So one of my favorite things is when characters just get randomly teleported places (generally a villain that has people they know and wants entertainment) so imagine that Empire people and Rebellion people looking for Thrawn are together and he gets teleported there and it’s just like
Pelleon: Sir! We’ve been looking for you, the empire is at your command!
Thrawn: *looks down at the CDEF admiral uniform he’s wearing* …okay. Sabine: where’s. Ezra. Thrawn: ah miss Wren, nice to see you. Have you still been creating art?
Ashoka: Answer her question.
Thrawn: I do not keep track of him at all times, but if I had to guess he is with my husband, sister, and probably my daughter since they are working to make better training programs for force-sensitive children in the ascendancy.

So Tuesday I was thinking about Chiss naming traditions and I'm like realistically what is Che'ri's name post-Skywalker career. I feel like there's a 75% chance she chooses Mitth and 20% chance she chooses Ufsa for Thrawn and Thalias or Samakro(And possibly Thalias marrying into the Ufsa family-Salias(?)).
Mitth'ch'eri or Thcher or Thcheri. Or. Ufsa'ch'eri or Sacher or Sacheri
I like the idea of her keeping the i like Samakro keeps the full last third of his name but stars know those names are ugly af in English. Probably works in Chuench. Typical Tzahn. I like Sacheri better though so a legit reason to ship Thaliamakro. It’s interesting to see the options laid out and deep down I could see Thurfian blocking Che’ri request to be adopted into the Mitth so-food for though.
Ideas of what Eli would know Che’ri as.
For Vah’nya-I could see her resisting everything about being adopted into a family. She doesn’t want to lose her name. It’s been hers for almost 20 years, a good ten years longer than she ever expected. Those extra ten years allowed her to go from Vah’nya the skywalker to Vah’nya the young woman. The Steadfast is her home, she’s become a second caretaker to the younger girls. She’s a member of the crew. She’ll fight for her crew. But she doesn’t trust their family politics. Not in the slightest. And Ar’alani has proven that she don’t need family name. (Ar’alani is the best role model Vah’nya could ever dream of)
And the only family she needs are Eli and Un’hee. She wants Vanto. Eli hums it, in Basic. Vah’nya Vanto. The Aristroca realizes that she’s not leaving the Steadfast-but insists she still be “adopted.” Personally I think Clarr sounds good for her so let’s work with Clarr. Un’hee follows her, of course. She’s the same way-wants Vanto as her last name but cause Eli is her dad. He’s the one who was there through her trauma and nightmares and her safety and if her mom doesn’t even want a Chiss family name then she doesn’t either(she declares this at ten and they laugh softly but fear that the Aristroca might have the power to forcibly take her from them one day. Assuming she’s normal and underaged when she loses her sight.)
Clarr’vah’nya or Rvanhya and Clarr’un’hee or Runhee
Rvanhya doesn’t work as well on paper on paper as it did in my mind but it works. Runhee is great though. This is an interesting exercise to go through. Little stuff like this paints the post books world a bit clearer. It also gets me thinking about like views on ruling familings from skywalkers, especially Vah’nya, who kept her job so much longer.

Day 12 is up. More POV outsider, this time with Enoch and Pellaeon (who have this little rivalry to be Thrawn’s top dog) + yet another force sensitive climbing around in the ship’s ductwork.

for the ask game!!
Iunh - 19. If your oc were to be arrested for something, what would it be for? For being too kind, for a legitimate crime?
Isocel - 11. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to your oc?  Do they still feel ashamed for it? Were there any witnesses?
Idsvey - 4. How does your oc fare in the dark? Are they scared? Do they trip over things really easily or navigate like they have night vision? (Or do they have night vision?)
for any/all of them: 33. How does your oc’s own perception of themselves compare to how other people see them? Is your oc aware that other people see them differently (if it’s different)?
Iunh: Although she’s still only a teenager, Iunh’s status as a former fleet navigator complicates the rights she would be due as a citizen. This status protects her from certain legal concerns, but the same can’t be said for others that she cares for. After being betrayed by her birth family at such a young age, one of Iunh’s greatest fears is that any slip-up in this age of military paranoia and civil unrest, however minor, could be used to separate her from or punish her new family.
Isocel: When she was younger, Isocel’s most embarrassing memory was of biting her adoptive father’s hand during the rescue operation when they first met. Currently this has been eclipsed by an incident in which her older sister very proudly showed off the anthropomorphic animal self-portrait Isocel had drawn and displayed on the cold-storage box to her visiting classmates. Of course, Isocel is a tweenager and will likely settle on a more embarrassing memory within the next quarter-cycle.
Idsvey: Being Chiss, Idsvey’s definition of “dark” is a little different from other species due to her vision ranging into the infrared end of the light spectrum. Still, she prefers to sleep with a night-light on, and her sisters don’t mind. She’s still little, after all, so being afraid of the dark is to be expected.
All three girls have perceptions of themselves that differ from what the people around them see. Iunh believes that she’s extremely mature, and she is, but the adults around her also recognize that she’s still very much a child even if she had to grow up a little too fast. Iscoel is self-conscious and considers herself unbearably awkward, but the people who know her truly enjoy her company and insights. Out of all of them, Idsvey is probably the least concerned with what others think of her, but even at her young age she’s had to deal with others making assumptions about her (with the major example being her own gender, which she asserted as soon as she had the vocabulary to do so). Being former navigators, balanced between the domains of military and civilian life, there are definitely some differences between the sisters and other children their respective ages; in spite of this, adults in their lives (like their father, aunt, and the crew of the ship they live on) are working hard to help them feel connected to their peers and the many worlds around them, even if those adults also experience a disconnect themselves.

my contribution to the collective meltdown/copium pile is this:
ezra is actually working with the ascendancy on getting thrawn back from whatever he thinks he’s doing
by ascendancy i mean Eli, Ar’alani, Vah’nya and maybe Un’hee, with Thalias and Samakro running background support. hell, throw Borika in as well if you want to
Ezra and Thrawn actually learned to respect each other while they were stranded by the space whales
it’s why he hasn’t returned to lothal yet
thrawn has some twisted reasoning as to why he’s back working with the imperial remnant, like he must atone for something or his mission was not completed and the man is bullheaded single minded stubborn and must be stopped because he is incapable of stopping for himself
team chiss meets up with team ghost at some point and they exchange ideas sort things out manage to extract thrawn from the remnant and make him finally see the light
the real big bad was rae sloane all along bc that woman deserves to gaslight gatekeep girlboss to her heart’s content in live action as well. live action imperial remnant brass is looking testosterone poisoned currently
thranto is canon and so is ezrah’nya and kalluzeb. let’s give sabine a girlfriend too while we’re at it

One More Step
Eli is different. He’s physically different, of course—dull, brown eyes, short. But there is also something different about him. He counts. Un’hee isn’t certain if anyone else notices, but he tallies things all day, every day. When he is lost in his thoughts he counts under his breath, other times, he keeps touching his fingers against his thumb, but most of the time she can see it in the way his eyes dart from side to side.
“Why do you do that?” she asks one day, mid-count of steps from his room to the bridge. She’s technically not supposed to be there, in his quarters. But she is just helping identify weak points in the shipwide ventilation system. She is doing her duty, much to the dismay of her momish and the admiral, she is certain. Besides, she feels safer walking with him.
“Do what?” he asks.
“Count?”
“Oh,” he says, his face lighting up like her nightlight. “It just kind of happens.”

Please, share your recommendation of Thranto children fic 🙏🏻♥️
There are so many but these are just some of my favourites.
The Egg Situation - This one is a fun little one where Eli is the pregnant one and the baby OC’s are adorable.
The Secret - I am a sucker for fics where Thrawn hides his pregnacy or pretends it isn’t happening. (Denial is a really good one for this too)
Belonging - This is a really sweet series, the perfect combo of fluff and feelings. I love Thrawn and Eli as Un’hee’s parents. (I think @amukmuks Thrantovember 2022 takes place in the same universe too)
In Our Bed - Honestly @reythemandalors entire Ao3 is a gold mine for this sort of content 😍 but this series is one of my favourites. Fluffy and spicy, but also has some interesting discussion about pregnancy and parenthood and it’s really fun to see those through the Thranto lense.
If anyone else has any recommendations or fics that they love, please please please add them to this list and share the love. We get to read this amazing content for free so let’s pay these writers some love and affection.

What I want, what I wanted, but I know I’ll never get and the words “heir to the empire” have only cemented this as 100% not happening anymore
(fair warning that this is directly pulling from details from the Thrawn and Thrawn Ascendency books)
Ezra, furious and hurt and just barely eighteen makes the purgill attack the chimaera, makes them grab and break and pull it into hyperspace, makes them disappear into Wild Space. They crash into an unknown planet far from the know galaxy. Luckily, it’s habitable for humans, and slowly the surviving Chimaera crew wakes up, as do Thrawn and Ezra.
Stuck with nowhere to go, Ezra begrudgingly has to cooperate with the crew. Thrawn is furious with him, but practical (with a little bit of help from bridge crew to calm him down), and they don’t even like, jail Ezra. This is wildly confusing to Ezra, but in a good way, but he knows that even with the weird free trust he’s being given he still has to stay with them because no matter how good a Jedi, he can’t live on a completely unknown planet alone, let alone get off it without at least using the crash salvage
Slowly, Ezra begins to vaguely trust some of the chimaera crew. Not Thrawn, he’s still so suspicious of him, why is he doing this, why does he seem… so different than Ezra is used to? And he can’t forget how thunderously angry Thrawn during their first interaction after the crash. He’s calm now, but he was so angry. Why? When will it come back??
Eventually, things change. For a while there’s weird, rebuilding and building a new life vaguely, looking at if the bits of the chimaera can be salvaged to contact someone (but also knowing that none of the stars are familiar, they are so far from knowledge, who would they even manage to contact in this area?).
But the surviving chimaera crew ends up splitting, imperial loyalists finally having enough of the casual disregard for regulations and punishment Thrawn et al have been showing in regards to Ezra, as well as just… generally getting fed up and sick of listening to Thrawn et al when they’re letting Ezra be chill.
Unfortunately, the Thrawn loyalists (aka, the people on Ezra’s side) end up outnumbered because it’s hard to compare “previous loyalty to a man who literally is letting the guy who got you stuck here roam free and even asking for his help with shit and this guy is also an alien and the vast majority of imperials are xenophobic even if they’d grown to respect him it’s hard not to fall back given the extra hating circumstances” to “I am stuck on a completely unknown planet and it’s literally their fault”. This all leads to a split in factions of survivors, with Thrawn and loyalists being essentially run out of camp lest they be killed, and Ezra stuck going with them because somehow (it’s still baffling to him) this is the group that wants him dead the least.
In a far, far locale, skywalker Un’hee begins, pretty immediately after the battle of Lothal, to be plagued with dreams. Not all bad, most just kinda weird, but soon she starts seeing scenes of war and destruction and scenes of crash and desperate survival on an unfamiliar planet. The whole thing from start to finish is weird for her because it’s mostly humans, and some other aliens she’s never seen before, so how are they in her head? But when the worse dreams start, and then get worse, and then when she finally gets the crash landing dreams that are filled with a deep sense of “come help us come find us you’re the only one who can find us”, she ends up talking (crying) to Eli about it.
And he’s like. Ummmm. That sounds sus. I am… concerned. Because when she describes it, he knows she’s talking about humans. And it even sounds like empire humans. And maybe even his imperial colleagues. Who Un’hee really shouldn’t know???
So they go talk to Ar’alani, who promptly goes OH FUCK ME SIDEWAYS WITH A FRUIT STICK and calls up Thalias, Che’ri, and Samakro (of whom Samakro definitely should have his name changed, and Che’ri almost certainly too).
Between the 6 of them and Vah’nya, with talks with Ba’kif and the rest of the CDF and CEDF, they end up sending a small search party for Thrawn et al. Un’hee and Eli for sure, possibly other big names, possibly minor support characters (like crew for a ship Eli gets out in charge of) or possibly literally just Eli and Un’hee. The ascendancy did, after all, kick Thrawn out. And they are, after all, relying on a 9 year old’s visions. And even though it’s happened before, that’s really dubious ground to stand on for committing resources to, especially when shit is dangerously close to hitting the fan in the ascendency itself then as well.
Cue lots of space adventures for both parties, as Eli’s party travels from the Unknown Regions to wherever the fuck Thrawn+Ezra’s ended up, dodging plenty of people against the chiss and probably some people with history with Eli (he’s not… really a friend to the empire anymore lmao), Eli trying to keep Un’hee safe and hidden, Un’hee trying desperately to follow her visions to the right places, and meanwhile the looming threat of the grysks hangs in the back of their mind that they really need to get back, they really need to bring Thrawn back, etc.
Thrawn and Ezra’s party on the other hand are basically in the show Manhunter: Lethal Space Edition. They’re trying to survive on the unknown world with the small amount of supplies they were able to snag on their way out, knowing that the planet also holds the hostile rest of the star destroyer’s crew, and knowing they have no way off and away except by finding and fixing/smashing together chimaera crash salvage. Maybe they get off the planet before Un’hee finds them, and they have their own road trip adventures too, maybe Un’hee and Eli find them there, doesn’t matter.
The two groups eventually meet, and things begin to come to a boil. The grysks have had all this time to make moves on the Ascendancy, and they might even be setting up in the Empire too now, if they’ve decided it’s worth it. Something dramatic probably has to happen to convince Ezra he’s needed there more than back in the Empire (tho the kid getting visions of his past and present is probably also a big factor, as is the “child girls are actively being kidnapped and held in forced labour for a species/legion/whatever hellbent on quiet takeover of everything ever in existence anywhere”) also, he’s been living on the “run” with Thrawn and co. for months now, and likely they’ve talked and come to some amount of understanding, especially re: previous actions done to each other and each other’s friends and family and factions.
The combined group heads back to the Ascendancy (possibly dropping off some Thrawn loyalists at other locales if they aren’t fully committed to going to help the ascendancy, but that all depends on the size of the Thrawn+Ezra group in the first place), and they have to deal with the grysks and likely a large amount of very very very bad problems that have occurred since Eli and Un’hee left. This (in additional to whatever amount of time it took for the two groups to meet in the first place, which itself could be like, a whole year) takes up the 4-5 years between Death Star and Rebels epilogue/Ahsoka show. Explaining why Ezra hadn’t come back yet by the epilogue time, because he’s busy fighting the grysks and helping the skywalkers and etc.

WIP bit 12
The big ship moves for her.
It’s called an ai-ess-di, and ‘her’ name is Kimera. Un’hee loves her very much, so big and safe despite all she’s endured. Her station’s between Ag’ral and Bar’lin, and she moves the big ship for Thrawn’s people. They let her stay on the bridge when they are fighting... no... in battle and Eli stands by her station when Pyrondi looses Kimera’s fire.
Thrawn paces the command deck or sits in the big chair - for some reason called the ‘hot seat’ by Com’dore Pellaeon - and the Grysk die. The Grysk allies die. And sometimes, just sometimes, they can save the navigators. They always try. Sometimes they manage it. Un’hee grieves when they can’t, and sometimes she grieves even when they can. She understands what it’s like to be so very broken, but also what it’s like to heal.

Thrawn and ar’Alani (you’re going to tell me these two aren’t shagging in dark-hideaways all through her command ship?? Whatev’s—only the purposely denying can’t see this. Zahn writes a smile onto Thrawn’s face. That never happens. Except Ziara/Ar’alani. Maybe Thalias, too—I can buy that…). But these two are OTPs all the way…
“…Why don’t you come to the Irizi homestead with me?”
“To your *homestead* [to meet the parents???]?” Thrawn echoed. “Are strangers even allowed?” A muscle in his check twitched. “Especially strangers from rival families?”
“I don’t know and I don’t care,” Ziara said. “I am blood and I am an honored member of the fleet who just helped save eight-thousand lives. I don’t know how far all of that will take me, but I’d rather like to find out. You game to find out with me?“
“I don’t know, “Thrawn said hesitantly “I don’t want you to get in trouble on my behalf.“
“I’m not worried about it,” Ziara said. “Did I mention that my grandfather was an amazingly passionate art collector?”
Thrawn smiled. “If I haven’t mentioned it recently, Ziara, you have a knack for seeking out and exploiting your opponents’ weaknesses. Very well. Shall we once again charge headlong into danger?”
“We shall,” Zara said. “Besides, we just survived an encounter with a malicious gas giant planet. Really, how bad could my family be?“
Excerpt from ‘Thrawn: Chaos Rising’…
—so, even in my non-canon AU spoof SpaceRockOpera crossover of StarWars/TTT, Firefly-Serenity/and the Keltiad, my OFC, after she and Thrawn have their wicked way with each other (enemies to friends dynamic…), she points him back to Ziara. —I’ve toyed with, and am warming to part of my AU narrative arc, having Ar’alani and Thrawn completely professional and never pursuing intimacy in the years they served the Defense Fleet together. And in the night before he’s enters exile, with no more consequences compromising career paths, they consummate their affection. And 7-10 years later, we’re discovering Un’hee, who’d been taken away from Ziara once her psionic navigating abilities had been discovered. Then, as part of Blue Sun Corp’s research with enhanced super-soldiers like River Tam with psionic abilities, collaborating with Black Sun Syndicate and the Virathi/Coroniad/Grysk commanding the multiple strands of this stage across a Wormhole and distant parts of the MilkyWay, amid other confrontations, it’s the Firefly crew that rescues Un’hee, whilst River Tam with my OFC (biokinetically gifted Keltoi medic, teaming with Luke Skywalker) following some unholy uses of an ancient bioquantum-valent protogenome that enables real time mutagenesis and tissue regeneration (in hybrid Reaver-clones…Vong-V-V-V-Vong…we see where this is going, but no reborn Palpatine and it’s NOT called Project Necromancer…), and reunites Un’hee with her mother. And, with Thrawn back in the picture advancing the interests of The Empire of the Hand, with Ziara leading the Chiss branch of military/space fleet, leaving Thrawn to put 2 and 2 together. Recalling that baby-making sex (as it’s termed when it’s a rollicking—swooning-no-blood-left-brain kind’a sex…) night from a decade before…
—anyone game for writing this plot-bunny? Does anyone even know what the Keltiad is (of the 5 folks who actually know that fandom on this hell-site—and if you do, tell me it wouldn’t make an awesome crossover concept merged with the Firefly and Star Wars aesthetic😜)…
