Hi @neutronstarchild!!! Thank you so so much for asking!! 💕There is actually only one WIP that hasn't been asked about yet (you all are too kind 🥺😭 ❤️), and that would be the UTNL PWP New Year's Eve oneshot!

For anyone who has read Under the Northern Lights, this fits into the timeline of the epilogue. (**Spoilers ahead if you haven’t read**)There is a line where Inuyasha and Kagome both assume that Moroha was conceived on New Year’s Eve night, so I decided to expand that into its own oneshot, because apparently I didn’t write enough porn into that story already 😂

Here’s some details:

Inuyasha and Kagome have been separated for almost a week due to conflicting work assignments

Kagome arrives home in a tizzy because her flight was delayed, meaning they have to rush to make it to Yugen’s NYE/anniversary party, where she is supposed to give a speech

Kagome’s scent is extra appealing to Inuyasha that night for whatever reason (*ahem* prime baby-making time), and he really wants to welcome his wife home the right way...but they sadly don’t have time

Sexual tension builds and builds throughout the party, until they’re finally able to leave....and we all know what happens then

There are several references/similarities to the “Dessert” chapter of UTNL (minus the ending lol)

I’ve got pretty much all of it written (currently around 7.5k), but I’ve been trying to push myself with the smut writing, and have lots of editing to do, so at this point I probably won’t end up posting it until NYE rolls around again at the end of 2022.

Until then, I have a semi-rough snippet to share! Below the cut because it’s a bit filthy (although the full version is much filthier😏)

Making sure that Inuyasha (and no one else) was watching her, Kagome extracted the straw from her frozen daiquiri and set about removing the excess slush by seductively running the flat of her tongue up the length of it. Ending with a slight flick for theatricality’s sake, she then inserted half of the straw into her mouth before slowly pulling it out, keeping her cheeks hollowed in the way she would if it were his cock she was sucking. She maintained searing eye contact the entire time, watching him closely to see if she was succeeding in further riling him up.

He had a good poker face, she’d give him that. 

It was only because she knew her husband so well that she was able to detect the telltale tensing of his jaw, the bob of his Adam’s apple as he swallowed hard, and the way his pupils had blown out wide enough to almost completely cover his amber irises. Otherwise, he appeared perfectly calm and collected as he finished the last sip of his drink and set the empty glass back on the bar, keeping their gazes locked and a slight smirk on his lips but saying nothing. 

Kagome frowned when he pushed his stool back from the bar and stood up, starting to wonder if she had actually had the desired effect on him after all. 

“Where are you going?”

“Bathroom,” Inuyasha replied shortly as he walked around the back of her bar stool.

Kagome’s pouting was cut short when she felt the heat of his large hand through the fabric of her dress at the small of her back. Leaning over so that his lips hovered right above her ear, he let his hot breath fan across it for a moment before giving her cartilage a playful nip that was just hard enough to make her jump a little.

“Either we get outta here real soon…”

Oh god, he was doing that sexy rumbly thing with his voice that was totally unfair.

“...Or I’m takin’ you out on the balcony, bending you over the railing, and not giving a shit if anyone sees us fuck. Your choice.”

Inuyasha punctuated his statement by briefly tracing the inner shell of her ear with his tongue, causing a delightful shiver to ripple down her spine that set her heart racing. He pressed the pads of his fingers into her lower back before standing up straight and walking away, leaving her with an ache between her thighs that was almost unbearable now. She crossed her legs a little tighter and bit her lip, trying and failing to contain the heat rising within her.

Damn, he was good.  

Before rounding the corner, he glanced back over his shoulder to flash her a cocky smirk, well aware of exactly what he had just done to her. 

Kagome realized then that she probably should have thought twice before teasing him so much, considering that he always seemed to win these little public games she started. Maybe she’d had a little too much to drink, but for a moment she genuinely considered following him to the bathroom and sucking him off in one of the stalls. Not being too keen on the idea of one of their coworkers potentially finding her on her knees in a public bathroom, however, made that plan a no go. 

Maybe she’d just actually take him up on his offer to bend her over the balcony, because fuck if that didn’t sound incredibly hot at the moment. She absentmindedly toyed with her straw as she stared out the window at the spot in question, wondering if it was possible to get away with it without getting caught. 

Midnight was starting to seem much too far away…

👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!

Eeee this is perfect timing, anon! I was actually planning to share this yesterday today anyways, because I know I kind of fell off the face of the earth (writing-wise) after finishing UTNL back in February, and I've been dying to get back to it. So thank you for the opportunity 😁 💕

I have a few WIPs right now, but the main one I've been focusing on is a story that I actually started writing a little over a year ago! It's one of those situations where I wrote a few thousand words on a whim, had the plot and backstory mostly planned out, thought it would just be a long oneshot...but then once I started fleshing it out, it grew far beyond what I originally planned. Now I've got 11 chapters mapped out, and currently have 25-30k words written (which is probably less than half of what the final word count will end up being😅).

I'm going to put the summary and current list of tags here, and then will include more background info plus a small snippet below the cut for anyone who might be interested! ✨

Summary: When Kagome Higurashi returned to her family’s vacation home the summer after graduating high school, she never expected to be reunited with Inuyasha, her former best friend who disappeared from her life five years earlier. Now all grown up, their attempts to rekindle their childhood friendship are complicated by physical attraction, building on memories of preteen crushes and a “pretty much perfect” first kiss. After a summer of fun that blurs the lines between friendship, sex, and love, how will they fare when it comes time to leave for college on opposite sides of the country?

A little bit of background:

The main inspiration for this story comes from the summers I spent in Maine as a kid. I would go stay at my grandparent's cottage, located in a super tiny town on a secluded oceanfront street. There were a handful of other homes on the road that were usually rented by the same families, so all of us kids would get together and play every year. I never had any kind of romance or even as close a friendship as is portrayed in this story, but I figured it could definitely happen (along the line of kids who make lifelong friends at summer camp)

An important part of this story is that Inuyasha and Kagome grew up during a similar time frame I did, when technology was only just starting to become integrated into everyone's lives. So the first chapter is set in 2008, when they are 18, and the story then spans across several years (with plenty of references/flashbacks to growing up in the 90s along the way)

Normally, the key driving force behind childhood-best-friends-to-lovers stories is both of them thinking that the other only sees them as a friend/sibling figure, which leads to hardcore pining until they realize they actually both feel the same. Which I freaking LOVE. I will read 10000 stories exactly like that and eat it up every single time. But I wondered what would happen if both characters knew (at least on some level) that they share some kind of romantic feelings for each other, but there is something else keeping them from being in a committed romantic relationship

The idea behind the title, as well as the other inspiration for this story, is that I wanted to explore a scenario where Kagome and Inuyasha happened to be each other's firsts for several romantic milestones (first crush, first kiss, first time having sex), but still have plenty of other experiences with other people and don't get actually together until later on in life (despite being in love)

I actually didn't discover this song until I was pretty far along in the writing process, but it's uncanny how perfectly the lyrics of 2002 by Anne Marie fit with this story! (Yes, there will be a playlist for this fic)

And finally, a small snippet! (This is not even the part I wanted to share, but when I tell you that words have not been my friend lately... 😑. I sat there and struggled to edit a piece of one of the key scenes into something I felt comfortable posting, but after two days I finally decided to just give up for now and share a rough part of a random flirty scene that I hope you still enjoy!)

Carrying their ice cream back to where Inuyasha was leaning against the counter, Kagome immediately noticed that he seemed even grumpier than usual with his eyes narrowed, arms crossed, and jaw set. He had been in a pretty good mood when they first arrived, so the sudden change certainly threw her for a loop.

“What’s your problem?” she asked in a casual manner as she held out his cone. He took it with a mumbled thanks before returning to glaring at the horizon and tapping his foot.

She waited patiently for him to answer while they began eating, watching him with eyebrows raised towards her hairline the entire time.

“You shouldn’t flirt with wolf demons like that,” he finally grumbled. “They aren’t exactly known for being overly respectful of women.”

“I wasn’t flirting.” Kagome rolled her eyes, torn between annoyance and amusement. “It’s called being friendly. Which I know is a foreign concept for you, but —”

Inuyasha cut her off with a quiet growl. “I’m just sayin’, it’d be pretty easy for him to get the wrong idea.”

“And what idea would that be?”

“I dunno…that you wanna follow him home and have his babies or something.”

“And what if that was the idea I wanted him to get?” Kagome challenged with a raised brow, having to press her lips together to keep from laughing at the look of pure shock and betrayal that lit up Inuyasha’s features.

“With that idiot?”

“How do you know he’s an idiot?”

“Because I — I can just tell.”

“Mhmm,” she hummed in mock contemplation. It was far too easy to mess with him. “Kinda sounds to me like you’re jealous…”

“What?” Inuyasha’s eyes briefly widened before looking away, his cheeks flushing a deep red. “I ain’t jealous…just think you could do better."

He was not jealous.

He also had not been watching the borderline sensual way Kagome’s tongue swirled around her ice cream cone to catch any drips that threatened to fall.

Which definitely did not inspire a slew of dirty thoughts revolving around what else she could do with her tongue.

Nope. None of those things were happening.

7. Post a snippet from a wip.

This is from my main WIP: If It Kills Me (very angsty, dark, childhood best friends to lovers involving Yakuza & FBI-like organizations). The snippet below is part of a flashback.

“Anyways…sorry for wasting your time,” Kagome said, sighing heavily as she sat down next to Inuyasha on the couch. She hung her head, feeling childish for her irrational fear of the dark. He scoffed under his breath, shaking his head ever so slightly as he stared at the candle burning on the coffee table. “You could never waste my time.” Her head snapped up, caught off guard by the seriousness in his voice. It was the inflection, the emphasis on ‘you,’ like she was the only one in the world he would drop everything for. The conviction of his statement sent pleasant chills down her spine.  “Inuyasha…” When his gaze met hers, she sucked in a breath. He had a look in his eyes she’d never seen before, at least not aimed at her. His cheeks were flushed, as if he hadn’t necessarily meant to let that slip, and there was a certain vulnerability in his body language. Maybe she was only seeing what she wanted to see, but at that moment she had herself convinced that he might actually want her the same way she'd been wanting him for so long.  “Kagome, listen…I – I, uh…” The timbre of his voice had goosebumps erupting down her arms. It was so smooth she wanted to melt into it, and so unbelievably attractive, like he knew exactly what he was doing and how it affected her. Had they already been sitting that close, or had he gotten closer? It was all a little hazy, with her heartbeat thundering in her ears and his gaze flitting to her lips —  Wait, was he going to kiss her? The sound of the front door slamming open had never been so devastating. “Hey sis, are you alright?” She was going to kill Sota.

62. In UtNL is there a deleted scene/idea you wish you could have included?  Why did it get cut?

I had to think about this for a while, because I could have sworn there was more, but it turns out I was really self-indulgent with Under the Northern Lights and pretty much included all the scenes I wanted. The only fleshed out idea I remember cutting is another smut scene which was basically an excuse for me to write even more cunnilingus 😂. It was going to take place somewhere in the early stages of them hooking up and it involved "eating her for breakfast" and ruining his dining table 🤣.

I cut it because that story already had copious amounts of smut (seven smut scenes hahaha), and this one scene didn't really have a point besides random self-indulgence, and some of the dialogue was a little forced/cheesy imo. I paid homage to it in the final with this paragraph in chapter 11:

Even better than the days they spent exploring were the nights, when Kagome slept soundly wrapped in Inuyasha’s arms after they had thoroughly exhausted themselves between the sheets. Or on the couch. Or up against the wall. Or on his dining table. They had sex on pretty much every available surface, sometimes leaving small amounts of destruction in their wake and joking about how Inuyasha was going to have to completely rebuild his cabin once they were done with it.

77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction?

Before I started writing Inuyasha fanfiction in 2020, I had this belief that I was NOT good at writing. I thought it was a skill I simply did not possess and should just leave to people who can. But then I had all these ideas for stories and the fandom was so sweet and encouraging and welcoming that I decided to try my hand at it and realized that it was actually really fun, and maybe I was actually okay at it. I've been slowly remembering how much I used to LOVE writing (and reading) when I was in elementary school, but for whatever reason (probably school taking all the joy out of it with essays and such), I had lost that passion a long time ago.

Now I get to frequently indulge in that passion, and keep learning how I can improve. I just love Inuyasha and Kagome's love so incredibly much that I could read/write a million versions of it and never get tired. I want to see those two in any and every situation imaginable. I love getting to explore all kinds of scenarios and emotions through fanfiction, and it's nice not having any of the pressures of professional writing where you have deadlines and people paying for your work with higher expectations, etc. This community is just so fun and it's like one big sandbox we all get to play around in. I love it!🥰

Hello everyone, I'm back!!!😁

Although I planned to take a little break after finishing UTNL, I never meant to take an entire year off 😫. I could ramble forever about all the reasons, but it basically boils down to needing to work through my personal issues with perfectionism and self-doubt, wanting to read more and improve my writing skills, and then just good-old-fashioned writer’s block. Even though I still wrote throughout the year, I was in that annoying headspace where I pretty much hated everything I wrote and just didn't feel good about it, so I decided to wait for inspiration to return naturally.

And now I'm finally here to share the story that I've been teasing for over a year! I meant to post this on New Year's Eve, but of course wasn't ready in time so here we are 😂

P.S. This is the filthiest smut I've ever written...consider yourself warned😏🤣

Inuyasha is having a rough night.

After missing Kagome for a whole week, he finally welcomes her home from a work assignment, discovering in the process that she smells even better than usual. A lot better. Strangely erotic in nature, her intoxicating scent takes over until it’s all he can think about. But thanks to a delayed flight and pre-made plans, he soon finds himself at Yugen’s New Year’s Eve party, rather than inside his wife. To make matters worse, Kagome seems hell-bent on torturing him, flaunting her body and teasing him until he can barely stand it. At least he’s prepared to give it right back to her, leaving them both anxious to get home.
