Ooooh, boy. This has been an announcement I have been dying to share for almost a year now, and I think this is the perfect time to make it because I'm not joking when I say this:
I'M GOING TO LAS VEGAS AND CALIFORNIA FOR THE FIRST TIME!
Okay, so there is a funny story on how that happened. One day during the spring last year, Mom was looking at dates for us to go see Garth Brooks in concert again and saw that he currently has concert residency in Las Vegas. Despite the initial debate on whether we should go or not considering the huge distance between there and our home, she ultimately bought the tickets for it because we've never been to Vegas before. And that's just only the beginning. lol
Later that same year, during the summer, Mom and I were running errands and talking about our upcoming trip to Vegas. She mentioned how this was gonna be the closest she'll be to California; it's her birth state and the last time she was there was a few decades ago, so she couldn't not go visit there again. Not even a second later, I simply replied, "✨Disneyland~.✨" Pizazz and all. XD She immediately said that she didn't even think of that at all, which had me laughing, and it quickly led to our trip becoming full-fledged family vacation plans. The planning was a gradual process because at the time, we were more focused on our second Orlando vacation in September and me staying with my older sister in Milwaukee from late December to mid-January while Mom was in London and Paris. With all of that out of the way, we've been finalizing our Las Vegas and California plans for the past few months; now, I can officially say we'll be on vacation from Apr. 24 to May 4.
I still cannot believe this is actually happening! I never thought I would end up going to the other side of the country for anything. And lemme tell you, there are a number of things I am already looking forward to checking out: the sights of Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, going to Toontown and Super Nintendo World, possibly visiting Mom's birth town! I am super excited!

I’ve been at universal for 8 hours now and holy shit. Having both the accessibility pass and my crutches has been life changing!!! I haven’t had to wait super long standing in lines which, I haven’t needed to sit as much as I would otherwise, AND I’m in a lot less pain than I would be otherwise. This is fucking incredible

i wish fun places were more accessible. i should be at universal studios with my family right now but both my friend (nd) and i (ocd, autistic) had to leave early because we were losing our shit. genuinely i was so anxious and upset the entire time. it was so loud, so bright. we couldn’t do much of anything. not to mention that those w/ physical disabilities weren’t decently accommodated at all. it’s so hard to navigate the park with a wheelchair or even a cane; not an adequate amount of seating, bathrooms, etc., at all. why can’t any effort be made for disabled people to have fun too

So I went to Universal yesterday and WOO boy was that fun!!! its def more of an experience park rather than a coaster/ride park but it was still so fun to go to! I'm so happy my friend invited me and i got a toothless plushy right at the start because i fell in love with his uneven eyes. we did go into the harry potter section just because, fuck JKR shes a holocaust denier, but damn if it wasn't fun to at least walk around it and i had already paid a ticket for the park might as well experience the full thing(plus i didn't buy any merch cuz haha. fuck her) i DID try butter beer tho and...its legit just A&W cream soda lol, it wasn't bad but like '...really?all the hype for this?' not worth the 10 bucks for a single soda with cream on top lol, the two rides were fun tho and the environment was fun.
Mario World was fun too, my friend let me use her Mario game band thing to play some of the games they had(kinda bullshit they make you buy a whole ass band just to play the like-5 games they have there). the mummy was wicked fun as well! easily my fav, i didn't expect it to go backwards the way it did but it was so fun. i went on Transformerss well and that was like a 2 minute wait and that was fun, the studio tour was a blast, i got to see the jaws sequence as well-after so many years of watching YT vids on it and that was so cool, all in all, really awesome day!

Doodles of my trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.
-My family and I had to wake up early to get to the park when it opened at 8 AM in order to ride the Mario Kart ride ASAP before the line got too long (For those planning on going, or are waiting for the version in Florida, I would keep this in mind if I were you). It had a couple of issues when we reached Bowser’s castle on the second floor, but it was worth the wait. The ride is a lot of fun, and the best part is Rainbow Road where you truly feel like you are speeding along it.
-Next, I rode the Revenge of the Mummy ride. Unfortunately, I did not know it was an indoor roller coaster and while there were no big drops or loops, I was a ‘bit’ traumatized during and after it. This did not help me in deciding whether or not to ride the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (I did not, because I was under the wrong impression as to how the ride operates).
-Rode the Transformers ride next. I enjoyed it and was happy to see Bumblebee. However, there’s not much support for your head and neck, which will start hurting if you aren’t careful with how you sit in the vehicle.
-I was lucky enough to ride Mario Kart a second time during the evening and I was better able to take in Bowser’s room, as well as his throne. I’m about 5 feet, two inches, and could easily fit a third of that throne. This made me realize how large Bowser would be compared to a human. Too bad the big guy himself isn’t a meet and greet at the moment, nor can you sit on the throne, but I wouldn’t attempt it if I were you. Speaking of… please don’t cut to the front of the line like some people did. That really sucked.
-I was debating on it, but among the souvenirs I bought, I got a Princess Peach headband for my inner child and wore it for most of my time there. A few others got one too, and I can’t tell you how many people I saw wearing Yoshi or Bowser hats.
-I recommend doing the studio tour at least once. When I came to the Nope set, the lights went crazy like in the film, and for a second I was panicking and trying to remember how to evade the alien. There were some other gems that I won’t mention, but they did have the building with the clock from Back to the Future.
-I sadly was unable to meet most of the characters, because you have to wait 30 minutes in advance before they come out, and then the line is closed off. But I was able to meet Penelope and Jaques of the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium (a steampunk restaurant with great milkshakes that is in both Hollywood and Orlando). It was fun to finally meet with them and they were delighted to know I had the Red Velvet Milkshake. Also, it turns out Penelope isn’t too fond of the Grinch, LOL. (Cute side story-one kid who met the two before me had a Spiderman shirt, and Jaques did the web shooting hand gesture with him.)

They were doing a soft opening of the Power Up Cafe at Universal Studios, and I decided to snag some of the new foods! They’re so cute!! I got the pesto 1-UP Mushroom calzone and the Super Star Fizz. For the drink you drop in the little fizz shape to add the flavor and even some edible glitter! Highly recommend!
