dear god... suddenly emo about Magdalena and Isaac 😢😢
#this is funny because i have so little of their relationship defined in comparison to Gioia and Benedictus#but 🥺🤌🏻 thinking about isaac losing his whole family and fighting like hell to get his sister back.. it's so 😭#but once he gets her back she's painfully quiet. always looking over her shoulder. and simmering with anger!#i think he struggles to reconcile the past version of her + her present self. and how to connect with her through all the muck 🤔#OH.... WAIT i figured it out! just like regular bennie and gioi (fun fact. i realized her name doesn't really shorten nicely just now lol)#i think they build that strong underlying connection because isaac invests attention and care into maggie's music. he shows up to all her#recitals ykwim!.. it's a little different from B+G because isaac isn't maggie's stand-in parent for their neglectful parents.#he functionally Is maggie's parent. but I think Maggie still takes away the same love from it as gioia‚ for different but similar reasons.#I think this is so important for her too because it is. Very Difficult for Maggie to make friends because she's so shaken up..#i feel like bennie would try to get her to go therapy but she'd either refuse on the basis of not trusting authority anymore? OR‚ just like#kat‚ they'd tell her her experiences weren't real... in any case‚ music is maggie's Only outlet. so isaac taking interest and supporting#her in that endeavor‚ when she has very little else‚ would mean a lot to her. i think this all adds a level of 😢 to isaac and vergil's#relationship too because. originally isaac just didn't like vergil due to the whole underground rebellion schtick. that's what got his and#maggie's parents killed. BUT since Magdalena literally had no friends once she came home‚ I think Isaac is really overjoyed when she and#vergil strike up a friendship‚ since this is before Vergil's realized his true nature- the order is a collaborative thing between the two#of them after all. so at first Isaac is glad that his sister finally has a friend. and‚ just like in their future‚ Vergil helps Magdalena#grow into herself and come out of her shell. so isaac likes Vergil in the beginning‚ is grateful for him! plus V's his bosses/sponsor's kid#so there's a nice little 😊 there too. BUT THEN magdalena starts helping vergil remember things - dante - and they start#creating the Order‚ and i think Isaac feels this Great Dread. because vergil is maggie's only friend. vergil saved her!#but the things magdalena gets up to with vergil will get them killed in the future. (and it does lol!)#i think this is where the great split happens between B+G and I+M‚ because Benedictus disappeared before he had to make any Tough Parenting#Choices with Gioia. he was functionally a parent to her‚ but she just saw him as her Super Cool Older Brother.#Isaac is magdalena's older brother but he's also her Guardian (derogatory) ykwim? so. i think when he puts his foot down and tries to#forbid Magdalena from doing anti-demon stuff‚ which evolves into her not being allowed to see Vergil‚ it causes a rift between them.#i'm not sure how severe i want the rift to be... 🙁 by the start of the game it can't be super deep because kat has to be familiar with#isaac 🤪 but then ig he doesn't need to know Magdalena knows her Because of the Order? kat could just be... a friend... 😳🤫#although this then begs the question of whether or not he even knows Magdalena was still involved with the Order all this time? because on#the surface Maggie's schedule really is just work work work. he doesn't have to know What her work is...#that also adds a ☹️ when Magdalena goesmissingdies and then comes back possessed by a demon because it's like groundhog day for him- again‚#he could do nothing to protect his sister from the demons BUT this time it was him raising and watching her‚ not their parents

Headcanons for the Sparda lads and V getting massages from their s/o? Assuming they'd want one/would be comfortable with it, I mean.
Absolutely, here you go! 💜
Sparda boys + V x Reader massage headcannons
¤ Dante ¤
-Is very, very stiff after years of fighting demons, doing crazy aerial acrobatics, getting stabbed in the chest, and falling asleep almost every night in his wooden office chair.
-Was a little shocked when you offered to give him a massage because no one had ever suggested something like that. Ever.
-His muscles were kinda sore though, so he agreed and hopped onto his bed, stomach down.
-The moment you started kneading his back, he heard so many cracks. It was like years of stress, trauma, both physical and mental, tension and pain was being popped and squeezed right out of him. It was such a good, relieving sensation.
-He soon melted into it, enjoying every second of your masterful mashing of his muscles with delighted little "Oh"s and "Ah"s.
-When you were finished, he found himself to be twice as flexible as before; the discomfort of a million battles finally gone. He'll definitely be coming back for a round two in the near future.
■ Vergil ■
-Does not like being touched by most people for whatever reason. He is constantly paranoid and afraid that he will be attacked if he lets someone touch him.
-However, you're a different story. He knows you wouldn't do anything to hurt him and that he could trust you, so he agrees to your offer of a massage, with some half-hearted grumbling.
-He wasn't sure what to expect from this "massage", but it certainly wasn't what he got. The moment you set to work on his taut, tense, rock-hard muscles, he felt himself instantly relax. He even let out a soft little moan.
-Vergil enjoyed the massage a lot more than he ever expected to. The sensation of having someone press down on your tense areas without murderous intentions was pure bliss.
-When you announced that you were finished with the massage, he whined. Yes, he genuinely, actually, unmistakbly whined. You thought he would request a continuation, but no. He simply stood up, stretched, and slipped his jacket back on.
-Massages are now a nightly tradition between the two of you. He even goes out and gets different lotions and oils for you to experiment with.
□ Nero □
-Nero has never had a massage in his life, nor has he ever wanted one. He didn't dislike the notion of you giving him a massage, nor did he like it. He simply accepted it to make you happy.
-Turns out massages are way better than he could have ever imagined! He just can't get over how it seems to make all his stiffness melt away.
-Now he wants you to massage his legs, arms, shoulders, and neck too--oh, and also the rest of his body.
-At one point he fell asleep while you were massaging him, proving one of two things: Either A, he's very, very, tired, or B, he's just that relaxed.
-Getting massages from you is now the number one thing Nero looks forward to when he comes home from missions.
-Sometimes he has Nico put together a new, vibrating attachment for his arm--which he will then give to you so you can have a helping hand.
● V ●
-V has never heard of a massage and therefore has no idea what it is.
-After Googling it, he deduces that such an activity would benefit him, and that he would be wise to take up your offer.
-And so he does; while the sensations are an entirely new experience for him, he finds them very enjoyable. In fact, they're so helpful in mitigating his stress, he should write a poem about them.
-V loves to have you massage his legs because they're so weary from traveling and supporting his lanky frame all day long.
-Also, he can read while you massage his legs, which makes it all the more comforting.
-Massages are now one of his top stress-relievers, other than cuddling with Shadow, that is.

Dante x reader, slight platonic Vergil x reader
Word Count: 1013
A/N: a lot of feels about my relationship with the only parent i have rn and it was crippling, so i'd hoped by writing this, i could… idk, get some of it out. also unedited, but i think i did okay. please enjoy! and be comforted if it is needed by you. <3
Warnings: use of the word 'fuck' once, 'damn' once, descriptions of panic attacks, crying, and then being comforted by Dante (and briefly by Vergil) bc i have a mighty need to be cradled right about now. dante also calls reader 'baby', 'darling', and 'sweetheart' requests are open, as well :D
─────────────────⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅─────────────────
The shatter of glass made my arms raise up above my head in shock. Bracing for what I knew, logically, wouldn't come, I sigh shakily. I will my arms down. I look down, only to see the shattered remnants of one of Vergil's favourite teacups. Hot tears kiss my eyelashes, before falling, crashing down like a wave. I, like the teacup, shatter.
I collapse, just barely missing the shards in front of me, the hot tea soaking into the material of my pants. I've bruised my knees- I can tell by the way they ache and the loudness of my *thunk* as I hit the floor. Gentle hands go to grab at me to comfort me, but I flinch. Stupid, stupid- I'm muttering, aren't I? A voice trails in, strong arms scooping me up, a nose being buried into my hair. I just keep crying. I don't even know who's picked me up. Was I in trouble? Am I in trouble...? I didn't mean to, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I-
"You're not in trouble, jesus, I promise. I'm worried about you, that's all. You damn near cracked the floor when you fell." Dante's voice curls through my hateful thoughts right as he opens the door to his room with his boot. He refuses to let me go. He sets me gently on his bed. "Okay, baby, what's wrong? I've never seen you like this before. Tell me what's up, sweetheart, I'm worried like hell." His voice is nearly frantic and his brows are furrowed where he sits in front of me, hands holding mine comfortingly. I didn't know I had said any of my thoughts out loud. I try to croak out a response despite the lump in my throat.
It comes out hoarse. "I'm so sorry I broke it, Vergil's gonna hate me, it was one of his favourite sets, I'm so terrible, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to-" My voice spills like a pouring cup and Dante hushes me, drawing himself up just far enough to lean down and rest his forehead to mine. Warm. Dante was always so warm. He frees one hand to rub at my cheeks, only to feel my now-empty hand grasp frantically at his.
His hand links back into mine, tightening his fingers around my smaller ones. "Okay, okay, it's okay. Darling, he's not upset, he's not gonna hate you. In fact, he's worried sick about you. I asked if he'd clean up the accident, and then he could check on you. He wants to make sure you're okay, he really isn't worried about a silly teacup, even if it was one of his favourite sets. He's not upset and I'm not either. And we're sure as fuck not gonna hit you, okay?" He kisses my forehead gently, then he walks away momentarily, going to his bathroom.
He calls out. "Hey, sweetheart, could you take off your jeans for me? I've gotta make sure your knees are okay." I nod, despite him being unable to see me, and shuffle out of my tea-soaked pants. I would put them in the hamper in the corner, but I can hardly move my legs properly. He walks out and smiles softly, before kneeling before me again. A warm, damp washcloth drags against the skin of my knees and Dante's eyes darken when he sees the already-bruised flesh.
He cleans me gently, before putting antibiotic ointment on my knees and putting large bandaids over both. I sniffle and rub at my tired eyes. He looks up at me and then moves to put the washcloth back in the bathroom and tosses me pants into his hamper. Dante walks to his closet before pulling out one of his big sweaters- a green one, knitted and warm- and he walks back to me, slipping the garment over me. He kneels far enough to place kisses on my bandaged knees.
I tear up again, Dante's soft hands coming to wipe them away. He kisses my nose and picks me back up, lays on the bed, and cradles me in his arms as he covers us both up. "I don't know what's wrong, but I do know you and I know you don't like talking about your family much. Or your childhood. And that's okay. I will NEVER do what they might've done to you and I can promise Verge won't either. Nero for damn sure won't. We all care about you too much. So for now, you try to get some sleep and if you want me to, I can wake you once Vergil comes up. Sound good, sweetheart?" He says, tucking me into him and curling his thick comforter around me. I nod into his chest. His hand comes up to gently pull the sleeves of his sweater over my knuckles.
He smiled softly, before pressing a few sweet, worried kisses on my head. "Alright, I'll do that then. Just promise me you'll try to get a bit of sleep, yeah?" He continues, before pausing. He speaks up again. "I love you, sweetheart. Don't forget that. Now sleep, okay? Nero should be on his way home with stuff for dinner. I love you. So, so, so much." As he finishes, he presses more and more kisses into my hair and I sigh softly as I melt into him and his warmth. He was always so good to me.
As I drift off, I hear the door open and hear a muted conversation and soft voices I knew so well. They only serve to help me drift off farther.
I hear a few bits of the exchange as my mind finally begins to fade off fully and I smile softly as I feel Vergil's weight next to me on the bed. I feel his hand running gingerly through my hair.
"Are they alright, Dante?"
"I don't know. But they're always gonna be safe with us. And thanks for cleaning it."
"No trouble at all, brother. And yes, we will always keep them safe. They are our home."
"Yes they are, brother mine."

Limits of Propaganda in the Augustan Regime
I saw a neat post earlier about how Augustus used propaganda to justify his control of Rome and establish permanent one-man rule. It got me thinking about what we picture when we say "propaganda," how Roman propaganda differed from modern propaganda, and how we talk about the interactions between governments and their people.
Augustus' cult of personality has some parallels with monarchist propaganda in early modern Europe, and with authoritarian governments today. But there were also major differences that I think we need to remember, or else we may wrongly project modern assumptions onto the past. In particular, I think the predominance, effectiveness, and superficiality of Augustan propaganda are often overstated. And I think this distortion reinforces a classist bias in our perception of the people of Rome, a bias that contributes to the erasure of ordinary people's contributions to history.
This isn't a formal essay, and I'm not a historian. I may have misremembered some things. But, if you'd like to hear me ramble...
How powerful was Augustan propaganda in shaping people's views of the government?
The word "propaganda" was popularized in the 20th century, in association with mass communication. Modern governments can ensure their propaganda is seen by millions of people at once, and restrict access to opposing viewpoints. Massive amounts of money, equipment, and professional teams are employed to spread these messages.
The only mass media in Augustan Rome were coins, which Augustus could only put very limited text and images on. He erected numerous monuments, but those are limited to a few paragraphs at most, and only to the people who visit them. He could patronize writers and poets like Livy and Vergil, but even they lacked the reach of television, radio or the internet. And all of these methods would have been far more expensive than the mass media of today.
Augustus' propaganda wasn't novel. Roman leaders had been stamping their messages onto coins, monuments, writing memoirs and hiring poets for centuries. Throughout his reign people still would have seen coins and monuments from the republican period, and read the works of Cicero, Brutus, and other republican leaders. In the same way most people today have learned not to trust everything they see on TV, most Romans would have known not to believe everything they saw on monuments, coins, or in state pronouncements.
Nor was Augustus able to limit the spread of contrary narratives like modern dictators can. The Roman government was extremely barebones by today's standards, lacking the bureaucracy and resources to surveil the population. Most Romans didn't get their news from public announcements, state-sponsored art, or politicians' books, but from gossip, letters, and their own information networks.
Over half of all male Romans traveled abroad at some point in this period (Mary Beard, SPQR, ch. 5). They had many different viewpoints available, and other sources of information about what was happening in the provinces. Augustus thus could only bend the narrative to his benefit so far. When several legions were annihilated in Teutoburg Forest in 9 CE, he didn't even try to cover it up; people would've called him on it.
Augustus had more control over how he presented himself and his family to the public than over the narrative of tangible events in the world. Thus most of his propaganda either focuses on shaping his image of himself, his family, or on the personal character of Antony and Cleopatra instead of events Romans could verify or disprove.
But he couldn't stop information from leaking, family scandals from happening, or rumors from spreading. He exiled his daughter Julia, in part for her extramarital affairs, but also because the notoriety of the scandal undermined the squeaky-clean "Roman family values" image he intended for his family to present. When he sent Agrippa to govern the eastern provinces, rumors abounded that some rift had formed between the two. Whether or not such a rift actually happened, the fact that the rumor existed, and survived for 150 years into Suetonius' era, shows how limited Augustus' control of public perception actually was.
How independent were Roman citizens, soldiers, and senators?
These are three very distinct groups that behaved in different ways. Let's start with the general public.
The Roman People
The evidence is clear: we know people organized public protests and petitions throughout Augustus' reign, and even spoiled elections sometimes by voting for the "wrong" candidates.
A group of women took over the forum to protest his tax hike in 42 BCE, despite a wave of proscriptions. He was nearly stoned to death by an angry mob in 39 BCE. The Romans repeatedly petitioned for Julia's freedom, and as late as 9 CE we hear of protests against his marriage laws.
Why did the public express themselves so freely? Well, for one thing, Augustus chose not to suppress popular demonstrations. In fact, he seems to have used the semblance of "free speech" as a tool to deflect accusations of tyranny. By cultivating an image of himself as a moderate who permitted public dissent, he made his political dominance appear less authoritarian and more palatable to the people of Rome.
Augustus probably also thought it was impossible to control what people said, so didn't bother to try. In one of his letters to Tiberius, Augustus says as much:
Tumblr media
Suetonius, Augustus, 51
Another big factor was that many public protests tried to persuade him to take on more power. They repeatedly demanded that he take up the dictatorship, or tried to elect him consul when he wasn't running. And no, this doesn't seem to have been the "fake elections" you see in modern dictatorships. The reason is that people's trust in the Senate's competence had collapsed, so when national crises arose like famines, plagues, or debt problems, they tried to make Augustus take back the reins, instead of sharing the power with the Senate as he pretended he was doing.
Which brings us to Augustus' bizarre relationship the Senate.
The Senatorial Class
How independent were the senators? Suetonius gives us a raucous picture:
Tumblr media
Augustus also reintroduced competitive elections. Not free, really - everyone knew Augustus' power far outweighed the consuls and praetors. But we do have records of candidates attempting to bribe voters and slinging accusations at their opponents, similar to republican times. This was another way that Augustus tried to distance himself from the dictatorships of Caesar and Sulla, and make his authority palatable to people who valued republican liberty.
He also collaborated with senators behind the scenes, and selected some of them as advisors and proxies for introducing legislation. Augustus' rule was negotiated in a series of settlements, public and private, with the same class of people who had killed Julius Caesar for threatening their place in the public order.
Augustus needed the aristocracy's skills, education, and resources to administer the empire. He also needed to placate them enough to avoid getting the Ides of March Special. They, in turn, needed a way to maintain their dignitas and roles in government, which had traditionally been conferred by elections. By permitting elections, incorporating senators into policy-making behind the scenes, and giving them the outward appearance and status of their old authority, Augustus satisfied them enough to stabilize his rule.
However, the value of elections, and of being in the Senate, clearly declined over time. In the second half of his reign senatorial attendance declined so sharply Augustus introduced penalties for senators not showing up to "work." Eventually elections for the high magistracies were phased out, and the Senate was allowed to elect consuls from among themselves. This was actually popular with senators, since it spared them the expense of campaigning.
And although Augustus did permit senators' input into his government, his control steadily increased over time. Part of this was official, as re-settlements granted him additional powers. And part of it was de facto, as he simply outlived everyone who had experience managing the government. Augustus' longevity, experience, and informal network of advisors effectively made his household the hub of government policy. (His nepotistic habit of giving his relatives the most important jobs also contributed.) Meanwhile, the Senate had a sort of "brain drain" effect as a new generation of senators grew up without the experience of running the state themselves.
By the ascension of Tiberius in 14 CE, senatorial autonomy was dead. Even when Tiberius attempted to step back from government and encouraged the senators to state their own opinions, this only resulted in paralysis. He could not replicate the personal, unofficial relationships Augustus had developed to govern without appearing "tyrannical," and tension between the Senate and emperors would plague Rome for another 200 years.
The Military
Although Augustus took pains to disguise it, we should never forget that he was a military dictator. His power came first and foremost from the loyalty of the army, and their loyalty depended on getting paid. The last great threat to his rule wasn't Antony or Cleopatra, but a huge mutiny in Italy after the Battle of Actium. If he hadn't annexed Egypt and distributed its riches to his troops, there's a high chance he would have been overthrown.
Augustus also needed to convince the legions and public of his military ability, and thus that Rome was safe under his rule. He was not a gifted commander, but he was usually good at selecting them, most notably in Marcus Agrippa, Drusus, Tiberius, and Germanicus. On the other hand, the catastrophic loss of several legions in Teutoburg Forest seriously frightened him. He feared a loss of public confidence, and thus rebellions and political rivals, and quickly sent Drusus and Tiberius with their armies to retaliate.
Augustus established a permanent army to guard the entire empire, which strained the empire's budget to its limit. He managed to pay for it all, barely. Later emperors would repeatedly run into mutinies and even be overthrown by troops who weren't satisfied with their wages.
Augustus' reign was a difficult balancing act between the needs of many competing interest groups, especially early on. After multiple civil wars, the state was poor, the people were exhausted and traumatized, the Senate and citizens feared each other, Romans opposed provincials, soldiers opposed civilians - it was a mess. It's hard to describe the damage to Rome's social and economic infrastructure.
Perhaps the greatest achievement of Augustus' reign was that he managed to navigate between all of these groups, get each of them to trust him to look out for their interests, and gave Roman society enough time to knit itself back together. To win that trust, he couldn't rely on bribes and propaganda alone. He had to prove it through action.
Augustan propaganda had to be justified through tangible benefits, not mere words and imagery.
The word "propaganda" is usually used to refer to rhetoric, advertisements, and manipulation. It connotes hollowness and subterfuge. But Augustus did not trick people into liking him by just hiring the right poets and erecting statues. His most effective propaganda was demonstrated through public renovations and the assurance of public order.
The bar wasn't high to clear. We have to remember that Augustus wasn't a dictator replacing a functioning republic; he was introducing a stable government with competitive (but not free) elections after 20 years of civil war, and another ten years of political violence before that. Peace alone was a major reason why people accepted his rule.
The quality of life for both Romans and provincials mostly improved during his reign, too. From Marcus Agrippa fixing the sewer system and providing the entire city with clean water, to Rome's first permanent fire brigade, to increased economic mobility, to safer long-distance travel, to stabilizing the grain supply, even down to individual tax disputes and court cases Augustus encountered while touring the provinces. The Romans would also have seen Augustus' military victories as a form of public service, a way of enriching the empire and restoring national pride. (And they were officially his victories, since he remained the commanding officer, even if the campaigns were masterminded by Agrippa or another subordinate.)
I think that history books sometimes frame Augustan propaganda as a sort of trick to make the populace accept one-man rule. But you can't really separate the effects of his propaganda from his demonstrable actions that most Romans approved of. The Romans were not simpletons, and they weren't afraid to express their anger with him violently. (Even with the Praetorian Guard present: a mob attacked him and his soldiers in 39 BCE.) Augustus was testing out a fragile and experimental form of government, and had give people results.
That said, we should not attribute the benefits of Augustus' rule to autocracy. We certainly shouldn't use it to justify authoritarianism, as many fascists have attempted. Augustus' government was better than an ongoing civil war; that does not mean it was better than a democracy. And the downsides of autocracy rapidly took effect after his death: first in Tiberius, who initiated the first purges since 42 BCE; then with Caligula, who was...well, Caligula.
If anything, I think Augustus' reign shows how goddamn hard it is to kill people's desire for liberty and their voice in government. If we overlook the protests, the riots, and the constant need for the princeps to justify his regime with military and domestic success, then we erase the input of the common people. And that contributes to a classist view of history in which only rich, powerful men can make meaningful contributions.
Augustus used propaganda, absolutely. But the Roman people were not satisfied with pretty words and images. They paid attention to what the state was doing, they expected it to serve, feed, and protect them, and they even intervened in issues like Julia's exile that didn't personally affect them.
Perhaps we should give them a little more credit.

DMC HEADCANNON TIMEEE 2
Have fun!
☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆▪︎☆
• Dante is Aromantic, and going off of that
• Dante and Lady dated for a brief period when they were 20~ish for a month but they soon broke up, Dante realised he was Aromantic and Lady realised she was a lesbian. It was really awkward and they don't talk about it.
• (also Demisexual Vergil fight me)
• Nero's the type of guy to crush a can of cola in his hand when he's angry
• He would never actively admit it, but Vergil instantly bonded to Nero, even if Nero himself didn't bond with Vergil. It's probably to do with some weird demon biology thing, as Vergil tries to show He cares in odd ways like offering to clean Nero's weapons (making sure the demon spawn can protect itself) or staring at him from across the room (monitoring the demon spawn to assure its survival). It freaks Nero out as he doesnt know what's going on.
• Nico plays pranks on Nero and Kyrie that border on being illegal
• Trish and Vergil kind of have an unspoken bond/connection (?). Like demon to demon communication especially after the V and Trish talk
• Vergil moved into Devil May Cry without asking Dante after dmc5 and claimed a couch and a portion of the office as his. Dante won't admit that he doesn't mind.
• Also about vergil, When Patty came to Devil May Cry after the events of dmc5, she yelled at Dante for an hour for missing her birthday among other things. Vergil thought it was hilarious but he stayed quiet the whole time as usual.
• Nero roughhouses with the kids at the orphanage, and he always tries to stay gentle, but those kids man... they're out for blood. One time Nero ended up with a huge gash over his eyebrow that surprisingly left a scar.
+ plus scent choices!!!
• Lady likes Versace perfume or light floral scents. Don't know how to explain this one
• Trish likes deeper, more musky scents. For example Kyoto in Bloom by glasshouse fragrances (my signature scent lol). She also smells of this hair oil my mum uses. Very nice ^^
• Vergil likes cool, crisp scents, but not very masculine ones. More androgynous or feminine. Otherwise he smells like old books, like the old sci-fi books my dad gave me
• Nero likes cheap cologne, anything to cover up the blood smell that seems to hang around as to not scare the kids
• Kyrie likes either light, sweet scents or deep, stormy scents. She tends to lean to more deep scents.
• Dante smells like pizza grease and Lynx Africa All the time (go argue with a wall) but if he had to choose he would probably smell like roses or something with sandalwood. Heavy scents.

puts my hand on your shoulder. i am a simple woman i just want to be spitroasted by dante and vergil thank u
BRO ME TOO??!!!! TF 💦💦 im thirsting down here dont mind me eheh
tbh i want em to good cop bad cop me >:) Vergil being rough and spitting on your clit to rub it in and get you wet cause he knows he's big and it's gonna hurt if he doesn't stretch you, but he doesn't wanna be too soft either so he's just all about the manhandling. n then he finally slips it in and eases you down but it's still rough, you still can't quite fit him all the way, and Dante just kinda shows up suddenly cause he was wondering where his pretty little assistant ran off to and he heard some questionable sounds coming from over here. oh, you're fucking big, bad Vergil, huh? need help?
and that shit-eating smirk as Vergil huffs because he got to you first and he doesn't wanna share his prize and Dante brushes it off, gets in front of you and rubs your chin like he's petting a kitty all while you're struggling and squirming on Vergil's cock. once you're a little calmer he tugs his own out and taps the tip against your lips, smears em with a little precum to wet them before he eases your mouth open to take him in and strokes your hair as he fills you all the way up. now you're stuffed at both ends, the twins are biting back at each other and arguing although it's mostly Vergil being possessive and Dante being playful cause he's so confident that once you try them both you'll pick him over his twin. but once he starts thrusting back to reach that coveted softness of your throat, Vergil continues doing the same to hit as far as he can reach into your womb--and now, with two unstoppable forces on each side, you have to cling to Dante's pants and feel your ankles tremble as they ghost past Vergil's thighs, as they both pop right in and completely impale you, reaching depths you didn't think were possible that completely claim every inch of you that you thought would go untouched. it hurts a healthy amount and it's definitely gonna leave you sore but your face gets held and your legs get rubbed as they comfort you in a loud and quiet way respectively, both of them silently trying to appeal to you before they fuck you completely raw--you may not have to choose right away, but you're gonna have to make your decision at some point, before one or the other either knocks you up or beats the other into oblivion for your affection.

DMC Questions Anon here!
What do you think the DMC characters (any you want) think about the idea of fate and destiny?
Hello again!
Well, Vergil and Dante are probably convinced their destiny is to fight each other to the (near) death. Pre-DMC5 ending, of course. Post-DMC5, they're just dumbass twin brothers, and picking at each other, as they should be. Especially since they didn't care if either of them died while fighting. Their lives shifted from needing to stop the other to trying to one-up the other while fighting demons.
While Nero probably looks both ways on a one-way road and hides under a blanket on Friday the 13th.
As short as his time was, we all know V thought his destiny was to defeat Urizen and recreate Vergil. Though, unknown to him, he probably saved Vergil's life by making him realize his humanity wasn't his weakness, and by making him at peace with his past so he and Dante could actually have a decent sibling relationship. And, of course, bonding with Nero.

Family is an important theme in every DMC game. Dante and Vergil are always grappling with Sparda and Eva's legacy, and now Nero has to deal with Dante and Vergil's baggage. It seems DMC characters tend to have complicated relationships with their parents, and the supporting characters are no exception.
Lady is an obvious example. She became a devil hunter in DMC3 because her father, Arkham, murdered her mother in a bid for demonic power. Near the end of the game, Lady kills Arkham, which a line in DMC5 suggests has weighed heavily on her since. On the note of family, an ancestor of Lady's happened to be a priestess who aided Sparda in a ritual to seal away the demon world.
Side note, I've been told it's canon that this ritual killed her, but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Sparda didn't have to give a lethal amount of blood for the sake of the ritual, and Lady didn't give a lethal amount of blood to break it. Neither did Dante or Vergil, for that matter. It means little either way, the sacrifice was almost certainly willing, and she'd be long dead by the present anyway, but it still bugs me a little.
Trish doesn't really have parents in the traditional sense, but she was created by someone: Mundus. But Mundus saw her as expendable, easily recreated, little more than a tool to lure Dante to his death. Ultimately, Trish aided Dante in defeating him, and she became a devil hunter herself.
Trish was also made in the image of Dante's mother, Eva. While Trish never met the woman, it's an undeniable fact that Trish wouldn't exist in the same capacity without her - one could also consider her to be a parent to Trish, or at least like some kind of magical sperm donor.
Wether you choose to look at it that way or not, Trish has definitely endured both Dante and Vergil (as V) projecting their feelings about Eva onto her, though the former seems to have gotten over that, and the latter hasn't interacted with her much at all. Despite this, Trish continues using Eva's face, even though she can change her appearance.
On the subject of Dante, one could assume that she was adopted into his family in some way, given that she was trusted to wield Sparda's sword and his pistols. She carries his legacy just as much as Dante does, even though she doesn't share his blood.
Lucia, like Trish, was artificially made, in her case by a human sorcerer named Arius. Mundus only remarked that he could easily recreate Trish, but Arius actually proved it - Lucia is one of many "secretary" demons, and a defective one at that. She was discarded by Arius, and adopted by Matier, who raised Lucia as her own daughter. Later, Matier directly states that Lucia being adopted doesn't diminish their relationship, and that shared history is more important than blood.
Learning of her true nature was disastrous for Lucia: believing she would eventually become a threat to innocent people, she attacked Dante and demanded that he kill her. She later volunteers for a suicide mission because she sees herself as "expendable". I'm not aware that she ever came to terms with these feelings, and I wonder what would become of her if she no longer had Matier to support her.
I suspect that Nero and Kyrie's dynamic - as it's been said, Nero wouldn't be so well-adjusted without her - would be relatable to Lucia.
Moving on from characters who've been playable (so far), Nico's parentage is extremely important. Her father is Agnus, a scientist who created many kinds of artificial demons for the Order of the Sword, even becoming one himself. Agnus abandoned Nico at an early age, and when her mother died, she was adopted by her uncle, Rock Goldstein, who happens to be the son of Nell Goldstein, the gunsmith who made Ebony and Ivory. Nico became a gunsmith herself, and later used her biological father's research for the benefit of a devil hunter, Nero.
Finally, Kyrie's parents were killed before the events of DMC4, so the only family she had left was her brother Credo. In that game, Credo turns out to have become a demon, and to be involved in a plot by her religious organization to open hell gates in Fortuna to draw out and destroy demons (or something). Once Kyrie is used as bait to capture Nero, Credo turns on his superiors, and is promptly killed for it. Suffice to say, Kyrie must have some very complicated feelings about her family, as well as her religion, but such feelings haven't been made known.
It's also worth noting that Kyrie, along with Nero, has taken in three children - Kyle, Carlo, and Julio - further continuing the theme of adopted family.
With the exception of Lady, all of the characters above have some relationship with an adopted or chosen family. With the exception of Lady and Kyrie, all of them have had apathetic father figures who abandoned, discarded, or used them.
So if we ever get that female-led spinoff game (and it's actually any good), then family should be a major theme. But unlike the main series, this entry should have an additional emphasis on chosen families. And whatever tangible threat the cast faces, it should be one that can be a vehicle to explore those themes.

Hello, there! Hope you are having a nice day!
May I request a Dante, Vergil and V fic/headcannons developing a crush on an evil, cunning, cold and manipulative reader?
DANTE Dante will obviously not understand why he is doing this. What did you attract in him? Manipulation and coldness, in his opinion, is a common description of his twin brother.
So why exactly did you steal his heart so cruelly? He won't have an answer.
He would probably deny his feelings for you to the last, until one day you had a fight and he told you about his feelings.
VERGIL - How could this even happen? - Vergil asked himself, pretending that he was reading a book, while you, with an ideal gait to the smallest detail, walked confidently about your business.
He needs strength. And not just the power that he has been looking for almost his entire life, but the power that could make him … forget about it. You will never treat him with love, never fill his lonely soul with your warmth. You didn't care about him. So why exactly did he like you?
How many books he did not read about this, he could not understand what he found in you so that …. he liked you. Could it be that you are cold and impeccable? Always confident in yourself? He roughly realized that he could.
Your resistance to weakness.
Vergil hates weakness. And you are not a weak person. Yes, you do not care about the actions of the son of Sparda, and this is what attracts him.
V Acts like Vergil. (Ironically, that's his human side.)
Only he does not understand the concept of feelings at all, and how he treats you. He doesn't want to completely ignore you, but he doesn't feel comfortable talking to you either. You answer him coldly and rather abruptly, and when you needed something, you manipulated someone to your goal.
So why?
He composes poems that he would like to give to you, if you care about a person who could not do anything without a cane and his assistants.

Heyy
How would Dante, Vergil and V react if their s/o got diagnosed with aspd?
I can actually relate to this, believe it or not. Enjoy. 💜
Sparda Boys + V x Reader with ASPD (antisocial personality disorder) headcannons
¤ Dante ¤
Tumblr media
-He noticed you were very avoiding of people and initially assumed you to be introverted and shy--until he brought you along on a job where you saw some suffering people and smiled. It was then when he began to wonder if this was more than just introversion.
-After your diagnosis came in, Dante wasn't all to surprised to learn you had antisocial personality disorder, seeing as he kinda suspected all along, but started to fear how your relationship would change because of this. If you didn't like people, did that mean you wouldn't like him?
-He was a little bothered by it, but quickly got over it and decided that if you won't take the initiative to socialize, then he will.
-He tries to engage in conversation with you as much as possible, yet is mindful of your boundaries. If you start to visibly get uncomfortable or anxious, he'll pipe down, press a kiss to your cheek, tell you it's OK and leave the room.
-If you want him to stay, he will. He'll sit next to you or across from you and flip through his magazine, just basking in your presence.
-However, if you are interested in going out there and attempting to get over your aspd (good for you!) Then Dante will put his extroverted ass to work and bring you to parties/gatherings/whatever so you can mingle. As stated before, he respects your boundaries, and will make sure everyone else respects them too.
-If you have manipulative tendencies, Dante can and will resist them. Such behavior is unhealthy and he will not allow it to continue.
□ Vergil □
Tumblr media
-Vergil didn't think much about your antisocial tendancies; if anything, he found it to be something the two of you had in common.
-Once he learned of your official diagnosis, he nearly fainted. No, it wasn't because he was afraid your relationship would take a turn for the worse, it was because he was ecstatic to finally have someone he could relate to.
-He doesn't care that you can be a little insensitive sometimes, because he is too. You guys don't fight often, and if you do, things either blow over within a few days, or someone forces you two to talk things out.
-You two are best friends now--no, more than that--soulmates. You hang out together all the time, never really speaking a word to each other, just chilling. Literally chilling.
-Sometimes you sit in matching plastic chairs outside, sipping drinks and silently, casually, judging everyone who walks by.
-Loves to read with you, too. It may seem uncomfortable to passerbys, as you're just quietly sitting together, your noses buried in books, but you two are actually more comfortable than you've ever been in your lives.
-Vergil will never push you to socialize with others, nor will he try to take that initiative himself. He's all you need and you're all he needs.
○ Nero ○
Tumblr media
-Nero noticed you despised socializing and generally being around people, so he decided to talk to you about it. After a long, long chat, he arranged for you to visit a specialist, who diagnosed you with antisocial personality disorder.
-He was a little worried on the inside, as he genuinely cares about you, but decided to not say anything and just support you in any way he could.
-He encourages you to go out and do things, but also doesn't mind spending a quiet night in, just cuddling and watching movies.
-He will protect you from Dante and Nico annoying extroverts and help you get out of uncomfortable conversations if such a situation arises.
-He understands you can be a little insensitive and does his best to not take it personally.
-He loves you, all of you, even if you are a little cold sometimes.
• V •
Tumblr media
-After receiving news of your diagnosis, V decides to embark on an educational journey. He reads tome after tome after tome and scours Wikipedia for information on your condition.
-He understands that manipulative, sadistic tendencies are common in patients with ASPD, and that that kind of behavior can lead to unhealthy relationships. Therefore, he decides he will support you however you need him to, from correcting your behavior to helping you initiate conversations.
-Griffon is a huge help here; his loud mouth cracks a lot of funny jokes you can't help but reply to.
-Shadow is also great for emotional support, should you need it; the big ol fluffy cat is perfect for cuddles.
-He won't pressure you into interacting with other people because secretly, he loves being the only person (not counting his familiars) you ever really talk to.
-Most days, V will read to you and may even write poems for you, which he will then read aloud. Then he'll just wander around the house doing stuff, preferably with you.

Well it took me like a month almost on this?
Some of my followers know him. Some may not. He's my Devil May Cry OC in short.
More text under the cut.
To put his story as short as possible. He is a cult survivor. A cult called Messengers of Holy Light, who worship Mundus - at least on the outside and according to unsuspecting human cult members. Their leader is Lilith - Mundus trusted general - with thousands of years of experience with humans.
The cult's purpose was to rebuild Mundus' army by either manipulating humans into joining the cult or kidnapping them. The end result was always the same - humans were undergoing rituals turning them into demons with Mundus power. A bit special demons - their human souls allow them conquer Human World without losing too much power compared to born demons, who get weaker outside of Hell. But they have no memories of their human selves.
But what Michael is? His case is not the desired one. Ritual "failed" (from demon perspective) and made him become an artificial half-demon. He kept all his memories, personality. Basically the same guy but now juiced up with all that Mundus power. He had no idea about demons existence prior to anything of that.
He was confused. He was scared. He managed to escape, run, with these new powers. Demons of the cult didn't chase him down - as in all failed cases humans eventually died (that was the ritual's design) - killed by the demonic power in them. For Michael it didn't end that way. He survived. Demonic power caused its side effects whenever he used it but he always recovered, no matter how badly it went.
He was found almost freezing to death by a retired devil hunter lady, who went by Minerva as her alias. She taught him everything she could to be a succesful devil hunter himself.
Michael felt that demonic power can take away his humanity. He wanted to be accepted by his family (when he finds them ever again) and human society. So as a devil hunter he made up some lies about himself and didn't explore his abilities at all for quite a long time (until a certain moment). Michael is too good at detecting demons, so he told everyone he is a psychic. His wounds heal too quickly but even then he was ready to lie about it.
Despite being seen as a rather strange fellow causing various reactions, his "psychic" abilities make him to be the first guy recommended to solve odd paranormal activities. Even if his lack of scars and young age make some people believe he is still new to being a devil hunter. There were times he heard skeptical comments told right into his face.
Eventually his path crosses with the known trio - Dante, Vergil and Nero. As a new strange crisis arises... Certainly not tied to that strange Mundus cult and doesn't force everyone to go through their own character developement... Michael's being good old self-acceptance of what he cannot change - what the cult's ritual did to him - and embracing it.

DMC random thoughts and headcanons in no particular order:
(incest shippers - I will Real Impact you on sight, Go Away; DMC is exclusively a gen (except Nero/Kyrie) family drama to me)
- I kind of wish there had been more of a '5 plot except Dante doesn't wake up and Vergil has to decide between power and the life of his brother' AU going on around here. I had a post written about it, but basically I think Nero himself is more than enough to give Vergil's emotional constipation some cracks, and then the ball gets rolling
- More Cerberus And King Cerberus Appreciation!!! They are two great demonic doggos and deserve more love (and double the appreciation for their weapon forms). I wish Dante had a Cerberus as a dog, than man really needs emotional support
- Vergil should Not have 4 wings. Controversial, yes, but he has a very cool and stabby tail in SDT, Wings are Dante's thing. Dante should have 4 wings, Vergil should have two and a tail, I Do Not Accept criticism
- Dante/Lady or Lucia ship could totally sail (personally I lean more towards Lucia), but not in this story of DMC, at least not for me. I think Dante could like either of them, but he is absolutely not in the right space for any kind of relationship during the entire story of the series, and probably won't be for a long time even after 5
- Patty Adopted Dante As Father Figure, I Do Not Accept Criticism
- Patty would get like a house on fire with Nero, especially if they compare Dante burns. She would also get along well with Vergil, because he actually has manners and style, she can appreciate that, also Patty wouldn't bother him too much (aside from nagging to be nicer).
- Dante is the Best Uncle when he is actually trying
- I wish we had at least a little bit more story going for Lucia, I really like her, but have not idea how to fit her in with other characters
- Nero didn't need to grow his arm back. He gets beautiful DT wing-claws, they are enough, or, well, they couldve made him be able to make a temporary 'holo arm' if needed, but in any case he is a better character if his arm is missing. Nero uses Breakers anyway, and his theme is using human contraptions instead of demonic artefacts. Regrowing an arm just makes him another one in a long line of 'disabled characters that get magically cured of their disaibility'. (have you seen his reloading animation with one arm? it`s great and just as cool as others)
- Dante and Vergil silently agreed to let Nero throw his much needed temper-tantrum, and Vergil absolutely went on easy mode on Nero. I love the punk boy, but no way he would be able to defeat either of the twins
- It is exceptionally beautiful to me how much alike and different the twins are, and either of them could be a hero, or a villain in their respective story. At the same time I am absolutely certain a villain!Dante would be irredeemable
- Battle for the Sun by Placebo is a song I associate with the tragic story of the wins. The music and melody is explosive and destructive, just like everything that came crashing down around the twins, it rises in intensity as their problems are left for decades to fester, the lyrics of the verses is very determined - both wont stand down and are extremely determined to see their crash course till the end (also the multiple repeats of some words makes it sound a little like a broken record - or in a narrative sense, like a lie they keep and keep telling themselves) , however the chorus is very different. The explosion of music that is constantly rising in verses finally blows up, and in this destructive cacaphony of sound the chorus is actually emotionally raw and sweet - the final confrontation of the brothers was inevitable, and it is the conclusion of their story, both know that and there is no more place left for conflict of goals, ideals or anything else, they know the end of their story is coming and the only thing they feel is joy. Joy as they clash together, like only they can, joy at seeing each other, alive after all these years, and joy at being together again, even in this twisted way, their affection in undeteterred
- (more Patty propaganda) I believe Morrison found the 'protect young child from demons' job for Dante on purpose. Morrison is probably one of the people who have known Dante for longest, so he would recognise halfbreed's change in moods after the Mallet job (for example Morrison notes Dante was sad when Patty left at the end of the anime, and...is this the only time someone actively voices concern for Dante's mental health? dammit everyone is this series is an emotional trainwreck). It's unknown if Morrison knows exactly How close to Home of an assignment Patty is (very young orphan hunted by demons, and she is not a half-devil child) to Dante, but her character was probably another good reason for Morrison to pick her as a temporary company to Dante. Even without considering his depressed state, Dante responds only to other dominating personalities (rivalry with Vergil, constantly trying to one-up another friendship with Lady) and Patty certainly has no patience for his laying around or mess at home. At the same time, she is considerate and empathetic enough to give him space or leave him alone if needed. She was the person to help him through the time after Mallet trauma and she did an admirable job. I think this makes their relationship (familiar one, NOT a ship) special, and she totally adopted Dante as her Father Figure against his will, and he can't do anything about it since.
- Subhuman is The Perfect song for DMC5 Dante (would I have liked it on its own? dunno, probably not, but playing the game with it on feels fantaSSStic and I adore this song ever since, also it is thematically On Point with Dante's character arc in 5)
- One of the fics I've read (Неудачник by velkhar on ao3) had written down the idea that Dante doesn't speak in SDT is because he is afraid of what his voice would sound like (once again, Dante has problems with his demonic heritage, they did not go away, not at all) and this headcanon has been aggressively accepted ever since
- Every Sparda has a very refined music taste. Dante is a Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Tenacious D fan for sure, perhaps also a Deepeche Mode fan, probably other 80-90s rock would fall into his interests. Nero is more of a pop rock guy, he definitely would like some rap and grunge music too, he'd like older Imagine Dragons albums, Linkin Park For Sure, maybe Skillet and or Katy Perry, probably also developed a taste for some classical music (being in Order and all; btw yes, you can like rock and classical music at the same time). Dante and Nero would dance to Shakira and Lady Gaga. Vergil's harder to pin down, as much as I enjoy BTL I cannot imagine him listening to it. I'd say he would enjoy classical music of course, maybe something like jazz or soul too. Might be a big stretch, but I also think Vergil would enjoy something like Evanescence too, I feel like all Spardas have a weak spot for female lead vocals.
(projecting here) all of them would like orchestral covers of classic rock songs, Vergil would especially enjoy covers on pipe organ (double projecting).

Baby's First Year
After writing Baby On The Way, I couldn't get out of Soft!Papa!Vergil land and I had to write something from Nero's early baby days. Hope you enjoy :)
The first year after Nero was born was complete bliss for you and Vergil.
Nero came out at a whopping 9 pounds, 8 ounces (~4300 grams). He almost didn't fit the hospital containers in the baby room which you found a little funny.
Almost right out the gate, Nero opened his eyes to look around, revealing bright pale blue eyes. With small white swirls atop his head, Nero almost held none of your traits but you were ok with that. His character would most likely reveal who his mama is.
Laying there in the hospital bed with Nero laying atop you, had you in tears. Not just from the pain that is child birth, but because this was your son. Your son who would be loved by you, his mama, his wonderful and loving father you got to call your partner, and his wacky uncle who sat just beyond the door in the waiting room.
You guys didn't have to wait long to take him home either, the boy being born perfectly healthy and more. Explaining a demon arm to human doctors was not on the bucket list for the day but Vergil took care of that.
Vergil laid on the couch with Nero conducting the skin to skin contact the doctor talked about almost every chance he got. If you weren't sleeping, trying to recover from the lack of energy labor left you with, you'd find the two asleep together on the couch, Vergil's book covering his face. Sometimes Vergil would wake to a blanket covering him and his son, smiling knowing it was you. There were many photos of this on your phone as well.
Once Nero started to crawl it was time for the weapons to go up. Dante's business building wasn't exactly baby friendly but that didn't stop the man from letting Nero explore every corner of the place. For his first few years, you made sure to have Dante baby proof as much as he could but nothing would prepare you for When Nero start training with his uncle and father.
At home in your two bedroom apartment with Vergil, every cabinet had a lock on it and Yamato stayed out of sight.
Nero loved Vergil's scarf, crying if he didn't have it with him. It became the boys baby blanket despite being a little too small to cover him all the way.
"I knew something about that scarf was going to be special," you say.
"Is that where his name came from?" Vergil asks.
You only smile, leaning into your boyfriend as the two of you looked over a sleeping Nero in his crib.
Nero began to teeth pretty early, sharp baby teeth growing into. You'd find many things broken and torn as if a dog had gotten to them around the apartment if Nero was left to himself even for a second.
You once found Nero chewing on the handle of Yamato, the boy giggling when you found him.
"Nero," you sigh. "Daddy put this away so you don't hurt yourself and yet you chew on it."
You pick up the boy, taking Yamato from him causing the boy to cry. In place of Yamato, you gave him a teething ring, the boy content with having something to sooth his aching gums once again.
There was a lot of babbling and cooing within that first year. Nero found everything amusing, especially his uncle. More accurately, seeing his uncle and father fight which sometimes led to Dante getting stab by Yamato. You'd covering the boys eyes and ears but he'd still find a way to see all the action.
The day Nero said his first word was quite unexpected. You had the boy in a chest carrier, as you, Vergil and Dante walked around a grocery store getting stuff for dinner. Nero was just babbling to himself until he finally said something clear.
"Mama"
You looked down at him, his bright blue eyes starring back at you. He slowly began to smile, saying the word once more while clapping. "Mama!"
You sat down in the isle and cried for a moment. Vergil found you on the floor thinking you were hurt only to be surprise by his son saying another word while pointing at him.
"Dada"
Vergil sat down and cried with you.
While at DMC, setting up the boys first birthday, you were surprised once again. You turned around to get Vergil's attention to help you with decorations. He was sitting on the floor with Dante, trying to coax the baby to walk to him instead of his brother.
"Come here Nero, come to your uncle Dante," Dante cooed at the baby.
"No Nero, come to your father," Vergil said.
You smiled, walking over just behind the boys to see who Nero would go to. Nero looked up at you, smiled and ran right to you.
"Mama," the boy said, hugging you leg.
The two devils watched as the boy ran straight for you, both smiling.
"Well I guess that settles that," Dante chuckles. "Mama's boy, just like his father."
Vergil pushed his brother over, Nero giggling and clapping his hands from behind you. You all laughed, Nero's giggles being so infectious, it was hard not to.
The first year after Nero was born was utter bliss for you and Vergil and that blue devil wouldn't trade it for the world.

What is the relationship between Elizabeth of York and her father's relatives? She seems to have a good relationship with her mother's relatives
Hello! It's difficult to say because there's little evidence of her relationship with them. Her aunt Margaret left for Burgundy when Elizabeth was only two years old so I doubt any relationship was ever established between them. Elizabeth's other aunt, Anne of York, died when Elizabeth was still young. We don't have evidence of Elizabeth's relationship with the aunt with whom she shared a name either (Elizabeth of York Duchess of Suffolk), though Elizabeth did maintain friendly relations with her daughter, Anne de la Pole the Abbess of Syon — a monastery Elizabeth's father Edward had particularly supported. Elizabeth also maintained cordial relations with Edmund de la Pole, Anne's brother (another paternal cousin), but the extent of her patronage/support of him is much less clear. It's intriguing to wonder what Elizabeth thought of their brother John, though, considering she had been placed under house arrest in the North under his supervision during Richard III's reign (he was, in a way, her gaoler). John would later betray the confidence Elizabeth's husband had placed in him, so it's likely she didn't hold him in high regard by the time he died at Stokefield.
When it comes to the children of her uncle George of Clarence, Elizabeth probably had a friendly relationship with her cousin Margaret. Margaret played a visible role in Arthur's christening and was present at the exclusive box where Henry VII and his mother watched Elizabeth's coronation. Margaret was, of course, Margaret Beaufort's ward and she probably only left the king's mother's household when she married the king's cousin, Sir Richard Pole. Sir Richard was made Prince Arthur's chamberlain and they lived far from court, so it's unlikely Elizabeth and her cousin Margaret ever had much opportunity for a closer relationship. In regards to Margaret's brother Edward of Warwick, we'll never know Elizabeth's feelings for him, but she probably valued her sons and husband more than the cousin she only knew as a child. Elizabeth certainly wasn't opposed to receiving the revenues of some of his Warwick estates during his minority, either.
The most intriguing relationship would be the one Elizabeth had with her paternal grandmother Cecily Neville. They don't seem to have been close from what evidence we have, though both of them were godmothers to Bridget, Elizabeth's youngest sister, and Cecily bequeathed her some important jewels in her last will, which she didn't do to any other grandchild. It's difficult to say if it was simply a matter related to status, though. Cecily certainly was proud enough to call herself 'the queen's grandmother' during Henry VII's reign. Henry, in turn, rewarded Cecily's musicians (which indicates she was present at the court's festivities on the occasion) and safeguarded her income/lands in his first parliament, so that might be why Cecily left him some money and a golden cup in her last will too. It's possible Henry's good treatment of Cecily might have been for Elizabeth's sake or in response to her request but generally, Henry doesn't seem to have been vengeful or harsh when it came to dealing with the Yorkist family (challengers to his rule aside).
Going back to Elizabeth of York and her paternal relatives, she certainly seems to have been friends with her half-brother Arthur Plantagenet, an illegitimate son of Edward IV. She employed him in her household and, after her death, instead of sending him away Henry VII employed him in their son's household, perhaps in respect for the affection Elizabeth felt for him. That might be one of the clearest examples of her affection for her father's relatives, but Elizabeth seems to have been close to all of her siblings in general, so it certainly fits what we know about her (Polydore Vergil said she held extraordinary affection/love for her siblings).
These are all the relatives I can think about now but I'll go back to this question if I remember anyone else 🌹x

so i'm gonna need some time to organize all my thoughts on rebirth, but i just wanna make a list of things i was right about, re: rufus shinra
i said that rufus could see the whispers in part 1 because palmer didn't debrief him on the roof of shinra HQ in this version, and the whispers wanted to make sure that rufus's focus was on sephiroth instead of getting immediately wrapped up in politics. sephiroth confirms that the war with wutai is intended to keep rufus distracted away from him.
i said that rufus's #1 priority from the second he takes office is sephiroth. that was confirmed at several points.
i said that rufus knows that cloud is the best chance any of them have at killing sephiroth. rufus says that out loud to cloud's face.
i said that rufus takes office at the end of part 1 in a position to literally play both sides in the shinra vs wutai struggle. that was confirmed during the ending when it's all but stated that rufus is sarruf.
i said that rufus isn't friends with any of the turks and he made the conscious decision to live a life of loneliness in his pursuit of leadership. sephiroth says it as glenn and rufus confirms it.
i said that rufus sees all of the turks as expendable. elena says it outright.
i said that square enix should make rufus a recurring boss fight that gets increasingly more difficult like the vergil to cloud's dante. they did.
i said that rufus's involvement with wutai was going to have a direct effect on yuffie's character arc. it's already started to.
i said that parts of or all of before crisis have/has been either rewritten or retconned outright. it was.
i said that it was going to take the combined effort of both cloud/avalanche and rufus/shinra in order to take down sephiroth. sephiroth's stalking harassment of rufus in an attempt to keep him distracted all but confirms this.
like, RE fandom, be afraid. people were really fucking pissed at me for some of these back in the day. numbers five and six especially -- i got tons of hate for those two and was accused of ship policing. the turks/shinra side of the fandom all but turned their backs on me for it.
so if you don't like the way i read/interpret certain characters and relationships, just remember
that this was me throughout the entirety of FF7 rebirth:

Note: It's a random story. I haven't watched a DMC Lets Play in a long time, so I'm not up to date. The story is written in freestyle, so it can differ significantly from the original story. I hope you still enjoy reading!
You woke up and rubbed your eyes. At first you didn't notice where you were, but the next moment you remembered and opened your eyes and pressed yourself against the stone. You noticed how stiff your neck was and your gaze fell on the Demon King. He had his cheek resting on his claw and was watching you with interest.
The way he looked at you made you nervous and you pressed your legs together. Of course the demon noticed your behavior and the corners of his mouth turned up in amusement. A demon that has found its potential partner automatically releases pheromones that attract the partner and it doesn't matter what or who the partner is. Be it demon or human. But of course you didn't know anything about it and Dante, Nero and V hadn't told you about it either.
Your excitement grew and you didn't know what to do. He could probably smell it since his nose was a lot better than yours and it only embarrassed you more. But you didn't want to give in, but suddenly you remembered that you still had something specific with you. A knife that you took with you as a precaution. The only question was whether it would help you. After all, you were dealing with a demon and a powerful one at that.
You stood up and stared directly into Urizen's pupils. His otherwise narrow slits were widened and only now did you notice the thick shaft leaning against his muscular stomach. You swallowed. It was at least as big as your forearm, if not much bigger. You swallowed.
“It’s rude to stare,” his deep, gravelly voice snapped you out of your trance.
“Apparently you don’t have anything against me, the way I see it,” you whisper, still looking him straight in the eyes. His mouth opened slightly, but he couldn't form any words at first. He just stared openly and interestedly at you as you took a seat on his lap.
He was reluctant to admit it, but his demonic heart beat faster as your hands touched his legs and his hard cock twitched. The fire inside him bubbled and his paw grabbed your ass. You sucked in a sharp breath and stared at him with wide eyes.
You could feel yourself getting wet and you unconsciously moved against his thigh. He hissed when he could smell how wet you were.
"The offer, my king. I think we should talk about it again," you breathed, your mind becoming more and more foggy. It was like someone had poisoned you with a love potion.
Of course you had been careful not to meet any of his eyes. Urizen had already closed it, which was honestly more pleasant for you because you somehow felt like you were being watched too much.
You continued to ride his thigh and you felt your cheeks heating up too. The Demon King looked at you in admiration. He didn't want to hurt you, but he had a hard time holding back his dark side.
The next moment he grabbed you and ripped your clothes off. You felt dizzy with embarrassment, but what should you be ashamed of? After all, Vergil was a huge demon who may not have been particularly attractive to many people. Rather intimidating.
He gasped as he felt his bare, warm skin against his smooth, cold demon skin. He had placed you back on his thigh, but your attention was focused on something completely different.
His hard demon cock twitched further up his stomach and drops of pleasure had collected on his tip. You looked at it fascinatingly. It was ribbed and a lighter shade of blue, except for the thick tip. It was purple-blue and a thick vein ran from one end of the shaft to the other.
You wanted to feel him so much. But you knew he was too big to take, way too big.
Urizen saw your gaze and his pupils dilated even more.
“Ride him,” he growls and doesn’t accept any argument. You looked at him with wide eyes. But you obeyed and climbed further up his lap.
The demon leaned back a little further and watched you with an intense gaze.
You carefully sat down on his shaft. This was the only way you could ride him; anything else would have been impossible at this size. You started dragging your wet lips over his shaft and Urizen gasped sharply and growled.
“Good human, keep going,” you listened to him and continued riding him. You were so wet that you just slid over it and the friction on your clit was just too good.
A moan escaped your mouth but you didn't care. You were too caught up in your bliss that you didn't even notice demonic eyes roaming over your body. A clawed finger brushed over your pebbly nipples, making you twitch.
“Oh,” you moaned as his claw pleasured your clit. He was careful not to hurt you with his claws. You squirmed, his cock twitching beneath you.
"Aah… I want you inside me… please," you pleaded, your lust-filled eyes meeting the Demon King's. He hesitated for a moment, then something occurred to him and he closed his eyes. You stopped moving and stared at him curiously. Suddenly the large thighs shrank and gradually Urizen became smaller. But he still remained taller than a human, he was still a good two meters tall, if not a bit taller. You were amazed that he could change his size.
"I warned you, dove. Once I start… I won't be able to hold back. I'm not good with virgins," he growled and you looked at him provocatively.
"Maybe I'm not a virgin anymore, Vergil," you emphasized his name and you felt the demon tremble beneath you. His claws clenched into fists. You had made him jealous. He could always smell it when a man had his hands on you. Although they had always been your boyfriends, Vergil had still been jealous every time he could smell them. Just the way you said his name drove him crazy.
He grabbed you and pulled you off the throne with him. You gasped as he laid down on the cold ground of the demon world, staring down at you from above.
“I’m going to mark you so much even a human man can smell it, Y/n,” he growled. He grabbed your legs and almost ripped them apart, you gasped and watched as his huge shadow draped over your small form.
His cock pressing slid along your wet sex, making you exhale deeply. Then he pushed into you slowly but greedily and you tilted your head back and rolled your eyes. He stretched so well it hurt, but at the same time it felt so damn hot and good.
You spread your legs even further so he could be even closer to you. You wrapped your arms around his neck and Urizen also pulled you closer to him. Your eyes met and you both panted heavily. He thrust into you so hard that your vision went black and the air came out of your mouth in ragged gasps.
Your fingers dug into his shoulders as his thighs slapped against yours. The animalistic sounds the demon made drove you even more crazy. Suddenly it came over you and you pressed your lips to his. For a brief moment the world seemed to stand still and the demon's eyes widened.
He wasn't used to this physical closeness. It had been so long since his last kiss as a half-demon that he had forgotten what it felt like. But he got involved and the next moment he became greedier.
He pushed his big tongue into your mouth and you moaned. He explored every inch and you slowly ran out of breath. Then he suddenly pulled away and started licking along your jaw, down to your neck. You could feel the sharp canine teeth and it made you shudder.
He could easily kill himself if he wanted to. But he didn't want to and he couldn't either. He wanted to have you all to himself, he wanted to fuck himself every night until you couldn't walk anymore and mark you every time.
Suddenly he pulled away from you and let his still hard cock slip out of you. A bright ring of your juices had formed around his shaft and your scent was in the air.
"Turn around. Get on all fours," he growled and you obeyed. You presented your ass to him and he ran his claws along your hips. You sucked in a sharp breath as his tongue passed through your wet lips, stretching you even further towards him. He growled excitedly.
He licked you like your juices were his ambrosia and he couldn't have enough of them. His claws dug into your skin and you hissed, partly in pleasure and partly in pain. Pityingly, he pulled away from you and pushed your upper body down. You read it happening to you and wait for his next move.
You could clearly feel his hardness against your sex and your heart was beating so hard against your chest that you felt dizzy. You just had sex with a demon and he wasn't just a demon, no, it was Vergil's full demon form that just made you his and you almost felt pride in your chest.
He penetrated you deeply and you groaned. It surprised you, but the next moment you squeezed tightly around him as he stretched you again. He panted, leaning over your small form. His hips slapped your ass gently at first, but soon he increased the speed and fucked you without mercy.
Your body burned and heat rose to your face. Your skin shimmered in the light of the demon world as a layer of sweat covered it.
“That’s it, you’re doing so well,” Urizen growled, but you didn’t manage to say anything. You were too dizzy and it felt way too good.
Suddenly he rubbed his claw against your clitoris, making your body tremble even more. Your moans became louder and you could feel yourself getting closer. Vergil's strokes also became sloppy and the next moment, you were moaning and clenching around him and pumping him. Immediately afterwards Urizen came and his claws dug deeper into your skin again.
He pulled out of you and you could feel his seed running down your legs. You jumped in shock as his tongue licked over the spots and cleaned you. It made you blush, it was a very intimate gesture and you didn't expect him to do something like that for you.
“Everyone will now be able to smell who you belong to,” he growled, pulling you to your shaky legs. Your eyes got bigger. He still didn't mind that you smelled like him? Urizen noticed your look, his brow furrowing.
"You're mine now, Y/n. A demon-human pairing is forever," he explained and you tried to replay the words in your head. But before you could say anything, Dante suddenly appeared out of nowhere and attacked his brother.
Out of nowhere someone grabbed your arm and pulled you out of the fight, it was V. He put a blanket around you because you were still naked and the embarrassment rose in you, but V's look was friendly and neutral always. He didn't judge you.
“You didn’t stick to the plan, Y/n, but I see you had fun,” Dante teased, looking you up and down as he landed near you every now and then. Urizen growled and tried to hit Dante, but in the end Dante won and you watched in dismay as he struck down his brother.
But then something strange happened. V walked over to the Demon King, who was lying exhausted on the ground, and climbed onto his chest. He mumbled something about he had lost him and Urizen had lost V. Everything happened so quickly and the next moment he stabbed the demon with his stick.
Everyone watched in panic as a bright light shot into the sky and you closed your eyes. When you opened it again after a few seconds you froze.
There he stood, in his full form and with his Yamato in his hand.
"What is that?" Nero asked and Dante didn't look very pleased.
“Vergil,” you breathed, and the silver-haired man’s head turned in your direction. Your eyes met and suddenly your vision went black.
