Do you ever just think about how awful it is to be a demigod before you know about it?

I've been thinking about it a lot lately. How much demigod kids and teenagers don't fit in with mortal society. Their mortal parents don't know what to do with them, even if they do care for them immensely. They are labeled as troublemakers, as bad kids, as mentally ill, as freaks and monsters who see things they shouldn't see and have an aversion to authority that they shouldn't have and a strong sense of justice and an inability to sit still, read, play, act, feel normally. Percy got in trouble for getting into fights, for speaking impulsively, he was mocked and spoken down to and expelled from lots of schools who couldn't handle him and he didn't know why until he was twelve years old. Sally wasn't able to tell him why.

Annabeth was the product of her father's relationship with a goddess, and he loved her for a while, but she wasn't a normal kid. When he fell in love with a mortal and Annabeth didn't get along with her or her kids, he chose the mortal side. How could he understand Annabeth's side? She was just a badly behaved kid, while his new wife and children were the normal good ones.

Jason always knew he was a demigod, he was accepted and praised and tons of expectations were placed on him from a frighteningly young age. Part of the reason the others resent him and see him as a sort of golden child is because he was placed on a pedestal and he will never, ever know what it was like for all of his friends to be looked down on as children, to be scolded for things they didn't understand and told that the things they saw and experienced constantly were not real.

Piper was always loved by her father but I think he loved the idea of her, he loved that she reminded him of the beautiful woman he met years ago. He was always kind to her and usually gave her things she wanted, but he couldn't always spend time with her as his job got busier. Piper sensed that her father's attention was occupied by something else, and as he got busier, she felt less supported and stole things and got in fights and her dad didn't know what to do with her after the BMW so she was sent to a troubled teen program where she was bullied for her disabilities and her race.

Leo feared his power because it killed the person he loved the most, and after that, everything in his life was hell. He didn't feel safe anywhere, he didn't have anyone he could trust, and adults saw him as a troublemaker who would never amount to anything.

The books don't emphasize these things as much with any of the other demigods, or maybe Annabeth, Percy, Piper, and Leo are the best examples we have. I just. They're so tragic. They're all my children all of them. I love them and I feel so sad for them

And I'm still annoyed.

This was a few weeks ago now but it still irritates me, most likely because I came up with a valid counter point days later 🤦

I completely get where she's coming from in terms of it makes her diagnosis feel less valid, etc..

But she doesn't work and therefore has less exposure to the general public. And I think when you're in a working environment, when not only do you get exposure but you also get the know people and see how differently they're able to run their lives in comparison to you, you realise just how different you really are.. and suddenly this "everyone" she is talking about doesn't exist.

I’ve decided today I will try to go into Star Fox. Star Fox has honestly become second best example of characters who might be more known for their appearances in smash than their own games. Mostly because Fox and Falco are both well loved in super smash bros melee. Star Fox has arguably not had a great or good game since Star Fox 64, which is nuts. That being said

There aren’t a lot of requested characters for this franchise, mostly because every time they add one it’s still a variation of Fox. So when people request a star fox character that doesn’t have a similar move set to Fox himself. So they usually request Krystal from Star Fox adventures and give her the abilities Fox had in that game since the staff he was using in that game was her staff. I’ll give an hornorable mention to Peppy using the on foot fighting style that was in star fox assault. But that being said…

Man, it was surprisingly challenging to find an official art of this character that isn’t horny. What the hell? Anyhow I’ve chosen Krystal who became a regular appearing character after star fox adventure for the GameCube. I’ll admit the main motivation for picking her is simple, a character from star fox that doesn’t have a similar move set to fox! Goodness gracious they haven’t been original with star fox characters! I’ll admit that unlike previous posts i don’t have a full move set for this character. All that matters is that she fights with her staff and doesn’t fight like Fox or Falco. But I’ll try to do something here.

For Neutral B she might use the projectile from the staff itself, one of the primary mechanics of star fox adventure. Continuous fire can be aimed.

For Up B she will slam her staff on the ground launching her upward. The air version will obviously defy logic and she’ll hit nothing but still launch upward.

For Side B she will put the staff in front of her and dash forward.

For Down B she will slam the staff on the ground electrifying the ground around her for a short stun effect.

I know this move set isn’t particularly inspired as previous ones I’ve come up with, especially when compared to Zoda or Hector or Blaze. But Krystal doesn’t really lend herself to an overly creative move set.

I am sorry for the low quality of this particular post but Star Fox doesn’t really need another representative. I think tomorrow I’ll talk a franchise that definitely doesn’t need another representative but I’m far more passionate about in the dumbest way.

Autism themes in SxF

I’ll preface this by saying that this is my interpretation of the source material. I am by no means trying to start wars, this is my own personal opinion, and you’re entitled to your own. This is just how I see it.

I’m autistic. And there’s never really been a good representation of people like me in media. You get two types of autistic representation in films or shows: the super genius and the ‘low functioning’ non verbal autistic. The representation is kinda shitty, and I can’t list off the top of my head autistic characters I’ve actually felt represented any of us well. So, usually, we have to turn to headcanons. Finding small hints and qualities in characters that you can see in yourself. Personally, I’ve always headcanoned Yor as autistic, as I can relate to her want for normalcy. 

I was talking with a friend today about chapter 86 of the manga, and he was like “you know, he [Loid] sounds Autistic.” And in my head I was like “I dunno, maybe?”. Then, when I started to explain it:

“So yeah he relaxes around her because he knows he can be himself…and yeah you’re right that sounds autistic.”

So today I’m going to discuss the autistic undertones of Spy x Family. So strap in because you are going to here an autistic rant from a mentally ill kid, and there is no end in sight. 

So, part of Yor’s character motivation is wanting normalcy, like in Chapter two. Her seeing all the ‘normal’ people, wanting to be like them. And in chapter 65, Yor continues with wondering what normal really is, wondering if she’ll ever be normal. Normalcy is a major theme in the series, the story often wondering what normal families really are. I’ve often felt like I’m not normal, like I’ll never be normal, and I’ve always really related to Yor on that. 

Another theme is the sort of ‘putting on a show’ sort of thing. The Forgers are always putting on a show in public, pretending to be the perfect happy family, while underneath they’re a sham. Lying to the audience that is the world is, like, total autism vibes. 

And, yeah, Chapter 86 honestly feels like an autism metaphor of sorts. We often forget that Twilight is also a mask, hiding [REDACTED] behind it. When Loid is with Yor, he (subconsciously) feels like he can be himself, let bits of [REDACTED] leak through his facade. Beneath the layers of spy-ness, he’s still a human being with feelings and shit and Idk man this rant kinda got away from me.

Uni work has been kicking my ass a lot and I’m hoping personally that all of its stress that it’s caused me goes away soon, and as I’m a third year, I bet most of you guys can probably tell what it’s been like (it’s hell).

For anyone who may be viewing this right now, I wanted to say I hope you’re all doing well with whatever you might be sorting out in your lives, whether that be something like uni or a passion or anything else like that. I want you all to know that someone is there as a means of guidance, to help support you through the tough times: such as:

A trusted friend

Lecturer or teacher

A family member of trust

Counsellor or well-being advisor

Samaritan volunteer

An organised group of individuals that suffer from similar worries (e.g. uni autism groups, which I’m a part of as I have it affect my life)

Any other person who you feel comfortable with sharing stuff of concern.

I’ve felt disorganised and concerned surrounding how well I feel regarding the last push to get to enjoying myself for the weeks ahead, but if anyone needed to hear this, I want to share you ain’t alone. It’s something I’ve had a hard time getting around and only up until now have I felt like I was able to find things I can be hopeful for. You are an important person. Whomever it may concern, I hope it can be seen as something that can be reflected regardless of who you are.

And feel free to reach out.

To talk to people.

To write stuff down.

To watch a show to help keep your mind off of things.

To listen to music.

To play a game.

To read a book.

To imagine and enjoy the fandoms that you are a part of.

And above all else, remember that if you feel that it comes to a point where you really are unsure of what’s going on.

You’re only human. And that’s okay.

No matter how we may deal with things that go on in our lives, we can only keep pressing on. I hope that for us all, or to anyone who sees this, that it can act as one way of stopping to think, to take a deep breath or whatever that helps be who we are the people we are today. I got diagnosed at 6 years old with ADHD which is very uncommon for my demographic as we tend to present more inwardly, but being the little anomaly I am— I present outwardly, so I matched the "boyish" description the psychologists were taught to look for

My Myers Briggs is INFP I know it's pseudoscience but it actually describes me pretty well. Not perfect by any means but it's still a pretty solid description

I'm a Leo, my Sun is in Leo, my Moon is in Aquarius, and I'm a Capricorn rising! I don't know what this shit means but I'm gay as hell and queer people love knowing these for some reason. I mean I don't think I'm gonna find the future love of my life on Tumblr or anything, but hell, I won't complain

Stuff like cute tiny screws, bent nails, assorted small plastic shapes/things, pendants and charms, pins, worthless coins, lost or broken earrings, and other shiny/pretty little knickknacks and doodads (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)

I love listening to music/singing along off key, and writing poetry. I also really love reading, but mostly fantasy, sci-fi, and romance novels, preferably ones with two or more of those themes/side plots(⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

Despite all my other hobbies and interests, playing videogames is probably my favorite one— or at least very close, depending on the day! I'm a PlayStation girly, (no hate at ALL to Xbox players, it's just the PS4 was my first and only console, and I don't like how the Xbox controller is laid out! ♡) and my favorites include: Mass Effect Legendary edition, Red Dead Redemption 2, Days Gone, The Last of Us 1 & 2, The Ghost of Tsushima, Skyrim, Life is Strange remastered & Life is Strange Before the Storm, God of War & God of War Ragnarok, Untill Dawn, The Sims 4, Minecraft, and Splitgate. I also really love Balders Gate 3 but exclusively by/from watching different playthroughs because I can't afford a PS5 lmao </3
