Random-Mailbox's Favorite Sailor Moon Fics - Week 7 - Reveals

This week we are doing trope that @floraone (and everyone else I have spoken to) has been looking forward to the most - Reveals! Below is a collection of multi-chapters and one-shots that stood out the most to me as fitting of this theme.

As always, my apologies in advance for spoiling some of these for you (Fic Titles are linked to either FFN or AO3 entries)

The Reveal - @kasienda

When talking about Reveals as a trope - this series is the quintessential reading material for anyone in this fandom. It is a mix of one-shots and semi-connected stories that show the impacts of being superheroes on everyday life, friends and family.

Revelations - Shelliebelle

A one shot that I seriously think belongs with @kasienda 's Reveal series. Mamoru figures out that Sailor Moon is Usagi based on her sheer exhaustion and corresponding injuries. He then tries to help her best he can.

Win a Date with Tuxedo Mask! - @tinacentury

One of the cutest reveal stories I have ever read! Motoki, who hears and sees everything, decides to meddle a bit and gets involved in helping Mamoru raise money for his old orphanage, as well as getting his friends together. We get a very confident Usagi and Mamoru who is jealous of himself and trying to do his best suave Tuxedo Mask imitation.

Impulse - @areptiledysfunction1107

Tuxedo mask shoves Sailor Moon out of the way of a Youma attack and gets hit with a mysterious fog. Next morning, Mamoru starts seeing things (or is imagining technically?) that are quite risqué and keep getting progressively worse, causing him to start acting a bit out of character (There is also super cute art throughout the story too!)

Since I Found Out - @lyraterra

Super fun multichapter that is based around the OG anime's Dark Kingdom arc - except the reveal of identities taking place in the story's first chapter. This change guides the retelling of the events of the original story in a new and exciting way - adding in psychometry, soul bonds and saving the Shitennou.

Perfect Imperfection - @allyunabridged

Tuxedo Mask accidentally figures out who Sailor Moon is in the middle of a battle, and realizes how much of Usagi’s behavior is due to her Senshi duties . As the week progresses, he does his best to let her get to know him better without the usual bickering. Except old habits die hard, now impacting their teamwork in battle. Adorable, fluffy ending to this one.

Deception - @floraone

When Luna finds Usagi and turns her into Sailor Moon, Mamoru and her have been together for 6 years and are currently living in the same apartment. Luna insists that Usagi absolutely cannot tell her significant other (that she trusts with everything!) about this, leading to some very questionable excuses and hilarity as Tuxedo Mask takes full advantage of figuring her identity out for himself.

Day 3. "Whatcha staring at?" - @lilliebellfanfics

The lemoniest story of the bunch. Usagi is pining after Tuxedo Mask, thinking about their last “get together”. Tuxedo Mark has a hunch of who Sailor Moon is and after following her for a few days, finds her taking a bath at the Hikawa shrine.

D’aimer et D’être Aimé - @she-dreams-in-pink

Mamoru finds Usagi at the counter at The Crown working hard on what he presumes is homework, earning him a scoff when he tries to joke about it with her. But who is this letter really for and what is it about?

Drunken Confessions - SailorMoonFanForever

Girls, Motoki and Mamoru get together at Mamoru’s apartment to have a little fun in a safe environment. Alcohol + Game of Truth and Dare end up lowering Usagi’s inhibition and cause her to admit things to Mamoru that she wasn’t planning on telling.

Miraculous Musings: Vignettes of a Miracle Romance (Chapter 28: hidden identity) - @goddessalthena

Mamoru keeps writing something on napkins while having his coffee at the front counter of The Crown Arcade. What if Usagi notices? Or one time he drops it on the ground “by accident” before leaving?

I know why I love Sailor Moon so much. I'm the same person who's favorite Disney movie is Sleeping Beauty. I live for the fairy tales and the romance and bound by fate love stories. And you know what? Sailor Moon is just like Sleeping Beauty. Serenity and Endymion are just like Aurora and Phillup.

So now I'm going to go on a rant about how the movie and series are similar.

Sailor Moon and Sleeping Beauty

Sailor Moon Summary:

A Prince and Princes destined to be together. Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom Silver Millennium and Prince Endymion of the Earth kingdom Elysium, were drawn to each other by their desire to protect the Earth and they ended up falling in love. However, tragedy befalls them and they both are killed in a war spurred on by an evil force. They are reborn centuries later as Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba. Unaware of their past lives, they encounter each other often once Usagi reaches her 2nd year of middle school. They are pulled toward one another by the Mystical Silver Crystal and their desire to find it. Usagi fights enemies as Sailor Moon along with her fellow guardians and Mamoru as Tuxedo Mask. Mamoru is killed by the enemy which triggers the memories of their past lives. After many events Usagi defeats the evil force that brought her kingdom to ruin and reunites with her love Mamoru. The two fight side by side and eventually come to rule the earth together as Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion.

Sleeping Beauty Summary:

A young prince and a tiny princess are betrothed to one another. Princess Aurora is born and a celebration is held. In the midst of the celebration, the evil Maleficent places a curse on the princess for not being invited to the event. In fear of this curse 3 fairies take Aurora with them into hiding and raise her not revealing her identity until her 16th birthday. On this day the princess, Now called Briar Rose roams the nearby forest as she catches the attention of Prince Phillup. Unaware of each other's identities they end up falling in love. Later the fairies reveal to Briar Rose her identity as the princess and forbid her from seeing the man she met again. When Phillup goes to Aurora's cottage he is captured by Maleficent. The princess is taken to the palace and is lured by the curse of Maleficent to pick her finger. The princess dies and the fairies take it upon themselves to rescue Phillup and defeat Maleficent. Phillup slays her and awakens his princess with true love's kiss.

OKAY with that out of the way! Here are the very striking similarities.

An evil villiainess arrives, insulted at not being invited and curses the child to die:

In their teen years a prince and princess encounter each other not knowing who they are, wary at first:

They dance together as they fall in love:

The two are torn apart and the princess cries denying her identity only wanting to be with her love:

The princess falls victim to the curse by the villainess and dies (for Serenity this is a memory. She is cursed to die as an infant and ends up killing herself in grief of Endymion dying):

The villian is defeated and the princess is awoken by a kiss from her prince:

The prince and princess now together, live happily ever after:

So YES Sailor Moon is the Sleeping Beauty of Shojo. Thank you very much.

Sailor Moon really is my ride or die franchise. Is it weird to say that I like that most of the fellow fans are also older?? We got taxes to worry about, them young kids can worry about drama and stuff

I am a mutlishipper and I’ll draw about anyone

What inspires you to create works for Usagi and Mamoru?

How sweet they are together and how they get to grow over the story. Most franchises the couple doesn’t get together till the very end! We get these two through most of the story ! They are goofs!! Sweet dorky goofs would want to support each other despite not always knowing the best way how at the moment.

Do you tend to work on multiple projects (WIPs) simultaneously or try to finish one at a time?

Uhhhh I kinda bounce but prefer one at a time

Do you prefer large projects (chaptered fics, webtoons/zines, highly detailed art) or small projects (one-shots or simple art)?

I wish I had time for chaptered comics!!! There are so many amazing fans that do that I admire the ground they walk on. Mostly just stand alone pictures and doodles

Comedy and romance. I’m not a angst girl

Is there anything you haven’t explored artistically and would like to try?

Multi page comics! I’m just so bad with story and feel I get all the characters wrong 🤣 it would cool to do more collabs with fic writers

What are your thoughts on Sailor Moon and its characters? I'm personally still surprised over how ahead of its time it was and how much it holds up in today's media.

I was going to answer this ask while I watched Promise of the Rose last night but it’s not available where I watch it 😭 this is devastating…

Anyhoo, I have a LOT of thoughts re:Sailor Moon! I'll list them below, rapid-fire style, in no particular order. I also have no idea what the consensus is so there may be some hot takes I’m just not aware of haha :P

I had no idea how much of a little shithead Usagi was! I guess seeing gifs and images from her I had a very different concept of what she'd be like, but I really love how much of a gremlin she can be.

For such a romance-obsessed series (which I don't mind and actually quite enjoy most of the time) they don't actually show you much of the actual relationships, which I think is a shame. You've already sold me on Usagi and Mamoru, but I need more meat on those bones! Show me them going on cute dates! Show me arguments that last longer than two lines (and are often motivated by magical destiny BS)! You're telling me about a love that has managed to survive through death and the thousands of years in between their past and present lives, now show me it!

I'm such a sucker for the premise of S1. The sense of love and duty persisting through death and reincarnation, the struggle to regain the memories of a past life while keeping your footing in the modern world, the classic balancing act between being a teenager and having the weight of the world on your shoulders as a superhero, the engaging dynamics between the members of the Dark Kingdom and, of course, the bonds between the Sailor Scouts...

...and that finale, goddamn. What a freakin' sucker punch. It's one thing to allude to the fact that death is a very real possibility when facing the enemy throughout the series, but the show hadn't done much more than flirt with it a bit here and there. Seeing that flashback to the Silver Millennium and realizing that not only is it possible for them to die in the line of duty, but that it's actually a very likely prospect...and then following through with it! That sequence, as each of the Guardians sacrifices themselves to clear the way for Sailor Moon, with Usagi going through pretty much every stage of grief in a mere few minutes, had me slack-jawed the whole way through. And Usagi finally fully embracing her identity as Princess Serenity and sacrificing herself as her mother once did, wishing for something as simple (as understandably selfish, as heartbreakingly yearning) as giving herself and her beloved friends their normal lives back, free of their burden. Genuinely perfect ending.

I think the only part that doesn't work for me about the S1 finale is that the monsters that kill the Guardians aren't shown to be special in any way, just volunteers from Beryl's monster hordes. I wish they'd been her elite royal guard that never left her side or something, otherwise why wait to deploy what are clearly your most powerful mooks? It makes the lieutenants lesser by comparison.

The bespoke animations for each of the signature attacks (and the transformation sequences, of course) are great, but there's like...no fighting in this show, which is disappointing, ngl. I know this isn't a shonen and I'm not asking for complex fight coreography, but trading a few blows, damaging the environment, just generally showcasing that the Guardians aren't just soundbites and elemental ranged attacks would be much appreciated.

I regret to inform you all I've become a Sailor Earth truther. NARU DESERVES BETTER (or at least, she deserves to have superpowers so she doesn't get her life force drained every other episode, jfc)

S2 had kind of atrocious pacing - I didn't mind it having two distinct arcs, but the Ail and An arc dragged on for too long and too much time was spent with Rubeus relative to the other Black Moon clan members, so it really robbed them of their impact. I felt great satisfaction when Rubeus was defeated, but the others...eh. I did love the Spectre Sisters and their decision to become normal humans, and Wiseman/Death Phantom (though he kinda came outta nowhere) was super cool. Never underestimate the stark image of a bleached human skull and a cool voice haha.

I feel like most people probably find Chibiusa really annoying (and I was right there with them a few times, admittedly), but remembering that she's a terrified, traumatized child really helped. It was utterly bizarre of Usagi (and the show, to some extent) to consider her any sort of rival for Mamoru's love, that was uncomfortable and ridiculous. The reveal that it's her fault that Crystal Tokyo went to shit was great, I loved that (and generally the implication that the Black Moon Clan is only a problem because they were excluded from utopia as part of Silver Millennium 2.0 for very vague reasons felt like a very intriguing detail, like Neo-Queen Serenity might've also made a huge mistake there.)

Just generally speaking, I wish the Sailor Scouts were a bit more consistent in battle; they're either utterly dominating or getting absolutely destroyed within moments of arriving.

The drip (as the kids say) in this show is impeccable lol everyone always looks amazing

I could go on but you get the idea! I just started Sailor Moon S yesterday so I'm still trucking along. If there's anything I didn't mention that you want my opinion on feel free to hit me with another ask!

Kagome and Inuyasha, Sango and Miroku, Jonathan and Erina, Usagi and Mamoru. All of these pairings and several more have made me higher my expectations. Like bro-

You gonna fight for me and gently cradle my head and understand me and are we gonna learn from each other and are we gonna be so deeply in love that not even time can keep us separated like Inuyasha and Kagome?????

You gonna be a gentleman and are we gonna have a romance since our childhood and are you gonna learn to get stronger so we can have normal lives after all evil has been defeated like Jonathan and Erina????

You gonna have my back and fight demons for me and with me as my equal and are we gonna spend the rest of our lives together after defeating an evil demon lord like Sango and Miroku????

You gonna bicker with me and slowly have us fall so deeply in love that when we die our souls are reborn so we can meet again in another life and be happy like Usagi and Mamoru????

[Mamoru x Fem!Reader]

[Part Seven]

a/n; so for this season I'm focusing more on Mamoru and Y/n's relationship so, i'll have a lot of og, scenes to do it.. and, as well have elements from the show... i'll use the manga fo chibi-usa introduction and, of course i'll have that dramatic break up scene that hurts me..... ]

so this chapter maybe short i'm more focused on having interaction's between y/n and mamoru just to add more to their rekindling romance, even though they don't know that they know each-other. If it seems to be moving fast in them rebuilding their relationship they once had, I don't think it is im my opinoi.

I know the moonlight knight is the embodiment of Mamoru's strong love for usagi.. in the story its y/n..but in this... some feelings are still there in Mamoru, but they are because he has a slight tiny tincy wincy little crush on y/n even though he doesn't know much about her.. the two have really cute interactions in which for them, feel strangely familiar....

i can't wait to do the babysitting chapter.. oh, goodness i'm gonna die at how cute its gonna be..

Also for the flashbacks,, I know its not explicitly mentioned in the manga, but for me I think the reincarnations of Mamoru and Usagi, Endymion and Serenity.. Were the same age so they were like possibly 16 or 17.. Maybe but for Serenity.. she would be 100 or something due to the silver crystal granting an 1000 live longevity.

So Endymion and Y/n are 17.. don't judge me...

[Y/n] sighed as she looked up, at the stars. A longing look on her face, every night she would do this. It always seemed to bring her comfort, as she looked up at the sky. She noticed something, making its way down. She gasps, as it crashes into the ground. And, explodes.

Her eyes widened, as she looks at it. And, runs out of her apartment complex to get a look at it. Everyone in the surrounding area, made their way to the crater that was left by the explosion. They all stood around the edge,

"Musta been a meteor!" Rei's grandfather says, looking at it.

[Y/n] looks curiously at the boulder, "No way!! All candy is 80% off?! Sounds like my kinda place!" Usagi shouts, looking at the flyer.

"If all you ever eat are sweets, you'll turn your body into a giant bun, too." Mamoru says, looking at Usagi.

"Hey I know that obnoxious voice." She says, looking towards him.

"Only you call me that!" She shouts at him,

"The thought of a Bun-head turning into a bun-body is almost too much for me to take." He says, causing [Y/n] to snicker a bit, trying to hold back a laugh at this interaction. A familiar feeling washed over her, this felt so familiar..

Why was it?

[Time-Skip]

[Y/n] was at the library, looking at books about the stars. Even though she already knew so much, it wouldn't hurt to know more. She got up from the chair and, checked out the books she was reading. She left the library and, made her way back to the apartment while reading her book, as she looked at the book.

She didn't realize she bumped into someone, causing them to both drop their books. "I-I'm so sorry." She says, bending down, to help pick up their books.

"It's okay, seems I'm being bumped into a lot lately." He says, to her and, she looks up at him. It was Mamoru,

"O-Oh, hi Mamoru." She says, looking up at him.

He looks up at her, "Hi, Y/n. Second time bumping into me today." He says to her and, chuckles nervously. Picking up his dropped books,

"I-It seems so.." She says, smiling at him. The two then seem to reach out for the same book, their hands touching. A familiar warmth washing over them, the two look into each-other's eyes. The two quickly pull their hands away, from each-other a slight blush spread across their faces.

[Y/n] turns back and, reaches for the book. Picking up the last one of Mamoru's books, she looks at him. "A-ah, sorry for bumping into you again." She says, to him nervously.

"It's okay." He says, taking the books from her. And, handing her, her own books. She smiles at him, as he helps her off the ground. The two smile at each-other, the two look into each-other's eyes.

"H-Have a nice day Mamoru." She says, bowing at him. Then walking away, a blush spread across his face... Her heart was racing and, she didn't know why. She barely knew Mamoru, but for some reason she felt she's known him for her entire life.

This was so weird...

An saw this and, gasps. "Ugh! Who does she think she is?!" She says, as she was about to walk towards Mamoru, she fell to her knees. Clenching her chest, needing more energy.

[Y/n] sat at her desk, taking notes on Stars. For her university, she sighed as she typed away. As she did, she couldn't stop thinking about Mamoru. And, again she didn't know why. She groaned and, fell onto the floor. She looked up at the ceiling,

"Get your head outta the clouds, Y/n." She says, looking up at the ceiling. She sighs, she looks out the window once more. And, walks onto her balcony, she looks up at the stars. As she looks up at the stars, she sees Mamoru looking up at them, she looks over at him and, smiles.

He sees her and, smiles back at her. "You must really like the stars." He says and, she giggles and, nods.

"Yes, I love the stars. I absolutely adore them." She says, looking up at them. Her hands, clasps together. He looks at her,

"It's the only thing, that makes me feel close to my mother." She says, to him a smile spread across her face. As she looks, at Mamoru. This moment between them, once again feeling so familiar. The two looking at each-other under the night sky.

The two even though not knowing much about one another, would just have these interactions that seemed like they do know about each-other. Her eyes seemed to sparkle as she stood there underneath the stars, the two just stared at each-other.

[Y/n] looked down, she began playing with her fingers. "I-I should probably get back to working on my paper." She says, blushing. She slowly backs away, a blush spread across her face. She turns back towards him and, jokingly says,

"I-I guess I-I'll see you tomorrow when we bump into each-other." She says jokingly, causing Mamoru to chuckle a bit. Her heart skips a beat,

"I hope so.." He says and, her heart was racing. She felt like she was going to pass out, from embarrassment.She smiles, at this and, looks at Mamoru.

"G-Goodnight Mamoru." She says, her hand over her heart. As she walks into her apartment, she plops onto her bed and, blushes. Her heart racing. She brought the blanket to her face and, squealed quietly to herself. As she lays in the bed, she couldn't stop thinking about him...

All these interactions are so familiar, they feel so familiar. She snuggles her head, into her pillow and, smile. She slowly begins to close her eyes and, falls asleep. As she lays in bed, a monster breaks into her apartment. Causing her to be startled awake, hearing the shattering of glass. She gets out of bed and, grabs the broom that was in her room.

She opened the door to her bedroom and, gasps seeing the monster in front of her. "What the f-.." She says, but was grabbed by the neck by the monster.

"Vampir!" it shouted, as it began to drain her of her energy. She tried to hit the monster with her broom, but the monster snaps it in two. She groans as her energy begins to drain, from her body.

"Y/n!" Atlas shouted, jumping at the monster attacking it. But it flings him away, causing him to hit the wall. The monster drops [Y/n] who falls to the ground in a daze, Usagi now as Sailor Moon runs into the room,

"Y/n!" Sailor Moon shouts, shaking her but [Y/n] is unfazed. The monster attacks Sailor Moon and, begins to drain her energy. Atlas looks at this in shock, "No! Sailor Moon!" He shouts, seeing her struggling. He was conflicted, all they wanted was to have a normal life.

And, [Y/n] and Mamoru, bit by bit were already rekindling their lost romance. She wanted a normal life with him, not having to worry about monsters, coming after them. Or having to save the world and, lose people she loves. Tears brim Atlas eyes, "I'm sorry Y/n! But Sailor Moon needs your help. Become Sailor Luna again!" he says, as a beam comes out of his crescent moon, and it hits [Y/n]'s forehead.

Tears roll down her cheeks, as the memories are beginning to come back. The death of her friends, her dying in Mamoru's arms. And, him staying by her side till the very end.

'No, please let me live a normal life!'

'Please, that's all I want is that so hard to ask for!'

'I don't want to remember! let me live a normal life!'

'Nooo!'

She gasps tears rolling down her cheeks, she smiles sadly at Atlas. "I'm so sorry Y/n.." He says and, she shakes her head.

"There was no other choice." She says, wiping the tears from her eyes. She stands up,

'Lunar Prism Power Make-Up!'

[Y/n] looks at Vampir and, growls. Kicking, it in the face. Sending it flying out her window, "If it wasn't for you we'd be living a normal life, no thanks to you!" She shouts at it, it swings at her and, she dodges it. She jumps do

"Come on, Sailor Moon." She shouts, looking towards her, Who looks up at her and, nods.

"Right." Sailor Moon says, as she touches her tiara.

'Moon Tiara Action '

'Lunar Beam!''

They watch as the monster disappears and, a card appears before them. Falling onto the ground and, fading away...

"Sailor Moon and Sailor Luna was it? I had no Idea someone like you was on this planet." Ail said, appearing as an apparition.

"Who are you people?!" [Y/n] shouts, at them.

"Nomadic Nobles of the universes I'm Ail." He says, looking at them.

"And I am An." An says,

"You were the ones who sent that monster, weren't you" Sailor Moon shouted, at them.

"Yeah but that was only a sneak peek at was what to come. " An says, laughing as they fade away.

[Time-Skip]

[Y/n] groaned, as the sound of glass crunches as she walks on the floor. "Man, this is gonna cost so much to get repaired." She says, looking down. She couldn't deal with it tonight it was going, to have to be tomorrow before she could do anything. Atlas was in her arms, she looked down at him and, said,

"Looks like we're going to have to stay at a hotel for a bit." She says, to him. Looking down, as she left her apartment and, making her way to the nearest hotel. Once in the hotel [Y/n] plopped onto the bed and, laid her head down on the pillow.

"Y/n?" Atlas says, jumping onto the bed walking towards her. "Are you okay?" He asks and, she groans and, shakes her head. He notices tears in her eyes,

"No, even though I have all my memories back, so does Usagi.. I know eventually the others will, but... I don't know why I have this feeling Mamoru will never remember me.." She cries into the pillow,

"M-Maybe, I can try to help him remember; but... I have this feeling nothing I say or do will help him at all. I love him so much and, now I felt before I had my memories back, that we were slowly rekindling what we'd lost." She mumbles, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm sure he'll remember you eventually, you're Princess Y/n and he's Prince Endymion. You two are star-crossed lovers, who always find a way back to each other." He says to her and, [Y/n] looks at him. A smile spreads, across her cheek.

"Thanks Atlas." She says, petting him and, he purrs. She looks out the window, looking at the stars. As a picture of image of Mamoru's smile enters her head, tears stream down her cheeks.

- [ Flashback ] - Silver Millennium

[Y/n] was looking down at the ring, that Endymion gave her. She fiddles with it a smile, spread across her face. As she looks up at the moon, her hands clasp together. In prayer, hoping for the future for her and, Endymion to be allowed together.

So they could start, a life together. And, as well have both the Earth and Moon kingdom together as one, where they could live together in peace. Where her and Endymion, could be happy and, as well either have a prince or princess of their own.

She wanted to have a future with, him. That was her ultimate dream, for both kingdom's to be one. A life she wanted for both of them, to have a happy and, prosperous kingdom. She smiles as she looks up at the stars, as she looks down back at the ring.

She was so lost in her own world, she didn't notice her sister coming up behind her. She tapped on her shoulder, causing [Y/n] to jump.

"Ah, Serenity!" She shouts, turning back towards her sister.

"Please you, must keep it a secret." She says, to her showing her the ring.

"I love him so much, and I know it's forbidden." She says, fiddling with the ring a smile on her face.

"What if he's using you?" Serenity asks, taking her sister's hand into her own, [Y/n] shakes her head, and looks at Serenity.

"That's not like him, he'd never do anything like that. He loves me, I can see it in his eyes." [Y/n] says, to her a smile on her face.

"But...I'm worried about you. I don't want to see you hurt." Serenity says to her and, she intertwines her fingers with her sisters.

"You won't he promises to protect me." [Y/n] says, smiling at her looking back up at the stars. She smiles at her, Serenity looks at her sister.

"Then.. I'm happy for you.." Serenity says to her, [Y/n] wraps her arms around Serenity, she hugs her sister back.

"For the both of you.." She says and, [Y/n] giggles at her.

"And, the ring is beautiful." She says and, [Y/n] nods.

"It is, I don't know if I can live in a world without him." [Y/n] says, looking at the Earth.

"I want to be there with him, every second of everyday. In his arms, where I feel safe." She says, wrapping her arms around herself.

"In his arms, is where I belong." She says, smiling looking up at the stars.

"My Endymion, the love of my life.. My one true love.." She says, looking at the garden.

[Time-Skip]

[Y/n] was on Earth dancing underneath the night sky with Endymion, a smile spread across both of their face. She giggled, as she looked into Endymion's eyes, his eyes that she'd always get lost in. Like he would for hers, her eyes that shined brighter than any other star in the sky he would say.

Endymion placed his hand on her cheek and, she accepted it. Placing her hand over his, she leaned into his touch. She blushed at what she was thinking, "What is it, my star." He asks and, she looks up at him a blush spread across her cheeks.

"I-I was just thinking about, how it be life if we ever had a little prince or princess." She says, looking down embarrassed.. Endymion blushed at this, but he smiled. Placing his fingers underneath her chin, causing her to look up at him.

"i'm sure, if we were to ever have a prince or princess. They'd have eyes that shine brighter than any other star and, your beauty. Kind, sweet, caring personality." He says to her and, she smiles at him placing her hand on his cheeks.

"And, I know that they have your, kind, caring, personality. And, will go to any lengths to protect the ones they love." She says, as the two intertwine their fingers and, share a kiss. Thinking about what it would be like, to have a prince and princess.

"I can tell out future will be bright, full of love. Happiness." She says, snuggling her head into Endymion's chest. He places his head, on the top of her head.

"Elara.." She says, smiling up at him.

"That's what I want to name our future princess, when we become one." She says, and Endymion smiles, placing his hand on her cheek.

"Elara.." He says, nodding. And, she hugs him giggling.

[ugh... i was gonna have the reader be secretly pregnant with his child.. but i decided not too...] ..

SIKE! They are in love what do you expect.. but she's in the really early stages and, isn't getting any symptoms..

[Y/n] smiles as she looks up at the stars, her hand clasps together. Praying,

'Please, let the Moon and Earth Kingdom be one kingdom, one day. Were Endymion and I, and possibly our future child can, live together happily. As a kingdom, that is peaceful. Where we aren't separated from the ones, we love.''

She says, looking up at the sky. Tears rolling down her cheeks, "My Endymion." She says, happily. Placing her hand, on her stomach, smiling softly.

"My little Elara." She says, rubbing it gently. Feeling the tiny child in her stomach..She looks at the stars. But it was that same day, the Moon Kingdom fell. Where she lost Endymion, which in grief she took her own life.

[Flash-back Ended]

[Y/n] placed her hand on her stomach, tears brimming her eyes. She placed her hand over her mouth,

"We were gonna have a princess." She says, choking back a sob. Closing her eyes, looking up at the ceiling. [Y/n], smiles looking down at the blanket.

She looks down at her stomach, even though she wasn't pregnant. It felt like she could feel the small child in her stomach, growing. A child they had created together through love in secret, she looked towards the window. And, up at the sky.

Tears streaming down her cheeks, for a child she never had the chance of knowing. "Elara.." She says, softly looking up at stars. She closes her eyes and, smiles softly.

House Setup

So here is some notes on the house setup and how I plan to “play” this house for all your entertainment...

Game Mods:

I am using mods for this game, mainly MCCC. Basically I have all the autonomy set to super high including woohoo (adult sexy time), romance, etc.

I also obviously had to change the settings to allow so many sims in one house...

*prays her game doesn’t die*

Relationships:

I preset everyone’s relationships, mainly to either friends, good friends, or true friends (max friendship) depending on what their canon relationships are. The main exceptions are Seiya and Haruka dislike each other, and Seiya and Mamoru are neutral.

For romantic relationships, Haruka and Michiru are married and have max romance bar. Usagi and Mamoru are dating, and also have max romance. No one else was pre-set with romance points.

Skills, etc:

I did pre-set some skills for each sim, mostly in line with their canon personalities. I won’t give details but it all is pretty basic: Michiru has very high violin, piano and painting skills, Mako is good at all kinds of cooking and baking, Ami is good at programing, etc.

Jobs:

I’m not giving anyone careers right away. Rather, if they are offered a job via the phone due to high skill, and I think that job fits them, then I will accept and they will start working. The exceptions are Chibiusa and Hotaru who are both in high school. I have cheated the household with a ton of money so money isn’t an issue.

Control:

I’m mainly going to be leaving them to their own devices, only stepping in occasionally to mix things up, hold events/take them on outings, and to try to make sure no one dies...

Also, I added Luna and Artemis but I have their needs frozen cus animals in sims are annoying to take care of and constantly need attention it seems (ok pretty realistic...)

Lastly, I've seen some people mention that Norma is bisexual for their propaganda, but so is Usagi! Yes, she ends up with Mamoru, however throughout the series and the manga she develops numerous crushes on women. Haruka, the character above, is one of the examples. She also very commonly remarks on other women's attractiveness throughout the series.

And while the anime (especially 90s version) hid Usagi's queerness, the original manga shows many instances of her crushing on girls.

Lastly, no matter if you're a die hard Sailor Moon fan or someone who watched Sailor Moon as a kid, her cultural impact is undeniable. Sailor Moon is one of the most iconic, one of the best written, characters ever created. She led to the modern resurgence of currently popular pop culture themes such as first love, personalification of celestial bodies, powerful women in media, fashion trends from the 90s to today. And while several characters had wonderful style, Usagi's was the most influential of them all:

She influenced 90s comeback, high chromatic clothing, preppy style sweaters and crop tops, full pastel, big cropped denim jackets on top of preppier styles, and overall femme styles.

Her influence also shines through fansites that have been running for decades.

With Stars’ manga vs. anime, I feel like while the manga had everyone die early on, the heart of the arc was still on Usagi’s friendships with the girls + her romance with Mamoru. Her thoughts kept constantly going back to them, which makes sense because those are the bonds that the whole series had been building up till now.

In contrast, while the anime has the girls alive, I feel like so much effort is emphasized towards the pointless love triangle subplot which brings the season down as a whole. I get the manga finished earlier but...they could have focused on other things lmao, like inners + outers bonding

Crit Post: The Break Up Arc

You know what’s hard?

Wanting to write an essay totally dismantling the Break Up Arc and explaining not excusing Mamoru actions in a Introverted perceptive.

I have been trying to figure out how the do it for the longest.

Because really there are more things wrong with the break up arc than just Mamo breaking up with her, acting cold, and not telling her about the dreams.

There are more logistics to it and how it honestly could have work with a introverted and female touch to it.

Because I’m introverted and some of the things Mamo did in the 90′s anime ( and the manga) makes sense to me as I got older.

I say this

Some Introverts have a hard time getting close to someone or telling their inter thoughts. We are honestly better listeners than actual talkers. You can vent to us for hours( even tho it can get draining) but getting something out of us if we not comfortable with you yet is like pulling teeth.

We are private as hell and let some people see sides of us of what want to see and we internalized a lot of shit in.

We would rather hold all in, address the problem themselves and not include no one else in it. We would rather handled things by themselves.

Is our intent to hurt some one? No It’s honestly the last thing we want to do.

Actually our intention is NOT to hurt someone which is the reason why don’t tell things. We put walls around them so order they want get hurt as well. Honestly we can be our own worst enemy sometimes.

So when we do find that person that we can trust and have our backs they get the flood of words and emotions that we have. When we find someone to vent to we vent.

So if you look back at what I said is that true to Mamo? HELL YES

Mamoru’s intention in the break up was never to hurt Usagi but to save her because he saw the dreams that shook the hell out of him thinking the one person that he love the most could die again.

Being a reincarnated prince who had a ill fated romance with a princess which ended in tragedy and now seeing your current girlfriend who you just got with who is the reincarnated princess die again? Which it seems like it’s could be your fault that she’s in this again?

Yeah should shake anyone who sees the love of their life dies again after receiving a second chance to love....

With his tack record of having Dreams about SliMli and the fact he probably felt it was his fault she died as Serenity in the past makes sense he would be absolutely shook if he’s having Prophetic Dreams of Upcoming Doom ( PDUD if you watch my livebloging of SMC season 3 I’m bring this back. lol) )with a booming face saying saying “ Oh Yeah Usagi is going to die again if you don’t stay away from her. “

His first thought wasn’t “ Oh maybe it’s an enemy is sending me this dreams” or “ maybe I need to talk to her about this or Rei who have prophetic dreams like me” his though was “ Oh shit She may die again because of me. I have to protect her from me. Even if that means hurting myself.”

Was he thinking rationally? No! Hell No!

How would an 17 -18 year old react to seeing his new girlfriend who he shares a tragic past with dying on their wedding day in a dream? This supposed to be the happiest day of their lives and end up being the ending of November Rain by Guns and Roses Video ( yall please look that video up. it’s a classic) I’m surprised Endy didn’t have the dream being centered on her dying as Moon. ( Oh shit yall)

So yes the dream shook him.

Yes he wasn’t thinking rationally and thought a break up would be the best option out of it and she would be still alive to save the world....

Here’s where the problem comes in with the behavior..

Remember when I said that Mamo was Emotionally Detracted to Usagi in the first two seasons?

Actually he was only Emotionally Detached from her in the first season hence the teasing and borderline bullying.

Emotional Detachment -an inability or unwillingness to connect with other people on an emotional level. For some people, being emotionally detached helps protect them from unwanted drama, anxiety, or stress.

He was actually Emotionally Attached to her in second season in which this is where the problem comes in.

Emotionally Attached -having feelings of concern and care for someone, and not wanting the friendship or relationship to end. It's an emotional connection to another person.

Mamoru Chiba trying to act emotionally detached that this doesn’t phase him or she meant nothing to him to Usagi Tsukino but failing so bad at it that he made some decisions that where horrible and was borderline abusive.

Because seriously some of the shit he said and did even tho he looked like he was going to break down crying everytime... (Tears on the Motorcycle Hamlet..)

Because season one he was an jerk to her that actually like get her pissed off for fun meanwhile in season two he was pretending to be an asshole to her so she stay away which is harder to do. Especially the fact he wants to be close to her and knows he can’t.

The tactics that were used and how the narrative went about it is the problem.

Let name the things that the narrative had Mamo do and the reason why this arc needs to be in a dumpfire..

1. Lying to her didn’t help at all cause it completely breaks the trust they supposed to have. Him saying cold and mean things, like he didn’t love her, that he doesn’t like weak girls, acting an ass when he passed her down the street crushed her already low self esteem I will never forgive the narrative for letting him say “ I don’t like weak girls.” BOY

I think it could have been a way to still do the break up without him lying to her pe se but not telling her about the dreams yet due to the fact he hold things in and want to handle himself. I don’t know what it would be. Maybe he start to distance himself from her and the tell her that they got together to quickly because they barely know things about each other and should be friends first then see where this would go? Since they didn’t really have to time to really build up their friendship? That they shouldn’t be together solely because of the past and because they actually have a thing for each other? I mean I think it would be WAY less messier than him saying that he didn’t love her or he didn’t like weak girls. Also I truly believe that she would be upset at first about that but he realized he’s right and agree. That way he wouldn’t have to be cold to her and keep some distract but still be friends with her.

2. Using Motoki’s sister as a pawn to show that he moved on and hoping that Usagi would hate him which he publicly humiliated her in front of her friends by telling Motoki ‘s sister that she was somebody that he knew was completely wrong. ( Which still hunted her cause in a episode in S he was taking Motoki’s sister home on his bike which Usagi almost freaked out thinking about the last time she was on his bike) Then turn around in the same episode and humiliate her again saying that he didn’t love her after he saved her made it worst

This is where it went from unintentionally trying to hurt her to intentionally hurt her by using his best friend sister to do it in which almost actually killed her. ( Guys we don’t talk about her binge eating in front of the fridge while crying enough. We don’t and we need too. If it wasn’t for the fact this essay is already getting long. I need to rewatch that episode again so I can do a full rant on that scene) That honestly should have been the end because after he intentionally hurted her which cause her to almost die.. He should have said fuck those dreams..

3.It also make look like it was her fault since you had her friends saying that he had his reasons (which he did) instead of by supportive, Chbiusa and Rei joking that she got dumped,Luna not being supportive, and Rei telling her she have to trust him even tho he given her zero reasons to trust him

Now let me drag the Inner senshi and Luna in this for a min..

The break up arc is the reason why I refuse to say that the Usagi and the Inner Senshi friendship was the best in the 90′s anime. You can’t pay me to say that shit.

When you fail to show their friendship at it’s highest peak during one of the most reliable things that happen in the show.. When your core audience is at that age where they starting to have their first loves,boyfriends ,girlfriends and heartaches. When also that audience have friends their age and gender that they talk to help them through that situation. Who show their support and shoulder to lean on. When you fail to show it at a reliable light by showing your core audience that your friends going to tell you “he has his reasons” and sort of “bush it off” instead of being there but then at the end act like they’re bestest best friends ever ?? That act like they supported her since the beginning??

SERIOUSLY

But yeah we do get a scene of Rei teasing her that she got dumped and then telling her that she have to trust him even tho he gave no reasons to trust him. In which Koan Usagi more sound advice than her bestie does but due to fact Koan is evil her advice is looked down upon by the narrative.. Fun times..

I would have killed for scene like this

Where Usagi and the girls are at Rei Shine trying to cheer Usagi up while having a sleepover. They are all eating pizza, watching a movie ,and just having a good time. Just trying to take her mind off of Mamo. Then while in the midst of her laughing ,she starts to cry. She starts to cry and tell them that she have to be strong to get him to love her again. That she have to better herself. That she’s too weak for him. That she have to earn his love back. I just want them to tell her that she doesn’t. That she doesn’t have to earn his love back because she got nothing to prove. That she doesn’t have to change herself cause she’s the strongest person they know. Who have the biggest loving heart ever.To tell her that’s it’s ok ,they support and love her and everything will work at the end. They she have to stop letting it eat her up cause it’s not her fault. Cause they can’t lose their sister and friend like that to her false guilt. After that she tells them she loves them ,they have a big group hug and start laughing through their tears. After that ,they watch movies until they fall asleep. Oh Chibs is with them as well giving her encouragement too.

But nope we didn’t get that.. Don’t get me started with Luna.

Moving on.

Seriously, the narrative went out of its way to make him look like an asshole than he was in season one and her being like “ Even tho you are cold to me I still love you.”

4. Endymion was just used as a scapegoat cause the writers wrote themselves into a hole and he was the only way to explain it even tho it still didn’t make any sense because he was taking a risk messing up his own happiness.

King Endymion could have easy played the guide role in this and help him untap his power like he does in the manga. Like the dreams he sent him could have been vision about Crystal Tokyo and what’s going on. Can you imagine him sending the vison of Serenity in the glass coffin to Mamo?? Or even a dream confirming what he expected in which Chibausa is actually their daughter? Or what the Black Moon Clan is up too? Or even their wedding day without the booming voice? That would have been way more helpful than telling him he needs to stay away from her. In matter of fact he probably tell him he needs to get his shit together because if he don’t he would lose her forever. Because believe me that vision of her in that coffin looking beautiful and regal would have fucked his ass up. He would have totally forget to tell her and their others the things he seen and only focus on that which would be reason why he distanced himself from her.

Would Endymion be sympathy ? Hell Yes because Mamo is younger him before he learned to let go and trust.. He would understand that Mamo didn’t want to bring her into his darkness but he will he make him understand that Usagi is his light to his darkness and together they can do some powerful things. That Usagi does embrace his darkness and light and dark balance each other out.

Or even the dreams are really manifestations of Mamoru’s self-conscious. Meaning that his inner self still trying to keep their walls that Mamo built for so long intact which the way to do so is send dreams of the person that are tearing them down. .That the dreams scare him enough to push her away and built them back up. It will show that Mamo is still afraid of what Usagi is doing. That he’s still afraid of love and not being alone anymore. That he can’t let the six year boy who lost his parents and was alone for so long go.That whole arc could have been focus on him realizing this by looking deep in his heart and finally it letting it all go. That he have let the scared little six year boy who was alone for so many years go so the 18 teenage whose on the edge of become a man embrace something that he deserved so much. Love and companionship.

It was ways to do this without breaking Usagi low esteem worst and making him look like an asshole.

So yes while it’s understandable why he broke up with her cause he was scared of losing her dying which broke him up instead too, the tactics behind it was horrible. The writers didn’t understand how to write for a introverted character like Mamo..

This was more fun than I thought it would be! 1411 words

It should have been a day like any other. Well, not quite like any other. It was a romantic day, and Usagi loved romantic days best of all. Mamoru had taken her to lunch at a very nice Italian place, and Usagi had the baked Ziti, which she thought was probably more romantic than spaghetti, because she wouldn’t be so likely to drip sauce over herself. Then they had gone to the park, where he had just dreamily paddled her around in a rowboat, just the two of them, and now they were strolling on a bridge over the pond, hand in hand.

Usagi was so lucky. Not everyone had a man like Mamoru, who was so good at knowing exactly what romance was, as if he was stealing all his ideas from romance novels and Hallmark movies. So she was wrong before. It should not have been a day like any other. It should have been a perfect day, and very nearly was, as Usagi tilted her head up toward Mamoru’s.

“I’m so lucky to have you.” She said, echoing all of the things that she had previously been thinking only one paragraph before.

“Oh, Usako.” Her took her chin delicately with his hand, and leaned into her, and they kissed softly, the entire world going watercolor in the moment, soft honks of love or perhaps geese surrounding them.

It would have been perfect, except a woman fell from the sky. A woman fell from the sky, a great explosion accompanying her as the sky turned a bright pink in the exact sort of way that Tokyo would immediately forget in less than fifteen minutes, and landed right on top of Usagi, throwing her back to the bridge, the rough wood scraping at her butt as her skirt flew up over her head.

And even that might have been fine, given the manner of unusual things that came into Usagi’s life, and given her general cheerful nature, but for the fact that as she shook herself off, picking a stray piece of grass out of her hair, she looked over to where Mamoru had fallen, only to see the said woman, having so recently fallen out of the sky, straddling him.

“Who--” Her face turned bright red, “Who do you think you are? Get away from Mamoru! Stop...touching him, with yourself!”

“Mamoru?” The woman looked down at him as she touched her chest.

Usagi continued her tirade. “Just what do you think you’re--”

The woman turned to look at her, her eyes sharp and menacing. And yet, familiar. There was something about the woman that Usasgi could not immediately place, but she somehow felt as if she knew. She was angular, with long blonde hair that had an almost oddly pink tone, and her eyes seemed pinkish too, with a hint of world-weary exhaustion in them, though she seemed she could not be too much older than Usagi. She wore a school’s uniform, though it was no school uniform Usagi recognized, and it seemed almost as the idea of a school uniform, more than the actual article. As if someone had gone to costuming, and said the character attended school in Tokyo, and the seamstress had tucked together two or three pictures into one.

It took Usagi to a moment to remember herself, and the nature of her grievance.

“What--what are you doing here? Who are you?”

The woman narrowed her eyes, and smiled in a way that did not seem friendly so much as the rattle of a snake.

“Why, I’m Princess Serenity.”

“Serenity?” Mamoru recovered the gift of speech, but Princess Serenity paid him no mind, simply rose to her feet and faced Usagi.

“And who might you be? I recognize that style, I think.” She crossed her arms. “The buns. But I want to be sure.”

If Mina had been there, she might have tackled Usagi, and given her a quick lecture on the wisdom not telling every woman who fell out of the sky one’s identity immediately, particularly when it was a certain function of one’s life that enemies, more often than not, happened to come out of holes in the fabric of space and time.

But Mina was not there, it was only Mamoru, and Usagi’s small pride, and so she got to her feet, stamped her foot, and said. “There are my signature! I’m Usagi Tsukino, and what’s more, YOU aren’t Princess Serenity, because I’M ---”

From someplace inside Usagi, the spirit of Minako Aino reared up, and Usagi, wide-eyed, clasped both hands over her mouth.

“You’re chubbier than you are in the books,” Princess Serenity looked at her, “But, you look enough like her. So you’re Usagi Tsukino. And if you’re Usagi Tsukino,” she drew a pistol from somewhere in her uniform, “Then we have business.”

She placed the pistol to Usagi’s forehead, and Usagi tried to run through the list of people she could possibly have this sort of business with. Her brand of recklessness tended to get her in trouble with parents, schoolteachers, and the odd restaurant, but it didn’t generally inspire murder. Even when people came through the fabric of space and time to kill her, it was in her professional capacity as Sailor Moon, and never anything that Usagi Tsukino had done specifically.

“Hand over the Silver Crystal.” The woman placed her finger on the trigger.

“This has to be a joke,” Mamoru chuckled, “I mean, that’s got to be a toy or something, I….”

“Shut the fuck up!” She barked over her shoulder, “Unless you want me to just take it by force. Move, and I’ll stop asking. Now,” she looked back to Usagi. “The Silver Crystal. “

Mina was a good leader, in most ways, and Usagi would be the first to say it. She had taught them all about the importance of keeping things quiet, of not letting on what you do and don’t know, of keeping the enemy guessing. MIna was skilled at all of these things, and had worked with her senshi to make them so. She wouldn’t have wanted Usagi to outright refuse, because that would suggest that Usagi knew something, wouldn’t it? She’d practiced resistance to interrogation with all of them, and though Usgi had cried a few times, she’d worked very hard, and so in this moment, she said, as confidently as she could:

“What Silver Crystal?”

Princess Serenity gave a heavy sign and rolled her eyes, her finger still never leaving the trigger. “Don’t try to play dumb with me, you’re just wasting my time. I know you have the Silver Crystal. I know you’ll give it up for the cost of a few tears. So don’t waste both of our times, Usagi. Give me the Silver Crystal.”

“But I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Usagi did, at present, feel more than a little anxious, but she hoped that added something that Michiru would almost certainly call verisimilitude, but she simply thought of as ‘looking realness’ “And I can’t tell you what I don’t know about the Silver Crystal! I mean, the whatever crystal thing it is you’re looking for!”

“You really insist on playing dumb, even after all this?” She put a hand on her hip. “You ARE stupid. Well!”

Before either she or Mamoru could move, or breathe, Princess Serenity pulled the trigger. Usagi had thought about what it might be like to die, a time or two, as she had not yet had the opportunity afforded to her other senshi, and it seemed rude to ask. She let herself fall back, as if into a mattress, giving herself over. There was no pain, in that moment, no rushing ball of light, no staring down on her body as she floated above it, no being dragged into the darkness….actually, there was nothing at all. No wait, there was something. The rising bruise where the back of her head had hit the bridge, and Mamoru shaking her and calling her name.

She opened one eye to see the woman standing there, looking at the gun with a puzzled look in her eyes, and more than a little annoyed.

“It wasn’t loaded?” Mamoru took her by the shoulders. “It wasn’t loaded! Hey, that was taking it too far, you…”

But the minute he turned, she was gone. There was nothing there, on the bridge, simply he and Usagi and the rustle of leaves.

“But I’M Princess Serenity!” Usagi pouted.

Summary: The four generals, Jadeite, Nephrite, Kunzite and Zoisite designed and unleashed a virus to harvest energy, control the human population, and begin overtaking the world for Metalia which awakened the sailor soldiers in their second year at university. The virus rapidly changed the world and their sense of normal. People who are infected have their energy and clarity sapped as a cough, sneezing and bouts of aggressive insanity spread the infection faster than anyone can keep up! Many die after this phase but stronger individuals proceed into a more gruesome phase of infection: As the virus progresses the victims begin to crave blood and attack others under the illusion that their blood lust will cleanse them. Attacks are well documented but governments are overwhelmed with testing. The world needs help!

Usagi, Minako, Ami, Rei, and Makoto must stop the virus from spreading, find a way to heal those infected AND defeat Metalia before it's too late. The soldiers already suffered loss, losing Mamoru, Naru, and Yuuichiro over the last six months with the virus only closing in on them and the world.

On the flip side of these star crossed lovers, Haruka has lost everything to this virus. Unawakened as a sailor soldier, she watched Michiru perish in her fight but continues on in order to complete their mission: find the origin of the virus and destroy it. With nothing left to lose, and an infection that could overwhelm her at any time Haruka was losing hope.

And when two hopeless soldiers crashed into each other they both sense an electricity that seemed like a nostalgic memory. Will they find hope, something to protect?

When Usagi crosses path with Haruka will their fates change?

Together, can they forge a new future?

Chapter 1 (Haruka POV)

At some point you get used to always running.

Sprinting from it all, dashing away; wherever away is. It’s just running. From her, from them, running until there's an all too familiar slimey solitude-cocoon webbing across your eyes; the threads pull every piece of personality, of relatability, away from the faceless passerbys.

At another point you realize that everyone else has been caught in the same webbed mess.The threads of paranoia and mistrust bind us closer than previous vessels like love and friendship. You can never be sure who is safe, who can be trusted.

It didn’t used to be like this. I used to trust someone with everything. But she was taken by the damned virus that’s changing our very idea of normal. It’s going to destroy the world and that’s far from a secret.

These days everyone looks over their shoulder, no matter who walks by.

Under the endless blanket of gray skies that canvassed the autumn months people congeal into a faceless mass every rush hour. It’s as certain as the sun setting or fall’s blank skies. Somehow, I found myself caught in this routine mess.

With a pointless sigh I berated myself for getting slowed and teased with all the smells. While it was this nameless group of people that I wanted to protect from others like myself they always seemed to get in the way of my efforts to protect them.

As if anything could save us anymore.

I weaved through the crowd that still roused at every rush hour. Work was about the only constant flow left driving people. They trotted forward to go home, sleep, rinse and repeat the cycle. Until they too were infected, that is. With the masks they began to feel even more like faceless sheep before a slaughter, unaware of the truth behind the virus and their demise.

Perhaps this cursed reaction to the virus was meant to teach me patience. Maybe that’s why I never became sick with insanity, or terrible illness like—

An intoxicating smell of jasmine and lilacs wrapped around my face in long, golden threads. A soft, small warmth crashed into my core. Were people really this clumsy, still this blindingly trusting?

Without thinking I embraced the small woman radiating this penetrating heat. In that instant I never wanted her to leave my arms.

For a split second it felt as if my heart skipped a beat. As if it held a rhythm these days.

Without skipping a beat I steadied the small woman in my arms. She leaned into the embrace as she found her footing. We both lingered several moments too long as if we were equally lost in each other’s sensations.

As she looked up at me I knew I wanted to see her again.

Piercing, bright blue eyes shined up to me. Her cheeks became cherry stained in tempo with that vivace heartbeat. Her equally flushed lips parted and searched hopelessly for words.

If I had my own heartbeat that stunned, and moderately smitten, expression would have been enough to stop it. Who is she?
