Not to hate on Morgan or anything (my feelings are mixed), but I've just rewatched S7E03 Dorado Falls for the first time in a few years (S7 makes me sad) and for the first time I noticed how fucked it is that he makes Emily recertify for his own peace of mind without giving a single fucking thought to what she needs for her peace of mind, as the one of them who was actually in danger and has been all alone in a foreign country living as another person for seven months.

And she does it, like a penance, like the lapsed Catholic she is, and it's just one more thing that reinforces that she owes everybody something and isn't worth the same support and care she constantly offers other people.

Honestly, I hate her. I really do. Because it's such bullshit to say this and I hate how many people think like her about actors and other real people. And this idea that she's writing it based on reality no matter how many times her brother tells her it isn't true is so frustrating and I hate the whole shipping culture that happens in these shows and about these shows so much.

You know what would've been great? The Scooby Apocalypse story by HBO. Make it gritty and intense. Change races, explore those arcs!

Or literally anything but this Mindy Kaling nonsense.

The characters are barely even bastardized versions of themselves. It feels like she pitched a show and HBO said nah so she came back with it mixed with Scooby Doo and they greenlit it.

There's 50+ years of content to pick and choose from. Any story could've been told.

But to age the gang down and make it all perverted? (I'm talking to you opening shower scene). No Scooby at all? It's honestly reading as what a very right wing conservative would consider "woke". Instead of races and sexuality just being there, they make it being there special and a plot point.

Half of dang TikTok doesn't know Shaggy's legal name is Norville! And they want to change BIG aspects of the characters the general public remembers?! C'mon.

It also feels like Kaling and the other writes are mocking adult animation/cartoon fans.
