The most wild thing about the creation of Omegaverse is that it happened in 2010, right in the middle of the Twilight movie series being released. Those movies were wildly popular among mainstream audiences, had werewolves as a main part of the story, and inspired mounds of fanfic. So you'd think if anything was going to inspire Omegaverse to be created at the time, it should have been Twighlight, and yet it wasn't. It was created because of a little tv show about humans who kill werewolves and the werewolves didn't even have anything to do with omegaverse

Hi I've seen many army explaining Jimin's portfolio as a silent way to come out. Relating it to his sexuality purely based on the bi lights behind. But don't you think it's just a lighting. Because if Jikook are in a relationship that means JK is also queer but i don't see JK highlighting this or queer coding in anyway. He just did a vampire concept which didn't had any particular message like Jimin's or was reflectiion on him unlike JM or RM. If anything he just ised a famous fiction, flirt with army and fuel up the Y/N agenda.

Anon, am I getting your ask right? Are you asking why Jimin's photofolio concept was gay, and JK's wasn't? And then you believe Jimin's concept wasn't gay, and Jikookers made that up? And do you think you make sense? lol Anyways, I don't care what others say, but coming out doesn't work that way. Using queer lighting or bigender sign in an artistic concept doesn't mean that the artist has come out as queer. "Coming out" is a big word, and it needs to be literal and straightforward. This was not the first time that Jimin used queer concepts in his representations (F.E ArmyZip 2019 and Filter performance 2020), and if this is supposed to be seen as a silent come out, then he is already out for years now, which is not true. There were indeed several hints in Jimin's concept that could be read as queer, like the lighting, the gender fluidity, and the YSL poster shirt, and in my opinion, this concept of Jimin's photofolio was an extension of his previous clues, which might lead us to something bigger and more straightforward someday. But, one big horrible mistake you are making in your question is connecting queer representations to personal relationships. Jimin can be gay, but it has nothing to do with any of the ships that include him. He can come out, but his partner can stay closeted (or in a glass closet) forever. They can be open about their sexualities but never make their relationship status public. Don't ever mix these topics. And about JK's photofolio concept, Vampires haven't been invented by the Twighlight series or fanfictions, lol. FYI Vampires' history goes back centuries; "Carmilla" is a book created by Sheridan Le Fanu in 1872. Carmilla is the story of a lesbian vampire and has been considered one of the first queer representations in the history of literature. Interestingly, this first representation uses a blood-sucking monster, and there is an actual reason for that. In classic literature, horror elements like vampires, witches, and other monsters have been used as metaphors for outcasts of society AKA queer people. Yes. Vampires are gay, and everyone knows that lol. I'm not saying that Jikook both have deliberately used queer concepts for their photofolio, it might be intentional or not. But the audience can interpret the art in the way they perceive it. If you prefer gay representation, then you can see it the way you want, but if you love heteronormative and Y/N representations, then you can have your fantasies either.

HOLY FUCK. this is THE most profound and haunting piece of literature in the ENTIRE english language, and you can't convince me otherwise. oh my god.

A Skeleton of Something More by asparagus_writes (T, 1/1, 8k) - being pregnant with force-sensitive twins makes padmé a little force-sensitive herself. this is such a haunting and beautiful fic!!!

everything I have ever learned by @fialleril (G, 2/2, 12k) - a fandom classic. character study of luke. the tatooine worldbuilding in this is amazing!

The Emperor Skywalker Conspiracy by loosingletters (G, 1/1, 3.1k) - a look into the holonet's reaction to the destruction of the second death star and end of the empire, specifically where the heck did luke skywalker come from and what does he have to do with vader? this is one of the funniest things i've ever read.

Civil Wars, Whistleblower Tactics, Schematic Drafting, And The Finer Points Of Sith Adoption: The Essential How-To Guide For The Engineering Jedi by @jackdaw-kraai (T/M, ongoing series, 731k+) - luke lars (last name actually skywalker, but that's not something he shares with most people) gets a job aboard vader's ship the executor when vader notices his space youtube channel about mechanics. cue political intrigue, assassination attempts, top-notch worldbuilding, and lots of father-son bonding from luke and vader, who have no idea they're father and son. dramatic irony is my favorite writing device, and i am OBSESSED with this series.

Dear Force by mrv3000 (G, 6/6, 16k) - anakin is a himbo, and this results in none of palpatine's schemes going to plan. this fic is so funny, i reread it whenever i need a laugh.

Higher Ground/Middle Ground by @hinerdsitscat (G, 8/8, 18k) - obi-wan saves anakin on mustafar. this, of course, changes everything. obianidala. gosh i love this fic! obi-wan is so well characterized and i adore his interactions with luke and leia!

Ghost Granddad by orphan_account (G, completed series, 11k) - rey isn't alone on jakuu--instead, she's raised by her grandparents, who happen to be ghosts. i don't give a shit about the sequel trilogy, this is my canon. so so good!!

lose me in the crowds at twighlight by philthestone (G, 1/1, 3.4k) - several months into her pregnancy, during a trip to corellia, padmé catches a young boy trying to pickpocket her, and takes him to lunch. BRO. THIS IS CANON. wdym this never happened? padmé & han is the dynamic i never knew i needed.

no one can stop me, not even gravity or nasa by magneticwave (G, 1/1, 8.5k) - leia is pregnant. she and han argue about it, a lot. luke is there too. give it up for some of the best star wars characterization in fic ever!! this is the best.

just to hear the nightbird singin' by philthestone (T, 1/1, 4k) - modern au. halfway through summer break, luke decides to drag leia (and han) on a quest across the country to try and find their biological father. the way that the elements of the ot are transported into this modern au is actually genius. i love this fic to bits.

Children of Liberty by Quiet_Shadow (T, 1/1, 10k) - padmé survives, regroups with her handmaidens, and starts the rebellion. this prose is amazing!! i am a padmé survives fic connoisseur, and i'm pretty sure this is the best one.

Someone's little sister by softmoonlight (M, 1/1, 1.4k) - as the newly-born vader ravages his way through the jedi temple during order 66, he comes across a togruta youngling, who is the last survivor among her classmates. cue copious amounts of angst. the tragedy of this is so good!

father hear my cry (and may the demons guard you) by serenlyall (M, 1/1, 5.2k) - this one is dark. officers attempt to rape leia while she's held prisoner on the death star, but darth vader comes to her rescue just in time. like i said, dark, but the prose and realism of the premise make it compelling.

without knowing how, or when, or where by rain_sleet_snow (G/T, ongoing series, 20k+) - after bringing luke to the larses, obi-wan becomes closer to both owen and beru. the premise is awesome and the characterization is really great!!

Immortal Be-loved this series

Ok so after like 8 years I finally got my hands on the last book in the Immortal Beloved series by Cate Tiernan. I read the first two as a teenager, over and over again, so this book series is kinda special to me and it makes me insane that twighlight got the reception it did & noone's ever even heard of Immortal Beloved.

Anyway.

As a normal person does when having just finished the last book in a series that is now a decade old, I went looking for fanfic. AND THERE IS NONE. screaming, crying, throwing up, etc. So I went onto goodreads, bc I had to make sure I wasn't the only person who read and loved this series - thankfully I am not. There's a lot of praise for this series (and well deserved praise at that!) but the ones that caught me off guard were the bad reviews. Most of them were complaining about how they didn't like the main character, or the books are too slow, or the fact that for a grounded fantasy book it has shockingly little in terms of big fight scenes or crazy magic shenanigans... Which just tells me that they missed the point.

This book series isn't really about magic or fights or anything like that. It's about reconciling who you used to be with who you are now, learning to make better choices for yourself and the people around you, learning to forgive yourself and be better, just in and of yourself, among other things. It's about learning who you are, and that there's no expiry date on anything, there's always time to do better.

Does it have magic? Yes. Does it have fights? Yes. A compelling story and frankly a super-hot love interest? Yes. Are these what makes the books good? Well they help, sure, but the heart of the books doesn't come from them.

Quite a few of the positive reviews talk about having a warm & fuzzy feeling after finishing these books and I so relate to that. These are the people who got the points the books make, the importance of slowing down and stopping yourself from just diving head-long into yet another distraction. The books are slow, yes, but they're intentionally that way, and if that's not your cup of tea then so be it - I don't know why you'd critise a book for that though.

My only gripes are that the last book 1) has an entirely different cover art style to the first two? and 2) the ending does feel a little rushed. It would have been lovely to have a couple more chapters to resolve the romance plot line (we get so little of it in the first place T-T) and a few loose ends - as is it does feel a little "and-they-all-got-happy-endings-and-everything's-great-The-End". That being said, no book is perfect and the reasons I love this series WAY outweigh the couple pernickity bits I have... If Tiernan were to write a flash-forward novella though, I'd be a very very happy gal. (We're going to avoid the fact that that is HIGHLY unlikely to happen. The last book came out in 2013.)

TLDR? Read these books, please. I need someone to talk to about them! If not for that, then come for the dry humour, spikey but loveable main character and the sneaking suspicion that the books might be teaching you something...

first of i just want to thank you anon for like... not being an ass. i'm sure that might be a low standard to meet but i've had negative experiences with ppl coming to my inbox attacking me for having an opinion, bc you know. fandom.

second, i understand why ppl like the salvabros because they certainly have their Moments^tm. given that they were originally written in 2008/2009 it makes sense that these two white boys, especially in a series that likes to cite the utter garbage that is Twighlight, might be incredibly problematic - i see that with klaus and elijah and kol who are literally my favorite characters but have extremely violent and borderline abusive tendencies at times. i don’t claim that they’re angelic snowflakes, i love it when they get all murderous and sociopathic and how they can be so contradictory and tender. the thing is IMO damon and stefan have really bland personalities, and are occasionally able to crack a good joke or one liner. they get woobified constantly for unacceptable shit because the audience and writers favor them when more redeemable, multi-faceted and interesting characters like klaus are dragged through the mud constantly, and it's a double standard i extremely dislike.

not to mention d/amon is absolutely rancid, too. like honestly i'm only on s2 so i've heard from the fandom - and the de/enas who drank the de/ena kool aid - of the other horrible shit he's done from s3 and beyond that fandom likes to romanticise or deem as acceptable. first of all, he r/aped and assaulted caroline, a fact that is glossed over for the rest of the series. the writers didn't bother to address caroline's experience as a victim, instead choosing to soften d/amon's general shitty behavior by changing the reactions of other characters. anytime caroline and d/amon interact it grates on my nerves, the way the series likes to so casually disregard d/amon's behavior towards her. for that alone he's irredeemable, because r/ape is never a "morally grey" action, it's undeniably terrible.

and even without that, d/amon still constantly disrespects women and is seldom called out for it. he calls caroline shallow and vapid, undermining her character because she’s..... blond and likes stereotypically feminine things?? other male characters like to do this to her as well, taking her at face value based on society’s sexist standards, and i loathe the writers for this. not to mention: d/amon snapped jeremy’s neck when elena refused him, which is a massive red flag because if he truly cared for her he wouldn’t want her or her loved ones to be in pain - and he was unaware of jeremy’s ring, so he fully intended on making this death permanent. also he’s threatened to break her arm in the name of keeping her safe which ppl like to woobify, claiming “he’s so romantic and sassy [heart eyes emoji]” which is, frankly, deluded on their part. as much as i love klaro/ine i don’t claim him biting her to be romantic or any of that bullshit, i just ship out of spite and because they’re 1000x better than de/ena in every way and a much more entertaining “falling for the antagonist” pairing. and yikes, remember when he broke into her room (bc wow a 200 year old 25 year old man breaking into a 17 year old girl’s bedroom how ~rOmAnTiC~ lol, and then forced himself onto her despite her obviously being uncomfortable and telling him to stop kissing her.

and it probably only gets worse from there LOL. also a side note, i get that elena might find d*mon “appealing” or whatever but the fact that she would want to have a relationship being fully aware of what he did to her best friend caroline is. yikes. and of course caroline gets more criticism for fucking klaus - which yes i’ll admit tyler had a right to be upset about - because she’s not a main character and she and klaus are not “meant to be” like elena the main protagonist and dmon, tvd’s beloved who screws over everyone else.

as for stefan i’ll admit he’s much more likeable than da/mon but. admitting to stalking a teenage girl because “she looks like my ex” is... well. i know he saved elena from the car crash but then to stalk her for months instead of.... idk, having a humane conversation??

and lastly the salvabros are both slave owners, which is pretty much one of the many, many last straws. like stefan has made it known he’s vehemently against the racism of the 1950s, whatever, and maybe he and d/amon didn’t have a choice since they didn’t own the property at the time of slave owning, but they’re still complacent - as were all the white men at the time - and d/amon was still a confederate so i’m not here for this bullshit.
