She added that she "didn't want to be alive anymore" living inside the Palace.
When asked by Oprah if she thought about suicide, she said, "Yes, this was very, very clear, and very scary."
Meghan said she sought help from the "institution" but was denied.
Buckingham Palace released a short statement in response, which said, "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
On his show, after the interview was aired, Morgan said he "didn't believe a word" of it, leading to 41,000 complaints being lodged against him with the national media regulator.
On Wednesday morning, Morgan tweeted, "On Monday, I said I didn't believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I've had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don't. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I'm happy to die on. Thanks for all the love and hate. I'm off to spend more time with my opinions."
The tweet was accompanied by a quote by Winston Churchill that said, "Some people's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage."
The Press Association reported that Meghan had formally complained to ITV about Morgan's comments, but on their impact on mental health generally rather than his views on her allegations of racism and lack of support by the Palace.
Earlier on Tuesday, Morgan had walked off the set of his show during a heated debate with a colleague who accused him of "continuing to trash" Meghan.
Later on Tuesday, ITV released a statement saying, "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Society of Editors

Leading the turnover ceremony was DA-Regional Field Office 10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado and Engr. Ian D. Madjus of DA-PhilMech, of which project grants were then received thru the Provincial LGU of MisOr headed by Governor Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, FCA presidents, LGU municipal agriculturists, engineers and representatives.
Held at the MisOr Provincial Agriculture Development Complex on March 4, the roster of interventions primarily handed over were packages of farm machineries and equipment, comprising of 6 units four-wheel drive tractor, 2 units hand tractor, 26 units floating tiller, 2 units walk-behind transplanter, 13 units rice reaper, 3 units combine harvester, 22 units rice thresher and 9 units mobile rice mill.
Amounting to P29.46 million sourced from its CY 2019 and 2020 funds, DA-PhilMech distributed the agri-machineries and equipment to five FCAs and three LGUs.
Recipients include the Mandangoa Farmer’s Association, Inc., Talusan Organic FA and KINAMALOMAN Farmer Irrigators Association, Inc. (FIAI) of Balingasag; Kasingpitan Santiago FIAI and Barangay 20 Farmer’s Association of Gingoog City; and LGUs Alubijid, Claveria and Magsaysay.
According to Dir. Collado, said beneficiaries have qualified in the availment of project grants, as they are viable farmer-organizations accredited by DA having at least 50 hectares total rice area, among other technical requirements.
For those FCAs whose aggregate rice farms will not meet said conditions, however, the agri executive pinned his hopes saying: “One option is to consolidate, and we can ask DA-PhilMech to provide [the package of farm machineries and equipment] through the province, para ang probinsya na mismo ang magsisilbing service provider for other farm-organizations not accredited or qualified under the attached agency’s criteria.”
“Within the six year-duration, we are assured that lahat ng mga rice farmer mabigyan ng rice assistance,” RED Collado added.

Based on DA-PhilMech data, farmer-beneficiaries can expect to reduce their cost of rice production by P2-3 per kilogram and minimize postharvest losses by 3-5%.

COLUMBIO, Sultan Kudarat, Jan. 28 (PIA) -- A people's organization here is making headway in their plan to undertake duck-raising and balut-making projects with help from the military, local government unit, and the Department of Agriculture (DA).
DA, through its Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, turned over on January 20 two automatic egg incubators to Peace and Development Volunteers and Farmers/Workers Association (PDVFA), a federation of people's organizations in the Municipality of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat province.
A report from the 39th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, noted that the assistance is part of the recovery and rehabilitation program of DA aimed at providing livelihood to farmers in dire situations.
Columbio Mayor Edwin Bermudez said the initiative could greatly boost income generating capabilities of local farms in the area who are constantly being exploited by the communist terrorist group.
"This will provide our farmers with an opportunity to start up and manage their own agribusiness which will also play a vital role in the municipality's peace and development as well as food security during these hard times," Mayor Bermudez said.
The turnover, according to the 39th IB report, was made possible through a collaboration with offices of DA Executive Regional Director Arlan Mangelen, Sultan Kudarat Governor Suharto Mangudadatu, and Columbio Mayor Bermudez.
In an interview with Philippine Information Agency Monday, PDVFA Federation President Ruth Mayo said the egg incubators have been handed over to end users, the Barangay Makat PDVFA with membership of 94 individuals.
"The incubators are additional support for our members in Barangay Makat for their plan to undertake a duck-raising project and production of balut (fertilized duck eggs). Before this, Makat PDVFDA received 300 mallard ducks, also from DA, for the organization's communal duck-raising project and a few ducks for backyard raising," Mayo said in the vernacular.
"Projects like this provide opportunities for our members to improve their lives. These are also means to bring the government closer to communities and to show to these communities that the government cares for their welfare and ready to respond to their needs."
She assured that aids from local government units and government agencies won't come to waste.
"Government agencies won't regret helping our people's organizations because in partnership with the 39th IB, through Charlie Company commanding officer 1Lt. Hercules Marabe and executive officer 1Lt. Charles Ian Parel, and the local government unit led by Mayor Bermudez, we closely monitor and supervise the implementation of projects and make sure that these are managed properly and sustained," she said.
PDVFA, which was first organized in 2015 under the leadership of then 39th IB spokesperon, Capt. Silver Belvis, has grown into a municipality-wide federation of 26 people's organizations.
Under this collaboration, the military and the PDVFA identify development needs of residents in the hard-to-reach sitios and barangays of Columbio and link them with the municipal government and national government appropriate actions.
In his recent guesting at the Laging Handa Network Briefing, Mayor Bermudez told PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar that the Philippine Army-LGU-PDVFA collaboration have led to implementation of several community-based livelihood projects such as banana production, vegetable production, goat raising, poultry raising, freshwater fish project, and many others.(DED-PIA XII with report from 39IB)

MANILA -- A Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) official is requesting the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to immediately release the production share of sugar workers that fall under the Binalbagan Sugar Company (BISCOM) milling district in Negros Occidental which is estimated at PHP200 million or more.
“We are about to start the next milling season but our workers have not received their share yet from the last milling season,” SRA Board Member, Atty. Emilio Yulo said.
Republic Act No. 809 or the Act to Regulate the Relations Among Persons Engaged in the Sugar Industry provides a three percent direct share to farm laborers from the total production in the milling district. Based on yearly produce, the amount is estimated at PHP200 million or more, Yulo said.
"This is usually given June or July to provide our workers with funds in time for school opening. Now that school opening has been delayed to August, it does not mean that DOLE will release the funds later than usual," he added.
Especially with the crisis brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, Yulo said the funds will help alleviate the plight of sugar farm workers and spur economic activity as well in southern Negros particularly in the city of Himamaylan and the towns of Binalbagan, Moises Padilla, Isabela, and Hinigaran.
Yulo added that last year, “DOLE also delayed the release of the labor’s share and I hope they have it ready this time since classes will start soon”.
Meanwhile, Yulo said they are now in the process of drafting the guidelines for sugar migrant workers that will be coming in from Negros Oriental starting next month.
Yulo met with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) representatives from the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental at the border town of Mabinay last Tuesday to discuss health protocols and requirements needed to bring in migrant workers from the Oriental side when the milling season starts come September.
“We will submit the guidelines for the approval of the two governors by early next week and disseminate the same to all planters’ associations and local government units where these migrant workers will be situated,” he said.
Most farmworkers in Negros Oriental helped out in the early part of the milling season here as their season usually starts by December yet, Yulo added.
Present in that meeting were 6th District Board Member, Jeffrey Tubola, Zephard Caelian, and Ian de la Cruz of the PDRRMO Negros Occidental, Bimbo Miraflor (PIO), and Myla Mae Abellana (Tourism Officer) for Negros Oriental, among others.

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 24 (PIA6) -- A grand cultural show and fireworks display will highlight the celebration of Chinese New Year at the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arc at the Plazoleta Gay on Iznart Street, Iloilo City on January 29.
Dr. Felipe Uygongco, chairperson of the 2020 Chinese New Year Task Force, said the celebration will involve all major Filipino-Chinese organizations, schools in Iloilo City that provide Chinese education, and Chinese family associations.
“The Iloilo celebration will be the biggest celebration outside Manila," said Uygongco.
He said the Chinese New Year celebration will kick off with an opening program at SM City Event Center on January 27. A Chinese Lantern Parade will also be held on the same day starting at Provincial Capitol going to Iznart Street as the final point.
A night market and food festival will also open on January 28 at Iznart Street.
Uygongco said that prior to the grand cultural show; a grand parade will take place on January 29, starting at Bonifacio Drive.
Meanwhile, this year’s celebration is anchored on the theme “Filipino-Chinese Community: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges towards United Iloilo Community.”

ILOILO CITY -- Filipino-Chinese community in this city encourages the public to be part of their New Year celebration which they will celebrate through a series of activities from January 27 to February 2.
The celebration anchors on the theme “Filipino-Chinese Community: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges towards United Iloilo Community”, which according to Ian Eric Pama, a member of the Chinese New Year Task Force, speaks of “unity of everyone”.
“We believe that the Filipino and Chinese culture interacts with the longtime friendship of the Filipino and Chinese communities in the city. This is our way of helping Iloilo City improve to the next level,” he said in a press conference here Wednesday.
Pama said the Chinese community, who owns businesses in the downtown area of the city, provides employment to Ilonggos.
The celebration also involves all schools in the city providing Chinese education, three major business Filipino-Chinese organizations and Chinese family associations.
The Filipino-Chinese population in the city is around 12,000 to 13,000.
Dr. Felipe Uygongco, chairman of the 2020 Chinese New Year Task Force, said their various civic organizations join hands in helping local Filipinos.
“This festival is always to showcase our Chinese culture,” he said.
"The Iloilo celebration will be the biggest celebration outside Manila," Uygongco added.
One of their activities is to visit to public schools offering Chinese education. Pama said they would like public schools to “learn and appreciate Chinese culture”.
The celebration will kick off with a Chinese Lantern Parade on January 27 from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol to Iznart Street that will be followed by the launching of the night market and food festival.
There will be a grand cultural show and fireworks display on January 29 at the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arc at the Plazoleta Gay on Iznart Street.
It will culminate on Feb. 2 with a Chinese New Year mass at the Sta. Maria Parish in the morning and a mall show by the Hua Siong College of Iloilo in the afternoon at the SM City Iloilo.
Uygongco said the activity in Iloilo City is the biggest celebration being held outside of Metro Manila. (PNA)

MANILA -- The top collegiate volleyball teams in the country gather in Iloilo City starting next week for the holding of the Unigames Collegiate Grand Slam Cup at the San Agustin campus gym.
A total of 42 teams will be competing in indoor volleyball tournament -- 24 men’s and 18 women’s -- which will be renamed the ���2nd Dominic Sytin Cup’, in honor of the late CEO of United Auctioneers Inc. and benefactor of the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons.
The beach volleyball tournament meanwhile, attracted a total of 14 and nine men’s and women’s teams, respectively, in what should be the biggest volleyball event this year nationwide.
Organizers and top officials of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) and Unigames have partnered together for the Oct. 19 to 27 tournament.
“Traditionally, you will see mostly UAAP and NCAA teams like La Salle, UST, UP, NU, St. Benilde, Lyceum, and others coming over along with teams from the Visayas and Mindanao. Nationwide talaga yung participation dito (Our participation here is nationwide),” said PSL President Ian Laurel, who was with United Auctioneers Inc. President Rommel Sytin during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at the Amelie Hotel-Manila on Tuesday.
Laurel was grateful for Unigames President and chairman of technical and games committee Roger Banzuela for making the partnership with the PSL possible.
“It was enough for the biggest college volleyball league in the country to partner with the PSL. That alone gives us great pride and joy to have that kind of partnership,” added the PSL official in the weekly session presented by San Miguel Corp., Braska Restaurant, Amelie Hotel, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
In return, the PSL will be giving out subsidies to competing teams in the form of equipment by providing nets and balls.
The league is also handing out the Dominic Sytin Perpetual Trophy to this year’s champion team.
For his part, Sytin also expressed gratitude to both PSL and Unigames for acknowledging the support his late brother has been given to the sport.
“I want to thank the PSL and Unigames for recognizing the effort of my late brother, who’s also a staunch supporter of UP,” he said.
“I want (this partnership) to last for a long time. Its’ worth it and it’s very ensuring to know that people support sport like what my brother had shown before.”
Added Laurel, “it’s not just the financial capability of the Sytin family, but for the love of Dominic for the sport, that really meant much more than the financial side. Yung pinakita ni Dominic na suporta sa (The support that Dominic showed to) women’s volleyball and at the college level when no one wants to support that team (UP), that made him very special to us.”
A total of 2,500 delegates are expected to compete in the 24th edition of the Unigames which has the theme, ‘The Games that Bring Us Together for Unity and Peace.’
Aside from volleyball, competitions will also be held in basketball, athletics, and football. (PR)
