The Dragon's Tresses
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Veridian, there lived a princess named Seraphina. She was renowned for her long, flowing brunette hair, which cascaded down her back like a river of silk. Her beauty was unmatched, and her eyes held the secrets of ancient forests.
Veridian was a land of magic, where dragons soared through stormy skies and enchanted castles stood atop craggy peaks. Legends whispered that the castle at the highest peak held the key to ultimate power—a secret guarded by the very stones themselves.
Princess Seraphina was no ordinary royal. She possessed a rare gift: the ability to wield fire magic. Her touch could ignite flames, and her breath held the promise of infernos. But her magic came at a cost—the more she used it, the weaker she became. And so, she kept her powers hidden, fearing the consequences.
One tempestuous night, as lightning split the heavens, Seraphina climbed to the pinnacle of the ancient castle. The wind howled, tugging at her hair, threatening to tear her from the battlements. She gazed out at the storm-churned sea below, her heart heavy with longing.
“Why,” she whispered to the tempest, “am I cursed with this magic?”
The wind carried her words away, but it seemed to answer. “To birth a dragon,” it murmured, “and change the fate of our world.”
Seraphina’s breath caught. “A dragon?” she asked, her voice trembling. “How?”
The wind swirled around her, lifting her hair like a fiery banner. “Your sacrifice,” it whispered. “Your magic. Your love.”
And so, Seraphina made her choice. She drew a dagger from her belt, its blade glinting in the lightning’s glow. With tears streaming down her face, she cut her hair—the very essence of her beauty and power. The strands fell like rain, and she wove them into a nest.
“Fire magic,” she chanted, her voice raw. “Breathe life into this sacrifice.”
She closed her eyes, summoning the flames within her. The nest ignited, flames dancing along the strands. And then, from the heart of the fire, emerged a creature unlike any other—a dragon, its scales shimmering like molten gold.
“My child,” Seraphina whispered, cradling the newborn dragon. “You are my sacrifice, my hope.”
The dragon’s eyes met hers, and she saw wisdom beyond centuries. “I am Draconis,” it said, its voice a rumble like distant thunder. “Born of fire and love.”
Draconis grew swiftly, its wings spanning the castle’s tower. It breathed fire, scorching the storm clouds, and Seraphina reveled in its power. But with each flame, she weakened, her life force fueling the dragon’s magic.
“Why?” she asked Draconis one night, her body frail and fading.
“To save Veridian,” it replied. “To break the curse that binds our land.”
And so, Seraphina poured her love into Draconis, her hair now woven into its scales. As the dragon soared above Veridian, flames trailing behind, the curse shattered. Storms abated, and the ancient castle crumbled, its purpose fulfilled.
Princess Seraphina, her hair now silver threads, watched from her tower as Draconis circled the kingdom. “Remember me,” she whispered to the wind.
And the wind carried her words to the dragon, who roared in reply, flames illuminating the night.
“Always,” Draconis promised. “Forever.”
And so, the beautiful princess and her dragon became legends—a tale of sacrifice, love, and the magic that binds worlds together.
And if you listen closely on stormy nights, you might still hear their whispers in the wind.

Name: Tal Veridian
Pronouns: she/her
Era: Imperial/Rebellion
Appears in: From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back
Tal Veridian was Lando Calrissian's self-proclaimed second-in-command on Cloud City. She was also the lover of Lieutenant Ela Radodan, an Imperial officer, although the two conspired together against the Empire.
Check out Tal's profile video here!
Tal doesn't have a canon appearance. If you'd like to submit fanart for us to use instead, send us a message!
Full profile under the cut:
We all know that Lando Calrissian was the Baron Administrator of Cloud City, but Tal Veridian was his self-proclaimed second-in-command.
Tal appeared in the short story “The Backup Backup Plan” by Anne Toole in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back. She had dark skin and brown eyes, and apparently dressed like a foreign trader. She knew Basic, at least a little of Mando’a, and likely other languages.
We don’t know exactly what Tal’s role on Cloud City was, but we do know that she was a well-known leader and a quick thinker. When the Imperials arrived, Tal was determined to free a ship full of Cloud City miners from being abducted from the Empire. With the help of the mechanics Kiren and Baudu, Tal was able to save the miners – with some extra help from an Imperial officer, that is. Yep, Tal was in a relationship of sorts with the Imperial Lieutenant Ela Radodan, a rebel sympathizer who called Tal – what was it again? Oh, right – “the sexiest rebel scum this side of Corellia.”

hello! happy new year!
i am looking for a fic on ao3 that is set many years post-war/hogwarts. harry had sold grimmauld place years prior to an unknown buyer, which turns out to be draco. draco converted grimmauld place into a wizarding history museum and there is an attack while a children's group is touring it. harry is working as an auror and comes to grimmauld place following the attack, which is when he realizes draco is the current owner. the details along the way are fuzzy but i believe the ending is something like horace slughorn is behind all the attacks because he wants the magical core of the house.
thank you so much!

one for five prompt!
Veers knocked on the door of Veridian's office.
*ominous chanting* ONE FOR FIVE ONE FOR FIVE
I couldn’t decide which direction to go with this, so have two I guess
(Doctor Delia Veridian is my Imperial Therapist OC who I should probably make a profile or something for)
Veers knocked on the door of Veridian’s office. He shifted awkwardly from foot to foot, second-guessing himself as the seconds ticked by. He was just about to leave - it was late, after all, and surely he could handle another sleepless night - when the door slid open.
“General Veers,” Doctor Veridian said, peering at him over her glasses. “What can I do for you?”
“I’m sorry for bothering you so late,” Veers said quietly. “I didn’t know where else to go.”
—
Veers knocked on the door of Veridian’s office. He was surprised to hear shuffling around the small office, followed by a crash and some muffled swearing. There was more shuffling and more swearing, and Veers was just about to leave when the door slid open.
“General Veers!” Doctor Veridian said, tucking a stray red hair back into her messy bun. The doctor looked uncharacteristically disheveled, and Veers couldn’t help but think he had stumbled into something.
“You asked me to complete these forms… is that Captain Pellaeon?”
Thank you for asking!
