since i see some people talking about this, nobody is asking you to boycott the new sonic/persona/yakuza games - but you should sign the petition telling SoA to remain neutral during unionisation efforts

ME (literally wearing a badge that says 'UNION REP'): We'll be better able to renegotiate our contracts and pay if we organise and share our information, in advance of new contracts being written up, when we're forcibly transferred to a different department.
CO-WORKER (whom I've encouraged to join our union more than once): Agreed!
ME: And we'd be better able to do that with allies possessing experience and expertise in negotiating contracts, as well as legal consultation.
CO-WORKER: You're right!
ME (another badge on my bag reads 'THE UNION MAKES US STRONG'): You see where I'm going with this, right...
CO-WORKER (literally blinking obliviously): Huh?
[conversation continues, slightly frustatingly for us both]
CO-WORKER: When we're moved to the new department, they'll just have to give us a payrise.
ME: Only if we push for it. They'll give us as little as they can.
CO-WORKER: Well we got a payrise in January.
ME (eyes glinting red): And who do you think pushed and got it increased from an offer of 0% to 3% to 5%? That's material gain specifically thanks to union action.
CO-WORKER: Well that's still not enough though.
ME (literally wearing a t-shirt featuring a hammer and sickle): Well we're still pushing!

If I see ANYONE complain about their fav shows next season being delayed due to WGA and SAG strikes it's kill ON SIGHT. Is this show really good enough it's worth letting writers starve and lose their homes for the next season to come out? Being upset over this is valid. That's the point, to make us upset. But don't take the anger out on the people striking, take it out on the studios leaving them no other choice

It's with great difficulty that I put my pride aside here.
As a transgender man, currently living in the UK, it's hell. The waiting list of the NHS for my region is close to 6 years, my back is fucked due to binding my chest ("don't bind and exercise"... I work hospitality. I don't have a choice), to the point I ended up stuck in bed for 10h in tears due to spasms, unable to get an ambulance cause... the health system is not doing ok. I work in a café/bookshop; the mental exhaustion of having JK Rowling mentioned daily, debating trans rights to validating my existence, my family cutting all ties with me... it's rough mate. But it's life, my life.
I need help. If not to fund my transition going private (as this would average £1500 just to start...!), to at least afford a chiropractor for my back and neck so I can be able to move up to a full-time contract and save money, and for counselling.
Chiropractor is £40 initial cost for the examination, then £35 per treatment, which I'm hoping a course of 3 treatments should put me back on track.
Counselling is £20 a seance via my local volunteering counselling group.
My Pa*Pal
Every little help, even just a reblog would be greatly appreciated.
For people not living in the UK and for more context : many industries are striking right now (as they should. Get a union people!), the NHS is crumbling down, the government is fucked but hey, Harry wrote a book huh. Some people can't afford to put the heating on, people are queuing at the food bank and it's been 3 months that a friend of mine is sleeping on my sofa because the council, housing agents and homelessness emergency helpline are all backed up and virtually useless right now. Two other people I know had to face homelessness within the last month. Everything is ✨️fucked ✨️
I give back to the community the best I can : volunteering at my local LGBTQ+ charity, connecting people by having a coffee/chat monthly event to help reduce the isolation of elderly people, organising exhibitions about the queer history, bookfares... but it's only last week-end, when my back once again was being a pain due to the cold and humidity that I realised that I, myself, also need help, laying there in bed like a grumpy old man being so proud and stubborn it was low-key laughable...
So if you can help, thank you so much. If you can't, thank you for at least reading me ❤️
Fuck the government, fuck politics, strike like there's no tomorrow, fight for your rights, unionise, be loud, be proud, don't be a c*nt and hand in hand, I'll support you, you'll support me, and we'll get there together. Solidarity forever.

Guys guys. The Restaurant I chef in just had a major budget cut for no reason (we are literally making record profits) and all the chefs had their hours cut. Not this annoyed them all, and I have heard muttering of unionisation. They are so few restaurants in the UK that are unionised. Like the Cheffing industry is so anti Union that even the workers muttering about it is a major step in any restaurant. I really think we might unionise this time. God I hope so.
I have always said their is power in a Union. God I am so excited if this works. I might be able to get my one 20 minute break in an 8 hour shift in which I am constantly standing up and moving heaving things in a swelteringly hot room (except for the fridges and freezers which are painfully cold) up to 25 minutes and get all my hours back.
To all British Chefs of Tumblr Unionise. Get an actual healthy amount of a break and get fair pay. Like you do a very very hard job. Like you deserve to be treated better.

Hopefully you can see these and tumblr hasn't broken the formatting too much. They all say "Raise Minimum Wage" because I am angry.

Boss makes a dollar
I make a dime
That was a rhyme from a simpler time
Now the boss makes a thousand
While I make a cent
We've got employees that can't make rent
The ceo makes millions and we make jack
That's why we riot to take the means back
Now Mr boss if that seems extreme
It sure beats the guillotine
While the men on wall street lining their pockets full of greed
They expect us to be on our knees
Begging for our basic needs
They treat us like numbers, like cattle, like things
They don't see us like real human beings
Your boss doesn't care no matter what they say
They will replace you within the day
Those in power understand it's them that needs us, not the other way round
If they don't start listening to us, we'll burn this place down
They understand that if we have the power
They will be the ones to cower

Unless you have been the sole nurse on a unit (whilst your one colleague is on break) finding a patient with no heart beat, call the crash team and initiate a CPR/resus attempt alone: you do not get to say the NHS has enough nurses.
At the moment, this is a scenario most NHS nurses worry about whilst going to work every day.
For each extra patient a nurse has outside the safe ratio of care, mortality for those patients raises 7%.
Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary’s, solution is that nurses should work harder. We’re already doing the work of 4 nurses, 2 assistants, the cleaner and cook. We are already exhausted.
Patients do not deserve to be treated by exhausted nurses.
Nurses deserve to be able to treat their patients whilst not compromising on self care.

A big fuck you to riot for laying off so many amazing workers!
It makes me furious to know that the people who've brought us Heartsteel, KDA, who ve written the lore and made sure that the world around League feels alive and engaging hold so little value to the CEO's.
Its a gutpunch, and i hope it will hurt Riot's ass.

My boss: [the manager of our client/partner] emailed me to tell you they don't want you mentioning unions to their employees.
Me: I'm pretty sure it's illegal to explicitly forbid union members organising, but the national industrial action has been announced publicly anyway.
Boss: Well they just don't want you to mention it.
Me: Remember on my first day, when I had to walk in due to rail strikes, and you said I could work from home for as long as those strikes continued? This is just like that. All I did was ask [our client/partner] if they were aware of the ongoing industrial action in order to address possible delays.
Boss: But if you were a member of the rail union --
Me: Which I am.
Boss: 😐
