watching mikayla mags videos bc @ros3ybabe talked about her in the tag game and I was curious, and I'm really liking her vibe. Also, I've only watched 4 eps of Pokemon Horizons, but I'm loving it sm so far

Today:

🔹had awful insomnias tonight but used that time to finally finish revising the Biomechanics material and finish watching Castle in the Air (highly recommend, i loved it)

🔹Texted A so they can return stuff I lent them (i literally lent them a book A WHOLE YEAR ago, and now we barely talk, so this has been making me really anxious for months)

🔹dinner with my sis and we're going to a concert!!! There's a string quartet that is playing Hans Zimmer compositions (among those, the Spirit soundtrack, im feral about that), so I can't wait to see them tonight!!!

And that's mostly it, gotta go get ready for my sister to pick me up🥰

Day 3 (19/11/23)🌟

hey! today it was a good day and i was able to appreciate even the little things. i woke up early and i completed my skincare routine🧚‍♀️

i also:

did some housework🧹

called my family and talked to one of my little sisters who was making cookies👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

went grocery shopping🍎

went for a walk by the sea🌊

uni things

i didn't study infectious diseases today because I will dedicate the whole next week to it. also i'm so happy to do my internship in pediatrics and tomorrow i'll see the kids again and i'll discuss with the professor about my thesis there. i don't know if i'll be able to become a pediatrician in the future but at the momente it is my only source of motivation, maybe i can do it 🩺

Language things

MANDARIN CHINESE: i continued with my Superchinese app lesson. today I've learned some vocab about simple activities (书，看，电影，做) and the grammar 想 whic means want to. my writing is still bad but ill try to improve it 🇨🇳

KOREAN: the clip from the seventeen's blog in Budapest seems endless lol. jokes aside, i focused on the various forms of 것 같다 (present, past and future tenses) and I practiced them with my own example sentences. also I found out new usages of the verb 보다 to express past experiences and to recommend to try something. I also found out how to say i burned my tongue while i was tasting the food (literally what happened to me yesterday !!) 맛을 보다가 혀를 데었어요. I share my really disorganized notes but I like them in that way🇰🇷

i didn't practice any japanese today, i just played some game of shiritori and kanji quiz on the renshuu app 🇯🇵

now im going to shower and semi-dress up to go out with my friend, it was a good day!

6 months

I'm doing good.

I've got some new psychiatric diagnoses here and medication and even psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic group and it's never been clearer and calmer in my head than now. what a proper diagnosis and medication do!

I've ended my first GE/Endo rotation and this week starts my second GE/Endo rotation so basically nothing changes for me besides that the one more person comes to my rotation and it is a senior resident so life gets more easy and I can finally open some books and learn deeply and not only freestyle rage diagnostics and 5 hours a day in grossing room.

but firstly I'm taking my first vacation from Thursday this week for two weeks. I'll fly to Vienna for one week to finally send my stuff here and move properly. Winter comes and all my clothes and warm blankets and everything is still there. Afterwards my plan is just to stay home one more week and to do nothing. Ofc I'll play videogames and hopefully also paint/draw. This year no inktober for me.

BUT I'm on call this weekend. Tomorrow is also a national holiday and I'm still on call. Yesterday I spent some time grossing and dictating leftover stuff from the week.

It's my second on call weekend. In my first, a couple weeks ago I did some grossing on Saturday (it's usually so, we just call surgery on Saturday in the morning so they send everything from the fridge to our fridge) and then there was a frozen section on Sunday. Some residents never got it in their on call weekends but I guess I'm just lucky :)

It was an incidental finding in salivary gland of one brain d3ad patient and they wanted to explant everything possible, you can't do if there a malignancy. So we got to check if it was malign or not. It wasn't. So approx. 4-5 lives were saved and someone got the best present ever possible.

I think all the time that I should write here more or even post some histology or whatever weird stuff I experience/find at work but I'm still learning to do something extra besides 10+ work hours a day.

How to survive your first year in uni

(from a 3rd year student that only learned all this this past semester)

(applicable to other stages of your academic life, ofc, i was needing this advice rn in the end of my bachelor's)

1. Find ways to be interested in all classes.

Being it by watching documentaries/movies, wanting to be the smartass that knows quantum physics in family reunions, or wanting to tutor your crush on maths (not me doing that to learn integrals lol). You have to at least find a short term motivation to study for that class. That's the most important bit to be able to study it. But of course you also have to be interested in your classes, so try to watch tv shows about it to make it look cooler. (me watching big bang theory and realizing I understand some physics equations)

2. Find other people who are also interested in your classes

For example, this year in radiations class, i would have given up on being on track with the classes if my friend wasn't a master in radiations. They always answer my curiosity questions, and give me fun facts, so it helps me be interested in it. Also, other people's enthusiasm about a course is going to make you so much more excited about it.

3. Ask questions to your teachers.

I promise it won't be dumb. And even if it is, i promise it won't be in the top 10 dumbest questions they ever had to answer in their career.

My rad prof said in our first class that a master's degree student had once asked her what is a photon, and she answered bc there is no shame. (he was a comp sci undergrad, so he genuinely didn't know) That helped me feel more at ease asking her questions tbh, bc now i feel like every question is valid.

4. Don't worry if you are unsure about your future.

Everyone is. The only ppl that aren't unsure are the Rory Gilmore's of this world that had the same dream for so long that they don't even know if it's still their dream or not.

You're still changing, literally during my first year i had two different mental breakdowns thinking I chose the wrong degree. Which was just the stress and uncertainty speaking, bc im still very much enjoying my degree lol. (and the funniest bit, one of those mental breakdowns was me thinking i wanted to switch for computer science, but now i think that wouldn't do it for me. I changed my interests so much since then)

5. Make time for friends.

Both your "old" friends and trying to meet new ones. It will help you not to go insane during exams period lol. Also, try to talk to students from the years above you, they'll have so much advice to give you (you just have to say you're a newbie in uni, and they'll literally start rambling about their 1st year mistakes, at least that's what me and my friends do with the new kids lol)

I need some help from the public. I'm a lowly third-year undergrad with plans of going all the way to a PhD. At the seminar last week, one of the PhD candidates invited me to a postgrad club he founded that goes to this very cool medieval-looking bar. I took a look at who is going, and it looks like I'm going to be the youngest person there by a long shot. Now, I have no idea what to wear. I don't want to be too fancy when it's casual or too casual when it's fancy. If anyone has any outfit ideas, that would be super duper amazing. Also, I'm gonna try out this new format for my posts. Saw someone do it, and it looks very cool and organised.

What I'm up to:

Watching 'Alone' on Netflix while editing notes.

Catching up on Medieval Philosophy and Philosophy of Science lectures.

Starting my Medieval Philosophy essay.

Getting my knee chewed on by my demonic cat.

Unlocking the bus station on Stardew Valley.

Make banana chocolate chip muffins.

Apply to full-time jobs for the Summer.

my men are gone i really can't believe this😭😭😭 as soon as i woke up very early and I saw videos and photos and tae's and jin's posts they made me really emotional, THEY ALREADY SERVED!! so i did everything to distract myself, actually it was a pretty productive day (Alexa play pied piper idk)

these are some things i've done today:

wash and skincare routine🧚‍♀️

japanese lesson about て form with the app renshuu and a yt video by miku real japanese (i've just learned how to conjugate it and few of the usages, there are so many of them!) 🇯🇵

learned new korean vocab watching some shorts by miss vicky and of course i've written my to do list in korean🇰🇷

drove my lil sister to school👩‍🏫

went to my grandma's house to study for my finals in a more quiet environment, i've almost studied for eight hours i'm exhausted but I have to finish an important chapter before bed 🦠

also, shoutout to my crazy uni schedule because luckily i lost jimin and jungkook's live.... i watched pieces of them on social media and I was tearing up I'M FINE I PROMISE👍👍👍👍👍

right now i'm working out on the cyclette i hope to find more time for excerce🏃‍♀️

chatted with some friends and now I have to call one of my uni friends 💌

The sound of the clanky keys coming from far away that were better being fit through the keyhole of Heeseung’s apartment was audible through the walls.

As footsteps being to escalate in the apartment, you dropped all of the things in your hand, your phone, and the couch pillow, and ran towards those footsteps.

You gave the figure a big hug at his torso, not letting go, to the point he reached out to let his bag down, with a screech of, “Help, I can’t breathe”.

You cried into his chest.

“Don’t ever do that to me again. I thought you left me, and I wouldn’t be able to see you ever again.”

“Luv, I’m so sorry for leaving you here, it’s just you looked so cute to be woken up for, just to go to a store,” he says brushing the stray hair out of your face, wiping your tears with his finger.

You hugged him again, as you missed being in his arms. The words you said into his shoulder were cut off because of the sniffles getting to you from crying.

“I.. I’m sorry for ly.. lying to you.”

“What?”

“I was accepted into the uni in Canada too, but I wanted to joke around with you n.. not knowing it would go t.. this far.”

“Yep.”

“It’s ok. I’ll always forgive you for two reasons. Because you’re cute, and you’re my girlfriend. Don’t ever do that again though it hurt.”

You nodded, laughing afterward, knowing exactly which moment he was talking about. The moment he called you cute for the first time.

“So, Canada.”
