Pairings: Mountain X GN!Reader

Summary: It hadn’t been a good day for Mountain, luckily, his partner had the perfect surprise.

Word Count: 526

Notes: Saw a head canon that Mountain doesn’t like sour candy, and I just had a thought and needed to act on it. If you don’t know what twin snakes are, they’re like gummy worms (but snakes) that are connected. There’s the sour side (orange, lemon, and blackcurrant) and the sweet side (cherry, apple, and blueberry). They’re paired together so you always have a sour and a sweet one, and I think that’s a great story to tell.

It had been a long day for Mountain. Too many kids ran through the flower beds, some of his plants weren’t growing properly, someone bought the wrong soil, and so many other things. All he wanted to do was curl up with you and fall asleep to a movie, music, your voice, or even just utter silence. He didn’t care as long as the two of you were wrapped up in each other.

He walked through the halls of the Abbey before making it to the ghoul den, finding you seated on the couch in the lounge. “Hey, how was gard-” you were cut off by two arms picking you up, carrying you off to his room.

He closed the door, gently laying on the bed with you now next to him. “It’s been a day,” he mumbled into your neck, inhaling your scent.

Wrapping your arms around him, you just held him close. “Do you want to talk about it?”

“Too much just didn’t want to go my way. Just wanted you.” He pulled you closer somehow and went quiet.

“I have a surprise for you,” you said. “Me and some other siblings went to the store today, and I found something I wanted to try.”

Mountain sat up a little, still holding onto you with one arm, propping himself up with the other. “What did you find?” He asked, raising a brow.

You shuffled out of his grasp and off the bed. Finding the bag from the store, you pulled out a green bag of gummies. “They’re called twin snakes,” you stated as you walked back over to the bed.

“Are they sour?” He made room for you to sit next to him. Examining the package, his face twisted a little. If there was anything someone should know about him, it’s his dislike for sour candies. He just didn’t understand how people liked them. You, however, loved them.

“Well yes and no,” you explained, opening the bag and pulling one out. “There are two sides, sweet and sour.” Ripping apart the yellow and green snakes, you handed him the green half as you bit into the yellow. “They come in pairs. Green and yellow, orange and purple, and blue and red. Green, purple, and blue are sweet, while the others are sour.”

He examined the green gummy before deciding to take a bite. The taste hit his tongue, and he let out a small hum of appreciation.

“Is it good?” You asked, ripping apart the blue and red set next, handing him the blue one.

He took it, taking a bite of that one. “Surprisingly,” he mumbled as he chewed on the candy.

“I thought you would like it. And it’s perfect for us considering I love sour things and you love sweet things.”

He pulled you closer to him, resting his head on yours as you continued pulling apart the snakes and feeding them to him. “Must be why I love you so much,” he mumbled as he kissed the top of your head. After such a sour day, he was happy to be able to come back to someone just so sweet.

Thinking about Dave and Eli's bond. Especially in MGS2.

Thinking about Dave extracting Eli's corpse from the Patriots lab because he didn't want them to have Eli (he lost it later but against his wishes)

Thinking about how Dave has kept Eli's dogtags.

Thinking about how Liquid stays dormant inside the arm until he feels Dave. It happens both in the tanker incident and on Big Shell. Dave could compel Eli to come forth with his mere presence. Eli is alive again because of him.

Thinking about how Dave goes berserk when he hears Eli's voice through Ocelot, breaks his chains and jumps after the metal gear. You don't see Snavid act like this with anyone else, even his most beloathed enemies.

The Twin Snakes didn't love each other. They weren't brotherly. They were not even friendly or caring. They barely knew each other. They hated each other. But they had a bond alright.
