A/N: i know i just disappeared but I'm back I've just been really busy and i've been helping my sister with the writing part of her comic but i thought id come back with some angst/no comfort. after this ill post some fluff promise!
Anyways here's a bandaid to help with the wounds this'll inflict.
(:̲̅:̲̅:[̲̅:★:]̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅ )
Fiance Tanjiro X Gender Neutral Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"My life is incomplete,
its missing you" -missing you (btob)
it was a beautiful day when he met you, it was sunny and a rainstorm had just passed the day before leaving a clear sky. it was nearing the end of october and winter was right around the corner maki9ng this the perfect day to sell charcoal before it got to cold.
tanjiro hiked down the mountain with his basket filled to the brim with charcoal ready to be sold. he was busy trying not to trip when heading down the creek until a overwhelming sweet scent entered his nose and he felt himself being toppled over into the water.
"oh crap i'm sososorry!" you said standing from the deep water to offer him a hand.
"are you hurt?" you asked as he just stared up at you in a daze.
to tanjiro it felt like a angel had fallen out of the sky rather than a clumsy teen who got lost in a forest, got scared, and accidentaly ran into a poor helpless boy.
"uh, are you good?" you asked again as he realized he was staring and snapped out of it. "i apologize i not hurt, thank you!" he said as he took your hand to stand. "don't apologize this is 100% my fault, i should've been watching where i was going" you said bowing at a perfect 50 degree angle as he sweat dropped.
"really its fine im not hurt at all" he said letting out a reassuring laugh as the tips of your ears turned red. "if there's anything i can do to apologize please let me know!" you yelled in embarrassment your entire face red.
"then can you tell me your name?" he asked offering his hand.
"huh? thats it? youre not gonna sell me to the cartel or anything right" you said exclaiming with your hands as he let out a laugh. "no i wouldnt" he said giving you a bright beaming smile.
"okay! ____ ______, im pleased to meet you!" you said taking his hand in yours. "tanjiro kamado, its nice to meet you too" he said a small blush spreading to his cheeks.
from that day forward a relationship like no other had blossomed.
tanjiro couldn't explain it but every time he was around you he got this fuzzy feeling in his stomach, he felt as if he was in complete and utter safety around you.
from the way you smiled, to the way you joked. he loved everything, he loved how your ears turned red when you were embarrassed. or how when you were angry you would turn a light shade of pink, the jokes you told.
he couldn't understand most of them but the way you would mutter them again to yourself and laugh had him smiling in pure joy.
he almost felt free around you.
sure he loved his family, but sometimes the pressure of being the oldest and breadwinner really put a lot on his shoulders. yet up until this point, he couldn't do much.
but when you came into his life you would pat him on the head, tell him good job when he completed something, always asking him how his day was going. tanjiro was so used to just bottling everything down that when he had someone who was constantly think of him, and only him he began to cry.
"tan tan, i don't know you get this alot but im really proud of you" you said as you played with his hair as you two sat on a tree trunk on the edge of the creek you two first met.
you continued even as you felt his shoulders stiffen a bit. "the way you're always there for your siblings and how you're always so kind is something i don't think i'd be able to do." you giggled. "sometimes i wonder if people ever let you know how much you mean to them, so i'm letting you know right now" you smiled as you wrapped your arms around his waist and placed your chin on his shoulder.
your eyes softened as the small tears trailed down his cheeks as you brought a hand to wipe them away.
"tanjiro kamado thank you for being such a bright star in this cruel world"
that was the night he confessed, where he told you how much he loved you, and to his shock, you loved him too.
the two of you were official, he had spent a small fortune on finding you the perfect ring, the best ring. and that's what he confessed with.
and finally it was the day for you to meet his family.
he had told you stories. on how takeo would get angry when he wasn't included in things. how shigeru and hanako would get into fights but forget about them within a minute. how rokuta was just now taking his first few steps and how his speech was increasing. and how nezuko was always helping out but also being a sense of comfort to all. and how even tho she was all alone his mother took care of most of the household even while sick.
from everything you had heard his family was absolutely lovely. and you hoped they would find you the same way.
and luckily, they adored you.
as soon as you walked through the door shigeru and hanako ran up to you and grabbed you by the legs excitedly asking if you were the person tanjiro was going to marry.
the entire day had gone by smoothly up until dinner time.
you sat next to tanjiro with baby rokuta in your lap after he refused to be let go, he weirdly grew fond of you quickly; not that you were complaining he was absolutely adorable. his mother was at your other side and nezuko, takeo, shigeru, and hanako where infront of you four.
"so ____" kie called out causing you to look up from baby rokuta who was babbling words you were trying to understand. "yes okasan?" you asked as she turned to face you. "do you like kids?" she asked with a smile as rokuta continued to play with your un occupied hand.
"uh huh! in the village i was from before i came here i helped out at a nursery so i gained a bit of experience in caring and bonding with children" you said as baby rokuta looked up to you with a innocent baby look before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
a chorus of 'aww's went around the room as the baby happily babbled away.
"i hope you and tanjiro give me some grandbabies soon seeing as this one is already growing to fast" kei said out loud causing a angry red blush to spread to both you and tanjiros cheeks as both kei and nezuko laughed leaving the other two children confused.
"m-mom!" tanjiro stuttered the blush deepening as she continued laughing.
oh such happy memories.
sadly, you and tanjiro wouldn't be able to make more.
that night you had stayed over and were going to leave 3 days from then, sadly that would never happen.
the day after returning home from selling charcoal tanjiro sped up at the smell of blood.
the smell of blood, coming from his home.
a massacre had happened.
kei and hanako laid against the door frame to the kitchen eyes closed, pale faces covered in blood.
shigeru and takeo lying motionless on the floor eyes stuck open in terror. and in the entrance door frame layed nezuko, rokuta, and you.
all presumably dead.
the only one who lived was nezuko, yet his sister became a demon. the very thing that had killed his family and the love of his life.
"Muzan Kibutsuji! No matter where you go, you're not getting away! I'll follow you to the ends of Hell, and I swear I'll slice your head with my blade! I'll never forgive you no matter what!"
and he never will.
muzan kibutsujii will pay, for taking his past and present. but also for taking his future.
that night before he left he remembered the conversation you two had.
"hey tantan" you said sitting on the futon beside his, his mother had provided you with as you ran the brush through your hair.
"yes ____?" he asked with that sweet and kind voice looking up at you with his soft red eyes full of love and adoration.
"have you ever heard of demons?" you asked pressing your finger against your lips as if you were telling a secret. "demons?" he was confused why were you bringing this up?
"yeah like scary man eaters" you said emphasizing your point by putting your fingers against your head like devil horns,
with a laugh he grabbed your hands and pulled them down to hold them in his.
"no i haven't, why?" he asked curious as to why you would ask.
"no reason, i just heard they're sUper scary" you said emphasizing on the u in super.
"well you don't have to worry because demons arent real, and even if they were..." he trailed off a small blush covering his cheeks as he looked up into your eyes. "..i would make sure to protect you and make sure you didn't get hurt.: he mumbled shyly as you stared at him in awa before you smiled.
"i know!"
"god ____, i'm so sorry" he whispered small tears falling, yet this time there was no one to wipe them.

Chapter Five - I Don't Trust Her.

A/N: This is in Leon's POV so eat it up because this'll happen every once in a blue moon :) @neteyamsmunch <- my favorite girlie Word Count: 2.1 k

——————————————————————————————————
I had tried to open the door that the mysterious woman had went through it was locked but after a couple of beats it was unlocked and I went inside keeping my handgun at the ready, I look over at my shoulder at Kyaire for a moment before going ahead getting a map of the Police Station B1 map. I head back over to her as she leans against the parking garage pillar still, “You doing alright?” I ask her softly, giving her a gentle smile. She seemed as if she was deep in thought, clearly not answering me, for a while and I took that moment to examine her features. Kyaire honestly was gorgeous, I don’t understand how that guy back there was her father. The way she furrowed her brows while she was in thought or fidgeted parts of her clothes when she was anxious. Her tells of her emotions were nearly so easy to see, her hair…locks I think? Looked fresh and brand new but also growing worn from our previous adventures, fighting her father and all. She had the prettiest hazel eyes but they leaned more toward green. I wonder if she got them from her mother, clearly her mother was African-American as she was. Kyaire suddenly snapped me out of my thoughts when she spoke, her eyes trained on me, “I’m fine, Leon. Just wondering if that woman is really a part of the FBI.”
I furrowed my brows confused, “Why wouldn’t she be?” I asked. Kyaire shrugged her shoulders pushing herself off the pillar getting somewhat closer to me and I felt the breath in my throat hitch. Jesus Christ. “I dunno know, just a feeling.” Her eyes examined my face, I felt the heat rise to my face. I blink hard for a long minute, “Alright well, I hope your feeling is…wrong? I think she’s a good person.” Kyaire raised a brow at me, “Uh huh, sure. Let’s just keep going, yeah?” I nod taking her back over to near the location where I got the map and we go down the hall of the jail. Kyaire sniffs and then snorts, “It smells like ass in here.” She whispers and I let out a low chuckle, “Yeah, definitely.” We both warily continue to walk down the jail hall spotting zombies holding onto the bars or just sitting on the floor looking completely out of it.
We find a man stuck inside of a jail cell, “Hello?” He called out to us and we rushed over. “Hey.” I greeted the man with a small smile, Kyaire trailing behind me. I knew she had my back at all times, I could trust her with my life at this point. “I don’t believe it. A real human.” The man stood up from the jail’s cement seat walking over to the bars. He gave a happy smile as if he couldn’t believe it, “Hello, human…Oh? Humans…?” I turned back looking over my shoulder, he clearly spotted Kyaire. Then I turned back to the man, nodding, realizing I needed to ask this man the important questions. Clearly he was in the cell for a reason right? “You been here long?” I ask, raising a kind brow, maybe he locked himself in here to protect himself from the zombies. The man responded enthusiastically, “Long enough. Are we the last ones alive?” I give the man a calm and reassuring smile, “No, no, there’s a few of us.” The man laughed and backed away from the bars, taking a puff from the cigarette I just noticed, I shriveled my nose in disgust while Kyaire walked over silently putting her arm on top of my shoulder but not exactly leaning against me, I look down at her giving her a soft smile which she clearly don’t notice. Which is okay, I don’t even know what would be her reaction to me looking at her like that. The man looks between us giving a weird stare before he speaks again, “Oh…that’s good news, I guess.” I nod giving a short yeah, and the man adds on, “Unless, of course, Irons sent you.” I lean forward a bit, my brows raising, maybe just maybe the chief of police knew what was going on. “Irons…? You mean Chief Irons? Is he still around?” I ask enthusiastically, I hear Kyaire give a snort and I shoot her a look, she stops leaning on me and gives a small shrug. “Chief Irons isn’t exactly…the best around here.” She explained, the man nodded in her direction, “The girl is right. But, who cares. Hopefully, he’s somebody’s dinner by now.” I furrowed my brows even more confused looking between Kyaire and the man.
“What do you mean by that?” I ask clearly wanting answers, because this makes little to no sense why would he? The man answers my question but not the right one, “He’s the bastard who locked me in here.” The man huffed, taking another puff of his cigarette. I narrowed my eyes a bit and nodded, “I’m sure he had a good reason.” I know Kyaire must be giving me a look right now because she grunts, and I know I’ll be in for it after we walk away from him. The man nodded, taking another puff of his cigarette, “He did.” I smirk feeling like for once I was finally right. He throws down his cigarette to the floor and smirks, “I was about to blow the whistle on his dirty ass.” Clearly feeling smug about his findings which I find hard to be true, why would people appoint a dirty cop to be the chief? He adds on, “I’d have done the same thing too, I guess.” Giving a small shrug. All three of us hear a noise down the hall from the jail, I look down and then back to the man and he meets my eyes. “Hey! I’ll make you a deal…” He offers, leaning against the bars again holding out exactly what we needed the parking pass to get out of here, he adds on, “Unlock this cell and I’ll give you this. There’s no other way out of that parking garage! Believe me!” He insists, and I look Kyaire in the eyes and her eyes meet mine. Kyaire nods, and I huff, “Sorry…I can’t do that. I have to talk to the chief first.” Kyaire elbows me in the ribs and I let out a low grunt. “Come on, Ky I can’t let out a guy who's clearly in here for a reason.” She gave me a look of disbelief and argued back, “Clearly he was tossed in here because of Chief Irons being a dirty ass cop!” I shook my head ready to fight back till the man behind the bars interrupted, “Look, we’re all prisoners in this station.” He said clearly motioning to the three of us standing here, Kyaire had her arms crossed clearly upset with me till we heard another noise that was from a zombie.
We both turn taking our weapons out again, then turn back to the man who continues to talk, “So either we play nice and help each other out─” I hear more noises but this time creaking, the man looks absolutely terrified and I whip my head to where he’s looking, Kyaire already has her gun trained ahead of her. I take a breath and the man adds on, “Shit. It’s coming.” He panicked backing up away from the bars. I need answers, and I need them now. I need to keep Kyaire and me safe, I don’t know what I would do if she got hurt even more than she already is. “What─what’s coming?” I shout walking up to the bars grabbing the bars. The man panicked even more, looking between me and the area past me and Kyaire. “C’mon─c’mon, don’t be an asshole…Ok?” He asked and held up the parking pass again, and in that moment I knew he was clearly wrongly imprisoned and Kyaire had been right as always. Fuck. “You need this!” He emphasized backing up to against the wall, “Just get me the fuck outta here!” He shouted at me. Suddenly a large hand bursts through the wall grabbing the man's head dragging up and I took out my gun training it on the large gloved hand, trying to see if I shoot anything beside the man. The man screamed and struggled, Kyaire turned and gasped, my eyes met hers and I could see hers dim a bit more. I felt my heartbreak for her, we looked back at the man who was still screaming, his arms flailing and the gloved hand squoze his head till it popped like a tomato. And then dropped the man's dead body onto the floor, I gasped and Kyaire gagged. I turned and looked at her, she looked away from the man’s dead body and seemed shaken by the scene. “Kyaire…” I whisper softly walking over to her, reaching out to touch her shoulder and she suddenly brushes my hand away. I took a breath knowing she was in shock and needed time. Oh my god…What was that? And what’re we gonna do? I looked at the man’s body for a moment then looked back at Kyaire. I looked at the hole that thing left and heard footsteps coming down the hall. “Who is that!?” I asked, training my gun down the hall and it was the mysterious woman from earlier. She comes into the light, “It’s just me, so you can put that thing away.” I sigh, putting my gun down.
Kyaire sniffled and walked over, standing on the opposite side of me where the woman was. Leaning against me again, I desperately wanted to wrap my arm around her waist, why…Would I wanna do that? Anyway, it doesn't matter. I had to explain the situation to this FBI agent, I sighed again, “I don’t even know what happened─ It just…happened so quick.” The woman leaned against the bars peering into the cell, looking at the man's body. Kyaire took out a breath and leaned against the brick wall near the cell not wanting to look at the man clearly for a good reason. The woman looked at us pointedly, “I told you to get out of here.” She shouted at us and then pointed at Kyaire, “I thought you’d be smarter than him, but clearly not.” I step in front of her pointed finger, “Don’t talk to her like that.” I huffed, and the woman smirked at us, nodding toward the man, “You two wouldn’t wanna end up like Ben, would you?” She added on to her previous statement. I furrow my brows now even more confused than ever, what is going on here?! “You knew him?” I asked softly now, feeling slightly bad for the woman. The woman crossed her arms explaining a bit, “He was an informant. Had information useful to my investigation.” I let out an exasperated breath, “So what he said was true?” I ask and Kyaire lets out an unamused laugh. I turned back to look at her for a moment before the mysterious woman started to walk away again, “Hey, you can’t keep walking away from me!” I gave chase for a moment grabbing her arm and she pulled her arm away, narrowing her eyes at me. “I don’t even know your name!” I huffed trying to at least get more information from her. I decided to give her my name, “...I’m Leon Kennedy.” I said hoping she would also give her’s, she sighed before stepping closer to me, “Find a way out, Leon. Before it’s too late…Then we’ll talk.” She stated, and for some reason the way she said my name sent shivers down my spine. It felt good, a weird kind of good. As she started to walk away she spoke again, “Name’s Ada…” I sighed, looking away from Ada to now…Ben. Knowing we had to get his parking pass to get out of here. Kyaire finally spoke up, “Now I don’t trust her even more.” I blinked and looked at Kyaire shocked, “Why not? She’s giving us more information, Ky…? Give her a chance, please?” I pleaded with her and Kyaire huffed. “Fine.” Stepping away from the brick wall near the cell, and the circuit breaker near it as well. “Well, I guess the deal’s on.” Kyaire murmured. I nodded, giving Kyaire a soft smile, “See I knew you weren’t too emo to give people chances.” She rolled her eyes in response, “Don’t get your hopes up, boy scout.” My face felt hot at the comment. “Yeah, yeah…” I muttered.
We started to walk down the jail hall hopefully going to find something to open Ben’s jail cell and get that parking pass.
These two are starting to grow on me…

{hi gale!! this'll be coming in waves so I don't flood your inbox too hard lmao. anyways part 1}
LORE Gale
What was the inspiration for his blue arc?
How was it putting ocean through every trial imaginable lmao
Not exactly LOREgale but why was Swap!Gale's hell Walmart. secondary why was shell in hell in the first place
At what point did the car dealership/rental service/whatever in Nebraska realize that something was Certainly And Extremely Wrong with Gale
Is he ever able to get therapy
Do you think when it was all calm he got some shitty storemade cake to celebrate
Did you ever want them to Go Insane?
Gale and Acher. can I ask about ocean's thoughts on the strange tiny murderous robot turned silly not-so-murderous robot throughout the arcs
Did anyone from Gale's old town wonder where they went?
Does he ever casually turn into a cat and then both people for a day
Has Gale ever gone to the ocean. because I think shell might like that. what was it like for them during Ocean Trip TM
OH BOY!!!!! MY FAVORITE
- the inspiration was partly inspired by, well, the pawn promotion. by becoming a queen lore gale became much more powerful than acher, and therefore much more dangerous. blue was kind of an improvised decision, as one of the main articles of clothing gale was wearing was . well, blue. so i kind of leaned into that a bit. the other part was well. the magnus archives. i made lore gale's character way more jarchivist coded than i intended so i leaned into it a bit, especially with gale progressively Losing their sense of humanity and their struggle trying to accept it.
- it was very fun lmao. they are my webkinz doll i am soaking with milk and throwing against the wall.
more answers under the cut because this is Long and i have a lot of things to say
- swap!gale's hell is walmart because 1) my partner moth goes there frequently and laments about how much of a labyrinth it is and 2) have you Seen walmart?? also the reason why sale is in hell is. um. fraud?? and also being a willing accomplice in and also enabling some of moth's war crimes.
- probably the moment gale walked into the dealership. they were glowing and sweaty and looked like they just got out of a fight (which they did) and immediately asked for a rental which. uh. definitely set people off. also their fingers were blue.
- maybe! once they are financially capable of it at least.
- probably! it would probably be a time when gale isn't in Stress Baking Mode but also too fatigued to make anything so they just buy a single cake slice and eat that. it tastes terrible but it's probably the most comforting thing they've had in a while
- yes. absolutely. 100%
- okay so i will try to simplify it enough in a way that Makes sense but also gives some insight to their thought process.
> gale under the belief that acher Really Is Moth or close to it and treats them as such, upset that "moth" is not really moth. they are also afraid of her
> they abandon "moth" and cut them off for a brief while, sabotaging its plan
> pure fear. they don't want to die to "moth". they briefly consider murder but quickly write it off
> truce. a calm period where gale thinks there may be a chance of redemption and rekindling
> moth comes back. he takes his eyes off acher and focuses more on shell's friend
> neutral, almost unfamiliar. acher asserts that they don't Actually care about anyone and gale believes them. since the real moth came back they can focus on them instead of the doppelgänger of the friend.
> rocky. they are on uneven ground and since the truce is technically off, it doesn't take much for acher to get on their bad side. this is probably the stage where gale is at their most unstable and willing to hurt back.
> truce, but better. gale hasn't quite forgiven acher yet. they can't. but at the very least they trust him enough to try again.
> trust. acher is a friend. they put their full faith in acher on improving and growing, even if forgiveness is not in sight yet.
- sorta? there were people gale knew before they ran away that considered gale a friend, but not the other way around. some of them think that they probably died, and some of them think they ran away because life was just too hard. their family misses them technically, but they also blame ocean for being so selfish.
- YES. 100%. turns out there are multiple benefits to being a cat. 1. is nobody will question you when you are annoying, because that's Just Cat Things.
- THEY HAVE! gale visited gem's cousin jeremy once or twice. he lives in california with his boyfriend, and they occasionally come by for family reuinions. mostly to see gale. but gale LOVES the ocean. they didn't get to see it much but it's always so big and they don't stop talking about the phenomenon that occurs in the sea.

Aaand the final chapters for this volume. Boy I'm gonna be so sad when the last volume will be finished after next week.
Chapters 7-9 review under the cut.
Chapter 7:
Tumblr media
Personal trainer Razlo!!
Tumblr media
These pages of Razlo lifting Livio up mean so much to me...
Tumblr media
Saving this one for a drawing reference!
Tumblr media
I like this quiet panel of Elendira in front of the bomb...I want to know what is your backstory? What has driven you to be such a devoted servant of Knives and wish for the end of humanity so much?
Tumblr media
This whole fight is soo cool! Wonder if that's Razlo speaking or Livio, cuase it sounds more like Razlo, and I think they are kinda switching back and forth the whole time.
Tumblr media
TO HIMMM AAAAAAAH BUHUHUHUUU (nothing more coherent to add to that)
Chapter 8:
Tumblr media
And that's it! The end of this incredibly cool fight, Elendira deafeated by her own nail!
Tumblr media
You didn't let him down!! :'((( He'd be so proud!
Tumblr media
I love love these panels, with the light coming from below here.
Also, Guernica like the spanish town and the drawing by Picasso? Wonder if there's any reason to that or if it just sounded cool for Nightow.
Tumblr media
Oh, right. I kinda forgot another good reason why Legato hates Vash, which is Vash nearly killed Knives? :D Yeah that might get him a bit worked up.
Tumblr media
I'm feeling a bit sorry for Legato here, because wow Knives, that was uncalled for? He's just worried for you, no need to be mean.
Tumblr media
Phew, badass. Not gonna lie, doing these recaps and reading more has made me interested to dig into some Knives/Legato fanfics. There's a lot of potential for so many interesting ways to go about their relationship! Maybe when I want to get a change to reading my vashwood...
Tumblr media
I thought at first he had been unconscious and his defense mechanism was a reaction of him passing out (you know, like Tessaiga and Inu Yasha in vol...uh 13 I think? Probably made me subconsciously think of that) so it's interesting to see he's still very much conscious, but at this point, no more able to controll his body and all of his plant mechanisms. The way Vash clings to his right arm is maybe him trying to keep his arm from transforming into angel arm?
Tumblr media
Little Vash collection of this spread. I need to safe more Vash faces, been neglecting that too much!
Tumblr media
Uuuh another really awesome spread.
Chapter 9:
Tumblr media
Oof Legato got angeled.
Tumblr media
On my refound mision to save more Vash faces!
Tumblr media
Man I really like Legato as a villain! I mean sure, there are more nuanced villains out there, but in his unhingedness, his very clear motive, his adoration to Knives, and his absolute determination to make life a living hell for Vash, he's so fun to observe! Also curse you for hurting our son and so on.
Tumblr media
And, good that he's happy...I guess?
Tumblr media
Don't look so beautiful when you're crammed in between these Wolfwood panels, Vash, this'll kill me... (I am kinda wondering if it's really him thinking of that time or if it's just plot device for the scene? That would be confusing though, so I guess it's really that Vash is thinking about this now)
Tumblr media
That response by Legato, I really enjoy that story-wise.
Tumblr media
The way he's able to hold his ground against Vash's power is pretty badass! Most of the time he was stuck in some big man-holster so it wouldn't be obvious, but he's actually an impressive fighter!
Tumblr media
But you're still shooting at my baby so I'm not admitting that out loud.
Tumblr media
Kinda reminds you of that scene in the town where Vash and Wolfwood had been driven out, right?
Tumblr media
Turning that around so that Vash's expression is better to see: look how terrified he is that his body's response will kill Legato here!
Tumblr media
Aah and this answers my question in my last post, about how they knew about Vash. Isn't that kinda beautiful how every plant on this planet holds on image of Vash in their mind?
Tumblr media
Uuuh Chronica is out there for revenge for Domina.
Tumblr media
Those two! It's so wonderful seeing them helping out time and time again and just doing their best! Also that panel where they talk about Vash, so cute to see the different impressions he's made on them both! Different things have stuck out for them, which tells a lot about their own characters and their relationship with Vash. The last panel of Meryl thinking of Vash is also very cute! I personally like to think of her feelings towards him as platonic, but in that way, definitely a very strong love and trust for Vash...either way it's beautiful to witness!
Tumblr media
Oh my god, they all believe in him so much...first Wolfwood, then Livio, and Meryl and Milly, too...
Tumblr media
Turned this page around because I had to get a better look....you made him cry!! You made my boy cry!
And, I can post no more pictures but you know Vash just shot down the device.....Sir, not to question your way of fighting, but why would you want to give Legato a last chance to defy you with his full powers? I don't think this is such an excellent idea?
Well, that's vol13 for you. Again, more emotions were gained in this read through, emotions for black-coat Vash and Legato as well!

CHAPTER EIGHT: THE BATHTUB
Tumblr media
After sitting at the police station for a little bit, Joyce and Hopper walked through the door in distress; especially Joyce. "Hey. Jonathan?" she asks him as she walked up to the desk we're sitting at. "Jesus, what... what happened?" she pointed to her son's hands and cuffs.
"I'm fine," Jonathan reassures his mother as the other officer, Powell, tries to talk with her.
"Why is he wearing handcuffs?" she questions the officers, wondering what the hell her son got into. I feel bad for Joyce, she doesn't know about the monster and now this? Unless, she does know about it.. somehow.
"Well, your boy assaulted a police officer. That's why," Callahan explained to her.
"Take them off," Joyce insisted.
"I am afraid I cannot do that," Callahan replied, but Joyce wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"Take them off!" she exclaimed. I smiled at her before looking over to Jonathan who sat back awkwardly.
Hopper spoke up, "You heard her. Take 'em off."
Powell walked up behind me, Nancy, and Jonathan, "Chief, I get everyone's emotional here, but there's something you need to see." The three police officers left the building, only to come back a few minutes later with our supplies in hand. Hopper dropped it on the table, making the three of us nervous.
Joyce sat up from her spot next to Jonathan and looked through the box, "What is this?"
"Why don't you ask your son? We found it in his car," Hopper spoke straight.
"What?" Joyce said in shock.
Jonathan scoffed, "Why are you going through my car?"
"Is that really the question you should be asking right now? I wanna see you in my office," Hopper stated. Uh oh.
"You won't believe me," Jonathan replied and I nodded. He definitely wouldn't believe us if we told him what was actually going on.
Hopper got up close and spoke softly, "Why don't you give me a try?" Oh boy, this'll be interesting.
———
Now all three of us were in Hopper's office, and Joyce and Hopper were sitting in front of us. We sat nervously, Jonathan was biting his nails, Nancy was looking down, and I was drumming my fingers on my chair; a habit that I picked up from Dustin. The police officer was holding a picture, examining it before looking up to us. "You say blood draws this thing?"
"We don't know," I said. We're not for sure, but I think we're right.
"It's just a theory," Nancy spoke up.
Joyce then took Jonathan out of the room to talk, and after a few minutes, Hopper left the room as well, leaving me and Nancy alone. We sat in silence for a moment until I decided to speak up. "So... you and Steve?"
Nancy looked up from her lap with wide eyes, "W-what?! No. Not anymore." I nodded. I was going to speak up, but Hopper opened the door quickly to tell us that we needed to leave. Oh boy.
———
After what felt like the longest car ride ever, we finally made it to the Wheeler's house. Hopper started talking about some girl with a shaved head, and my mind immediately went to El. I hope she's okay, and I hope the boys are okay too. We were parked a little bit away from the house, watching a bunch of people put Mike's stuff in their cars. "I have to go home," Nancy said as she watched the men in suits fill their vehicles with her brother's belongings.
"No you can't," Hopper stated, not looking away from his binoculars.
I pat the girl's shoulder, "My mom.. my dad are there." I frown, I know exactly how she's feeling. My brother is out there somewhere in danger and I have no idea where he is.
"They're gonna be okay," Hopper told her, but Nancy had other plans. She began to walk towards her house, but Hopper grabbed her and stopped her. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!"
She tried to shove him off, "Let go!"
"Hey! Listen to me. Listen to me. The last thing in the world we need is them knowing you're mixed up in all this," the officer told her.
"Mike is over there—" she started. They're probably not over there, luckily. I really hope they're not.
Hop sighed, "They haven't found him. Not yet, at least." He pointed to the helicopter flying in the sky. Oh god.
"For Mike?!" Nancy exclaimed with wide eyes.
Hop tried to lead her over to the car, "Come on, get in the car." The three of us were crammed in the back seat, me sitting in the middle of my ex-best friend and my best friend. As Hopper closed his door, he turned to us, "Look, we need to find them before they do. Do you have any idea where he might have gone?"
Nancy shook her head, "No, I don't."
"I need you to think," the officer told the girl. I might have an idea to where they went, but I'm not for sure. I wouldn't want to lead us to where they might not be.
She shook her head, "I don't know. We haven't talked a lot. I mean, lately..."
Joyce looked at us, "Is there any place that your...your parents don't know about that he might go?"
"I don't know," Nancy said again.
I spoke up, "I might." They all turned to me.
"What?" Hopper asked and I sighed.
"I don't know exactly where he is, but I think I know how to ask him. Wherever Mike is, Dustin has to be with him," I tell them. Of course I'm worried about Mike, Lucas, and El, but I just hope that Dustin is okay and with them.
A bit of driving later, we pull up to The Byers' house and quickly get out of the car. We bolt inside and head directly towards Will's room. Nancy stopped and looked around at the destroyed home in shock. Jonathan was the first to barge into his little brother's room, going straight to the desk. I was right behind him, walking right to Will's nightstand, opening all the drawers and scrambling through them to find his walkie. At first we tried mine, but unfortunately it died because I forgot to change the batteries the night before. Joyce got down on the floor and looked under the bed, "I got it." She shimmied her way from the bed. Jonathan and I stopped searching for the found item, turning to Joyce as she stood up.
———
"Mike, are you there? Mike? Mike, are you there? Answer. Mike, we need you to answer. This is an emergency, Mike. Do you copy? Mike, do you copy? I need you to answer," Nancy pleaded over the walkie. The five of us are now sat in the Byers' living room, nervous if the boys are going to answer or not.
After a couple of minutes of no answer, Hopper grabbed the walkie from Nancy's hands, "Listen, kid, this is the chief. If you're there, pick up. We know you're in trouble and we know about the girl. We can protect you, we can help you, but you gotta pick up. Are you there? Do you copy? Over." There was still silence from the other side of the walkie. Gosh I hope they're okay. Hopper sat the walkie on the shelf near him and turned to us, "Got any other ideas?" He asked, but we all shook our heads.
"Yeah, I copy. It's Mike. I'm here. We're here," Mike's voice said. All of our eyes lit up, they're okay, and now we can go find them.
———
Hopper dropped me, Jonathan, Nancy, and Joyce off at the woman's home, telling us that he'll bring the kids back safely. Nancy and I had persisted that we went with him, but he made us stay back.
It was now dark, and all four of us were sitting on the couch waiting. My knee kept bouncing, but luckily we didn't have to wait anymore because bright lights came through the window. We all got up quickly and scrambled out of the door. "Dustin!" I exclaimed as the sight of my little brother came to view. He looked over and ran over to me, engulfing me in a tight hug. I hugged him back, thankful that he was safe.
"Mike. Oh, my God. Mike!" Nancy exclaimed, giving her little brother a tight hug as well. "I was so worried about you." They pulled away, but Nancy still had her hands on his shoulders.
"Yeah, uh, me too," Mike said awkwardly, not used to his older sister acting like this. The older Wheeler girl then looked over to El with an eyebrow raised.
"Is that my dress?" She asked and we all looked over to El.
After our reunion, we all sat in the living room while Mike explained the flea and acrobat metaphor. "Okay, so, in this example, we're the acrobat. Will and Barbara, and that monster, they're this flea." Mike pointed to the flea with the pen he was holding. "And this is the Upside Down, where Will is hiding. Mr. Clarke said the only way to get there is through a rip of time and space."
"A gate," Dustin said.
"That we tracked to Hawkins Lab," Lucas spoke after Dustin.
"With our compasses," I told them, adding onto what the boys were saying. They all looked confused, so I tried to explain to them as best as I could. "Okay, so the gate has a really stringe electromagnetic field, and that can change the directions of a compass needle."
"Is this gate underground?" Hopper asked, making us all look over to him.
"Yes," El said quietly.
"Near a large water tank?" Hopper asked again, seeming like he knew what we were talking about.
El nodded slightly, "Yes."
"H-How do you know all that?" Dustin asked the chief with a slight stutter.
"He's seen it," Mike stated in realization and our eyes widen.
Joyce spoke up, "Is there any way that you could... that you could reach Will? That you could talk to him in this—" She started, but El interrupted her.
"The Upside Down," she said.
"Down—yeah," Joyce whispered.
"And my friend Barbara? Can you find her, too?" Nancy asked the girl, who looked at her.
We then found ourselves at the kitchen table, and El was trying to reach Barbara and Will. There were two pictures of them on the table, and static noise filled the room. The small girl sat in a chair while the rest of us stood up around the table. The lights started to flicker, and El then opened her eyes. She sat there in silence for a moment while we all looked at her. "I'm sorry," she whispered quietly.
"W-what—What's wrong? What happened?" Joyce stuttered.
"I can't find them," El said, her voice breaking. My heart broke for the girl, and also the news. She then went to the bathroom to cool off, and we all waited.
"Whenever she uses her powers, she gets weak," Mike explained to everyone.
"The more energy she uses, the more tired she gets," Dustin said along with Mike.
"Like, she flipped the van earlier," Lucas said.
Dustin smiled, "It was awesome."
"But she's drained," Lucas stated.
"Like a bad battery," I said and Joyce sighed.
"Well... H-H-How do we make her better?" she asked, hoping that there would be a way.
"We don't. We just have to wait and try again," Mike said, but everyone else sighed.
"Well, how long?" Nancy asked impatiently.
"I don't know," Mike shrugged sadly.
"The bath," we heard a quiet voice from behind us. We all looked over to see El standing there.
"What?" Joyce questions the girl in confusion.
"I can find them. In the bath," El said, making us all look at each other.
A little while later, we decided it would be best to call Mr. Clarke, who would definitely know what to do. "Mr. Clarke? It's Dustin," my brother said over to phone to his science teacher. I feel bad that we have to call him this late at night, but we don't have another choice. "Yeah, yeah. I just, I... I have a science question.." He paused, letting the teacher talk for a moment. "Do you know anything about sensory deprivation tanks? Specifically how to build one?" He paused for another second, "Fun.." All of us watched as my little brother talked on the phone, hoping that Mr. Clarke would give us answers. "You always say we should never stop being curious. To always open any curiosity door we find. Why are you keeping this curiosity door locked?" He stopped for a moment before grabbing a small notepad and a pencil. "Uh-huh. Uh-huh. How much?" He wrote down ingredients for the deprivation tank on the notepad. "Uh-huh. Yep, Alright. Yeah, we'll be careful. Definitely. All right, Mr. Clarke. Yeah, I'll see you on Monday. I'll see you on Monday, Mr. Clarke. Bye," he said, finishing up his notes and hanging up the phone. "Do you still have that kiddie pool we bobbed for apples in?" Dustin asked Joyce.
She looked at him in confusion, "I think so. Yeah."
"Good. Then we just need salt. Lord of it," Dustin said.
"How much is 'lots'?" Hopper asked my brother, who looked down at his notepad before looking back up at the chief.
"1,500 pounds," he said and all of our eyes go wide.
"Well, where are we gonna get that much salt?" Nancy asked, shocked as to how much you need for this tank.
We then found ourselves driving to Hawkins Middle, pulling up in front of the gym. We got out of the car, and quickly made our way inside to set up. Lucas, Dustin and I went in the gym and started to set up the kiddie pool. I was carrying the pool, and to be honest, it was pretty heavy. "This damn thing is heavy," I said with a grunt before setting it down on the ground. We then started to open it up, but it was being very difficult.
"Son of a bitch!" Dustin exclaimed as one side kept falling over. I groaned at the dumb kiddie pool, and Lucas grabbed one side of it.
"Pull it back. Pull it back," he said, and we grabbed the other sides as well.
"We are!" Dustin said.
"One, two, three," Lucas said before we all tried to pull it out and lay it down. "Shit!" Dustin exclaimed at the stupid thing. I grunted at the pool as well, feeling fed up with it.
Nancy and Mike then came in with hoses a bit after we tried to hold up the pool. Mike set the hoses in the pool and it started to fill up, "Colder!" Lucas yelled to Nancy while holding a thermostat in the water. "Warmer!" Lucas yelled again to Nancy, who was controlling the water temperature. "Right there!" Lucas yelled to her one last time.
Jonathan and Hopper then walked in with a bunch of salt, beginning to pour it into the water. After pouring some in, Dustin got an egg carton out so we could see if it was enough salt. The egg should've floated, but there wasn't enough salt. The boys and I groaned in disappointment while we watched the egg sink to the bottom. Jonathan and Hopper got more salt and added it to the water, and luckily, it made the egg float. Dustin smiled to himself and the boys punched his arms lightly with smiles on their faces as well. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and hugged him, feeling proud.
Mike got out his walkie, setting it on a table next to the pool. He turned it on, the sound of static filling the room quickly. El put on the goggles that Joyce had made her before stepping into the pool and lying back. The lights flickered for a moment before turning off completely. We all looked at each other before looking back at El. "Barbara?" she said out loud, making us all perk up. The lights then began to flicker, looking like they're pulsating before turning off again.
"What's going on?" Nancy asked looking around.
Mike shrugged, "I don't know."
Nancy began to panic, "Is Barb okay? Is she okay?" She asked the girl, fear spreading all over her face.
"Gone. Gone. Gone," El kept repeating in fear. Nancy held a hand up to her mouth as she started to cry. I frowned at her, feeling her pain of losing her best friend. It's like you lost half of yourself, and you couldn't do anything to stop it. Joyce starts to reassure El, but she was still freaking out. "Gone!" She screamed, but Joyce was quick to her side.
"It's okay we're right here. We're right here, honey. It's okay. I got you," Joyce said as she grabbed one of her hands. "Don't be afraid. I'm right here with you. It's okay. It's okay, you're safe." She kept on reassuring her, and she calmed down.
"Castle Byers?" El said, making Joyce look over to Jonathan. "Will?" she said again, making Joyce gasp. A small gasp also left my lips as I watched the girl, hoping for her to say something else.
"You tell him... tell him I'm coming. Mom is coming," Joyce told El.
Everything was silent for a moment until a faint, familiar voice came from the walkie. "Hurry." It was Will.
"Okay. Listen, you tell him to-to stay where he is. We're coming. We're coming, okay? We're coming, honey," Joyce said, tears in her eyes. The boys and I look at each other before looking back at El. Then we started to hear whimpering on the radio before the girl shot up from the water with a gasp. She took off the goggles and was breathing heavy. "I got you. It's okay. I got you. I got you," Joyce told her softly, wrapping her arms around her shivering body.
A little bit later, the boys and I sat around El, who had a towel around her. I had got her one before she stepped in the pool so she would have something to warm her up afterwards. Hopper, Joyce, Jonathan were standing up talking. "So this fort. Where is it?" Hopper asked while putting on his jacket.
"U-uh, it's in the woods behind our house," Joyce said.
"Yeah, he used to go there to hide," Jonathan nodded. Hopper then began to walk away, but the Byers followed him to his car. I rubbed El's arms to try and warm her up, but I noticed that Nancy wasn't here at all.
I stopped rubbing her shoulders, "I'm gonna go find Nancy. You guys keep her warm and safe, all right?" I stood up from the bleachers and they nodded to me. I then looked over to El and smiled at her before walking away. I wandered down the halls for a minute, but I eventually found Nancy and Jonathan sitting next to each other on the ground in silence. I sat next to Nancy, hugging my knees to my chest while also sitting in silence.
"We have to go back to the station," Nancy spoke up. Jonathan and I give her a confused look.
"What?" I asked her.
"Your mom and Hopper are just walking in there like bait. That thing is still in there. And we can't just sit here and let it get them, too. We can't," she said, making a good point.
Jonathan sighed, "You still wanna try it out?"
"I wanna finish what we started. I want to kill it," she said looking at the two of us. I nodded along with her. I wanted to kill this thing too.
Without telling the kids, we left the school and drove to the police station to get our supplies we had gotten a earlier. Once we got there, we snuck in quietly, trying to grab attention to ourselves while we walked by an officer watching TV. As the three of us reach Hopper's office, Jonathan goes in and grabs the box of monster hunting supplies. He quickly rushes out and Nancy grabs a fire extinguisher before we all get out of the station to kill this thing.

Dear Zombie! Please tell me about that time Rebecca and I went to the old hospital to loot retrieve whatever was left of value, and to ensure that no evidence remains linking me to the piles of corpses all over the place... Yours, Robbie
Okay, let's see what happens. I'm shifting the narration this time, so bear with me.
-
Robert felt something like his old self, which was unpleasant. Being back at the hospital was unpleasant. Navigating through the grime and graffiti encrusted bowels of the derelict building was unpleasant, mostly due to the ease with which he found his was after all this time. The summer heat and humidity was just starting to settle over New Orleans. The night offered a bit of relief, but the night also offered shadows, and feelings. Which were unpleasant.
Rebecca waved a hand in front of his face. "Yo, you with me?"
They were wearing thick coveralls and gloves and boots and goggles and respirator masks and looked for all intents and purposes like they were at the site to conduct some manner of architectural integrity survey, or to possibly start their own version of one of those renovations shows. There's no abandoned hospital renovation shows yet. Untapped market.
They did not arrive to renovate. They arrived to raze.
Rebecca handed Robert a flashlight. He had an empty backpack to stuff with whatever he thought would have resale value, and Rebecca spread out a tarp so anything that wouldn't fit in the bag could be dragged back outside to the rented U-Haul. "This'll work," she insisted. "You still have your creepy bug powers, right? So you can drag shit, easy." She dropped her backpack by the tarp. It was full of all sorts of fun arson material.
Robert was not really listening. He was trying to not focus too hard on where he was and what the place represented to him. He went as if in a trance back to the far corner he had established as his living space and wondered if anything was worth saving. Robert heard Rebecca exclaim at the corpse piles and he explained in a detached tone, "oh yes, the pile in the back is the empties. The stack nearer the throne were, um, half-empty." The blood trail that indicated where he had dragged the half-drained bodies to the pile of fully-drained bodies was still there on the cracked tiles, a deep stain. The 'empties' were at further stages of decay, the oldest liquifying; no amount of air fresheners strung about them was going to cover that stench. The odor clawed at their respirators and Rebecca said something about "way worse."
They harvested what they could, what had not been feasted upon by insects and vermin, what had not been vandalised and broken. Robert grabbed every painting he could. "I don't think the art itself is worth anything, but the frames have real gold inlay, so. That's something." He grabbed his old sewing box too- it was just practical. He had collected so much floss and thread and needles over the decades...
"Hey, uh, should we take the taxidermy stuff? I mean I don't like taxidermy, much, but..." Rebecca shined her flashlight on the albino fox. "I really like this one."
Robert liked it, too. He moved it and the French table it was on over to the tarp.
"Is that worth anything?" Rebecca asked, shining her flashlight on the Dracula coat of arms that Robert had dragged from hideout to hideout over the past century. He shook his head and chuckled. "No, and in fact, I say we start the fire using that. It'll be poetic, somehow."
Rebecca can't reach the fraying ends so Robert reached up and yanked the tapestry down, and let it fall unceremoniously to the ground. He gave it a little kick for good measure.
After a few hours of loot- er, on-site appraisal, the two were satisfied. The tarp was full of fancy things that could be handed off to a fence- things like oil paintings with golden frames and golden candlesticks and velvet curtains and first edition books from the 18th century and pretentious necklaces and brooches and bracelets. Maneuvering the furniture out could be done with Rebecca's "dragging shit" technology but it would take more trips. Oh well. Each trip out to the truck was one step closer to being rid of ... well, everything.
Dawn was breaking when Robert did a final sweep. He had taken everything that had monetary value, and a scant few keepsakes- the sewing box, the record player, a few rings. He had considered taking a cape home. Woudl that really be so weird? He had mended it many times over the century, each time wondering why Dracula wouldn't just throw it out. Maybe it was sentimental.
Robert retrieved a multitool from Rebecca's bag as she started pouring lighter fluid and tossing about rags soaked in linseed oil. He flipped the knife out and sliced a part of the cape off and shoved it in his bag. There. Easier to discard a small piece later on if it bothered him.
"So you're sure this will work?" Robert asked. Rebecca managed to give him a look through the mask and goggles. "Yes, dude. We're burning down an abandoned building that no one in their right mind would want to try an' rehab. No one's gonna be scouring the ashes for, for evidence of a crime, and even if this doesn't take down the whole building, like I said, no one's gonna care enough to investigate. They'll chalk it up to teens or lightning or bad wiring or something."
She pulled out a ziploc bag of flour and started pouring a trail. "Not a protection circle," she said. "Ignition trail. I'm hoping, anyway. Flour's supposed to be super flammable."
"Ah, well," Robert said, "if it doesn't work, then this whole night was for naught." A pause. "I'm kidding, we can just do the glass bottle and rag thing."
"A Molotov cocktail? With how much gas costs?"
Robert fidgeted. "I'll pay you back. Obviously."
The two decided to test the flour's ability to carry a flame and then decided like hell either of them was going to carefully and meticulously pour a trail all the way from the throne room to the entrance. So Rebecca tossed Robert a box of matches. He stood before the fallen Dracula tapestry, now damp with lighter fluid.
He struck a match.
"You'd think I'd have something clever to say," he said quietly. "I don't. He's gone, and now the last lingering pieces are going, too."
He dropped the match.
They were back in the U-Haul when the fire started climbing up the dead and rotting vines that lined the ceiling of the throne room.
The sun was rising in front of them as they drove away. In the passenger side mirror, Robert could see the orange and red of the fire. A different sort of sunrise, he mused.

Haven't written anything in a stupidly long time, so here's an excerpt from one thing I'm writing for spoopy season. I have my actual Halloween day fic but this is a little extra, as a treat since its that time of year lol. It's Reno and Rude on a job in one of Hojo's creepy, out of commission labs...and they're about to find out why its out of commission.
XXX
“Look man,” Reno took a slow, shaky breath, “I ain't afraid of much but...” He swallowed, throat suddenly as dry as the Corel desert, “But...” He repeated, laying delicate stress on the word with a small wince, “Whatever the hell Hojo's been up to down there, I don't wanna know.” Rude watched his partner; tense shoulders, pale face, narrowed eyes, “Orders from up top.” He said, frowning at the large metal doors they stood in front of. “Orders. Right.” Reno licked his lips, sucked the bottom one between his teeth and stared at those doors like they were going to open up and swallow him whole. “So...uh...you gonna open 'em?” He tried, fidgeting with his EMR inside his left pocket, he glanced at his partner who shrugged. “You want me to?” “No.” Reno sneered, it fell quickly from his face, “But...” “Orders.” “From up top.” Reno sighed, the air escaping his lungs coming out more like a wheeze. “Ready?” “Nope.” Reno rubbed at his face, cursing himself under his breath, “Ok. Ok. We got this, yo. It's nothin'. We've faced down monsters, humans and everythin'...this'll be easy.” Rude's frown tightened but finally he stepped towards the electronic panel, he hesitated only briefly before hitting the numbers for the passcode they had been given. Behind him, Reno muttered something about Hojo but Rude wasn't paying much attention as the keypad blinked green and the massive metal doors started to open. “Easy. So far, so good.” Reno cleared his throat, frowning at the darkness yawning before him like the jaws of a starving beast. “Great. Right, let's do this...” He didn't move from where he stood. Rude sighed and made the first move. He stepped into the shadow of the doorway and into the entrance of the old lab. Outside Reno let out a small moan and followed. Rude pulled out a pocket sized torch and turned it on. Slowly he shone the light around, looking for a light switch or circuit box. Reno stood much too close, their elbows bumping together. The sound of their breathing felt too loud in the eerie silence. “So...how many kids've got lost down here?” “Hojo reckons ten or more.” Rude replied coolly. “Oh good.” Reno's voice broke a little on his sarcasm and he winced. “Let's hurry this up, man. It's damn cold. “Yeah...” Rude frowned, approaching a large box attached to a nearby wall, he inspected the signs and symbols on it before opening it with a rusty creak. “Shit. Lights are fucked.” He stared at the blackened plastic and rusted metal, wires of various colours spilled out of holes torn into the casing. “Great. Flash lights it is.” Reno groaned, shivering in the frozen silence. His eyes darted around as he pulled out his own little torch and pressed the button. Light spilled across the tiled floors, sliding over large, rusty metal contraptions, old safety gear and shattered glass. “What the hell happened here, yo?” Rude couldn't answer, he hadn't liked the smug look on Hojo's face as he'd handed them this job. He didn't like any jobs he got from the professor but this one was beginning to look like it was going to top Rude's mental list of Worst Jobs Ever. The lack of any real intelligence was beginning to feel more like a deliberate omission rather than genuine ignorance, he wondered if Hojo was somehow watching them through the defunct cameras scattering the facility. He wouldn't put it past the creep. “Any mention of dangerous chemicals?” Reno asked, his light lingering on a barrel bearing a bright yellow symbol. The top was rusted open and some sort of sticky, yellow-green fluid was leaking across the floor. “No...” Rude eyed the fluid warily, “Just don't touch anything.” Reno shot Rude a look, “Noted.” He said dryly.

(Fake ASMR Script) Urban Giantess [Part 2]
------------------------------------------------------------
*city & traffic noises*
"Hm? Oh hey. It's you. I was wondering when we'd meet again. Didn't think you'd make me wait so long."
"..."
"Ah right. It's probably uncomfortable for you to tilt your head so far back just to talk to me. Here, hop aboard the hand elevator. I'm sure you'll find it comfy."
"..."
"There we go. Last time we met, I put you on the roof of a building, but now I just want to keep holding you."
"..."
"Yeah, about that. I've been getting over my fear of holding people. I got myself worked up for no reason. It's not even like it's all that scary. What's the worst that'll happen? It's not like I'm gripping them or anything. And I'm certainly not so careless as to drop them by accident."
"..."
"Oh yeah. Speaking of... The law enforcement around here have recently started telling people 'Don't Harass The Giantess'. I guess they realized that I was getting too much unwanted attention. They've also established a no-fly zone around me. So hopefully no more helicopters will get caught in my hair. Those things are a pain to dig out.
"..."
"You have something to ask me. Well, don't be shy. What is it?"
"..."
"Wha-...! A date? Really? Wow, uh... Jeez, so sudden. I wasn't expecting that."
"..."
"Oh no. Don't worry one bit. That's really sweet. I'll totally go on a date with you. But... There's just one problem. I'm a behemoth. I don't know where we could go or how this'll work."
"..."
"You know a rooftop restaurant. Well, that's convenient. I assume that it must be open to the sky, right?"
"..."
"Really... Well then. Show me the way. The night is young. Let's make the most of it."
..........
*casual restaurant music playing quietly in the background*
"Wow, you weren't kidding. This place is perfect for someone like me. The roof is at level with my face. You chose the best spot for our date."
"Aaaaand everyone is staring at me. Suppose I can't blame them. I'd probably do the same."
"..."
"Just act natural. Alright, I'll try my best."
"Ooh, hey. A waiter is already here."
"Oh My God, the look on their face is priceless. I think I'm starting to enjoy watching people's reactions to seeing to me. It's humorous."
"..."
"Hello. Uh, yes. I'm ready to order. Um... I hope it's not too much to ask, but... Can I just get one of everything on the menu? I have the money for it."
"..."
"It'll take some time. That's okay. I'll be patient. Thanks."
"..."
"This is gonna be long night. I can feel it."
"So... While we wait for our food, would you be interested in hearing about some of my new gigs?"
"..."
"Well of course, silly. If fate has decided that I'm going to be this big, I'm not just gonna sit around & do nothing. I need to occupy my time with things to do. Volunteer work. I already possess a fortune."
"I guess I'll start with Gulliver Engineering since they're the reason I got into this mess in the first place. They recently got back to me & said that they're trying to rebuild the size ray. And they promised that it wouldn't malfunction this time. I certainly hope they're right about that. God, can you imagine if I grew even bigger? I could potentially wave to people inside passenger planes flying at cruising altitude. And I certainly wouldn't be able to fit in the city anymore. I think that's what one would call a mega giantess. Here's hoping that doesn't happen."
"As far as volunteer work is concerned, I got a job as a construction worker. Turns out, the demolition team doesn't need to waste money on explosives when they have a giant woman to tear down buildings for them. And it's not like they need cranes anymore either. I can do all the heavy lifting myself. It's actually really fun. It's like playing with Legos, but with real buildings. It's so cool!"
"I also got a job as a firefighter. Rescuing people is super easy. All I have to do is wait by the windows to see if anyone needs to make a jump for it & when they do, they'll just land directly onto the palm of my hand. It's really gratifying."
"And now... My favorite gig. So you know how the last time we met, I joked about starring as a kaiju in the next Godzilla film? Well, as it turns out, that's not actually a joke anymore. The studio making the film wanted to add a humanoid-looking kaiju to the Godzilla universe since that concept hasn't been explored yet. As soon as they caught wind of my existence, they rang me up & asked if I wanted to play the role."
"Naturally, I accepted. The character's name is 'Cosmic Goddess Malzenia; The Sunbreaker'. Apparently, I'm the main antagonist. My goal is to destroy humanity so I may turn Earth into my own personal paradise. Sounds pretty metal. Although as big as I am, they're still gonna need to use CGI to make even appropriately big enough for the role. Even at this size, I'm still only about half as tall as Godzilla. What a monster."
"Ooh! There's our food. That didn't take as long as I thought it would."
"Good Lord, that's a lot of carts. Wow. I have no idea how I'm gonna eat all this. You know... Without breaking the dishes. I didn't really think about this."
"..."
"No, It's fine. I just gotta... Figure it out."
*music fades out*
..........
"Well that was fun. I really enjoyed my time with you tonight. We should do that again sometime."
"..."
"Feeling's mutual. I'm not ready for this date to end quite yet either. Here's an idea. How about I hold you as high as I can?"
"..."
"To get a great view of the city of course. Come on. It'll be cool. What do you say?"
"..."
"That's the spirit. Now hold on tight, cuz you're going for a ride."
"..."
"Enjoy the view while you can. This is how I see the world. Maybe it isn't so bad being this big. There's some perks to it. Since I started volunteer working, I've been enjoying life. I could get used to this."
"..."
"It's really late. I should probably go sleep now. Fortunately, the city park has a wide open space for me to lay down in. I don't know where else I'd be able to crash without it."
"..."
"No, I don't get cold at night. At least I haven't yet. It's Summer right now. Not sure what I'm gonna do when Autumn or Winter rolls around. Hopefully, the size ray will have been remade by then."
"Who knows? Maybe the next time we meet, I'll be normal sized."
"..."
"Yeah, good point. Such an advanced piece of tech won't be built in a day or even a week. I expect that I'll have to live at this size for at least another few months. Might as well get used to it."
"Anyway, I'll put you down now. I hope we meet again soon. I had fun tonight."

He knows he should be concerned, but he isn't
Finally
Yeah, okay

One Piece - Volume 32
As you may have noticed, my consistent-posts-throughout-all-of-December have been called off. My friends have told me that I should take as long as I need to get back to posting, and that's a great idea.
I have a funnier idea:
I'm gonna see if I can post normally on December 24th and 25th, then go back to not-posting on December 26th. Will I manage it? Hmm... I wonder...
Chapter 296 - Ultimate Sky Situation
Zoro obeys Lufpy just in time to die, but he wasn't obedient enough, because gravity doesn't work.
It's fine though, because the vore snake is still relevant after all, because it had friends. Hmm... an animal that had friends... where have I heard that before... well, it didn't have friends enough, because gravity doesn't work.
It's fine though, because Usopp decides to also obey Lufpy, by disobeying Wiper. Nico Robin explains to Wiper that this is morally correct. Except Usopp wasn't disobedient enough, because gravity doesn't work. I thought better of you, Usopp.
It's fine though, because Wiper had a recording of gravity working.
Tumblr media
Danganronpa really IS a One Piece ripoff! In case that wasn't already thoroughly established.
The foolish Dumbledore expy isn't a Danganronpa fan.
Chapter 297 - Praise of the Earth
Tumblr media
Hmm... very on-the-nose.
Wiper says that no matter how much destruction happens, his people's history simply cannot be erased. Epic
The foolish Dumbledore expy realizes that Lufpy and Nami are members of all life on earth, and are therefore susceptible to his all life on earth ball, so he decides to go ahead and use it.
Lufpy counters with the very same special fetish move the foolish Dumbledore expy gave him: Sexy human testicle.
Tumblr media
:) Themes Themes Themes
Next, something even more blatant happens. But I already smiled once just now, so I've hit my smiling quota and can't say anything about it.
Chapter 298 - Love Song
Now that he no longer has access to all life on earth, the foolish Dumbledore expy tries a new strategy: Becoming even less effective against Lufpy! This'll definitely work!
It DOES work! You see, becoming less effective was a distraction from the fact that he could use stabbing as an attack.
Lufpy decides to not give up. In fact, Lufpy does the thing: He rings the bell. I, uh, don't think I mentioned previously in these posts that that was what he was trying to do, but it was.
Chapter 299 - Fantasia
Everyone is happy that this happened. Well, Tony Tony Chopper is missing crucial context, and last chapter Sanji was complaining, but it's fine.
Whoops, I accidentally summarized the entire chapter. I could say something like "To be clear, 'everyone' includes:" and list various individuals, but like
Oh, I spoke too soon: Exposition reveals that the giant silhouettes were the shadows of regular-sized people. In case anyone was still wondering about that. I certainly wasn't after a multi-day break! Thanks for reminding me!
Oh man, the Hanukkah-themed JoJo character... when he was like "I must find a way out of this!!!" and then Tony Tony Chopper just went ahead and moved on with his life, that was actually just his (Hanukkah's) last moments of relevance weren't they? Comedy gold?
I ask because the foolish Dumbledore expy is also drowning, now.
Chapter 300 - Symphony
Tumblr media
Oh man, yeah, the stakes have raised so much, even specifically for Asia, from the days when Wiper not letting Asia have some dirt mattered at all in the grand scheme of things.
Tony Tony Chopper is still missing crucial context and Sanji is still complaining. At least Zoro is around, to Get It.
Everyone discusses what souvenirs they want. Some people want recording device souvenirs. Other people want souvenirs that don't exist.
Tumblr media
Sanji has a new sexual orientation. He no longer lusts after women. He now lusts after big sacks. Finally, some representation, for um, that, sexual orientation!
Everyone is sad that Papaya is dead, especially Papaya! Everyone is mad that Papaya is alive, making Papaya even more sad! Sucks to be him!
Oh, the foolish Dumbledore expy's four friends actually have four corpses. All's well that ends well. As for the foolish Dumbledore expy himself, well... he's an astronaut. Wow, One Piece was truly ahead of its time. People with god complexes really DO sit upon unfathomable amounts of money and then go to space! Oda knew!!!
Also, there's more fire. This is a clever callback to earlier on, where there was fire!
Chapter 301 - I Hereby Guide...
Lufpy has a get-rich-quick scheme.
IT INVOLVES STEALTH!!!
Usopp gives people garbage in exchange for recording devices. Now, recording devices can be a major aspect of the series! However, garbage can't be. This will ruin the Space Junk Galaxy ecosystem! Everything good comes at a cost...
Lufpy's get-rich-quick scheme was vore, naturally. What other kind of get-rich-quick scheme would Lufpy have?
Nico Robin impresses everyone with her Indiana Jones powers.
Tumblr media
What a good sequence of panels. I loven't weaponry! What a relatable character! That must be why people love Nico Robin: she's relatable!
Also, the king of pirates was also there. The One Piece guy. No not Lufpy. The One Piece guy.
Nico Robin is taking the Bible to the end of Space Junk Galaxy. That's her mission. Everyone is very happy about that. Wait, did I call it the Bible before? I need a refresher. Maybe between the 26th and my earnest return I'll spend time on a refresher for myself.
Oh, right, having the middle name "the" is actually very significant. And in the One Piece guy's case, his name as it is commonly known is actually a mispronunciation of Goal the Roper.
Everyone takes a page out of Nami's book even though only one of them is Nami, and they all busy themselves entirely too much with stealing money to have any time in their schedules for receiving money legally as payment for a service. Nico Robin likes this!
Chapter 302 - Finale
Asia gets a haircut.
The knight god gets to be a government guy again. He reminds everyone what his favorite vegetable is, in case they forgot. Hee hee hee... however, try as you might to discern the identity of his favorite vegetable via my posts, you NEVER will! You'll NEVER learn it!!!
Lufpy and his friends leave using a hot air balloon. Zoro thinks the hot air balloon is his enemy from back before they even went into the Space Junk Galaxy, but Zoro was just confused.
Chapter 303 - The Wealthy Pirate Gang
The DK Crew will continue to fight... in the name... of, um, bananas? I don't know. I don't know what they're fighting for.
One of the seven strong guys is terrorizing those people Lufpy disliked ages ago.
Tumblr media
LMAO???
The implication that Zoro spent that entire arc telling himself "Okay, so this is what the afterlife'll be, huh? This particular physical location? I can't wait!" is already hilarious enough, but Usopp's objection to this sentiment being "No, dude, you're destined for eternal torment" adds something as well.
So... Lufpy can never go to the sky EVER again, right? Narratively speaking, I mean. Like... as far as Sky Arcs go, One Piece can't top this, right? I could picture there being a better food arc, a better fish arc, a better snow arc, a better desert arc... but a better sky arc? I dunno, man. I don't think it can be done.
No one bothers to deliver the punchline to Tony Tony Chopper's "where's a doctor when you need one?!" bit, so he has to do it himself. Is that character development? I can't tell.
Nami gets to be a jetski character for the rest of time now, huh? Kind of like... uh, I have no idea how pertinent it is to Dragon Ball itself, and if I ever did I've long since forgotten, but kind of like that one Dragon Ball opening, right?
Nami says "It's time to do some accounting work! It's not time to do some accounting work!"
Lufpy says the next arc should be about recruiting TWO characters to make up for the fact that this one wasn't about recruiting any. They should be an Usopp Replacement and a musician. No one agrees. They don't like Usopp, but they don't like music either.
Bicycle cops are revealed to be the strongest kind of cop.
Chapter 304 - Long Island Adventure
The Depression Pirates are approaching. Their boat has a frog face. Well, so much for them.
Nico Robin doesn't have much to say about the transition to a new arc. Lufpy wants her to be more interesting.
Everyone decides to "boy who cried wolf" Usopp. "Depression definitely isn't real," they say. I'm sure he'll forgive them. He's used to being boy who cried wolfed, after all.
OH...! IS THIS WHOLE ARC GOING TO BE THE DEFORESTATION ARC?! GIVEN THE IMPORTANCE OF DEFORESTATION, THAT'S A LEGENDARY EVENT!
Maybe not, maybe this isn't the arc
This is the homeland of Endermen from Minecraft, that's not arc material
Also, there's a normal guy. And now a ship wearing a fursuit REALLY wants this to be an arc. They're preventing it from lasting a shorter amount of time than one single chapter.
Chapter 305 - Foxy the Silver Fox
Tumblr media
Relatable
Tumblr media
This is a good manga.
This random socially awkward guy from the homeland of Endermen is a laugh riot. He will most likely die.
Tumblr media
See? It's canon. Um, not the part about him dying. The other part.
Tumblr media
Literally any method of encoding secret messages would work for espionage if it was up against the crew of the Merry Go. Pig latin would work.
...Wait, that's not true, Nico Robin is there. Welp, better get rid of her.
Tumblr media
OH, AN ANIMAL THAT HAD A FRIEND AND SPENT A LONG TIME WAITING, HUH?! IN ONE PIECE?! MAJOR PLOT TWIST!!!
"Saddest episode of Futurama"? More like "any chapter of One Piece"
Anyway, some horse hunters come to make this chapter of One Piece less sad. However, they do it backwards. It's fine though, because Tony Tony Chopper does it frontwards.
The horse hunters challenge Lufpy to a game. Lufpy says "Punching? Okay" but what's actually happening is that it's the Depression Game.

Chapter 12: Reckless
Life is kinda boring now, if I'm being honest. Rose has gone back to the military base near Calamari County, there’s no missing artifacts or assassins to worry about, it’s just me and grandma, chillin' on an early weekend morning.
Oh, yeah, there’s that pink ball thing too, I guess. Still not entirely sure what’s up with that, but I can at least confirm that it not only isn't hostile, but also that it likes to sleep even more than I do. "C'mon, up and at 'em." I say, nudging it with my foot. It somehow managed to fall asleep on the cold hardwood floor of my bedroom, and it even got a sleeping cap from who-knows-where. Groggily, it turns to look at me, and I smile a little. "Come on buddy, rise and shine." It takes off the sleeping cap and stretches, babbling similarly to a baby whilst doing so.
I pick it up and head down to the kitchen to make some breakfast for the both of us. Grandma's already awake watching TV, so I say my hellos to her along the way. "Mornin', Nana!" I say, giving her a hug. "Good morning, Scarlet!" She kisses me on the forehead, gives me a quick noogie, and sends me back on my way. In the kitchen, I whip up a couple bowls of the best breakfast ever (which, if you were wondering, is a bowl of oatmeal with a spoonful of peanut butter mixed into it. Try it, you'll thank me later.), and as the food is in the microwave, the doorbell rings. "I got it!" I shout over to grandma as I rush over to the door and whip it open.
"Heya, Red!" Says Sapphire, standing just outside the door with her Roller held over her shoulder. Marco and Mina were also there with her, with their weapons, the Mini Splatling and the Luna Blaster Neo respectively. "Oh, uh, hey guys!" I say, trying to ignore the loud beeping of the microwave in the background. "You ready to do some Turf War today?" Asks Marco. I quickly glance back towards the kitchen and then back to them. "Uh, I was just making breakfast..." I respond. "Well hurry up, then! We had that big match today, remember?" Says Sapphire, her voice definitely irritated, but in a cheerful sort of way. I swear, I'll never understand how she does that...
"Oh, right!" I say, just now remembering that we were going to do that. "Give me like, 5 minutes, alright?" Mina nods. "Alright. We'll be at the electrical box around the corner." I nod, and then head over to the kitchen to get breakfast. I put a spoonful of peanut butter in both bowls, stir them around, and hand one of them to the pink ball, the other one being for me.
Though I tried to scarf down my food as fast as I could, the ball somehow ate it even faster than I did. I'm pretty sure by that point, it probably inhaled the food. Literally. After finishing my food, I rush back to my room to grab my D-Liter, say bye to grandma, and head outside to the electrical box. "Alright, I'm ready!" Mina glances at her watch. "Huh. 3 minutes. That's gotta be a new record." She says. "What can I say? I've been getting better at this whole 'speedrunning' thing." I say, twirling my D-Liter around. Marco rolls his eyes before glancing at his phone for a second. "Okay you two, are we gonna get going, or what? They're waiting on us." "Alright, alright." I say. "They wanted to battle at the Manta Maria, right?" Marco nods. "We haven't been to the Manta Maria in a while..." Says Sapphire, getting up from the electrical box. "This'll be fun!"
Later, at the Manta Maria; Sapphire's POV...
"This is not fun..." I grumble as I appear back at our team's Spawn Point. The others were all here with me, and the enemy team was right outside our base, ready to spawncamp us no matter which route we took. "No kidding." Says Mina. "At this rate, we won't be able to do anything." Marco fires his Splatling at a nearby puddle of enemy ink, inadvertently charging his special. "Yeah, but there's gotta be something we can do, right?" He says, not seeming to notice his own glowing hair. Red seems to notice, though.
"You're right, there is something we can do." She says with a smile on her face. "How about we hit 'em with the good ol' Cepha-launcher?" Marco smirks. "Sounds like a plan to me." He says, busting out his special weapon, the Tenta Missiles. The others climb onto the missile racks in their squid forms and I follow suit, but not before charging a special of my own. Now with us on the missile racks, Marco pulls the trigger, sending us flying through the air. At the highest point of our flight, I jump off the missile and activate my special: the Splashdown. With a large explosion of ink, I go crashing back down to the ship, wiping out two members of the enemy team. A couple seconds later, Mina and Red land as well, taking out the other two. "Nice one, guys!" Says Marco, running up to us. "Thanks! Now how about we turn this match around?" I say, slamming my Roller down to emphasize my point. "Let’s do it!" Says Scarlet. She and Marco go off to paint the right half of the ship, so Mina and I go and paint the left.
We were just minding our own business, painting away, when I noticed someone up on the grate around the mast. They had a Splatterscope, and they were aimed straight at Mina. "Mina, look out!" I shout to her, unable to really do anything due to my Roller's short range. "Woah!" Mina yelps as she barely dodges the shot from the Splatterscope. "That guy’s gonna be a pain..." I say. "Neither of us can reach them." Mina looks to me with a smirk on her face. "That's not exactly true." She says, pulling out a Splat Bomb. "You play baseball, right?" I nod, knowing exactly what’s going down. She tosses the bomb in my direction, and I swing my Roller, hitting the bomb up to the grate. The guy with the scope didn’t have enough time to react, and they went down with a bang. "Booyah!" I say, high-fiving Mina. And with that, we continue on our way.
Marco's POV
"Where to, Marco?" Scarlet shouts up to me. I'm standing on one of the higher ledges of the ship, out facing the enemy base. I quickly glance to my phone and then to Scarlet. "Everything’s pretty much painted." I say to her. "Only other place left is enemy base." She tosses a couple of Burst Bombs at some small puddles of enemy ink. "Alrighty then. Ready to go give those guys a taste of their own medicine?" I hop down from the ledge, landing right next to her. "You know it!" I say. So, we start making our way to the enemy side of the map. As we go, I occasionally glance behind me, partially to make sure that no one’s sneaking up on us, and partially just to look at Scarlet. (So what, she's pretty, okay?) After a little bit, we meet back up with Mina and Sapphire, and with the tune of 'Now or Never!' blasting through the ship's speakers, we charged into enemy base, just as they had done to us.
Sapphire started rolling in with her roller, Mina activated her Bomb Launcher, and Scarlet and I were contending with a Bloblobber perched on a high-up ledge. Carefully, I dodge out of the way of a set of Bloblobber bubbles and end up next to Scarlet. "You think you can get me up there?" I ask her, pointing to the ledge where the Bloblobber is. Scarlet chuckles a little. "Oh, I can definitely get you up there. Just gotta get this bad boy into Burst mode, and..." She turns a small dial on her D-Liter, and then points it towards me. "There, hop in!" She says, pointing to the inside of the Explosher end. I give her a quick skeptical look, and then use my squid form to hop inside. She points the D-Liter up towards the Bloblobber, and then pulls the trigger, firing me alongside a glob of ink more akin to a Blaster shot than the normal Charger-style shots that the D-Liter normally fires. After flying through the air for a sec, the glob explodes, sending me up to the ledge. Though I was thoroughly unprepared, I was able to use the Mini Splatling's quick charge time to dispatch of the Bloblobber before they were able to get rid of me. After that, the match-ending whistle blows, and I breathe a sigh of relief, as I feel that was enough recklessness for one day.
Scarlet's POV
"Nice shot!" I call up to Marco, watching as he took care of the Bloblobber, the ending whistle blowing shortly after. "Thanks." He responds, hopping down from the ledge. "I didn’t know your thing could do that." He says, pointing to the D-Liter. I smile. "Yeah, Mina gave it an upgrade last time I went to her place. You like it?" Marco nods. "Yeah, it’s pretty neat. A little terrifying, to be honest, but neat nonetheless." He says. We both laugh a little bit before Polo comes up behind me, tackle-hugging me. "WE WON!" She shouts, as if it were any surprise. Though, it made me realize that I was too busy paying attention to Marco to realize that the Judds had already announced the results.
"We sure did!" I say, patting her on the head. "Now then, how about we head to the Square to celebrate, yeah?" I ask the others. "Yeah!" Says Sapphire. "After all that running around, I could go for a bite." Says Mina.
So, we said goodbye to the others that we fought against, and started heading towards Inkopolis Square. As we walked, we discussed the different highlights of our battle, and talked about all the fun we had. It was a great time... until I felt something on my head.
"Huh?" I say, feeling something like a raindrop fall on my head. I wipe the top of my head and glance at my hand. On it wasn't actual rain like I feared, but it was something that might’ve been even worse. Salmonid ink.

Entry 4: Development
Welcome to my blog. I’m not tagging anything but entry #, so sorry if my unrelated mess somehow ends up in your search.
I was going to jump right in with some slime chunks made inactive but instead I got a surprise visitor as I was finishing my horse pen
Tumblr media
Already a new wood type, some tropical fish, and most importantly SAND!
I don't know redstone all that well, but I'll need to do some research on how to build a sand duplicator later. Maybe I'll add a section to the blog that's my current to-do list.
Tumblr media
Currently I've got the first couple of slime chunks near my base converted into something useful; a farm (those grass blocks in the middle by the water turn out to be a bad idea) and my animal pen.
Tumblr media
Anyway...
Tumblr media
Guess this'll have to be paths..... I swear slimes aren't supposed to spawn with other mobs around, maybe that distance was from the player >:/
Tumblr media
Oh, uh, it's been a second since I've taken another screenshot, new wandering trader! With Dripstone!!!!!!!!!! Infinite lava is at my fingertips as soon as I figure out where I want my nether portal.
Tumblr media
It's taken a while, but there's 3 more slime chunks repurposed. Eventually I'll shape it a bit better, but I don't have enough bone meal to try to get more mossy carpet right now.
Tumblr media
Now you may be wondering what that structure is, it's nowhere near complete but I'm pretty excited for it.
Tumblr media
This slime chunk is my dedicated Villager Hub. The villagers can still escape, and I don't have enough job blocks/beds to start moving them in yet.
Tumblr media
I also took advantage of those flowers I got from the wandering trader and managed to spawn a bee hive. Hopefully they'll fly far enough for this,,
Tumblr media
You may have noticed my skin is different. Hi, I'm Roadki||!

Ask a Stupid Question...
Fandom: Psychonauts Pairing: BobxHelmut Rating: G Summary: Bob finds it hard to pay attention to Helmut's words, sometimes. Which makes it a little awkward when Helmut asks a really important question.
(this'll go up on AO3 later but for now, *tosses fic into fandom like i'm feeding ducks)
Helmut was hard to listen to when he got excited.
Not that Bob didn’t want to listen, or didn’t like what Helmut had to say, no, no, nothing like that.
Nothing so simple.
No, when Helmut got excited, when he talked about things that really mattered to him, it was so hard for Bob to focus on anything but Helmut’s face. On his smile, and the way his eyes got so bright, and the way he seemed to glow from the inside out. The rest of the world might as well have stopped existing altogether, and Helmut’s words were lost to the emotion behind them, to the sound of his voice.
They’d snuck out to the far side of the gulch; settled down in the spot by the river that Bob had to remind himself not to think of as ‘theirs’. It was a beautiful night, not a cloud in the sky, the stars shining like distant diamonds.
The conversation had started off so innocently: Helmut remarking about all the stars you could see out here. He’d spent most of his adult life in cities, where the audience was (or, where they were supposed to be). It was one of the things he’d missed most about his childhood home. He’d grown up so far north in such a small town he could see the aurora borealis in person.
And then he was off. How beautiful it was, how unearthly, how it had inspired him in creating the Psychodyssey… Bob could have sat there listening to Helmut for hours, but couldn’t possibly tell you a single word the man had said in the last fifteen minutes.
The rhythm of Helmut’s voice had changed, softer, almost hesitant, but no less wonderful.
His eyes were so green, and they always seemed to be a different shade every time Bob looked. Right now they were like maple leaves in the heart of summer, a dark, deep green that was no less bright when the light shone through them.
And the way his hands moved when he talked, gesturing between himself and Bob, and the world at large. Helmut was always in motion, always doing, dancing and working and tapping out a rhythm to the music in his heart. Oh, what a heart it was, too. Warm and caring, always full and--
Helmut had stopped talking. He was looking at Bob, expectantly.
Uh oh.
Bob blinked, blinked again, tried to rewind the mental tape of the last few seconds, and realized that at the end of the last sentence, Helmut’s voice had gone up. A question. He’d asked Bob a question.
“Yes!” Bob blurted out. That was a safe bet, right? He and Helmut agreed on a lot of things. “Totally. Definitely.”
“Is...is that a ‘yes, you can’ or a ‘yes, I do mind’? Helmut asked, uncertainly. .
“I. I uh.” Bob felt his ears start to heat up. “Um. You--I don’t mind. I don’t mind anything. I’ve never minded anything.”
“If you don’t want to, that’s ok," Helmut said, the concerned expression not changing. "I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
“I am! I mean I’m not! I’m just, I was, I’m fine!”
“I just want to be sure--”
“Helmut,” Bob said, exasperated, desperate to get the conversation moving again so he could figure out what the hell it was he was agreeing to so emphatically. “My answer is yes.”
Except the conversation didn’t start moving again. Instead, Helmut leaned in. And kept leaning in. And then suddenly--except it wasn’t sudden at all, but even though he’d seen it coming Bob was still so surprised it might as well have been suddenly--they were kissing.
Oh.
Which meant--
Oh.
That was about it for higher thought from Bob for a while.
...until he realized just what the question might have been, and couldn’t stop the laugh that bubbled up in his chest.
“What?” Helmut asked.
“‘Do you mind if I kiss you’?” Bob said, incredulously. “Why didn’t you just say ‘can I kiss you’?”
“I got nervous!” Helmut protested, though Bob could tell he wasn’t really upset. “Don’t laugh!”
Bob pressed his hand to his mouth and coughed.
“I’m not laughing,” he said, fighting to keep the corners of his mouth down. “I’m taking this very seriously.”
“Alright, fine,” Helmut said, taking Bob’s hand in his. “Can I kiss you again, Mr Zanotto, or do I need to practice my delivery a few times first?”
Bob tilted his head up, not bothering to try to hide his smile.
“The answer is always yes.”

~~~~~~~~~~
You stood at your locker while stuffing all of the books needed for this weekend's homework into your backpack. You tapped your chin while scanning your locker. Hmm I think that's everything I'll need. You looked down at your phone to check the time. However, the date caught your eye instead as the realization hit you. Oh my god. Jake's birthday is tomorrow. You had completely forgotten. Jeez I'm a terrible friend, you sighed. There had just been so much going on recently, it had completely slipped your mind. You hadn't even gotten him a present yet. You stood there contemplating what to get him when suddenly, almost as if on cue, Sunoo appeared.
"Hey, Y/N!" He said with a cheerful smile.
"Oh, hi Sunoo!" You smiled back, although you were a bit confused. You and Sunoo had never really talked much before. You just met him for the first time last week, what business could he have with you?
"Sorry to bother you Y/N, but I just had a quick question for you," he began.
"Oh sure, what is it?" You ask. His eyes lit up as he continued.
"Sooo, it's Jake's birthday tomorrow and we were thinking of throwing him a surprise party! And since you're one of his closest friends, I was wondering if you'd like to help plan it with me and the rest of the boys." You were caught off guard by his request, it was almost like he knew that you were just thinking about Jake's birthday. What a funny coincidence. Regardless, you were excited to help out.
"Oh, that's a great idea, I'd love to help!" You replied.
"Yay! This is gonna be so fun, I can't wait!" He was full of excitement as he spoke. You chuckled. Cute. You and Sunoo continued discussing the party for a few minutes and it was decided that you were going bring the cake. You loved to bake so you were more than happy to do so. Shortly after Sunoo went off on his way, Heeseung approached you.
"Hey, Y/N," he said warmly. "Sunoo told me that you're in on the surprise party now, and I was actually going to grab some supplies after school so I was wondering if you'd like to come with me,"
"I'd love to," you said, smiling at him.
"Great," he replied, seeming quite happy that you accepted his offer. He didn't know what it was about you but as soon as you became friends, he wanted to be around you all the time. Something about you was just so addicting to him.
*****
You and Heeseung stood in the party aisle staring at the huge array of party supplies and decorations.
"Wow, there's quite a lot to pick from," you said. Heeseung nodded in agreement. Eventually, you both decided on some simple streamers and balloons as well as some birthday themed plates and napkins. Everything was black and ivory colored since those were Jake's favorite colors.
"This'll do," Heeseung said, satisfied.
"Yeah, let's go pay," you said while interlocking your arm with his. He had a difficult time keeping a smile from creeping onto his face as you did so.
You decided to go to the self-checkout since you were only buying a few things. You scanned all the items before putting them into a paper bag. The total appeared on the screen as you reached for your wallet.
"Oh don't worry about it, I got it," Heeseung said while pulling out his card.
"Don't be silly, I owe you for driving me around all the time. Let me pay, please?" You asked, although it was more of a command.
"Nope, I'm not letting you." He said with a teasing grin.
"Well, you're too late." You said as you beat him to the card slot. You faced him and stuck out your tongue. He rolled his eyes as you both laughed.
"I'll pay you back later." Heeseung said, not wanting to give up.
"Whatever you say," you retorted.
After you left the store, you headed back to the parking lot. Heeseung unlocked the car and put the bag in the backseat (he insisted on carrying it). He then shut the door before turning to you.
"Have you gotten a gift for Jake yet?" He asked.
"Uh, no not yet..." you answered. You were a bit embarrassed to admit that you still didn't have a present for him when his birthday was tomorrow.
"Perfect, I haven't either actually. Do you wanna go look around some shops and see what we can find?" He suggested.
"Oh, yeah. That sounds good," you said, relieved that you were both in the same boat.
You decided to check out the nearest clothing shop. After entering the store, you began looking around for something that Jake might like. Heeseung began his own search as well. You were looking through a rack of coats when you saw a huge faux fur coat. You giggled at the thought of Jake wearing it. You slipped it on and called out to Heeseung.
"Oh this is totally up Jake's alley, dontcha think?" You asked while striking a pose in the ridiculous coat. Heeseung snorted at you and nodded.
"Totally." He agreed sarcastically.
You continued to look through the rack a bit more before you found another hideous jacket. This one was neon green and covered in random zippers and buckles. It was incredibly tacky. So of course, you put it on.
"Gosh I look terrible in this. Then again, I don't think anyone would actually look good in it." You chuckled. Heeseung laughed along and shook his head.
"I think you'd look nice in anything," he uttered under his breath. Thankfully, you didn't hear him because if you did, your heart probably would of burst.
After looking around a bit longer, you eventually settled on a brown corduroy jacket and a bottle of cologne that you thought fit Jake's taste. Heeseung had picked out a nice pair of sneakers and a small ring. You both checked out before making your way back to the car. It had gotten rather chilly outside as you shivered and rubbed your hands together in attempt to keep them warm. Heeseung noticed you shivering and set both of the shopping bags down (he insisted on carrying them again) before turning to you and wrapping his hands around yours. You were caught off guard by his gesture. Your heartbeat picked up rapidly. He kept his hands around yours for a moment before looking back up at you.
"Better?" he asked with a kind smile.
"Y-yeah, thanks," you were definitely much warmer now, considering how hot in the face you had become. Luckily, it just seemed like your face was flushed from the cold. At least that's what you hoped Heeseung assumed. You made it back to the car and quickly climbed into the passenger seat as Heeseung put the rest of the bags in the back. He then returned to the driver's seat and immediately turned on the heat.
The ride home was pleasent as you both chatted and sang along to the radio. You were surprised to find out that Heeseung has a lovely singing voice. Could he get any more perfect?? You were a little bit sad when you arrived at your house, not wanting your time with him to end. You thanked him for taking you shopping as you climbed out of the car.
"No problem, thanks for coming with me. I had fun." He said happily.
"I had fun too," you said. You smiled and waved goodbye as he drove away. After heading inside, you went to grab your phone out of your jacket. As you stuck your hand in your pocket, you felt something else in there along with your phone. It felt like paper of some kind. You pulled it out to see what it was. It was a $20 bill. You stared at it in confusion before you realized where it came from. Oh my god, how and when did he even put this here?? You rolled your eyes and giggled. Heeseung did promise to pay you back after all.
~~~~~~~~~~
Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I didn't intend for the shopping trip to take up the entirety of it, but here we are hahaha. Regardless, thank you for reading and supporting the series, it really helps me stay motivated! :)

We shouldn't be doing this. I thought we all agreed? It was too risky putting her in there, even if she is backup. But Y/n insisted.
There were just too many things that could go wrong.
What if the plan didn't work? What if he caught on before he got in the sauna? What if he breaks out?
Everyone seems pretty confident in the plan, and it is a strong plan. But... they don't know the Mind Flayer like I do. They don't know how determined he is.
Especially when he's angry.
"Y/n...?" I wince internally when my voice comes out softer than I wanted.
She looks over her shoulder, away from the huddled party, and steps away with me out of earshot while Lucas finishes up the details. She took my hands in hers and gave them a gentle squeeze, already reading my thoughts.
"I'm still doing this, hon,"
I can't help but sag my shoulders, avoiding her eye and nervously I begin playing with her hands. "You don't have to though,"
"I know," she says. But with one look I can tell she's trying to bury her worry. "But we've got no other choice,"
"Yes, we do. We can wait for more backup. We could finally find Dustin? Get my mom, the chief...?"
I trail off as Y/n gives me a bittersweet smile, tracing my hands with her thumbs. My gut sinks.
"You said it yourself, Will. We need to do this as soon as possible. If it is him, he could hurt someone,"
This time it's her turn to trail off, and finally, I speak with a gentle, countering voice. "Like you?"
She sighs, sagging her head against my shoulder and lazily snaking her hands around my waist in a hug. I hug her back, trying to enjoy this moment. I can tell she is too. It's then I hear her mumble against my shoulder, "I'm too stubborn to die,"
I laugh to myself, hugging her tighter and over her shoulder I see the Party split up. Mike was tailing El, Lucas was most likely out on the hunt for a lock of some sort as he had volunteered earlier and Max stayed put with the binoculars.
Against my better judgment, I pull away and meet Y/n's eye. The look of adoration in them was hard to believe, and it still made my knees weak. Thankful again for her and this moment, I planted a kiss on the crown of her head and she smiled.
"You trust me, right?" She asked, her voice unusually delicate.
I moved my chin off of her head so I could gawk at her, completely appaled.
"What?" But she was serious, and it broke my heart. "Of course I trust you. It's him I don't trust. I know what he's capable of and... I know what he thinks of you."
Y/n doesn't say anything this time. She just looks back at our interwoven hands and then back at me. She shoots me a quick, forced smile that unintentionally told me she was feeling more and more uneasy. But because it was Y/n, she was trying to brave for others. She was putting it aside for the great good.
She shouldn't have to. She doesn't have to. I just wish she knew that.
"Come on," she says, pulling me along after Lucas. "Let's go."
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
We found Lucas in the maintenance shed, digging through multiple boxes. I fell quiet and immediately got to work searching the shelves. Behind me at the door, Y/n hesitated, almost unsure of the silent tension in the room before ultimately shrugging it off and getting to work.
So far, all I was seeing was gardening gloves and other gardening supplies like pesticides, undoubtedly for lawn maintenance in front of and around the pools.
"Uh, Will...?" Lucas asks, shooting a nervous glance between me and Y/n from over his shoulder. "Um, you know about yesterday...?" Lucas asks softly.
Y/n hesitated from beside me for a moment, and in turn, so does Lucas. But he seems determined to make things right.
"It's fine, Lucas," I say, looking up from the box. "You don't have to say anything."
"I know..." Lucas continues, closing whatever lockbox he had found himself in. He was obviously nervous doing this in front of Y/n, but I guess I couldn't blame him. "But it's just... it was a really cool campaign. " he looks between both of us now, earnestly. "both of you did a great job."
He looks back at me, and Y/n shifts by my side, a frown on her face and her mouth in a small 'o' shape.
"And Mike and I should have never-"
"I don't care anymore Lucas," I say, moving on to a new box. "I really don't. We have bigger things to worry about now,
I know he's sorry, but I also know that if I dwell on it any longer I will only grow more upset. And I was already too worried about how this was going to go.
A pile of metal in the next box caught my eye. It was a long rope of steel chains and I pulled it out of the box, showing it to them.
"This should hold him,"
They both nod, looking somewhat relieved. But as I had feared, the matter wasn't being put to bed. Y/n had turned back to Lucas with a quirked brow and an edge in her voice and asked the last question we needed in this moment.
"Mike and you shouldn't have what?"
||𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕||
The chain lock on the door undid itself and the azure gate swung open, allowing El to stride inside.
'A fake man' is what she was told to look for, at least that's how the others summed it up when she asked what a "dummy" looked like. Her first answer had been from Max - "easy, we both dated one" - she told El. She had rolled her eyes despite fighting back a small smile. She half expected a rebuttal from Y/n but El had turned her head just in time to see Will pulling her away, and El's shoulders sagged.
She wasn't gonna think about it, or get her hopes up. El was determined to keep her mind on the task at hand, even now as her wide eyes scoured the shelves of many peculiar items. Finally, a flash of bright red caught her eye and she knew immediately why they called it a fake man.
El picked it up off the shelf and tried not to think about how much it creeped her out. Its head, arms, and legs flopped around when she picked it up and suddenly she was filled with aggravation. But it had not been from this dummy. It had been from the one that followed her.
"Hey, I found the breakers," El didn't turn her head, she just grimaced and sighed. The last person she wanted to see now was Mike. "Woah, that thing is super creepy. Let me see it-"
He took it from her arms abruptly when she turned, and she frowned up at him. Mike didn't notice. With a goofy smile, he held it up in his arms like a puppet.
"I think this'll work. Right buddy?" His other hand moved to the dummy's chin, making it talk in a grating high pitched voice. "'Right Mike',"
El was done waiting, and she certainly wasn't impressed with his behavior. She gave him a purposeful, deadpan glare before taking the dummy back and making a break for the door. Alone.
But Mike didn't still didn't seem to take the hint. Why was he laughing and joking, she wondered. Why was he acting like nothing was wrong?
"Hey, El," he calls after her, for once sounding earnest.
Against her better judgment, she turns around.
"I just," he sighs, beginning to fight nervously. "I wanted to say..." he shifts on his feet. "You know when I said Nana was sick?" He took another, plunging deep breath. Here goes nothing, he thought."Well, she wasn't. I lied."
"I know."
El turned to leave, and Mike called out again. "Right, right, right, I just... I think it was important for you to know the context," he adds.
Her eyes tighten in a glare, she was growing impatient.
"Hopper," Mike says quickly. "he went crazy on me. Telling me I'm spending way too much time with you. He made me lie, I mean, you're the most important thing to me in the world-"
"-What if he's right?" El cut in, dropping the dummy on the ground.
"What?"
"Hop," she challenged, stepping forward.
A lazy grin took over Mike's face, a mocking grin, and he laughed dismissively. "Oh, no, no, no. He's just some angry old man who hates joy,"
The girl grits her teeth, reminded more and more of Diana's truth lasso and the Amazon warriors Max and Y/n had taught her about. And it gave her more confidence in her answer.
"But if I only see you," she explains slowly, putting on a facetious tone and jabbing a finger in his shoulder. "and I'm a different species than you, then I should be with my species more."
"What are you talking about?" Mike asks, flabbergasted as El retrieves the dummy from the floor. When she nears the gate, his jaw drops in shock when it clicks. "...Did you spy on me?"
"That's totally against the rules!" He cries, and she heaves the dummy over her shoulders.
"I make my own rules,"
And with that, El had left leaving Mike alone and in shock.
The silence had lasted only moments before a crackle of his walkie startled him.
"Mike? Are you there?"
"Yeah!" He can't help but snap, still much too in his own head.
"Where are you guys?" Max asks from her station at the car.
She hadn't left, nor had she taken her eyes off of Billy since everyone split.
"I'm coming... just hold on a second- Mike!"
Max did a double-take at the walkie when she barely heard the second voice in the background. It sounded like Y/n. But Mike had already shut off his coms. So Max shrugged, setting down her walkie and taking another hesitant look through the binoculars at her stepbrother.
"I hope it's not you," she says under her breath. "I really hope it not you."
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
"Mike!"
Mike stumbled back against the shelves, startled when Y/n came storming in and he nervously closed his walkie.
She looked livid.
Will and Lucas were right on her tail, fearfully and hesitantly trying to persuade or calm her in some way.
"The hell is wrong with you, Wheeler?"
"What?!" He asked, completely dumbfounded.
"You heard me! What the hell is your problem?"
"You tell me! Apparently, I'm messing up everywhere," he exclaims, gesturing after El. "you're gonna have to be more specific,"
"Y/n, really, just let it go. I'm over it-" Will eased.
"-Well, I'm not." She spits, glowering at Mike. "Why the hell would you say that? How could you say that?!"
"Say what...?!" Mike's heart and stomach sunk 6 feet when he met the saddened eyes of Will, and he felt he might hurl. He had been kicking himself since it came out of his mouth, just as he had with his fight outside the mall with Y/n. It was getting harder and harder for Mike not to explode these days, everything instinct seemed to be the wrong one. "Oh..."
"Yeah, oh," she snarls, completely disgusted. "None of us said that to you when El was gone for a year now did we?"
Mike picks his eyes back up off the floor where he had guiltily been avoiding everyone's eye and meets her fiery glare, shifting uncomfortably on his feet. The more and more she looks at him the more he feels like he's standing on hot coals.
But despite her intimidating stature, her voice grew quieter and more intense.
"And you spent all those nights in her fort, testing the channels and calling out to her? When we all thought she was dead. Did we ever say anything so horrible?"
He shifts again, his heartbreaking and anger swelling up in his chest at himself as he recalls what he said to Will. "No, you didn't."
"No, we didn't. Because friends don't do that shit."
"No, they don't,"
"They also don't shit all over their friend, leaving him behind, mocking things important to him either," she says pointedly, now sharing that look with Lucas but it was less severe towards the Sinclair boy. "huh?"
They both nodded, and Will stayed quiet.
-"No,"
-"Huh-uh,"
She turns back to Mike, shaking her head with her arms folded over her stomach. She was still passed but the boy looked well past sorry. And suddenly her face went blank, scaring Mike.
"What?" He asks carefully.
"You drew first blood, metaphorically speaking," Y/n informed, still trying to tamper down her anger. "so you have to apologize. A real one, not a fake one, and not out of defense."
Mike fell silent again, looking between her, Lucas, and finally Will. Before he could open his mouth to speak, she finished.
"Do it when you mean it, Mike. Not because you got caught,"
And then, like deja vu, she was gone leaving him and this time, his friends in silent shock. And with one lingering look, Will had left with her.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
"Erica, do you copy?"
Erica buckled the helmet under her chin, her head still getting used to the weight of two flashlights and Dustin's walkie headset.
Night had fallen and everyone had locked up, including their very own Scoops Ahoy. With the addition of one Dustin Henderson and Erica Sinclair of course. The girl tightens her backpack over her shoulders and stands ready at the latter.
"Mm-hmm. I copy. You nerds in position, or what?"
"Yeah, we're in position," Robin answers softly, careful not to draw any attention like last time despite the lack of company. "It's It's quiet here, so you've got the green light."
"Green light. Got it." She nods, beginning her ascent. "Commence Operation Child Endangerment."
"Can we maybe not call it that?" Robin plead.
"See you on the other side, nerds." Was her only response and the line went quiet.
Erica had begun her journey into the vents.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
After several painstaking, hair-tearing minutes the trio finally heard a response.
"Alright, nerds. I'm there,"
"Do you see anything?" Robin asks.
Erica peers through the vents with little interest.
"Yeah, I see those boring little boxes you're so excited about,"
"Any guards?"
"Negative,"
"Booby traps?" Robin inquires.
Erica scoffs as she slips the backpack off her shoulders.
"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?"
Steve fights a smirk, but it wasn't hard given his stress level.
"Thank you for that," Robin deadpans.
Erica rears back her legs and with a fearsome cry she kicked out the vent and tossed her backpack out onto the floor. And nary a booby trap in sight. So far.
Her feet collided with the ground and she gave a firm nod.
"I'm in,"
Those words hit Steve harder than anything they had done all week, and he feels suddenly as if a giant weight had been placed on his lungs preventing him from breathing.
"Oh, god," he groaned into his hands.
They were sending an actual child - not to mention a child he barely knew - into certain danger for the sake of reward. Oh, he definitely went too far, this was bad. This was so very bad.
A far-off buzzing pulled his eyes back to the doors just in time to see them swing open. And out waltzed Erica who was waiting for them with a knowing look.
"Free ice cream. For. Life!"
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
A choir of crickets sings into the starless night. The warm breeze blowing in from the east enunciates the sway of the trees and carries with it the smell of chlorine drifting in from the closed pool. The concrete was still wet from today's patrons, and the last of the darkened footprints on the concrete had begun to dry. Including the trail that led all the way into the men's locker room.
Billy stood under the gentle stream of water, allowing the freezing water to soak all the way to his bones. He had been in the shower for at least an hour, trying desperately to quell the fire in his veins but he only managed to subdue it to a small ember.
Finally, he kills the water, and the locker room falls deadly quiet. Billy liked the quiet, he always had. And now more than ever.
Towel secured around his torso, he now stands at and opens his designated locker, and begins to change. His mind wanders aimlessly, anything that wasn't the obvious when suddenly, the silence is first disturbed.
The moaning of the metal door bounced off of the long stretch of lockers with an echoey tin, and Billy bristled.
"Pool's closed,"
Metal cried out to him again, finished by a shuddering clang from the door yet again.
"Hey!"
No answer.
He slams the locker shut so hard the whole row shakes and he takes off down the hall after them in a blind fury.
"YOU HEAR ME?!"
Again no answer, but Billy wouldn't accept it.
"The pool is closed!"
He throws his fists against the exit door, confused as to why it wasn't opening. Unbeknownst to him, a certain brunette was hiding in the shadows across the locker room, playing with the door - and the lock now trapping him inside - all without lifting a finger.
Angered and confused, Billy continues his assault on the door; slamming fist after fist, push after push but there was no give. He was locked inside.
And the lights cut out.
Billy was high alert now. And so was He. Billy could feel him prickle, far back in his mind but he was there. Watching.
Waiting.
"Billy," came a distant, sing-song voice.
"Who's there," he seethes.
"Billy~"
He stalked back around the corner as he echoes the mocking, sing-song voice.
"Who's there~"
More rattling preceded a chilling, squeaky laugh that echoed seemingly from everywhere. Billy takes a chance and rips open the first shower curtain, but finds nothing. The voice calls out again, once, twice. It laughs.
"You think this is funny?" He asks, in a frighteningly low voice.
The voice laughs, once again, in response and hisses another taunt. "Billy! Come and find me!"
He stalks further and further, edging the end of the brick wall as his eyes prowl across the room in search of movement.
"I find you, it is your funeral," he promises.
His eyes lock on the closing door leading to the weight room, and as if reading his thoughts, the voice eggs him on.
"Come and get me! Come on!"
Slowly he maneuvers towards the door, reaching ever so slowly for the handle. And in one swift motion, he rips it open and storms inside, finding no one but himself. At first.
"Billy!" The voice cried again, closer than ever. Another taunting laugh.
But Billy's eyes were dead set ahead on the sauna door, and more specifically the silhouette of moppy hair waiting for him behind the foggy glass window. The corners of Billy's mouth are yanked up in a disconnected smile that never quite reaches his pained eyes.
"Got you,"
His lips curl back into a snarl - an exaggerated smile - as he claps his hands and cackles, marching in for the kill.
He's already ripping open the door, face falling and realizing the truth of it all when he registers the voice clear as day and flatter and angrier than ever.
"Come and get me you piece of shit."
A fake. A goddamn fake made out of a stolen CPR dummy was the only thing waiting for him, harnessed from the ceiling. In a flood of anger, Billy steps forward and grabs the dummy in a chokehold, its rubber head hitting the ceiling with a thud. And that's when he spots it.
The walkie-talkie duct-taped to its chest and still talking to him.
"Hey. Behind you,"
Billy whirls around to find one of the girls from the night before.
El.
"Hi,"
Billy chucks the dummy into the sauna floor, but before he can do anything else, the girl flicks her head with a grunt and he's sent flying into the tile wall. It shatters where his back makes contact and he cries out in pain, falling to the floor in a heap.
"Now!" Mike cries.
The lights return with a sharp click and across the room, the Party emerges from their hiding spot in the locker rooms.
Billy's already on his feet, blood pounding in his ears just from his furious screams as he storms after El. But El is faster. She rakes one clawed hand through the air with a grunt and the door swings shut with a loud bang, where the others got to work.
Y/n had stopped at El's side where she was mostly hidden, for once allowing her best friend to shield her from the man pounding and screaming against the glass like a rabid dog. The others had already secured a smaller metal pipe through the door handle and the pipes attached to the wall, encircling it all with the rope of chains Will had discovered.
"Come on! Come on!" Mike reflexively cried, with nothing more to do but help hold the door closed and watch as Billy atta ked inches from his face.
He could feel the door moving.
At last, the click of the lock reached their ears. "Got it!" Lucas cried.
The four of them scurry back to El's side, watching in horror as Billy descended into madness before their very eyes.
The lock and chains rattled, as did the pipe and with every flinch of the door, the edge in the air grew sharper. Y/n felt a hand squeeze her own and she knew it was Will, and she gave his hand a thankful squeeze. Nobody said anything as he roared in anger, and they all feared what might happen next but not a single one of them expected what did.
His face slowly fell, his screams dying out with it as his expression turned to gasp when he noticed a particular individual.
"Max,"
His voice was a whisper, barely a breath, as he looked upon the girl. Her expression was unreadable, but it didn't take a genius to know she was trying to be brave. He looked - and sounded - betrayed. One by one, her friends look to her, her ocean eyes dead ahead on her brother.
"Do it," she says.
Releasing Y/n's hand, Will runs forward to the controls, commencing the sauna test.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
The trio, now quartet, stood packed together inside the locked room, peering over the same Imperial Panda box that was identical to the others piling the shelves. Steve handed Dustin's pocket knife back to the boy after splitting the tape. He pries the lid open, popping the remaining bit of tape, and unfolds the cardboard to reveal an unexpected sight.
The four of them peer in to get a better look at the single metal box with one indented handle in the very center. Steve sends them each a curious look before twisting the lid until he felt and heard the satisfying click and hiss of air releasing from the inside. Discarding the lid revealed to all four figures four similar handles inside corresponding cylinders; steam spilling out from all sides.
"That's definitely not Chinese food," Steve says finally.
He makes a grab for one of the cylinders but stops himself, motioning for the three.
"Uh, maybe you guys should, uh, you know stand back,"
Robin shrugs and complies, and Erica steps off the box of Kauffman Shoes she had been standing on but Dustin doesn't move. He just shakes his head defiantly.
"No,"
"Just step back, alright?" Steve says, eyeing the handle while trying to shoo the kid away.
"No,"
"Step back!"
-"no!"
-"seriously!"
-"No!" Dustin cries, growing upset. "If you die, I die,"
The room goes silent and everyone stares at Dustin as he gives Steve a challenging look. And after several moments of silence, Steve concedes.
"Okay," he finally shrugs.
Steve turns back to the handle and draws in an anxious, and unlikely-but-also-not-impossibly last breath, and unlocks the cylinder. Again, it hisses and more and more steam spills out but all eyes were on the glowing green substance in the cylinder Steve now held up.
"What the hell?" Steve gasps.
"What... is that?" Robin can't help but ask.
The billowing sound of grinding gears and squeaking pulleys rang in their ears and they all felt an invisible force sway them on their feet. They hadn't previously thought it possible, but their attention was stolen away from the mysterious glowing substance and towards the room.
"Is that just me or did the room move?" Dustin murmured.
"Booby traps," Erica croaked, for the first time sounding scared.
The room was filled with more and more clicks that only grew louder and Robin snapped into action.
"Okay, you know what? Let's just grab that and go," she says, snatching the cylinder from Steve's hands and begab securing it in Erica's backpack.
Dustin made a break for the panel, where Erica had shown him and wasted no time in pressing, "door open," but nothing happened. Just the empty clicks reaching his ears as he feverishly pressed the button over and over and tried not to panic.
"Which one do I press, Erica?"
"Just press the damn button, nerd,"
"Which one, I-" He gulps nervously, swiping at his sweating brow trying to maintain a level voice. "I'm pressing the button, okay?"
"Press 'open door'!"
"I'm pressing 'open door'!"
-"Just open the-- press the other button!" Steve cuts in, and all four of them begin shouting over one another as they spiral into a frenzy.
-"Guys, just get out of the way so she can press the button!"
"-would you stop?"
"-I'm trying!"
"-Would you let me just do it?! Would you just stop?!"
"Just open the door!"
Pulling a hail Mary, Steve hit every button he could see and a sudden jolt shook the room with the loudest clang they had heard so far. They all stilled; the room falling silent around them apart from the wailing of the gears.
A giant red barricade had unsheathed itself over the door, blocking their only exit and their stomachs dropped. Literally. The room itself was suddenly plunged at a sickening speed, knocking them into the walls and floors with terrified shrieks. As Steve gripped the shelf and the wall, trying to steady himself, his widened eyes fall on the upper wall - or lack thereof - where concrete walls and rows upon rows of lights were rushing past them all confirming to him the worst.
"Oh, shit,"

Big brain moment big brainmoment: scenario of pillars (with reader of wanted) swapping BODIES. Or pets. Both are cool! Idk how this'll happen, but yuess plzz
This is such an interesting prompt! I hope you don’t mind that I went with a female reader to even out the balance (since most of the pillars are guys). I also had the names randomly drawn to see whose body swapped with whose!
‘switch ‘em up’ / Pillars x Reader
warnings: just Tengen being a pervert lol
words: 1,004
-
for reference: Giyuu / Shinobu | Sanemi / Muichiro | Obanai / Tengen | Gyomei / Mitsuri | Kyojuro / you
-
It’s not uncommon for all of the Pillars – yourself included – to stay the night at Oyakata-sama’s residence after a long night of discussing battle topics and going over general information dealing with the rest of the corps. On that fateful night, you all wished each other well and went about your separate ways. It was like any other night, sleep beckoning to those who listened.
It’s in the morning, though, when everything goes wrong.
Now, normally, you, Shinobu, and Mitsuri would sleep together in the same room. It was never a big deal, and all three of you enjoyed each other’s company. However, as your eyes cracked open after hearing a scream, you realize Shinobu and Mitsuri aren’t even there anymore. You gawk at Gyomei and Giyuu – they sit where the other two futons lay, their yukatas seemingly tight on their bodies. Hell, if you’re remembering correctly, weren’t those the yukatas the girls wore to sleep last night?
“Uh, guys?” you ask. You’re suddenly taken aback at how drastically different your voice sounds. You do not sound that deep. If anything, you sound like Kyojuro. You lick your lips and blink wildly. “Why are you in here? Where’s the girls?”
Giyuu sighs. He seems frustrated as he pushes the loose strands of hair out of his eyes with clunky movements. “(y/n), it’s us,” he presses. “I’m Shinobu. Mitsuri’s right there.” He points to Gyomei’s hulking form.
Your eyebrows shoot up your forehead. This is a dream, right? You didn’t magically change bodies, right? You wince as you pinch the soft skin of your inner elbow. Now that you’re looking down, you notice that your hands are not your own. They’re bigger, the palms covered in callouses and scars. The bronzed skin rings you as strangely familiar.
Oh, shit.
Throwing off your blanket, you expose beefy thighs wrapped tightly in the fabric of the yukata you wore last night. The article of clothing is way too short; you waggle your exposed toes, disbelief filling your senses. What the fuck is going on here?
“Shinobu,” you say, your newly deepened voice rough with sleep, “explain. Please?”
Giyuu – Shinobu? – shrugs his – hers? – shoulders. “I don’t know what happened. But, if I can tell just by looking at ourselves, the others must have been affected.” You watch as she draws himself to a stand. Looking down at herself, Shinobu scowls. “Out of all people, why’d I have to stuck as him?”
“Do you- Do you think everyone is alright?” Mitsuri squeaks. It is way too weird to hear Gyomei’s deep voice sounding so mouse-like. Mitsuri fidgets with the hem of her yukata, the end of it just barely covering her crotch. Poor girl – it mustn’t be easy being stuck in the body of a goliath.
Following in Shinobu’s actions, you quickly stand up. “There’s only one way to find out.”
The threw of you hastily stagger out of the room, all three of yours movements janky. If anything, it’s like a bunch of young babes learning how to take their first steps. Luckily, the other Pillars must’ve thought the same thing; all ten of you stand in the hallway, confusion written across all your faces.
Shinobu pushes past you, her lips pressing into a thin line. “Listen, everyone!” she calls, gathering everyone’s attention. “Clearly, something detrimental has happened to all of us. I suggest we do a roll call and see who’s in whose bodies.” She raises her hand. “I am Shinobu, and I am in-“ she shudders, “-Giyuu-san’s body. And, if anybody is so willing, please proceed to stab my eyes out.”
Down the hall, Obanai starts snickering. “Oh gods, Shinobu! How flamboyantly violent that is! Can I call dibs?” Well, at least you know where Tengen is.
On the other hand, Tengen’s face contorts with a disgusted expression. “Can you not use the word “flamboyant” when you’re in my body? I don’t want you ruining me.” And there’s Obanai. Poor guy. Tengen only cackles at the hostile remark.
“Hey now! Let’s not argue!” Your jaw drops as you step forward; whatever Kyojuro wore the night before practically hangs off your frame. You – he – places his hands on his hips, his signature smiling curving his mouth. It is way too weird seeing yourself move from the eyes of another person. That’s what you look like? Seriously?
Kyojuro clears his throat and thrusts his hand into the air. “Rengoku Kyojuro, the Flame Pillar, here!”
Tengen groans. “How come you get tits?”
You gawk at Tengen. “Tengen, shut up!” you screech.
He turns to you, his heterochromatic eyes gleaming mischievously. “Ohoho, is that (y/n) I see? You swapped bodies with Kyojuro? Now that’s funny.”
“Put me out of my misery,” Shinobu’s body says. You figure it must be Giyuu due to the pained expression.
“Everybody just shut the fuck up!” Muichiro yells. Marching towards the center of the hall, he glances over everyone with a scowl playing on his face. “Clearly, something got us fucked up overnight. Instead of fighting over who’s in whose body, we should be figuring out why.”
Gyomei – who’s in Mitsuri’s body – claps his hands together and murmurs a quick prayer. “Sanemi, you didn’t mess around with a fortune teller again, have you?”
Muichiro’s face darkens with an angry blush. “Shut the fuck up, titty twister! I didn’t do shit.” Turning to Giyuu, he points an accusing finger at him. “I bet he – she, whatever – did this.”
Ah, so Sanemi must be in Muichiro’s body. Figures.
The real Muichiro yawns, his hand reaching up and scratching at his new white hair. “Can we just sleep it off…”
“Absolutely not!” Kyojuro booms. “We must get to the bottom of this!”
“Before that,” Tengen says as he scooches over to where your body stands, “do you mind if I feel you up? I’m curious.”
You can feel – Kyojuro’s? – face warming up. “That’s it. Sorry, Obanai-san, but Kyojuro’s foot is going up your ass.”
Shinobu sighs as you take after Tengen. “Well, this is just wonderful, isn’t it?”
