hi um uh,,,, do u have any advice for anyone (coughme) who's just starting to write fics (marvel, to be exact) because,, everything on this site seems to be long pieces of work and that intimidates me since i can barely squeeze out lmAO djdnnd i lov u and ur writing and have a nice day!!!!

i really don’t know how to give advice for this kinda stuff, since i myself am still kinda figuring out how to do all this on my own, but i can try my bestest!! (aka get ready to have me get sappy and passionate about how i feel with my relationship with writing i’m super sorry daskasd)

honestly? just write whatever you want to write. you don’t have to write anything long and extra. if you love your short little writings you do, write them out and post them if you’d like! but if you’re the complete opposite and love writing long and extra things, write them out and post them if your little heart desires! 

just write for you. it’s still taking me a while to grasp that i’m writing because i want to and because i like doing it. don’t let other people tell you what to write. you wanna write that steve rogers fic? you go and kill it! make it long, make it short, whatever you’re comfortable with! you get an ask with something about carol danvers doing this really cute thing and you wanna expand on that topic? write it out! long or short!

if it makes you feel any better, there’s actually a lot of short little fics/drabbles that people end up noticing a lot and loving just as much as the long fics! but like i’ve been saying, at the end of the day it’s about you. if you want to write something long, knock yourself out. something short? get it out if you’d like! i’ve been posting fics on this hellsite since july of 2016 and i’ve jumped from fandom to fandom with the hope of becoming a “big writing blog.” 

2016 rachael really wanted to be a huge famous writer on here but 2018/2019 rachael has learned things and is really just writing because she loves to write and provide content that she loves and just hopes people love what she writes too. 

this became a huge essay and really repetitive within like 10 minutes, but tldr; you dictate what you post, what you write, and overall choose what you want to do. your mental health matters, and you’re writing all of this stuff for free. you don’t need to dedicate all your free time to writing unless you want to, that’s all up to you babe.
