I have an episode idea!

Ok so basically it’s about Shadow deciding to participate in a game show for some reason (my guess either for ego inflating reasons or a prize of some sort like a large sum of money or an ancient mech), but he doesn’t have anyone to fill out his local edgelord duties for him while he’s gone, he can’t have Sonic fill in for him, heavens no, he thinks Tails is like 3 and too young for the job, Sticks is too insane, Amy too pink I guess? And Knuckles is Knuckles. So who does he ask? Silver the hedgehog (and possibly Mephiles too), hilarity ensues.

ALKSDJLAJLFSJALJ HEY THIS COULD ACTUALLY BE AN IDEA i have some thoughts on how to expand upon this concept...... and so i created what you see below instead of making bullet points like a normal person

(takes place sometime after this post and this post)

"...and because I'm getting paid below minimum wage at my job, I applied for Veggies Gone Edgy," Shadow finished explaining to his audience.

Team Sonic was baffled. Shadow was standing in front of them, wearing sunglasses and yet another Hawaiian shirt and looking as self-assured as ever despite...everything he had just said. Veggies Gone Edgy? Seriously? That one game show hosted by Comedy Chimp where contestants make weapons out of celery sticks and asparagus and kick each other's butts with them?

"Who're you and what've you done with Shadow?!" Sticks demanded to know, brandishing her boomerang threateningly. The Shadow she knew would never resort to using pea shooters! He would just use regular shooters! "Which android are you?!"

One of Sonic's hands shot out to block her from tackling Shadow. He wasn't in the mood to watch one of his team members die. "Shadow, all I asked was why you were wearing that, and that didn't answer anything."

"It's part of the dress code." Shadow raised his sunglasses to rest upon his brow. "The theme for this episode is summer fun."

Sonic nodded slowly, absorbing the information. Forgive him if he was having a hard time reconciling summer and fun with Shadow the Hedgehog. "Okaaaay... and why are you doing this when you don't have to?"

"I told you, you daft idiot. I'm underpaid."

"I think what Sonic meant," Amy interrupted, "was that you don't actually need any more money. You can afford anything you want with what you currently have. You don't have to pay rent or anything, since you live in a cave."

"That's the great thing about living in nature!" Knuckles grinned before holding up a hand. "High five!"

Shadow smacked it away. Knuckles decided that counted.

"Fine, you got me. The truth is, I'm participating because Infinite, that pathetic, grungy, loser mutt who wears that freak mask to hide his ugly mug, applied in a futile attempt to prove himself as a bigger edgelord than me. I'm going to show him who's boss."

The others had no words.

"But because I'm going to be busy being edgy on set, I won't be around to be edgy around the village. Which is a problem," Shadow mused aloud. "Who else will be around to walk around hating everything? That's why I've called you all here."

"You want one of us to fill in for you?" Tails felt like he was picking up on what Shadow was putting down. "I don't think that's--"

Shadow snorted before he could finish. "Chaos, no. I don't need to even consider it for half a second to know none of you fools can measure up to my presence. I called you all here precisely so I could rub in why you're no good."

"Have you ever thought of considering why your attitude is no good?" Amy hissed.

"Never. For starters, you." He pointed a rude finger at her. "Your color palette is the least edgy thing I've ever seen. You're better off masquerading as a pony in some cartoon about friendship."

"Excuse me?!"

He redirected his attention towards Sticks. "You're not it because I don't need people saying that my substitute swims in the local landfill for sport."

Sticks sighed wistfully. "None of you will ever get it..."

"You, fox, are out of the question." Shadow looked down his nose at Tails. "You're 6 months old."

"I thought you said I was 3."

"So, you admit it."

Tails blinked. "Huh?"

"You admit you're 3."

"What? No. I'm just saying you think I'm--"

"You admit you're 3 months old."

"Three months? Nonono, hold on, when did--"

"As for the echidna..." Shadow trailed off as he peered at Knuckles, who smiled somewhat bashfully under his unreadable gaze. After a brief staring contest, the black hedgehog sighed and quickly moved on to the team's leader. "Last but not least, Sonic, you seem like the best option, but..."

"...But...?" Sonic prompted.

"I don't like you."

Sonic resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "I saw that coming."

"And people confuse us to be each other enough already," Shadow added. "I don't know why, considering we look nothing alike."

Sonic nodded, a gesture that indicated surprisingly genuine agreement. "Yeah, that's always been annoying. That's a pretty valid reason, actually."

"Speak for yourself." Tails was still pretty put out over how Shadow was under the impression that he was aging backwards. Which was literally impossible, by the way. "If none of us are good enough for you, then who is?"

"No one is. Don't ask stupid questions," Shadow replied. "I know when to settle for less when I have to, though, so I have no choice but to ask someone outside of our usual circle."

Before anyone could ask him to explain himself, he starts making a beeline for the door.

Amy's eyes followed his retreating form. "Where are you going?"

"To destroy the world."

Team Sonic spent no more than 2 seconds freaking out over this blunt admission and getting their weapons out before a portal opened above them and dropped a familiar face in between them and Shadow, who stopped walking as soon as he heard the sound behind him. Still, he didn't turn around.

"Shadow the Hedgehog!" Silver glared, skipping all pleasantries. "I'm from a future where you destroyed the world and I somehow still exist even though my planet doesn't! I plan on stopping you, no matter what!"

"Ah, just the one I was looking for."

He faltered slightly at those unexpected words, but he refused to drop his battle stance completely. "Excuse me?"

"I need you to fill in for my edginess while I'm off participating in a game show." Shadow finally turned around to look him in the eye. "It's imperative that you succeed."

"Wh... Okay, I don't understand a word of what you just said, but why would I help you when you destroyed my world?!" Silver shouted.

"Do this, and your world will be safe."

"Shadow, you did not just create a whole timeline where you destroyed the world only so you could summon Silver here to act like you." Sonic was the first to break the stunned silence that befell his entire group. He couldn't believe this... Actually, never mind, he could. Shadow would do this. He would. "You really couldn't pick someone from the village in our time?"

"Do you think I can rely on any of those nitwits?" Shadow shot back.

"Do you think you can rely on Silver?" Sonic paused before turning to the newcomer. "No offense."

"None taken, but if this will really save the future..." Silver took a deep breath. Shadow wanted him to act edgy, did he? He still didn't get why, but he had a feeling that he shouldn't ask for more context. The Hawaiian shirt was already a red flag by itself. Lowering his voice in a poor attempt at emulating Shadow's own, he exclaimed, "It's no use!"

Sticks could detect any lame, overused meme from a mile away. "You're not funny," she told him, though her words were mainly aimed at the author who had just made him say such things.

"Ah, sorry..."

"We'll work on it. You just need to be in the correct mindset first." Shadow grabbed his soon-to-be replacement by the arm. "I'm taking you to get a dye job. I'm sure it'll help with everything else."

Before anyone could protest, the two of them teleported away in a flash of blue light.

"Guys..."

Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Sticks turned to face Knuckles.

"The more we interact with Shadow, the more I feel embarrassed to know him."

The others found that they shared the sentiment.

Hello! Just a heads up, the post about the cat medical bill from user 'march-pls-be-good' is a scam. There's a post about this scammer and how to identify their scams here, and a detailed post on general scam red flags here, if you wanna learn. This particular scammer spreads their posts in two ways: first, by sending asks to totally random people, telling them not to publish those asks so they can hide how much they're spamming people, and second, recently, they started @'ing random users to get boosted.

The biggest giveaways for this scammer are: 1) their oldest post is only a few hours old. 2) They're using USD $ in their post, but if you hover over the paypal link, it says 'country=PH', which is Philippines, where they use Philippine pesos 3) They ask people to send money using paypal 'friends and family', which doesn't have protections for people if they're scammed

Their other active blogs are currently lxve and imse7en. Notice the similarities!

You can report the scam post through 'report something else', 'unlawful uses or content', then 'phishing!' Depending on what you're ok with, you can delete the scam post, or edit it to have 'this is a scam' in big letters in your reblog and tags, so people who see the original post see your warning in the notes. I'm sending this message to as many people as I can to warn them and share some tips :) Have a nice day!

Actually I was kinda skeptical about it when I first saw it, because of the name of the blog and other stuff. But since I saw the post already had several notes, none of which talked about scam (and tbh I had to go to work when I got the ask fiajfja), I posted it (kinda because I love cats way too much and also WTF is wrong with people lying about these??).

Maybe it makes it worse lol that I had doubts and still posted, part of me wanted to do it after work... but sentiments. Anyway what shone some doubts to me too was that there was no vet bill to prove what they were saying. I hope no one donated because I rebloggued it... ugh. I'll report them, thanks for the heads up. Tbh I got quite a few asks like this, I never reblog their stuff, this time I got gotten uhhhh.

I hate some people, really...

2. 5 favourites of your own work?

Maan this is hard because my favourite pieces change around like all the time and my opinion on what my fave is changes based on what i’m fixated on. So um, this is my humble opinion on what my favourite pieces are as of 4pm - 5pm 24th February 2023: 

None of this stuff is really recent (hell the horse skull one's from 2018) which sounds bad but trust me I still do like my most recent work! It’s just none of it has reached Favourite status yet, which is fine, I’ll make a piece that’ll blow my own tits off one day just you wait.

7. Favourite works of all time excluding your own?

You’re asking me to think of other people's work, you think I remember stuff like that? I hardly remember my own work.

Just kidding uhhhh genuinely I can’t think, my favourite other artist are my friends because all their work is good and it’s a huge inspiration to me always, I reblog their stuff when I remember to so go through my friends art tag to find them, show them some love pls. Besides I’m also one of those people that just has endless amounts of love for everyone else’s work as well, like everyones an inspiration to me, the world is full of amazing art and brother, I’m looking at it.

16. What’s the most daunting part of your process? Ex, planning, sketching, lineart, rendering etc

Planning. 100%, every other step is fine once I get into it but literally getting started is never easy, I’d argue that I never get artists block because my god I have every piece of art that I ever want to draw thought up until the date I die, but actually getting it down and working with it is so fucking hard. Sketching a pain too but again once I have what I’m going with down, the rest comes easy, well ok I bitch and moan at every other step but that’s just me being dramatic, planning gets me sobbing crying throwing up everywhere like no other step can.

18. Do you have any larger projects you’d like to pursue? Like comics, shortfilm, a series etc?

I have always wanted to do comic series of some kind, but right now art takes me SOOOO fucking long to do that if I started a comic, it would take me like weeks to get one page done, so until I’m able to get more efficient with my work, no comics for me. 

Besides I don’t have the attention span to create a whole series but mark my word as soon as I do it’s over for you people <3

3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do? We Learned the Sea by Floorcoaster is 1000% the biggest inspiration for me specifically in regard to A Darker Blue. I mean, the parallels are evident. In truth, I often write stories around specific scenes and those scenes are often inspired by other fic. It's hard to pinpoint just one. commit this to memory being in 2nd person was inspired by a random dramione one-shot I'd read in 2nd person that day, I believe. The POV just stuck with me and I couldn't let it go.

20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process? The yelling about my feelings with other people. That moment where I'm plotting (derogatory) and everything just clicks into place. Releasing stuff and having people come back and tell me all their favorite parts were things I didn't even give a second glance. I love the community of it all. I made friends!!! because of fanfic. 34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is? Oh geez. I mean, I draw on personal experiences for a lot of things. Hermione's leg injury in A Darker Blue is based on a chronic one that my husband struggles with. Addiction is something I am ~intimately~ familiar with so it's cathartic and easy to write about it. I am deeply anxious and whenever I write that into characters, I give them huge pieces of me. I honestly have no idea what readers' image of me is. I'm just uhhhh me, I guess. I talk too much, overshare, and have poor self-control haha. I try and be friendly but I think it might come off as overbearing at times >< SOCIAL ANXIETY AMIRITE.

One day, months after he was supposed to come home, there's a knock on the door, one of Dahlia's siblings, who he assumes is here for Dahlia, no one ever comes to see just him. He says Dahlia's not here, and they tell him that no, they're here to talk to Duke, and it seems like they're upset about something but he can't be sure. They ask if they could talk to him alone, away from the kids who crowded around to see who it was, and Duke tells them to go play somewhere else, while leading Dahlia's sibling to a more private room. He gets told he might want to sit, so he takes the nearest chair and follows through, waiting for them to say what exactly this is about. "It's Dahlia," they say, and it takes a while for them to elaborate. Even with that elaboration, it's telling a story, explaining the heist Dahlia was on when he left. And he wishes that they could just tell him that he left, that he's not coming back because he found someone better, he knows that's what it is but if someone was going to tell him they should just say it. And then they start tearing up, and finally tell Duke that Dahlia is dead. He's dead. The love of his life....Is dead. Not off with someone else. That's why he never answered the phone, why he never returned his calls, why he never...came back. It hits him as soon as the words are said, but it takes all of it sinking in for him to start crying. Dahlia didn't abandon him, didn't leave him for someone better, and this is worse because at least then Dahlia would be happy. He curls up, still seated in the chair, and his sibling-in-law stands there, unsure what to do. They invite him to the funeral, apologizing for his loss before escorting themself out.

He attends, as do all the kids and all of the other Roses, and then life goes on. Duke debates going to get revenge, allowing himself to maybe follow his love's footsteps, but he can't do that to the kids. He can't make them all orphans. He rarely sleeps alone, though now instead of his Dahlia being beside him, his bed is filled with shuffling kids, and many times he wakes up with a face streaked with tears. But life goes on for the smaller family, and Duke still loves and takes care of their...his children.
