Having a lot of thoughts this m*thers day.
I HATE the way the mormon church automatically assigns m*therhood to all girls/women/afabs.
M*ther's Day at church always looked like making ALL the girls and women 12 and older (literal children) stand up while a member of the bishopric/branch presidency placated them with meaningless missives of gratitude and about how being a m*m is the most divine role a woman can hold (馃ぎ馃あ) while the young men passed out a cheap little gift to every single women standing.
I thought this tradition wouldn't exist in the singles ward. I was wrong. Same shit again. It was around then (18/19) I realized how gross this felt to me.
I don't want to be a m*ther. EVER. But I didn't even realize I had the choice to opt out of parenthood until I was a full blown adult (fortunately before I had any children) I was literally groomed for m*therhood by the church.
Young women's lessons and activities spent planning out children's names, making baby quilts for our future children (ma'am I am 12 years old. I AM children.) And learning parenting tips and how to be a good stay at home wife/m*ther.
I have such a difficult relationship with m*therhood and the mormon church is the cause for a LOT of it. I've been out of the church for many years now and I am still unpacking and unlearning.
But, damn this time of the year is hard for me.

Hello mother.
You are an incredibly hardworking and gorgeous person, yet you refuse to believe that as you regret your old mistakes. In front of you are your three children, telling you how much they appreciate and love you. Every time you refuse to believe them, you will be sent into a different room, where people the same age as your children tell you about their own abusive or toxic mothers. You will then be sent back to your children, and the process will repeat until you accept the truth. When you do, you and your children will be returned home. Everyone makes mistakes, but you have more than made up for them.
Good luck.

OK so fun Biology fact
if you are born of the female sex and you have a uterus and both ovaries you were born with the exact number of eggs you will have in your lifetime they don't multiply you have all of them at first breath. And that's cool in itself but then you think about your connection to your mother and your maternal line
because not only were you born with all your eggs your mother was born with all her eggs and her mother before that
you.
one of those eggs was you and that goes for all children your egg- the half of you that came from your mother was born with her.
isn't that amazing? you wanna know something else that connects you to your mother?
your mitochondria.
the mitochondria is only transmittable through the X chromosome. and it's thought to have been another organism entirely that ended up becoming part of your cell.
so not only was half of your existence already created with your mother's existence, but your mitochondria has also been shared through your entire maternal line.
there's an interesting way of looking at history through the lives of women... how many mothers ago was World War 1 for you? how many mothers ago was the death of king tut?
when you look at it that way doesn't time feel so small?
(pssst. some info here is wrong check my reblog)

馃珢Berrystep馃珢

Those of you that have read through my posts are probably familiar with Sunkit. Someone you haven't seen is his mother, Berrystep (formerly Minerva). Berrystep is the first queen to inhabit PewterClan and is several moons older than Songstar. As such, she takes pride in nurturing the younger members of the Clan, especially the small, dappled kit that seems to have appeared from thin air.
As her own kit prepares to be apprenticed, Berrystep has admitted doubts about beginning warrior duties. However, she has the undying support of her mate, Servalpelt (formerly Cecil).
