A little star trail I took out at Cana Island before I left for Alaska. One of my favorite places to shoot and for good reason. I will admit...it took me longer than it should have to get my Lume Panel to light this nice and evenly like this but it worked out pretty well in the end. :) 335 images. A frame from my trip to Hyde Mill back in May. I knew the milky way was going to be up later at night but checked Photopills to verify and figure out exactly what time. This is actually a single frame from my timelapse that I took. I have a couple small Lume Panels behind me that's lighting the scene. Even though there's some light pollution from some near by towns it's still pretty dark there. The gear I used here was.... So just like with the Irix 21mm I shot some comparison shots for the Irix 30mm. I know some of you guys have asked about them. Another trip to the ruins for me. After seeing Neal's shot from this angle I decided I needed to go back and try it out. This was the second visit I had down to the covered bridge at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. A startrail I shot from Ship Rock last weekend. What an awesome little place. I ended up having to mask out a lot of the foreground in a few frames because of all the traffic that was driving by. A few weeks ago Neal Grosskopf messaged me and druuuuuuug me out to shoot....ok, more like I have been telling him for like 6 months I wanted to go back out to Cana Island and shoot and he let me know it was clear so I made the journey up. ;) And for good reason as you can see. This is a 6 image stack (though I'm not entirely sure I would have needed to stack it) I stacked this in Sequator, then edited in LR/PS to produce this. I shot this as a comparison between two Irix lenses. The Irix 21mm Dragonfly and the Irix 30mm Dragonfly. I thought about doing the 15mm as well but it was running a timelapse that I didn't want to stop....then the clouds rolled in so....I'll save that for another time. 😉 These images are shot with the same settings, same camera and edited with the exact same settings. I know I could edit them better but I was trying to give just a general idea of the focal length difference and overall look of the images produced by each lens and didn't want to get too involved with anything. Keep in mind neither of these lenses have a lens profile in Lightroom yet either...so they should only get better!
