“stop policing queer people and their identities!!” “stop acting like a cop men can be lesbians”
you know lesbians are one of the biggest victims of violence from cops right. Especially POC lesbians and ESPECIALLY black lesbians and ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY trans lesbians. Right.

okay no because i am so fucking TIRED of male content creators using female friendship/"sisterhood" to discredit popular f/f ships??????
obviously this is about wenclair, OF COURSE THIS IS ABOUT WENCLAIR.
in case you weren't aware, wednesday co-creators miles millar and al gough just had an interview where they adressed the potential of wenclair being canon in season 2. millar started talking about the show's central "idea of sisterhood", of "exploring the friendship" in future seasons and not letting their vision get "misdirected by fans."
what the fuck. i know the title of the article linked says they're open to this relationship becoming romantic, but it really doesn't sound like that to me.
it's glaringly obvious that wenclair is FAR more popular than wenxavier and wentyler combined. a general majority of fans agree that the wednesday love triangle was lackluster and unnecessary. if the creators haven't decided on making wenclair canon, they're missing out on a massive opportunity to skyrocket the popularity of the show.
for an example of the popularity that wednesday could reach, let me remind you that the owl house, known for its canon f/f romance, reached second on tumblr's top 22 of 2022, after stranger things. lumity ranked number 7 on the ships list, being the second highest sapphic pairing on that list (the first being a stranger things pairing, of course).
if wednesday's creators committed to wenclair, they could be seeing popularity of that height. but no, they've decided that they want to "explore the friendship" instead.
how could these creators decide that representing "female sisterhood" is more important than sapphic representation, or more importantly, the show's popularity?
female friendships are NOWHERE near that rare that wednesday and enid's platonic relationship needs to be prioritized. if wednesday's creators wanted to show a sibling-esque relationship while also making wednesday and enid's relationship romantic, they could focus on wednesday's relationship with her brother pugsley or with eugene. hell, if they needed a female friendship, they could develop her relationship with bianca or create a new female character for wednesday to bond with.
this is not about female friendships at all. this is blatant homophobia.
there is ample room for female friendships in any piece of media. refusing to include a sapphic relationship because it interferes with the "friendship" or "sisterhood" of two characters (cough, cough, SOMAN CHAINANI) is just a horrible excuse to hide the fact that you're too lazy and homophobic to include sapphic representation.
which begs the question ... why are men in charge of these descisions at all?
men, ESPECIALLY straight men, have no right to be deciding the fates of female characters' sexualities and romance plotlines. they have absolutely no experience with what it means to be a queer woman in modern society. especially with the blatant bias against sapphic representation in media. while heartstopper, they both die at the end, and song of achilles are enjoying immense popularity due to their representation of m/m relationships, shows like the owl house and first kill are being axed just for their f/f representation.
there isn't just a demand for proper sapphic representation. there is a NEED. and it shouldn't be denied just because a man wants to focus on female friendships, something he doesn't know shit about.

inanimate insanity and its lesbian queerbait problem: a rant
(made by a lesbian)
TW: DISCUSSIONS OF LESBOPHOBIA, MYSOGINY, AND TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS
okay, I have been really wanting to get this off my chest for a very long time since I joined the ii fandom and watched s2 and s3.
when watching and analysing everything, something really did not sit right with me, and that is the treatment of sapphic ships in the show. sapphic relationships in the show are treated very differently compared to gay and hetero relationship
a relationship for a hetero couple in the show can usually go like this:
the two characters, male and female meet for the first time -> they start to interact frequently and start to form a "bond" -> halfway through the series, something happens between them, causing their relationship to fall apart -> but a few episodes later, they make up, and all is well -> fanbase really likes ship -> creators make it canon
---
however, a relationship for a sapphic couple in the show goes a little something like this:
the two characters, both female, meet for the first time -> they start to interact frequently and start to form a "bond" -> girl 1 starts to visibly show romantic feelings towards girl 2 -> a few episodes in, girl 2 does something "toxic" or "mean" towards girl 1, and their relationship falls apart and it is like that for the rest of the show -> fanbase deems it as "toxic" -> creators don't even give the ship a second chance
or alternatively:
two characters, both female, start interacting for one or two episodes -> they seem really into one another -> they never have a single interaction ever again after that
---
I could go on for ages about more examples of this, there are so many sapphic relationships in the show that had so much potential
tacomic had so much potential
soapmic had so much potential
cabtube had so much potential
clovercab had so much potential
candlecab had so much potential
but yet, sapphic relationships in the show are either doomed by the narrative or demonised the fuck out of
---
tl;dr: they're have been many sapphic ships in inanimate insanity that had so much potential but they are all doomed by the narrative

the one that got away.
𝜗𝜚 synopsis: osoro always knew she would fall in love with someone one day, but what is she supposed to do if her dad finds out? especially since her first love is a girl?
𝜗𝜚 warnings: lesbian!osoro, homophobia and mentions of abuse / violence / the word 'queer'.
Tumblr media
can't stop thinking about osoro who is terrified at the idea of falling in love with a girl. all everyone knew about osoro shidesu was that she was a violent character. everyday, she would come into school with bloodied knuckles and a new scar from her now defeated opponent, which only caused more people to cower at the sight of the female delinquent as she walked past or even looked in their direction.
it was nothing new to her but it's not like she cared. it's like she could never care about anything unless it's winning in a fight. but then, one day, she heard a snapping sound and it was the shackles that boarded up her tough heart being broken off. and that was all because of an unfamiliar feeling that rushed through her blood and up to her cheeks, which heated up upon seeing a particular girl in the hallways.
truth be told, osoro knew nothing about her, not even if she was an upperclassmen or under. all she knew was that the girl seemed ethereal enough to almost be the most perfect human being or maybe the most perfect girl. and she hated that. i mean, even though no one would predict the osoro shidesu to be in love, that wasn't what she hated about the whole situation. you were a girl for crying out loud and while osoro couldn't care less about what kind of person she falls for, it was her dad.
osoro doesn't remember half of the beatings he gave her growing up, but one of them was the reason why she was panicking now. even now, she could still feel the smack of a belt smack across her head from when she was six years old, making her drop her half undressed doll onto the floor. and once the tears fell, more misery followed along onto her black and blue body with the final hit being a single sentence; "not having my kid being a fucking lesbian".
of course, osoro never knew what that meant at the time, but she knew it was something her father hated by the way it laced off his tongue as though it were venom. all she was doing at the time was taking off her doll's dress to put another piece of clothing on, but maybe her eyes wandered to certain parts and that's what set the old man off. that sentence never left her mind after that day and now that she was older, she was more terrified at becoming what her dad hated.
or rather being what he hated because now, all she could do is suck up her feelings and try to chain up her beaten-up heart. maybe after high school, things would be different and maybe, she wouldn't have say that girl was the one that got away.

Gonna answer a bunch of asks under the cut (both good and bad) so that I don’t keep subjecting my followers to the discourse
If you send anymore asks about this I’m just going to block and delete (well wishes are appreciated but I probably won’t answer those either, sorry!)
Tumblr media
Afdhsjjfhs yaaaay *is launched into the air*
Tumblr media
Thank you for bringing this up, it’s amazing how many people don’t understand how intersectionality works at all!
Tumblr media
Posting about hating women and posting about hating men are not at all the same thing. Misogyny is real and harmful and misandry does not and will never have the institutional power that misogyny has. It doesn’t matter if you’re a gay man or a straight man, you will still have power over women that they will never have over you.
Tumblr media
*insert the “they had us in the first half not gonna lie” meme here* 😂 thank you❤️
Tumblr media
People who like men and are insecure about that have to make it everyone else’s problem. It’s exactly as you said, they can’t handle when someone doesn’t center men in their life 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
Once again: do you expect straight people to say “it still stings when you say you hate straight people🥺” no, you don’t.
Your friend sounds like a freak and probably did some psychological damage to you. Now you need to unpack it so you can be normal around people who dislike men without making it about yourself
Tumblr media
And I love my trans man peers 🥰
Tumblr media
The fragility of a male ego is fascinating, wish they didn’t inflict that on lesbians
Tumblr media
If your gut reaction to seeing someone complaining about men is to think they’re a terf you really need to unlearn that. If I complain about straight people or cis people, would you automatically associate me with bigots? No, you wouldn’t.
I’m complaining about people who oppress me. Are you doing anything to oppress women? No? Cool, understand that my post isn’t about you, and move on. I shouldn’t need to hold your hand and provide all the nuance in the world so that you know it isn’t about you. That’s just “not all men.”
Alright the end everybody 💃

I wish I could go back to my life ten minutes ago when I barely knew who Juliana Margulies was. That rant was so racist, Islamphobic, anti-black, misogynoiristic, lesbophobic and queerphobic she should be elected to Netanyahu's cabinet. She could have just dropped the N-word like she was clearly dying to, it would barely have made a difference.
The fuck is with washed up, has-been C-list celebs hanging their entire ugly asses out to defend Zionism the last two months?
It's hard to pick out the most unhinged part of that whole rant but I'm gonna go with one about anti-Zionist Black lesbians: "As someone who plays a lesbian journalist on the Morning Show, I'm more offended by it as a lesbian than I am as a Jew." 💀💀 White women are SERIOUSLY UNWELL.
(Someone in the QTs clarified that the Black lesbians' signs said "No Zionists Allowed" not "No Jews Allowed". Obviously. The victim complex is INSANE.)

It's so interesting when people say "mspec lesbians have a long and complicated history" and then you actually research said long and complicated history and it's all just biphobia. That's it. It's just people thinking person dating opposite gender = straight and person dating same gender = gay. It's the most straightforward bi erasure I've ever seen and I REMEMBER even in the early days of tumblr bisexuals fought against people reducing their sexuality down to just gay and straight. And now while people are clamoring to be bi lesbians, I see no one vying to reclaim "bihet", which is just the same thing in another direction. Really makes you think

I’m very concerned about Komi being sexualized for her social anxiety and (headcanon) autism by these weird adult men especially since she’s ONLY IN HIGH SCHOOL
it’s also very weird how the mangaka themselves likes to indulge in this and also sexualize other female MINOR characters in the manga, like Agari basically being a pet play fetish and one of her defining characteristics being her boobs, while yamai is one of the only lesbian characters and she’s portrayed as a creepy pervert while the other guys sexualizing high school girls in swimsuits is fine ig?? Very weird but it’s all just played off as “cute” 🤨

You know the thought just came to me but when cis lesbians spend time telling trans people that it's no one's business who cis lesbians decide to date, they should really remember to be saying that shit to TERFs I've certainly heard some entitled people tell cis lesbians that a lesbian not dating mtf people is bigoted, but that's pretty rare. You know what's not rare? TERFs telling lesbians who is 'safe' and 'valid' to date. We're used as pawns in their arguments all the time. Most of my trans sisters respect me and my right to choose who I date. TERFs don't. Not only do they tell cis lesbians that those of us with trans girlfriends are being 'oppressed' or 'put in danger', but they constantly use us as some shield to justify their anti-trans rhetoric. So let me say this to TERFs: Stay out of our dating/social lives. If you're going to complain about trans women 'wrongfully inserting themselves into our spaces' (which they aren't, but you don't want to hear that), then you have quite the audacity to do just that yourselves. (And if you're a lesbian TERF, I certainly feel less safe around you than I do my trans sisters out there. Most of them are incredibly sweet and respectful and only want everyone to live freely, while you focus on putting the people around you into boxes)

there is a difference between a lesbophobe telling you “maybe you haven’t found the right man” or “you just need to get better dick” (real things I have been told) and a queer person identifying themselves as a lesbian who is sometimes attracted to men
queer people who tell monosexual/monoromantic lesbians that they should try dating men are just as bad as the cishet people who say similar things. don’t get me wrong, I definitely have experienced and witnessed lesbophobia within the queer community
but individual people identifying as a bi lesbian is functionally not the same thing as them saying that all lesbians are secretly bi. an individual person identifying as a transmasc lesbian is not the same thing as them saying that straight transmascs aren’t valid
there is lesbophobia in our communities, but it doesn’t come in the form of people using the labels that work for them

(Tw: d slur and r slur, just in case; translated as closely as it can be)
These people are utterly disgusting over a contest:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, I really don't like mixing this blog that much with this because at the end of the day this is actually a RWBY blog (and a PJO one sometimes too), but the misogyny, the lesbophobia and the ableism is getting so disgusting that I can't even deal with it. Please vote VIOLETA for favorite if anything just to piss these people off. You can vote once every day from mobile or iPad/tablets (I'm voting from my phone, my mom's and my tablet), and if you're from a Spanish speaking country, you don't even have to use the VPN. Also, if you have Instagram, go to DIRECTOOT for me and leave a vote there for Violeta in the poll in their stories to piss them off as well because the guy behind it is kind of an asshole 💜
Tumblr media
ALSO, if you want, you can listen to the covers the contestants make (in the show) on Spotify. I really like the I Kissed A Girl, Walk Like An Egyptian and Only You ones lol

lesbian is the only word for women and nonbinary people who feel in any way connected to womanhood (sometimes the main connection they have to the socially constructed idea of womanhood is their lesbian identity) that are exclusively attracted to women and nonbinary people who feel in any way connected to womanhood.
it's the only sapphic label that does not include experiencing attraction to men. all other sapphic identities (to my knowledge) are multi spectrum identities, much love to bisexuals, pansexuals, etc., but not being attracted to men is an exclusively lesbian experience.
being a lesbian is a beautiful thing and I am proud to be a lesbian, but it can be challenging at times frequently being invalidated by those around me, some of whom can't wrap their heads around my not-being-attracted-to-men. I have so much love for lesbians and for nonlesbians who extend solidarity to lesbians in the fight against lesbophobia <3
