Nice to meet you little one
Content - first time regression around multiple people, auntie robin, auntie Nancy, uncle Steve, big brother Dustin, soft toys, colouring in, nervous reader, self conscious reader, reassurance, fluff, don’t like don’t read.
Summary - you were always too nervous to regress in front of your friends but when you wake up one morning feeling little you forget you have plans with them, well no time like the present.
Authors note - requested by @littlephia, I didn’t know whether to make Dustin uncle Dustin or big brother Dustin but I went with big brother, I had so much fun writing this request I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Ever since the gang had learned about your age regression they had wanted to meet your little side but you were just always to nervous, you always thought they were just saying it so you thought they approved. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Your friends adored everything about you and they just wanted to get to know all of you. They had tried to make sure that you knew they didn't think anything of it but they could never get you to open up too them.
Tomorrow the plan was to go and see a new film at the cinema since you had all been waiting for it and Steve had figured out a way to sneak Dustin in. It was a bit unconventional because Steve needed to find a way through the back but he managed it like he always does.
Your plans were completely set in stone, that was until you woke up.
───── ⋆⋅◇⋅⋆ ─────
Eddie knew before you even woke up that you were feeling little, your arm was clinging onto the side of your pillow and your eyes kept lightly fluttering every so often. Quietly moving from the bed Eddie knew that he would have to call Steve, walking over to the phone he dialled Steve’s home number.
“Hello, who is is?” Steve said sleepily “hey Harrington it’s Eddie” he said quietly careful not to wake you “hey man what’s up?” “I was just calling to tell you that we won’t be able to make it today” “why? Is Y/N okay is she sick?” He asked worriedly “no, no she’s fine it’s just I reckon she’s gonna feel a bit little when she wakes up so I just thought I’d warn you all.”
“Oh, we’ll you don’t have too cancel, we don’t have to see the film you guys could just come around here, besides I double check the back entrance into the cinema and they’ve changed the locks so we couldn’t bring Henderson in anyway” Steve said with a chuckle.
Oh that was an idea
Eddie had discussed it with Steve and they had decided that if you were comfortable with it then that's what they would do.
Walking back to the bedroom Eddie saw you moving in the bed "good morning sweetheart, how are you feeling?" “Morningg” you said elongating your words and sucking your black soft rabbits ear “how about we get your dummy out for that little one” Eddie chuckled opening his bedside table.
After placing the dummy in your mouth Eddie lifted you up onto his hip and brought the two of you into the living room “I had a chat with Steve this morning angel” he mentioned examining your face. Realisation dawned on you and you instantly tried to make yourself bigger “hey, hey sweetheart none of that come here” he said gently moving you back into his side. “He said that if your comfortable we can go round there when your small.
This was a very hard decision on the one hand you really wanted to see your friends but on the other you didn’t want them to judge you.
“Will they be mean?” You asked looking up at Eddie with teary eyes “no baby no no no of course not” he cooed at you brushing the small stray tear out of your eyes “you promise” “i promise sweetheart, do you wanna go?” He asked placing a kiss to the tip of your nose “okay” you giggled into his neck.
───── ⋆⋅◇⋅⋆ ─────
Steve couldn’t remember the last time he was this excited.
Eddie had called him back and told him that you would like to go, immediately after he had called robin, Nancy and Dustin to tell them about the change of plan and they were very much looking forward too it. Steve had gone to pick them up earlier to swing around the toy shop. They. Were so excited to meet this part of you the had all decided to buy you something.
After making it back to Steve’s oversized house robin and Nancy went around looking for anything potentially dangerous and put it on higher shelves that were out of your reach.
While the 4 of them waited for your arrival they went over some rules that Eddie had addressed to him over the phone. “Okay so he said no shouting, no loud noises and a minimal amount of swearing-“ “god we really are dealing with a different side to Y/N, normally she swears like a sailor” robin chuckled playing with the ice cubes in her drink.
───── ⋆⋅◇⋅⋆ ─────
You were trying to distract yourself by playing with your seatbelt taking in the rough texture. Looking down at it you never realised how intricate the details were. It was pretty all the patters looked manufactured and everything was in the right place. A machine probably did it- “sweetheart are you ok?” Eddie said gently looking at you out of the corner of his eyes.
“Mhm” you mumbled looking forward at the road “nervous huh?” He said softly stroking the side of your hand “yeah” “oh angel, that’s understandable but they’re really looking forward to meeting you. They aren’t going to judge you.”
Pulling into Steve’s driveway you felt a wave of anxiety fall over you. Hearing your heavy breathing Eddie moved around in his seat to embrace you “shh little one, I’m not going to force you to go in there if it’s too much okay just say the word and we can go back home.” He said gently looking at you for your response.
“No daddy I wanna go, just need a minute” you said resting your head on his shoulder “okay honey just let me know when your ready.”
A few minutes later Eddie unbuckled your seat belt and cradled you body to his chest after throwing your duffel bag over his shoulder. After walking up the footpath you reached the front door and Eddie rang the buzzer.
Seeing Steve opening the door you clung to Eddie a bit tighter “shh shh it’s ok” he said giving you a gentle kiss on your forehead “hey man” Steve said addressing Eddie “hey Harrington, you gonna let us in or what?” He chuckled bouncing you lightly in his arms “yeah yeah of course” he said moving aside.
Stepping across the threshold you looked forward in at your lap trying to avoid eye contact with anybody “there she is” you heard Nancy gasp happily. You definitely didn’t expect that.
Eddie sat down on the couch with you in his arms and held one of your hands “say hi sweetheart” “hiii” you said elongating your words and played with your thumbs they all cooed at how sweet you sounded making Eddie chuckle and you bury your head in his shirt “aww do we have a shy angel?” Robin said making you giggle.
After a few minutes you had settled down enough that you weren’t clinging onto Eddie anymore. After a short while of sitting there you had realised that Steve and Dustin were nowhere to be seen “where’s dusty and Stevie?” You asked Nancy hearing the light sniggering of Eddie at the nicknames. “They’ll be back soon love they’ve just gone to grab some stuff” she said cheekily eyeing Eddie.
About 5 minutes later Dustin and Steve came back with each arm holding a bag, oh that’s interesting.
With the 4 of them slightly gathered around you they placed the bag next to Eddie knowing that it would be a bit harder for you to unwrap it in your headspace.
The first one was Nancy’s it was a light pink rabbit with floral fabric in the ears.
The second one was Dustin’s it was a mushroom with white and green spots.
The third one was from Steve and it was a small fluffy grey kitten with a pink noise.
And the fourth one was from Robin and it was a soft badger wearing a suit and a scarf.
You were so excited “thank you!” You squealed making grabby hands and giving them each a hug. After a while robin and Nancy had requested to have a cuddle with you once Eddie had gotten conformation from you that you were okay he passed you over to Nancy.
Steve had put on a film called an American tail for you to watch an robin and Nancy cooed anytime you let out a small giggle or a smile graced your face. They absolutely adored you. Later on Dustin had done some dnd colouring in pages with you and Steve had helped Eddie get you to sleep.
You had really underestimated your friends they absolutely loved you, you were really glad you went because now you had 2 aunties 1 uncle and a big brother not to mention you already had the most amazing daddy.

so sorry i've been forgetting to send you my asks bbg
could you do eddie munson or billy hargrove as a dad?
📯
eddie as a dad coming right up tbh
Tumblr media
the recital :: e. munson
Tumblr media
mother!reader x eddie munson
summary :: who knew the freak was so good with kids?
warnings :: children, school, crowds, use of y/n, use of mom, mommy, momma, daddy and dad, school theatre, mentions of babies, vulgar language, loud crowds, she/her y/n
Tumblr media
everyone filed into the auditorium loudly. parents, babies, friends and teachers were jammed into their seats. y/n and eddie were sat in one of the middle rows, more off to the edge.
“when did it say it started?” eddie looks at the pamphlet for what seemed like the 100th time that evening. “about five minutes to, honey, dont worry.”
the couple sat in silence for a second, looking around the room as more people filled into their row. “i hope you’re excited. i’m excited. y/n, are you excited?” she flipped her head over to her left to see a steve harrington, still in his button-up from work. did he fucking speed to get over here?
“d’you think he’s excited?” another head popped out. robin. gosh, she looks good. her hair is slightly curled and put in a ponytail, a ribbon to hold it in place. vicky must’ve forced her. or nancy.
“hey, robi, how’s it goin?” eddie leans forward to see her. “pretty good, pretty good. excited to see some kids as per usual.” she joked sarcaatically, but obviously the couple in the row ahead didn’t appreciate it, because they grimaced at her. “m- no- i’m a babysitt-“
the lights dimmed as everyone settled down, robin huffing because her point wasn’t clear yet.
the red curtains opened, revealing a small set, probably made by the children (LMFOA). there was a tower to the left and a tree just below, a well in the centre and an apple tree to the far right.
a small girl dressed as a farmer ran out to the well. “is that love? love’s in this?” steve questioned to the couple. “steve, why do you think we’re here?”
love, more affectionately known as lovely, was eddie and y/n’s daughter. infact, she’d just turned six a week ago!
“well well well, what do we have here? what’re you doin on this side of the green, gerald? thought you were banned from this side.”
another farmer, dressed in blue, came onto the stage, smirking. “yeah, donny, but you’ve stolen something from me. and i want it back.”
both the children were speaking in thick, country accents, making the whole ordeal funnier than it really was.
“is that so, gerald?” gerald nods. “well, you’re gonna have to leave. or you’ll be leavin’ this side o’ town with something different from what you want.”
gerald’s eyes widened. “you dare threaten me? my pappy will haunt you, how dare you threaten me?!”
this’ll be a long play.
Tumblr media
after the play was finished, the friends waited in the lobby for love. steve had a bouquet of flowers he didn’t have at the start of the show and robin had a look on her face she didn’t have at the start of the show, either.
“-oh, and the cow? i didn’t think they’d be fighting over a cow!” steve exclaimed, robins frown reaching furthermore into the ground.
the four heard little footsteps behind them, robin’s face contorting into a neutral, smiley face as they turn to look at the kid.
“daddy!” love exclaimed at eddie, running to her dad as she jumped into his arms, eddie picking her off the ground and kissing all over her face. “hey, bug! you did so good! oh, we’re so proud of you, lovely.” he smiled at his daughter, the carbon copy of eddie.
she had eddie’s dark curls and his brown eyes. when she was born, everyone said she looked like him, but eddie grimaced. of course, he loves his daughter and would die for her, but in that moment in time, she “looked like a piece of chewed-up wood,” according to eddie.
“did’ja see me, daddy? di’ja?!” she squirmed around in his arms. “yes, bug! you were amazing!”
y/n walks over to her family, cupping her daughters face and kissing it all around. “awesome job, my love, you were amazing!” she looked up at her husband, who was still holding the child, and smiled at him with a small glimmer in her eyes. eddie’s heart skipped a beat.
see, its hard for eddie to find someone who treats him normally, but luckily he scored y/n, who treats him like a human, and hes so glad he did.
so yeah, she may treat her husband like a normal human being, bare minimum. but the way she looks at him?
like he’s the only human on earth.

Just got this image in my mind that Eddie introduced Steve to Wayne as the guy who carried him out of hell. Wayne immediately saw him as the guy who could keep his boy safe, so he started inviting Steve over for dinner all the time. He didn't out Eddie, but he kind of started dropping hints about Eddie's availability. He brags about talented his nephew is to Steve, and when Steve reveals he doesn't know how to play the guitar, Wayne pushes Eddie to teach him. It goes on for a long time after that until one night, Eddie walks Steve out the door.
"Uh, is your uncle trying to set me up with you?" Steve asked.
"Yeah," Eddie said with a snort.
"Why doesn't he already know that we're dating?" Steve asked.
"I want to see how long I can keep this up for. I want to see if he breaks," Eddie snickers.
"BOY! I heard all that! You're not as quiet as you think you are!" Wayne hollered.
"Well, fuck."

Steve going into the trailer's kitchen, almost totally blind without his glasses on, sees a figure bending to put something in the oven, slaps their ass and says "what's cookin' good lookin'" only for Wayne Munson to turn around and say "Eddie's on the porch"

Eddie, at the hospital post Upside Down, is out of it because of meds and keeps blabbering nonsense. Dustin visits him with Steve and Eddie keeps referring to him as his son.
Dustin replies jokingly with "Yeah and this is your husband, Steve" and rolls his eyes.
And if Eddie has some memory of parenting Dustin, he doesn't recall ever being in a relationship with Steve, which makes him come to the conclusion that he must've lost his memory.
Dustin feels immensely guilty as Eddie keeps apologizing to Steve in tears, for forgetting such a "wonderful and beautiful husband".
It goes on for a few days and surprisingly, Steve gets quickly adjusted to being Eddie's husband.
When Eddie is finally better and doesn't need that many painkillers, he still remembers how he acted around Dustin and Steve.
He's too embarrassed to face them again so he asks his uncle to keep them away if they ever come to visit again. And they do.
Steve barges into the hospital room "What the hell is going on?"
Eddie can't blabber anything coherent so Steve presses "Do you want to divorce me? is that it?"
To which, for some unknown reason, Eddie takes offense to "What the fuck, Harrington?"
"Oh, I'm 'Harrington' now? great" he replies, clearly pissed "No, fantastic! You'll have a word with my lawyer."
"Lawyer??"
"I'm taking Dustin and you'll have to pay for child support!"
"You can't take Dustin! He's my kid too!"
Wayne and Dustin observe their whole discussion from the entrance door, too scared to come into the room.
"Does Steve really have a lawyer?" Wayne muses.
Dustin turns to him, scandalized "They aren't married! I'm not their child!"

Steve looking up at Uncle Wayne as the father figure he never had. Unlike his dad, he doesn’t cheat or disappear from his life when things get tough. Eddie loves it because it means he can see his boyfriend even more. It’s all fun and games until Steve goes to his father figure to complain about his boyfriend leaving him at a McDonald’s after a fight they had. Then Eddie has to deal with an upset boyfriend, a disappointed uncle, and an angry Robin to boot.
He has no choice but to take desperate measures. Eddie tells Hopper that Wayne is trying to take his “cool dad” spot in the Party and watches the chaos unfold.
By time anyone realizes what he’s done, he’s made up with Steve and escapes another murderous rage by the skin of his teeth. Mission accomplished, indeed.
Should I make this into a longer fic? I feel like I could go places with this lol

Sequel to Good People - The fic in wherein Wayne doesn't like Steve and overheard a conversation he shouldn't have. Here's the aftermath of that :3
Part One🦇Part Two🦇Final Part
-
Wayne had stayed in his bedroom long after he heard the boys leave. Eddie had knocked on his door to let him know he'd be staying at Steve's and to not expect him back until late tomorrow, a courtesy he'd never shown until after he'd been the victim of a manhunt back in spring. Wayne never asked him to do that but he thinks Eddie picked up on how worried Wayne would get if he were gone for any amount of time.
Eddie's always been good at reading people when he bothers to pay attention to them. Maybe that should have been enough reason for him to give pause to his dislike of the Harrington boy, instead of needing to overhear the boy crying about how he thinks there's something rotten deep within him that only Wayne can sense.
He'd been so sure he knew what kind of person Steve Harrington was. Eddie had been hung up on boys just like him pert-near his whole life, Wayne thinks, and it's never ended differently.
It's a Tuesday night and his friends usually gather at the bar on Friday nights, but Wayne needs to get out of the trailer to think. A beer might help. So, he grabs his keys and heads out.
He's been a regular at this bar since before he was even old enough to drink. Used to come with his pa, may he rest in peace, just to get out of the house. He's been a patron longer than any of the staff have worked there, he realizes.
"Hello Linda," Wayne greets as he takes a seat at the bar instead of at his usual table. He'd done a cursory glace when he came in and confirmed none of his drinking buddies were in before choosing the bar.
"This isn't your usual day," Linda says, leaning a hip on the counter, "but it's always a pleasure to see you."
"I got some thinkin' to do," Wayne replies and Linda nods and moves away, returning soon with a bottle of his usual beer. She picks up the bottle open and removes the cap before setting the drink down in front of him.
"Need a sounding board, hun?" She asks.
Wayne does a quick survey of the bar again but it's pretty quiet so he returns his gave to Linda and says, "if you wouldn't mind too much hearin' about how an old man might have messed up."
Linda laughs. "You aren't even half a decade older than me, so you best not be sprouting that 'old man' nonsense around me, 'cause I am not some old lady."
"Terribly sorry, Linda. I'm just really feelin' like an old fool."
A small frown comes to Linda's face then. "Now what could you have possibly done?"
"Well, I guess I'm tryin' to figure out if I did mess up. Eddie's got a friend and I don't trust 'im. Thought I had good reason not to, but, well, I overheard somethin' I wasn't supposed ta and now I'm not sure."
Linda hums, "hmm, that doesn't sound like you, judging someone unrightly. You are usually a good read about people."
"I'll admit, I haven't bothered to spend enough time with the boy to, uhh, judge him."
"Wayne Munson," Linda scolds, "you best not be telling me you judged that boy because of other people."
Judging by Linda's raising brow line, he thinks his guilt must be clear on his face. "You know Eddie, and how people have treated him. And with what he just went through- I just want 'im safe. Sure, his new friend graduated last year, but he was on the basketball team his whole career. And I'm jus' supposed ta believe this one boy didn't side with the group who started the manhunt?"
"Unless you've got evidence otherwise, yes," Linda says, brows furrowed.
Wayne sighs. "I ain't got proof. I got a lot of people sayin' he's good, actually. But it's the Harrington boy. The same boy Eddie would come home and complain 'bout. Harrington, Hagan, Hargrove, though I shouldn't speak ill of the dead. All them boys treatin' Eddie like he wasn't worth nothin' until they wanted somethin' form him."
Linda's mouth is almost a perfectly straight line with how much she's pursed her lips the more he talks, but she doesn't interrupt and no customer calls for her, so he continues.
"And you know what Richard Harrington was like. I know y'all only shared one school year together, but Janice wasn't any better, and she was your year, wasn't she?" Linda gives him one nod in response. "That boy's a product of them. I- You can't fault me for thinkin' differently."
"So, when do you expect Eddie to end up in prison?"
The question throws Wayne and fills him with anger at the same time. "Now, Linda, I ain't likin' what you are implyin'."
"I ain't implyin' nothing," she says, using the same tone with him that he did with her. "I'm applying your logic. Eddie's a product of his parents, ain't he? Al's in prison, and his mama's long gone, bless her soul. And since Eddie ain't sick, last I heard, he must be following after his daddy."
The anger leaves him then, and all he's left with is shame. "Point made. And if I'm bein' fully honest with ya, I don't even need ya to defend that boy. That thing I overheard. That what's eatin' at me. He called me good people."
Linda softens, shoulders dropping, "you are good people, hun."
"That boy told my Eddie that I'm 'good people', and that his parents are bad ones, and I. I don't know what to do about that."
"He thinks his own parents are bad?"
Wayne nods, "is what he said. Thinks I can somehow sense he's also rotten just by association."
"There's nothing to it, then," Linda says, like they've already talked out the tangled mess that is Wayne's thoughts on Steve Harrington and have reached a conclusion. Well, perhaps Linda already has. She's always been bright, and she's usually right. "You, Wayne Robert Munson, need to apologize to that boy. The guilt and shame's gonna put you into your cups otherwise."
Wayne nods slowly, though he isn't even sure if he agrees or is just acknowledging what she said before he takes a long pull from his bottle before lowering both his arms to rest on the counter as he replies, "You're right as usual, Linda my dear. I just gotta let go of the fact he's Richard Harrington's son and try and see just Steve."
"Damn right. Eddie might be Al's by birth, but you raised him and he turned out alright. Maybe Steve got the same treatment. Had his own Wayne around to raise him right."
There might be a bit of truth to that. He's heard enough talk about Steve Harrington over the years to think that. One of his drinking buddies used to be Jim Hopper. He's heard about the amount of parties he'd had to go shut down at the Harrington's house, with no parents to be seen. (Always Jim's biggest gripe back then. "Where's this kids goddamn parents!?) Wayne always assumed their kid just took advantage every time his parents were gone, but maybe it's the opposite. Maybe they were always gone, and Steve had parties to not be alone in his house.
Linda's right. There is nothing to it. He needs to talk to Steve, properly apologize, and go from there.
"It ain't an easy thing, admittin' you might be wrong," Wayne sighs.
Linda reaches across the counter and places a hand on Wayne's arm just below his wrist. Wayne looks up from where he'd ended up staring at his bottle, making eye contact with her. "If your boy is friends with this boy, it's for a reason. Just give him a chance. You are one of the good ones, but even we can have a lapse in judgment now and then. Doesn't make you bad, makes you human."
"Ain't no one perfect but the good Lord," Wayne says and Linda nods in agreement.
"Alright. I'll leave you to your beer and your thoughts for now, but you best keep me updated on your situation. I wanna know how it goes," Linda retracts her hand and heads down the counter to check on the few other people sitting about nursing drinks.
Wayne sits in his thoughts more than he drinks, so by the time he's done with the beer it's warm but that's fine. He will talk to the Harrington kid, but he wants to talk to Eddie first. He owes his nephew that much, and he does recall Eddie saying something to the effect of 'he'll come around' to Steve, and Wayne wants to tell Eddie he'll try.
Also he doesn't want to just corner the boy after he's been somewhat intimidating intentionally. He's going to get Eddie to ask if Steve'll talk to him.
Tumblr media
True to his word, Eddie returns home late the next day. The clock says it's almost 6 when Eddie finally comes through the front door. If he's surprised to see Wayne awake, he doesn't show it. He does work the graveyard shift, and he's got a shift at 10 tonight, usually wakes up two hours before his shift. He'd wanted to make sure he caught Eddie, though, so he's been up since three.
"Eddie, you got a minute?" Wayne says.
"Sure. What's up?" Eddie says as he pulls off his jacket, depositing it on the nearest surface before plopping sideways on the couch so he's facing Wayne.
"I gotta come clean. I overheard some of what you and Steve were talkin' about," Wayne says, because he's a man of his word and he's always been good at doing the hard thing if it also turns out to be the right thing. He's got to be honest with Eddie, so he can be honest with himself. "Heard Harr- Steve talkin' 'bout how he thinks I'm a good person, and his parents aren't."
Eddie's quiet for a moment, blinking owlishly back at him while he thinks. "Oh. Umm. Sorry. I just- I think this is the first time I've heard you say Steve's name."
"Not the part I thought you'd focus on," Wayne huffs a laugh, "but I owe your boy an apology and I was hopin' you could help me make it happen."
"My boy- what is happening," Eddie drops his voice to whisper the question to himself.
"What's happening is I'm doin' the thing I always told you ta do. Taking accountability and fixin' my mistake."
"Oh. Oh!" Eddie narrows his eyes at Wayne, "you've made an ass out of me. All those times I assured Steve you were just being standoffish and you were- what were you doing?"
"Intentionally keepin' the boy at a distance 'cause I thought he was gonna hurt you. I sure as hell ain't been friendly. I been judging him because I knew his parents, thinkin' about how an apple don't fall far from the tree," Wayne stops, giving pause to see if Eddie will speak but he isn't. He's just staring at Wayne like he's a puzzle. "It was brought to my attention that it's mighty unfair to judge someone 'cause of how their parents act."
Eddie's brow furrows and his lips purse. It makes him think of Linda. She'd made the exact same face. "I- Jesus fuck this is weird, but I. I think I'm mad at you. Disappointed."
Eddie doesn't say it with an angry tone, and his face still looks more puzzled than mad, but the sentence feels like a kick to the chest anyway. Eddie and he have never been mad at each other, not in the eight years Eddie's lived here with him. They've been worried and scared for each other that, or mad at someone or something else that they take out on each other, but never mad at each other.
"You've every right to be."
Eddie stands from the couch, paces down the hallway, and Wayne thinks this might be the end of any conversation tonight, but instead Eddie comes storming back up the hall. "So, what, did you take me in expecting me to be my dad!?"
"No. He mighta contributed to your birth, but we both know that man ain't nurtured you a day in his life."
"Yeah, well, Steve's parents didn't raise him either, so all this has been bullshit! You made Steve think he's, he's broken and a bad person! And," Eddie's eyes are wet and he's angry but also about to cry. Wayne hasn't seen him like this in a long time. Not since the day they learned Al was in prison, fifteen years with a chance for parole if he's on his best behavior. Eddie had been so angry, and sad, and hurt by the news. Eddie's like that now, worked up so much he's repeating himself as he hiccups his words out around the lump in this throat, "And, and you made me help him feel that way! Because I didn't take him serious when he said, said you didn't like him! I thought you were being, being a dad, all fake gruff to intimidate the guy I like but it's- you were- FUCK!"
Wayne lets him yell. He deserves it, and Eddie needs it. Eddie's not saying anything untrue. He takes in what Eddie is yelling at him; Steve's parents didn't raise him, and how Wayne's cold shoulder must have added to whatever else Steve has going on in his life.
"I, I h-held him while he b-bawled into my shirt last night! He, he thinks- and you, you didn't even trust me! T-trust my own j-judgment of, of Steve! I, I need- I can't-" Eddie doesn't finish the sentence. He turns on his heel and storms back down the hall, the slamming of his door finalizing this conversation.
To say that Wayne feels terrible is inadequate. He's hurt his boy, and he's hurt his boy's boy, and he's got no one to blame but himself.
Now he's got two apologies to make.
Tumblr media
I tried to tag as many people as I could remember that expressed interest in a follow up fic. I am SO sorry if I missed you. Please let me know if you want to be tagged in the final part. I will only be tagging people who ask to be tagged going forward 'cause it's a lot of people to remember and my memory is garbage.

I've been reading a lot of fics lately where Steve and Eddie get nightmares and ring each other in the middle of the night for comfort. And I love it but I can't help but wonder what if when Steve rings the trailer post nightmare, it's Wayne who picks up the phone?
It's his day off and he's still keeping to his night shift schedule, so it's 3am and Wayne is watching a movie on quiet, or reading a book he's been meaning to get around to. And then the phone rings.
And as soon as he picks up the phone, a shaky voice calls out quietly "Eddie?"
It's Steve. Eddie's boy. And it's the middle of the night and Wayne knows what a man on the verge of panic sounds like.
Wayne calmly introduces himself and Steve immediately backtracks. It's the middle of the night and he's probably disturbing him, does he have work? I'm sorry Wayne.
But before he can hang up, Wayne calmly tells Steve it's okay. He's alright. And he doesn't want to risk bringing up the panic and the nightmares he knows they both get and risk scaring Steve off- so instead he asks Steve if he wants to hear an embarrassing story about Eddie as a toddler.
And after a pause Steve replies with a quiet and shaky "Yes please." So him and Wayne have a quiet conversation in the middle of the night, Wayne slowly talking Steve down from a nightmare with stories about young Eddie, and folk tales Wayne grew up on. Steve calms down, and hangs up after thanking Wayne softly.
Wayne doesn't say anything, doesn't know if Steve wants him to. He knows Steve tells Eddie when Wayne comes home from work two days later and Eddie greets him with a hug so huge he's almost swept off his feet. He mumbles into Wayne's chest, thanking him for helping Steve for him.
Wayne replies that it was no trouble at all.

Someone asks Eddie if Wayne liked Steve when they started dating and Eddie’s just like, “Yeah, as much as you can like anybody when your first introduction to them is their bare naked ass.”
Steve: That’s not true! We met at the hospital
Eddie: He did see your naked ass though
Steve: That’s your fault. Why’d you guys not keep towels in your bathroom?

Steve was pulling his sock out from underneath Eddie's bed when he saw a mysterious looking box underneath labeled: Dangerous! Curious, Steve pulled it out.
Eddie: Wait, Steve, don't!
Steve: Eddie. . .these are a box full of dinosaur toys. . .
Eddie: Yeah. . .
Steve: *eyes shining* I LOVE dinosaurs! My favorite is the triceratops. What's yours? Can we play?
A little while later. . . Wayne had gotten home early, and he knew he was in for it when he saw Steve’s car in the driveway. Eddie and his boyfriend could get a little. . .loud. He winced when he heard roaring coming from Eddie's room. He didn't expect what he heard next.
Steve: You KILLED my trike!
Eddie: And I told you it was an accident. Rexy is old and blind! He can't see where he's going!
Steve: Likely story! That's not even Rexy! That's Rexy's grandson, and he can see perfectly fine! You're just mad because my trike was prettier than your rex!
Eddie: *gasps* You take that back, Steve Harrington!
Wayne: Oh, lord.

Sleepwalkin'

🛌🛌🛌
Eddie stirs at the sound of shuffling footsteps and gets jolted awake as Steve drops face-first onto the bed.
"Mhmph. Where've you been?"
"Sleepwalkin'."
"Do anything fun?"
"I got into bed with Wayne." He mumbles into the pillow.
"Wait. What?!" Eddie sits up with a crazed grin, suddenly wide awake, "Steve, sweetheart, that's fucking hilarious."
"Yeah, Wayne thought so too," He rolls onto his side to face Eddie," I, on the other hand, am slightly mortified."
"Baby, I'm sorry but that is actually so funny. What did he say when he woke you up?"
"That's the thing! He didn't! So I obviously woke him up when I, y'know crawled into his bed and cuddled up to him-"
"You cuddled him?! Stevie, be careful, that's the most action he's gotten in years, he's gonna fall in love with you!"
"Fuck off," He reaches across to slap Eddie's shoulder, "Anyway, he just left me to sleep! I woke up to him snoring with his arm around me, and I was so fucking confused."
"How long were you there? I woke up earlier and you were gone but I just thought you were in the bathroom or something. Didn’t realise you’d deserted me."
"Probably like half the fucking night. I went back to sleep after I’d woken up because his bed’s comfier than yours. I only came back in because he went to work and I got cold."
"Is a bed warmer all I am to you, Stevie?" Eddie pouted, "I thought you loved me for my wit and charm and dashingly good looks, not because I keep you toasty."
"I love you for many reasons, including how warm you run, but if you don't like it," Steve shrugged, "I guess I'll have to go to Wayne next time I'm cold. I'm sure he'll warm me up."
"Please don't leave me for my Uncle."
"Well, you better give me a good reason to stay then."
"Nobody can go down on you as well as I can."
"Oh really? Might have to let you prove that you’re the best then."
Eddie just smirks as he slides down the bed.
Wayne’s just gotten home from work when Eddie clears his throat and nudges Steve in the ribs.
"Stevie. Don’t you have something to say to Wayne?"
"Huh? Oh, right," Steve looks at Wayne as sincerely as he can possibly manage right now, "I’m so sorry, Wayne, but we were fools to think it’d work out between us. I’ll never forget our wonderful night together though."
"Well shucks, son, you’re breakin’ my dang heart here but I guess I just gotta move on," Wayne gives Steve a wink, "You know where to find me if you change ya mind."

Their first Christmas together Eddie expects he and Steve to have the Great Unspoken American Socioeconomic Class Christmas Debate:
White lights vs colored lights
And he is prepared to die on the hill of rainbow lights, (though generously prepared to concede no tinsel or garland if Steve insists). Except Steve is 100% on board for rainbow lights, tinsel, handmade ornaments, whatever Munson Christmas tradition calls for. And Eddie and Wayne are appalled to learn that Steve actually never decorated a tree before because his mother always hired a professional to make sure everything looked perfect. But if you ask Steve, this is the most perfect tree he’s ever had.

after they get Eddie to the hospital just in time to save him from the bat bites he actually ends up in a coma for a little bit (him and Max bond over that once they’re both fully recovered because of course they’ll be fine what you talking about) and OBVIOUSLY king Uncle Wayne rushes over to the hospital once this random Wheeler girl tells him that’s where Eddie is and he sits with him and that’s how Wayne meets the most random collection of people ever
Steve Harrington (who Wayne almost refuses to believe is related to Richard because this kid is nothing like his parents) and Dustin Henderson stay practically glued to Eddie’s side, random kids that are apparently in Hellfire and some that aren’t drift in between Eddie’s room and the Mayfield girl’s across the hall, some kids from Eddie’s year (this current one) also come in to join Steve and even the undead Police Chief (??!) and his band of merry men occasionally pop in even though Wayne is pretty sure Hopper is the only one who has ever met Eddie and the less said about that the better
but goddammit Wayne likes them all, firstly because they saved his boy but once he’d started to chat to them it was impossible to dislike them, he’s especially partial to Steve, who he can chat to about sports which he’s never been able to really do with Eddie and maybe it’s because he’s spent the most time with him one on one, Robin because he recognises something in her (and maybe Steve but he isn’t sure) that he sees and knows is in Eddie, Dustin for obvious reason and little Erica Sinclair has wedged her way into a soft spot after she verbally tore into a nurse who seemed to believe the allegations even after they were cleared
Eddie wakes up to Wayne and Steve quietly chatting and he’s beyond confused to see them sat together but he’s grateful to not be alone, he clings to each of their hands, anchoring himself before he slips back into sleep and happy that the man who may as well be his dad hasn’t abandoned him
once he wakes up on one of those first few days and his Uncle had been there when he fell asleep but now he’s not but he is surrounded by pretty much the entire Hawkins gang, he slurs out a ‘wher’s Ucl Wyn’ and Erica looks him directly in the eye and says ‘OUR Uncle Wayne has gone to get some coffee with Steve’ and the others just nod and it seems that alongside Eddie they’ve also adopted his Uncle Wayne into their weird little cult, Eddie falls back asleep with a content little smile on his face as Erica grips his hand in her small one

Steve tears up the first time uncle wayne calls him “son” and when Eddie notices Steve is struggling to hide how emotional he is, Eddie jokingly says “so does that make us cousins?” and that results in Eddie seeing his favorite smile in the world and hearing his favorite soft laugh that’s better than any music he could ever hear.
