Tbh the two types of vax are so cool for different reasons. J&J is a frankenvirus vaccine, Pfizer and Moderna are Ikea vaccines.

Pfizer/Moderna is the ikea dresser of vaccines; it gives your body instructions on how to make the vaccine internally. But its pure mRNA in a little bit of fat, so its extremely difficult to store and transport, and the instructions have to be given twice to make sure the body fully recognized them

J&J is like a traditional vaccine, except its a totally different type of virus; it's an adenovirus, not a coronavirus, but they put the covid19 spike protein on an adenovirus for the body to fight. Idk why adenovirus specifically, but since it's closer to a traditional vaccine, it's cheaper, easier to store and transport, and only requires one dose. However, it's significantly less effective at total prevention (still 100% severe), its basically a flu shot for covid19

So while here in the first world nobody wants J&J, it's a total game-changer for places that don't have the necessary freezer transport at -90°C

Excited but also nervous... Shots always make me nervous 😣

Just a reminder that if you're in a position to get your covid vaccine, take it. It's a privilege to be in a place (and in a healthy enough state) to be able to get it.

Some people would love to get the shot but can't. So get yours to protect them. Herd immunity is a thing.

Unexpected COVID Consequences

As we enter another school year in a pandemic I’m starting to realize some things. I am tired. I am unimaginably and indescribably exhausted. I am filled with anger and rage where I never was before. I was always happy to live and let live. I was always fine with other people making their own choices about their lives. My best friend in the world is a different religion AND political affiliation than I am, and that’s okay. That’s the kind of person I am. Homeschool? Sure, go for it. You do you. Didn’t vote the same way I did? Okay. I have opinions about it, but I don’t hate you for it. This is what makes our world great. Being able to have different opinions and still treat each other as valued humans is important. Your choices for your life, your family, your children, and your body are your own. That’s your business. Until they start impacting the people around you. Then it’s everyone’s business. And it is making me angry. Now the choices people have made are taking away my choices. That pisses me off. I followed the rules. I wore my mask everywhere. I got my vaccines the moment I could get an appointment. So did everyone in my family. Including my 12 year old who ASKED TO GO on her birthday for her vaccine. I stayed away from people. I didn’t socialize. We did zoom Thanksgiving and Christmas. I washed my hands more than I ever had before. I sanitized. I did everything right. Now I go to work at my retail job and am forced to wear a mask again, but customers are not. We don’t know if they’re vaccinated or not. We don’t know if they’re sick or not. They can choose. We can’t. Now my 12 year old goes to school where masks are supposed to be required and there are tables of kids not wearing any “in protest” or because they “don’t believe in masks” and we’ve already gotten 2 emails that she’s been exposed to COVID positive people. It’s the second fucking week of school. We are watching people protest masks because their rights are being stepped on? Fuck that. We’re trying to stop a VIRUS. It’s not about rights. It’s about eradicating a virus. Stop being an asshole. I never truly felt hatred for people until this pandemic. I want to think the best of everyone. I want to love everyone. I don’t anymore, and it’s making me hate myself too. So. Fucking. Tired. I’m at my breaking point. Everything makes me want to cry. Those of us who did everything right are being punished because other people refuse to. That’s not right. I don’t know how to recover from this. I don’t know how to trust people again. These are the things nobody really talks about during COVID. We talk about the lives lost and the exhausted healthcare workers and the job market and whether or not public spaces should be open. We don’t talk about average everyday nobody people like me who will never be the same. Ever. ...if we even get out of this mess...

Gets covid vaccine

5:30 ish

Omg I got vaxxed today and I'm so shaky its taking me so long to type compared to normal!

7:30 pm

I've drank 3 gatorades (and more water) BUT GATORADES and I'm imagining they are magic potions😂✨ I really like the frosty see-through one. My body is rebelling against me but I still have a sense of humor. I can't stop shaking and I'm so cold. Now my face is getting really hot. Probs a fever. The headache is still bad. I'm nauseous and that's the worst part, worse than being numb in my fingers. I'm going to bed. An insane amount of news exploded into my life today and if yesterday I thought I was stressed DAMN LETS TAKE A LOOK AT TODAY.

It's now 8:42 and I'm dying I can't sleep I hate everything I hate I hate

2AM

It's exciting being up at 2am it's been a while. Proud Swifte moments :)

But also what the fuck

My fever finally calmed down enough. I still have a headache but for all this time I've been rolling around in my bed grumbling to myself because everything hurts STOP MAKING THIS HURT And all of life's stresses came crashing back into my mind and it was so overwhelming

I got a little sleeping in but yeah. Longggg way to go before morning.

Damn it's 7 AM 🎵

... and I feel AMAZING compared to last night like whaaat!?

The next day--

Yeah I felt 99% better when I woke up today. Not including the sore arm yeah that sucks but not as bad as that fever was two nights ago. But I think it's worth it. I don't have to wear a mask unless I want to next fall on campus! And I can go to concerts and conventions and church. Lol da three c's.
