I want to take a moment to talk about Gale's "obsession" with Mystra, because I've had that thrown at me a lot when discussing his character with players who hate him.
Tumblr media
First off, I'd like to emphasize a point that many people already know: Mystra groomed him. Though his exact age when she "slept" with him isn't known, a new document that's been supplied in the epilogue confirms he was merely "eight summers" old when she took him under her wing and sent Elminster to find him. Mystra, in fact, has a vast history of grooming little boys, to the point that many parents hide their sons from her gaze if they show an early aptitude for magic. Though Gale did have other lovers before her, Mystra was really all he knew throughout his childhood, and the power dynamic was not equal. It makes sense that he'd have trouble pulling away from her at first, especially since she convinced him that she/the Weave were his only value in life.
Tumblr media
Second, I want to discuss something most players probably aren't aware of. In D&D lore, there's a place called the City of Judgement. This is essentially D&D limbo, where all mortal souls go to be judged after death. Bad news for atheists, if you don't believe in or worship any gods, you're known as a "faithless", and since no gods will grant a faithless entry into their domain, your soul becomes part of the Wall of the Faithless.
Tumblr media
In short, a faithless' soul will be sucked into the wall, where it will guard the city and suffer endless torment for all eternity. This fate isn't only reserved for faithless, however; it's also a punishment for fallen Chosen or anyone who's been abandoned by their gods. Like Gale. He's absolutely terrified, and he tells you as much if you romance him. If you keep things platonic, he alludes to it during the "go to hell" scene. This is compounded by the fact that raiding demons sometimes attack the City of Judgement, tear souls from the wall, and drag them to the Abyss, where they're used to spawn new low-level demons or to feed their masters. There's no good ending, whether a soul remains trapped in the wall or not.
Gale doesn't explicitly say it, but he's contemplating his own death here, as he probably did the entire time he was locked away in his tower. This is why he's so quick to agree to kill himself for Mystra's forgiveness. It's not because he's "obsessed" with her or because he wants her back, it's because he'll literally go to hell if he can't convince her he's worthy of her twisted sense of forgiveness. By the time we meet Gale, he's honestly over Mystra in all romantic sense, and even more so by Act 2, whether you romance him or not. He's simply...

Asks are open, feel free to pop in and talk or request something! (SFW requests only, please and thank you)
Worshipper!Ghost who balks when his partner tells him that they're insecure. He's wracking his brain, wondering what he did wrong for You to think that. Has he not been giving You the proper devotion and tending to that You deserve? Has he been slacking on his duties to You, his deity?
Nevertheless, he's quick to dispel these blasphemous thoughts, he won't have anyone questioning Your divinity, not even Yourself.
You're insecure about Your body? Ghost is listening to You speak about every "imperfection" on Your holy body and makes sure You realize that these aren't really imperfections. He'll kiss every so-called imperfection, telling You how much of a breathtaking deity You are. Your imperfections are just a testament to how You came down from the resting place of the gods to be in the mortal world, to grace him with Your divine presence.
You're insecure about Your achievements in life? Ghost is (quite happily too) going on and on about Your specific achievements, even if they seem minuscule compared to other people's achievements. He won't stand for You telling him they're minuscule in comparison though, because other people aren't divine. You're one of a kind, as You should be!
You're insecure with the fact that he worships You? This is the worst blasphemous thoughts you can have, in Ghost's opinion. How could You think You're not divine? Best believe that You're definitely not lifting a finger after that, not that You really were anyways (please let him take care of You, O Merciful Deity).
He'll gladly remind You of Your Divinity, after all, You thought he was worthy of You. You have a light that's so bright, shines no matter where You are. You're so kind, so gentle with him and others. You're never quick to anger, You go about Your day with such calmness. How can You not be a deity when You decided Ghost was worth it to date?
You took his broken, scarred body and helped heal his mental/emotional scars. You reminded him about the joys of living, of truly living and not simply going through the motions. You've made him happy when the whole world was dull. He sees a future, thanks to You. He sees all he can be, not all he used to be.
How can he not worship You? He doesn't deserve You, doesn't deserve the privilege to kiss the very ground You walk upon, but You so graciously grant him the privilege. You even allowed Ghost—not just Simon, but Ghost, who has had blood soaked onto his hands so many times that he's unsure it can be cleaned off—the privilege of being loved by You.
He shouldn't be in Your presence, but You see the light in him. The very same light he thought died when his family did. So, don't think he'll take You questioning Yourself very well. You're his deity, You can do no wrong in his eyes, and he'll remind You of that. Every day, if he has to.
Reblogs are welcomed & appreciated!

would whitewater end up getting dark forested for her support of mudclaw, her hypocrisy, and her neglect?
There's a VERY high chance of it. She's almost certainly damned unless someone defended her VERY well (which is unlikely)
When StarClan makes a ruling, they aren't neccesarily deciding if you are Guilty or Innocent. They're determining if you are worthy of their ranks. You have to prove you belong in Heaven, NOT that you're not bad enough for Hell.
For most warriors this is a very simple yes, and no trial is required... but if you so much as OFFEND StarClan with your bad vibes, they might damn you just for that. Whitewater has a really bad reputation for everything she's done.
The Queen’s Rights actually work "legally" on the assumption that judgement is outsourced to StarClan, because mortals (Oakstar) can't be trusted to be impartial on this specifically. The birth of kittens cannot be used as evidence of codebreaking behavior... on the mortal plane.
StarClan was ALREADY going to give her a review just based on her affair with Mudclaw. If it ended on the Great Journey like they initially planned and she invoked QR with her Ba-less litter, there wouldn't even be a trial.
But that's not how this story goes. She was a ShadowClan cat involved in Mudclaw's rebellion, because she wanted to support him.
SHE might have only done that because she wanted to avoid ThunderClan "putting their paws in another Clan's business" or some other excuse, but StarClan says
"L + Ratio + Supported your baby daddy's coup + Set the peat on fire + What were YOU doing putting your paws in another Clan's business"
StarClan didn't even accept MUDCLAW'S explaination. They didn't even accept VIXENLEAP'S excuse, just some Thistle Law-loving RiverClan warrior who joined because Hawkyfrosty asked her to. They were always going to give Whitewater a hard time for this.
Whitewater might have been able to wrack up some goodgirl points by being a very loyal ShadowClan warrior..... and she did, a little.
But she kept her head down. No spectacular feats of redemption. Just tried to live quiet. That doesn't incur a lot of favor.
And then, the part you've been waiting for... how she treated Owlkit. Theyyyy didn't like that.
If she was sooo unattached to her mate, why did his smiting BOTHER her so much, hm?
She might have won favor for doing something very noble and giving the kittens to the bereaved Torear, but she KEPT Owlkit. Any love she had that influenced that choice drained away
and she didn't do the "right thing" for him by asking for help. She just did the bare minimum at best, and hid her abuse at worst.
Unfortunately though, the neglect and emotional abuse did not earn as much ire on their own as you're hoping. StarClan is (and was) full of much worse abusers. Hillrunner, for example.
Most of StarClan's condemnation would be based around Mudclaw's Rebellion... but they've been waiting a LONG time to process the surviving non-WindClan rebels. So... she's probably doomed.
Unfortunately I cannot imagine she takes it well. She completely ignores that Owlclaw was just a footnote in her condemnation, and uses it to confirm everything she ever believed.
"That kitten WAS meant to die that night. I should have dragged that child out into the storm with the rest of its cursed siblings. I've been shoved into the spot where Owlclaw should be!"
Hmm... maybe I should axe her shortly before the Great Battle, and actually have HER be the one who attacks Owlclaw's kittens. It would be pretty horrifying if she was the one who killed Weaselkit, her own grandchild.

Named, but Nameless
Tumblr media
1.2k homelander x reader, sfw, fluff, headcanons about his birth name, a canon conversation between my oc and homelander written in an x reader format, she/her reader
Tumblr media
Gaining such a strong connection with another human, after Madelyn, was something Homelander was convinced would never happen again nor would he ever try again. The fragility of human life and the strength of a supe never mixed well. Like water and oil, so close and yet always separate. Life and love didn't care about that, though. Life and love were the reciprocating shakers, vibrating and agitating the oil and water until they were as incorporated as possible.
His couch was the shaker, and his knee was doing the shaking, bouncing up and down in rhythmic thumps. The foreign feeling of tightness in his chest overwhelmed him. He was a God. Why the hell was he feeling all these human emotions? What reason did he have to be so anxious? Beside him was nothing more than his mortal. He was stronger than her. He was braver than her. He could do anything and everything she couldn't. So why couldn't he respond to one simple question?
"Answer me.. please. Are you okay?" she said after concluding that he would stay silent. Her voice was laced with worry, with her brows knitted together. "Homelander?"
His supe name rolled off her tongue so deliciously, despite the name being admittedly bulky. Her voice carried that name through his every vein and artery, but the tightness in his chest remained. That was his name. He was Homelander. And yet, after gaining such a connection to her, the name felt… wrong. Perhaps it was the cliché of superheroes to have secret identities. Starlight had one, "Annie" they called her. Black Noir did, too, "Earving". Was his name worthy of being a secret identity?
"Homelander?" she repeated, speaking more sternly. She reached out to him, placing her hand over his bouncing knee, knowing all too well that she couldn't still it.
"John.." he said, his voice hushed.
"John?" she repeated.
Homelander grimaced, hearing her say it. This was a mistake. He said it too impulsively, and now it was too late to take it back.
"J.. John. It's my birth name. Use it. If you want, I mean." The uncertainty in his voice made him sick. He sounded so pathetic, so unsure, so human.
She didn't speak, instead just trying to read his expression. The silence sickened him. Was she judging him for his name? Was the name too simple or boring for her? He had never exactly told a partner his real name. They always seemed to just find out, whether by accident or by snooping. He had hoped being the one to tell this lover his name would feel liberating. Oh, how wrong he was. This felt suffocating. This felt like his identity was being forced upon him. This felt like that damned cage he was kept in as a child. John. John Doe. Named, but nameless. A science experiment with no sense of self. Only pain. Torment. Abuse.
"Do you want me to call you that?" her voice rang out, presumably noticing how uncomfortably he stirred from her silence.
He opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it again. Her knowing and using his assigned name was supposed to be the next step, and yet he wanted to say "no". Needed to say "no".
"It's okay if you don't want me to, baby. I'm okay with just calling you Homelander."
His brow furrowed as he groaned, slamming his hands on the couch and forcing himself to his feet.
"No! No, you aren't… you aren't fucking getting it!" Homelander paced, his hand up near his mouth as he chewed on the leather of his crimson glove. "It isn't enough. 'Homelander' isn't enough! Everyone calls me that… Everyone uses that name. It's not special!" He hardly knew if he was making any sense to her. He wasn't even making any sense to himself. He knew he had no reason to get upset or frustrated because of something as trivial as a name, and yet he couldn't help it. He felt like a child.
"Sweetheart, hey. It's alright. Let me try and understand, okay? Come here," she beckoned, arms opened and inviting.
His teeth sunk harshly into the leather, his pacing slowing down as he glanced toward her. He stood still before going to reclaim his spot beside her, leaning into her warmth with his nose pressing into her neck.
"Alright… So no 'John', and 'Homelander' isn't special enough. We could go with a nickname? I've used 'Homie' in the past. How about that one?"
The vibrations of her throat and the sound of her calmly beating heart soothed his unease. Always a problem solver, this one. The world would be damned if she ever couldn't find a solution to something.
"No… I like 'Homie', but it's still not special enough. I… I guess I want something more private. Just for us."
"Ah, I see."
Silence again, but this time he knew she was just thinking. He didn't speak either, curious to see what his partner would come up with. She often surprised him with her ideas and suggestions and he hoped she would surprise him here, too.
She broke the silence, "How about… Johnny? It is close to ‘John’, but far enough away to be special, and private, of course.”
The corner of his lip quirked in surprise. "Johnny?" he repeated, lifting his head off her shoulder. He had to fight back the smile forcing its way onto his lips.
"Yeah! Johnny. I think it's cute, personally."
Homelander bit the inside of his cheek, averting his eyes all while turning his head away from her. That smile won and sat plastered across his lips. Hearing her say it again made a warmth blossom from his chest and spread to his every extremity. He could feel the blood rushing to his cheeks. It wasn't any spectacular nickname at all, rather common really, and yet it sat with him. The tightness and anxiety he had felt was quickly forgotten.
"I mean, we can try it," he said with an attempt at sounding indifferent. He leaned back against the couch, head still turned away from her.
His response earned a small laugh from her, "We'll try it, then." He heard her leaning closer and saw her hand coming around out of his peripheral. Soft and tender, her hands held his face as if he were a fragile, porcelain doll. She turned his head to look at her, her eyes filled with nothing but affection and love for him. They stared deep into the blues of his own. Instinctively, his head leaned deeper into her hold, lips centimeters away from her palm.
"I love you, Johnny…"
That…
It rolled off her tongue, her lips… It glided through the air like a feather. His eyes grew wider and softer, lips parting as he took it all in. Her voice echoed throughout his psyche. He latched onto the soundwaves, never wanting to forget how beautiful her words sounded. His mind felt numb and he felt a high he’d never experienced before. He felt lightheaded in the best way possible. All that combined with the softness and love in her eyes made him feel as if he would faint right in her arms. He leaned deeper into her touch, reaching a hand up to press hers harder into his cheek. He kissed her palm, lips smiling against her skin.
I love you, Johnny…
"I love you too, my darling…"

I feel like people who think Percy should have done more to convince Nico to stay in the the 4th book, don't fully realise that Camp isn't a safe place for those who aren't accepted. Not only had Percy been initially shunned by his fellow campers when his parentage had been revealed, being at camp had put him under the radar of the gods, and in close quarters with one god. Percy hadn't had a choice when it came to his first Quest, he either had to leave Camp or get turned into a dolphin. It was lucky that he chose to go on the Quest, because nobody, except maybe Grover, would have helped him if he'd been forced to flee. Not only would Nico have had to deal with the campers' fear, he would have been a sitting duck for the gods, either to use or destroy. That's why, when Percy got the chance in The Last Olympian, he advocated for him, and got him a place in Camp, so nobody could doubt that he belonged there, or was worthy of respect.
Exactly. Percy had a pretty bad experience at camp for the first three summers he was there for three different reasons (being claimed that first summer that set him apart from the crowd, getting bullied in the second summer for having a cyclops for a brother, and Thalia coming back made people completely ignore him in favor of the daughter of Zeus, the new shiny prophecy kid). He knows what it’s like to be an outlawed demigod and he wouldn’t force anyone else to live the same circumstances he did. Especially since Hades already doesn’t have a good standing with the gods or their children. Notice how he was immediately blamed for the theft of the master bolt. And of course he would have had to stay there full time since he doesn’t have a mortal address so like you said he’d be under the gods’ thumbs 24/7 and made to prove his loyalty to Olympus by going on stupid quests, if not outright killed. In ttc, the Olympians almost had Percy executed just for existing, the only reason they didn’t is because Poseidon threw his weight behind him. Somehow I don’t think they hold Hades in such high regard and even if they did, Hades himself didn’t hold Nico in high regard until much much later so yea he’d be dead one way or the other.
But yea no dumping on Percy for knowing all of this is and recognizing it as a sad reality because it was his sad reality as well is not the hot take that some people think it is.

What if we were the ones with the big chest? 👀 Which yans would be more of a boob than ass guy?
Also, how is your day going? I want to start interacting more with u ☺️
(I'm doing good, a bit sleepy, thanks for asking!)
Joey is a fan of both ass and boobs, as he finds the reader attractive no matter what. He never had a crush on anyone beforehand, so he doesn't really have a preference. His type is you, no matter what.
Fritz likes hips more than ass or boobs, as that was taken as a sign back in the day a woman was more fertile and could bear many children easier.
Ahmed and Patrick are both boob guys. Patrick likes them because they are easier to grope in public without him having to pull up any skirts or panties, and Ahmed likes them because they are easier to photograph and imagine them exposed.
Johannes also has no preference, but as much as he likes to think he is respectful and would treat a big breasted reader the same, it's obvious he is much more flustered and shy around a reader like that. He's just never seen a woman's exposed chest, and he can't handle himself if there is a lot of you in that area.
Carl is an ass man. Before he coerced you into being his little fucktoy, there where many times he'd watch you bend over, or stretch. Plus, he enjoyed the feeling of grinding himself against your ass through your thin pajamas on the many nights you slept over. Without you knowing, of course.
Puck likes all of you, as he knows humans are much more conservative and shun nudity unlike his wild and passionate fae brethren. Anytime you are exposed, he knows it's a lot for you, but you do it because you trust him. He assures you that all the parts you hide from him are beautiful. His only preference is that when around him, you show yourself off rather than wear mortal rags.
Joshua has no particular interest in any of the parts specifically, as he is more curious than anything. After the slaughter of the impure, he's not even fully sure what exactly he's into, as sex Ed wasn't big in the town even before the adults were killed. Gabriel drives home the importance of consumation but the simple farm clothes of the cult members and the lack of attraction to any other people leaves Joshua unsure what he would like, if he even knew what there was to like.
Gabriel is interested in only your virginity. The idea that an outsider has come into the village still pure and untainted surely must be a gift from there God. He knows that you were sent as a gift, and that your purity could only be given to him once he truly proved himself as a worthy disciple. He thinks only of the day when you must hear who his God has chosen as your betrothed, and God willing, it will be Gabriel. In his eyes, is it truly taking a girl's purity if it's taken by a man so holy and devoted?
Mattias likes boobs, because he's so used to past partners waiting for him to initiate and give all the physical affection even after a particularly rough fight. You aren't like that, and his favorite spot to feel fully wrapped up in you is with his head on your chest. (He jokes he likes your tits because the remind him of speedbags.)

The crew having to get used to Rengoku would be so fucking funny. He's in his demon corps outfit and Sanji is like 'yeah we can't have that because otherwise the Navy is going to find out about everything' and Rengoku is smiling at him and is like 'haha, sure Sanji' and lets Sanji dress him up. He refuses to take off his kimono most of the time and so between that and his hair he stands out like a sore fucking thumb.
Rengoku also watching Sanji and Zoro fight and Sanji not using a sword has gotta make him laugh. He will join in randomly and there's a reason he's a Hashira so when he uses flame breathing Franky flips out to not burn the Sunny. Also Rengoku who is a year younger than Sanji and Zoro but knows Sanji from their younger years and at one point he just brushes the side of Sanji's head, runs his fingers through his hair and gives him that caring smile and says he misses Sanji's old hair, the side shaved with a long ponytail.
Sanji waves him off by saying being a pirate with a high bounty and being wanted by the Navy was enough hassle, adding demons to that mix would be too much. Rengoku laughs and agrees. Everyone is like wait, hold on, wait. Everyone is asking why Sanji had his hair like that and they explain it was for identification purposes mostly because demon corps members don't live long normally, and if they die but aren't eaten marks and such are easy to identify because who knows what will be left.
Like it's a very grim reality the demon corps lives in. Zoro asks why they're in it. Sanji reminds him he's retired technically and Rengoku says it's a family thing, his family have been Flame Hashira for centuries. There haven't been sightings of ranked demons in years so Sanji felt comfortable leaving the corps fully to commit to Luffy and go for his dream. Rengoku says if this is the demon lord of old that he's only going to leave a good example for his little brother.
At some point, maybe a few weeks in, Zoro talks to Kyojuro alone and asks him what the cook was like when he was in the corps fully. Why he gave up the sword for the most part. Kyojuro smiles wistfully and chuckles.
"Love is burdensome, he refused and still does to be that burden. We graduated together from training and he thought either way he would free his father of that. He has known death will come for him some day, as it will come for us all, he saw a way to partially hide from demons but he is known well. His acceptance has never wavered and I always admired him for such, it has made him an admirable comrade." Kyojuro smiles.
"Made him suicidal." Zoro mutters and Kyojuro laughs loud and boisterous.
"You plan to become the greatest swordsman, correct? To take the title from Mihawk, Sanji's father. That itself is a suicidal title, a worthy one, but still the point remains. Demon Corps members don't live long. Perhaps he thought he could free himself of such tendencies, but he hasn't I see." Kyojuro responds as he eyes the galley.
"He doesn't think he's worthy of saving most of the time." Zoro huffs.
"None of us do." Kyojuro says after a moment. "We are often inflicted with mortal wounds that even those of us who use fruits and haki cannot withstand. Demons cannot use fruits as they are not living, most members don't use them because we die young." He tells Zoro and turning to look at the green haired man. Zoro stares back at him, his one eye wide as Sanji comes out of the galley with snacks for everyone.
"Your hair is getting long." Kyojuro says to Sanji.
"It's going to take more than a demon lord to scare me." Sanji waves as he leaves the two with their snacks.

for dragon deity au, would reader build a sort of resentment towards deities in general? Like I know for a fact I would, if I was treated as less then, and used as a sick sort of food source, especially if just now their trying to take back their actions
Yeah, Reader would be, in the non-cursed words: Royally miffed. They would be scared, they'd feel sick, and they'd feel completely alone and helpless. They aren't even an adult yet, and they just found out the people they've been with, who they've been nothing but respectful and kind and loving to, might have been planning at some point to sacrifice them and gain their power for themselves. They'd leave, as fast and as far as they could, and they would not look back.
The platonic yans are... worried. Guilt-ridden. Paranoid.
They used to devour the essence of other dragon deities and demigods, and while they hadn't done so in about a century or few before meeting Reader... They had thought about if they should do it with them. And then after spending time with them, and getting to know them, and feeling loved by someone who wanted nothing from them and only looked up up them... Well, the guilt ate at them, to the point they couldn't do it. They couldn't, they wouldn't, do that to Reader. They know they've done awful, horrible things... They've had their fair share of wicked deeds and cults and paranoia... But... Reader is a kid. A really small, breakable, mortal kid, who they know has their own blood running through them. And they've been horrible in the past, they've waged wars and won them, they've made and conquered and destroyed empires and civilizations, in their name and for their own gain and greed... But this is Reader. This is someone who is one of them. Their own flesh and blood. (They've taken in mortal-born demigods before, they didn't sacrifice all of them... but... they weren't really worthy of them, were they? They'd started over with them, raised them, gone through the "rebirthing"... But they didn't exactly stop being awful to everyone else, did they?) So they more or less do a blood oath, unbreakable and unbending, and cannot be broken or taken back: They will not sacrifice another one of their own for their own gain. They will become better, or risk sacrificing their own god-hood and lives.. They'll start from the top, they'll actually be the parents they should be, and do everything they can to fix and rebuild their own odd family...
(I don't like the platonic yans bring mean for long, but for the sake of the plot and horror themes of this au, they initially act like some ancient, bloodthirsty deities who had sacrifices and cults done in their names...)
(I do promise they get better! They do! But, uh- yeah, having to come to terms with eating the essence of your own kind is a very bad thing, and that they shouldn't do it, and they shouldn't have done it at all (an obvious no-no, but it's a horror and dragon and deities au, so for the sake of the plot and elements-) They decide they have to start making efforts efforts change, stick by those changes, and start being better people- dragons- deities- whatevers... And... there are more than just sacrifice rituals, though, and they plan to try and fix things, starting with a few of those... One for oaths unending, one for honor-and-truth-binding them and their souls to their new objectives, and one for rebirth... And with those, they can start anew, make a new Era for their kind...)
(Ask any questions you have or share anh theories you have, and I'll answer them the best I can, okay?) (I also apologize if I have given y'all a new trauma au that keeps you brainrotting at night- I might need to do a cuddly creatures au after this-)

I started reading your AU posts and I love them. With Raised Together AU I wonder what Alastor's reputation is like in hell, you mentioned that he is not exactly like the demon on the radio, but unlike Charlie he did work to be feared. Is he still facing the Overlords and seeking to dominate the Pride Ring? Sorry for the bad English.
Thank you, glad you're enjoying them! And hey, your English is just fine. You're already doing WAY better than me by speaking more than one language.
In the Raised Together AU, Alastor starts building his reputation from the starting point of being a royal bastard. While the royal family are undoubtedly powerful, because they aren't intimidating at all, the sinners of hell in general don't respect them. So Alastor's actively working against that when he starts building a name for himself.
He's not really working to control the Pride Ring. Illegitimate child or not, Lucifer recognizes him as his son, and while Charlie's the heir proper, she does acknowledge him and his input for ruling Hell*. However, Alastor does still hunt down Overlords in this AU. He hasn't removed as many as in canon, since rather than going on a spree Alastor selectively took down Overlords he saw as dangerous and undeserving of their positions. Those who didn't 'show respect to those of fairer means.' He's also involved himself in turf wars, making sure things turned out in his favor, backing sinners he found more worthy or that would be easier for him to work with. In the Raised Together AU, Alastor ensures that people witness him actively using his power and know that he is both capable of and willing to rip souls apart if they stand against him. That he's strong independently of his father.
The general public don't have the same kind of horror-struck awe of this version of Alastor as in canon, but they do acknowledge his strength. So while sinners may not run scared at the sight of him, they know better than to fuck with him.
(*Given that Alastor actually did live on Earth, albeit briefly, and has some insights into mortals and their lives, Charlie considers his perspective invaluable when it comes to dealing with sinners. This in spite of the fact that they disagree on the subject of redemption.)

I'm curious how you'd imagine a full blooded wyrm would regard a wyrm hybrid child of an ascended wyrm, like in Hornet's case? (pff aside from the obvious kill death kill kill)
It depends on the individual wyrm, really! It's hard to say exactly what they'd think as a whole because wyrms are not social animals, so while they value power and resources, there aren't really any standards about what's 'acceptable' and what not. Some wyrms would likely find it a waste, and a dilution of the bloodline, both others might consider it to be quite clever- a way of ensuring that their legacy lives on if their fullblood brood fails, and a means of securing their hold on their kingdoms beyond what another god can shake from them. Demigod hybrids, I imagine, are rare to almost unheard of among wyrmkin due to the strongly independant and controlling nature that many posess, but I don't think that PK is the only wyrm-demigod sire out there, even if he's unique in that he chose to permanantly modify his physical form to live among bugs (I imagine conception with other wyrm gods would be either spiritual or with an avatar they summon for the deed alone). Most would be too preoccupied with their own lives to bother though I feel, and if a wyrm found a wyrm-hybrid demigod, the same 'mate or die' rules would apply. Hornet's a rare breed indeed
...I only just realized that you didn't specify demigod hybrids specifically. Oops. In the case of other Higher Beings x Wyrmkin offspring, however, I feel like the same rules apply, albiet that it's far more common than mating with a mortal. It's typically limited to more daring or curious wyrms, yes, but a core part of determining if a mate is worthy is 'how quickly can it kill me/how brave is it to try', which is a standard that many Higher Beings can meet just fine. They're still not very common, but they're also not uncommon enough to be unheard of. Wyrms that produce them are kind of like the alienfuckers of their kind- more common than you'd think, but still in the shadows. And even a wyrm with diverse sexual interests would still prefer to destroy a rival and expand their territory rather than mate most of the time
I CAN tell you that PK's mother would be disgusted with him for refusing to sire any fullblood god-heirs and watering down his bloodline with mortals though (that is, if she ever bothered to check in on her cringe failson). At least, until she meets Hornet. Then she'd be singing praises about her spirit, strength, and cunning while also betrating PK about how he's less of a wyrm than the spider he used to create her and it would be an entire shitshow that Hornet would have absolutely no idea how to feel about

Oof, the mental image of Wukong struggling desperately to lift his own staff, to try to fix just one of his many, many mistakes. Terified of losing what he had managed to find in this new mortal life of his but unable and unwilling to risk his loved ones through inaction and being willing to throw it all away just to keep his mate and unborn child safe. Him near collapsing in despair when it becomes clear he CAN'T lift it, and he basically and just ruined another set of relationships by revealing his true self to his new family only to be unable to even fulfill the purpose for which he had revealed that information.
And then his family is just suddenly THERE. Pulling his paws from the staff and supporting him and he's probably so confused at that moment. He'd lied to them, tricked them, and took advantage of their kindness! Why aren't they mad at him? Why aren't they disgusted? Everyone else he'd met in his life would have thrown him out the moment he told then he wasn't who he told them he was, why are these familiar yet so very unfamiliar souls he's come to love as family not doing the same!?
Just that whole mental image as his family comforts him after such a big reveal. They're going to have to talk about it, of course, Wu being Sun Wukong isn't something they can just brush under the rug like a broken tea cup. But for now, they're just happy to have found their friend and that Wukong hadn't managed to disappear or do something too self-destructive before they found him.
sequel to this post.
Tumblr media
ALL OF THIS!!!
Wukong is willing to break his arms and back if it means pulling the Staff out of the ground. And even with little Red offering him a magical assist, he simply *can't*. Not when his powers have been dampened, not when he feels the furthest from worthy he has in centuries.
Initially Tang had been the only one there, as Red kidnapped him under the false pretenses that the scholar was a trained monk that could help him, and the convo between him and Wukong gets very heated.
Wukong: *is struggling to lift the staff, clearly in pain* Tang: "Wu stop, you're going to hurt yourself." Wukong: "No! I can do this! I just need to pull harder!" Tang: "Wu, please! I don't care who you used to be! Whatever is happening, I don't think it's worth killing yourself over it! Wukong: "But I have to! I need to for Mihou and the Egg!" Tang: "We can help you! Please Wu-" Wukong: "JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME DO THIS MASTER!!" *deafening silence* Wukong: *falls to his knees sobbing. Hands still clutching the unmoving Staff* Wukong: *feels a bump against his hip. turns and sees a familiar pair of firey eyes* Toddler Red Son: *softly headbutts Wukong's hip in a way typical of a curious/concerned bull calf* Wukong: *sobbing even harder as he allows an arm to rest around the calf's body in a half-hug* Tang: *calmly walks forward and leans body against Wukong's. Pets the monkey's head comfortingly*
Wukong is nearly catatonic from the stress of it all. And thats before Pigsy, Sandy, and lil Mei get there! Lets just say Sun Wukong gets a lot of comforting in this sequence.

i have to laugh bc i saw someone say mystra "was done so dirty in bg3" like LMFAO the last mystra literally had wizards duking it out with each other to become her chosen or whatever and then it got so bad that eventually one of the mystra's was like "alright this sucks ass now nevermind". and then there was the time mystra possessed a mortal woman and had seven daughters as her with the woman's husband and that fucking killed the woman and the husband abandoned them bc he'd had no idea and then mystra saddled elminster with the youngest three. the wizard fights was how azuth became mystra's chosen and then mystra's daughters (who aren't aasimar like aylin, just very powerful wizards/sorcerers) are also her chosen, though i think two of them are dead now. and she ALSO put elminster through a bunch of bullshit tests and started like right after his whole family was murdered or whatever so like that man can have his cheese from my camp, i'll chew him out later. and like yeah all that was from the first mystra but one of the first things this new mystra has done is wreck gale so i don't think that speaks highly to her character nor is out of line with previous incarnations. she may be "neutral good" but only as it pertains to her portfolio, in my view - she is "good" for protecting magic and the chaos of some actions cancel out with the lawfulness of her stringent rules for the use of magic. AND even if she was basically dead for most of gale's life and they only met "face to face" thirteen years before the events of the game and started dating then, when gale was already an adult, i would still consider it grooming. he was raised in a society - especially in waterdeep bc it's a center of magic - that venerates "good" aligned gods because they're literally irrefutably real. gale was obviously taught to value the weave and hold great respect for mystra, he attended one of the most prestigious academies of magic, and he was mentored by elminster himself. he was in a unique position to be used by mystra as wizards before him had been used - notably elminster himself, but also literally azuth, the patron lesser deity of wizards. (and the letters elminster sends to gale in his origin and if he becomes a god speak to the guy holding so much guilt for being party to the abuse gale faced - that he should have done more to prevent gale's downfall, especially bc he is one of mystra's survivors.) and then azuth's last line in the series of books in bg3 about the gods is literally about forever yearning for mystra. so then gale wasn't even pulling the idea of getting more power out of his ass or anything, someone else was given power/allowed to obtain it to the point of becoming a god in service to mystra. he disobeyed mystra's boundaries for using magic/gaining power, yes, but in his origin when you talk to mystra and say "i just wanted to be worthy of you" or w/e she says that gale was already worthy and just lacked patience. so again he wasn't even told a solid no it may have been more of a "no right now" no. (i say maybe bc atp mystra might just be gaslighting gale, trying to pretend that she hadn't been 100% forever and ever denying him, i wouldn't put it past her.) of course what's taken into account for deciding godly alignment is going to be a bit different than for beings without a godly portfolio. like!!!!! mystra can be dead in my eyes and still have neutral good alignment as a goddess bc for her most of all it's fucking complicated, seeing as she is like... the lifeblood of the realms or whatever. anyways. to end this... long-winded rant. part of what make's gale's story and romance so compelling is that he's completely correct when he says that the gods don't truly care about mortals, that they just cower behind ao. they can't really care bc they forget what it's like to be mortal, they depend on having mortal souls. they are just dressed up devils, dealing in souls. no good is wholly "good." they all have the power to save lives, to change lives for the better, yet squalor remains. it's an imperfect universe. compelling!

I miss Demon baby AU
So!
What kind of trials for a demon or in this case a grimwolf have to do to ask for Wednesday's hand in marriage?
Trial through combat
It's usually the guardian who does this then the intended themselves because if you can't defeat them then how can you protect them?
Though you don't necessarily need to win, sometimes the pure determination and grit has earned the respect of the family and so they get accepted anyways
But usually through violence. The Addams family are rather blunt after all, simply adore your lover and prove that you can protect them and vice versa
To the demon populace, Enid already did good with besting the shit out of demons in her persuit for belle and Wednesday when they left
But the pureblood aren't so easily satisfied at their pride's choice. A werewolf isn't bad but a fully bled mortal? You dare sully the Addams lineage with blood of a someone that can never compare to us? Disgusting, horrible choice-
They can't say it out loud, treason and stuff but they will murmur about it
They don't matter tho bc they aren't the Addams so why tf should Enid care!
Or, Enid already proved herself worthy to the Addams when she managed to play family with Wednesday uo in the over world :) her besting the shit out of demons is just a bonus

BIG MAJOR GRAVITY CIRCUIT SPOILERS but i've been crazy ever since i watched jane finish the game so i have to write an essay about it and i know no one is gonna read all this shit but whatever. fuck. i'm still thinking about nega. like, what is it like to get left behind by yourself. you were you for thousands of years and then the thing that made you YOU leaves you and becomes someone else who is you but not YOU as you are. were? are?
like imagine, since the very beginning, you WERE the circuit, the circuit was YOU, you were carried through every new host, every body that fell apart. you probably took it for granted. if you lose one body, the circuit will find or make a new one, and then you'll wake up and pick up where you left off. a cycle of immortality that lasted thousands of years, only to end at the hands of a single. random. process error.
one deviation and that which made you YOU, which WAS you, leaves you behind, and suddenly you are mortal, and dying, and all your thousands of years could end in a second, and it would never matter, because you aren't YOU anymore. the thing that was you is someone else now, and you are a ghost apart, a damaged vessel filled to bursting with more years of life than any one body should carry, with too many memories that should never have been left behind
and this new you-not-you may not have your memories but it has taken your name, your title, your place. it does have your instincts and it does save your life, now fragile and transient, just as you once did for others. it does know your old comrades, who recognize the new one as their own, as YOU. but it isn't.
but then, isn't it? you have no future with them, not as you are: sundered, temporary, scrounging for scrap so you can prolong your "life" just that little bit longer, while they go on living, effortlessly, together with the new you-not-you. there's no place for you like this. you can't keep up-- you'll fall apart-- they'll all outlive you-- and you realize you've suddenly become a stranger to everyone, including yourself.
you take a new name. nega. negative, never, nothing, not, none. defined by the absence of the presence that once was you. a dying star, a black hole, a Gravity but twisted, and hungry, pulling and searching and reaching to fill the void. and you mark the new presence, the new Gravity Circuit, and you feel the tether. perhaps some lingering vestige of the purpose that once cloaked you. you pick up the tatters that remain and stitch together a new, threadbare mantle. you teach him. you guide him. you test him. through it all, you stay close to him, that you might-- what? bear witness to your new self's growth? shepherd your new self unto the future? grasp at the shreds of the memory of what you used to be? bide your time so you might take back what's yours? test if you are even--have ever been--worthy of it at all? all of the above?
i keep thinking, when nega confronted kai--his old-new self--did a small part of him hope that kai would fail? did he secretly hope that kai's inexperience might be his downfall, so that he might defeat him, destroy his body, and get the Gravity Circuit back? that he might finally reclaim that essence which defined him, that he might be kai, himself, again?
and maybe the copy/rewrite process would've overwritten your memories anyway. maybe whoever you are or were was already lost to that irreversible state of impermanence wrought and thrust upon you by the whims of fate, but would it even matter? if you felt like you had the chance to be YOU again? even if it meant becoming a different you? wouldn't you reach for that chance? wouldn't you do anything?
but none of it matters, because that's not what happens. your chance is lost, but more likely it never existed in the first place. the death of you, your old self, was certain from the start. you have to let the new self grow. you have to let go of your self as you once knew it, cast off the mantle, and sever the tether.
in reality, claiming the commander circuit was the only thing nega could've done, but not just because every life they fought for depended on its existence. it's also because nega was the only one who could do it, and know what it meant, and welcome it. it's because it was his only way to move forward. he needed to become something else--to die, even if not literally, so that his new life, his new self, may live and flourish and carry their purpose into the future.
this is mirrored by the presumed death of the circuits' Masters and their mission, the circuits' desire to break free and build a new life, and the Commander Circuit, who desperately clings to their defunct mission, is buried so that the others may freely forge their new path, swears to destroy all they've built in order to resurrect the past-- and how he was destined to fail. as this cycle, of life, and of all things in the universe, can't be avoided forever, and can never be reversed. gravity, energy, entropy. death, into rebirth, into death. nega must face this truth in the end, as well.
we don't see what happens to nega after the circuit takes him. he tells us that when a circuit takes a new host, the old personality is overwritten, but we don't know the details. is the original person gone forever? is it just suppressed temporarily? does the commander circuit work entirely differently due to its nature? it doesn't really matter, though, because now nega as we knew him is gone, and that's how it must be, and how it was always going to be.

"Oh thats just Y/n"
Laszlo and Nadja x male reader
Requested by someone in my Dms can't say who though, but I hope you enjoy reading this!
Warnings!Vampire, jealousy, poly relationship, HEADCAONS and SCENARIOS , FLUFF, sex implied doesn't happen though, Nandor joining in with yall.
🦇They always call you "My mortal" or "cute bat boy" It took you a while to get used to the nicknames.
🦇 Nandor met you when Laszlo was playing the piano way to loud while you and Nadja sing. He forced Guillermo to come with him to investigate. Once they got up there they both got quiet. Nadja was on a human lap singing her heart out as the human hum. They only stop when Guillermo knocks something over and it breaks. "Who is he!?!" Guillermo shouts pointing at the human. "Oh thats just Y/n" Laszlo answers without a care in a world that his wife is sitting on a man's lap. "Hes are new human boyfriend we found!" Nadja shouts happily kissing her new boyfriend cheek.
🦇 Guillermo hates you with a burning passion. At first y'all were friends until Nadja gave out little hints to turn you into a vampire.
🦇 Guillermo will try to convince Laszlo and Nadja that you aren't worthy enough to become a vampire and you are evil during the day.
🦇 Yall three always play and make music together.
🦇 When they are in there in their bat forms they like to land on your shoulder just sitting/ hanging there while you do what you do.
🦇 Them always bragging about having the best boyfriend and best human ever. And Nandor and Colin are sick about hearing about your relationship.
🦇 You always babysit the doll of Nadja. Making sure she feels included in the house/family.
🦇 Them learning how to cook human food and them always showing you and making you try out the food they made.
🦇 Guillermo, Colin getting hella annoyed of the three of you making out, about to have sex on couch or literally have sex in front of everyone. Nandor doesn't mind though actually likes it and sometimes joins in.
🦇 Nandor tries to force Guillermo to hang around you more so he can be more like you.
🦇Them showing off their kills and the way they killed a human to you.
🦇 They turn you into a vampire on their wedding anniversary day. They wanted you to feel included to have y'all's own official day together so Nadja turns you into a vampire in the middle of an anniversary date.
🦇 They both teach you the ropes to become a vampire. Like how to feed, how to fly and things to do and not to do.
🦇 Guillermo wanted to kill you right there and then when Laszlo and Nadja announced you are living with them permanently and your a vampire. Now they call you "Baby bat."
🦇 You are the only man that Nadja stands beside her husband.
🦇 Nandor being the only other vampire and guy to kiss you, see you naked and have sex with. NEVER COLIN AND GUILLERMO.
🦇 You always listen to their stories back when they was human.
THE END

Some cool symbolism from when Byleth fuses with Sothis
Tumblr media
I couldn't help but notice that the shape of the opening here is really reminiscent to that of a mandorla. A mandorla is an almond- shaped form that was often used in medieval religious art behind biblical characters, and was supposed to show that they were not on the same plane of existence as the rest of men.
Tumblr media
Representing the world we live in didn't matter as much to medieval artists as it does to us now, as the divine world was perceived as being more real and worthy of consideration; as such, representing characters in a three-dimensional space wasn't a must. The one-dimensional, often golden mandorla showed that the world these holy characters evolve in is not something regular humans can access or see. The fact that Byleth was thrown into a world that is literally just void emphazises that.
Tumblr media
Humans aren't supposed to be able to behold that sight- it's an anomaly.
Tumblr media
The divine descending upon humanity by entering our third-dimensional world through a three-dimensional mortal body- while still keeping its divine attributes, the mandorla.
