A Shocking Mission

TW: electrocution, torture, interrogation, tortured for information, hopelessness

Pidge should have figured this mission was going wrong once the alarms started going off.

One moment they were taking the info they had downloaded, the next they were quickly sending it to the other Paladin’s as the Galra were right behind them and they weren’t sure whether or not they were going to get out.

And now, here they were, in what they assumed was some form of interrogation room. They weren’t sure what the Galra had planned, all they knew is they wanted to get off this fucking table they had been strapped to.

They were struggling against their bonds when a Galra came in. “You won’t get out of your bonds that easily, Green Paladin. Our records show you are the weakest of the Paladins and even the Champion had trouble getting out of those during his time here.”

Pidge only glared at the Galra, who only chuckled at them.

“Now, I’m going to ask you some questions, Paladin, and you’re going to answer them.”

“Fuck you,” Pidge hissed, “You’ll get nothing out of me.”

Pidge noticed the smirk that the Galra had on their face after Pidge said that. “I was hoping you’d say something like that.”

Before Pidge could react, the Galra attacked them with a prod and Pidge fel electricity coursing through their body. It was everything Pidge could do to keep from crying out in shock from the pain.

“Now, you’re going to answer my questions, or I’ll shock you. And from what I’ve heard, your species is quite weak to electric shocks. And from what we've found, electricity is most effective when you’re attached to something metal. So this is sure to hurt.”

“If you think I’m going to betray my fellow Paladins you’ve got another thing coming,” Pidge hissed.

“We’ll see about that then, why don’t we.”

Pidge tried to keep coherent, wanting to stay focused and fight back. They lost that ability after the fifth shock. They weren’t even sure how many times they had been shocked by now.

How long had they been there? They know the Galra had stepped away a few time to give them a break and even given them food once. Probably just to make sure they didn’t die before giving them information.

Had it been hours? Days? They weren’t even sure anymore. Everytime they thought they were free from the pain, it started again.

Soon their fellow Paladins would come rescue them. Soon they would be put in a healing pod. Soon they would have help getting over their fear of electricity. And eventually, everything would be okay.

But for now, all they could feel was the pain shooting up their body everytime they refused to answer a question. Leaving them wondering if they would ever be free.

inFAMOUS Verse Pit. Conduit!Pit

Basics

Name: Pit Regis Steelland III Date of birth: May 6th, 1996 Place of birth: Seattle, Washington Age: 20 Age taken to Curdun Cay: 13 Powers: Earth manipulation (all things made from the earth, including Sand, Metal, and Magma ), Enhanced strength, Durability, Rapid healing, immune to electricity. Hair color: Black Eye color: Blue Build: When he was younger he was chubby. Years spent in Curdun Cay he’s lost a lot of weight. Almost malnourished. Weapon: His fists and his powers. outfit: Curdun Cay jumpsuit. Weakness: Very bad temper, fits of rage, willing to hurt people that get in his way, trust issues.

Months after the events in the second inFAMOUS game happened. Curdun Cay was formed to lock away all Conduits called ‘Bio-terrorists’ due to what happened with ‘The Beast’. Little did the people know, but Curdun Cay was meant to ‘protect’ the Conduits instead of harm them. Though.. That was subjective. At least that’s what the head of the D.U.P. The Department of Unified Protection. Brooke Augustine believed. What better way to keep the humans without powers from lynching and killing the people with powers.

Pit Steelland. Age thirteen. Was born to a middle class family. His first thirteen years of life went normally. He went to school, shopping, playing with friends. Everything a normal child did. That was until.. Pit suddenly awakened as a conduit. His powers coming months after the formation of Curdun Cay and the D.U.P.

He moved rocks, dirt, sand, everything related to the earth with his mind. He thought it was amazing. He thought he’d become a hero and be able to help people with his powers. Like his parents taught him. No reason to ever hurt anyone when he could help everyone.

That was.. Until his parents saw him playing with the rocks. He showed them his powers and instead of being congratulated and welcomed with open arms. His parents screamed. They ran inside. Pit attempted to follow only to be greeted with a gun to his face. His father.. Pulled a gun on him and called him a monster and to stay away from them. His mother was on the phone. Calling the D.U.P.

Soon.. Brooke appeared. Along with D.U.P soldiers. Brooke tried to encase him in concrete, but.. As an earth conduit he was basically able to control her powers too. It frightened Augustine to the point her soldiers immediately tackled him and cuffed him. Making sure he wouldn’t use his powers anymore by using the special cuffs to inhibit his powers. As he was dragged away he begged for his parents to forgive him for having powers. He wanted everything to go back to normal, and for him to never have these powers.

Once at Curdun Cay. Pit was put in his cell. While there Pit was freed from his cuffs, since there was no point with his powers relating to earth. The cell he was in was metal.. If he practiced enough with his powers he probably could break out, but he was still a novice. Him breaking free of Augustine’s concrete was really just sheer dumb luck. Though it would be a lot easier to learn if given time, and well.. Pit would have nothing but time for as long as he was going to be in here.

As he resided in his cell Augustine came to visit after a week of him just mindlessly making toys out of some objects in his cell. Showing how much of a child he still was. When he met Augustine again. She had an offer for him.

“Let me train you to fight, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms.. You will be able to protect yourself and other conduits.” 

Pit thought about it for a bit. It.. Was a nice offer.. Protect himself and people like him? Though.. What about normal humans? When Pit asked Augustine told him about how he wouldn’t ever be accepted by them and how he was going to stay in Curdun Cay forever anyways. 

Pit then remembered. He didn’t want to fight.. He just wanted to protect everyone. He never wanted to learn anything violent. He was taught to never fight and always help.. This was taught to him by his grandparents and his parents.. 

When he told Augustine that. She sighed. “Looks like we have to do this the hard way..” Was all she said.

Soon Pit was dragged to a ‘special’ room designated for people that were ‘uncooperative’. As Pit was strapped in.. A switch was flipped and.. Nothing happened. Pit learned through this.. That he was unable to be shocked. Being in a constant state of grounded since he was now basically earth. Augustine took note of that and Pit soon enough was put back into the power inhibiting cuffs and was shocked again. This time it worked. Very well.

Pit screamed in agony as he was electrocuted. Though of course not till he died. IT was all just trying to ‘convince’ Pit to join her. Pit refused. For a thirteen year old his resolve was true. He wouldn’t change. He wanted to make his grandparents proud and.. The people he used to look at as his parents proud too. This went on for hours until Augustine decided enough was enough for the day.

He was thrown into his cell and was left on the ground. Crying his eyes out from the experience he just had. He hoped it was just a one time thing. That wasn’t the case. For a long time Pit would deal with torture from Augustine and the members of the D.U.P.

After a year of pain and torture. Pit was forced to go into an arena. Augustine wanted to show the conduits that were coming in she was the top dog, and told everyone about Pit’s power and how he ‘used’ to be able to beat her, but now with her training she could prevent him from doing that. So she would show everyone.

What she didn’t know is while Pit was in her presence. He was able to understand her powers since she tended to use them on him as part of the torture. Saying her famous catch phrase “I’m told that hurts”. 

What she also didn’t know is.. That year of long, painful torture. Let him break.. Not in the way she wanted though. He wanted her dead. He wanted to personally end Augustine’s life with his hands along with his parents. Anyone who stood in his way would also be killed. Pit kept quite, he didn’t want her to know. After all if she did this day wouldn’t have came.

Augustine prepared a concrete attack and he immediately used it to bring her close. Within seconds he began to choke her, his hands turning to stone as his grip began to crush her neck. His dream was about to be achieved, until a sniper shot Pit with a tranquilizer shot. Making him pass out.

When Pit woke up he was in a small room, with four walls. This place was made just for him. ‘The Hole’. From the day he entered he would live here for six whole years. With many different types of torture. Including starvation and dehydration. As to name some of the torture methods Pit had to endure. As punishment for trying to kill Augustine as well as to try and convince him to join her. 

Of course this didn’t work, and only made his anger for her grow. All this anger he felt, and the constant torture gave him some anger management problems. On days where Pit wasn’t tortured and was questioned on why he never joined he tended to lash out in pure anger. Saying he wanted Augustine’s head and to destroy all of the D.U.P. though this only would be used as the D.U.P’s ‘proof’ that conduits needed to be put here.

Pit’s bursts of anger from the constant harassment and torture would be put on display for people that needed proof about how ‘bad’ conduits are.

This would continue on for years.. During his time he got to meet a few conduits that Augustine wanted him to meet. So she could show what would happen to them if they disagreed with her and her ‘plans’.

He met Fetch, Eugene, and Hank. During the meetings they asked a few questions. Fetch asked a bit about what he did to get in ‘The Hole’. Which he told her all about, giving quite vivid detail about how it was nice to see the Augustine’s life slowly disappear. Eugene asked him if he had any games he liked, and Pit told him about what he played years ago. As for Hank. Hank asked a question that would show just how angry Pit was and how badly a smiling thirteen year old child was turned into a nineteen year old man filled with pure rage.

Hank asked if he could do one thing. What would he do?

Pit replied by bashing against the door with such force he had to be electrocuted to incapacitate him. Though he said it loud enough it would hopefully send a chill down Augustine’s spine.

“I WANNA KILL BROOK AUGUSTINE!”

When the events of inFAMOUS: Second son took place hear heard about the three people that were being moved. He knew he wouldn’t have been qualified. Though when he heard from D.U.P. officers that Augustine left Curdun Cay after Hank, Fetch, and Eugene escaped.

Though this made Pit smile. He knew it was all Augustine’s plan and it would back fire. So he waited. Letting time tick away..

Canon ending (Good Karma Delsin).

The D.U.P. is exposed and Augustine is arrested for the crimes she did on the conduits like him. Delsin makes sure to free him first after hearing all the stories from the other conduits.

Pit comes out and stares into the light of day for the first time in seven years. Pit asks Delsin all that happened and hears Augustine is in jail. Pit ‘accepts’ that and says that she is getting what she deserves in a way.. Though he still wishes he could have ended her life. Then he asks if his parents are still alive. After a bit of research he learns and attempts to kill them.

Though before Pit can take out all his pain and anger on them Delsin stops him and plays a bunch of messages that were sent to Curdun Cay. Messages from his parents asking if they could have their son back. Saying they made a mistake. To the point  they blocked their number.

This calmed Pit down and he forgave his parents. Though he needed a month away from them before he would decide if he went back to them or not. In the end Pit went back.

As a result Pit would go to anger management and counseling for all the suffering that happened. He also got back a bit of his weight he lost. Least to the point his build is similar to Delsin’s.

He is an ally of Delsin and gladly helps when Delsin calls. Same with Eugene and Fetch.

Non-Canon (Evil Delsin)

Pit is freed and Delsin takes his powers. Though after Pit’s powers are taken Delsin learns all about his past and his seven years of pain. Pit also then asks what happened to Augustine. When he tells Pit he killed her. Pit goes into a fit of rage and proceeds to show his powers for the first time ever to anyone. Powers that show even though he hasn’t trained he is a force to be reckoned with.

He defeats a weakened Delsin due to absorbing Pit’s powers. Fetch with blast of earth that sends her into a wall hard enough to knock her out, and Eugene with a massive stone fist that took out his avatar form ‘He Who Dwells’.

As everyone is knocked out Pit proceeds to find his parents and murders them with his powers. Fight the police for a bit and then disappear. Killing ten police officers and his parents.

He then goes into hiding. 

Pit’s build becomes more muscular as he proceeds to get stronger and stronger with his powers and his body. He plans to kill Delsin for taking Augustine’s life.

As Pit puts it.

“She was my kill, and no one else had the right to kill her other than me.”
