#umbreon and eevee bonding
how about eevee? I always felt like eevee and it's evolutions would make pretty popular pets!
Tumblr media
Eevee would indeed make an excellent pet! And, I’d reckon, you’re probably right about them being popular ones too!
As far as looks go, eevees are perfect pet candidates: they’re lightweight, tiny, and fluffy! They may not be the best choice for people with pet hair allergies, since they look like they’re much more long a long-haired cat than anything when it comes to their coat. Ooooh, but I bet they’re soft! They are occasionally used as first partner pokémon for trainers in the Kanto Region, so we know that they are friendly and receptive to training, which is always a plus!
Unfortunately, we actually don’t have very much information about the behavior of wild eevees. This is a rare species (Yellow) that is rather rare to come across in most regions. Eevees are exceptionally adaptable, so it’s unlikely that they are endangered: rather, when faced with a new or harsh environment, eevees evolve to meet their new survival needs rather than remaining in this more vulnerable state (Gold, Silver). Pretty much all of the pokédex data we have about eevees is focused on this unique ability. This species’ genetic code is highly irregular, which allows them to mutate in a wide variety of ways to keep up with environmental and contextual changes (Red/Blue).
Eevees can evolve into an unprecedented eight other pokémon species, which each have different types and abilities to cope with different environments. These evolutions are most often triggered by radiation from special Evolution stones (Red/Blue) or unique area-specific conditions, but there are a few evolutions (namely espeon, umbreon, and sylveon) that are triggered by forming strong bonds with trainers and gaining experience under certain conditions. Keep in mind, when adopting an eevee, that it is really easy to trigger one of these evolutions by accident if your eevee isn’t given an Everstone!
Eevees can adapt their bodies to their environment without evolving as well. For example, it’s said that after spending a lot of time with a trainer, and eevee’s face will start to look more like theirs as an instinctually survival instinct (Ultra Moon). This could be really creepy or charming, depending on what that ends up being like. I personally have a hard time imagining what an eevee that “looks like me” would look like.
Since, when faced with dangerous or harsh environments, eevees tend to evolve both their bodies and capabilities, this species is not capable of causing much harm. Eevees mostly use normal-type moves that, considering their size, aren’t going to do much to you. Eevees aren’t particularly violent by nature, so they likely won’t ever be a threat unless accidentally evolved into a more powerful species.
Overall, this rare pokémon seems like they would be a model pet. So long as you avoid unwanted accidental evolutions with an Everstone, an eevee would be the perfect size and temperament to be a pet! They’re super sweet, and not dangerous by any means, so they’d be a great fit in most homes!

more pkmn x danny phantom stuff because i have lost control of my life
also for anyone interested in AU ramblings, please enjoy the literal essay i wrote under the cut lol
THE PREMISE:
AU where pokemon exist in the DP canon. Universes are merged, so Amity Park exists alongside Kanto/Unova/etc in their respective real world locations.
Danny’s parents research/hunt dp-verse ghosts AND ghost pokemon. Their research is focused on the ghosts of once-living creatures, and also identifying the difference between “dead” and “living” ghosts. ex. A Yamask can be born from an egg, which means it never died, but it can also be the spirit of a dead person.
While the Fentons aren’t actively trying to exterminate every ghastly or duskull, they still have some serious prejudices against ghost types, and they DEFINITELY hate dp-verse ghosts as much as in canon.
The portal accident happens normally. Danny was due to get his first pokemon around the start of freshman year, but the accident (and his now spiraling school grades) put it on hold.
Instead, Phantom is exploring the ghost zone one day and passes by a Hisuian Zorua. Danny doesn’t think much of it, but the Zorua follows him home and quickly causes trouble. It seems to have a nasty grudge against humans, playing dangerous pranks against Amity Park’s residents and forcing Danny to send it back into the zone. After several return trips, it settles down and decides that it’s more interested in this not-entirely-living-or-dead kid than getting revenge. After that decision, Zorua quickly becomes Danny’s partner.
Since Zorua are inherently timid creatures and a Hisuian variant would attract a lot of attention (not to mention Jack and Maddie’s possible reaction), Zorua is almost always disguised as something other than its true form. Seeing a Unovan Zorua on Danny’s shoulder is common, as are Rowlet and Hoothoot. No one’s really sure where Danny caught them all, but they don’t care enough to ask.
Phantom, on the other hand, can be seen at night playing with a ghostly variant of Zorua previously thought to be extinct.
PKMN TEAMS:
danny:
hisuian zorua (discussed above)
absol (stalks him for a year because Danny is a Walking Disaster and triggers all of absol’s danger senses. maybe it tried to prevent the portal accident and failed?)
jazz:
eevee (lots of potential, connections to mutations/~molecules getting all rearranged~)
parents were pushing for eevee to evolve into umbreon, but………
sam:
bulbasaur (grass type, connection to “save the frogs” episode)
shiny purrloin (technically the family pet, but is fond of sam)
tucker:
helioptile (generates electricity, connections to desert and ”hotep ra” episode)
rotom (initially a pest who possesses his tech, later forms a rotom phone relationship)
maddie:
weavile (intelligent, vicious hunter. has hands to help out in the lab)
houndoom (hunter, pack animal, loyal)
jack:
slaking (lazy and unassuming but very powerful. has hands to help out in the lab)
porygon2 maybe? (gift from vlad with the intention of hacking their systems)
^^^ weavile and slaking are maddie and jack’s starters. houndoom and porygon2 are bonded to the whole fenton family rather than one particular person.
vlad:
crobat (vampiric, requires friendship- aka vlad isn’t completely evil)
skitty (nicknamed maddie)
noivern (vampiric, violent and cruel but can be tamed. maybe it bonds to Danny and defects?)
hydreigon (destructive and overwhelmingly powerful)
shiny charizard
also probably like a dozen dreepy/dragapult
^^^ most of vlad’s pokemon are just displays of wealth and power. he hasn’t seriously bonded with any of them except for crobat, his starter, and skitty, his “sister’s cat”.
also a note that im not necessarily choosing pkmn that perfectly match a character’s theme or aesthetics, but instead ones that are realistic for them to have in this universe!
WORLDBUILDING NOTES:
Starter pokemon are gifted by the child’s parents. Traditional starters like charmander/bulbasaur/squirtle are only available to those sponsored by a prominent pkmn lab and/or rich parents.
Having a full team is rare unless you’re a full time trainer… it’s just too expensive to house and feed them. On a similar note, shinies are basically unheard of unless you’re stupidly rich.
Pokemon journeys are still considered a rite of passage, but aren’t a universal experience. Not everyone participates, and those who do usually only get 1-2 badges before quitting. The average age for new trainers is around 13-16, though legally you can start at 10.
Amity Park is a ghostly hot spot just like Kanto’s lavender town. There are a few gravesites, but not nearly enough to justify the amount of activity it receives.
The ghost zone primarily contains “dead” ghosts, but “living” ghost pkmn are attuned to the zone and use natural portals to traverse the world.
The Fenton family’s pokemon are all either dark or normal type, for type effectiveness and immunity against ghosts respectively. Any pokemon they give to their children will follow the same type theme in the hopes that they will join the ghost hunting business.
Danny:
was very excited to start his pkmn journey, but with his new ghost instincts demanding he protect Amity Park, he can’t see it happening anymore. Also, while Zorua gradually grows more confident and helps Danny with ghost fights, it still hates having human attention drawn to it and wouldn’t enjoy the publicity of gym battling.
is friends with loads of ghost pkmn, but he never officially catches any besides zorua. They’re residents of his haunt, not his teammates.
if the accident didn’t happen, his starter would either be hoothoot (because of spooky from the initial show concept) or a common dog like poochyena or lillipup… the Fentons spent all their money getting jazz a fancy eevee so Danny’s starter wouldn’t be nearly as impressive :’) rowlet would only be a possibility if gifted from Vlad, though Danny’s parents wouldn’t approve as it evolves into a ghost type.
Sam:
is very anti-battling at first. She felt that battling was abusive and was probably very loud and in your face about it lol. However, Bulbasaur loves to battle and wants to use it as a way to get stronger and evolve, so after a messy disagreement, Sam begins to see it in a healthier light. She still advocates for better pkmn rights, but is careful not to speak over those she’s defending.
would probably join team Aqua, Magma, or Plasma for at least half a day before realizing theyre evil lolol. (then she’d work with Danny and Tucker to defeat them on the exact same day)
Bulbasaur has a lengthy pedigree and comes from a line of contest winners. Neither it nor Sam have any interest in continuing that tradition though.
is the most likely person in the DP cast to become the champion.
Tucker:
is neutral on gym battling. He thinks the concept is cool and likes watching the championships on TV, but is way too much work to actually participate in. His pokemon feel the same and are happy just helping with his electronics.
is obsessed with Silph Co technology rather than new PDAs. He’s always buying their newest gadgets, even if he doesn’t have a proper use for them.
babies the hell out of his pokemon. helioptile is his little angel who can do no wrong and he’s always shielding it from dangerous situations (which becomes a bit of an issue as ghost fights increase in frequency.) With rotom, hes always double checking that its comfortable in his phone, if it wants to possess anything else, if he should upgrade its appliances, etc etc.
Jazz:
never went on a pokemon journey. She thought it was a waste of time since she didn’t want to become a trainer anyway. However, ghost hunting helps Jazz discover her own love of battling, so now she kinda regrets it.
eevee eventually evolves into sylveon. Its prehensile ribbons help Jazz multitask and its empathetic nature assists Jazz with psychology. Also it can scare away Vlad’s dragons lolol. Maybe it evolves in the middle of a fight against him?
if she gets any other teammates, it should reflect her desire to keep Danny safe. Maybe a honedge? usually Danny’s the one with a sword in fanon, but i think jazz deserves one too!!!

Joker Out as Eeveelutions (Pokémon)
Bojan as Eevee
"It's ability to evolve into many forms allows it to adapt smoothly and perfectly to any environment."
- I know we joke a lot about how he can do anything, but this is literally an explanation for that ^
- smallest of them all
- also the cutest
- fluffy brown hair and brown puppy eyes
- I feel like the normal type gets overlooked a lot but it can be quite useful
- abilities: run away from your finnish lover and homosexual feelings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kris as Espeon
" It evolves from Eevee when leveled up with high friendship during the day." (0:19)
- Kris needed Bojan to evolve into his full form ^ (Bokris agenda is high in this household)
- I associate pink with him
- both of them just stare into your soul
- model face and slay pose
- they both look like elegant bitches with their long limbs and juicy asses
- ability: synchronize *if the Pokémon is hurt, the responsable Pokémon will be inflicted with the same status condition* I just feels like that's something Kris would do. If someone's e. g. mean to him, I think he would give them the same treatment
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jan as Umbreon
"When exposed to the moons aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and it gains a mysterious power."
- Jan's just overall the dark kinda vibe
- needs high friendship level to evolve as well but at night (0:20)
- blue lights elevate him in my eyes (Shiny Umbreon has blue rings instead of yellow ones, which I like a tad bit more)
- Umbreon seems like someone who would look sexy while smoking
- gay vibes
- feel like they both really need time to get comfortable with people but when they do, their bond becomes inseparable (X)
- also Umbreon and Espeon are counterparts of each other, both from the same gen, Kris and Jan being the guitarists of the band (yes that is the same thing in this case) and they're both so mysterious on their own way
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nace as Leafeon
"When you see Leafeon asleep in a patch of sunshine, you’ll know it is using photosynthesis to produce clean air."
- photosynthesis as a metaphor that he's capable (and essential) to help his friends when they're in need (Bojan's panic attack)
- they both give chill vibes
- lovely, nice and pretty
- Pokédex is claiming that Leafeon smells so good, it's scent is also sold as a perfume (Nace looks like he smells really good)
- it isn't really a happy fighter, but it WILL fight for its friends <3
- also: "Leafeon is very proud of being able to split tree trunks itself." is so Nace-Dad coded lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jure as Jolteon
"It concentrates the weak electric charges emitted by its cells and launches wicked lightning bolts."
- the hair
- Jure always seems like he's buzzing with energy
- Jolteon would be the drummer in a band
- weakness: ground (7:14)
- Jolteon looks like trouble, and so does Jure

Are eevee actually smart? My friend says they are, but I think his just evolved to be smart. Like, he read books to it every night until it actually turned into an umbreon. What's a NORMAL eevee like
That is not how umbreon evolve. Your friend's eevee likely just really enjoyed the regular bonding activities. It cannot understand the concept of reading or what a book is or what your friend was even saying. It just likes to feel included, like most social pokemon.
Pokemon intelligence is a complicated subject that is difficult to separate from our own biases (as we too are creatures on this planet). Eevee can problem solve and use tools in laboratory settings, but besides specially designed testing equipment I have never personally seen a domestic one figure very much out.
I am sure no small part of it is because of how they are bred. Why waste time on an intelligent (destructive and high maintenance) creature when you could have one that does nothing but sit on your lap all day and look cute? The species as a whole may be capable of these things, but I have doubts about most pets. Still, it is worth investigating. Puzzles are great enrichment even if they can't figure it out.

cant believe i havent seen anyone do this yet but. riptide pokemon au. heres my fucking thoughts
gillion's team is a solid mixture of electric, ice and water types. probably something built for competitive play but i aint that kinda smart so idk. BUT i do know his ace is a gyarados
gil's team was given to him by the elders over the years, and he was trained to be the best pokemon battler of the undersea
despite being told not to, gil is very close with his pokemon. he has a soft spot for all of them and can't Not be empathetic for them. theyre his babies :)
pretzel is a clobbopus. i know theyre not pink but listen. its literally a punching octopus. its also the cutest octopus pokemon LOL
pre-character arc gillion has a one track mind for competition Only. he loves his pokemon but they are also his weapons, in a way
as he spends more time in the oversea he adopts a more relaxed team. theyre still extremely strong and he still has his competitive pokemon but he stops caring about their stats and movepool and starts caring more about their personalities and bonding with them
chip didnt have any pokemon until he joined the black rose, where arlin gifts him an eevee
after the hole in the sea, it's just him and eevee against the world
his eevee refuses to evolve - especially during his time with price's gang, but even afterwards when theyre by themselves on the ocean eevee won't evolve
chip had his heart set on being a water type trainer, like arlin was, so he tries to convince eevee to evolve into a vaporeon. this is a running bit
its also a running bit that the team chip builds are all different types and use different strategies. members of the crew are pokemon btw i think gryffon is a pangoro LOL
his eevee is a little SHIT just in general. has cute privilege and knows it.
when gil is trapped in the dunjon, instead of taking his sword chip starts using his pokemon. he discovers that water types never really were his thing, after all.
its here, where chips at his lowest in a long time, demotivated and thinking of leaving his crew behind, that eevee evolves. into an umbreon - a dark type, but also a friendship evolution.
it evolves to show him that someone does care, that someone does want him around - his oldest friend, his pokemon.
chip learns to use all his pokemon to their greatest ability. i think he would have a bias for fire and dark types, but he becomes a well rounded and skilled pokemon trainer
jayjay! the ferins have a tradition where they breed their corviknights and pass the rookidees down to their kids. family pokemon :)
ava happens to get a shiny rookidee! she gets her rookidee right when she joins the navy and starts working under her father
this rookidee is...very nervous. greyhound energy. it's a shy little thing that has trouble battling and is very attached to ava and her little sister jay
ava takes the time to work through rookidee's issues and try and build it's confidence, jay acting as babysitter when ava is away at sea
at some point, after rookidee evolves into corvisquire, ava never comes home.
this ofc fucks with both jay and corvisquire. it puts corvisquire's training back by a lot and leaves jay grieving and angry
once she leaves with chip, she takes corvisquire with her. its too scared to battle and needs to be on or near her at all times, but it's a piece of her sister jay can't bring herself to leave behind.
jay ends up building a flying/steel type team, with corviknight growing and gaining its confidence as a pirate pokemon rather than a navy pokemon
its still got mega separation anxiety tho. it wears a nervous dog vest LOL
if anyone has anything to add i am all ears i fuckignlove my sillies and i love pokemon so. woe

Any advice on handling mons competing with each other? I'm a trainer with an Espeon and an Umbreon, and they won't stop competing over my attention. They got along great as Eevees, and even when they first evolved they were still pretty close, but as we started participating in higher tier battles they've developed a rivalry I don't don't how to deal with.
Any ideas?
I think the first step should be working with 'em to see if the higher tier battles might be causing additional stress for them, and that even battling in these conditions might be inadvertently rewarding that competitiveness.
I don't know if you're doing Double battles or regular ones, but maybe stepping away from them for a while and focusing on other team-bonding activities (or Double battles if you're not already doing so) might improve their relationship. It's important that they focus on helping each other and work together to get a reward, and one good way to focus on that is cooking together! Depending on your region, Curry and even PokePuff makin' are social activities to make with your team and might soothe tensions a bit. Hope that helps!

What pokemon teams would you give to the Trigun Stampede characters? (Vash, Knives, Wolfwood, Meryl and Roberto)
This seems like something you would like to write about!
And you would be right, dont need to ask me twice to combine Pokemon with literally anything lol
I'll each give them a team of Six, and try to explain it from there! These are for aesthetic purposes, and no way a good team make up lol and of course this got long.
What Pokemon would Vash, Knives, Wolfwood, Meryl and Roberot have?
Tumblr media
Vash: Xerneas, Sylveon, Absol, Breloom, Gogoat, and Lycanroc (Midday form)
Okay if you know me this team is biased as hell lol Lots of parallels to Knives because ya know their like two sides of the same coin.
His first pokemon was Eevee, and it evolved into a Sylveon because he has lots of love to give :)
Xerneas are supposed to represent everlasting life! :)))) I'd imagine Vash is responsible for said pokemon but keeps it hidden.
Absol is known as the disaster pokemon! When one appears a disaster follows after, he probs kept running into the poor thing and adopted it
I like to think Breloom and Gogoat are a pair, and Vash probably has a soft spot for grass pokemon. Breloom is a fighter, and Gogoat is a good way to travel.
Vash deserves a dog, the Midday form is very loyal to its trainer and is a lasting companion!
Knives: Yveltal, Umbreon, Aegislash, Zoroark, Kingambit, and Lycanrock (Midnight form)
The flip side of Xerneas is Yveltal, which absorbs the life of everything around :)) Surely in the hands of Knives nothing can go wrong!
Nai probably received an Eevee as well, his just evolved into an Umbreon
Aegislash and Kingambit are self-explanatory they fit his aesthetic. One is literally a floating sword, and Kingambits are leaders and command other pokemon.
A dog for Knives as well! the Midnight form of Lycanroc is more bloodthirsty than its day counterpart.
Zoroark just seems like an all around good Pokémon for him, it can do his bidding lol
Wolfwood: Silvally, Krookodile, Zebstrika, Darkrai, Banette, Mightyena
:))) Type: Null a pokemon that was experimented on, and has great power! But forced to wear its mask to suppress it :)))) They evolve into Silvally when a solid and unbreakable bond form, just seems like a good pokemon for him! This was probably his first pokemon!
Banette and Darkrai were accidental for sure, Banette's are pokemon with a vengeance and will kill those who wronged them. Darkrai the nightmare pokemon! Seems like it fits the aesthetic of the Punisher.
Straight up I think a Sandile bit him and he couldn't get rid of it lol Krookodile is goofy as hell, he just vibes.
Zebstrika is ill-tempered, but it likes Wolfwood a lot its the equivalent of his motorcycle lol
Deserves a dog as well! And while Mightyena isn't really a wolf, it's close enough.
Meryl: Mareep, Unown, Furret, Pachirisu, Rotom, Bewear
She reminds me of a Mareep I can't explain it lol Probs her first pokemon and can't bring herself to evolve it.
Meryls Bewear will beat the shit out of people, the strongest pokemon on her team it vibes check people lol
Rotom is her camera! Very helpful! She probably picked up Unown from college and felt bad leaving it behind so it just follows her around.
Furret is her comfort pokemon, very soft and huggable, she'd also look so cute with a Pachirisu hanging out on her shoulders.
Roberto: Spinda, Klefki, Polteageist, Toucannon, Fletchling, Persian
He likes to drink found the Spinda outside of a bar and straight up stole it.
Doesnt know how he got Klefki just appeared and he can not get rid of it! Was going to use Polteageist as a flask, turned out to be a pokemon! Who knew? Also can not get rid of it
Fletchling and Persian are actually pokemon he's actually wanted and caught. Fletchling lights his cigarette too lazy to evolve it, Persian is a bitch and is good a threatening people.
Him and Toucannon, have the same vibes. But his Toucannon actually likes to fight and will cut a bitch.

Pokemon AU
Okay continuation of the Pokemon AU.
-Willie and Ziggy the zigzagoon used to work for Caleb, who owned a ghost-type gym. He took Willie in off the streets, made him feel like he could have a place there, made him sign a contract and OOP now he owns you. Listen in a world where people are okay with 10 year olds travelling the globe to become Pokemon Masters, you think the contract law would protect like, a fourteen year old? Nope.
-Willie found Ziggy in the dumpster looking for food and tried to keep him from Caleb, but got caught. Caleb let him keep him, but immediately put Ziggy to work as well, training against his ghost pokemon so they had some 'warm ups'.
-Eventually Willie and Ziggy were sick of Caleb and others kicking their asses so they started training in secret. The first time Ziggy beat one of Caleb's ghosts was... not a great week for them. But then Caleb started training up new Pokemon against Ziggy, until Ziggy was like hella powerful.
-Caleb haaates that Willie won't evolve Ziggy. Ziggy doesn't want to evolve, so Willie refuses.
-Eventually they run very far away, and run into two cute boys, and live happily ever after.
-In this AU, Carrie obviously has only pink pokemon. Her strongest and the one she bonded with most is of course her Sylveon.
-Flynn and Julie also have Eeveelutions. Like, they all got their Eevees together as little girls and trained them together. Julie has an Espeon and Flynn has an Umbreon.
-Flynn and Julie aren't trainers, their Pokemon are basically very spoiled pets that use their powers to help them perform/DJ.

[a message that seems to have been delayed, as it's from adult blackthorn.]
so re: mobility aid mons, i'm curious about a couple of things no pressure or time concern though. the main important one is important for you not me: assuming the applin wanted to become an appletun, would that work well for mobility aid for you or is the sizing off?
how do you even train mons with split evolutions? what if they're partway through the training and decide 'no i'd rather be this other evolution'? i guess for some it's not so big a deal, like an emotional support eevee in theory would be best as espeon or sylveon but would work as any of the evolutions in general i guess? but for applin the evolutions are so different in shape and size, and if you need the eevee to sense electrical pulses then eevee evolving into leafeon wouldn't help anything right?
i dunno exactly how they work, particularly with eevee - i guess some eevee would be genetically predisposed to evolve into particular evolutions but that's purely a guess, but like. i dunno if support beautifly or dustox are a thing either but would you be able to train them as a beautifly/dustox or would they need some training in the wurmple stage? 'cause i doubt silcoon and cascoon would be able to learn too much... though i guess you could give them general training as a wurmple and then diversify once they're outta cocoons........
okay now that you're an adult again-
appletun are only about a foot and a few inches tall, so they are not large enough for a mobility aid. also Cobbler seems more interested in battling than anything else
training mons with split evolutions is interesting, and often they aren't really suited for service work anyways, but in terms of eevee. because of the high amounts of dedication and bond between eevee and trainer that comes with service work and emotional support, usually those eevee will evolve into espeon and sylveon, or occasionally umbreon. the other evolutions are more uncommon.
generally speaking it's hard to train pokemon for things their evolution can do because often they cannot do the things their evolution can do. it's like attempting to teach a wurmple to fly. usually, when you train a pokemon for service work, you are doing so under the assumption that they probably will not evolve. if they do evolve, they often have to go back in for more training.
i hope that answers your questions well?

So ive got an eevee, gotten a everstone pendent collar, and have stuff like bed, food, some toys ect but i admit i dont know a lot about raising one. A breeder friend needed someone to eggsit and this adorable little gray ball of fluff popped out last and kicked up the biggest fuss when he tried to take the babies back so we've agreeded i should probably raise him.
well, to be honest i'm a little concerned your breeder friend hasn't given you a list of what you need or pointed you to some resources...a good breeder always vets their clients and makes sure they know what they're getting into. ideally, no pokemon should ever be a surprise!
eevee are energetic pokemon, and you'll need to make sure that you've eevee-proofed your house. they're both diggers and chewers, and they need a LOT to do to keep them from becoming destructive. be prepared for lots of walks and lots of play! in return, you can generally expect a pokemon that is intelligent and eager to please, and the bond that an eevee forms with its trainer really is special.
if you're not a battler, i think it's a good idea not to actively try to evolve your eevee- but i also don't really recommend an everstone for eevee. eevee are one of the pokemon that are most susceptible to something called evolutionary stasis syndrome. it's a bit of a catchall term for a variety of issues related to the prevention of evolution. most pokemon can go without evolving, but eevee's genetic makeup is so unstable that preventing an eevee from evolving can result in complications ranging from minor behavioral issues to severe problems like anorexia. it's the only reason why i didn't give my umbreon an everstone when she was an eevee, and it's also the reason why i warn eevee owners to be prepared to commit to an eeveelution!
hope everything works out with your lil fluffball! as with any other pokemon, good training and enrichment are the best foundation for a successful partnership. communicate with your vet if you have concerns, enroll in an obedience class if you need help training, and give your new baby lots of snuggles for me!

Hamefura Pokémon AU
This is an idea I have been working for a long while. It was inspired by @dulcito-on-ao3 ‘s fanfic Cute and Fluffy! and @logo-comics Fortune Lover Pokémon DLC prompt.
This crossover is an AU where Fortune Lover was an otome game/pókemon game fusion. Maybe something like Scarlet and Violet where the protagonist goes to the Academy and you can choose one of several storylines to follow. The events of FL 2 could be added to beef up the plot.
Here are some important notes:
Edit: @famousnintendopokemonlamp made a point that it’s odd for Eevee to only bond with mages. I changed that and made it so that they are just rare in the wild.
Edit 2: Switched Sandslash in Keith’s Team for Phanpy since I thought it fitted him better. Added Fidough to Maria’s Team.
Edit 3: Mary’s Tropius is a gift from Alan.
After discussing it with @dulcito-on-ao3 I decided that the setting will be modern but still retaining the noble society elements. Meaning that Sorcier is still a kingdom with nobility but they have access to modern technology like Pokédex’s, Rotom Phones, etc.
The Pokémon take the place of Magical Creatures. Normal animals still exist in this world because I don’t want the implication that humans eat Pokémon.
While Pokémon exist all over this world, they are most common in the Kingdom of Sorcier. Researchers think it’s because Sorcier has more magic than anywhere else so Pokémon are attracted to it - because they are Magical Creatures in this setting.
While magic is still mainly found on nobles, both nobles and commoners can become Pokémon Trainers. But, Pokémon Trained by mages are usually stronger than those Trained by non-mages, especially those Pokémon with typing that are compatible with their Trainer’s magic.
Mages whose Magic Element is compatible to a Pokémon typing can boost the power that Pokémon with their magic.
Eevee is a special Pokémon in Sorcier as they are very rare in the wild, so dedicated breeders exist. Even amongst nobles they are uncommon and are often a regarded as a symbol of great status, especially if they are evolved. The characters who have one are:
Katarina Claes - Shiny Eevee that later evolves into a Shiny Umbreon. Was a gift from her father.
Maria Campbell - regular Eevee that later evolves into an Espeon. By chance she found a wild Eevee and befriended it.
The Princes - Gerald (a small and fluffy Flareon); Alan (a Glaceon): Ian (an Espeon); Geoffrey (a large Vaporeon)
Selena Burke - shy Eevee wearing an Everstone but later gains confidence and evolves into a Sylveon.
Noelia Flores - a Flareon. One of her few evolved Pokémon.
Katarina’s Pokémon know about her past life and support her on her plans to avoid doom.
Katarina remembering her past life is part of a plan that the Legendary Pokémon Ho-oh and Celebi came up with.
Almost all of Katarina’s Pokémon are Shiny. The in-game explanation was to show how privileged and spoiled Villainess Katarina was by having a team consisting of rare Shiny Pokémon.
The Pokémon League equivalent is called The Pokémon Tourney. It was originally exclusive to nobles but for the last 100 years, commoners have been allowed to participate.
Trainers must be at least 15 years old to participate.
To qualify, they need to earn at least eight Honours (aka Badges) by battling against the Arena Champions, the ‘Gym Leaders’ of this setting (Arena Champion comes from Champion/Championne d'Arène, the French term used for Gym Leaders).
The Evil Team is called Team Dark. Members include Marchioness Dieke, Sora (later deserted), and Sarah. Team Dark seeks conquer Sorcier and use Pokémon to rule the world. Most members use Dark Type Pokémon.
This AU is GeoKata endgame, at least with how I’m writing it.
Here are the main Pokémon Teams of the main characters:
Katarina Claes
Shiny Eevee/Shiny Umbreon ♂ (Nickname: Biscuit) - starter/first Pokémon; he evolved into Umbreon after Katarina awakened from her Dark Magic coma.
Shiny Ekans/Shiny Arbok (Nickname: Noodle) - found it injured in her field and nursed to health; represents Katarina’s toy snakes.
Shiny Pumpkaboo/Shiny Gourgeist (Nickname: Pumpkin) - found in the woods near the Royal Villa; represents Katarina’s farming.
Shiny Pawniard/Shiny Bisharp (Nickname: Blue) - gifted by Gerald on her 16th birthday; represents Katarina’s sword fighting.
Poochyena (Nickname: Pochi) - found during the Keith’s Kidnapping equivalent event. This Poochyena has darker fur than a regular Poochyena, being almost black; it is the result of Team Dark’s experiments to empower Dark Type Pokémon; similar to a Shadow Pokémon but without “the door to it’s heart” closed. It represents Katarina’s Dark Magic and canon Pochi.
Absol (Nickname: Vanilla) - found during the equivalent of the mission where Sarah has a Dragon Dark Familiar; represents Katarina’s “knowledge of future events and desire to prevent her doom.
Other Pokémon Katarina has are: Shiny Galarian Yamask found in the ruins used for the practical exam; Shiny Flygon found as a Trapinch during a visit to the Adeth Duchy.
Gerald Stuart
Flareon ♀ (Nickname: Fluffy) - starterfirst Pokémon; smaller and fluffier than the average Flareon, making it extremely cute; knows Scary Face. Represent show Geordo looks like a handsome fairy tale prince but has a hidden, sadistic/scary side.
Bisharp - a knight Pokémon to protect royalty
Aegislash - in reference to Gerald using a sword
Charizard - I thought it would be cool if Gerald rode on this Pokémon.
Litleo - a birthday gift from Katarina; lions are a symbol of royalty
Tyrantrum - another royal Pokémon; red body with golden crest match Gerald's colors
Keith Claes
Tyranitar - starter; originally a Larvitar he befriended before being adopted by the Claes; small Pokémon that grows big and powerful, like how Keith was a timid kid that grew confident
Cottonee - Something small and cute because Keith is so precious
Golurk - a reference to Keith's Earth golems
Garchomp - caught as a Gible during a visit to the Adeth Duchy; a connection with Millidiana who has Dragon-Types
Bonsly/Sudowoodo  - another tiny cutie; it grows tall and lanky and looks like a Grass-Type, referencing how Keith helps Katarina with her farm
Phanpy/Donphan - yet another tiny cutie that grows into a powerful Pokémon
Mary Hunt
Lilligant - starter/first Pokémon; an elegant Pokémon and it even wears a flower on its head like Mary
Roserade - another elegant Pokémon
Vespiquen - because Mary is like a queen, plus it is good for her plants
Meganium - another good Pokémon to have in a garden since its breath can revive plants
Tropius - a gift from Alan. I just added this one because it grows fruit on its neck.
Serperior - another regal Pokémon; I think Mary would get a Snivy in response to Katarina getting her Ekans
Alan Stuart
Glaceon ♂ (Nickname: Gliss) - starter/first Pokémon; he chooses to evolve his Eevee into a Glaceon instead of a Vaporeon to stand out.
Gyarados - originally a Magikarp represents how Alan went from feeling inferior to Geordo to finding his strengths.
Lapras - it sings enchanting melodies.
Primarina - a birthday gift from Mary; another Pokémon that sings
Kricketune - another musical Pokémon
Shiny Tyrantrum - a royal Pokémon; the shiny is blue with a silver crest, so the colors match Alan.
Sophia Ascart
Gardevoir - starter/first Pokémon; it has red eyes like Sophia, and it's part Fairy-type representing Sophia’s dream of being a fairy.
Shiny Phantump - red-and-white colors
White Flower Flabebe - white color matches her hair
Togetic - white color; part Flying-type to match her Wind Magic
Clefairy - another fairy; people say this Pokemon came from the moon so it connects to Sophia being a reincarnation from “out of this [Sorcier] world”
Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash - it’s an unicorn! What kind of girl who loves stories wouldn’t want an Unicorn?
Nicol Ascart
Swanna - starter/first Pokémon - swans are beautiful but dangerous; Nicol is gorgeous, and I headcanon that you don't want to make him angry
Noctowl - represents how smart he is
Corviknight - dark plumage like how Nicol has dark hair
Chatot - ironic because Nicol is a quiet person
Liepard - in reference to the dream of being a cat
Shinx -  because Nicol dealing with an energetic kitty is funny
I also have this funny idea that Nicol has several other cat Pokémon
Maria Campbell
Sylveon ♀ (Nickname: Caramel) - starter/first Pokémon; wild Pokémon that bonded with her after she discovered her magic. Fairy-Type is the closest thing to Light. (It was originally an Espeon due to it being Umbreon’s counterpart).
Teddiursa (Nickname: Alexander) - meet during Keith’s Kidnapping equivalent event; represent canon Alexander
Audino - a Pokémon used by healers
Pikachu - Maria is the protagonist of FL, like how Ash is Pokémon's
Alcremie (Ruby Cream form) - represents Maria's baking skills; Ruby Cream form because pink is Maria’s color.
Fidough - another representation of Maria’s baking skills, this time bread instead of sweets.
Raphael Walt/Sirius Dieke
Shuppet (Nickname: Orion) - starter/first Pokémon; it was Sirius' Pokémon initially; it knows what happened and bonded with Raphael because it saw how sad and lonely he was. It absorbs negative emotions so it would try to help Raphael.
Phantump - may or may not be the original Sirius Dieke; has some unusual coloration: red leaves and gray eyes.
Sableye - A Dark/Ghost Type to match his Dark magic and how a vengeful spirit possesses him
Mismagius - the spirit of Raphael's mother; has unusual coloring: red accents and gray eyes
Polteageist (Antique Form) - represent his love of tea
Cofagrigus - Dark Mage that killed his mother reborn as this Pokémon

Thinking of the temple eevee got me thinking...
Is that the answer to the so-called 'Umbreon Paradox'? (wherein umbreon evolved via friendship, but tends to be not naturally very sociable with other people or pokemon, leading to people wondering why it's evolution works that way.)
If we instead de-anthropomorphize the idea of friendship and consider Umbreon's role in the wild as the nocturnal protector of young eevee, then it makes sense: wary and aggressive behavior (protective behavior) toward strangers and wild pokemon who are all potential threats, while having high social bonds (friendship) toward it's own skulk. (And the need for exposure to moonlight makes it a natural day-night guard shift pair with Espeon, which has similar strong loyalty, defensive abilities, and basks in sunlight).

Potential
Nanowrimini/Month of Minific - November 19th
And the Eevees changed as well.
A Pokemon minific. Read it here on AO3.
------
Evolution is a curious thing.
Some Pokemon are meant never to evolve. Their form is solitary, giving them time to achieve a unique mastery of their body. All but one of the Pokemon of legend are formed as they always shall be.
Some Pokemon follow a line. Like a seed, they are destined to grow in certain ways, even if each individual shall reach that path in their own time. The journey may be long, but always worth it.
Some Pokemon branch in their forms. By a number of methods, in environment or behavior, the path before them is forward and yet forked. Divergence allows a species to adapt as needed, and thrive.
Some Pokemon, in certain places, can undergo a temporary kind of evolution. The rules change from region to region, as the energies of the world around them and the advances of science develop. Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Primal Reversion, Dynamax and Gigantamax, Terastallization. All are unstable, unable to be sustained for long or contained within a Pokeball’s world, and yet the power within each of them is worth seeking.
And then there is Eevee. A survivalist species, made to thrive in all places and against all odds. Its adaptability runs so deep, the very makeup of its genetics is made to shift, to adjust the path of evolution towards whatever gives it the best chance in its environment. And it is perhaps the species most intertwined with the world of man, for it is the only one whose evolution has changed over time to bond with us.
In the beginning, there were three paths that Eevee’s evolution could be guided down, all with concentrated power like those found in pure elemental stones. Vaporeon, the pressure of water; Jolteon, the speed of electricity; Flareon, the passion of flame.
And then there were people. People flocked to Eevees, for in the divergence of their evolution they saw a mirror to what they hoped to find within themselves. The will to change supposedly set paths to the future. And the Eevees changed as well. The bonds with humans seeped into their genetics, and they adapted to it, leaving two new strands of power waiting to be pulled from the world. Espeon, the all-seeing sunlit psychic; Umbreon, the star-shadowed guardian of darkness.
And the people took their Eevees with them as they went to new lands. They trusted their partners to protect them from whatever lay in wait, and guarded and guided them in turn. Together they could survive stranger things than either alone. And the Eevees changed as well. The new environments and their elements joined the memory of the Eevee’s DNA, and they passed this bloodline knowledge to their species, finding two more elements within their control. Leafeon, the resilience of trees; Glaceon, the sharpness of ice.
And the people continued to spread, and bring the Eevees with them. In the land of Kalos, a new type of power began to make itself known, quickly spreading across the world as people carried the seeds of this new type to all lands. Whether humans brought this new type into existence, or simply out of hiding, is still being researched. And the Eevees changed as well. The blend of this new power and the species’ bond with humans mixed and fused, changing the biology of Eevees who lived even beyond Kalos’ borders. Sylveon, the soothing fairy defender.
The limits of Eevees are much like the limits of humans - the boundaries shifting as we and they continue to adapt. It is impossible to yet know what other forms they will take alongside us. Perhaps that is why they are so beloved, to be brought to all corners of the world. In them do we see an image of our own potential.

Pokémon headcanons: Umbreon Edition
Wild Umbreon are nocturnal, preferring to hunt by night and sleep during the day. However, trained Umbreon are more crepuscular— active in the mornings and evenings. It is thought they adapted their sleep schedule to somewhat match their Trainers’ sleep patterns.
The bright yellow rings on Umbreon’s fur (blue if it’s a shiny) are warning signals. This Pokémon can spray poison from glands behind its eyes, and can aim with great accuracy. It only uses this as a defense against predators, though.
Its main diet consists mainly of small rodent and reptile Pokemon, which it stalks and pounces like a cat. Umbreon will also eat berries, carrion, and anything else it can find.
They are mostly solitary, but are very affectionate. In the wild, they will pair-bond with other Pokémon while they are still Eevees. This pair-bonding is thought to how Umbreon evolve in the wild. (This phenomenon has also been observed with Espeon, a close relative of Umbreon.)
In addition to serving as warning signs, the rings on Umbreon’s fur are an effective communication system. Umbreon use a combination of flash patterns, vocalizations, and body language to “talk” to one another.
They’re one of the most recommended service Pokémon, due to their loyalty and their intelligence. They are most often used as seeing-eye Pokémon, due to their keen eyesight.
Umbreon have an excellent sense of direction. In addition to being able to sense the earth’s magnetic field, they can also sense the position of the moon and stars even on a cloudy night.
Most Eevee evolutions have “nests” that they sleep in, but Umbreon doesn’t. By night, it hunts and patrols its territory. During the day, it isn’t picky about where it sleeps as long as the place is well-hidden. In the wild, Umbreon usually sleep in tree hollows, caves, or under shrubs. Domesticated Umbreon will sleep pretty much anywhere: on a shelf, under the bed, in a pile of blankets, you name it.
Umbreon are most common in dense forests, but can be found in any land habitat. In open areas, they prefer to nest in burrows abandoned by other Pokémon.

What if the KND were also pokemon trainers?
Tumblr media
Here we go again. So I have been getting back into Pokemon lately. One of my favorite things to do now is take cartoons that was a big fan of, and build pokemon teams that I think the character would have, if pokemon existed in their world and if they were trainers. I did several for Disney’s Isekial cartoons, and those were pretty well recived. But when I did Steven universe for Cartoonetwork or “The CN” no one cared. I am not sure if this one will get many likes either. It’s been such a long time since KND ended. But this was one of my favorite shows as a child, and I still consider it one of Cartoonetworks best shows ever. I love Kids Next Door. It was pretty easy to imagine the characters as pokemon trainers, and even if it gets no likes I still really wanted to do this post.
Also since sector V is so close, both a team and friend group, I decided that their group needed a mascot pokemon to show their team connection. Since there is only 2 pokemon that have at least 5 evolutions (only 1 of which is actually cool) I decided to use the Eevee line again. I used it for The Pines family in Gravity Falls, where I matched 7 of its evolutions to the 4 bio Pines family members, and three family friends who were pretty much family. For Sector V since there is 5 of them I am only using Eevee’s first 5 evolutions: Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon, and Umbreon. Teams are below
Nigel Uno a.k.a Numbuh 1
Tumblr media
Espeon: So you are probably expecting me to give Espeon to Numbuh 3 because of its pink coloring right? Nope. Espeon is a psychic type pokemon. With how focused and strong willed Numbuh 1 was, I could see psychis being his favorite pokemon type, and Espeon being a great partner for him.
Hypno and Lunatone: Continuing on my theory of Numbuh 1 and psychic pokemon I am also going to give him a Hypno and a Lunatone. Hypno because it’s level of focus kinda reminds me of Nigel’s. Also it can help people with insomnia, which if I remember Numbah 1 either had or beginning to develop. Lunatone because not only did he love the moonbase but he also really enjoyed space travel missions, *alludes to the series Finale*.
Torchic: At this point I have to stop using just psychics and give Numbuh 1 a more balanced team. He was honestly the hardest one to think up a team for, since so many pokemon are animal based, and if you remember Nigel was kind of an animal hater. Or more specifically he saw pets as “in the way” and would generally be slower to warm up to animals then his teamates. But he grew to love anything that could assist in missions. One such occasion was with the baby chicks that followed them on that one cake stealing mission, and wanted to act as Numbuh 1′s troops. Becuase he bonded so well with them I had to give him a Torchic.
Warturtle: Shades are an important part of numbuh 1′s character. He and his team consider them a symbol for him being a leader (even though to the best of my knowledge none of the other sector leaders were shades). I went to google and typed “pokemon that like to wear sunglasses” and Squirtle came right up. I could see Squirtle’s move pool coming in handy on missions, and Numbah 1 being able to bond very well with the brave and ready to go turtle. But while I wanted to keep his torchic as a cute little chick. I do believe Numbah 1 would be able to evolve a Squirtle at least into a warturtle.
Sceptile: Numbah 1′s team Ace. At this point I noticed I was giving him different starter evolutions and I decided to role with it and give a him a fully evolved grass type as sixth pokemon. Now if we go by rejoins I should give him a Meganium, since chikorita is the Johoto grass starter and Johoto is in between Kanto and Hoenn. But let’s be real Nigel and any version of chikorita’s line would be a disaster together. (Ironically though that would be a pretty good pokemon for his girlfriend Lizzy to use in contests). Also I want him to have the potential to find a mega stone and train a mega evolution. Looking at Grass starters I think it would be the quick, agile, and composed treecko line that would be best suited for our leader here. So Sceptile rounds out his team.
Nigel/Numbah 1′s pokemon team: Espeon, Hypno, Lunatone, Torchic, Warturtle, and Sceptile.
Hogarth (Hoagie) Pennywhistle (P) Gilligan Jr. a.k.a Numbuh 2
Tumblr media
Jolteon and Dedenne: Jolteon is gonna be Hoagie’s eevelution. It’s an electric one and he is a mad scientist characters. And while I am getting a bit tired of electric types and mad scientists on my lists I have to acknowledge Jolteon is the best fit for Numbuh 2 out of Eevee’s original 5 starters. Dedenne joins his team too. (It at least is duel electric/fairy type) I am giving him this to represent Joaquin, the little leader hamster that Helps Numbuh 2 test experiments
Scarmory and Yanma: Numbuh 2 is more than just the teams 2x4 technology expert though. He is also the teams pilot, and loves spending time in the air. So he would have to have at least a couple flying pokemon. For Skarmory I wanted hm to have something big enough to fly him and his teammates around. I thought about maybe doing Arodactyle, but honestly a giant scrap metal chicken suits Numbuh 2 and the KND much more than a prehistoric dinosuar. Yanma is similar to his fly-themed jet pack and is used to fly him around personally (Jessie’s was able to lift her, and even if Hoagie is chubby I doubt he weighs more than a full grown women).
An Alolan Grimer: Grimer and Muk (who Hoagie is not ready for yet) are another pokemon I like giving scientist characters (might have something to do with me being an owl house fan), because they are kinda the slimes, and sludges, and base elements of the earth. Also Numbuh 2 was that little boy who loved gross stuff, so a Gimer fits him really well.
I am giving Numbah 2 an Alolan Grimer, as opposed to a regular Kanto grimer for two reasons. One because the dark green color makes it look like boogers, which in the KND are used as personal verification for operatives and power sources for some of their technology. Secondly because I gave Abby a more exotic/regionly diverse team, which I feel makes sense for her. But as revealed in the finale numbuh’s 2&5 get married as adults. Looking back at the show while two don’t seem to have those feelings for each other yet (Well Hoagie does not have those feelings for Abby yet. Abby may be starting to like like Hoagie, but she either does not realize it herself yet, or keeps it a secret from everyone else. Gonna guess the former, because she couldn’t keep her crush on Maurice a secret), you can see hints and suggestions that they will one day sprinkled throughout the show. I wanted to give them a connection through their teams that, like them, was more sublte. So I am giving them both alolan pokemon.
Munchlax: a chubby kiddie with a near unstopable appitite. Gramdma the Stuffem bewere the combined eating power of both Numbuh 2 and Munchlax together.
Hoagie/Numbuh 2′s team: Jolteon, Dedenne, Scarmory, Yanma, Alolan Grimer, Munchlax.
Kuki Sanban A.K.A Numbuh 3
Tumblr media
(Note Kuki here was the most fun to make a team for, and honestly the only hard part was having to limit her to just 6. I could for real do another two lists at least for her)
Flareon: Which eevelution will Numbuh 3 get, if Numbuh 1 has the beautiful Espeon? Why Flareon of course! If Kuki were the only operative to get an eevelution the correct one for her would still be Flareon. Flareon is fluffiest one. It’s adorable. Like Numbuh 3 it’s base demeanor and attitude are that of a sweetheart, but if you are dumb enough to make it mad it will set itself and your sorry backside ablaze.
Chimchar: So since Numbah 3 was such an avid collector/protector of rainbow monkey’s, she has to, has to have a colorful monkey pokemon. I picked chimcar because according to cannon her favorite Rainbow monkey is “The Orange Kind (Because it reminds her of Wally)” Plus as stated previously I believe Numbuh 3 would make for a really strong Fire type trainer.
Bannet: Numbuh 3's strongest pokemon. Representative of both ramon4 and Numbuh 3's most important trait: her heart. Bannets are born from discarded toys and love that has been forgotten. Number 3 always believed everyone deserved and needed love, and made it her mission to give it when she could (Ramon4, the mustache “Kitty”, ghost hamsters, and many others). If Numbuh 3 came across a sad and lonely bannet, she would totally catch it just so she could shower it with what it believes is gone. That's who she is.
skunky: for Bradley
Skitty: it's super cute, super sweet, super hyper, and super strong all rolled into one. In my opinion It's the most Kuki Sanban a pokemon there is
Beautifly: Because it is pretty, colorful, and feminine, and there is nothing wrong with being a girly girl. It was trained alongside and is super good pals with Numbuh 4′s Dustops
Kuki/Numbuh 3′s team: Flareon, Chimchar, Bannet, Skunky, Skitty, Beautifly
Wallabe (Wally) Beetles a.k.a Numbuh 4
Tumblr media
Vaporeon: Okay so for real Wally got Vaporeon by default. When I decided I should use the first 5 eveelutions a team connection for Sector V the other 4  went right with who they fit best, and Vaporeon and Wally were what was left. When I realized this I at first tried to rationalize switching him and one of his friends partners, or maybe changing the connection. Why would Number 4 have a Vaporeon? It’s a water pokemon and he couldn’t/could barely Swim?... Then it hit me that is exactly why he needs/should have Vaporeon. Water is his big weakness. So a pokemon that could help him in the water would be an integral and invaluable part of his team.
Magikarp: Because he loved Mr. Fishy so much. Plus once he is done raising it and it was ready to evolve, he would then have a giant, raging, serpent to ride around on. It could help him to feel tall. ( Anyone remember Tubezilla?)
Slowpoke: It comes off as a really dim, but grows up to be one of he smartest pokemon there is. This represents how everyone thought Numbuh 4 was a dummy, but as became apparent as he grew up, he was actually a genius. This is the last water pokemon I am giving him. Him having a team that is half water-types was not intentional, but a happy accident. I love it.
Tyrogue and Hawlocha: Numbah 4 was the strongest member of sector v, and the best at battle. So as such he would probably have at least 2 fighting types. I chose to give him both a decked out  T.V. wrestler and  the scrappiest kid pokemon.
Dustops: So I really wanted to do a second, two part, branch evolution with 3x4, and have them raise them together. After looking into different branch evolution I came to the conclusion that I would have to use Beautifly and Dustops (It was them or Huntail and Gorabis). Beautifly works perfectly for Numbuh 3. While Dumbuh 4 would probably initially think butterfly’s are “sissy” Dustops is technically a moth which might be more acceptable. Exspecally since it is a poison type with a scary face pattern on its wings, and again gave him an excuses to spend more one-on-one time training with the girl of his dreams. He would come to love Dustops, no doubt about it.
Wally/Numbuh 4′s team: Vaporeon, Magikarp, Slowpoke, Machop, Hawlocha, Dustops
Abigail (Abby) Lincoln  a.k.a Numbuh 5
Tumblr media
(I think I mentioned this in Hoagie’s list, but I am giving Numbuh 5 a more exotic/regionally diverse team, since she traveled so much on her Candy adventures).
Umbreon: Numbuh 5 gets Umbreon because she was the operative that had the most talent for Night based Missions. Umbreon and Espeon were released in the samegen, and that will have to serve as Numbuh’s 1&5′s connection to each other, as friends and 1st&2nd in command of the team. Originally I wanted to make them the only 2 with Mega evolutions, but it turns out Bannet (whom I refuse to take off Numbuh 3′s team list) can mega evolve, and chimchar and Magickarp will mega evolve at their final forms. Then I tried to give them both shinnies, but the shinnies on numhuh 1′s team did not suit him as well as their regular forms. So by default I am just giving them parallel eeveelutions.
Froakie: Another one for taking on night missions. Wiki says Forakie acts really chill on the outside, but deep down is supper protective and watchful of its closest companions. Numhuh 5 and Froakie are one and the same in that regard, and would no doubt work well as a team. Plus it’s a super cool pokemon, that just gets cooler as it evolves. I love the idea of future Supreme Leader Numbuh 5 having a Grenija with her up on the Moonbase. Galactic KND Beware.
Vanilliuxe: What? This girl is not only super chill; she was candy themed Indiana Jones. She needs at least two ice-type pokemon, and at least 1 candy/sweet pokemon. Unfortunately candy/sweet based pokemon are a rarity (I have elected to ignore slurpuff’s existence). Fortunately the Vanilite pokemon line exists. Ice cream is supposed to be her favorite treat. I am going to give her the Fully evolved form: Xanilliuze. She is the fourth flavor chosen one after all.
An Alolan Sandshrew: Numbuh 5′s second ice type pokemon, her alolan pokemon (As previuosly mentioned that I gave Abby and Hoagie each a, different typed, alolan pokemon; to highlight their friendship and the subtle hints through out the show that they will one day like each other as more), and what is in my opinion her cutest pokemon.
A hisiun Arcanine: Number 5 said once that she liked dogs, and I think her an Arcanine would get along quite well. Arcanine’s another pokemon that shows off how she see’s herself as a protector to her friends. It’s big enough to carry Number 5 as well as friends/team mates of her’s, and fast enough to make quick, speedy, get aways when needed. I could also see it being very useful on Candy missions . I am giving her a Hisuin one because I really like its design, and to connect with her sister’s favorite pokemon.
Mawile: Rounding out Numbuh 5′s team is Mawile. picked for its trademark “Head gear” if you will, as well as its skills with tricking/deceiving its foes.
Abby/ Numbuh 5′s team: Umbreon, Froakie. Vanilliuxe, An Alolan Sandshrew, A hisiun Arcanine, Mawile.
Notable Background character.
Kids Next Door isn’t all sector V. There are other operatives and former operatives who are now Teen Ninja’s that show up frequently. However given these characters screen time  I will only give them 1-2 pokemon. I am not saying they do not have 6, but  I figure most of theirs would probably stay at their bases, and they would bring their favorite ones on missions away from their areas.

Feraligatr and and Monferno: was tempted to take the easy way out and just give the man here and absol (rumored to be but really isn’t), but I have already used Absol a couple other times (Ducktales Lena and The owl House’s Hunter), and Chad here’s character is very different from theirs. Plus I did not go into this just to tack on easy, less creative choices. So I thought more about Chad. He’s a jock; that was true in both his time as a KND operative, as Supreme Leader, and as a Teen Ninja/Double Agent. I google sports based pokemon and discover that there are many pokemon based off famous athletes.
I chose Feraligatr who is based off a pro football player. Football is Chad’s favorite sport, and Feraligatr is a fast, muscled, high powered, and intimidating beast. Infernape is based off a famous boxer. Chad could box well too. But I lowered it down one evolution to a Monferno, to show that there is still more training he could do.

Venomoth:  Before she took over as Supreme Leader Numbuh 362 was a stealth agent/spy for the KND right? So I wanted to give her a really stealthy, ninja pokemon. At first I was gonna give her Frogadier, and that may have worked okay (her having the evolved form of one of Abby’s pokemon could be a hint to Abby being her successor). But then, when I was re-watching season 1 of Pokemon, I found the episode where Ash goes to challenge the leader at a ninja based gym. The gym leader and his sister used venonat and venomoth a lot. I know that both have super good vision. Venamoth being a flying type could also keep look out and do aerial scouting. Once I read stun spore and sleep powder are in its move pool that was it. Venomoth became the perfect pokemon for a spy agent who does little battling, but lot’s of sneaking around and intel gathering on the enemy.
Richu: One thing I was trying to avoid doing was giving her a team that was similar to Chad’s. After Chad’s “betrayal” on his 13th birthday I cannot imagine the KND would have allowed their next Supreme leader to copy Chad. Besides Rachel is clever enough I do not think she would ever have to. I gave Chad a water type and a fire type pokemon. So I decided to give Rachel an electric pokemon. Once I made that decision Richu was an easy pick. For one it matches the orange and brown stripped sweater she starts wearing in season 2. It is also a strong and clever mouse, and could function as the ears to Venomth’s eyes on her team.

Houndoom and Snubble. So do to her... tough and yappy personality (which yes I know is a shield she puts up due to having what must be the most emotionally difficult role in the KND: having to decommission operatives that age out after years of service) it was a given that she would have dog pokemon. Houndoom is a big, fierce one, that helps her hunt down the operatives that refuse to go without a fight. Or worse, try to leave early and sell the organizations secrets to the enemy. Snubble is still grumpy and tough. But it is also small, and doll like, and could maybe serve as a comfort creature for this girl.
Cree Lincoln, Formerly Numbuh 11, Now high ranking teen Ninja
Has 1 favorite pokemon

Sneasler: A Hisuian pokemon  (so there is a bit of a connection with both her and her younger sister having Hisuian pokemon). Sneasler is a powerful poison and fighting type which is a combo that suits Cree very well. It’s also very ninja like, scary, and in contrast to weavile (a pack creature) it’s pretty much a loner. If I remember Chad and the other teens often worked as a group. Cree meanwhile would recruit teens to their organization, but was pretty much a soloist in the field.
Patton Drilovsky a.k.a Numbuh 60

Empoleon: Pretty simple. His character is basically that he is in charge of the arctic base; which is probably the second most important KND base next to the Moonbase. Its also in the coldest part of Antarctica. What else would I give him but a giant Emperor penguin pokemon.
Maurice Bramley “Formerly” Numbuh 9
Tumblr media
Exacadrill: Maurice is the first undercover KND operative in the Teen Ninja force, that learn about. His character is that he is a mole, so I gave him a giant, powerful mole, steel/ground type mole.
Tommy Gilligan a.k.a The Tommy, formerly numbuh T Probably only has the 1 pokemon
Tumblr media
Eevee: Yeah yeah yeah Tommy is like 7, so he is “to young for Pokemon”. Kids younger than 10 had pokemon in the show (looking at you Bonnie). Also he trained at the KND Academy, and that would have advanced his readiness. I am actually giving him an eevee since as numbuh T he is put in sector V, si he would have been given an Eevee. But he quit (in a Hero move) after a day, we’ll say he kept the eevee but did not have a chance to battle and evolve it.
Since Tommy basically goes back to being a weird but typical child afterwards, he never evolves Eevee, he just keeps it as a pet/best friend. When I used Eevolutions for the Pines family I did not have a character I could do the “I do not want to evolve it. I want to just keep training Eevee as it is” trope. But Tommy is a pretty good candidate to do that for in Codename Kids Next Door.
