I’m not a fan of the original AU of this Vampireverse thing, I don’t really have a solid opinion other than it just making me feel disgusted whenever I look back at it cuz of all that weird shit in the comic, even when I used to adore the cute art style so much, it just brings this eerie feeling. Kind of wanted to draw this Error though, good design bad execution or just poorly done. Tbh if I even probably try to understand this AU the weird relationships are just gonna ruin the fun of it.

Castlevania themed AU, that’s all I wanted to do with it.

Personal re-desing of Macabre, the Vampireverse version of Nightmare!

Dès que j'ai connu le personnage, j'ai tout de suite aimé son design : le chapeau, la plume, le grand manteau... J'ai adoré le fait qu'il soit un voleur en couple avec Cruzar (Cross), j'ai adoré le fait que ce soit Fallacy qui soit un roi et que lui soit juste une sorte de mercenaire, le fait que ce ne soit pas forcément un méchant, ça change vraiment des versions qu'on a l'habitude de voir et c'est tout aussi badass ! (Je suis désolée mais je ne peux pas supporter les versions de Macabre où il a des tentacules, où il est noble et tout, où il est genre... Comme TOUTES les versions de lui qui existent déjà et ça gâche tellement le design incroyable qu'il a canoniquement–)

Je ne conseille pas Vampireverse et je n'approuve pas ce que la créatrice (TheGreatRouge) fait avec, je déteste le comic pour des raisons évidentes (romantisation du viol, pédophilie, pervers narcissisme impuni), mais j'aime tellement le potentiel du Lore ! C'est pour ça que malgré tout j'aime garder ce qu'il est bon de garder dans cet univers. Alors c'est pour ça que j'aime réécrire ce personnage qui n'a jamais... Être autre chose qu'un design quand on y pense.

As soon as I got to know the character, I immediately liked his design: the hat, the feather, the greatcoat... I loved the fact that he's a thief in a relationship with Cruzar (Cross), I loved the fact that Fallacy is the king and he is just some sort of mercenary, the fact that he's not necessarily a bad guy, it's a real change from the versions we're used to seeing and it's just as badass! (I'm sorry, but I can't stand the versions of Macabre where he's got tentacles, where he's noble and everything, where he's like... Like ALL the versions of him that already exist and it's such a waste of the amazing design he canonically has-)

I don't recommend the Vampireverse comic and I don't approve of what the creator (TheGreatRouge) has done with it, I hate the comic for obvious reasons (romanticising rape, paedophilia, perverse narcissism with impunity), but I love the potential of the Lore so much! That's why, despite everything, I like to keep what's good to keep in this universe. So that's why I like rewriting this character who has never... Be anything other than a design when you think about it.

Je l'aime juste trop comme ça ! J'aime le fait que si Nightmare devait avoir une version alternative dans un univers de Dark Fantasy ou d'autres univers favorisant l'aventure comme un Pirateverse ou un Mafiaverse il serait un vieux badass ! Parce que... Parce que Nightmare est vieux en fait !

I just love him too much as it is! I love the fact that if Nightmare were to have an alternative version in a Dark Fantasy universe or other adventure-favouring universes like a Pirateverse or a Mafiaverse he'd be a gaffer! Because... Because Nightmare is actually old!

Dans mon imagination il n'a plus que des similitudes avec Nightmare qu'en matière de référence, sinon c'est une sorte de croisement étrange entre Maître Yupa de Nausicaa de la vallée du vent, Mendoza des "Citées d'Or" et Pandiego de la Vega de "Wakfu" :

In my imagination, he only has similarities with Nightmare in terms of references, otherwise he's a sort of strange cross between Yupa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Mendoza from Cities of Gold and Pandiego de la Vega from Wakfu:

V/H/M Verse

If you are one of the 18+ participants than you would have seen the "Secondary Designations" prompt. This was a combine prompt for two things that were pretty well voted for, A/B/O or Omegaverse, and V/H/M verse or Vampires/Humans/Mates. I've shared about this on the server but I thought I'd also share the basics of it here.

Vampires-- the "dominant" designation. These are most similar to alphas. They're your typical vampires, drink blood, get cursed by holy things, etc. They're also the common "impregnantors" and go crazy for the scent of a mate.

Mates-- Mates are specifically design to be able to provide a vampire with what they want. These are close to the omegas. They go into mating cycles where they release pheromones that attract vampires. They also are the ones that get pregnant. They also have the ability to rapidly replenish their blood as they're meant to feed not only their vampire, but also any vampire pups* that they have.

Humans-- you know... they're... they're humans... they're the nutral designation and probably the most common. Vampires can impregnate and drink from them and they can impregnate mates, but it's just not as satisfying or works as well as with the other designation.

*Pups was going to be something special just for V/H/M verse but baby bats are called pups and Vampires are usually associated with bats 😭

Ramble (cw: general sex talk/implied triggering topics [nothing explicitly mentioned])

I've been thinking about the uh, shall we say, "sexy" parts (quotes because if you know you know) in the OG NaJ AU, the Vampireverse, PJ's Daycare, and the other AUs the artist (that's what I'll refer to her as) has created. AFTER ALL OF THIS IS SAID AND DONE, do not think I'm excusing the actions of the artist. I'm simply making an observation. This is a ramble, so it's just a stream on consciousness put onto a post with no sense of rhythm. Ramble under the cut.

Anyway, a lot of the sex stuff was sort of haphazardly handled, I think we can all agree on that. It was thrown in there without much thought put into how the story and how its characters will handle it. In short what I'm trying to say is... it was very porn coded, if that makes sense. Like, a lot of the subject matter in there could have worked in the story... if it was handled with the proper care it needed. But instead, it more or less felt like someone was drawing out a fantasy someone on Rule 34 might have.

As I said previously, those topics can work in a story. But you just have to have a level of couth when writing them. The artist... didn't have that. Those subjects were portrayed in a way that almost - actually, blatantly, mocked the subject matter and made it seem light and "cute" (gross). Which leads me to why I wanted to ramble about this...

I've been thinking of a way to reboot the Vampireverse, since I haven't seen anybody do that yet. At least, nobody I know of. Anyway, I want to include sex as a part of the story, but it's not going to be triggering. Instead, I want to show the tenderness and vulnerability in sex. This might be my own sappy self talking right now, but I feel like we don't see enough of the "real" side of sex. Everything that I've seen is glamorized (as in, only the hottest and sexiest parts are portrayed), or it's just flat out not realistic. Where's the slight awkwardness in first time sex? Where are the little moments of embarrassment? Kinks? Don't see her. Where is the part where they explore their needs and wants? I don't see it much, so I want to provide that representation.

I made a mental note to not mention anything explicit here, so I'm not going to share my plans for that side of the Vampireverse here. Maybe if I get asked about it, I will. But for now, I'll be vague. Jasper and his new love interest, Lucy, are essentially going to be young and in love. They'll experience all the sweet and tender moments that comes with real love. With the fact that he's a Vampire and she's a Vampire Hunter, because drama! When it comes to sex, I plan on having something that's a little, shall we say... taboo. But in universe it'll make sense.

Whenever I write sex stuff, I try to keep an air of reality to it. Which is why I feel like a lot of the artist's stuff fell flat. It wasn't realistic, and it was just flat out disgusting the way they were handled. In reality, someone would've been put in jail. That's true for most of those AUs, surprisingly.

Rolling back to the taboo thing. I so badly want it to be portrayed as sweet, like a true intimate moment between two people. I guess my goal is this: I want people to see that sex isn't just porn. Because yes, while I won't deny that it is a part of sex (with fantasies and such), I will also say you can't base your whole view of it on unrealistic crutches. I want to show people the true beauty in sex. Because that's what sex is to me. Beautiful.

I'd love to see other's views on this topic. Just to add some food for thought or to start a conversation. Or if you're just curious about my reboot for Vampireverse.

In MY vampireverse reboot, Ink/Encre is an artist as a sideline job and trained as a vampire hunter. They'll still retain their previous names but might change some. Tell me what changes or stuff you guys wanna add bc this is all that I have for now lol.

Ink/Encre - Moved to the capital kingdom from a french town by the coast. Can speak French and Chinese (bc of Comyet inspired to create Ink from a Chinese calligraphy brush lol). Works as a hunter (bc it pays well) and sidelines his artist job for extra money.

Error/Fallacy - A bit of a man baby but still more mature. He took (kidnapped lol) Encre from a group hunt after massacring his colleagues and locked him in his castle bc he saw too much and didn't wanna risk Encre skeddadling back to the capital and outing where his castle is. His inner man childness comes out whenever he's with Encre bc Encre's still a little shit and likes to tease him.

Paperjam/Jasper - does art as a hobby. He met Encre in his cell after being curious and saw said guy drawing in his sketchbook that Fallacy somehow didn't take. Jasper got excited and started going down therr more often and got close with Encre. Encre taught him how to improve his drawing bc Fallacy didn't want to hire art tutors for him aww :(.
