:3c
That’s all I can think to say in regards to his design right now…
As for Scarecrow, I really can’t take much credit there!! He’s based on my friend @amphibiousdestroyer’s design, since we write our DC verse together. :3 The way I’ve been drawing him currently is heavily influenced by his Scarecrow but also BTAS in certain respects since he hasn’t drawn a color reference yet! And when I draw him without his mask on, it’s pretty straight up his design for Jonathan haha.
I love his designs for him so far SO fucking much though and need to draw more of him. I leave out his big coat too much but it’s so important to me.

Top Ten Best Superhero movies? Top Ten Least Favorite Superhero movies? Why?
I’m gonna enjoy answering this one.
Sorry to disappoint, but I didn’t think ten movies would suffice for my best list, so here’s a top 15.
15 Favorite:
15: Batman Returns: Creepy and gothic, but darkly funny with a surprising amount of pathos and THREE great villains played by amazing actors.
14: X-Men: First Class: A showcase of the X-Men film series’ strengths while also shaking up the usual portrayals of its universe, as a fun and exciting origin story for Xavier and Magneto as they’re tasked with taking down the most depraved villain in the franchise
13: Spider-Man: No Way Home: The culmination of ALL of Spider-Man’s previous cinematic appearances, bringing everything great about each incarnation all together in one place
12: Deadpool: A hilarious and meta tribute to the superhero genre with the best portrayal of Deadpool in anything ever
11: Batman Begins: A unique reinvention of Batman’s mythos, infusing a grim-and-gritty tone typical of the 2000s with classic action and noir aesthetics
10: Thor: Ragnarok: A fun and zany 80s-style adventure that shows off Thor’s best strengths as a character in ways previous films couldn’t; beautiful visuals, great music, cool villains… what’s not to love?
09: SHAZAM: A quirky, funny flick with a relatable hero, a lot of heart, strong familial themes, and fun action scenes with an awesome villain
08: Iron Man: The movie that put Marvel on the map by reinventing a controversial hero and redefining what superhero movies could do, proving they could be taken seriously and STILL be fun and colorful
07: Wonder Woman: A deeply touching and emotional film with a sympathetic hero and a strong message about the nature of war and peace.
06: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: Many didn’t expect this film to be a success due to the tough act its predecessor’s deceased star set to follow, it proved to be an endearing, gripping, heartwarming flick with both a hero and villain who are both very sympathetic
05: Zack Snyder’s Justice League: The long-awaited realization of one man’s artistic vision: full to the brim with strong pathos, but not afraid to be lighthearted at times
04: The Suicide Squad: has all the heart, fun action, great music, and likable characters of a modern superhero movie with all the gore, vulgarity, and dark humor of a classic B-movie
03: Guardians of the Galaxy: A quirky, off-beat flick with a killer soundtrack and a surprisingly heartwarming family dynamic; is not afraid to be silly or weird, which only makes it stronger
02: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: a charming, fun movie that deeply examines the mythos of a beloved character while shining a spotlight on his many variants and successors
01: Avengers: Infinity War/Avengers Endgame: The culmination of ten years of buildup throughout the cinematic universe, this movie brings iconic heroes together and shows off the best in all of them with a gripping story packed with heartrending pathos
(Honorable Mentions: Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Aquaman, Blade, Hellboy, Darkman, Captain America: Civil War, Birds of Prey, The Batman 2022)
Also, I honestly couldn’t think of ten superhero movies bad enough to be considered “the worst”, so I’ll give you five.
05: Iron Man 2: Tonally confused with nonsensical character motivations and conspicuous studio interference changing things at the last minute
04: Thor: The Dark World: So fucking boring I forgot everything about it the second I left the theatre.
03: Man of Steel: An overly grim, depressing slog of a film with murky visuals, pointless changes to Superman’s mythos, and almost every character is a horrible asshole. In short, the worst way to start a cinematic universe
02: Fantastic Four 2015: Bad special effects, ugly visuals, bland and stupid characters, cheesy writing, and a weirdly dark tone that completely misses the point of what the Fantastic Four are supposed to be.
01: Wonder Woman 1984: A saccharine, sappy, schmaltzy mess of a film that’s far longer than it needs to be thanks to pointless filler, with a childishly simplistic plot, dodgy special effects, a horrifically racist depiction of Middle Easterners, and the hero literally becomes a rapist

Feast of 1000 Beasts (Not Literally)
Butcher’s birthday was back in January, but this was still so much fun to write up. I don’t think I’m catching up any time soon though XD
Once again, this is set in the @nightmare-castle universe, with a guest appearance from Utotale! Hope you all enjoy!
“Excuse me! May I have everyone’s attention?” Pyre looked upon his brother’s teammates… coworkers? Associates? Whatever… Cross, Killer, and Dust were all in the lounge, playing cards. Well, Dust and Killer were playing, and Cross was about three seconds away from turning the table into a lawn dart. Why the ex-soldier continued to play cards against these two never ceased to surprise him, considering that it almost always ended up with Cross being broke and angry at the world.
At the very least, it seemed that his announcement would save him from having to replace another table. All three of them looked up as he spoke out in his usual loud voice, with various amounts of actual interest in whatever he had to say. Still, he had their attention, which is exactly what he asked for, so no time to complain about all the little details!
“As I’m sure you’re all aware, today is my brother’s birthday!”
“Oh… was that today?” Cross chimed in with uncertainty.
“Butch has a birthday?” Killer added.
“Don’t care,” was all Dust mumbled, placing down a card from his hand. “Ono.”
“Dammit! How the hell do you always win?!”
“Cross, if you don’t break the table, I shall forgive you all for forgetting my brother’s birthday,” Pyre sighed, looking to the three in exasperation. “Never fear! The great Pyre always has a backup plan to account for things such as others forgetting birthdays! I’ve already planned a great feast as my brother’s present, with our king’s permission of course! And you three are going to help me!”
Killer’s skull moved as if he was rolling his nonexistent eye lights. “And why would we do that? What do we get outta helping ya?”
With the most serious look he could muster, Pyre calmly stated, “Only those that assist will be allowed to enjoy the feast.”
“Wait, so if we don’t help you out, we go hungry?” Cross seemed to be the most upset… er, well he seemed to be the only one that was upset about that possibility. That meant that he’d have to plan around Killer and Dust’s obvious reluctance.
The taller skeleton’s usual grin was back on his face as he waved off the soldier’s worries. “Oh, not to worry! Your task is relatively easy Cross! All you need to do is keep my brother occupied whilst I shop for and prepare the feast! As for you two…” His gaze turned to the others, ignoring how the monochrome skeleton clearly didn’t think that entertaining Butcher would be easy. “You two will be coming with me to the Uto market! I’ll be in need of help carrying the groceries and picking out the best selections!”
“Why don’t ya just take Butcher hunting?” Killer piped up, leaning back in his chair as he casually threw down a skip that left Cross fuming. “Don’t you Horrortale variants love fresh meat? Just throw him in some safari or nature preserve and call it good!”
“Oh, now that is just verse-ist and you know it.” He waggled his finger disapprovingly in the emotionless skeleton’s direction, even if his scolding would have little to no effect. “If you wish though, think of the trip to the market as a civilized hunting trip! And we shall be doing the hunting so that my brother can enjoy his birthday without having to worry about food!” Even if his brother might truly revel in the thrill of the hunt, he wanted to pamper him and allow Butcher to enjoy a meal with no work or strings attached for once.
“I’m in,” Dust shrugged his shoulders, turning his focus back to the single card in his hand as he threw it down. “And I win again.”
“Wait, you’re actually gonna go along with this?” Killer seemed surprised that the normally reclusive skeleton was up for it, everyone ignoring how Cross was tugging on his uniform’s straps and trying desperately not to scream in rage as Dust scooped up all of his G on the table.
The hooded skeleton was focused more on counting his winnings, only glancing up slightly between Pyre and Killer. “It’s a day off, right? The king gave permission, and we all know better than to argue with Pyre.”
“Huh, good point… okay, I’m in!” Killer hopped to his feet, with his quiet teammate legging behind as he scooped up his winnings. “So, we heading out right now?”
The tallest skeleton of the bunch was thrilled that the two were willing to assist on the promise of a day off, clapping his hands a bit and nodding. “We can if the both of you are ready!”
“Wait, how the hell am I supposed to distract Butcher?!” Cross cried out, looking at the group as they started heading out.
Killer was the one to respond, turning around and sneering, “Maybe play cards against him! It’s always fun watching you lose over and over again!” Dust snickered quietly at the remark, with Pyre sighing once again as he ignored all of the curses slipping from the soldier’s mouth.
“Very well, let us get going then! The sooner we get there, the sooner we can procure everything we need!” Leading the way, Pyre turned back once to wish Cross good luck in his quest, missing the look of desperation directed at his back as the three skeletons teleported to Utotale.
Cross knew that he was screwed. Why did he get this assignment?! Didn’t Pyre like him? He was way more responsible than the other two, so why was he the one left on babysitting duty while they got to go to Uto? Groaning to himself, the ex-soldier looked down to where Butcher was sitting in the garden, sharpening his axe and humming some tune to himself. Maybe he could just leave the big guy alone? Surely Butcher would be able to entertain himself for a while… though he’d get suspicious the second he went to the kitchen and found his brother missing. Stars, he really was about to do this, wasn’t he?
Descending the steps, he noticed the subtle movements of his teammate’s skull, indicating that Butcher now knew he was here. “Whatcha doin’ here, marshmallow? Come ta smell the roses?” The larger skeleton clearly thought that he was funny, whereas the marshmallow nickname just left Cross once again considering to bail on this plan and fend for himself for dinner.
“I told you not to call me that,” he growled back in response, shooting the other a glare as their gazes finally met. Taking a breath to calm his temper, he tried to seem as casual as possible. “I was just… curious about what you were working on, that’s all.”
That one red eye narrowed suspiciously at his words, Butcher putting his whetstone in his pocket as he stood up. “Yer a horrible liar, little Oreo. Mind tellin’ me why yer really here?”
He didn’t know which nickname was worse, but at least Oreo didn’t imply that he was soft and squishy like marshmallow did. Steeling his nerves, he stood as tall as he could… even if it did nothing to minimise the height difference between them. Well… Killer had said that they love seeing him lose… “Fine, you caught me. Had a bit of a challenge for ya. I need to practice dealing with more aggressive monsters, so… how about a hunt?” Oh stars, this was a horrible idea! “I run off into the garden, and you hunt me down. I get my practice, and you get… whatever you get out of hunting other monsters down.”
It seemed to take the scarred skeleton a moment to process his request, though his eye was quick to dilate as if trying to take all of him in at once. “Y’sure ya wanna do that, Oreo? Can’t say I’ll hold back if ya really get me going.” Swallowing down his fear, Cross nodded, the action causing Butcher to let out a raspy chuckle. “Alright tidbit, I’ll give ya a head start. Better hope ya can run fast, or this won’t be any fun~”
Blinking a couple times, the monochrome skeleton quickly processed the predatory look he was being given, and bolted. “I’m such a fucking idiot, I should’ve gone with cards!” He hissed at himself, hoping to put as much distance between himself and his hunter as possible before his head start was up. He could only hope that things were going smoothly on Pyre’s end of things.
“Here we are, the Utotale market!” Pyre announced with glee, gesturing to the many stalls and shops filled with monsters bustling about. This utopic world welcomed anyone so long as they didn’t cause trouble, including those among Nightmare’s ranks. As such, nobody spared them more than a glance before continuing on their way. It was nice to not be scorned for their political associations for once, the tall skeleton enjoying the peaceful view for a moment before getting on with the day’s mission.
Fishing out a pen and notebook, he turned to the two skeletons he’d recruited with his usual enthusiasm. “Alright! I want my brother’s feast to be memorable, and as such I want to collect ingredients from several AUs! The main focus shall be meat, as it’s my brother’s favourite, but we’ll need all sorts of supplies. Killer, can you please start looking around for more rare and exotic meats? I want the main dishes to be special and memorable! And Dust, can you look for unique produce? There should be plenty of options here. I shall be acquiring a few of the items I already know that I need, but do not hesitate to get my attention if you find something!”
Feeling confident in his instructions, he waved as the pair wandered off to explore, watching them mutter to themselves before snickering. Part of him was worried that the two were planning to cause trouble, but he figured that neither of them would be foolish enough to provoke a fight in this world. Just because it was a utopia, didn’t mean that the world was void of talented fighters. It was practically a requirement, given how often multiversal travellers and outcodes stopped here.
As the papyrus went about his shopping trip, he wasn’t too surprised when Killer flagged him over quickly. When he went to see what he’d found though, Pyre was left unimpressed as the emotionless skeleton pointed to a piece of gum on the sidewalk. “Hey look, I found something! Think this’ll work for your feast thing?”
“Killer… that’s a piece of gum.”
“Yeah? Just because I don’t have eye lights doesn’t mean I’m blind. Besides, you said for us to call you over if we found anything, and I found something. It’s even edible, so bonus!”
Already regretting his earlier wording, Pyre’s attempt to chastise Killer for being a smartass was interrupted by Dust flagging him down. “Hopefully it’s something good…” Turning back to Killer, he glared as he clarified, “Alright, how about I reword things? Call me over if you find a meat product that I can use in the feast.”
Ignoring the snickering coming from behind him as he turned away, Pyre rushed over to where Dust was, only to sigh as he saw the same shit-eating grin on his face. “Found a good napping spot. This bench is pretty comfy.”
“Nyeh! You’re supposed to tell me if you found any decent produce!” Grumbling to himself, it became clear quite quickly that the pair had planned this. “Only call me over if you find good produce, understand? I have a lot of shopping to get done and I cannot spend all of my time chasing after you two!” Huffing, he quickly walked off back to where he’d been shopping originally. He really hoped that Cross was having better luck on his end of things.
“Ready or not, here I come, marshmallow!” It took every bit of training Cross had to not snap back at Butcher for the comment, knowing that doing so would give away his current location. Lucky for him, the garden was vast and had plenty of ground for him to hide in. Still, he knew better than to stay still; keeping moving would be best considering who was chasing him. If he just hid in a bush, then Butcher would sniff him out in no time.
At the very least, his plan was working to keep the big guy occupied and distracted from his brother’s shopping trip, though he was still questioning his sanity given the plan he’d ended up going with. There wasn’t any way to change it now though, so all he could do was keep going, running deeper and deeper into the gardens in the hopes of buying himself more time before Butcher actually made contact.
Every twist and turn through the maze-like garden left the ex-soldier more and more disoriented, the thought that he’d gotten turned around and was actually heading towards his hunter having come up more than once. Sighing, all Cross could do was keep going and hope for the best at this point… best being that he didn’t get an axe embedded in his ribcage.
After however long he’d been going, Cross figured that if he hadn’t already been caught by now, he’d put enough distance between them for a break. Despite his training, he knew that he couldn’t go on forever at the same pace. It would be better for the monochrome skeleton to take a break now while he could, ensuring that he’d have enough energy to run when the time came.
Yet just as he sat down and leaned up against a tree, his instincts started screaming at him to move. Cross was quite thankful that he listened when he did, rolling out of the way just as a familiar axe went flying through the air and embedded itself in the tree he’d just been against.
“Oh bollocks, looks like I missed,” Butcher purred, slow steps taking him directly towards his axe and his quarry. Taking the hint, Cross scrambled to his feet and took off once again, all thoughts of taking a break now completely gone from his mind as he realised that his teammate would pounce on him the second he stopped. No, he had to keep going, and just pray that he wasn’t making some horrible mistake.
Pyre was finally starting to make some headway, having purchased a few essential ingredients, when he noticed that Killer was trying to get his attention. Seeing that the shorter skeleton was actually standing near a shop this time, he felt that this trip would turn out to be more promising than the last one.
He was so wrong. While Killer had indeed found a meat product as instructed, he was proudly gesturing to a regular old butcher shop with the more common meats found across the multiverse for sale. Beef, chicken, pork, and various fish all filled the counter, and Killer was acting like he’d found a cornucopia of goodies.
“Killer… we have all of this meat available to us at home,” he pointed out, frowning at the chuckle his words received.
“Not my fault someone wasn’t specific with their instructions, you just told me to find meat.”
“I told you at the beginning of our trip to find rare and exotic meats! Not- ugh, I don’t know why I’m wasting my energy arguing with you when you’re doing this on purpose.”
“Honestly, I’m not sure why you are either,” Killer shrugged, waltzing out of the butcher shop and leaving behind an annoyed Pyre and one very confused butcher. Apologizing to the people present for the disturbance, he quickly fled the shop and tried to get back to his shopping, ignoring the laughter echoing from the emotionless skeleton nearby. For someone with muted emotions, he sure did get an annoying amount of joy out of making others miserable.
He was half-expecting Dust to pipe up with some annoying misinterpretation of his instructions as well, only to see no sign of him. The taller skeleton cautiously went about his shopping, though he was distracted as he kept expecting his sullen friend to pop up with another joke to tell. But… nothing. There was no sign of him anywhere, and Killer even commented on his absence.
Growing worried, Pyre wondered if Dust had simply taken a nap on the bench he’d found earlier. But instead of finding the familiar sight of a sleeping skeleton, all there was at the bench was a hastily scrawled note. Got bored. Too many people. See you later. - D
“Oh no! Dust has wandered off somewhere! Oh, what if he gets lost? Or hurt? Or lost and hurt?! Oh nyoh-hoh-hoh, why did he go off on his own?!”
“Pyre, relax!” Killer commented, appearing beside him and clapping a hand against his back. “This is Dust we’re talkin’ about! Dude’s a one-man army, so if he gets in trouble, he won’t be the one hurt.”
“ … That’s somehow even worse! Oh, what if he hurts someone? We’ll be banned from ever shopping here again! And the king will be so mad! Oh, Killer! We have to find him before everything goes wrong!”
The smaller skeleton shot him a wry smile, looking at him as if he’d grown a second skull. “What part about relax did you not get? Ya gotta stop looking at all the things that can go wrong… and instead look at that sick-ass pachinko parlour! I bet I can double my G in there!” And off Killer went, waving for the other to follow him before he disappeared inside.
Sighing, Pyre went to check if he had enough to pay for the inevitable gambling debt that would come, only to frown as he patted his pocket. It. Was. Empty. “Killer, you scoundrel! How dare you pickpocket the great Pyre?!” Maybe Killer was right and Dust could take care of himself for a while. Even if the hooded skeleton was moody and prone to outbursts, he knew well enough to not cause a disturbance in a place like this. With that justification, Pyre found himself chasing after Killer in the hopes of getting some of his G back before the idiot spent it all. He just had to pray that he wasn’t making some horrible mistake.
“Ohshitohshitohshitohshit! Fucking shit!” Cross was left cursing up a storm as he dodged swing after swing of Butcher’s blade, the larger skeleton cackling behind him as he swung his weapon haphazardly. Each strike came perilously close to hitting him, leaving him struggling to dodge and weave around as he struggled to see both where he was going and where his attacker was aiming.
In one of his moments of looking behind himself, the monochrome skeleton failed to see the one tree that he was coming towards. As a result, he crashed straight into it, the air fleeing his chest and leaving him winded as he collapsed back into the dirt.
He half expected to open his eyes to find a blade buried in his chest, only to find himself alone once he looked around. Sitting up, Cross looked to the surrounding foliage in disbelief. There was no way that Butcher had given up hunting him… no, this had to be a trap, or… or something.
His teammate’s cackling laughter seemed to echo from all around him, causing his head to whip every which way until he was certain that he’d give himself whiplash. “Why don’t we… change things up a bit, marshmallow? Chasin’ ya’s no fun if ya can’t see a fuckin’ tree in the way. So instead of gettin ya glasses, we’re gonna see how well ya can find where I’m coming from.”
“Oh, fuck…” Cross groaned, pulling himself to his feet and surveying his surroundings. In the time that he’d been winded on the ground, the other skeleton had hidden somewhere within the gardens, waiting to ambush him. This was most definitely not what he’d expected when he’d come up with this idea, his hate for such a stupid plan only growing. But there was nothing that he could do now except live with the consequences of his actions… even if that meant having Butcher stalk him like a piece of meat.
As the monochrome skeleton tried to get his bearings, faint rustling could be heard behind him. Whipping around, he saw a bush rustling nearby only for it to go still shortly after, no indication that the larger skeleton was in there. Another rustle behind him led to the same result, and once again he was left spinning in circles, with a raspy cackle echoing through the air as if to taunt him.
Well… at least someone was having fun, and more importantly was staying distracted to buy Pyre all the time he needed. Gritting his teeth, Cross decided to be proactive for once and summon one of his swords, knowing that he’d most likely be needing it to better fend off attacks. “Ooh, look who’s gettin serious?” Butcher’s voice was crystal clear, coming from right behind him. Whipping around with his sword ready, the shorter skeleton intercepted the incoming attack, their weapons clashing against each other with both skeletons in each other’s faces. “The marshmallow’s finally fighting back~ I love it when my prey struggles.” A tongue snaked out from between Butcher’s parted teeth, licking along his mouth as he looked at him with hungry eyes.
Even as part of Cross grew worried at the predatory gaze locked on him, his temper flared at the demeaning nickname directed at him. Pushing the scarred skeleton off of him, he jumped back before lunging at the other with a snarl. “I told you don’t call me that!”
Snickering, Butcher fell back behind the shadow of a nearby tree. By the time Cross rounded the corner, his opponent was already gone, disappearing into the nearby dark foliage. “This is what I get for trying to hide from a Horror variant,” he grumbled, fully expecting the rest of their night to be full of jump scares and the two of them clashing. If he got out of this without a few wounds, he’d honestly be surprised. About all he could do now was make the best of a bad situation and hope things turned out like he’d planned.
“You spent HOW MUCH MONEY?!” Pyre blurted out, about ready to wring Killer’s nonexistent neck. “We needed that money to buy the ingredients! Why would you spend all of our money?!”
“Technically I spent all of your money,” Killer snickered, looking pretty pleased with himself as he was forcibly dragged out of the third place he’d bolted into. Contrary to his claims, the emotionless skeleton had not doubled his money in the pachinko parlour. In fact, he’d hadn’t even broken even, resulting in Pyre grumbling as he dragged the other from his seat. Insisting that he could make back the losses, Killer had then darted into a shop to find some rare, one-of-a-kind item that he could sell for a ton of cash… only for them to come out of there with more junk to carry around and a replica of some rare, one-of-a-kind item that was utterly worthless.
Now Pyre’s companion was apparently in the mood for snacks and junk food, disappearing into a convenience store where he spent an ungodly amount of money on scratch tickets, cigarettes, and some local drugs that were legal. The skeleton had been just grabbing his snacks for another round of purchases by the time Pyre got his hands on him.
“This is just great,” the Papyrus variant muttered, slumping down to look at what his money had been spent on. “I’m broke, have none of the supplies I needed, and Dust is still missing! Can this day get any worse?!”
As if the universe saw fit to punish him for testing fate, thunder rumbled in the distance, and the first few drops of rain started to fall. “You had to say it,” Killer sneered, looking to the sky. “Though I gotta admit, I’m surprised that the rain didn’t start until you opened your big mouth. Woulda thought stuff like that only happened in the movies.”
“You are not helping my mood whatsoever, you good-for-nothing pickpocket!” Grumbling to himself, the tall skeleton knew better than to stay out if it was truly going to rain. “Come on, let’s find a place to shelter and wait out the storm. I refuse to add being soaked to my list of reasons for being miserable.”
The two dragged Killer’s purchases along as they hunted for an overhang to hide under, hoping that the storm would blow past and they could continue on with their shopping. Judging by how the local monsters were closing up shop and seeking cover though, Pyre didn’t have a ton of hope. “Oh, I do hope that Dust will be alright!”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Came a familiar voice right beside Pyre, the suddenness of said voice causing a screech that may have cracked some nearby glass. Dust didn’t look impressed as the Papyrus turned to greet him, a bored look plastered on his face as he tugged his hood down a bit to keep out the growing wind. “I told ya I’d come back, right? Besides, why would you worry about me? I can take care of myself.”
“I told ya so!” Killer chimed in with glee, waving to his companion. “Heya Dusty! Where ya been?”
The other Sans variant just shrugged his shoulders. “Had a nap until someone woke me up. Then got bored again and went and played cards.”
“Please tell me you aren’t broke like Killer is,” Pyre groaned, wondering why all of his brother’s teammates seemed to have gambling problems.
“For the record, you’re the broke one Pyre. I’ve still got all of my G!”
Ignoring Killer’s comment, Dust just smirked and pulled out a large bag. The contents clinked against each other as he shook it, hinting that the whole thing was full of his winnings. “I don’t lose at cards.”
Before Killer could drool all over the bag, it disappeared back into Dust’s inventory. A book was then pulled out in its place, the hooded skeleton quickly tossing it to Pyre who fumbled and barely managed to catch it. “Found you a fancy cookbook. Thought you might like it. Picked up a few of the things the book said ya needed a bunch of too.”
When shown some of the ingredients that had been procured for him, Pyre felt ready to cry out of pure joy. “Oh Dust! You’ve saved the day, my mood, and my brother’s birthday feast!” Unable to hold back, he launched his arms around the shorter skeleton and hugged him close, missing the look of confusion, pain, and discomfort on the other’s face. By the time they pulled away, there was no sign of his expression having been anything but the neutral boredom from before.
“Right! With all of this and what we have at home, I should be able to pull the feast off! This book should help me turn even the most bland and basic ingredients into a dish for the ages, nyeh-heh-heh! Come now, let’s go home before the rain really gets going!” He didn’t have nearly the supplies that he’d hoped for, but the rain was shutting down the market so there’d be limited options for him to get more ingredients. That, and he had no money to get anything else thanks to Killer’s antics. Between what he managed to get earlier though and what Dust had got him, he’d hopefully have enough. About all he could do now was make the best of a bad situation and hope things turned out like he’d planned.
When the group returned home, Butcher was thankfully nowhere in sight. It seemed that Cross was still managing to keep his attention, giving Pyre all the time he needed to prepare the feast. Killer was almost immediately relieved of duty, the taller skeleton not wanting him to ruin anything else with his juvenile behaviour. The emotionless skeleton had just snickered and walked off, as if he’d accomplished his goal.
Dust wasn’t much help either, but he at least stayed around to sort and prep ingredients upon Pyre begging him to do so. There was simply too much work to get done in time for dinner. Had someone not used all of the tall skeleton’s savings to gamble and buy useless junk, perhaps he’d have more time like he’d planned for. But as it stood, he figured that Cross could inevitably only hold his brother’s attention for so long before the smell of food would steal Butcher away.
Thankfully, the castle had a wonderful kitchen that allowed him to cook many of the dishes at once, speeding up the process as Pyre used his boundless energy to run this way and that. It was the fastest he’d ever prepared a meal before, especially when factoring in the fact that many of the dishes and ingredients were foreign to him. Thanks to the cookbook Dust got him though, several mouth watering delicacies were prepared and set on the table by the time Butcher made an appearance.
The scarred skeleton came in with Cross slung over his shoulder, the ex-soldier wheezing and covered in dirt and bleeding cuts. Plopping the short skeleton in one of the dining chairs, Butcher stuck his head around the corner to find his brother coming through with another armload of dishes.
“Oh, Brother! Welcome back! And Happy Birthday! I do hope you enjoy the present we prepared for you!” As he went to set the dishes on the table among the other ones, Pyre finally caught sight of a barely conscious Cross slumped over in his seat. “Oh goodness, what on earth happened to him?”
“Lil marshmallow bit off a bit more ‘an he could chew, is all,” Butcher chuckled, fingers reflexively hooking onto his dead socket before Pyre made a point of swatting at him for the bad habit. “So what’s all this then? Ya said somethin’ bout a birthday present?”
The younger of the two brothers just grinned and gestured at the table, his smile only growing when he saw recognition and understanding fill his brother’s gaze, followed shortly after by awe and hunger. “Stars know I understand how much food means to you, so I figured what better present than a feast! Everything at the table is yours to taste and devour as you see fit, brother! Most of these dishes or the ingredients used are from foreign universes too, to make the present more exciting! Do you like it?” He was practically bouncing in place as he waited for feedback, paying no mind to Dust bringing the last few dishes in to fill in the few empty spots on the long banquet table.
Butcher remained silent for a while, looking over the various dishes while visibly drooling. He seemed to be struggling to take in such abundance, which made perfect sense to the taller skeleton, given that they’d gone without for so long. “Heh,” his brother finally spoke up, turning to his brother with a wide grin. “Best present I eva got, thanks bro. I’ll be sure ta enjoy it.” With that, his brother took Nightmare’s usual seat at the head of the table. Given that their king had no interest in participating or assisting with the events, there was no harm in the action. In fact, it was almost like it was the king’s gift to Butcher, giving him an evening where he was the most important and the center of attention.
Instead of taking a seat himself, Pyre remained standing to help keep his brother’s plate full. He brought the older skeleton various dishes from all over the table, allowing him to taste a bit of everything that was prepared. At Butcher’s insistence, he helped himself to a few servings as well, not wanting to upset the scarred skeleton on his special day.
Dust remained quiet as he ate, taking a modest helping from a few of the nearest dishes. When some of them weren’t to his liking, a bit of blue magic served to bring other options to him, allowing him to remain seated at the other end of the table and away from the chaos.
Killer must’ve heard the ruckus in the dining hall, because it wasn’t too long before he appeared and started stuffing his face. While Pyre would’ve scolded him for his lack of manners, he quickly thought better of it as the end result would likely only be a headache with no change in behaviour.
And poor Cross just sat there, groaning something about pain and hunting and stupid. Whatever he’d been up to as a means of distracting Pyre’s brother, it might’ve been a bit too effective from the looks of things. Ever appreciative of his efforts, the tall skeleton made sure to save him a plate to thank him for his hard work. Hopefully the intent poured into all his meals would help soothe whatever pain he currently found himself in.
While his plans hadn’t gone as expected, Pyre found himself thrilled with the result. His brother was full and happy, and Pyre himself even had a new cookbook and several new recipes to add to his repertoire! All in all, things turned out better than he’d hoped. Now… all that was left to do was dump dishwashing duty on Killer as payback for the stolen G.

This is my first time posting so I'm posting these small yet amazing ref sheets for three of my undertale au ocs from my own au I'm working on!
My friends meet three characters of mine from my own new alternate under-verse I'm making called fear-verse or phobia-verse! Where the bad sanses are based off of phobias/fears! >:D
(Their also known as the fear sans!)
First up we have the ultimate boss of my fear sanses Demron! Nightmare! He Is based off of fear of the dark also known as nyctophobia! He is almost a soulless being with nothing on his soul but spreading fear, death and pain!
(With some help from a good friend of mine Demron might also be based off of the fear of dreams/oneirophobia!)
Second of all we have the second in command of my fear sanses Puppeteer! Error! He is based off of pupaphobia or the fear of puppets! He doesn't really care for Demron's main goal but as a alternate version of the destoryer of au's he's happy to play along!
And thirdly we all probably love killer so here's my variant on him! Meet Shi! Killer!
(Fun fact: shi means death in Japanese :DD) He is based off of the fear of crying with his endless black tears and hatred burning forever within his exposed soul! He loves Demron's idea for pain, suffering and death to show the cruel world what it FEELS LIKE to actually be cruel!
I'll try post the rest of my under-verse characters that are coming soon! (Including my versions of dust, horror, Dream, ink and blueberry!)
I would also really appreciate some help! I need help with what phobia's my horror and dust should be based off of-
And what I should base my star sanses off of!
Thank you all for reading and keep a eye out for more updates! >:D
Art by yours truly uwu

Headcanons - LBD Verse - Macaque n’ Hamini
Tumblr media
Essentially: what if ‘x’ was taken over by LBD instead of Monkey King? This’ll include verse tags for both of ‘em, too.
WARNINGS FOR: Mentioned trauma, torture, and mental breaks. Lemme know if I missed anything~.
Tumblr media
Tag: [hope my eyes don’t open after I lay down to sleep/praying to a god that has never shown up for me: LBD!Veil] Theme: End It
LBD, instead of opting to possess Monkey King, instead poured more of her power into more strictly controlling Macaque. She had plans, indeed... And this shadowy simian would fulfill them all. He was not sent after the MK gang, instead allowing the team to rip open the Samadhi Fire. The gang made their way back, to take on LBD... And each was ripped into their own private Hell of LBD’s own creation, with Macaque’s shadow-movement forcing them each into their own private jail cell.
They were all broken, mind, body, and soul.... The fire torn from their worthless shells as Macaque slowly drove them all insane. Inside, he could do naught but watch as those he had hoped could stop this behemoth were driven right over the cliffs of madness. Shattered completely and thoroughly, Macaque now stands the jailor of those he once thought could kill LBD. He has nothing more to live for, and with his hope of a brighter future erased, he has been freed of most of LBD’s grip.... But her power remains within him, putting him on par with Monkey King. However...
He can’t help but worry...
Some of the prisoners have begun to disappear under the shadow of night.
Tumblr media
Tag: [they told me you were a killer/and I’ve got no doubt that the only way out of this thriller/is if I am a killer too: LBD!Hamini] Theme: killer
After the team made their way back to LBD, the worst was realized. She managed to gain the power of the Samadhi Fire, the ability to rend universes.- And suddenly let go of Monkey King, only for her own host to fall... And all of that power rushed into Hamini.
The Backstory Event ended right then and there. Hamini and LBD were thrown into the hive-memory, rushing through every single memory in the collective Writerverse in an instant of madness that stretched out over eons.
They have remained motionless ever since, save the faintest twitch of an eye, the momentary glow of blue followed by blinding white.
Note: I may, at some point, try to write a more comprehensive variant of ‘what if Wukong was possessed but it’s still the Eclipsed Celestials AU’ but for now, have these takes on things that didn’t happen in canon at all.

hiiii i’m currently watching hannibal (obsessed so far) and i remembered that u talked about a bartylus hannibal au pretty sure would you be willing to talk about it
AAAAAAA IM SO GLAD YOU’RE WATCHING IT IT HAS LITERALLY CHANGED ME BODY AND SOUL…….
and well!! i actually talked about a quillkiller au with hannibal because at first i was thinking bartylus but!! i dont think either of them would fit either role of will or hannibal ahdjdjsk :// like they’re both too unhinged and i cant see either of them being like. a psychiatrist or anything like that. so i couldnt make it work in my mind :/ however i do have several serial killer barty x criminology student regulus ideas but they differ a lot from the hannibal verse!!!
in my quillkiller au tho!! i think rita would still be a journalist or something similar to that and maybe assigned to do a piece on bellatrix. rita is my pookie serial killer hannibal variant <3 and bella would be the repressed socialite who’s trying to suppress her murderous darkness with everything she’s got. rita is curious and they start spending more time together because of the piece rita is doing on her. they have conversations similar to the ones between hannibal and will. rita wants to coax bellatrix’s darkness out. its about seeing and being seen. finding your match and unleashing them from their chains. emotional manipulation and violence as metaphor for devotion. carried out so tenderly and lovingly as if its a caress. so bella wouldnt be a will variant necessarily but she’s similar in the way that she’s fighting tooth and nail to supress her dark urges. theres betrayal and revelations and dancing around each other just like will and hannibal…..
rita just wants to unleash bella’s darkness and watch her go <3 but just like in hannibal rita’s motives from the beginning will change drastically once they become more intertwined with each other <3 to see and be seen in return <3

Zatanna Zatara (Fanon Variant)
1. I am using the comic variant of Zatanna, but none in particular in timeline/universe albeit using an altered New Earth’s powerset since it seemed to be the most in line with what I needed for an RPC variant while borrowing other iterations powersets. I am not nerfing her per-say, but making her in-line to have Superman/Wonderwoman etc be able to compete with the likes of Zatanna instead of her absolutely bodying him and WW and others in the caste for her various comic variants, granted they’re relatively inconsistent with how she’s portrayed in scaling, as I know in animated media she’s usually much weaker. So while technically outgunning him in firepower still albeit not durability? I am removing/altering her unfriendly abilities to roleplaying scenarios such as being able to control time, reality bending and the list goes on etc. So if you see her fighting Superman then with some help VS Trigon, Satan or something or holding her own at least on equal footing even if unable to win but just survive by herself? I kind of just make a cap and adjust as needed as I don’t want to put too much thought into this other than making a bar so technically weaker characters can fight her/win/kill her without undermining her in the rpc etc. I do reject certain matchups of her losing without plotting, however, some of it just won’t make sense. I’d see her verses if you want a more toned down variant for her younger verse. - 2. This is my variant of Zatanna and should be considered a fan variant I’ve used over the years, but decided to try and see if she can get traction on tumblr as it’s been a few years since I’ve used her. That being said, if you see certain AUs or plotlines/end results being similar to other scenarios I’ve had with characters on this blog? Well Zatanna is my most tortured glorbo due to DC’s setting, she walked so others could run. I’d say I’ve killed her roughly eight times, then gave her two worse than death scenarios that will be her main two default AUs. Then she’s survived around 10 to 14 times in groups I was in give or take I’d have to say. So yeah I’m welcoming AUs, end-game scenarios and of the like since god knows DC does a lot. - 3. Do not presume I’m using any timeline, animated series, relations my Zatanna has other than listed in her backstory. I will be taking various personality traits from the series overtime and more or less my own iteration of her. So if you end up not liking my take? Then that’s fine, I don’t intend on changing her. That being said, I remember the main crew of DC but I often forget the slew of the more obscure DC caste other than my favorites. Also ask me before starting a fight with this character. - 4. This character while serious I do have wise-cracking and sarcastic in a very cut and dry sense. Though sometimes ‘jokey’ and also in a gallows humor-esque scenario as she is an entertainer as a hobby for mine. More or less if she likes you enough to try to get you to smile.
Keynotes to make: My Zatanna is a detective for the supernatural and tracking down serial killers, missing heros, villains, important political figures of the like or carrying out tasks and figuring out important crimes, and I'll even be willing to go galactic bc of her scaling, then a paranormal investigator when dealing with other realms. Her magician work is something she has more or less as a hobby parlor trick and a front to what she does often out of the public eye. Not that she cares, but she prefers discrepancy, professionalism... to some degree to at least getting the task done. Instead of using ‘logomancy’ I will simply be using Latin for her spell sayings for something more concrete. - 5. If you have an overly angsty or edgy character especially from DC of all things? I do ask that you inform me and that you’re alright with my Zatanna’s commentary. As she does try to entertain herself when bored with a fight as it becomes more of a chore rather than a battle of tactics and intellect.

Faceclaim: up above.
Do I want them to die: Sure, just talk to me first. People die all the time and come back in the same timelines in DC Comics and Marvel alike so it’s not a big deal really for me to just take a shotgun to her. She’s not a pushover by any means, however, so be warned if fighting her, I won’t kill her if it doesn’t make sense but I am game for it for a bad end. Will I have/get icons: Around 577 of them for her and her AUs. Tags and AUs: Sorcerer Supreme (Default) Everything listed below in powers is relevant. ->Sarah Kerrigan (Human/Purged of Alien Infection) Voice<- (Main Voice Claim, it doesn’t have the radio noise or whatever in the sound effect, but I thought it’d work and it fits with Demonic Supreme’s verse) - Sorcerer Titan (Past Canon Verse, she’s toned down in this verse, so more in line with media-like appearances but with my variant. So her beams not as potent/wide and her spells are not as strong or potent. Then her magical pool has not been toned. She is twenty in this verse as the Teen Titans believe it or not, are usually adults in the comics for various reasons) - Psyker Supreme (Sci-Fi Verse, this verse is to be used in no magic universes and relatively functions the same but more based on science) - Demonic Supreme (I may use this AU more often with other Demonic Beings if they desire it or even offer it, as she could have simply killed another Satan even if interacting with a Satan or something)(Corruption AU, this verse is her after with the help of her allies in a past ending I did, has her become a Demonic Sorcerer Lord after killing Satan with the help of her allies and absorbing him. She does this to keep back the forces of the other realm with them under her control and seals herself in the other realm for that Universe’s Hell for all time. She becomes a shell of her former self, her memories damaged severely and overtime? Is no longer the Zatanna that you know other than a demented, sadistic and cruel version of her and all too depraved. Her power-scaling is rather high for this verse as a warning and leans towards necromancy and infernal based magic along with added ontop of her own elemental forms having a certain infernal corrupted color to them such as fire being a sickly green, ice having a glowing blue etc and so on. As do keep in mind she has her own powerset still and what you’d expect out of literal Satan after murdering the hell out of him then absorbing him. ->Voice Claim is Kerrigan’s VA from this vod and volume warning<- Tell me if it ever goes down. - Parasite Supreme (Sci-Fi Corruption AU, this verse takes a familiar premise to the Demonic One, and became a thing mostly from Zatanna becoming infected with a parasite hivemind known as ‘The Mass’, to which her Psionic Presence was so great? That she ended up consuming it instead and the Hivemind and its entirety by accident and a step in human evolution. Think of The Many from System Shock for voice but also what they are, the Zerg but a much more neutral being. And more or less an alien hybrid trying to find a purpose in existence. Though is not above methodical conflict as most of her memories of her prior life are damaged or simply gone. As in the vast endless space? There is always endless conflict or intrigue to pursue, Zatanna deep down is still there even if what she is now. Notable differences in power is that she’s backed by a parasite, killer hybrids army that assimilates other beings. Granted, under Zatanna’s control? She’s more passive and while cruel? Is rather neutral as a being but capable of companionship and to some extent, yearns for it in a sense of not wanting to combine their flesh with hers and consuming yet another mind. ->Voice Claim is The Many from System Shock 2<- - ->Link to Faceclaims and Icon Samples for both AUs<- (Nsfw warning/body horror)
- If you have an AU suggestion or plot-line to pursue with me for one of my AUs or build-up into it? Let me know! - Age: 47 Sex: AMAB Gender: Trans Female, any pronouns. She does wear masculine clothing such as her signature suit often, however and does lean toward he/him pronouns equally to she/her. Race: Half Homo Magi (Magic Humanoid Race, Yes, this is canon) / Half Italian and Romanian (Human) Sexuality: If she likes you, otherwise she does not care unless you’re... ‘stupid’ or something. She’s not really into the dumb types other than rarely. Personality traits: Does show mercy and often does. Though she’s not above simply zapping a super villain to death if they’re going to cause more harm eventually, most thankfully for them? She’s got bigger fish to fry even if dealing with them in passing or just not bothering to thread the needle. She doesn’t take killing lightly, she takes it as a responsibility if she’s going to end someone. A big rules stickler. She likes to think she makes up for it being a smartass, sharp-wit and cutting tongue in fights or verbal exchanges. Likes a verbal challenge even if irritating for others around her. Polite. Tactical. Smooth talker. Stand-offish at first and professional. Gets bored of inferior challenges or puzzles. Does Magician Work as a hobby and she thinks its funny and good for parties and likes an audience. Has a gallows humor at times, but can just make little jokes to get a smile out of someone. Likes to entertain. Intelligent. Extremely Arrogant and Confident but cautious. Curious. Adventurous. Keeps a log of all creatures and people she encounters in fights, or possible threats and even allies and documents their strengths and weaknesses and whether or not if she can take advantage of those weaknesses in a fight, then the best way to deal with them not only in fights, but emotionally and mentally as well. Cold but compassionate to people and their well-being, eventually going from extremely cold to extremely hot in terms of how she shows affection, otherwise it’s shown subtly and in intended thankless gestures or even behind the scenes of aid. Notably, she can become embarrassed if found out she helped someone with not wanting them to know. Rarely does she tell someone if she makes their life for the better in a significant way if she doesn’t know them well. Likes to collect things, information and the occult. Likes mysteries and movie media, historical documentaries and people documentaries. Culture, history and the condition of varying people of not only Earth but others as well mentally speaking. Then she likes shows such as Murder cases and CSI-Type shows that aren’t just murder porn but justice for the victims and their memory. Has an immense ego and likes it fed, but tries to keep herself in check. Dislikes touching from those she does not know well enough to simply do it, she won’t get violent at first, but you can expect it if you keep it up after she gives a forceful but gentle push away. Perfectionist. Loyal unto death. Not too expressive facially, however, at first anyway. Even if showing mercy, if fighting an actual threat? She doesn’t hold back, especially if she thinks they can take it if it’s a high-stakes fight. Self-sacrificing. Has no real fear of death. Numb to death. Enigmatic in intentions at times. Can be mysterious to even her own loved ones at times. Can be selfish toward her own goals at times, but is calculating none the less to cause the least amount of harm toward it or simply for the betterment of those around her or the world as a whole. Is hesitant at times to bring others with her that she isn’t aware of what they’re capable of. Has a formal way of speaking, but can curse and can become rather sassy in her own way, and loves to mentally goad her enemies or berate them or even degrade their humanity if ‘bad enough’. Loves a good intellectual boxing. Sees magic as cutting out the middle-man when it comes to science and the studies of the arcane, she finds humans admirable and truly impressive at times. She can understand and use science but it simply does not suit her needs, wants and cravings as her species. Mental traits: None notable as she’s rather humanish in nature. But does lack certain emotions comparatively such as being devoid of fear other than rarely, but still feels humanish all the same. She is capable of developing trauma. Physical traits: Around 5′7, flat-chested with pale skin, fairly thick with an hourglassish frame. Does have a little bit of stomach but is fairly toned as she does work out, but only for field work. When astral-projecting, she does have a ‘true form’ which is more or less just a tentacle creature that’s shapeless and only a white-outline, but isn’t exactly an eldritch horror. More like just part of what she is mentally and soul-wise as a hybrid race of ascended human-like beings that mate with other species to procreate across the realms. Rarely, does she take this form willingly, however. She isn’t self-conscious about it but prefers people not knowing her inner nature, granted supernatural beings would be able to see what Zatanna truly is underneath it all, so feel free to make comments. Her voice has an echo to it when using her element forms. Powers: I am listing these just for the sake of ease of what I’m changing/removing or adding. Zatanna doesn’t really need help in terms of powers, merely alteration to make it more simple. Magic: I will say this wildly varies as she can make actual spells. Things have varied but from sealing a great demon to resurrecting aquaman as the ocean (Yes, the literal ocean), Zatanna has performed quite a bit of feats over the years and while I’m familiar with only certain timelines? I will borrow various powers for her alteration and removal of others. Keep in mind that actual spells are different from her Lord of the Elements main power. And that those spells have different uses and trees in each one, I will be more communicative if using spells in say a fight, but otherwise I list this mostly to just say: yeah, she knows a lot as a Sorcerer Supreme in her universe and needs quite a bit of reworking to not make her overbearing to interact with. - (Reworked) The Lord of Elements: Zatanna can manipulate magical elements such as: - Pyrokinesis: Generate heat and manipulate magical fire. (Becomes that of billowy fire, molten glowing eyes)(Ignis) - Cryokinesis: Generate cold and manipulate magical ice crystals. (Becomes that of icy crystals for her body and aurora lights for her hair, icy glowing eyes)(Glacies) - Electrokinesis: Generate electricity and manipulate magical lightning. (Becomes that of pure electricity, blue electric eyes)(Offensus) - Hydrokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical water. (Becomes that of pure water, glowing aqua colored eyes)(Nebula) - Geokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical rocks. (Becomes jagged and rock like with flowing comet-hair with a streak of star-light in it, cosmos colored eyes with stars within them)(Aes) - Aerokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical wind. (Becomes that of a white smooth clouds forming a person rather than, her hair visible, rapid winds)(Respirare) - Photokinesis: Generate and manipulate magic lights. (Becomes that of pure yellow light with a shining hair streak and eyes)(Lux) - Umbrakinesis: Generate and manipulate magic shadows. (Becomes that of trailing shadows, glowing purple eyes)(Umbra) - Harmful to the touch: being made of certain elements as an Elemental Lord does make her extremely deadly to touch in certain cases. But she can allow friends and allies to, granted, if unconscious? She’ll be deadly to anyone that tries to approach. - More specific Spells Require a Chant rather than just energy. Her actual spells require mana while her power of elements simply is her main one and form of combat. Spells she uses based on the situation but they widely varied and you are warned if fighting her. As I do need to plot if fighting a character of equal power with high stakes. Just a fight between her and someone else is fine, however, of course in her Teen Titans Canon Past Verse her spells and energy beams and manipulation are not as great. - Elemental Lord Notes: Zatanna does not require verbal incantation to perform these spells in simply using their energy and power as a beam and shapes, only to change which element she’s currently focusing on. Actual spells such as making fire beasts, shadow weaving or an elemental storm? Then yes, she’d have to perform an incantation and the power increases significantly if it’s the current element she’s wielding. Her body reflects and changes which one she changes to as the Sorcerer Supreme from looking as if made of fire or an ice-like body with aurora lights hair for ice? Her looks widely vary and have various aesthetics. She CAN still use other elements but they’re not as nearly as powerful. - Anything MARKED OUT/STRIKED OUT is removed or changed greatly. - Magic at a Great Price: Things such as time travel, resurrection and other immensely great spells accessible to the Sorcerer Supreme are powerful indeed, but always have unintended consequences. Sometimes, perhaps making the outcomes even worse than intended, Zatanna often warning those who seek it or wish it that the consequence may be greater to bare. - Telekinesis (Reworked, she simply uses this to fly passively): Zatanna can move/obtain objects and people at a distance with her spells. - Telepathy (Reworked, if the target is beaten down and unconscious, she can read their minds and erase memories. She can communicate with allies from great distance): Zatanna can also read minds, view and erase memories of others with or without the person's consent. - Teleportation: (Reworked, she can teleport passively within one hundred feet, then expend inner magic reserves up to a mile. Then after a minute of concentration and time to chant? She can teleport to any known location with a minor-moderate rate of mana use) She can send herself and/or anyone to anyplace she/they wish to visit without any space/time restrictions. - Dimensional Travel: Zatanna can travels through dimensions through portals she opened with magic. (Requires Chant) - Reality Alteration: She can manipulate reality at will to inflicts confusions and mental trauma on her target. (removed) (She has used this ability to a greater extent in other iterations, it needs to be removed) - Antipathy: Zatanna can reverse physical trauma so all damage that comes to her will hit her target instead. (removed) - Deflection: (Reworked, Zatanna has an inner manashield to which absorb and block blows of varying energy and of the like, but it does tap her regenerating inner magic reserves. So if overwhelmed enough? She could have her shield broken) Zatanna can return energy projections sent to her back to their source without loss of momentum or power. - Chronokinesis: Zatanna can move time forwards or backwards or even stops time in demand. (removed) - Chronoshift: Zatanna may access time travel in the form of going into a dimension only able to access her telekinesis and Elemental Lord innate powers, but not spells. She can and usually brings others with her, as it usually is what the spell requires is a great task performed in exchange as part of Magical Planar Law. She usually uses this for investigations, finding out memories, accessing information unobtainable from crime scenes or perhaps even changing the outcome of a dire consequence with perhaps one in exchange. She can use this to revive people or a form of reality bending to change an event, but, there is always a cost to bare, a heavy price either paid by her or someone else. This can kill her or someone in question depending on how great the deed or event is changed, as either the price or the accepted quest or deed in the many planes of existence and magical realms. Things can get really weird, really fast with this one. It varies greatly for what can and what will happen and is mostly a plot-device power but a fitting one nonetheless. - Weather Manipulation: Zatanna can control and affects the weather in a certain area. (Requires Chant) - Eldritch Blast: Zatanna can blast enemies with mystical energy. (removed, redundant) - Elemental Lord Constructs and Inanimate Animation: Zatanna can use her magical energies to create inanimate objects such as traps or devices to suit her needs. Or beings made of pure elemental power. (Requires Chant the Stronger it is) - Energy Transference (Slight Rework): Zatanna once forced a "nightmare" demon into the dreams of hundreds of people to split him apart then locked him away in her hat. She can perform astral combat and dream planar navigation to subdue and beat down whatever may be influencing or mind controlling other beings. - Flight: Zatanna can fly or levitate however she says that this requires a lot of energy and concentration and therefore she chooses not to fly if possible. (Removed, Redundant) - Force Field: Zatanna can create magical shields to withstand bullets, blasts, blows and explosions. The greater the size or density of the shield the more effort it takes Zatanna to hold. (Removed, Redundant) - Healing: Zatanna can heal herself or whoever she chooses from most injuries. This includes reviving the recently killed, but the time frame is around twenty-four hours. (Requires Chant and Mana the greater the Energies) - Phasing (Slight Rework): Zatanna can make herself into her "phantom form" and become intangible. (This is simply available in her Shadow Element when focused on it) - Size Alteration (Slight Rework): Zatanna can increase or decrease her size or the size of others to any conceivable size. (At max a being can only go 4x their size or smaller by 4x, an unwilling target has to be moderately wounded or taken off guard enough to shrink, granted, if a weaker target such as a regular human? Or simply weaker meta-human? She can simply do this with a chant as normal)(NPC use only unless given permission by rper to shrink or enlarge their character)(The smaller you are? The weaker and slower you are, but the bigger you are? You are stronger and faster by a larger amount but take up more space) - Transformation: Zatanna can turn anything into anything else, essentially. For instance, she has turned bullets into paper airplanes as well changing her clothes instantly. Most often she changes violent objects into harmless things. Living objects need to be severely damaged or taken off guard to be willingly changed, there is a limit, however, as one could not become a dragon per-say or her making a legion of dragons out of ordinary people, perhaps Superman could become a dragon after a great amount of mana was used, but there’d be little point to it unless for a specific circumstance, as he’s stronger than a dragon so he’d retain all his strength but have a bigger size, slightly thicker hide and be more durable and breathe fire, but practically it would not be useful for him specifically. Now Barry, otherwise the Flash would be a pretty deadly combo combined with his powers so it depends. I will say a greater transformation takes a chanting of thirty minutes of the subject standing still, so this cannot be abused. On that note she could turn someone permanently into a rabbit or dove, however. For aesthetic purposes.
- Racial Abilities and Traits: Birth Right of the Homo Magi: Zatanna’s inner magical pool has been honed and toned as if an extra planar muscle and is an extremely vast magical pool. Metahuman Levels of Supernatural Physique: Zatanna’s natural endurance, speed and strength is that of a Metahuman, so she could punch a hole through someone. Or kick a car door in or something. Then can and will take hefty blows from other physically stronger Metahumans pretty well even without her shields, so feel free to knock her around, shoot her or something. Immortal: Zatanna does not age once she reaches adulthood and simply exists as herself. Consequently aging abilities do not harm her and of the like. Homo Magi Mental Fortitude: Zatanna is not capable of being mind-controlled or of affected by certain timestop/freezing/paralysis/being scryed/spyed on magically or mentally magics or things that affect the nervous-system, so cannot be easily mind controlled etc. She’d have to be beaten down mentally, not physically even unconscious. So you’d have to torture her or dose her pretty high depending on what it is. Homo Magi Arcane Endurance: Zatanna has a constantly regenerating arcane pool to tap into to cast her spells and of the like. It can be temporarily exhausted if she’s exerting to Titanic Levels, however, which can leave her vulnerable. That’s not usually her style though. Homo Magi Eldritch Arcane Penetration: As the Lord of the Elements, even beings that are capable of absorbing certain elements or unaffected are hit as if normal or with resistance if highly enduring. Her innate energy attacks are quite literally just that, energy, which is different from magic, but could be absorbed or resisted than in other ways of being nullified scientifically. Homo Magi Reactions: This is to simply have her able to keep up reaction time wise, as she does in the comics, but it should be clear that she can fight speedsters or someone like Superman moving at great speeds, as she herself isn’t the flash, but can move at rather great paces herself. And she’s a supernatural being to begin with rather than a mutant, so she can indeed react and keep up etc mostly as a note. - Weaknesses: You need to talk to me before whipping out her weaknesses on her without my permission. Forms of Verbal and Sound Silence, granted, this does not effect being in vacuums such as space. Merely her ability to say words even if nothing can be said as they are ‘magical words’. If kept from saying them or magically sealed, all she has access to is the current element she’s using for raw powers. - Forms of Anti-Magic that prevent her casting spells, but she’d still have access to her Elemental Beams, Shapes and of the like. - Forms of Magic-Leeching can tap into her reserves, but her innate mental fortitude does block quite a bit of leeching. - These weaknesses effect her more greatly for her Sorcerer Titan verse for when it applies. - If any are removed or not listed, it is simply that I’ve nerfed or removed greater aspects of her raw power in exchange to be hopefully better thought out for RPC based interactions. - Abilities and Professions: Prestidigitation: Zatanna is a greatly skilled magician and an expert illusionist, therefore performing extraordinary (real)tricks and incredible illusions on stage is super simple to her. Hypnosis: Zatanna can hypnotize anyone and command them to do anything she pleases. (Removed) Detective (Added): Zatanna often deals with Superhuman Serial Killers, Prolific Serial Killers, Mysterious Cases, Investigations, Tracking Down Missing People, Important Figures, Heroes, Villains, Political Figures, Past Historical Events and History if paid to seek information or doing a trade for an artifact, the Paranormal, Exorcisms and of the like. This can even go to a galactic and dimensional scale and is welcome to pursue. Meditation: Through meditation, Zatanna can astral project. She is aware of her surroundings during this. Zatanna is capable of bringing others with her when astral projecting to other realms, this can be used to talk to the dead. Astral Projection: Zatanna's consciousness can leave her physical body and travel to other planes of existence. Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced): Zatanna has received extensive training from her time with the Justice League of America and from her father who always told her to rely on her wits as well as her fists should her magic fail. Occultism: As a chronicler of magic she possesses an extensive understanding of occult lore due to her mystic background. Multilingualism: Able to speak English and many other languages and her ‘magic language’ that I simply use Latin for. Why? Eh, I thought the backwards speech was always kind of stupid. Call me a traditionalist I guess. Motivations: To protect the weak and innocent. To help those in need. To sate her own need for challenges and adventure. To maybe find someone she can hold close, but that isn’t a priority. Finding a companion or familiar that can keep up with her sounds nice and is a priority. Backstory: I don’t think much needs to be said, as I do have an extensive backstory for my Zatanna, mostly her development with her father and mother being out of the picture. She died when giving birth to Zatanna as Homo Magi are an extremely potent race of magical beings. Her call to action began with the suffering in the world and the heinous deaths of others and many left cold and without justice in the world, their stories forever untold or seen closure by their families. Then with so many mysteries and challenges to crack open? Zatanna’s pursuits, actions and personality writes itself in what she stands for and wants as an individual. As I do try to keep the core concept of her character and what she could or could go in a direction as one with the most feasible way of doing things for her.
