DESPITE THE FACT NO ONE ELSE WANTED THE POSITION #her best chance at bringing kol back gets hijacked #she follows marcel's advice for proving power by force by instructing for ONE witch to be killed. who had already made a move on davina #ten witches are instead killed (unfortunate but not davina's plan. she feels immense guilt even) #(and this is the only thing that's like... yeah fair if the witches don't want her after that) #but she doesn't continue on this vengeful murder path. she extends an olive branch to the witches suspicious of her (fair that they don't - #- accept but she's working on repsiring shit) #the this vamoire secret society (cult) wants her. and marcel and vincent's plan to make sure she can't be used by them #is to trick her to admit what she did to the witches so that she is cut off from the ancestors and completely excommunicated #to the point where she can't even buy shit from witches in the quarter #WE LEAVE HER ALONE FOR LIKE FOUR EPISODES #she's living in that attic she wanted to escape so bad #and now she's gonna join the vampire cults personal coven because she has no other community and it's the only method she has to res kol #like good fucking job guys. your work to make sure the vamp cult couldn't potentially pressure her to do shit for them #has given her no choice but to be permanently on retainer for them #AND VINCENT GOT COERCED BY THE VAMP CULT TO DO WHAT THEY NEEDED FUCKING ANYWAY #haven't seen a witch this mistreated since bonnie bennett #and it's almost worse cause unlike vampire diaries everyone except davina is an adult #(whereas bonnie wasn't the only teenager and she aged along with the others) #so davina's age is felt way more. and the way she is used and manipulated by everyone is just that much more awful #literally only one who actually gives her supoort is josh. and he's also a teenager (and more recently vamped) #and even then #the originals #davina claire #((i'm only around halfway through s3))

There's this 2 Brothers trope that I've been noticing more and more lately where one brother practices restraint, delays self-gratification, cleans up everyone's messes and sacrifices his own wants for the good of others.

The Second brother, on the other hand, is unhinged, indulges every feeling or impulse they experience, always creates messes and expects others, directly or indirectly, to sacrifice themselves for them because , "my brother does that a lot anyway".

What I find interesting is that most writers will in the end glamorize the 'controversial brother' then demonize the 'goody-two-shoes' one. Yeah, because everyone just looooves a bad boy, I guess.

"The second bro is just acting out because he doesn't know how to constructively channel his rage," the writers say. "He's just 'misunderstood'."

But at the same time, they will have you loathing the first bro because, "How dare he not help? How dare he let his brother suffer the just consequences of his irresponsible actions? He's good, after all, with saving people, with sacrificing himself for his brother!"

Damn right he was sacrificing himself for his bro...for like 10 WHOLE seasons!!!! He's not Superman. He's got a life too, he's got flaws, sorrows, joys and...I don't know... other things to do other than sacrificing himself for his brother every episode or season of the show.

I get it. He's no 'bad boy' so he's not interesting. But he just as well deserves a story arc of his own detached from his brother's arc.

Let's not even talk about 2 Brothers sharing a love interest. Gross!!! Writers should stop doing this. It's outdated.

Rant, I know. But this way of writing is becoming boring.

Cheers to all the uptight, self-sacrificing bro characters out there. They don't deserve to be hated, under-written, badly written or ignored.

We need their stories too.

Hi everyone. How are you all doing? I hope you're all doing great and staying healthy. So a couple things. One I really like the Vampire diaries and I know that a lot of people ship Delena and if that makes you happy then that's great. I ship Selena and I actually ship Lexi and Damon even though he killed her in season one I had always thought though they would be great together. If you agree please comment here. That brings me to my second thing. I actually have an OC book and I have Lexi and Damon's and I made an OC that is their daughter and I know that the vampire's can't have kids but I made exception for her. She was made when and Lexi and Damon slept together in season four and I would love to role-play them as a family. I will be happy to play Lexi and Sarah and even some of the other vampire diaries characters because I want them involved as well but I would please like someone to play Damon and also some of the other vampire diary characters and play them like they would be in the show please so if you like to write about Damon or if you've roleplayed Damon along with any of the other Vamoire diaries characters I won't be playing I would love it if you would please and I don't just want to do one scenario I want to do different scenarios even au one's as long as it involves Lexi and Damon being together and Sarah being their eleven year old daughter because that's the age I'm going to make her please just PM me or comment and let me know if you're interested.
