cockwarming one (1) ushijima wakatoshi in the bathtub. <3
y’all aren’t doin’ anything but kissin’. maybe a few whispers here n there. his wet, soapy hand rubbing slow circles in the small of your back. you peppering sweet kisses along his jawline where the tiniest bit of stubble is starting to grow, tickling the plush of your lips. a content sigh leaves his lips. ushijima wishes he could stay there forever. the pressure of the jets is doing wonders on his body, the water is constantly heated. you even took the time to light up a few candles.
the setting is perfect. the moment is perfect. he wants this memory engrained in his brain forever, actually.
“you tired, ‘toshi?”, you asked, studying his face.
he shook his head. “no. i’m just glad to be able to hold you like this.”

𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐖. 𝐔𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐦𝐚
𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨: 𝙠𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙣.
Dangerous would not even begin to describe you walking alone at night in this area of town. Barely anyone walked through and you heard in the distance the drunken merry of men in the distance as you desperately made your way to the cabin in the forest.
“Might I help you, my lady?”
You turned to find a favorite of the King, Sir Wakatoshi Ushijima. He was known for his battle prowess and knowledge of any and all weapons.
“No thank you, I am alright.” You smiled abashedly and continued on your way.
“I apologize to you, my lady but I took an oath when I became a knight to protect the citizens of this kingdom.” You turned back ‘round and saw the great Sir Ushijima stand stoically a few paces behind you.
“Alright but do not disturb me.” He nodded and followed behind you at an appropriate length. If he was a regular townsman you might have made conversation but your nervousness got to you.
“What is you do, my lady?” The lumbering of his metal armor was heard from behind you.
“I am a physician’s assistant in the castle.”
“I must have missed you then. I would remember you.” You shook your head in amusement before letting a smile grace your face.
“And I you.” With your head kept forward you were unable to see Wakatoshi smiling lightly as he let his attention focus solely on you.
“How is it working there?”
“It is a lot of fixing up you knights.” Wakatoshi huffed a little in amusement.
“My sincerest apologies then.” You let out a huff as well.
The rest of the walk was filled with mindless chatter but Wakatoshi found himself hanging onto every word.
“Here is my home. Thank you for walking me home, good sir.”
“It is no issue, my lady.” A pause. “Now I know who to come to if I am injured.”
“Yes I believe you do.” You smiled at him and he smiled back at you.
On the day after this Ushijima had shown up at your work station with a nasty cut on his shoulder.
“When I said I would see you soon I didn’t mean this soon.” You huffed sarcastically as you gathered some things needed for the cut.
“It was not my intention.” He smiled a bit before staring straight forward.
You cleaned the cut with silence surrounding both of you until a particularly close swipe caused Wakatoshi to let out a hiss.
“I apologize, good sir.”
“It’s alright.” He remained stoic which made you turn your head away in shame. Without thinking Wakatoshi’s hand moved from his side to turn your head back around so you would be staring at him again. “It really is alright, my lady.”
Neither of you realized the proximity of the other until Wakatoshi opened his lips and let out a hot breath that fanned your lips. You cleared your throat and moved your gaze back down to his cut. Wakatoshi continued to stare down at you as you intently placed some bandages over the cut.
“Thank you, my lady.” Wakatoshi bowed his head.
“Not a problem.” You smiled and stood up ready to put back all the supplies. Wakatoshi grabbed your wrist before you could, however.
“I apologize for making you uncomfortable.”
“No you did not, sir. It was rather enlightening.” You sent him a cheeky smile that caused Wakatoshi to leave in a stunned state.
You laughed a bit before resuming your work.
It was a few days later when you came back from the castle and decided to collect herbs you saw on your way back to your front door slightly ajar. You grabbed a cooking knife that you had stored in your boot and raised it in defense.
Slowly, step by step you entered the house until you heard a slight cling behind you. Instantly you turned around and shoved the person behind you into the wall and placed the knife with the point hitting their Adam's apple.
“I’ll cut your throat! That’ll shut you up!” These battle cries fell on deaf ears as Wakatoshi stared forward in full amazement and awe at you.
“You’re beautiful.”
At the sound of his voice you widened your eyes and finally realized who it was you had pinned with a knife. In an instant the knife clanged against the wooden floor as you took a step back in horror.
“Sir-”
“I t- trespassed. The door was open and I thought there was..an intruder.” Wakatoshi could not remember the last time he stuttered through a sentence like that.
His eyes became fixated first on your eyes that held a knife to his throat then your hair that moved slightly as you stepped back from him. He looked more and more at you and found nothing he could grow to hate.
After a few moments you had finally processed what he had said.
“Sir Ushijima, though I accept your affections I would not be the best person to chase after.”
“Why?” The pure curiosity in his eyes saddened you.
“People would down upon you for marrying a working woman rather than a noble lady.” He paused in contemplation for a moment before losing track of his thoughts by looking at your eyes again. When have I ever gotten so dazed when looking at one person?
You watched Sir Ushijima turn around from you but still look to be in thought just facing the wall.
“Sir, are you alright?”
“Sorry for my rudeness but your face seems to distract me from thought.” Wakatoshi glanced a little over his shoulder to see you holding in giggles with your hand. “As for your earlier statement I would wish to continue our courtship and see how it fairs.”
“Why me?”
“You make me throw rational thought out the window.”
“So this is your way of asking me out on a date?” Ushijima’s eyes widened and he quickly turned around.
“If that is what you want?”
“Tomorrow after your training. Pick me up at the physician’s office and we can dine.”
He smiled at you and shortly left thereafter.
You really are beautiful my lady.

---------------------
When you woke the next morning, you were surprised to find yourself with an arm wrapped securely around your waist and your back flush against a surface that couldn't be anything but Wakatoshi’s chest. Heat immediately rushed to your face as you recalled the events of last night. You brought a hand up to cover your face and groaned, embarrassment flooding through you.
“Oh, you are awake,” observed Wakatoshi from behind you, his voice still husky with sleep. You felt him raise himself on the arm that wasn’t around you and lean over you to see your face. A soft smile grew on his face, your bashfulness nothing short of adorable in the eyes of the king. The arm that had previously been draped across your waist was lifted to try and pull your hands away from your face. “My wife wouldn’t deny me the pleasure of looking at her beautiful face, would she?”
You slowly uncovered your face and were met with the loving eyes of your new husband. He really was nothing like you’d expected him to be. You couldn’t believe you used to think he was the tyrant the stories made him out to be.
“Good morning,” you greeted.
“Tell me, what do you think about spending a week in the mountains? I am told it is customary for newlyweds to vacation together.”
“It’s called a honeymoon. But you’ve already been away for some time, do you think it’s okay to leave again so soon?”
“Reon is more than capable of leading in my stead.”
“I don’t know…” you said apprehensively. “If you’re really certain that it’s okay, then I would love to go to the mountains with you.” If you hadn’t already been hot in the face, then you definitely were now. You were convinced that the broad smile on his face could bring the angels from the sky. The pure happiness radiating from your husband was enough for you to stop second guessing his decision to leave the palace again. Satisfied with your agreement, he settled back in behind you, once again draping his arm over your waist and pulling you into his chest as he drifted back to sleep, as content as could be with you held in his embrace.
The next time you woke, Wakatoshi was no longer with you. You dressed quickly and went out to look for him, only to be met with Semi standing guard at the bedroom as soon as you opened it, his back to you. Hearing the door open, he turned to you, bowing deeply, and greeted, “Your majesty.”
The new title was still so foreign to you that had he not been bowing directly in front of you you would not have even realized it was you he was addressing.
“Good morning, Sir Semi. Do you know where I might find my husband?”
“He’s in the council room speaking with Tendou, Reon, and the higher ups of the military. I’d be happy to escort you there, if you wish.”
“The military? Is it something serious?”
“Nothing you should concern yourself with, My Queen.”
You frowned slightly at his response. Your husband may have disproved the rumors about his personality, but none could deny that Shiratorizawa was a country forged from bloodshed.
You knew without a shadow of a doubt that he’d follow you regardless of where you went, and you’d look foolish if you tried to navigate the massive castle without the aid of someone who was familiar with its halls. With no alternatives, you graciously accepted his offer and, without wasting a second, Semi was leading the way.
Every now and then Semi would have to look behind him to make sure you were still there since you kept getting distracted by the art lining the walls. After countless twists and turns, and several occasions of Semi nearly leaving you behind, he finally stopped in front of a pair of doors. The council room, you presumed. “We’re here, Your Majesty.”
“Thank you, Sir Semi. Am I permitted to walk in?” You were unsure if it would be acceptable for you to enter, or if you had to knock and wait for admission.
Semi had to suppress a slight grin at your question. You were the queen, afterall. Who could possibly tell you no? It definitely wouldn’t be the king, if the way he looks at you was any indicator. And if not Ushijima, then certainly no one else would be foolish enough to criticize his wife.
You knocked anyway, just to give the room’s occupants notice that someone was walking in. You poked your head in first, and Tendou’s bright hair was the first thing you saw before your eyes inevitably sought out those of Wakatoshi amidst the semi-crowded room. “Do you need something, Yn?” he asked, his full attention on you.
You faltered, truly not having a reason to have gone out of your way to find him. “Um, no, I guess not. Was just curious where you were is all. You were gone before I woke.”
Ushijima’s eyes melted at your innocent admission, and it appeared as if he was going to say something before one of the generals decided that interrupting a conversation between the king and queen was a good idea. “Who do you think you are to interrupt an official military meeting? Know your place, maid.”
“Get out,” came Ushijima’s instant response, his voice cold and steely. “From this moment on you are no longer welcome on palace grounds, and you are to be removed from your post effective immediately.
The now former general blanched, not expecting such harsh treatment for berating what he believed to be a maid. The shock on face became even more comical when Ushijima spoke again, “Before anyone else mistakes my wife for a maid, I’d like to formally introduce Queen Ushijima Yn.”
“Perhaps he could be forgiven?” you asked. Firing a general just for insulting you was flattering, but unnecessary. “Only monarchs and aristocrats attended the wedding. He couldn’t have known what I looked like.”
“Even so, such blatant disrespect will not be tolerated, whether it be towards you or an actual maid. Now, if there is nothing you needed me for, please wait in the dining room. I will be there shortly to have breakfast with you.” He addressed Semi next, “ Semi, please escort Yn to the dining room and have Hayato monitor Mr. Watanabe as he packs his things.”
Recognizing your cue to leave, you curtsied and left. The man who got dismissed was escorted out with you. When the doors were once again firmly shut, the former general shot a glare at you, “This is your fault!” he hissed through gritted teeth, positively seething. You wouldn’t be surprised if he started foaming. Lost in his rage, he raised a hand, only for his wrist to be caught in Semi’s deathgrip. The red drained from the man’s face, anger being replaced by fear. “You don’t learn, do you? You would dare to lay your filthy hands on the queen? A mere insult cost you all but your life, and even that may be in jeopardy now that you made to strike her.”
If you were being perfectly honest with yourself, you got a sick joy from watching the man go from intimidating general to shaking chihuahua under the calculating eyes of your knight. Semi had known what the man was going to do and stopped it before you even processed what was happening. Wakatoshi had assigned him to be your protector for a reason.
“If you don't mind, Your Majesty, I’d like to bring Mr. Watanabe to Sir Hayato to be taken care of first.”
You agreed quickly, wanting to see the hateful man being taken away with your own eyes. The entire walk to the West Gate, where Hayato was stationed, Semi maintained a strong hold on the other man’s arm to be sure that he didn’t try to escape or make another attempt to harm you. As Semi was handing Watanabe over to Hayato, he told Hayato of what had transpired both in and out of the council room. Hayato didn’t even bother to hide his shock at the audacity of the former general. “Does King Ushijima know?” he asked.
Semi shook his head, “Not yet. But rest assured, he will before the hour is up.”
With the transfer complete, Semi asked if you were ready to meet Wakatoshi in the dining room, which of course you were more than ready to. When you arrived, Semi held the door for you and followed you in. The room he brought you to was the informal dining room, the one for everyday use rather than the grand one used when entertaining guests. You remembered Tendou telling you that despite Wakatoshi’s exorbitant wealth, he preferred a simpler lifestyle. Unfortunately, that wasn’t entirely possible when you had the title of king on your shoulders and the weight of a crown on your head.
You sat across from Ushijima and he waved a hand to dismiss Semi, wanting a little privacy with his new wife. Semi obliged, but not before telling the king that there was something he should know. This sparked Wakatoshi’s attention, and he told Semi to continue.
“After we left the council, Gen- Mr. Watanabe made to strike the queen. I stopped him before any harm was done, but-”
“I’ve heard enough,” said Wakatoshi curtly. He looked to you, his expression murderous, “Is this true?”
You nodded.
“Find Hayato. Watanabe is no longer permitted to leave. He is to be imprisoned for treason. Go.”
Semi bowed and rushed out to make sure he was able to inform Hayato in time.
Wakatoshi slumped in his chair. He looked so worn out and it was yet early in the day. He sighed before speaking, “There has been word of Karasuno rallying troops, many of them being stationed near the Shiratorizawa-Karasuno border. It’s quite concerning.”
Despite not having much military knowledge, you did know that Shiratorizawa didn’t have many allies, so any kingdom getting too close to the border felt like an attack in the making. He continued, “In the meantime, we’ve decided to instruct our own forces to stay on high alert and have sent word to King Daichi that his troops need to be farther from the border or Karasuno will be regarded as a threat.”
He didn’t miss the uneasy look on your face. Afterall, Seijoh had only recently come to good terms with Karasuno after a long and bitter rivalry between the two kingdoms. “Do not fret, my love. You are safe here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
-----------------
The honeymoon phase was pleasant, and mostly spent in the bedroom, but like all things it had to end. The rising military concerns were increasingly taking more and more of Wakatoshi’s time and your duties as queen were taking more and more of yours. Weeks went by like this, but it wasn’t all bad. You both made it a point to have meals together since your schedules kept you apart for the majority of the day. During those meals, he would update you on the activities of Karasuno and you would tell him about what you had been doing.
Weeks like this went by, until during one lunch he told you that there was a high possibility of Karasuno preparing to attack, as they had been observed to be recruiting more and more soldiers, and King Daichi was importing large amounts of iron from Dateko. The iron could potentially be for infrastructure reasons, but the possibility of it being used to forge weapons could not be dismissed.
You furrowed your brows, and Wakatoshi could practically see the wheels turning in your head. “Don’t worry, Darling. They will be dealt with.” His words did little to soothe your anxieties, but you mustered up a smile anyhow. Though you had only been there for mere months, you had come to love the country. At some point within the first month you decided that it truly was a lovely country, it just had some image problems.
Over the course of the next few weeks, numerous developments were made. The Karasuno troops had retreated from the border and King Daichi claimed that it was a communication error on his part. Supposedly he’d meant to send them elsewhere to squash a small rebellion. In turn, Ushijima instructed his own forces not to engage with Karasuno, but remained unconvinced of the other king’s explanation. The second development was your  abdomen, which had taken on the slightest bulge. Frankly, you weren’t sure if it was the lavish meals or the extra time you and Wakatoshi had spent together at the beginning of the marriage. You had yet to bring anything up to Wakatoshi, who hadn't noticed any changes, but Tendou definitely had. He was absolutely positive you and Wakatoshi had an heir, but frankly you were in denial.
You knew from the beginning that children are expected from marriages, especially royal ones. But it was still so early. You and Wakatoshi were finally comfortable as a couple and were still learning each other's little quirks. Throwing a baby in the mix would definitely alter the routine you and Wakatoshi had settled into. How could you have been so foolish? You and Wakatoshi hadn’t even talked about producing an heir yet, so you had no clue how he would react.
According to Tendou, Wakatoshi had long dreamed of having a family of his own. You were still hesitant to say anything, but had promised Tendou that if you didn’t bleed within the month, then you would tell Wakatoshi. Confirming what Tendou had already known, the end of the months came and went and still no blood.
Naturally, as soon as you were working up the nerve to tell your husband the news, his schedule became so hectic that there was simply no time in the day. He was always gone by the time you awoke and, no matter how you tried to stay awake, you were always asleep by the time he retired for the night.
At this rate, he would notice by himself that your stomach was slowly beginning to accommodate the life inside you. Tendou had finally had enough and told Wakatoshi to spare a lunch with you, making up the excuse that neglecting one’s wife is frowned upon and it was Wakatoshi’s duty as a husband to tend to his wife. He even had Goshiki oversee the arrangements himself.
When the day came you were beyond nervous, but it had to be done. Lunch was to be had on a terrace overlooking the garden today, since the weather had significantly warmed with the changing of the seasons. You were already there when Wakatoshi arrived. He apologized for his tardiness and sat across from you.
Before he could say anything, you blurted out, “I need to tell you something!”
He was surprised at your sudden outburst, but nodded for you to continue.
You wrung your hands together in your lap. “I-” you stopped, the words getting stuck in your throat. “I think I-” you tried again. Wakatoshi nodded at you encouragingly, his full attention on you. “I think I’m pregnant.”
Wakatoshi’s face lost all emotion. “You think? Or you know?”
Startled at his change in demeanor, you wanted to take it back, say it was a joke, but he knew you had meant it. All you could do was tell the truth. “I know.”
Without another word, he stood from his chair and left you sitting on the terrace alone. You felt your world crumbling around you, tears already blurring your vision. The maids stood awkwardly off to the side, not knowing if it was their place to comfort you or not. Goshiki, however, had no such qualms. He was by your side as soon as Ushijima was out of sight. You practically threw yourself into his arms, sobbing. He ushered you up from your seat and began to guide you to you and Ushijima’s bedroom. As soon as you realized this you stopped in your tracks. “No, not there. I don’t want to be around him right now.” Goshiki looked unsure of your request but fulfilled it anyway and led you to one of the many unused guest rooms.
“Would you like anything, Your Majesty?” he asked.
“No, thank you,” you smiled at him sadly, “you’ve already helped me enough. Thank you. I would like to be alone for now.”
Goshiki nodded and left the room quietly. You spent the rest of the crying into a pillow, refusing to come out for dinner. Of course, walls have ears and the maids love to gossip, so it didn’t take long for word to reach Ushijima that you had been holed up in one of the spare rooms since lunch. He figured you just needed time and made no attempt to reconcile with you. Not that he was aware there was any reconciling to do. He just assumed pregnancy hormones. But he wasn’t going to allow you to just skip dinner. So he had Semi bring you a tray of food and instructed him that it was of the utmost importance that you were not to go anywhere alone and should be monitored at all times.
Semi sighed, wanting to criticize the king’s behavior, but feared losing his job. He did as ordered and brought you your food, knocking on the door softly. “Who is it?” you asked, voice raspy and weak from all the crying.
“It’s Semi, Your Majesty. I brought your dinner. May I come in?”
You granted him permission and he wheeled the cart in, the tray on top laden with more food than you could possibly finish.
One look at you and Semi could see that you were in bad shape. Your eyes were red and puffy and there were dried tear tracts on your face; in other words, you looked absolutely miserable.
He pitied you, he didn’t want to, but he did, and you could see it in his eyes. “Don’t look at me like that. I should’ve kept my mouth shut.”
“You wouldn’t have been able to hide it forever. He would have found out eventually. It’s better that he heard it from you rather than wondering why his wife didn't talk to him about it.”
You knew he meant well, but there was no combination of words he could string together to console you. Not wishing to talk more, you dismissed Semi to wallow in your own self-pity. You nibbled the food at best, your appetite not having returned since the cold response you'd gotten from Ushijima earlier. It was supposed to be good news, not the wedge that drove you apart.
Leaving your dinner mostly untouched, you fell into a fitful sleep. The next morning, you woke to the sounds of two maids conversing in your room as they prepared your dress for the day. “I heard King Ushijima is going to send her away,” giggled one of them conspiratorially. Clearly, they believed you to still be sound asleep. Oh how wrong they were. “I know! Can you believe she told him she’s pregnant? It’s probably not even his. As if someone like King Ushijima would bed a girl like that, princess or not. Besides, if he sends her away, maybe I’ll finally have my chance at royalty” said the other one smugly.
“If it’s not the king’s then whose do you think it could be?” asked Maid #1, not truly expecting an answer. Afterall, the walls weren't exactly soundproof. That alone was enough for her to know the baby was indeed the king’s and that this arrogant new maid didn’t stand a chance with him.
“My money is on Sir Semi.”
Maid #1 gasped. “Don’t say such things!” she scolded.
“I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be surprised if the brat comes out looking like a certain knight.”
When they finally “woke” you, you acted as if you hadn’t heard anything, but inside you were absolutely seething. Deciding to ignore the hurt you still felt from yesterday, you had every intention of telling him how those maids had spoken about you and him. Except, you didn’t get the chance. You had barely sat down when Ushijima spoke first, “I think it would be best if you left the palace for a while.”
Your jaw dropped, disbelief and denial coursing through your veins. Wakatoshi continued, “You will be staying in the family manor in the Miyagi Mountains. A carriage is already being prepared.”
“Toshi, I-” he held a hand up, stopping you from protesting.
“The decision has already been made. You will leave this afternoon. Now, please excuse me, I have urgent matters that require my attention.” Once again, he left you just sitting there by yourself, hurt and angry. From the corner of your eyes you saw Maid #2 failing to suppress a smug smirk.

Ushijima does nothing halfway. Especially when it comes to his daughter.
It’s very adorable to see, there’s nothing quite like her asking him for anything and everything, and him doing it.
For her third birthday, she wanted a pony. When he couldn’t find one, he and Romero dressed up in a pony costume.
When she asks for candy, he gets her two of whatever she likes- one when she eats all her dinner, and one because ‘mommy doesn’t need to know.’
When she comes barreling into your bedroom while you two snuggle, wailing and desperately trying to dry her eyes while you both scramble from the bed to calm her down. He’s quick to reach for the baseball bat next to his bed to ward off any “monsters.”
“Whats wrong, baby?” You soothe, opening your arms for her to leap into. She does, and you hoist her up and onto your hip, her face burying into your neck.
“Jock’s gone!” She sobs, and immediately, you and Wakatoshi tense up.
Jacques, the handmade giraffe Uncle Satori had sent all the way from Paris for Reina’s second birthday had immediately made its presence known in everyday life. Everywhere Reina went, Jacques was close behind or enclosed in her tiny hand: play dates, dinners out or at the table, sitting on the toilet at bath time…
In her arms every time she was going to sleep.
“Oh sweetheart,” you croon. “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”
“I…I…” she lets out a sniffle and wipes her nose with the back of her hand. “I forgot to…”
“We’ll find him,” Wakatoshi assures, and Reina’s eyes light up at her favorite hero.
You gnaw at your lip before looking at the time, “baby, don’t you think we should maybe just try tomorrow?”
“She needs it tonight,” he says simply, planting a kiss to your head before stalking out of the room. “He’s got to be in the house somewhere. Probably just playing hide and seek.”
What a damned game he was playing.
Surely enough, everywhere Jacques would be, or was suspected to be was exactly where he wasn’t; he wasn’t in the bathroom, or in the chair next to hers at the dinner table. He wasn’t in the playroom, nor under her bed, everywhere that Jacques could be, he certainly was not.
“Doya think he ran ‘way, daddy?” Reina wails, fingers clasping onto your pajama pants. A soothing hand cards through her locks, and despite Wakatoshi having the patience of a Saint, you could see it in his eyes it was slowly slipping away.
“It would make more sense than him just not being here,” he mumbles, and you offer him a sympathetic look for his efforts. “Okay, Reina,” he sighs, crouching down to be eye level with her; exhaustion paints his face and his hair sticks up wildly with his anxious carding, “when was the last time you had Jacques?”
She sniffles and wipes her nose on your sweat pants, “I told him to stay and watch the washin’ machine, ‘n come get mommy when it was done, and he never did!”
Wakatoshi blanches and his jaw slacks. You cover your mouth to hide the laughter that desperately wants to bubble out. Reina’s bottom lip wobbles as she unknowingly just took three years off of her fathers life.
“…the last time you had him was in the laundry room?”
“Uh-huh.”
“So… he’s in the laundry room?”
She nods again. Big brown eyes flick up to you, and he sinks his teeth into his lip to stop himself from laughing in a similar vain as you. “Okay,” he says, standing up and scrubbing his face with his large hands. “In hindsight, that should’ve been my first question.”
“Huh?” Reina asks, eyes flying up to you when you finally let a few cackles out, watching as your mammoth of a husband shuffles down the hallway to the laundry room. The light flicks on, then off, and when he emerges, there’s Jacques, dangling from his beefy hand.
“Found him,” he says blankly. Reina gasps and quickly runs over to her father, eagerly clutching the giraffe to her chest.
“You didn’t run ‘way!” She squeals, rocking the plush back and forth before planting a kiss to its head, chirping a sweet little “thank you, daddy!” before shuffling back off to bed, like the last three hours of struggle didn’t just happen.
Wakatoshi looks at you with exhausted eyes, but the minute they lock with yours, he’s unable to fight the wide smile that starts to spread over his face, causing the both of you to break out in loud laughter and snickers. You quickly make your way back into his arms, your head thunking against his chest while it rumbles with his laughter.
“I cannot believe that little snot just outplayed us so hard.”
“You’d think this is our first day,” you snort. Your head turns up to look at him, and you give him a kiss on the base of his jaw as a reward. “You’re so good to her.”
“I almost have to be,” he sighs sleepily. His olive eyes glaze over your face, “there is no way you’d be able to handle her antics on your own.”
“Hey. Just because she likes you more than me does not mean I can’t handle her on my own.”
He offers you a small snort and reaches up to gently stroke the corners of your smiling eyes, “I do suppose so; her ability to give me grey hairs certainly does come from you.”
“Exactly,” you chuckle. Lovingly, despite his slander, you nose at his jawline for him to lean down for a kiss which he happily complies in, his hands gentle on your cheek in the middle of the hallway. You giggle against his lips and nuzzle your nose against his, “I want another one…”
“A kiss?”
“No, a baby.”
Immediately he pulls back, face dropped in a deadpanned expression to contrast your excited one. “Clearly we need to get you to sleep, you’re talking nonsense.”
“Toshi!”
“Come on,” he grunts, hoisting you up and over his shoulder, ignoring your laughter and the banging of your fists against his back. “Bed time. Before the both of you give me an aneurysm.”

ushijima who works in the same company as you so when the company brings up a vacation trip for the workers and their families, and your favorite cousin is busy and your family has other stuff to do, you notice that our poor ushi also doesn’t have any family with him, and he’s all alone and you only wanted to go for the free food, room and board so you thought why not get a cute friend out of it?
it ends with ushi fucking you within an inch of your life. an extremely large hand covers your mouth to hide the loud high pitched sounds from your hotel neighbor, as your back is pressed against the slightly thin wall thick brown legs over his shoulders, his other hand holds your waist steady, your tummy bunching up showing off your rolls as the former athlete’s cock plunges in and out of your creamy wet cunt that had ushi in a chokehold.
dark brown tits jumping with every thrust as you continue to squeal behind his rough hand, he leans his head to your ear, dark olive-brown tresses tickling your forehead as he whispers to you. "cmon you said you wanted to be friends.. friends listen to each other.. friends do what the other friend tells them.." he kisses your cheek just above his hand before trailing his soft lips back to your ear against the shell. "so why. the hell. are you. still. making. noise?"
with every hard thrust his tip kissed your pelvis continuously rubbing against your spot making your eyes roll back, legs shaking on top of his shoulders and a flood spurt from your brown pussy he groans deeply, keep his pace. "ohhh fuuck aghh.." when your eyes are finally present from the back of your head he looks into them with a salacious grin. "we should’ve became friends sooner."

Clarity
Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader (Oikawa's Younger Sister)
**Wordcount: 1,414 **Note: Based on Clarity by Zedd **Trope: Friends to Lovers (?) **Warning(s): Kinda Long sorry, Y/N is a girl in this but could easily be read as GN as well **Genre: Fluff, A little angst but happy endeing
Nerves hit as you walked through the front gates of Shiratorizawa Academy. This was your dream; this school was one of the best in the region for education. It was also one of the hardest to get into and yet finally all those years of hard work paid off and you were standing in front of your new school. You were scared but excited. You also missed your brother, though you knew you’d see him after school it was weird not going to the same school. You two had gone to the same school since elementary school, he was just a grade above you. He chose to go to Aoba Johsai, he liked the volleyball program, and it was where most kids from our junior high went to high school. It just wasn’t the place for you, you knew you were where you should be.
School was going smoothly, and the first few weeks went by in a flash. You had yet to pick an extracurricular to do after school though and the pressure of picking one was really starting to get to you. You ended up applying for the boys’ volleyball club manager position. You knew they had a great program but hadn’t had a manager in a long time. The spot was hard to get but you figured you’d give it a go, after all you had tons of experience from being at every one of Toru’s games to helping him and Iwaizumi practice. You practically knew everything there was to know about volleyball. A week later you heard back, and you were accepted.
That afternoon you headed to the gym for practice. You walked in to find a bunch of scary tall intimidating boys in there. “Why hello there little girl, who might you be?” a tall red-haired boy asked as he walked toward you to greet you properly. This question had all eyes turn to you. “I’m Oikawa… Oikawa Y/N… I’m the new manager… Nice to meet you all.” You greet them as you bow. The group of boys quickly introduced themselves and practice started. You recognized one of the boys in your year Shirabu. You two shared quite a few classes together. The boy who caught your attention the most though was a tall boy with olive-brown hair and olive-colored eyes. He had introduced himself as Ushijima Wakatoshi a year 2 on the team. You remember your brother mentioning Ushiwaka before. He couldn’t stand him. Was this the same guy your brother hated?
As time passed you became quite close with the whole team. You were closest with Shirabu since you two shared many classes together and often times partnered up for group activities. You really enjoyed being the manager, the only problem was your brother. He was NOT happy when he heard that you joined the volleyball team as manager. “But Y/N whyyyyyy? You could have come to Aoba Johsai and been our manager instead” you brother whined. “Come one Iwa-chan back me up here.” “I mean as long as Y/n-chan is happy, I’m happy for her and will support her, though personally I can’t stand them either.” “Ugh fine. But Y/N promise me one thing?” “Sure Toru, what’s up?” “Do NOT fall in love with the big stupid Ushiwaka. Got it?” You couldn’t help but laugh at your brother and his crazy request. “You never know I may already just be head over heels in love with the brick wall that is Ushiwaka” you sarcastically reply. “So mean Y/N!”
The rest of the school year seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye, though being manager, you didn’t get much of a break. The boys conditioned over breaks which meant you were also there, helping, supporting from the sidelines. The boys liked how thorough you were. You would really put a lot into helping them get better. During these conditioning times you learned Ushijima always stayed late and you always stayed with him, helping where you could. Most of this time was spent in silence but you didn’t mind his company was quite nice. The times you two would talk, it would end up being hours on end talking about anything and everything. These were some of your favorite break memories. Sooner than you’d like it was time to start year two.
Not long into starting your second year Ushijima was announced to have made the All-Japan Youth team. The team took this as a time to go out an celebrate, though you weren’t much of a party person of course you attended. You were outside away from the noise when you felt a presence behind you. A presence you were very familiar with, Ushijima. “Hey Y/N. What are you doing out here?” “Just getting some fresh air the party is just a lot. It’s a bit overwhelming. What about you?” “I also came for some fresh air.”  “Y/n…” You turned to the tall ace who was now mere inches away. “Yes Wakatoshi-kun?” “Thank you…” “What? What did I do?” “I honestly don’t think I would have made the All-Japan Youth team without your help during extra practice.” “You definitely, still would have made it without my help, you’re really talented Ushi. Never doubt that.” “Thanks Y/N” You could practically feel the heat radiating off his body he was so close. It seemed like he wanted to say something else, something more. But of course, Tendo had to interrupt. You both went back inside and enjoyed the party, though you definitely caught him watching you from afar, not that you weren’t doing the same.
Somehow word got to your brother about the party incident, and he blew it way out of proportion. You tried to explain but everything you said made it worse. He was furious and there was no stopping his rage. You assume he exchanged words with Ushijima because suddenly he was completely avoiding you. He would wait for you to leave before working on his extra training and if you refused, he would skip it. He wouldn’t talk to you unless it is necessary for volleyball. You had no idea what your brother said but at this point you were pissed at him for ruining your friendship with Ushijima.
It had been a few weeks and the Semi finals for the Interhigh Preliminaries were upon you. This meant your brother versus your team. Of course, you wanted to cheer for both, but you were so pissed at this point you decided to cheer for neither and just do your manger duties. You could see the tension between the two when they shook hands at the beginning of the game. The game was intense but ultimately Shiratorizawa came out on time and was off to Nationals. You couldn’t help but run over to your brother and friends to comfort them on their loss. Your brother decided to ignore you which just made you madder. You quickly comforted your friends and then went to celebrate with your team. As you walked up to Ushijima he quickly walked away. That was it you had enough. “Ushiwaka!! What is your deal?” you yelled across the gym getting everyone’s attention. You didn’t care if you made a scene this ends now. “Don’t you ignore me Ushiwaka! Was it something I said or did? Was it something my brother said” At that last statement you see a falter in his expression for a second before his face returns to its normal resting position. “It’s nothing Y/N. Stop making a scene.” “You know what Ushijima No I will not stop making a scene I’m tired of being ignored and pushed to the side.” “ Y/n drop it.” You hear your brother yelling at you from across the gym. “ NO you shut up, you don’t get to ruin my friendship and happiness because you’re jealous of his volleyball abilities.” Oikawa was to shocked to reply. “ Ushijima just listen to me, please. I don’t care what my brother said okay. Because you are the piece of me, I wish I didn’t need. Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don’t know why, but if our love is tragedy. Why are you my remedy and if our love is insanity, why are you my clarity?” “Y/N…” “I know you feel it too. Honestly it’s fucking crazy but I love you Wakatoshi.” The entire gym was silent it felt like an eternity before you heard him utter, “I love you too Y/N.”

We had heard about Haikyuu dads getting protective over their daughter being close to a boy, but have you heard of Haikyuu dog dads getting overprotective when their little pet starts hanging around this one specific dog too much? He would pout and glare at the other dog while you were trying to stop yourself from laughing out loud.💀

And the fact that you are literally the light of these boys eyes 😭
I cant- I JUST CANT
they love you so so much
Tendou is practically your shadow
Goshiki is literally your body guard
Semi and Reon are totally your mentors
Yamagata and Kawanishi have you in a meme group chat
Shirabu is a great tutor and listener
Am I forgetting anyone 🤔
Oh yeah, Ushijima!
Well, Ushijima is well Ushijima
He appreciates your support and cares for you as a member of the team
Literally you are the sun of Shiratorizawa
The boys 👉🏻😐😠😤
You 👉🏻🤸‍♀️🕺🌞🌹
Let's just say the boys get use to finding cute stickers on their waterbottles
You also tie dyed their towels 🥺
How fun!
You are an excellent manager and person
Unfortunately, we can't always be in our top form
And after a horrible night's sleep, your usy adorable, flamboyant manager is dragging and run down
"Yn are you ok?"- Semi
"Yeah I'm fine just tired"- you 🥱
"YN you need to make sure you get enough sleep!"- Tendou now worrying 😟
"YN didn't sleep?"- Goshiki hearing half the conversation
"Yn says they didn't sleep well last night"- Shirabu, correcting
"Maybe skip practice and take a nap YN"- Yamagata
"Yeah we can cover for you"- Reon
"NO WAY! YOU GUYS NEED ME"- you realizing it would be a bigger mess to miss practice
"YN has a point. Remember the last time they missed a practice?"- Kawanishi looking at Tendou
"IT WAS ONE TIME"- Tendou defending himself
"You almost set the horse barn on fire Tendou"- Reon 🤨
"See this is why I can't miss! I promise I'll be fine"- YN, famous last words
Spoiler alert: you were indeed not fine
You dragged through practice, putting up nets, filling water bottles and almost falling asleep taking notes
When it was the teams break time, you went and sat next to Ushijima
"Hello YN"- Ushiwaka 😐
"Hi Wakatoshi, is it OK if I sit here?"- you
"Sure. You look tired YN"- Ushi 😐
"Yeah I didn't sleep well"- You 🥱
"You can rest your head on my shoulder if you like. We have a few minutes break"- Ushiwaka 😐
The man gives nothing 👏🏻 and we all eat it up
"Thank's Waka"- you laying your head down
The mans radiates comfort and relaxation and soon you are sleeping 😴
When it's time to go back to practice, every gets up and heads to the court
Except for Ushijima 🤨
That's weird? That's strange???
"Ushijima are you coming?"- Semi
"Maybe his battery finally ran out"- Yamagata
"Ffs he's not a robot"- Reon
"Hey Ushiwaka! Come on man"- Tendou yelling
"Please be quiet Tendou, YN is sleeping"- 😐🤫
Everyone 👉🏻👁👄👁 whet-
"YN fell asleep"- Ushiwaka 😐
"You can move them Ushijima"- Reon
"Sleep is very important and YN needs sleep"- Ushiwaka
Semi 👉🏻🤨
Tendou 👇🏻
Tumblr media
I graduated to the gif finally 🤣🤣🤣
"Well what do we do?"- Kawanishi
"I could-" Ushiwaka about to say something
"Before you even think it, no you can't play sitting down!"- Semi, stopping that asap
"Maybe we could replace Ushiwaka with something?"- Goshiki 🤔
"You can't be serious, let's just wake YN up"- Shirabu about to kick your shoe
"DONT YOU DARE!"- Tendou stopping him
Ushiwaka 👉🏻😐
You 👉🏻😴🤤
"We could just lay YN on a gym mat?"- Reon
"But then we'd be moving them"- Tendou
"Well we can't just let Ushijima miss practice"- Yamagata
"I'm not missing practice I'm here"- Ushijima 😐
"That's no- you know what, nevermind"- Semi walking away to grab a mat
When he returns, Ushi slowly cradles your head and lays it on the the mat
You are knocked out, dead asleep
"Maybe we should check if YN's breathing"- Shirabu
During a break, Ushijima approaches you, lifts your head and places it on his thigh
The boys go to practice while you sleep
Not even Ushiwaka's spikes wake you you 😱
"Ushijima what are you doing?"- Semi
"Isn't it obvious Semi?"- Ushijima 😐
"Umm- imma say no... 🤨"- Semi
"I'm more comfortable that a mat would be"- Ushijima, now petting your hair
Yes he is PETTING YOUR HAIR 😫

Your body is sprawled out on the couch reading a book, waiting for your lover to walk through the door of your shared home. After a while, you hear the clicking of the door knob and the familiar footsteps begin to patter against the floor of the hallway and towards the living room. You close your book and stand up to greet your lover, but before you can say anything, he grabs you by the shoulders and holds you close. His arms wrap around your waist, head rested on your shoulder, and breath tickling your exposed collarbone.
"Rough day?" You ask as you rub his back. His only response is a hum in agreement.
"I missed you today..." He whispers before kissing your collarbone slowly and sweetly, the small contact sending sparks blooming out in the small circles where his lips meet your skin. "I missed you too." You say as your hands wrap around his neck and hold him closer.
You both stay like that for a while until you feel your lovers arms loosen slightly. He's exhausted.
"Honey, can you walk with me to the bathroom?" A low groan came from his throat, "Just a little more." He mumbled tightening his grip around your waist. "Love, you need to relax, let me help you." He tsks before loosely grabbing your hand as both of you walk to the bathroom.
You maneuver to your shared bedroom and grab a change of clothes and a towel for your lover. You walk back into the bathroom and prepare the bath, you add his favorite scented essence and throw in a musk scented bath bomb. Then you help him out of his work clothes and into the tub.
His body instantly eases at the warmth of the water and the intoxicating scent of fresh musk. You sit on a small stool next to the bath and begin massaging his back and shoulders. Goosebumps rise as your hand works. You smile to yourself, loving the fact that your intimate touches make him so sensitive.
When your hands start aching you stop and rest your arms on the side of the bathtub and resting your cheek on the top of your hand as you stare at your sleepy but content lover.
His eyes are closed, and you take your time admiring his existence. His messy hair resting nicely on his head, thick, long lashes defining the shape of his eyes, cheekbones forming his divine face, his lips peachy and so kissable, strong, toned arms resting on the sides of the tub, his chiseled abs dripping with the warm water-
"Like what you see love?" He taunts, a smirk playing on his lips, and his half lidded eyes betray any kind of stress he had not too long ago. You feel your cheeks getting dusted with the beginnings of a crimson blush but look away from him quickly before he catches any of it. As you do so, he chuckles and snakes a hand towards your chin, tilting your head so your gaze can meet his again.
"It's all yours baby. Every inch of me is yours." He says, reassurance lacing with his smoky voice. He stares into your eyes for what feels like infinity before licking his lips and pulling you closer so he can finally plant a sweet kiss onto yours.
You absolutely loved moments like this with him. Both of you did.

I wrote this 3 years ago oh man. This is my official come back from my hiatus.
Summary: He was too young and too dumb to realize that he should’ve bought you flowers, and held your hand. That he should’ve gave you all his hours when he had the chance. And that he should’ve take you to every party because all you wanted to do was dance. But now is too late, because he is no longer your man.
*. : 。✿ * ゚ * .: 。 ✿ * ゚  * . : 。 ✿ *
His hands skillfully played the piano in front of him, knocking out the keys with softness immersed in the musical notes he was reading calmly. Semi had composed the song and was still missing the lyrics. Both of them were sure that they had to find a contrast between the sadness and the passion of abandonment. That was his project. Ushijima was convinced that he would find the inspiration to write it and then sing it.
He always finds something to inspire himself.
He hummed to the rhythm of the song, his voice hoarse invading the small space of his study. He closed his eyes lightly, barely reading the notes written on the bond paper in front of him. "My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways" he stopped immediately, grabbing a pen and his notebook, writing the first line that had occurred to him all afternoon.
It was difficult, he wasn't going to deny it. Being an artist, a public figure. His private life and relationships were exposed; it was not as if it affected him, the pain was accompanied by fame. Resignations went hand in hand with money and criticism was the dessert of talent. In any case, he could not complain or regret the path he had chosen: his songs were always within the top 3 hits of Japan, every time.
He had met many people throughout his life; critics, singers, composers, musicians. He had also met friends, acquaintances, enemies, competition and one-night lovers. The last ones always stayed in that: in one night. Or morning. Or evening. It depended on whether he was on tour or not, if he was tired or not. If he was feeling touch starved or not.
The loneliness of his life was a plus for the lyrics of his songs; Which was also a disadvantage. The public liked to hear the suffering, the sadness, the regret; they loved to see the tears of pain in the singers' eyes, they were excited to hear them with a broken voice halfway through the concerts, it made them burst with emotion to see them ask for forgiveness, ashamed of feeling emotions. Ashamed of being human.
The public, the market, the producers: they were all the same. They all sought to try to unmask and mix the personal with the work. Everyone sought to find those precious jewels in the artists' lives, which were neither gold nor diamond.
It was the heart.
Ushiwaka, as he was known, had not yet been exposed. His cold and dense attitude in front of the camera and his fans was captivating and sickly. Not in his music videos, not in his interviews, not at charity events. There was nothing that could get through those barriers that he had built. The industry was difficult, it was harsh, it hurt and, even in certain cases, it killed members of itself.
But he was different, because the industry was not what motivated him.
It was you.
"Ushi" blinked lightly upon hearing your voice. Usually you didn't interrupt him when he was working, or when he was thinking, or at any time "Can we talk?"
Your voice was sweet and smooth. It reminded him of his voice when he was just a child; his father had told him that at some point he would change and that he had to value the gift he had. He had to make it flourish. And he made it flourish, among other things. He also made the songs he had written with his lips to your skin flourish, and also made your feelings for his person and not for her public figure flourish.
Your voice was so beautiful and sweet, it surprised him that you weren't a singer. Truth be told, your connection to the world of music was him. And your work, which had stopped being very recurring when you decided to have a hidden relationship with him. Only a few friends, his manager and his father knew about your relationship with him. And, in the category of ‘a few friends’, only Tendou and Semi entered.
"I'm in the middle of a song, baby," he replied simply, looking at you.
Baby. That had been his pet name for you; just for you. That's what he called you when he wanted to kiss you, or when he wanted to hold you in his arms. His baby. His queen. His owner. You were his mantra, you were his promise, his oath. His inspiration.
You were everything he loved, even though he had a hard time showing it, saying it, but never thinking or feeling it. You were the only light within that hell in which he worked, his inspiration, his muse. His songs, his words, his emotion bathed in promises.
You were the love of his life.
"Uh, yeah. I was thinking…” You looked away for a few seconds, the atmosphere of the studio seemed to hang by a small thread, staggering between pain and indifference “I really need to talk to you”
“Right now, I can't, baby. Later"
His eyes snap back to the notes Semi had made. In his notebook he writes a draft that he surely would not use later.
Music was his passion, his dream, his talent. It consumed so much effort, desire, emotion. It sucked his soul to his barely core until he spent hours and hours looking at a notebook with nothing written inside it; It ruined the dates he had with you, canceled the small displays of affection that were prepared for the strands of your hair nor for your pink lips.
The music was so beautiful, but it was a curse. The cross with which he would carry all his life, the reason for the vast majority of regrets that would come after that conversation.
"I want to break up with you, Wakatoshi"
Your words are poisons, an excessive mission. It takes his breath away, little by little by little. His eyes widened immediately, slowly. The blood inside his body turns and stops running, his heart beats slowly, but aggressively.
It is the same sentence that materializes it. He becomes a piece of glass, the same object that seems to burst - metaphorically - against some wall.
"What?"
He needed to be sure of what you said.
He needs it not to be true.
He needs to know that it was a joke. One way to make him pay for his negligence towards you.
"I don't think we're working," you go on, looking at him with a sad sparkle in your eyes. “I don’t think we have worked in months… I know you don’t love me anymore, though” his love for you grew and grow every day. It was so big and caring that it was impossible to write about it, but what it would have been of him without you "And ..., and ..." It seems that you are about to cry, your sweet voice breaks in the silence of the room "And I have fallen in love with someone else during our relationship”
These are words that are buried in his head. They consume him. His instinct prevents him from crying, or yelling at you, or insulting you. His instinct tells him that he must control himself, that, above all, he loves you. He loves you so much that he knows he was not the one.
Not the best.
Not the most loving, nor caring.
Not the one who would marry you.
Not the one who would wake up next to you for the rest of his life.
Not the one who would have children with you.
Not the one who would protect you.
Not the one you love.
“I understand" and he does. He would also hate himself; he was sure you hated him "Can I ask you a question, at least?"
His voice seems to fight the urge to stop. The curiosity is killing him, strangling his hopes, his eyes, his heart.
“Yeah…”
“Is he better than me?” he needed to know. He needed to.
Falling in love was not part of the plan, falling in love was not part of his dream. A dream that was neither written nor intended to be. Love was as misleading as the facets he showed to his fans, love was a lie, torture.
Loving you, hurt.
"He is loving" was the only thing you could answer him. He noticed that your voice sounded sore "It's different, Ushi" you added, covering your face "I'm sorry"
"Okay" he managed to be able to articulate his words "If you want I can pack my things, I'll call the moving agency" it was stupid to think of you when he should be selfish; fight for your love, show you that he was the one.
"I don't want to stay here, Ushi. I am sorry, I am truly sorry"
Your words break his heart a little more. "Okay, do you want me to help you pack?"
"I already did it, I have everything in my car already"
His lips open in a small "o" but cannot make any sound. He looked away immediately "I understand" as he blinked several times, feeling his eyelashes moisten "Sorry, for not making you feel loved"
He doesn't want his words to hurt you, but they hurt you. It hurts to hear them and it hurts more to say them. There is nothing after that, just the footsteps of the love of her life walking away.
When he hears your car's engine start, his elbows collide with the piano keys; for the first time in a long-time, he allows himself to cry, he just breaks that rule. Not exaggeratedly, not as he would like. The miscellaneous sound of the instrument makes him lose his patience, and makes him feel guilty. Droplets of salt water run down his cheeks, hit the object's white keys, and stay there.
❥•°❀°•༢
They remain there for two years.
He didn't know how he survived in such a big bed. But he knew he avoided it at all costs, he slept in the study, on the sofa, on the floor, in Tendou's house, in Semi's apartment. He slept everywhere, but still did not recover sleep.
He convinced himself to wish you the best even when you cut all your connections to him. You changed your phone number, closed all your social networks - you actually blocked him, but he did not want to accept it - and you disappeared from his life. Like ashes in the wind. You slid down his fingers, too fine and small for his pain-filled world.
You deserved better than him.
You always had.
If he were a workaholic before, now he wouldn't stop working. He made sad, monotonous songs. Never talking about love, actually. Well yes, but in metaphors. He talked about plucking flowers, how to destroy rose bushes, how to ruin the most beautiful garden.
How to get away from his life.
It is very pathetic, to tell the truth. For being a musician, his apartment remains silent for most of the day. Being famous he hides from the cameras more than before. Being Ushiwaka, it is easily destroyed by your memories.
It is killing him.
"You can erase the lyrics, but not the memories," he says to himself, reading the new draft he wrote. "It takes courage, but not money-
You are taking my life away from myself.
My heart thumps thinking of you.
I sowed spite in my eyes for you,
My lips keep remembering your petals,
I lost the stems of your fingers,
The feeling of your words over my temple,
I lost every single day, night, dance,
I lost you-”
"Hey, I just came to check how you are" the voice of Semi suddenly interrupts him, hoarse voice fill with patience “You haven’t answer my messages and Tendou is kind of worried, since he is on tour and everything” his eyes traces a silent whimper all over Ushijima’s figure.
“I forgot to charge my phone” he responds; a lie,of course, his phone reminded a few centimeters away from his hand, in a particular way suspended over the wood table, recording.
“Ah… I understand. You want to, you know…, hang out?”
If he wasn’t famous or heartbroken, he would have said yes.
If he wasn’t overwhelmed by an old love, he would have said yes.
If you weren’t in any picture of him so near of his memories, he would have said yes.
“I am working on my new album”
Those words are enough to push Eita away. He doesn’t mean to just..., stop. But knowing Wakatoshi’s ego and pride, it didn’t matter how much he wanted to help his friend. There was always going to be a barrier between them. He was just a swan, Wakatoshi fly higher than him, anyway...
He could see everything but never himself, “Ah” he replies, ruffling his dyed hair, “Then, I’ll be in the kitchen making some curry”
“Yeah”
Ushijima slowly reaches for his friend’s hand before he could leave. A cold and familiar sensation creeping on his torso, “Semi,” he mutters, eyes flickering on his grip, “can you promise me something?”
Seeing the great Ushiwaka stumble and fall wasn’t something that the public eye nor a lot of people in the industry will ever see. He was hard as the diamond..., but diamonds are easy to break when you hit them at certain angles; his weakest spot was his heart, that he resguard in an ice cage until her warmth arms came and melt his fortier down..., until her lips brought him sweet, innocent love..., until his body, voice, life, self was completely of hers.
Just to steal it and leave him with nothing.
“Of course, Waka”
“Don’t say a word to anyone else” he states under his breath, “Promise it to me”
Semi shifts on his spot, squeezing his hand, trying to convince him, “Sure”
Without any other word, Semi leaves him in the freezing lost feeling.

Haikyuuu Boys React/ Respond to them cheating:
Character: Oikawa (Cheater) Genre: Angst to Fluff Warnings: Cussing, Nicknames used, bulling implied Notes:You do NOT end up with Oikawa, You end up with someone else Note 2: No gender mentioned for Y/N Key: R/N- Random Name, Y/N- Your Name Please let me know if you guys like this form or if you'd prefer the text picture form.
It had been a week since Aoba Johsai had lost the Spring Qualifiers to Karasuno. Since the loss Oikawa had been very distant. You figured he was just dealing with a lot and had been giving him his space. Today though, you decided you would go surprise him with cuddles and bring him some milk bread (since it was his favorite after all). You arrived at his house, knocking and then entering quietly incase he was asleep.
You- Hey Babe! It’s me.
You- Kawababe? It’s me. I brought milk bread.
You waited for a response and decided to go check his room after not hearing anything, thinking he might be asleep.
As you crept closer to his room you heard muffled noises and noticed the door was slightly agar. You pushed the door open slowly and the scene before you broke your heart.
You- Kawa…
Oikawa- Y/N!! What are you doing here? I... It’s not what it looks like, I swear.
In front of you was your “loving” boyfriend and R/N, the head girl of the Oikawa fangirl club in bed together (doing yknow what).
R/N- What do you mean its not what it looks like, babe? It is exactly that. He doesn’t need you anymore. We all know you could never be what he needed. That’s why he came to me after the loss. That’s why he’s been avoiding you. He’s been with me ALL week.
You- Was I not enough...?  >You asked tears streaming down your face<
Oikawa- You are more than enough I swear! Please let’s talk about this! Let me make it up to you.
You- NO!!! We only ever made one promise and you broke that. You broke my trust and that isn’t something I can just get passed. Out of everyone to cheat with… R/N… Knowing how insecure she constantly made me feel and how horrible she treated me for dating you. You really said hit them where it hurts. Well, you succeeded congrats. Incase you didn’t get the memo we’re through and fuck you… Fuck you both.
With that you left his house tears streaming down your face. So hurt and betrayed. Oikawa tried to follow you, calling your name but you ignored him running home to hide away in your room.
-Time Skip 2 Weeks-
You hadn’t been going to school. You knew you couldn’t keep skipping but you just weren’t ready to face everything yet. You did try going back to school once two days ago, but that didn’t go well. At this point the whole school knew about what happened and the fangirl club was more brutal toward you then ever. Rubbing the whole thing in your face and reminding you how Oikawa deserves better.
The team themselves had reached out several times to check on you and apologizing. They went as far as showing up at your house, but you couldn’t face them. You knew it wasn’t their fault it just hurt to bad. You loved them you just couldn’t face them, though you really did miss them.
Oikawa kept reaching out and trying to talk to you, that was part of the reason you felt you couldn’t go back to Seijoh. You didn’t want anything to do with him. Right after everything happened Oikawa called and texted like crazy until you blocked him, every text left unread, and every voicemail left unheard. He even came to your house one time but after hours of pleading to see you with no avail he went home.
You decided switching schools was the best choice. Though you were scared and moving schools especially during third year wasn’t normal and wouldn’t be easy you felt it was the right choice. You decided to use this as an opportunity to apply to the school you were too scared to apply to when you were originally looking at schools.
Now here you are, reading your acceptance letter to the Shiratorizawa Academy. Shiratorizawa is very difficult to get into and it was really hard to convince them to even let you take the entrance exam, but once they saw your scores it was an easy yes for them.
You start Shiratorizawa tomorrow, you decided it was time to reach back out to Seijoh and say your final goodbyes. You texted Iwaizumi and asked him to meet, just him. Iwaizumi was quick to say yes and was over to your house in ten. You answered the door and immediately hugged him, you secretly missed him the most. You two were quite close before everything because he was Oikawa’s best friend after all.
Iwaizumi- Y/N its good to see you again. How are you? Shittykawa is an absolute dumbass and I’m sorry for what he did. The team has shunned him since it happened. None of support him and his decision.
You- Iwa he’s your best friend, I know were friends, but you can still be friends with him. I know you were his friend first. Plus, I actually asked you hear to tell you to let the team know I’m really going to miss them, and I hope you all keep working hard. I am doing something for myself to help me heal. I’m transferring schools. So you guys don’t have to choose between us.
Iwaizumi- You’re transferring schools? Where? And we all still want to be your friends and in your life too.
You- Were all still friends, you guys can text me and we can still all hang out anytime. I just need some time to adjust to my new school.
Iwa stayed and you guys hung out for a couple hours before he went home.
-Timeskip to next day (Monday)-
Today you started your new school. The day went by quickly and was quite smooth. You even made a few friends. This new start made you happy. It was just what you needed. On your way out you heard the noise, the noise you loved so much. The noise you’ve missed for the past few weeks. You unconsciously found yourself walking toward the sound of sneakers squeaking and balls hitting the floor. Without realizing it you found yourself outside the volleyball gym, and couldn’t help but peak in. You watched awed by the team in at work in front of you.
Tendo- Hey, are you a fangirl?
Tendo came up behind you startling you. Jumping you turned to face to face with the red hair boy.
You- Oh no, sorry. I’m actually new here. I was really close to the volleyball team at my old school and unconsciously followed the sound here. Sorry.
Tendo- Well it’s great to meet you. I’m Satori Tendo third year, middle blocker.
You- Oh Yea!! You’re that really awesome guess blocker, right? Your blocks are like scary accurate. I’ve always wanted to see you up close. I’ve seen you play but to be up close is something totally different.
Tendo- Wow, thank you. Why don’t you come in and watch… um?
You- Y/n L/N, third year as well.
With that Tendo led you in and you watched practice. After practice Tendo introduced the team to you. They were pretty intimidating at first but they slowly got to know you and they were actually quite nice. You ended up hanging out with them all the time. Slowly you lost touch with the Seijoh players, not intentionally but everyone was busy and you guys hadn’t seen each other in months. Besides you were very busy, Tendo kept the whole team on there toes.
One day you finally told the team everything and explained why you switched schools. They were all there for you and it only made there hatred for Oikawa stronger. Slowly you found yourself healing and even possibly falling in love again.
You were watching the team practice, currently they were on a break.
Tendo- So, are you going to tell him?
You- What are you talking about Tendo?
Tendo- You know exactly what I’m talking about.
You- I really don’t.
Tendo- Its obvious (to me at least) that you like him. You should tell him.
You- >Flustered< Huh? What are you talking about? Confess to who?
Tendo- Wakatoshi-kun duh.
You- >Your face is now beet red< I do NOT have a crush on Ushiwaka. Besides he wants to focus on volleyball and doesn’t have time for dating; which I TOTALLY respect.
Tendo- I mean honestly doesn’t hurt to try. You never know he might just make an exception to date you. After all he totally likes you back. Show that Oikawa dude you don’t need him anymore.
You- What are you talking about?
Tendo- Ushijima is my best friend, I know him better than anyone. I can read him like a book. He may seem stoic and emotionless, but he likes you trust me.
You- Fine, fine I’ll do it. I mean he at least deserves to know how I feel. He’s been nothing but good to me and he deserves the truth.
After practice you pulled Ushijima to the side.
Ushiwaka- Hello Y/N. Did you need something?
You- Yes actually. Listen before I say this I don’t want it to ruin our friendship. You are very important to me Ushiwaka. Promise it won’t ruin things, please.
Ushiwaka- Okay, I promise. Now what is it?
You- I know you want to focus on volleyball, and I respect and support that one hundred percent. I know how important a career in volleyball is to you, but graduation is quickly approaching and before we leave I want you to know… Ushijima I have feelings for you… I like you… in more than a friend way.
Silence filled the space between you, causing you to become super flustered and nervous.
You- I totally get it and I hope this doesn’t ruin anything. I just wanted to be honest with you. I…
Ushiwaka- Y/N, I believe I like you as well. As more than a friend. Would you consider going on a date with me?
You and Tendo at the same time- YES!!!
You- AHHHH! Tendo!!! What are you doing here?
Tendo- I couldn’t not come see my two best friends finally get together. And its all thanks to my amazing advice.
You- More like you crazy persistence. >You all laugh at that<
That weekend you and Ushijima went on your date, which went amazing. It was everything you could have dreamed of and more. He was a total gentleman. After the date Ushijima asked you to officially be his and of course you said yes.
-Time Skip 2 weeks-
You were hanging out with Tendo, Ushijima, Semi, Goshiki, and Shirabu (though he was dragged here by Semi and Goshki). The rest of the team was suppose to meet you guys in an hour or so for a date turned whole team hang out (thanks to Tendo). You guys were hanging in the park when you hear someone calling your name. You look up to see most of the Seijoh volleyball team.
Oikawa- Hey, Y/N could we um talk? Please?
The team tried to talk but you cut them off.
You- Sure.
You stepped off to the side with Oikawa while the others started talking amongst themselves.
You- What is it Oikawa?
Oikawa- It’s been a while… how are you?
You- I’m fine. How are you?
Oikawa- I’m doing okay, I guess. Really miss you though. You transferred to Shiratorizawa?
You- Yes.
Oikawa- That’s cool. I know it was you first choice for schools, but you didn’t think you’d make it. Glad to see you prove yourself wrong.
You- Thank you. Now what did you want Oikawa?
Oikawa- I wanted to apologize for everything. You were so good to me and you didn’t deserve what I did to you. >He reaches out and brushes your arm<
You quickly pull back from him.
You- Oikawa, thank you and I accept your apology but please don’t. We are through, done for good.
Oikawa- Please Y/N one chance that’s all I ask.
You- Oikawa I… I can’t I have a boyfriend.
As if on cue Ushijima walked over and wrapped his arm around you.
Ushijima- Oikawa
Oikawa- (directed at Ushijima) Ushiwaka…(directed at you) you’re dating him… aren’t you Y/N?
You- Yes, he’s everything I ever dreamed of and more. Sorry Oikawa. Hope you find happiness one day. Sorry, that’s just not me.
Oikawa- I understand… Also Ushiwaka, hurt her and I will personally kick your ass, got it? Don’t make the same mistake as me. Cherish her and hold her close.
After that you all returned to the group. You informed everyone that you and Ushijima were dating. Everyone continued catching up before parting ways. After everything you and Ushijima walked to his house together.
On the walk out of no where Ushijima blurts
Ushiwaka- I love you.
You- You what ?
You ask as you stop in your tracks. Ushijima turns grabs your hands looks you in the eyes and says it again.
Ushiwaka- I love you Y/N.
You- I… I love you too Ushi.
You guys continued home. Honestly, Oikawa really hurt you but in some ways you had to thank him. Without him you may never have found your way to the love of your life.

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐖. 𝐔𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐦𝐚
𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗷𝗶𝗺𝗮), 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴
Maybe it was because you were tired or maybe it was because you finally were at your breaking point but seeing your ex with someone new made you absolutely enraged. It never helped that the new person they were with was your best friend.
After acting for weeks like everything was ok you finally ran behind the sports building where rarely anyone went and cried. With only your portable tissue pack to comfort you, the tears fell for a while.
“Are you alright?” You turned to see a guy you remember as being quiet. Though under normal circumstances you would have just said a quick answer and ran away you decided against better judgment to pour your heart out.
“No!” You threw a tissue into the distance as he sat next to you on the dead grass bordering the building.
“Would you like to talk about it?”
You told him the story which was filled with lots of cuss words and many breaks to cry.
“That sounds like…a lot.”
“Yeah…”
“Do you feel better?”
“Not really.” You leaned your head on his arm, not quite reaching his shoulder even though both of you were sitting.
“I’m sorry I don’t really know what else to help.” The tone of his voice indicated sincerity.
“It’s alright. I think you sitting here has done wonders.”
You both continued to make small talk with promises from you to take care of yourself and promises from him to talk in the future. The goal was to talk at least once in the next week though Ushijima had vastly different plans. Though you noticed him sticking around on numerous locations:
He sat down across from you at lunch.
“Have you been reading recently?”
“Yeah, I found this old poetry book at a discount store. It’s pretty good.” You pulled the book from your bag.
“You annonntated it.” Ushijima flipped through the pages and caught glimpses of your notes in the margin.
“Helps get a better feel for the text.”
“Would you mind if I borrowed this?” His index finger traced over a poem that you noticed, because of the structure, was e.e. cummings.
“The poems are about the theme of romance throughout poetry.” You looked down in slight embarrassment but Ushijima continued to be enamored by the poem.
“Could I make annotations?”
He sat with you to watch the sunset.
“Ok what do you think that cloud looks like?” Your finger pointed to a small and spherical cloud.
“A ball.”
“What kind?”
“...Volleyball.” You laughed a little before he pointed to another one. “What do you think that one looks like?”
“Cotton candy.”
“I believe that is a copout answer.” He laughed a little while you shook your head.
“Maybe.” You paused and turned your face to face him directly. “Would you like to get ice cream?”
“Unfortunately not. Coach has us on a diet plan.”
“Booo!” He chuckled but the stick grabbed your hand to stand you up with him.
“But I can walk you to the ice cream place.” You nodded towards him.
The walk was quiet as per usual. Each of you basking in the general ambience the countryside brought though you noticed Ushijima waving at many of the family owned stores.
“Do you know all of them?” He turned his head to look down at you abashedly.
“I just help some of them out of the weekend with unloading. It’s a good workout.”
“That’s nice. Next time, invite me! I can help stock items!”
“Alright.” Unconsciously he found himself glancing at you though you paid no mind. He noted the style of your hair and the darkness to your skin. He saw the little intricacies to your side profile in the short glances but it mapped the beautiful picture he already had of you in his mind.
The ice cream shop was small and clearly needed some upkeep but the old owners never paid much mind.
“Hello.” You nodded your head towards the old woman behind the counter and smiled.
“Hello there. What would you like, sweetie?”
“Um mint chocolate.” Your finger pointed to the light green flavor as Ushijima let his eyes roam around the place.
“That’ll be four hundred yen.” Though you tried paying, Ushijima slipped the coins from his pocket seemingly out of nowhere.
“Hey I was paying!”
“It’s rude to let you pay.” You hit his arm lightly which got the old woman behind the counter to see something.
While you ate at a table in the shop the old lady began to sweep and pretended to drop the broom. She tried kneeling down to grab it but when she could not Ushijima swooped in to grab it.
“Thank you, young man.”
“It’s no problem.” She grabbed the broom from his hands.
“Say, I’ve been meaning to clean this place up for a while but my bones are too old to do so. Would either of you mind coming by this Sunday to do it? I’ll pay.”
“No need to pay. I don’t mind.” You smiled and threw away your ice cream cup in a nearby trash can.
“Neither do I.” Ushijima made an effort to smile small.
Sunday came by slowly as the school hours dragged on and on. You were entrapped in club activities while Ushijima was drowning in practice. When the day finally came both of you were a little exhausted but ready to help.
“Would you mind wiping the windows down on both sides?” The old woman pointed at the dusty and cobweb ridden windows. You shuttered but grabbed the bucket of soap and water nonetheless.
Ushijima took the outside while you took the inside. Putting some headphones in you concentrated on leaving the area spotless while Ushijima quickly got distracted staring at you.
Though up until a few moments ago he was keeping his cool it was not until you were right in front of him wiping down the window that he stopped entirely. You looked at him before laughing lightly and splashing some soap directly onto the space of the window his face was.
He laughed as well though with a blush on his face and continued silently. Now you both moved in relative sync with your towels moving together on both sides.
When you finished, the old woman directed both of you to fix some chairs.
“We should get dinner together.” You looked up at Ushijima in shock.
“Like a date?” There was a hopefulness in your voice.
“Is- Is that what you want this to be?” He rubbed the back of his neck in an attempt to get his blood flowing elsewhere as his face heated up.
“Yes.” Your assertiveness made him chuckle.
“Then dinner tonight. It’s a date.”
“Ok.”
From the other side of the door the old lady cheered.

The reception was much more eventful than the wedding itself. It was being held in the ballroom of the palace, since it was one of the largest rooms available and was intended for large events. Wakatoshi briefly left your side to fetch refreshments, which gave King Kuroo and Prince Bokuto the perfect opportunity to approach you.
“YN! Congratulations!” exclaimed Bokuto, throwing his arms around you in a bone-crushing hug.
You returned the hug and thanked him. Kuroo followed Bokuto’s example and gave you a hug as well. “Congratulations, Yn! Can’t believe you're a queen now.”
You chuckled, “Yeah, I can’t either. It doesn’t seem real yet.”
Kuroo nodded in acknowledgement. “You’ll get used to it before you know it. It took a while after my coronation, too.”
You gave him a genuine smile, “Thank you, Kuroo. I really appreciate that.”
“Yeah, don’t sweat it. I’m sure your ~husband~ will help you every step of the way until you can do it by yourself,” teased Bokuto, a wide grin on his face.
Kuroo, never one to be left out of the fun, also chimed in, “I’ll bet he’d help his queen with anything. Don’t you think, Bokuto?”
“Ohhh, of course he would. Whatever Her Majesty needs, right Yn?”
You rolled your eyes, “Shut up, both of you. What about your love lives, huh?”
Kuroo put a hand over his heart in mock pain, “You wound me, Your Highness.” Bokuto laughed at Kuroo’s antics, but Kuroo wasn't having any of that. “What’re you laughing at, Bokuto? You don’t have a lover either.”
As the two men bickered back and forth, a new voice to your left made you jump. “Congratulations, princess,” came the flirty tone of a blond man accompanied by two men. One with the same face, twins, you presumed, and one with dark brown bangs parted on either side of his face.
“She’s a queen now, you nitwit,” said the man with an identical face. “Excuse him, he’s not known for being respectful,” he said, throwing a pointed glare at his brother.
“Don’t embarrass me in front of the pretty lady!”
“The pretty married lady?”
The blonde smirked. “All’s fair in love and war.”
Suddenly, a large palm landed itself on the man’s shoulder, and your husband came into view. “There should be no talk of war. After all, no one here would do anything to offend the other, isn’t that right, captain?” The man in question winced. “Yes of course.”
After a few more minutes of pleasantries (And bearing witness to Bokuto’s and Kuroo’s antics), you smiled sweetly at the men you were speaking to and bid them farewell to talk to another group of guests. You linked your arm into your new husband’s and ushered him to the dance floor for the first dance of the night. You released his arm to stand directly in front of him. He brought one hand to your waist, and grasped one of yours with the other. The guests formed a circle around the two of you, giving you ample space to twirl with the music. Throughout the entire dance, neither of you broke eye contact, completely enraptured with the other. When the song came to a close, the guests clapped as they took to the dance floor for the next song.
You and Wakatoshi made your way back to the edges of the ballroom as you had spotted your family waving you over. You let go of Wakatoshi’s arm and ran to your parents, throwing your arms around them. “There’s our girl!” exclaimed your father, enveloping you in a bear hug. You hugged your mother next before turning to Tooru, who, instead of hugging you, tugged you behind him before pointing an accusatory finger at Wakatoshi and barraging him with questions. Iwa took it upon himself to smack the back of Tooru’s head. “You’re supposed to protect me from harm, not cause it!” shouted your brother. He really was such an idiot.
Makki and Mattsun took the opportunity to greet you, immediately teasing you about your new marital status. “So, Queen Ushijima now, huh? How’s it feel?”
You chuckled, “To be quite honest, it hasn’t sunk in yet. I thought I would be a princess forever.”
“And I thought I would be the princess’ guard forever,” said Hajime wistfully, joining the three of you in conversation. “If you ever have an opening in the Shiratorizawa guard let me know.” The smile on his face made it clear that he was merely joking, but you couldn’t help but entertain the idea, “Oh, but of course. You’ll be the first person notified.”
“You can’t take Hajime! If he goes then who’ll train Kyoutani? Because it certainly won’t be me. He doesn't listen to me at all!” whined Tooru.
“Who’s Kyoutani?”
They all shared a look as if just realizing something. It was Mattsun who spoke first, “That’s right. You left before Kyoutani joined the guard.” He pointed to a man with short cropped blond hair with two dark stripes in it who seemed to be scowling at everyone he laid eyes on. “That’s him.”
As if sensing you all talking about him, he turned his glare in your direction. Hajime beckoned him over, to which Tooru was quick to object. It was amusing how your brother seemed almost genuinely intimidated by the new recruit.
Upon reaching your little group, Kyoutani bowed first to Wakatoshi and then to you, “Your Majesties.” Tooru was next, though Kyoutani said nothing in acknowledgement. He took his place beside Iwa, posture rigid. Your brother looked positively offended at the lack of greeting. He huffed, “I’m going talk to King Daichi.”
Wakatoshi looked at you, “Your brother is quite childish.”
“Understatement of the year,” snickered Makki, not even trying to hide his grin.
Never one to miss a chance to make fun of Tooru, Mattsun began a dramatic retelling of 8-year-old Tooru who jumped into the garden pond because he thought the lily pads would hold his weight. They did not. Even Kyoutani cracked a smile at the story.
Cheeks still hurting from smiling so much, you looked around to see where your brother had gone off to, but neither him nor King Daichi was anywhere to be seen. You shrugged it off, returning to the conversation which had shifted from making fun of Tooru to reminiscing about being children.
Tumblr media
The two monarchs had taken their conversation elsewhere, a drawing room to be exact, which is the reason you were unable to find them. “Prince Tooru, please explain yourself. It is your sister’s wedding reception. You should be out there celebrating!” King Daichi was quickly losing patience with the young prince.
“Why should I celebrate my sister marrying that monster?” hissed Tooru. “The only reason she’s married to him is because he threatened war on our country otherwise.”
King Daichi’s jaw dropped open, his eyes widening. “I didn’t know that,” he said lamely.
“No, you wouldn’t have known. Couldn’t have. It’s been kept secret from everyone but the royal family and some choice servants.”
“So why are you telling me this?” The king narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
“I want your help.”
Tumblr media
“Excuse us, have any of you seen King Daichi?” interrupted a man with silver hair. He was accompanied by a much taller man with shoulder-length brown hair.
You took the liberty of answering, “No, I haven’t. My brother Tooru went speak to him some time ago, but I haven’t seen either of them since. I tried to look for him earlier but I don’t think they’re in the ballroom anymore.”
“I see. Well, thank you anyway. Would you like me to relay your brother’s whereabouts if we find him?”
“Yes, please. That would be much appreciated.”
“Our pleasure, Your Highness.” He nodded in goodbye to the group before presumably continuing his search, his brunet companion in tow.
Though a few minutes later it seemed that the silver haired man wouldn’t need to report back to you, as Tooru found you first. “What’d I miss?” asked your brother casually, as if he hadn’t been gone for half an hour at least. Bokuto, who had come over with Kuroo only a few minutes ago, broke into laughter whilst trying to catch Tooru up on a story he’d been telling about the time he was a kid and got stuck in a dumbwaiter whilst playing hide and seek with his sisters.
Tooru gave a hearty laugh, acting normal, and yet something seemed off, almost forced. A new song began and he turned to you and offered his hand, “Dance with me?”
“If you don’t mind embarrassing yourself. Your dancing is as abysmal as it was when we were children,” you laughed, but took his hand anyway. As the dance commenced, so too did his incessant questions.
“Are you okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
He rolled his eyes. “You don’t have to pretend for my sake. We both know you didn’t want to marry that savage, especially under threat of war.”
“He’s not a savage,” you chided, instantly defending your husband.
He scoffed. “You don’t actually like him, do you?” he questioned in disbelief.
“Wakatoshi isn’t anything like what you think he is.”
“Wakatoshi? So, you’re on a first name basis now?”
“Look, I know it’s less than ideal, but I think we can make this work. He’s kind, considerate, and r-”
“So, you do like him.” Tooru’s eyes darkened. There was so much disapproval wafting off him that it was practically tangible. “Have you forgotten that he declared war on our kingdom?”
“Of course I haven’t! But aren’t you the least bit curious why?”
“It doesn’t matter why he did it, the point is that he did it. Yn, this is absurd and I won’t hear anymore of your fantasy of a happily ever after with that brute.”
You were visibly growing agitated. Ushijima, who had been watching the whole affair from afar, decided that now was the time to intervene. A bride shouldn’t be upset on her wedding day.
Both you and Tooru were so absorbed in your squabbling that neither of you noticed Ushijima approaching.
“Oh, come on Tooru. You never even gave him a chance.”
“Why should I? Give me one good reason why I should so much as spare him the smallest grain of courtesy.”
“Because he’s my husband. I know his reputation is-”
“Atrocious,” deadpanned your brother.
You couldn’t even dispute it. He was right. “Not the word I was going to use, but yes. This isn’t what I wanted for myself, that’s true. And yeah he comes across as cold and aloof. But what’s done is done, and I am going to make the best of it.”
“Is that truly how you feel?” came the deep baritone of just the man you were talking about. “I apologize for causing such stress. It was never my intention.” The look on his face cut you deeply. He looked so hurt by your words.
“No, Wakatoshi wait!” You called after him, but he was already walking away. You went after him, leaving Tooru alone. You hated to admit it, but Wakatoshi definitely had the advantage. His legs were much longer than yours, which made it difficult to keep up. You just hoped you weren’t making too much of a scene and that everyone had drunk enough to not care what was going on around them.
You eventually caught up to him in the hallway leading away from the ballroom, but he didn’t stop. You grabbed a piece of his sleeve to prevent him from going any farther. “Please listen,” you hated that you were nearly begging, but you didn’t want to ruin your marriage just hours into it. “I know what I said was mean, but you didn’t let me finish.” You were looking at him with such desperation he couldn’t possibly deny you. He nodded for you to continue.
“What I was going to say is that you’re contradicting everything we’ve ever been led to believe about you. You may come across as cold and aloof at first, but once I got to know you you were actually sweet and caring.” You stared up at him resolutely, “I want this to work between us. I don’t want to spend my life in an unhappy marriage.”
You thought he wasn’t going to say anything and your heart fell, but a small smile slowly graced his face. “I would very much like that as well.”

Tooru still stood where you had left him, looking around for someone. He spotted them at a table near the corner and strode over quickly.
“I have proof,” he stated, a grim determination in his eyes.
“Oh? And what might that be?”
“She thinks he’s cold and aloof. She also said that she never wanted to marry him.”
The man’s brows furrowed in contemplation, his hands steepled. “I’ll help. But what do I get in return?”
Another man at the table chimed in, “Sire, I don’t think this is a good idea. I spoke with Queen Yn earlier and she seemed perfectly happy.”
Tooru snapped at the silver-headed man who had interrupted, “She’s a public figure which makes her well practiced in keeping up appearances. Just because she seemed happy doesn't mean she is.”
The prince continued with the conversation as if it had never been interrupted, “My father intends to step down from the throne within the year. As his successor, I will be crowned king. When that time comes, I will be willing to discuss an alliance.”
“An alliance? I’ll need something better than that if I’m going to risk war with Shiratorizawa.”
“Such as?”
“I want your knight, Iwaizumi Hajime, to join my ranks.”
“Absolutely not! He’s the captain of the guard. Essential.”
“Well, it’s between your sister or your knight. Pick one, because you can’t have both.”
Tooru hesitated, but ultimately responded, “My sister. I want my sister back.” His head hung low, ashamed that he had to make such a choice in the first place. He just hoped he was making the right one.
“It’s settled then. I’ll return your sister, and you transfer Iwaizumi to me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to enjoy the remainder of this party.” And with that, he left, leaving Tooru second-guessing everything.

The reception party was finally winding down, and you and Wakatoshi both decided to officially end it since the guests were steadily dwindling.
“If we could have everyone’s attention please,” called Wakatoshi, “we’d like to bring this evening to a close, as it is getting quite late. My wife and I both appreciate you all celebrating our marriage with us and we wish you all a safe journey back. If you cannot make it back to your respective kingdoms tonight, please allow me to offer you accommodations here. If you choose to stay here, please speak with my butler, Goshiki.”
Some guests left, while others went to inquire with Goshiki about rooms for the night. You scanned the room, trying to find your family and friends so you could wish them either goodnight or goodbye. It didn’t take long to find them, since Makki and Mattsun were causing a ruckus, as per usual. You told Wakatoshi that you would only be gone a few minutes and made your way over. Kyoutani saw you first, and his bow alerted the rest of them that someone was approaching.
“Will you be leaving or staying?” you asked.
“Sorry, dear, but we’ll be returning to Seijoh,” answered your mother, a sad smile adorning her aging face.
You couldn't lie, you were a bit disappointed, but you understood. They had a kingdom to take care of, and they can’t do that from another country. You hugged everyone goodbye, with the exception of Kyoutani whom you’d only met that night and who seemed like he would be less than appreciative of being hugged. Your brother was last, and when he hugged you back he leaned down to whisper in your ear, “Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” He didn’t clarify what he meant and you didn’t get the chance to ask before being pulled in again by Makki, Mattsun, and Iwa. It was a tearful group hug. It wasn’t like you would never see them again, but you had grown up with them and they were family in every way except blood.
Afterwards, you returned to Wakatoshi’s side, eyes red and watery, and watched everyone leave. When it was just you and him in the otherwise empty ballroom, he turned to you and tilted your face upwards with a gentle hand on your chin. It would take a blind man to miss the tear tracts on your face.
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” He brought his hands to either side of your face, his eyes frantically inspecting every inch of your face for signs of injury.
You chuckled, “No, I’m fine. Just sad. This is all really new, y’know? I’ve never been away from home.”
Wakatoshi’s shoulders slumped, and he heaved a sigh of relief. “I see. That’s completely understandable. I don’t expect you to adjust to such a big change overnight. No one does.”
“Thank you, Wakatoshi.” His words were reassuring, and you were truly thankful for them. They hadn’t fixed the problem, only time could do that, but they had made you feel better. He grabbed your hand in his, “Come, I’ll show you to your bedchambers.”
You followed him through the palace in silence. You were sheltered but not so much as to not know what is expected to occur on one’s wedding night. By the time you reached your bedroom, you were so tense you were practically shaking. This, of course, did not go unnoticed by Wakatoshi. A soothing squeeze of his palm around yours and you looked up at him. “Are you alright, my love?” You softened and smiled. “Yes. Just missing home.” He eyes you warily but drops your hand to open the large oak doors for you.
It was an impressive room, but the first thing to draw your attention was a music box sitting on the end of your bed. It was from your previous room in a Seijoh, an heirloom from your late grandmother. But you’d left it there. You approached the bed to pick it up before looking to Wakatoshi for an explanation. He followed you further into the room before taking the box from your hands and placing it on the bedside table so that he could take your hands in his.
“A wedding gift. I noticed you seemed rather attached to it so I contacted your mother and asked permission to have it brought here for you. I know it’s not much, but-”
You didn’t allow him to finish his sentence, as you tackled him in a hug. He tensed at the initial contact, but quickly wrapped his arms around you. “Thank you, Toshi. It’s perfect.” Though you couldn’t see it due to your face being buried in his chest, the man blushed and held you tighter. The hug lasted until you moved your head to look at him, but he was already admiring you. “I’m glad it makes you happy. I know the circumstances of our marriage are not ideal, but I care for you greatly. That being said, we do not have to consummate this marriage tonight if you do not wish to.” He paused before continuing, and lowered himself to his knees. “I am here only to serve you.”
You looked at him in shock, but quickly evened your expression. “I want you, if you’ll have me.”
He stood up to his full height before leaning down, bringing his face to yours. His hands were on your hips in an instant, pushing you back until the back of your legs met the bed and you fell backwards. But this kiss was nothing like what you had shared on the altar; no longer gentle, this one was rough and passionate. He was everywhere at once, his hands making quick work of your dress. There would be no going back after this.
