long time no post! well, i was working on my original unnamed alien thing. heres the main 5 + some of the main secondary characters!

the plot revolves around the main 5. They are a bunch of misfits who are also adventurers and get weird epic quests daily from the townsfolk of the town of Novalies. Their names are Stanislava (she/him), Lennox (she/her), Eufemi (she/her), Ayrtom (they/them) and Pirala (he/him)

the secondary characters are Leevan (any pronouns), Henryka (she/her), Harumi (she/her) and Xaveri (he/him)

This week’s theme: Magnificent Lettering!

There’s a lot to love about this panel. To relate to this week’s theme, I love how Ed King lettered 3PO’s speech across two bubbles, and how Marie Severin colored it. It’s quite charming and funny, which is very good for these characters, and it also emphasizes the emotional stakes of the scary situation. I also wonder who doodled the stars in the corner: Ed, Marie, or penciller Ernie Colón? They are very cute and lovable.

I also love the silly aliens in the background (don’t miss the glowing eyes in the doorway on the left!), the western-movie-style effect of the dust-kicking stormtroopers, the nasty street puddles, the dreamy sky and architecture, and how 3PO is so much more fabulously vivid than everything else here. Only the brightest for the king.
